Chapter 2: Stained Purple
Master Wu's POV
After the courtyard is cleared and the people are gone, PIXAL and I start packing away the benches and podium.
"Do you think he could come back?"
"Who? Lloyd?"
"…If my databases are up to date then Lloyd should be able to come back as a ghost, correct?"
"I'm afraid not PIXAL. If Lloyd was a ghost, then he would of come back by now." PIXAL looks down sadly at her broom and continues sweeping.
"I'm sorry PIXAL, but he is gone."
After I finish packing away I go inside and lay in bed. It's nearly 11pm.
I roll on my back and stare at the roof.
We did try summoning Lloyd back. We did try to take him back from the departed realm.
All for nothing. Why hadn't it worked.
"Father, if you can hear me, send me a sign of what I am doing wrong. Tell me.
Please…"
I close my eyes and drift off into a murky sleep.
Suddenly I wake up in the snow. I get up and look around. There is snow floating gently from the sky, landing softly on the ground. I look to my feet and see a inky purple substance flowing from behind me.
It looks so familiar-
I spin around and see Lloyd's body, mangled beyond repair. The purple substance is his blood, and this is where he died. I walk closer to his body, Lloyd's chest is falling slowly, up and down. A single tear slides down my cheek.
"Oh Lloyd…" I whisper. "If only I was a better teacher."
The sudden noise of footsteps echoes across The Valley. Army men. Dragonecho was at war once again. A solider noticed Lloyd. He rushed over and checked his state.
"Sir, there's a person here!"
"Are they breathing?"
There was moment of silence.
"Yes sir!"
"Then get them out! We aren't going to leave a person behind! Especially here!"
"Right away sir!" More soliders came and started clearing snow off of Lloyd.
"He's safe." I whisper, smiling. "And he's not alone."
"Go find him my son. He is family after all."
I nodded to my fathers words.
