Hello, everyone! In honor of Halloween, I've decided to work on a special dark chapter. The dino kids are about to go on another dangerous journey much different than before. A scary one at that. Read on to find out!

(Song starts)
It's nighttime. The moon is full and shining bright. The scene shows a black hedgehog on top of a building. He then crosses his arms and looks down on a city. He then teleports away. The scene then shifts down to the nearby city. The dino kids are running down a street in fear. The city was in ruins. They stopped running as a figure walked towards them. It was Shadow. Behind him were dark and red creatures. Beings that the dino kids have never seen in their lives. Shadow narrowed his eyes at the kids. The kids had frightened expressions. Sonic and his Mobian friends appeared behind the kids. Dark clouds started to form, and the sky started to turn red. Shadow then pointed to the group and the dark aliens charged. The Mobians charged as well.
I see no, hear no evil
Black writings on the wall
GUN agents then appeared to fight the Black Arms. The dark aliens fought hard. The agents used their weapons and shot at the aliens. Some aliens got hurt but they didn't stop attacking. The kids then hid from the chaos unfolding before them. More aliens descended from the dark red sky unto the city.
Unleash a million faces
And one by one they fall
The Black Aliens destroyed anything in their way. The Mobians helped the GUN agents fight a lot of the dark creatures. But the Mobians saw that more aliens were coming. Some aliens had weapons of their own. Shadow was on top of a small building overlooking the battle. His arms were crossed as he watched.

Shadow watched the Mobians as they fought the dark aliens. A dark and evil being appeared by Shadow, also watching the battle.
I, I, I, I am
The scene then shows Sonic and the other Mobians running through the city, trying to save what's left of it. Sonic looks hopeful that he can save more lives.

The scene then shows the Sonic and the others confronting Shadow in the middle of the city. The kids hid behind some piles of debris, watching Sonic and the others. They felt afraid. Shadow then glared at Sonic and the others.
Go ahead and try to see through me
Do it if you dare (You dare)
Sonic and his team got ready to fight Shadow. The black hedgehog was ready for them.
One step forward, 2 steps back I'm here (One step forward, 2 steps back)
Knuckles and Amy ran first at Shadow. Knuckles attacked with his fists and Amy attacked with her hammer. Shadow then blocked both attacks. He pushed Amy away with a flat palm. She slid and used the handle of her hammer to keep herself from falling down. Knuckles tried to fight back but Shadow proved to be stronger. He then punched Knuckles away. Amy ran back in but Shadow kicked her hard. She went flying and hit the ground. Sonic and Tails had surprised expressions which then turned to anger. The dino kids stared in disbelief.

Tails and Rouge then attacked from above. Tails threw a dummy ring bomb and Rouge threw her own bomb. Shadow dodged with ease.

Shadow then shot Chaos Spears at both Flyers. They couldn't react in time and got hit. Tails and Rouge hit the ground. Sonic then glared at Shadow and Shadow glared back. They both got ready and charged at each other.
Do it, do it, do it, do it!
The scene then shifts to show the dark alien leader commanding his aliens to attack other parts of city. The GUN commander arrives and sends more GUN agents at the aliens. Even Eggman is trying to save the city, though he wants to conquer it.

The scene goes back to Sonic and Shadow's fight. The other Mobians then recover and join beside Sonic. Shadow then gets mad and starts to glow red. He folds his arms in. The dino kids' and the Mobians' eyes went wide. Shadow then threw his arms outward and unleashed his Chaos Blast. The kids closed their eyes at the bright red light. When they opened their eyes, all the Mobians except Sonic were lying on the ground. They were all hurt and burned from Shadow's powerful attack. Sonic struggled to stand. His body covered in burn marks.

The kids then silently gasped and ran to Sonic's side. They tried to help Sonic. Their expressions then turned from worry to fear as Shadow walked towards them.

The kids then looked at Shadow with wide eyes. Shadow then crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes at the kids. The kids felt really afraid at what Shadow would do next. The 'screen' zooms a little close to Shadow's face. Fire from nearby reflected off his eyes.

The scene then changes in a flash and shows the dark red sky.

Chapter 11: A Shadow Darkly
Sonic and the kids played around near some trees. After some time, the kids got hungry. The kids then went to eat some green leaves. They also drank some water from a small river nearby. Sonic wasn't hungry at the moment, so he waited for them to be done with lunch. After lunch, the kids played with Sonic some more. They played some hide & seek and tag. Suddenly, Ichy then flew over to Sonic and the kids. The kids gasped but Sonic frowned. Ichy landed near a tree branch.
"Hello kids and spiky rodent" Ichy said with a grin.
Sonic crossed his arms. "(Hmph) What do you want now Feather brain?"
"Well, I'm just here to give you a message" said Ichy.
"What kind of message?" asked Sonic.
"The Doc just kidnapped one of the kids' parents" stated Ichy. The kids then gasped.
Sonic then glared. "Who did Eggman kidnap?"
Ichy's smile grew a little. "The Fast Runner's parents."
The kids gasped again. Ruby's eyes went wide.
"Eggman has taken my parents?!" exclaimed Ruby. Ichy nodded in response.
"But why?" asked Ducky.
"To teach you all what happens when you mess with my master" answered Ichy.
Cera frowned. "Did he hurt them?"
"Not yet" replied Ichy. "But if the little Runner ever wants to see her parents again, come to his base in the Mysterious Beyond."
Ichy then took off and flew to the Mysterious Beyond. The kids felt really worried. Sonic then thought that there was more to this evil plan.
"Oh no! My parents!" Ruby said with fear.
"Don't worry Ruby. We're all going to help rescue your parents" Littlefoot said with bravery.
"Yeah, we'll show him. (Looks at Sonic) Right Sonic?" said Cera.
Sonic then nodded. "Definitely, but we'll have to be careful. Something tells me that this could be a trap."
The kids then nodded. But Petrie then thought of something.
"But what if Eggman got the other parents too?" said Petrie.
"I don't think so. We can't tell the other parents about this" said Sonic.
"But why not?" asked Chomper.
"Yeah, my dad could help us and teach that mean Eggman not to mess with our families" said Cera. She was still mad at Eggman for nearly hurting Tricia.
"Because if we do tell them, they'll try to fight Eggman and then he might capture them too, just so he can really hurt you guys" said Sonic. The kids then felt worried.
Cera sighed. "Oh. Yeah."
"Sonic's right" said Littlefoot. "We'll have to rescue Ruby's parents ourselves."
"And without falling into Eggman's trap" added Ruby.
"And be careful around Sharpteeth" added Petrie. The group then nodded.
"Come on, we have to hurry. Eggman won't get away with this" said Sonic. The kids nodded in agreement. The group then made their way to the Mysterious Beyond. But they didn't notice that Ichy was watching from up a cliff near the Mysterious Beyond.
Ichy chuckled. "Hah! That rodent and those rotten kids have no idea."
Eggman then spoke through a device on Ichy's armor. "Oh, yes. They don't know that I actually didn't capture any parents. I should've thought of this a long time ago. I have a genius plan to get rid of those kids for good. And then I'll take down Sonic and this world will be mine. I will finally build my new empire. Ha ha ha!"
Ichy then laughed evilly too and flew back to his master's ship. The group was almost to the Mysterious Beyond. They didn't notice that Daxter was watching them from a distance. He glared at Sonic. He then slowly followed the group. After some time walking, they found Eggman's mighty ship. Sonic then looked at the kids.
"Remember, stay close to me. I'm sure that Eggman has set some sort of trap" said Sonic. The kids nodded.
"Oh, don't worry. Me stay very close" said Petrie. The group then made their way to Eggman's ship. A large door slowly opened. The kids gulped, but Sonic felt determined to rescue Ruby's parents. Daxter then saw the group go inside Eggman's ship. The door then closed before Daxter could get in.
