Witch Club

Chapter 7: Retrieving the Heart

It was noon at Alfea College and the students were having lunch, the only ones absent were Azar, who was on Eraklyon preparing for a special occasion, and the Dragon Force Rangers, who were having a meeting with the Witch's Council about the Heart of Magix.

"This is all my fault," said Zoran solemnly.

"No, it isn't, bro," Candra reassured, "The Jinx deceived you."

"Yeah, but I'm the one who fell for it. If only I had seen it from the start, then maybe Lee wouldn't have given up the crystal."

"He would've done it for any of us, Z," Brenton reassured.

"Yeah, but now they have to pay for my mistakes. Same with the rest of the Magic Dimension."

"Don't worry, I'm sure the Witch's Council is already thinking of a way to get it back."

"They'd better before they…," Zoran stopped himself, causing the others to look at each other confused.

"Is there something you're not telling us?" Karsyn asked.

Zoran sighed, "Alchemy plans to use the Heart of Magix to increase her magic so she can steal the Book of Shadows and their powers so she can find her brother."

"She can't," Matt said from behind them, startling the Rangers. The Rangers were back from their meeting with the Witch's Council.

"What do you mean?" Jay asked, confused.

"If she tried to use the Heart of Magix for anything it would sense her dark magic and reject her," said Matt.

"So, what else did the Witch's Council say?" asked Brenton, putting Lee on his lap.

"We have to go to Orion to retrieve the Heart," said Lee.

"What?!" asked Nerio, "That place is too dangerous!"

"We have to do this," said Phillip, "We have to get the crystal back some way."

"Besides, this is our mission," said Joshua, "We'll have to do this ourselves."

"Forget it," said Jay, "I'm the leader of this group and I say we do this together."

"Besides, I'm sure Ms. Faragonda won't mind if we tag along," said Clay.

"And you'd be right," said Ms. Faragonda from behind them, "Although this mission is only for the Rangers, I believe the Witch Club as a whole will be needed to protect them."

"I'm going, too," Skyler said, getting up.

"Same here," added Grant, rising from his seat.

"Ditto," added Brandon, standing up. Without saying a word, Brian rose with them.

"Thanks, guys," said Taylor.

"Brenton, I believe it will be best if you and the other children of the Winx remain here and guard the Book of Shadows," said Ms. Faragonda.

"Ah agree with Ms. Faragonda," said Matt, "We can't let Alchemy, Ciena, or the Jinx get their thievin' hands on it."

"Don't worry, it's safe in our dorm," said Zoran, "It's the least we could do since…"

"Zoran, stop!" Matt interrupted.

"It wasn't your fault," Lee added.

"We've been telling him that all day," said Nerio.

"So, what's first?" asked Brenton, letting Lee get up from his lap.

"We need to find Lockette," said Lee, "See if she can find us an open portal to Orion."

"The only problem is the Pixies have moved their village so much, It's not going to be easy to find her," said Phillip.

"Don't worry, I think I know someone that could help," said Ms. Faragonda.

Minutes later, Ms. Faragonda led the Witch Club and the Winx's children to the Magic Archive Room.

"Hello again, Faragonda," said a voice. It was Concorda, the Guardian Pixie of the Codex. She, the Pixies, and the Pixie Pets flew over to the group, "It is wonderful to see you again. And I see you brought the Winx's children with you as well as some new fairies. What can I do for you?"

"We need to borrow Lockette," said Ms. Faragonda, "The rangers need a portal to Orion."

"Orion?!" The Pixies gasped in shock.

"Princess Alchemy stole the Heart of Magix and we must get it back," said Lee. The Pixies looked at Lockette who nodded.

"I'll see if I can find it," said Lockette.

Meanwhile, on Orion, like the Witch's Council suspected, the Heart of Magix was rejecting Alchemy, constantly repelling her everytime she touched it. Currently, the Jinx were using a spell to break down its defenses. The crystal however continued to fight back and repelled them with a magenta energy wave, causing all three of them to crash into a different wall.

Erebus cursed under his breath rubbing his head.

"Well, that didn't work," Molan mumbled.

"That was the strongest spell we had!" shouted Edur, "How could it not work?!"

"Forget it," said Alchemy frustrated, "We'll find another way." She picked up the crystal as it continued to defy her and threw it at the wall causing it to fall to the ground.

Back at Alfea, the Witch Club were getting ready to go on their trip to Orion. Brenton pulled Lee into a hug.

"Be careful," Brenton whispered.

"I will," Lee reassured as Brenton let him go and the Witch Club and their friends went on their way.

