Chapter 7

SG-1 made their way to the Gate in an attempt to dial back to the SGC for food and reinforcements while Professor Snape guarded the children and the village.

While they walked the trail Sam spoke with her childhood friend. "I wish you had told me about all this, Robin."

She sighed, "I wanted to but my parents wouldn't let me. And after I grew up, I figured no one would believe me anyways."

"I understand that." she agreed. "Just wish I knew sooner than…yesterday."

Jack walked up ahead of the team. He pulled the magic wand from his sleeve and then spoke to Daniel, "What would be the magic word for tickets?"

"Why?" he asked.

"I was thinking I could get some tickets to the World Series." he admitted. He waved the wand about, "Ya know…poof it."

Daniel looked back at Robin, "Jack wants to use your wand to poof himself tickets to World Series."

She marched up ahead and held out her hand, "Give it."

"I'm your C.O.." he rebutted.

Sam also marched ahead, "Sir! I suggest you give the wand back. You could say the wrong word and do actual damage."

He pouted a bit and handed it back to Robin. He muttered, "There goes my tickets."

Robin tucked her wand up her sleeve and then held her hand out before her at an angle. She stated "Tessa duo World Series." In her hand appeared two tickets to the game. She handed them to Jack. "Here."

He took the offering. He was surprised by real it looked and felt in his hands. "Are these real?" he asked.

She nodded.

"Thanks," he replied surprised.

Sam asked, "Why did you do that, Robin?"

"Otherwise he would be trying to conjure them up on his own and trying to get his hands on my wand. He's stubborn." she stated. "So, I just gave him mine."

"Wait," Sam paused. "You just conjure yourself up tickets whenever you want to go to some game or show?"

She shook her head, "No…I bought those. They were home in my safe. I brought them here."

Daniel gasped, "You transported tickets from one planet to another!"

She stopped in her tracks and thought about the feat. "I'll be damned! I did do that, didn't I?"

He figured, "You didn't realize that until now?"

She shook her head, "You can do it anywhere on the planet, except for certain lay lines but…" she cocked her head. "You can teleport from one planet to another?" She stood pondering the feat. "Hmm…"

Daniel suggested, "We should ask Professor Snape if that's possible for wizards to do."

Sam figured, "If Morgan and Professor Snape could just use their 'magic' to get off this planet and back home, they would have done so by now. They are stuck here because they don't know the dialing address back to Earth." She concluded, "I don't think they can. Snape said Robin was more powerful than she realized and powerful enough to take on Morgan."

Sam looked upon her friend's expression as she used her fingers to replay how she got the tickets from her safe and into Jack's hands. She looked absolutely befuddled to Sam. "You don't know how you did it?"

"I know I did it." she stated. "It's just I didn't think I could do it through outer space."

Jack handed the tickets back to her, "I'm not taking your tickets."

She retrieved the tickets and informed, "I do have an extra one. I bought two in case I could find a friend to come with me. She handed him one of the tickets back. "You take this one."

"Thanks, Hood." he took the ticket. "I'll pay ya for it."

"Don't worry about it." she waved it off. "I may not be able to go this year anyways."

Curiously Jack asked, "Why not?"

She explained, "My class reunion is at Hogwarts on the same day and I promised Professor Dumbledore that I would come and see everyone. He wants to me to tell the students about muggle careers and the military. Hogwarts is a school for magic but it's not a school where you learn things for employment. Many students get out of Hogwarts and then go to a normal college or military school. Since I'm an American, he wanted me to tell them about my career in the U.S. Air Force."

Jack suggested kidding, "Bring Carter and you two can do a presentation together."

Robin pondered the suggestion, "I wonder if the Professor would let me do that? Sam would be way better at recruiting than I would be."

Daniel wondered, "How many witches, wizards and sorcerers are there in the world?"

She didn't know for sure, "Hundred…thousands…" she admitted, "I don't know."

He figured. "Then there could be others like you in the military."