Daxter then growled but then scratched his head. "Now why would Sonic and those kids enter Eggman's ship? Hmm... no matter. I'll wait til they come out. Maybe Eggman will make it easier for me to get that time band."
The group then walked carefully inside Eggman's ship. The kids saw all sorts of tech stuff. They also saw some old robots. They then entered into some sort of hallway. They saw 3 pathways. The group then looked at the pathways. Ruby then called out, "Mother? Father? Where are you?"
There was no reply though. Sonic then said that they should try the left pathway. The kids nodded. The group walked carefully. They all looked around at some other tech stuff. Suddenly, the lights then shut off. The kids then gasped. Sonic's eyes went wide. The kids started to panic a little.
"I can't see!" exclaimed Ducky.
"It too dark!" exclaimed Petrie.
"Where are we?!" exclaimed Chomper. Sonic then tried to calm the kids.
"Guys, it's ok! Stay close to me!" exclaimed Sonic. But before anyone could react, they all heard something moving. Sonic then listened carefully and heard that it was a door closing. Sonic then moved a little close to the sound but the kids backed away from it. The door then closed tight. The lights then turned back on. The kids then sighed in relief, but then they saw something. Sonic and the kids saw that a large metal door cut them off and separated them from each other. The kids were on the right side while Sonic was on the left side.
Sonic called out, "You guys ok?"
"Sonic, are you there?" called Littlefoot.
"Yes, but it looks like Eggman separated us. Maybe this was the plan" said Sonic.
Cera frowned. "Maybe I can bust this thing."
"I don't know if that'll work Cera" said Littlefoot. Cera didn't listen and charged at the door. She then stopped and shook her head when she hit it. There was not even a small dent on the metal door. Cera tried again a few times, but got nothing. The big door wouldn't budge.
Cera groaned. "Ohhhh! What is this thing made of?!"
"We can't get through" said Littlefoot.
"Does this mean we're trapped in here?" said Chomper.
"Trapped?!" Petrie exclaimed while he shook in fear
Sonic then called out, "Don't worry guys! We'll find a way out of here."
The kids then heard something. Some voices that sounded familiar.
"Littlefoot?" said a voice.
Littlefoot then raised an eyebrow. "Huh? Grandpa?"
"Cera, help me" said another voice.
Cera gasped. "Daddy?"
"Petrie, Eggman's got us!" exclaimed another voice that sounded like Petrie's mother.
"Help me Ducky!" exclaimed another voice that sounded like Ducky's mother. Sonic could hear the voices a little through the door.
"Mama?" said Petrie.
Ducky gasped. "Oh no, no, no! Eggman's got the other parents too!"
Spike mumbled with worry. Littlefoot then had a brave expression.
"Come on! We have to help them!" exclaimed Littlefoot. The kids then ran off. Sonic's eyes went wide.
"Kids, wait! It's another trap!" yelled Sonic. But the kids didn't hear Sonic's voice very well. They ran through the pathway for a moment. The kids called out to their parents. They then stopped running when they heard some more voices from another room. They heard some of their parents calling for help. The kids gasped and ran into the room. But then they stopped in the middle of the room cause it was dark, and they saw nothing. Suddenly, the door started to close fast. The kids gasped and ran for the door. But they were too late. The door closed and they were stuck in darkness once again.
Meanwhile, Sonic tried spin dashing the large door. He only made a few scratches. The door was really durable. Sonic then got ready.
"I guess I have to take this up a notch" said Sonic. The blue hedgehog then charged his spin dash, gathering up energy. Suddenly, he stopped as he heard something. He looked behind himself and saw egg bots and robo dinos coming his way. Sonic then fought the robots.
Back with the kids, they were stuck in a dark room. The kids felt really afraid.
"Where are we?" Cera said with fear.
"Where my mama?" said Petrie.
"Mommy, where are you?" said Ducky. Suddenly, the lights came on. The kids saw that they were in a big circular room. There was a large device on the ceiling, but there was no sign of their parents. A screen then turned on near the kids. They looked at the screen and saw Eggman. The mean doctor laughed evilly. The kids felt afraid.
"Hello little children. You just fell right into my trap" said Eggman.
Ruby then frowned. "Where are our parents?"
"Yeah, we know you captured them. Where are they?" said Cera.
Eggman still grinned. "Did I? Or was it a trick? I'll show you."
Eggman then pushed a few buttons and some of the parents' voices were heard. They were just recordings. The kids gasped.
"You didn't capture our parents?" asked Littlefoot.
Eggman shook his head. "No little one. It was all fake, to get you all right where I want you."
Eggman laughed again. The kids' eyes went wide.
Ruby frowned. "You lied to us Eggman."
Cera glared. "You let us outta here!"
"Oh, I'm afraid I can't do that" said Eggman. "You rotten kids have caused too much trouble. So, I'm going to send you kids somewhere you cannot stop me again. Then, I'll destroy Sonic. And then I'll take over your home."
The kids felt afraid. They wondered what terrible thing Eggman will do now.
"But where will you send us?" said Chomper.
"Somewhere beyond my reach. A place in the future, in the past, or even another dimension entirely" said Eggman. The kids gasped though they didn't know what 'dimension' meant. The mean doctor then put a red Chaos Emerald into a machine and pressed a button.
"Farewell children! Have a nice trip!" exclaimed Eggman. The device on the ceiling activated and created a black portal. The portal began to suck them in. The kids started floating towards the portal. The kids screamed in fear. They tried to run but it was hopeless. The kids were swallowed by the portal and the portal closed. The screen then shut off.
Meanwhile, Sonic took care of the robots and robo dinos. Sonic then heard Eggman's laugh through some speakers.
Sonic frowned. "Alright, Egg Head. What do you do with the kids?"
"Oh, I simply sent them somewhere different, so they'll never bother me again" said Eggman.
Sonic's eyes went wide. His worried expression turned into anger.
"Where do you send them to? The far future? The past?" said Sonic.
"Well, that's the thing Sonic. I don't know where. It could be the past or even a new world. Either way, they can't get in my way now. I will destroy you and then take over this world" said Eggman.
Sonic got in his fighting stance. "You'll have to beat me first, (Smiles) and we both know how this will end. With me kicking your butt into next year."
"Oh, really?" said Eggman. Suddenly, the lights went out again. Sonic groaned and let out, "Not again."
Sonic then heard more robots. He faintly saw their glowing red eyes in the dark. Sonic hmphed.
"You seem worried Sonic. Allow me to LIGHT your path" said Eggman. Sonic didn't see that laser guns appeared nearby. Sonic then got hit from behind and fell to his knees. The robots closed in on Sonic. Sonic then got up and zoomed past the robots, hoping to find a way out. After a few seconds, he hit a wall. He shook his head and rubbed his head. He then heard another door close. He looked around in the dark. The lights then came back on. Sonic then saw that he was trapped between 2 large metal doors. Suddenly, 2 devices appeared on both walls. They shot out some type of gas. Sonic's eyes went wide. He then tried to bounce back and forth on the doors, trying to escape the sleeping gas. He started to make some good dents on the large doors, but the gas started to slow him down. He fought hard to stay awake, but the gas was too strong. Within a few minutes, Sonic got knocked out. The gas then stopped and the metal doors opened. Eggman then ordered the robots to take Sonic away.
Somewhere in another world...
The kids went through some dark tunnel and met a bright light. A portal opened nearby and they landed a little hard. All the kids groaned. The portal closed. The kids then stood up and sighed.
"Is everyone ok?" asked Littlefoot.
"I'm fine" said Cera.
"I'm ok. I am" said Ducky. Spike mumbled in agreement.