The group followed Lockette to Pixie Village where she put her skills to work. Lockette casted her magic arrow spell to find an open portal to Orion, unfortunately there was no open portal. Suddenly, Lockette had an idea. The group followed her to the Tree of Portals where they met Ninfea.

"Hello, Lockette," she greeted, "Who are your new friends."

"They are the Witch Club," Lockette introduced, "They need help to retrieve the Heart of Magix from Princess Alchemy."

"I see." The group then bowed to Ninfea. She approached them and sensed Lee, Joshua, Taylor, Phillip, and Matt's powers.

"So, you five are the Dragon Force," said Ninfea. The rangers nodded.

"There is a key inside this tree that should open a portal to Orion."

"Lockette can fit in there, but the rest of us are a little too big," said Karsyn.

"I can use my mutant powers to go in with her," said Shelby.

"And with their Enchantix powers, Kendal and Josh can use the Miniaturization ability," Lee added.

Lockette and Ninfea were shocked.

"How do you know about the Enchantix powers, child?" asked Ninfea.

"Lee kind of has some knowledge about magic," said Joshua.

"He's basically a walking Book of Shadows," added Taylor.

"Well, it just might work," said Kendal.

"Okay," said Josh.

"Magic Winx!" Shelby shouted as she transformed into her Winx form.

"Magic Winx! Enchantix!" shouted Kendal and Josh as they transformed into their Enchantix form.

Shelby used her mutant powers to shrink herself down to Lockette and Ninfea's size while Kendal and Josh utilized Fairy Dust to remove traces of darkness inside of themselves, allowing them to miniaturize.

"Wish us luck," said Shelby, Kendal, and Josh flew into the Tree of Life with Lockette.

Once inside, the fairies were amazed by the inside of the tree. Lockette, then, summoned her Magic Arrow again and it led them to Orion's key. It was a cream-colored key with a black tint which symbolized Orion being consumed by evil.

While this was going on, back on Orion, Alchemy had gotten a lead on a specific object that would help her find her brother and sent Ciena and the Jinx to find it while she went into her chambers to recharge her powers. The Heart of Magix in the meantime sensed a strong presence and started floating in the air.

After thanking Lockette, the Witch Club was ready to use the key. Lockette directed them to a keyhole in the tree that looked similar to the key. Lee, then, inserted the key into the hole and suddenly it disappeared in a flash of light before a beam shot out of the keyhole and opened a white portal behind them.

"Good luck, Witch Club, and be careful," said Ninfea as the group left through the portal.

The Witch Club made it to Orion and were shocked by the sight. Orion looked to be a dark, evil, and scary place. The sky was filled with black clouds filled with dark magic. (A/N: I didn't mention this in the previous chapter but Orion is based off of Meridian from the W.I.T.C.H. series. Alchemy and Ciena are based off of Prince Phobos and Lord Cedric respectively.)

"Okay, this place is creepy," said Karsyn summoning an orb of light. The group followed her as they made their way to Meridian. The villagers looked miserable and they could see why. Alchemy had been draining their life-force since she rose to power. There were evil vines all over the village, vines that Phillip discovered were being used to drain their life-force to fuel Alchemy's magical abilities. They followed the vines until they reached their destination: The Royal Palace of Orion. The palace itself looked very creepy. It was black with teal and navy blue accents and multiple spikes on the sides. Matt used his telepathic powers to mind scan the castle.

"Ciena and the Jinx are gone, but Alchemy is in her room rechargin' her powers," Matt reported.

"Yeah, and the villagers are the ones that suffer," Brian pointed out bitterly.

"We have to get in," said Clay attempting to use his strength on the door.

"Wait," said Matt, putting his arm out, "There're guards and other henchmen in there."

"Great, now what?" asked Taylor.

"I can't turn everybody invisible," said Joshua.

"And I don't think I can freeze all of them," said Lee.

"We'll figure it out," said Jay, "In the meantime, we've got to get inside." Unbeknownst to them, somebody was watching them from the shadows.

Inside the palace, as Matt said, there were guards and henchmen in that area. The guards were humanoid creatures that had skin so pale it was almost white and yellow eyes without any irises. They wore black body armor with teal trim and black boots with teal laces. They were busy minding their own business when suddenly the door opened courtesy of Joshua's power over air and Phillip's telekinesis. Before the guards could do anything Lee froze them in their place. The fairies entered the castle, ready for anything that comes their way. Matt picked up the presents of other guards scouting the halls. Getting to a wall, Lee put out a hand and immediately the guards in the entire hallway froze. In the throne room, the Heart of Magix started glowing again sensing the Witch Club's presence. While the group was walking down the corridor, Lee started getting a headache.