She looked to Jack, "Including some who can do magic and don't know it."

Jack pleaded, "Can I play with the wand some more?"

"No!" she shook her head and started forward towards the Gate. Sam followed along with Teal'c.

Daniel stood behind and looked at Jack shaking his head.

"What?" he asked.

He stated, "You don't ask a sorceress if you can play with her wand, Jack."

"She let me play with it before." he informed.

He huffed, "I'm sure there is some etiquette to it all."

Jack gave a shrug and walked on by.

Daniel followed still shaking his head.

They arrived at the Gate and Daniel went to the DHD. He was about to dial when he felt a strange presence, like someone looking over his shoulder. He paused and looked about. In the tree above sat a familiar looking bird. He turned and looked at his teammates.

Jack stated, "Dial out Daniel."

He pointed, "Does that bird look familiar?"

All eyes landed on the bird. Suddenly the bird took flight and came down to land and transformed into Morgan le Fay. The sorceress stood before her audience. "You will tell me the code." she demanded.

Daniel refused, "No."

She raised her hands and released a energy bolt. It hit Daniel directly. He was thrown up and over the DHD landing flat on his back. He was winded and couldn't breathe or move.

The team took up a defensive stance as Sam ran to his aid. Robin placed her wand into Jack's palm and whispered in his hear, "Aguamenti" as she took up a defense position near him.

Jack held the wand in one hand and his rifle in the other. It was a delicate balancing act for sure but he was also trained to shoot one handed if need be.

Morgan demanded, "Give me the code."

SG-1 refused.

She attacked once more and a stream of fire erupting from her hands like a flame thrower.

Robin instructed, "Now sir."

Jack used the wand, "Aguamenti." He hoped he got the right word. Out of the wand came a stream of water at full force much like a fire hose. The water spell countered the fire and extinguished the flame throwing spell.

Morgan attempted another attack but this time she found an ion shield in place around the team and the Gate. She looked to Robin.

"You cannot hold the shield forever." she sneered.

"I don't have to." she rebutted. "Just long enough to keep you away."

She declared, "I will get that code. You have 24 hours or I start executing prisoners."

Jack asked, "What prisoners?"

"The villagers." she proclaimed. "I will start with the leader. It will be done openly so the children can watch their parents die." She then took a step back and turned slightly, transfiguring herself into a raven and flying off into the distance.

Jack miffed, "Not sure I am ever gonna get use to that turning into a bird and flying away thing." He looked to Robin, "Anyway to stop her from doing that?"

She shrugged, "Birdshot and 12 gauge." She knew of spells that could hinder the feat but those were difficult to cast. The simplest solution was to employ hunting equipment.

The Colonel smirked, "I'm beginning to like the way you think."

She admitted, "It must be an American thing because when I suggested that in school…" she shook her head recalling the verbal lashing she got.

Daniel had scrambled to his feet upon regaining his breath with Sam's aid.

Jack asked, "You okay?"

He gave a slow nod, "That really knocked the wind out of me. I don't think anything is broke though. I'm sore." He asked Robin, "What did she hit me with?"

"Plasma bolt!" she told him. "Pretty standard for sorcerers. Not so much for wizards and witches."

Sam figured, "Both your parents are sorcerers. Right Rob?"

She nodded, "Both."

"Then they can do what you can do. They can cast that plasma bolt as well." she figured.

"They can." she agreed.

Sam looked to Jack, "Sir…if Morgan gets the dialing address and dials the SGC and somehow gets through, we won't have anyway of keeping her from escaping the base. All we got is Robin and Professor Snape and I'm not too sure he will help us. Maybe we should think about bringing in Robin's parents as backup, sir."

Jack admitted, "I'm not sure how to even explain all this to Hammond to begin with."

"It's worth a shot." she figured and looked to Robin.

She added, "My folks will help but only because I'm involved. They wouldn't bother otherwise."

Jack figured, "We will see if we can get your folks brought in."