"Me ok" replied Petrie. Chomper and Ruby said the same. The kids looked around. They were in a strange place. It looked like some kind of city. But it looked ruined. Some buildings were really damaged. They looked at the sky. It was red and gray. Some thunder was heard but they saw no lightning. The kids felt really confused.
"Where are we?" said Cera.
"I'm not sure" said Littlefoot.
"I've never seen a place like this" said Chomper.
"And I've never seen the sky like that" added Ruby.
Petrie shook a little. "Oh, this place feel scary."
"Where did Eggman send us?" said Ruby.
"I don't know. He even said that HE doesn't know where he sent us" said Littlefoot.
Cera looked around. "Do you think that he sent us to the future?"
Littlefoot then shook his head. "I don't think so. We don't have things like this in the Great Valley."
"I don't see any plants or water either" said Ducky.
"So, where we are?" said Petrie. The kids started to feel uneasy as they looked around. They saw some fires and some broken vehicles nearby. This place didn't seem safe. Littlefoot started to think that they were in some kind of city like Mobius. There was a sign that read "Westopolis," though the kids couldn't read it. They then heard a crashing sound, then they heard some screams of pain. The kids then gasped.
"What was that?" asked Cera.
"I don't know. But I think someone's in trouble. We should help" said Littlefoot. The others then agreed. They followed the sound a little further down the street. They stopped a few feet and their eyes went wide. They saw some humans dressed in some sort of suits. The suits were black and gray colored. They also wore helmets. They were GUN agents and they carried guns. The kids then saw that the agents were fighting mysterious creatures. The creatures were red and dark gray colored. Their eyes were rich yellow, but they had no mouths. These creatures really scared the kids. These creatures were known as the Black Arms. The kids then saw winged creatures flying around and trying to swoop down on the agents. Some of the black aliens had weapons themselves. The agents managed to knock down some aliens, but some agents got shot by the aliens' laser guns. Some aliens started to destroy parts of the city. The kids heard some more cries. They saw some other humans running to hide from the battle taking place. The kids then went to hide by the side of an old building. Some agents then went further down the street. The kids then heard something from above. They looked up and saw someone jumping to another building. The figure then disappeared in a flash of yellow light. The kids felt really surprised. The figure then appeared in another flash of yellow light nearby. His back was towards them. They saw red and black quills. They instantly knew who it was. The kids then smiled and exclaimed, "Shadow!"
Shadow then raised both eyebrows and faced the kids. The kids walked over to Shadow.
"Gee, are we glad to see you" said Cera.
"Yeah, do you know where Sonic is? We need to get back home" asked Littlefoot. Shadow raised an eyebrow and then narrowed his eyes at the kids.
"(Hmph) Who are you kids? And how do you know my name and Sonic?" said Shadow. The kids then felt surprised. Their smiles faded. How could Shadow not know them?
"We're friends of Sonic and you're one of Sonic's friends" said Ruby.
"We met you in Mobius. We did" said Ducky.
Shadow hmphed. "Mobius? What are you talking about? I was never friends with Sonic."
Cera raised an eyebrow. "You don't remember us at all?"
Shadow then turned his back on the kids. "I've never seen you before at all. But since you're friends with Sonic, that's all I need to know. (Faces the kids) You need to stay out of my way, or you'll be sorry."
The kids then felt uneasy. They believed Shadow meant business.
Cera then frowned. "How can you say that?"
"Yeah, aren't you supposed to be friends with Sonic?" said Chomper.
Shadow narrowed his eyes at the kids. "I will never be friends with Sonic. I don't have time for you pathetic kids. (The kids raised both eyebrows) I'm here to make this city and the world pay for its arrogance. So stay away. This is your only warning."
The kids gasped. Before the kids could say anything, Shadow then zoomed off further into the city. The kids walked out to the street. The kids felt really confused.
"Ok, how does Shadow not know us?" said Cera.
"Yeah, there must be something wrong with him" said Chomper.
Littlefoot then thought of something. "Maybe Eggman did send us somewhere in another time. Maybe that's why Shadow doesn't know us."
"Oh, he definitely didn't sound like the Shadow we know. He even seemed scary" said Petrie.
"He did feel scary. He did, he did" added Ducky. While the kids thought about where they were, 2 GUN agents came by. They stopped in their tracks when they saw the kids a few feet away. Both agents looked at each other.
"Are you seeing what I'm seeing?" said an agent.
"I think so or are my eyes playing tricks on me?" said other agent. The agents couldn't believe that they were seeing living dinosaurs in their city. Both agents walked to the kids. The kids then saw the agents. One agent waved his hand and smiled a little.
"Uh, hi little dinosaurs. How on earth did you guys get here?" said the agent.
"Well, we don't know. Can you guys help us?" asked Littlefoot. Both agents blinked in confusion. Their jaws dropped. The kids felt surprised at why the agents looked at them funny.
"Did... did you just talk?!" exclaimed the agent.
Littlefoot raised an eyebrow. "Well, yes."
Cera stepped forward. "We all talk. What's wrong with that?"
Both agents looked at each other and then back at the kids. This day just got really weird for them.
"Well, in this world, dinosaurs don't really talk" said the agent. The kids felt really surprised.
"But why not?" asked Ruby.
The agent shrugged. "I don't know. They just don't. They're just animals."
"Well, if they can talk, maybe they're with Sonic" said the other agent. The kids raised both eyebrows.
"You know Sonic?" said Littlefoot.
The agent nodded. "Yes, him and his friends are trying to save this city and help us fight back against the Black Arms."
"Black Arms?" said Cera. Before the agent could explain, a few black aliens appeared and growled. The other agent then looked at the kids.
"Go hide! Now!" exclaimed the other agent. The kids then ran and hid behind an abandoned car. The kids then believed that the aliens were the Black Arms. The 2 agents threw grenades at the aliens. Some aliens got knocked down. One agent then shot down a Black Hawk. The agents were willing to protect the dino children. Suddenly, a large and brute like alien came in. It had a large weapon in its right hand. It looked like some type of mallet. The agents fired their guns at the brute, but their guns had no effect on this creature. The bullets just bounced off. The agents felt surprised. But before they could attack again, the brute swung his hammer at them. Both agents got hit and were sent flying to a nearby building. The kids gasped. Both agents then hit the ground. One agent was already knocked out, but the other agent was still awake, just barely. His helmet was a little damaged. He looked at the kids weakly and faintly said, "Run." The other agent then fell unconscious. The kids felt really afraid of this big creature. They felt too afraid to run at the moment. They heard the large alien walk towards them. They knelt down and tried to stay quiet. They heard the brute let out a small growl. It looked around. It sensed something else was here. It looked at the car. It walked closer. It examined the car. The kids froze in fear. After a few minutes, everything was quiet. Littlefoot and Cera looked around.
"Maybe he's gone" whispered Cera. The kids sat still. Suddenly, the car was tossed aside by the big alien. The kids gasped as the big alien saw them. It narrowed its eyes at them. The kids shook in fear.
"I guess I'm wrong!" shouted Cera. The brute creature lifted its weapon high, ready to strike.
"Run!" shouted Littlefoot. The kids then took running. The weapon missed and hit the ground. The hammer made a small crack on the road. The creature then followed the kids. The kids ran further down the street. Suddenly, 2 Black Hawks flew by and blocked them. They screeched at the kids. The kids screamed and ran another way. But 2 black aliens then landed right beside them. The kids had terrified expressions. The black aliens surrounded them. They started to close in on them. The kids were trapped.
"Somebody help us!" yelled Ducky.