"Lee, are you okay?" asked Skyler, holding him close to her chest.

"It's the Heart," Lee replied, "It's calling to me." The group then noticed a magenta colored trail approaching them, kind of like bread crumbs, leading them to the throne room where it was being held. The Witch Club followed the trail as fast as they could until they reached the throne room.

"This must be it," said Brian. Jay tried to open the door, but it was locked. Clay was about to use his super strength, but then Skyler stopped him, pointing to Brian, who was slumped over. Suddenly, the door opened revealing Brian on the other side. He was in astral mode.

"Thanks," said Clay.

"No problem," said Brian as his consciousness returned to his body. As soon as he did this, the group walked into the throne room and started searching.

"Found it!" exclaimed Abby, holding the Heart in her hand. She walked over to Lee and placed it back around his neck.

"Thanks, Abby," said Lee.

"No, probs," said Abby, "Now, we had better get out of here." When they went to leave, however, they saw that the guards were standing in front of them unfrozen. The door and windows suddenly closed preventing their escape and dragon-like golems appeared out of nowhere. They heard a loud laugh. It was Alchemy. She found out they were there.

"Did I scare you, fairies?" asked Alchemy tauntingly, "That's only the beginning! Before long, you'll regret your intrusion!" The Witch Club were surrounded, but they weren't scared.

"Magix Winx!" shouted Brian, Brandon, Grant, Skyler, and some of the Witch Club as they transformed into their Winx forms.

"Magic Winx! Enchantix!" shouted Josh and Kendal as they transformed into their Enchantix forms.

The fairies, then, took to the air and fired blasts of elemental energy at the guards, knocking them down. Remi, then, fired a violet Soundwave to knock the guards out. The rangers then fired blasts of elemental energy at the door, forcing it to open, and the fairies flew out of the room instantly, the Heart of Magix now back with them. The group made it to the hallway where another wall was magically placed in front of them by Alchemy. More soldiers were closing in on them. It looked like they were going to have to fight their way to freedom when suddenly a cloaked figure appeared out of nowhere fighting off most of the guards.

"Follow me," said the cloaked figure as they lead them towards a window. The group then flew out the window and followed the cloaked figure to an underground cavern. The cavern was well lit. The walls were gold with white trimming with torches lit everywhere around the world. As soon as the door closed behind them, the cloaked figure stopped in the center of the room and turned to face them.

"Thanks," said Jay, "But, who are you?" The cloaked figure then lifted their hood to reveal a dark skinned young man with dark brown eyes and a short black flat top hairstyle. He wore a black trench coat over a white tank top, black biker gloves, black pants, and black ankle length boots.

"My name is Ron, leader of the rebellion against the tyrant, Princess Alchemy," introduced the young man as the room began to fill with other rebels, "What are you doing here, fairies of Alfea?"

"We are the Witch Club," Jay replied, "And we came to retrieve something very important." Lee, then, flew next to Jay and showed the rebel leader the Heart of Magix.

"You are the Dragon Force?" asked one of the rebels, a light-skinned female with shoulder dark auburn hair. The rest of the rangers flew next to Lee.

"Just these five," said Jay.

"We know of the situation with Alchemy," said Matt, "We want to help."

"Our only savior is her brother, the true heir to Orion," said the blue skinned, white haired male next to Ron, "They believe him to be on Earth."

"But, now with the Power of the Dragons on our side, we stand a fighting chance," said Ron, causing the rangers to look uncomfortable. Ron noticed.

"Was it something I said?" he asked, concerned.

"No," Phillip interjected, "It's just…"

"We've had a hard time controlling it," added Taylor.

"Yeah," agreed Joshua, "Everytime we use it, our powers go haywire."

"That is a problem," said a voice from the crowd. The crowd of rebels parted to reveal a young woman with fair skin, shoulder length red hair tied in a low ponytail, and green eyes. She wore a brown trench coat over a white long-sleeved tunic, black biker gloves, black pants, and brown knee length boots.

"That's Lucinda," introduced Ron, "She is a magic expert."

"Well, we'll keep trying to master the spell...," Joshua started but Lucinda raised a hand silencing him.

"The Power of the Dragons is more than just a spell," said Lucinda, "This isn't in your Book of Shadows, which is what I'm assuming you have, but the Power of the Dragons is a bond between the Elemental Dragons. They were siblings."

The Witch Club were shocked when they heard this.

Lucinda continued, "It's said to be the strongest kind of magic that has ever existed, even stronger than the Power of Three. It is the collective power of the Dragon Force that is supposed to increase your magical strength. For centuries, the Power of the Dragons came to fairies of great promise…" She trailed off. The rangers took notice of this.