"Help!" shouted Chomper. The other kids shouted the same thing. But it looked like it was hopeless. Cera then tried to charge at one alien. She hit it with her head but the alien didn't even twitch. She looked at the alien. The alien then growled. All she did was make it angry. She ran back to the others as the alien hit the ground with a fist. The brute alien then stepped forward. It raised its weapon high. The kids then knelt down and covered their heads while shaking in fear. Suddenly, someone appeared and stopped the hammer. The brute looked at the one who dared to stop its attack. The kids then looked up and saw that it was Knuckles who grabbed the hammer. Knuckles then frowned at the big creature.
"Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" said Knuckles. The kids then smiled and shouted, "Knuckles!"
The brute growled and tried to punch Knuckles with its other hand. The brute missed as Knuckles jumped back and got in a fighting stance. The brute used its hammer again but missed as Knuckles dodged it. Knuckles then countered with a powerful punch. The brute got knocked down on its back. Knuckles then punched another alien. An energy blast appeared and hit one of the Black Hawks. Then another energy ball hit the other Black Hawk. Both winged creatures fell to the ground. The kids saw that Tails hit the winged creatures with his weapon. A blue blur then appeared and helped Knuckles take care of the rest of the aliens. All the aliens got knocked out. They saw Sonic had come at the right time. Sonic dusted off his hands and put his fists on his hips.
"Good job guys" said Sonic. Both Tails and Knuckles nodded. Sonic did a thumbs-up. The 3 Mobians then looked at the kids. They felt really surprised at seeing dinosaurs in this time. The kids then shouted, "Sonic!"
Sonic felt surprised. The kids then ran over and hugged him tight. Sonic didn't hug back though since he was confused.
"We missed you very much Sonic" said Littlefoot.
"Yeah, we really missed you" said Chomper.
"Thanks for helping again" said Ruby.
"We hoped you would come to help. We did" said Ducky.
"Me glad to see you guys" said Petrie. The kids then parted from Sonic.
Sonic shrugged. "Well, you're welcome of course. But how do you know me and the others?"
The kids' smiles faded. How could Sonic not know them? This world just kept getting more strange.
"You don't remember us?" asked Littlefoot.
Sonic shook his head. "I've never met you kids at any point in my life."
"But we're your friends" said Chomper.
"Yeah, Eggman sent us away. We thought that you came to find us" said Cera.
Sonic raised both eyebrows. "Wait, Eggman sent you here?"
The kids nodded. Knuckles then came in.
"Wait, hold on a minute? How do they know us but we don't know them?" said Knuckles.
"Tails?" Sonic asked his fox friend.
Tails then scratched his chin. "Well, my guess is that they came from another world where we did meet them. So, this could mean that they're from another dimension similar to ours."
"Dimension?" said Cera.
"Think of it as another view from a much different angle" said Tails. The kids still felt confused. Other worlds could exist like theirs?
"Well, that explains a few things" said Knuckles. Sonic then looked at the kids.
"So, you're best friends with this other me?" said Sonic. The kids nodded.
"You helped me and my friends find our way home" said Littlefoot. Sonic then smiled.
"Well, if another version of me says you're ok, then you're ok with me" said Sonic. The kids then smiled again and hugged Sonic. Sonic hugged back this time. Knuckles then came in after the kids parted from Sonic.
"Ok, this is very nice and all, but can you kids tell us how in the world Eggman sent you here?" said Knuckles.
The kids then explained to Team Sonic about how Eggman tricked them in their home and sent them to another time. As far as they know, the Sonic from their world could still be in trouble. Littlefoot then explained a little of their adventures but they didn't mention Iblis. Team Sonic was a bit surprised. Sonic then thought of something.
"Hey, what are your names? You know our names but we don't know yours" said Sonic.
"I'm Littlefoot, a Longneck" said Littlefoot.
"I'm Cera, a Three-Horn" said Cera.
"Me Petrie, a Flyer" said Petrie.
"And I'm Ducky, a Swimmer. And this is my brother Spike. He's a Spike tail" said Ducky. Spike smiled.
"Spike doesn't talk much" said Ducky.
"Adopted brother huh?" said Sonic. Ducky nodded. Chomper then came in.
"I'm Chomper, a friendly Sharptooth" said Chomper.
"I'm Ruby, a Fast Runner" said Ruby.
Sonic smiled and gave a thumbs-up. "It's really nice to meet you kids."
"So that's how they identify themselves" thought Tails.
"So, can you tell us where we are?" asked Cera.
Tails then came in. "You're in a big city called Westopolis."
"Westopolis?" said Cera.
Tails nodded. "Yes, but the city was attacked by the Black Arms. We're trying to save what's left of it. GUN is also helping as well."
"GUN? What's GUN?" said Cera.
"GUN stands for Guardian Units of Nations. Think of them as a force for good" said Tails.
The kids replied with, "Oh." Littlefoot then remembered who the agents were that tried to protect them. Littlefoot then remembered something else.
"Were the Black Arms those red and black creatures attacking others?" said Littlefoot.
Tails nodded. "They seek to conquer not just this city, but the whole world."
"Yeah, they're a bunch of monsters and Shadow's helping them" said Knuckles. The kids gasped.
"But why is Shadow helping them? We thought he was a hero like Sonic" said Ruby.
Sonic shook his head. "Not in this world. He's been tricked into believing that the world killed a friend he loved, and that we and all humans are the enemy."
"Tricked by who?" said Littlefoot.
"By the Black Arms leader. He's called Black Doom" said Tails. The leader's name made the kids feel uneasy. Tails then pulled out his handheld. The kids then sat down as the yellow fox explained to the kids how the black aliens appeared on Earth. They arrived from a meteorite that passes the earth every 50 years known as the Black Comet. Their leader Black Doom seeks to destroy Earth and feed on the humans. The kids felt really surprised and a bit afraid of Black Doom's goal to destroy everything.
"That's terrible!" exclaimed Littlefoot.
"Black Doom's a monster" said Cera.
"He is not good at all. Oh, no, no, no" said Ducky. The other kids also thought the same.
"And Black Doom has chosen Shadow to help him conquer our world" added Tails.
"But why?" said Ruby. Tails then explained about Shadow's origins. The Mobians found out that Shadow was not born but created from a secret experiment called Project Shadow. Tails also explained about how the creator Dr. Gerald Robotnik tried to unlock the secret of eternal life so he could save his granddaughter Maria, who was dying from a neuro disease. The doctor had worked in a spaceship above Earth called the Space Colony Ark. Tails also explained that a while back, GUN had become corrupt and wanted to use Shadow as a weapon. When Gerald refused, GUN shut down the project and arrested Gerald. They were going to capture Shadow but Maria tried to protect him. They were about to fire at Shadow, but Maria got in the way. Maria had died trying to protect Shadow. Shadow got sent away from the Ark and plunged to Earth.
The kids were very astonished at the whole story. Littlefoot now understood who it was that Shadow made a promise to. The kids also felt sad at what happened to Maria. Littlefoot even shed a tear cause he knew what it was like to lose a loved one. Even the Mobians felt a little upset.
"So, why did Shadow break his promise to her?" asked Ruby.
"Well, Shadow has forgotten his promise thanks to Black Doom and because he suffers from amnesia" explained Tails.
"Amnesia?" said Cera.
"What's that?" said Chomper.
"It's a certain illness that causes memory loss. That's why he doesn't remember" said Tails.
"Did you guys try to help him remember his promise?" asked Littlefoot.
Sonic sighed. "We tried, but he believes Black Doom more than us. That's why our friends the Chaotix are helping us. They're looking through some lost data in the Ark to help Shadow see the truth. We're also trying to find out what else Black Doom is planning."
The kids felt astonished that they were in an alternate world where Shadow was evil. The kids felt like that they had to do something.
Sonic looked at Tails. "Tails, we're gonna have to find those Chaos Emeralds so we can send these guys home."