"I'm guessing there's a consequence," Phillip said suddenly. Lucinda just nodded. Before she could explain, the sound of a warning horn went off.

"They're coming!" cried a voice.

"The guards must've followed us down here," said Brian.

"Rebels, get into positions," Ron commanded. The rebels do as they command and draw their weapons, ready to fight.

"We'll help, too," said Jay as the Witch Club took to the air.

"Rangers, follow me," said Lucinda, "I know someone that can help you with the power." The rangers nodded in agreement and followed Lucinda to a strange room that was completely white save for the platform which was black with a pentagram that was colored red, green, blue, yellow, and pink. Just then, a tall, slim figure appeared in a black cloak from behind the cream curtain towards the end of the room.

"Ah...you are the Power Rangers Dragon Force," said the figure. It was a woman with very pale skin and green eyes.

"Y-Y-Yes," said Matt in a shaky voice as the figure terrified the rangers for a bit.

"We need your help, Ancient One," said Lucinda.

"I see," said the ancient one raising her hood revealing her black hair.

Back outside, the rebels and fairies were ready to fight. Suddenly, the door was smashed into revealing Mistress Ciena in serpent form, smiling evil at the group.

"You fairies shall pay allying yourselves with these rebel scums!" she snarled as she attacked the group, slamming her tail down to attack the group as the guards filed in fighting the fairies and rebels."

"Twilight Bolt!" Grant shouted, shooting a bolt of twilight energy at the guards.

"Arrows of Rage!" Kendal shouted, shooting red arrows of emotional energy.

"Lava Stream!" Josh shouted, shooting out a stream of lava.

"Plasma Bolt!" Brandon shouted, shooting a bolt of plasma. The four attack spells were powerful enough to do some damage. Grant and Brandon's spells managed to knock the guards back while Kendal and Josh's spells wounded Ciena. The rebels and fairies were able to hold off the opponents for as long as they could.

Meanwhile inside the room, the rangers gathered in a circle with the Heart of Magix floating in the center. The group was standing at each point of the pentagram, Lee standing at the pink point at the top, Joshua standing at the yellow point at the upper right, Taylor at the blue point at the lower right, Phillip at the green point at the upper left, and Matthew at the red point at the lower left. They were initially hesitant, especially when the cloaked being told them that might of the Power of the Dragons could overwhelm them eventually causing one of them to die.

"Well, we're all gonna die," said Joshua matter-of-factly, "Someday, somehow."

"He's right," said Phillip, "But, that doesn't matter."

"It's not how we die," Matthew started.

"It's how we live," Taylor finished.

Lee nodded, "This is our destiny. To break that cycle. We must accept it."

"Now, join hands and accept your destiny as one. To tame The Power of the Dragons, you must stand united." The rangers nodded, joined hands, and said the spell separately.

"Potenza dei draghi," said Lee.

"Potenza dei draghi," said Joshua.

"Potenza dei draghi," said Taylor.

"Potenza dei draghi," said Phillip.

"Potenza dei draghi," said Matt.

Suddenly, the Heart of Magix glowed bright as magenta energy formed from their joined hands that continued to grow as suddenly their ranger colors formed around their bodies.

Back outside, the rebels and the fairies were winning when suddenly a semi-giant snake golem came into play, knocking them all down. The group was shocked, but they didn't give up.

"Magic Winx, Charmix!" Brian called out as his Charmix power was activated. A silver bird shaped pin with a white gemstone was on his chest and his waist bag was circular that was light blue on one side and teal on the other. The fairies and rebels regrouped when suddenly, the door behind them burst over to reveal the Rangers, in Ranger form. The five stepped out ready to fight. Ciena saw them and went after them in a fury.

"Give me the Heart of Magix!" the serpent snarled as she slithered towards the five. The rangers didn't cower in fear, they were ready. The fairies knew exactly what they were going to do, so they all created shields to protect themselves and their allies from the out of control spell as the rangers hands glowed with magenta-colored energy.

"Potenza dei draghi!" The Rangers called out as they shot collective energy beams that combined into a massive energy wave pushing Ciena and the guards back outside. The golem however remained unaffected. This golem was much stronger than the others, though the spell did hold it back considerably.

"It's a mega golem," said Lucinda, "Twice more powerful than the ones you have faced. Even the Power of the Dragons can't hold him back for long.

"How do we beat him?" asked Jay.