Tails nodded. "Yeah, it's not safe for these dino kids to be here."
"But we want to help too" said Littlefoot. Team Sonic felt surprised.
"Yeah, we want to knock some sense into Shadow" said Cera.
"Shadow's our friend. We want to help. We do" said Ducky.
"Petrie want to help too" said Petrie. Spike nodded and let out, "Uh huh."
"We need to stop Black Doom" added Chomper.
"We want to stay to help Shadow see the truth" said Ruby. Sonic looked at Tails and Knuckles. Both Mobians shrugged. Sonic then looked at the kids.
"You sure that you all want to help? I don't want to see you kids get hurt" said Sonic.
Littlefoot nodded. "We're sure. Shadow needs to see that Black Doom is not his friend."
The other kids also nodded in agreement. Team Sonic then sighed in defeat.
"Ok, but you must stay close to us and let us handle the black aliens" Sonic said with a serious expression. The kids nodded. The group then saw 2 other Mobians running to them. They saw that it was Amy and Rouge.
"Sonic! Guys!" exclaimed Amy.
"What is it Amy?" said Sonic.
"Me and Rouge saw that Shadow is in the center of the city. He has gathered all the Chaos Emeralds" said Amy. Amy then eyed the dino kids. Both Rouge and Amy raised both eyebrows.
"Dinosaurs? In this city?" said Rouge.
"It's ok. They're with us" said Sonic.
"Eggman sent them here" said Knuckles.
"Eggman sent dinosaurs here? But why?" said Rouge.
"It's kind of a long story" said Tails. Amy then smiled.
"I think they're kinda cute" said Amy. She patted Littlefoot's head. Littlefoot felt awkward but he accepted.
"Well, thanks but we have to stop Shadow before he hurts anyone" said Littlefoot.
"Yeah, we better get going" said Cera. The others agreed. The kids followed the Mobians as they went to the central part of the city. They didn't know that Eggman was trying to help fight off the Black Arms too. Though, his intentions aren't really good since he wants to conquer the world. In the center of the city, Shadow had all 7 Chaos Emeralds hovering by him.
"Finally, I got all the Chaos Emeralds. It's now time for my master's plan" said Shadow. Suddenly, Black Doom appeared beside Shadow. Black Doom had 2 long horns that were horizontal and had 3 orange-red eyes.
"Well done Shadow. We can now take this world as our own" said Black Doom.
Shadow nodded. "Yes, I was created to ensure that this world pays for what they had done to me."
Shadow then saw about 20 GUN agents appeared. They all had their weapons ready. Some drove a few vehicles over. Some carried guns and others carried missile launchers.
One agent then stepped forward. "Shadow the Hedgehog, you have put thousands of lives in danger and destroyed parts of this great city. You even sided with the black alien horde and committed a few crimes. By the order of the Guardian Units of Nations, you're under arrest! Stand down now or lethal force will be used!"
Shadow then glared at the agents. "I don't have time for this."
Black Doom then pointed at the agents. "Obliterate them Shadow!"
Shadow then started to glow red and he grinned. "My pleasure."
Some more GUN agents then appeared. They got their weapons pointed at Shadow. They wondered why Shadow was glowing red. The agents felt nervous. This could spell disaster. The leader agent then pointed at Shadow and yelled, "Fire!"
The agents then fired their weapons. Shadow dodged the gunfire with ease and attacked a lot of agents. He punched and kicked a few of them. Some agents then shot rockets but Shadow destroyed them. Shadow then teleported and knocked out some agents.
One agent then called out, "Send them in!"
2 other vehicles then came in. They carried heavy weapons and aimed at Shadow. 20 more agents appeared. They were determined to take down Shadow by any means. Shadow then shot Chaos Spears at some agents. Some agents got hurt really bad. Shadow then had enough as he dodged a few big shots. Shadow then growled and folded his arms in. The agents' eyes went wide.
Shadow then yelled, "Chaos Blast!"
A big red energy wave spread out wide and hit all the agents. After the dust settled, all the agents were severely injured, and the heavy weapons were destroyed. Even the vehicles were destroyed by Shadow's powerful attack. Shadow then hmphed as his red aura faded away.
"Well done, Shadow. This is why I chose you to conquer this world. After all, I helped the professor" said Black Doom.
Shadow then felt surprised and looked at Black Doom. "Wait, you helped the professor create me?"
It looks like Black Doom forgot to mention that he had a hand in Shadow's creation. Or did he forget?
"Yes Shadow. The professor needed a source of power and strength to fully create you. He asked me to help. So, we made a deal. I would give him some of my blood to create you and in return, he would deliver me all the Chaos Emeralds. You were meant to help both of us" said Black Doom.
"Why didn't you mention this before?" asked Shadow.
"You weren't ready to know yet. But now, you do. We will now take this world and all of its resources" said Black Doom. It was like Shadow was Black Doom's son. Shadow then heard a lot of footsteps. He turned to look to see the Mobians running to him, along with the dino kids.
"Shadow, stop!" exclaimed Sonic. The Mobians and the kids saw the damage that Shadow had caused. The kids felt sorry for the hurt agents. The kids then saw the alien leader. The alien leader's appearance scared them a bit, especially since this leader had no legs and was somehow flying. Tails used his handheld. His device told him that all the agents were in critical condition. Shadow then crossed his arms. Sonic then looked at Shadow with a serious expression.
"Shadow, you can't help Black Doom" said Sonic.
"Sonic. I thought you'd come" said Shadow.
"What have you done Shadow?" said Littlefoot.
"You really hurt these guys" said Ruby.
Shadow then frowned. "Not you kids again. I told you to stay away."
"Shadow, Black Doom is not your friend" said Littlefoot.
"Yeah, he wants destroy the world" said Cera.
"No, Black Doom is MY master. I was created to serve him and deliver this world to him" said Shadow.
Tails then stepped in. "No Shadow. You were created to help someone you cared about."
Shadow hmphed. "Help who? There's no one I really cared about."
"Shadow, you were not created to be a weapon but to help Maria and to protect the world" said Tails.
Shadow then raised both eyebrows. "Maria?"
Shadow then closed his eyes. Images of Gerald, Maria, and GUN went through his head. Shadow then held his head. He felts emotions of pain, anger, and sadness. He couldn't tell what they mean.
"Don't listen to them Shadow. You were created to bring destruction to this world" said Black Doom. Black Doom's voice made the kids feel uneasy and afraid.
Shadow then opened his eyes. But Shadow felt doubtful. Black Doom then narrowed his eyes and held out a hand in Shadow's direction. Shadow then felt a bit of pain. Shadow then narrowed his eyes at the others.
"No, I was created to help my master and make this world pay" said Shadow.
The kids gasped and the Mobians raised both eyebrows. Black Doom then laughed.
"You see. Shadow belongs to me now. (He moves his hands upwards and the emeralds flow to him) Let us begin the next phase of the plan" said Black Doom.
"What's he going to do?" said Chomper. The Mobians then got ready.
"Chaos Control!" shouted Black Doom. The emeralds then flashed brightly. The kids then closed their eyes from the bright light.
Up in space, the Black Comet circled the planet. Suddenly, the comet vanished in a flash of light. In the Ark, the Chaotix saw that the comet vanished. Espio was working on the computer. Vector then looked at Espio.
"We need to hurry Espio! That crazy alien leader is gonna destroy our world if you don't get that secret message going!" exclaimed Vector.
"I'm working on it!" exclaimed Espio.
"I hope our friends are ok" said Charmy.
Meanwhile, back on Earth, the comet was teleported to the ground. It landed near a part of the city. Suddenly, multiple tentacles then shot out into the ground. The comet started to absorb part of the Earth's energy.
Back with the group, they heard a big slam in the city. The group looked around.
"What was that? What just happened?" said Amy.
"What did Black Doom do?" asked Ruby. Tails then looked at his handheld. His device showed him that a strange and very large object appeared in the city. It was the Black Comet.
"He warped the comet to the surface using the emeralds!" exclaimed Tails.
"No, that can't be!" exclaimed Rouge.
Sonic then hmphed. "So that's why you needed the emeralds, wasn't it Black Doom?"
Black Doom then laughed evilly. "Precisely. The comet's velocity isn't powerful enough to pass through the planet's atmosphere. The emeralds grant the time power of Chaos Control. It's the perfect plan to take this world as ours."
Sonic then got ready and the Mobians did the same. "We're not gonna let you destroy this world. You're gonna have to stop us first."
Black Doom laughed again. "Such bravery for a little hedgehog. But that won't save you in the end."
Black Doom then summoned his alien army. A whole bunch of black aliens appeared. About 30 of them. The kids felt afraid but the Mobians felt brave. The aliens surrounded them. Sonic then told the kids to hide. The kids did as they were told and hid behind some piles of debris. Black Doom then commanded his army.
"Aliens! Destroy them all!" shouted Black Doom. The black aliens then charged. The Mobians then charged too. Sonic and Knuckles fought some stronger aliens while Rouge and Tails fought some black hawks. Amy fought with her hammer. The Mobians started to win the fight. The black aliens were strong but the Mobians were stronger. After some time, almost all the aliens were knocked down. But then Black Doom summoned more from the Black Comet. The Mobians fought hard but even more black aliens ran to them. The Mobians felt surprised.
"Man, no matter how many we defeat, they just keep coming!" exclaimed Sonic.
"Let's fight harder then!" exclaimed Knuckles. The Mobians kept fighting. Sonic then decided to confront Shadow. Shadow then got ready. The kids kept their eyes on Sonic and Shadow. Sonic and Shadow then zoomed at each other. They both hit each other with great speed. They moved so fast that the kids kept trying to keep their eyes on them. After some time, the Mobians were getting a little tired. More black aliens appeared.
"(Growl) How many aliens does Black Doom have?!" exclaimed Knuckles.
"I don't know! But we can't give up!" exclaimed Tails.
"I won't let them hurt all of these innocent lives!" exclaimed Amy. Suddenly, some robots and egg bots appeared. They helped to turn the tide of the battle. The robots fought the black aliens. The other Mobians saw that Eggman arrived.
"Eggman?" exclaimed Knuckles.
"Don't get too comfortable everyone. I'm just here to stop them from destroying this city so I can take over it" said Eggman. The Mobians frowned at Eggman but they had to accept it for now. They were going to need help to stop the evil aliens.
Sonic and Shadow fought some more but neither one could best the other. Sonic was not going to give up. Black Doom then stepped in. He created some sort of black, red, and purple ball.
"Here Shadow, use this" said Black Doom. The alien leader then threw the ball at Shadow. The ball then covered Shadow like some sort of ooze. The kids felt disgusted as the ooze started to change Shadow. After a few seconds, the ooze absorbed into Shadow. Sonic and the kids' eyes went wide. Even the other Mobians' eyes went wide. Shadow was turned into some kind of dark creature. He had black, red, and dark blue skin and his quills looked sharp. The iris was dark yellow and white of the eyes was now black. Shadow also had dark red wings folded in. Shadow now looked like some sort of demon.
Shadow the Darkling: Appearance is similar to Eclipse the Darkling from the Sonic Comics.
Shadow then had a creepy grin. "Now, you're mine Sonic."
Shadow's voice had a deeper tone to it. The kids felt really afraid at what Shadow had become. Sonic had wide eyes but then glared at Shadow. He got ready. Shadow then charged and so did Sonic. For a moment they were still evenly matched, but then Shadow started to win. Shadow proved to be much stronger. The new armor had given Shadow new strength and durability. Sonic started to get beat down by Shadow's new power. Sonic then got knocked to the ground. Shadow then crossed his arms. But then Sonic slowly started to stand up.
Black Doom then chuckled. "Persistent little hedgehog. Take him down Shadow."
Shadow then laughed darkly and attacked Sonic some more. The other Mobians then saw that Sonic was in trouble. They heard Sonic's painful cries. The other Mobians then rushed to Sonic's side. But even the other Mobians weren't strong enough for Shadow. The Mobians got knocked down one by one by punches or Chaos Spears from Shadow. Shadow had a dark grin. The Mobians then stood back up. Sonic got in his fighting stance. Shadow then frowned at Sonic. It was time to finish this. Shadow started to glow red. The Mobians' eyes grew wide. The kids gasped. They all knew what Shadow was planning next. Shadow folded his arms in.
"Guys, run!" shouted Littlefoot. But it was too late as Shadow shouted out, "Chaos Blast!"
A big red energy blast shot outward fast. The kids closed their eyes from the great red light. The Mobians shielded with their arms as they got hit. After a few seconds, the kids opened their eyes. The kid gasped in fear and shock. All the Mobians were lying on the ground. They were all greatly injured by the energy blast. Sonic then tried to stand but fell down. Shadow then let out a small laugh.
"It's over Sonic. This world now belongs to Black Doom" said Shadow. Sonic then tried to stand up again. He barely had the strength to stand.
"I... won't let you... do this... Shadow" Sonic stammered.
Shadow hmphed. "Such foolishness. It's time to end this. Good-bye Sonic the Hedgehog."
Shadow then got ready to throw a powerful Chaos Spear. Sonic breathed heavily. The kids then gasped but then frowned at Shadow. All the kids then ran to Sonic.
"Stop!" exclaimed Littlefoot.
Shadow stopped and narrowed his eyes at the kids. The kids then stood in front of Sonic.
"Kids... don't do it... get out of... here" Sonic said weakly. But the kids stood their ground.
"Sonic's our friend. We will not leave him" Littlefoot said with bravery.
"So back off Shadow" said Cera. The other kids also felt brave.
Black Doom then laughed. "A bunch of lizard children think they can stop me and Shadow? You're more foolish than I thought you were. What chance do you have against me and my army?"
"We have heart Black Doom. We care more about our friends than power" said Littlefoot.
"Yeah, that's something you will never have you monster" said Cera.
"You don't understand friendship. Oh no, no, no" said Ducky. Spike then let out a brave grunt.
"We stand by Sonic and friends" said Petrie. Chomper and Ruby stood their ground as well.
"We won't let you hurt our friends" said Chomper.
"Because Sonic's part of our family" said Ruby. Even though the kids were in a much different world, they would still defend Sonic.
Black Doom then let out a laugh. Shadow did the same.
"Your bravery is admirable but foolish and mistaken. You won't stand a chance against us. Destroy them Shadow" said Black Doom. Shadow then stepped forward. But before Shadow could attack, the emeralds then circled around the kids. The emeralds started to circle faster. Shadow raised both eyebrows. Even Black Doom felt surprised.
"What's this?" said Black Doom. The kids then turned super. Sonic then faintly smiled. The other Mobians started to get up. They felt surprised when they saw the kids had the power of the emeralds. The super kids then glared at Black Doom.
"Your evil rule stops now, Black Doom!" exclaimed Littlefoot.
"Yeah!" shouted the other kids. Shadow then got his wings ready. Both Shadow and Black Doom took off into the sky. The kids watched the 2 beings fly into the sky.
"Go after them" said Sonic. The kids then looked at Sonic.
"But what about you Sonic?" said Littlefoot.
"Don't worry, we'll be alright. You kids are our only hope now" said Sonic.
"Go stop Black Doom" said Tails.
"Knock some sense into Shadow" added Knuckles.
"But..." started Littlefoot.
"It's ok. We'll handle the black aliens. We believe in you" said Sonic.