"The only way to defeat him is to disable him from the inside." Brian, getting an idea, astral projected next to his body, flew towards the golem and phased into his body. The rangers were shocked by this and were about to call off the spell after Brian disabled the golem but it was too late, the creature was destroyed as Brian's body glowed. They put down the spell after the golem is destroyed and saw that Brian's soul had survived and projected himself back into his body. Brian then woke up from his trance and found himself earning his Enchantix powers. His tank top turns into a full sleeveless shirt with a sea green trim at the bottom and his shorts grow into pants that cut off at his knee and flail outwards. His boots disappear and become replaced with cyan barefoot sandals with green circular emeralds. He gained sea green elbow length gloves and a fairy dust necklace shaped like a raven in someway. His wings grow in size and become green and yellow green with cyan bejewelled outlining.

"Brian, you earned your Enchantix powers!" Grant said amazed.

Brian smiled. He saw the remains of the golem getting ready to reform.

"Fairy Dust!" Brian called out as he took the air, removed his fairy dust bottle, and poured it all over the remains causing them to disappear. He also shot fairy dust at the door, resealing the entrance and reinforcing the door in the process.

"Brian, are you okay?" asked Lee worried that they may have hurt him.

Brian smiled, "Don't worry. I phased out before the golem was destroyed."

Reassured, the rangers nodded once since their faces couldn't be seen through the helmet.

"I just realized we've got two reasons to celebrate," said Kendal. This confused everybody, including the Rangers.

"Brian earned his Enchantix and the Rangers finally mastered the Power of the Dragons." The rangers smiled, realising that Kendal was right.

"First, we've got to get back to Alfea," said Brian. The Heart of Magix then glowed again and opened a magenta colored portal behind them.

Taylor then touched the crystal and received a vision.

The Heart of Magix floated in the air after sensing the presence of another object. Suddenly, a diamond-shaped stone floated out from behind the throne. The pendant then suddenly shot magenta energy that wrapped itself around the stone and pulled it inside of itself.

The retrocognition ended, leaving Taylor shocked.

"What did you see?" asked Matt.

"The Heart of Magix sucking some diamond shaped stone inside of it.

"The Seal of Alchemy," said Ron suddenly.

"The Heart must've absorbed its power to open portals," said the Sage suddenly.

With this knowledge the fairies then flew through the portal wanting to see where it ended. Before stepping through, Matt turned to the rebels and said, "We'll do what we can to find the true heir and try to bring him home." The other rangers nodded in agreement, assuring the rebels. The rangers then grabbed the Heart of Magix and stepped through the portal. Finding themselves back at Alfea with the Winx, their children, and Ms. Faragonda waiting.

"Welcome back," Faragonda said smiling, "And I sense that you were successful in mastering the Power of the Dragons." The rangers removed their helmets and smiled, confirming Ms. Faragonda's suspicions with Lee showing the Heart of Magix for good measure. He, then, turned around and used the pendant to seal the portal behind them.

Later that night, the group was in Josh, Brian, Jay, Clay, and Kendal's dorm room.

"Brian Falkoff, Brandon Wallace, Grant Shirey, and Skyler Jones," said Jay, "I nearby name you four honorary members of the Witch Club." The group cheered in delight and excitement. When there was a knock on the door.

"Who is it?" Jay called.

"It's me," called Brenton's voice. Lee opened the door and immediately was pulled into a hug by Brenton. Lee returned the hug immediately. He then carried Lee back into the room and sat him down on his lap.

"I never got to say how proud I was of you guys," said Brenton, "For mastering the Power of the Dragons."

"Thanks, Brent," said Taylor.

"When Azar's coronation?" asked Karsyn.

"It's this weekend," said Brenton,

"I just wanted to make sure you all got your invitations." Brenton then snapped his fingers and twenty-two invitations appeared in magical flames.

"Nice," said Jay, "We'll be there."

"We could perform," Abby suggested.

"That's the plan," said Brenton. The group was excited to visit Eraklyon, Brenton smiled. He was happy to have these fairies as his friends. He knows it's going to be very exciting for them.

Next chapter, we shall see the return of the Specialists and some other characters, such as Daphne and Thoren. We shall meet their kids as well. Until then, this is yellowwinx8, signing off.

Yes, Orion is more or less based off of Meridian as such there is a rebellion similar to the one that was on Meridian for Season 1 of W.I.T.C.H. Only the leader of the rebellion is based off of a real-life person who is dating a friend of mine.

The Power of the Dragon is based off of the Power of Three from the Charmed Reboot, such as the consequence.

Also, yes, the Seal of Alchemy is based off of the Seal of Phobos that was absorbed by the Heart of Kandrakar.