"You can do it" said Tails. The kids then looked into the sky and back at Sonic. The kids then had brave expressions and nodded.
"Now, go!" exclaimed Sonic.
"Let's go guys!" Littlefoot said to the other kids.
"Right!" shouted the other kids. The kids then took off into the sky. They chased after Shadow and Black Doom.
"I hope the Chaotix find the last message of Gerald soon" thought Sonic.
Battle theme: 'Galaxy Monkey' from Ape Escape
The kids then found Shadow and Black Doom near the Black Comet. Black Doom then glared at the kids.
"Get rid of them Shadow" said Black Doom.
"Understood" said Shadow. Shadow then flew to the kids.
"Shadow, you have to stop. This is not what Maria would want" Littlefoot pleaded.
Shadow then glared. "I've had enough of you kids! I'm taking you all down once and for all!"
Shadow then zoomed at the kids. The kids then zoomed as well. The kids fought against Shadow and Shadow fought back. The other Mobians saw flashes of light from the great battle that took place in the sky. The kids and Shadow fought hard. Chomper then roared a sonic roar. Shadow went flying but recovered like it was nothing.
Meanwhile, the Chaotix found the last message using Tails' tech but they couldn't get the message to work.
Vector then groaned. "Why won't it work?"
"I don't know" said Espio.
"We gotta get moving before it's too late" said Vector. Charmy then had an idea.
"I've got it! Get outta the way!" exclaimed Charmy. Charmy then flew forward at the computer.
"Charmy, wait!" exclaimed Vector. Charmy then bashed the computer with his shoulder. The message then went through and started to upload.
"Hey, it's working!" exclaimed Vector.
"Hopefully, this message will get Shadow to see the truth" said Espio. They uploaded the secret message to all screens in the city. It was a little damaged but it was working. The Chaotix saw Gerald on the screen.
Back with the kids, both the super kids and Shadow were evenly matched. Before they fought some more, everyone heard a great voice.
"Shadow, my son" said a voice.
Shadow's eyes went wide. "Professor?"
Black Doom then frowned. "What trick is this?"
"If you're listening to this, then the worst has happened. (Static) You need to know the truth" said Gerald.
The Mobians felt happy that the Chaotix finally got the message to work. The kids were a little surprised.
The message went on, "The government plans to shut down this research facility. They plan to cease all of our research. (Static) And imprison all who know about you."
The GUN main base was hearing the message as well. The US president and the GUN commander was there at the base.
"I made a terrible mistake Shadow. It's all my fault, making contact with that comet and Black Doom."
The president and the commander felt surprised. "Professor Gerald?" said the commander.
"Now listen very carefully. In 50 years, the Black Comet will return. (Static) The black aliens plan to harness its powers to destroy our planet. The only way to stop them was to develop a new power. A new weapon that was made on the Ark known as the Eclipse Cannon. It's the only weapon that can destroy that Black Comet.
Shadow then felt really surprised. The kids felt surprised about the new weapon.
"Shadow, it's up to you and only YOU can stop them. You're our only hope to save mankind as we know it. The future of this planet depends on you!"
Shadow now felt doubtful. He wasn't created to destroy the planet. The Mobians were right. Shadow and the kids then heard another voice that was Maria's.
"Don't worry grandfather. Shadow and I will protect this planet. Right Shadow?"
The message then ended. Shadow felt lost. He couldn't decide what to do. The kids felt sorry for Shadow.
Black Doom then laughed. "Foolish Gerald. Shadow's already in my control. He was made to help only me. Destroy those kids Shadow, so we can take this world."
The kids then frowned at Black Doom but then they turned back to Shadow. Littlefoot then flew over to Shadow. Shadow looked at Littlefoot with sad eyes and confusion. Littlefoot then had a caring expression.
"I'm sorry that you lost Maria, Shadow. I also lost somebody dear to me. But you're not alone Shadow. You have friends who care about you. You don't have to listen to Black Doom. He's not your friend at all" said Littlefoot.
Littlefoot then did something that Shadow didn't expect at all. He hugged Shadow. Black Doom then had wide eyes. Shadow felt astonished. A little dinosaur was hugging him. The other kids then flew over and did the same. They all hugged Shadow. Shadow then closed his eyes. Some of his memories flowed through his mind.
In Shadow's memories...
Maria was running with Shadow. The GUN agents followed them. Shadow and Maria entered a room full of escape pods.
"Halt! You're coming with us!" A GUN agent said as the agents cornered Shadow and Maria.
"Maria, let's go!" exclaimed Shadow. Maria then looked at the agents and then at Shadow. Maria then pulled a lever and Shadow was sealed inside an escape pod.
"Maria, what are you doing?!" exclaimed Shadow.
"I'm sorry Shadow. I'm doing this for you. I can't go with you. Promise me that you will protect our world. That you'll give people a chance to be happy" said Maria. A GUN agent growled and pointed a gun at Shadow. Shadow's eyes went wide.
"We can't let that thing escape!" exclaimed an agent. Maria felt brave and ran in front of Shadow. The agent then fired. But another agent yelled, "Wait, stop!"
(BANG)
Maria got hit and fell to the floor. Shadow was in shock.
"Maria!" yelled Shadow. Maria then looked at Shadow weakly.
"Promise me Shadow. Bring hope to all humans" said Maria.
"But Maria..." pleaded Shadow.
"Please" said Maria.
"I... I will. I promise" said Shadow.
Maria faintly smiled. "Good-bye, Shadow the Hedgehog."
The escape pod then ejected from the Ark. Maria had died. Shadow plunged towards Earth.
"Maria..." Shadow said with sadness.
Back in the real world...
The kids stilled hugged Shadow. Shadow then shed a tear. He remembered his promise. Suddenly, the emeralds' energy flowed into Shadow. The kids parted from Shadow. They saw cracks forming all over Shadow's body. Shadow then shed his alien armor. The armor faded into dust. He was himself again. Shadow then turned super. He glowed with golden energy. The kids then smiled. Black Doom then felt surprised.
"What's this? This cannot be" said Black Doom. Black Doom then tried to use the mind control from earlier. But this time, it had no effect. Shadow then frowned at Black Doom.
"I'm Shadow the Hedgehog. I now know who I truly am. I'm nobody's puppet of destruction. I was created to protect this world. I made a promise to someone I loved and I intent to keep it. I will destroy you Black Doom!" said Shadow. The kids felt really happy. The kids then looked at Black Doom.
"You're in trouble now Black Doom" Cera said with a grin.
"Shadow will not help you destroy this world" said Littlefoot. The other kids did one nod.
Black Doom got angry at Shadow. "I gave you life and this is how you repay me?!"
"You may have helped create me but I was never meant to serve you. It's time to atone for what I've done. It's time for you disappear Black Doom!" said Shadow. Shadow then looked at the kids.
"Let's go!" exclaimed Shadow.
"Right!" yelled the kids.
"Very well. Prepare to die!" yelled Black Doom.
Battle theme: 'Fight the Knight' from Sonic and the Black Knight
Black Doom then shot fire and small meteors at Shadow and the kids. The heroes fought back and destroyed the meteors. The fire didn't have much effect. Black Doom then created clones of himself. Shadow then used his Chaos Blast and destroyed the clones. Shadow used Chaos Spears at Black Doom. The kids then helped using their own abilities. Black Doom then got really angry. He started to glow with dark energy.
"Your past, present, and future ends here! You will all suffer my true wrath!" yelled Black Doom.
Shadow and the kids watched Black Doom change size and started transforming into a real monster. He had 2 heads. One connected to the front and the other to the back. He had enormous wings and one large eye on each head. The kids were astonished and afraid of this form, but they seized the courage. He had become the monster known as 'Devil Doom.'
Doom summoned a lot of meteors from space and he summoned large debris from below. He summoned parts of buildings and wrecked cars with telekinesis. He threw a lot of them at the heroes. The heroes blasted through the debris. Cera then charged at Doom. But when she got too close, Doom teleported away. The heroes saw Doom a little feet away.
"It looks like we can't get too close or he'll disappear away from us" said Littlefoot.
"We have to attack from the right distance" said Ruby.
"Understood. Let's go" said Shadow. The kids nodded. The heroes then flew over a little towards Doom. Doom made the meteors shoot lasers at the heroes. The heroes dodged the lasers. The heroes used their own Chaos Spears. But their attacks weren't doing much damage to his body. His skin was very thick.
"It's not working" said Cera. Shadow then tried something. He charged a Chaos Spear and hit the eye. Doom growled in pain. The kids gasped. This reminded them of their fight with Iblis.
"That's it! Aim for his eye!" exclaimed Littlefoot. Doom then growled and breathed out a large beam of fire. The heroes dodged and hit the eye again. Doom growled in pain.
"It seems I underestimated you children. But you won't win" said Devil Doom.
"We'll see about that Black Doom" said Cera. The heroes fought harder and Doom was getting tired out.
"Let's finish this!" exclaimed Shadow.
"Right!" exclaimed the kids. Shadow and the kids put their hands together, about to unleash the most powerful Chaos Spear. A ball of energy started to grow. Doom then looked at the heroes with a wide eye.
"CHAOS SPEAR!" shouted the heroes. They shot out their spear. It flew towards Doom like a powerful comet. It hit and made a huge explosion.
"But I'm the ultimate being! Nooooooooo!" exclaimed Doom. The Chaos Spear destroyed Black Doom for good. When the smoke cleared, Black Doom was gone. Shadow then hmphed in pride. The kids then cheered in happiness. They defeated the alien monster.
"Yay, we did it!" exclaimed Littlefoot.
"You can say that again" said Cera.
"We saved Sonic and the city. We did" said Ducky.
"We save the world" said Petrie. The other kids also agreed.
"Yes, but we're not done yet" said Shadow. The kids looked at Shadow.
"What do you mean Shadow?" asked Littlefoot.
"We have to destroy the black comet" stated Shadow.
"He's right" said Littlefoot.
"Come" said Shadow. The kids nodded. Shadow and the kids flew to the comet. The Mobians saw that Shadow and the kids destroyed Black Doom. Shadow and the kids got under the large comet.
"Together kids!" exclaimed Shadow.
"Right!" exclaimed the kids. The heroes put a hand on the comet.
"CHAOS CONTROL!" yelled the heroes. The comet was teleported away in a flash of light. It was teleported to space near the Ark. Shadow and the kids teleported to the Ark. Shadow got to the controls. The kids said hi to the Chaotix and the Chaotix did the same. Though, the Chaotix didn't know the kids in this time. The kids watched Shadow turn on the Eclipse Cannon. It charged with great green energy. It shot a powerful beam at the comet. The comet exploded into nothingness. All the agents, even the Commander and the President, cheered at Shadow for destroying the comet. Shadow and the kids had saved their world. The president then said that it was astonishing that Shadow saved everyone despite how GUN had treated him. The president then said they must all work together to build a better and brighter future for all. The Commander agreed.
Back in the city, Eggman flew away since with the black comet destroyed, all the black aliens disappeared. And because GUN was watching, the mean doctor couldn't take over the city. He vowed yet again that he'll be back. Shadow and the kids then teleported back to the other Mobians.
"You did it guys! You saved us and the whole world!" exclaimed Sonic.
"Thanks for helping us!" exclaimed Tails.
"You're welcome" Littlefoot said with a smile. The other kids nodded. The emeralds' powers then faded away. Shadow and the kids turned back to normal. Shadow then looked at the kids.
"Thanks for helping me see the truth. Reminding me why I made my promise to Maria" said Shadow. The kids nodded.
Littlefoot then stepped forward. "Maria would be proud of you. Of how you saved the world and our friends."
Shadow nodded. "And I believe that the one you loved would be proud of you too."
Littlefoot felt really happy. Littlefoot then hugged Shadow. The other kids did the same. Shadow felt surprised but he hugged back too. The Mobians smiled.
"Yeah, yeah, that's enough" Shadow said as he was done hugging. The kids laughed a little as they parted. Littlefoot then remembered something.
"Oh, no! The Sonic we know is still in trouble" said Littlefoot.
"That's right. Our Sonic is trapped by the Eggman from our world" said Ruby.
"We have to help him" said Ducky.
"So what we do?" said Petrie.
"You don't have to do anything" said Shadow.
The kids let out, "Huh?"
"What do you mean? We have to help the Sonic we know" said Cera.
"Cause I'm going to help you" Shadow said with a grin. The kids then smiled. Shadow then absorbed the emeralds and became super again. He created a portal and told the kids to follow. Shadow went into the portal. The kids then said their good-byes and hugged the other Mobians. The Mobians waved good-bye. The kids then went through the portal.
Back in the dino world...
Sonic woke up to being chained to a chair. Eggman pointed a laser at Sonic. Sonic then glared at Eggman.
"You won't get away with this Eggman!" exclaimed Sonic.
"Oh, I'm afraid I already have. Farewell Sonic!" said Eggman. But before Eggman pushed the button, a portal appeared. Super Shadow then appeared from the portal.
"What? Shadow?" said Eggman.
"Shadow? You're super?" said Sonic.
Shadow had a cocky grin. "Hello, Sonic. I've brought some friends over."
The dino kids then stepped out of the portal as well. Sonic then smiled. Eggman felt very confused.
"Kids, you're ok!" said Sonic.
"Of course we are. Shadow helped us" said Littlefoot. Sonic felt confused.
"It's a long story" said Ruby. The other kids also nodded.
"What? How did you kids find your way back with Shadow?" said Eggman.
"That doesn't matter now. Time to teach you a lesson Doctor" said Shadow. Shadow then broke Sonic's bonds and destroyed parts of the ship.
"No! My ship!" shouted Eggman. Shadow told the others to hide. The others nodded and went to hide as Shadow was about unleash his Chaos Blast.
Outside, Daxter still waited for Sonic and the others. Suddenly, a big part of the top of ship exploded. Daxter flinched from the explosion. Shadow then flew out from the hole. Daxter frowned at Shadow.
"Hey, you're not Sonic. Who are you? Where did you get the emeralds?" said Daxter. Shadow then looked at Daxter. He guessed that Daxter wasn't a friend. He aimed at Daxter with his hand. Daxter's eyes went wide.
"Chaos Spear!" shouted Shadow. The energy spear hit Daxter and he went flying a little far away.
"You'll pay for thaaaaaaaaaaaattttttt!" shouted Daxter. Shadow then hmphed and flew back. Shadow got Sonic and the kids out of the ship.
"Thanks for helping Shadow" Sonic said as he gave a thumbs-up. Shadow nodded.
"Yeah, thanks Shadow" said Littlefoot.
"It's time for me to head back. Good bye" said Shadow. The kids said their good byes as well as Shadow created another portal and left to his time. The portal then closed. The kids then told Sonic of their adventure with an alternate Shadow. Sonic was quite astonished with the story. The kids then said that they should keep this a secret from their parents. Sonic agreed as they walked back to the Valley. The kids need some rest and some nice green food after their long journey. They laughed a little as they heard Eggman yell out, "Blast you Shadow and Sonic!"
Back in Shadow's time...
Shadow was in the Ark as he held an old photograph of Gerald and Maria. He missed them both. He knows that he must keep his promise.
"Professor... Maria... may you both rest in peace" said Shadow. The black hedgehog then put down the photograph and walked away.
