Witch Club
Chapter 9: Dragon Megazord
It was a bright sunny day in Magix as five multicolored dragons flew over Magix City. The rangers' dragon Zords have grown to adults fairly quickly and the rangers were currently riding them to get a better feel for them. Matt, who was piloting the Fire Dragonzord, was a natural due to being the only one in the group that had a license, the rangers were handling it pretty well, too.
"Okay, this is crazy," said Joshua piloting the Air Dragonzord, "It's like I know how to drive this thing."
"Same here," said Taylor piloting the Water Dragonzord, "It's almost like second nature to me." Lee, who was piloting the Electric Dragonzord, was a little unsure about piloting the Zords, due to having friends that had less than pleasurable experiences behind the wheel, one of them ending in death, but he was doing slightly okay.
"You're doing great, Lee," said Eleanie over the intercom, "Just try not to lose focus."
"I'll try," said Lee meekly, anxiety already starting to mound. Currently, Matt and Phillip, who was piloting the Earth Dragonzord, were currently having a race that they manage to drag the younger three into.
"What do you think the Megazord will look like?" Phillip asked Lee.
"I don't know," said Lee, "But it might be a surprise. Megazords form in different ways."
"He's got a point," said Matt, "Come on, let's get back to Lake Roccaluce. Eleanie and the others are waiting." With that, the five flew back to Lake Roccaluce where Eleanie and her siblings were waiting with Ms. Faragonda. Each Zord stopped in front of them as the Rangers jumped out and demorphed.
"Very good, Rangers," congratulated Ms. Faragonda, "That is it for now. It is time for the Zords to go to their hiding places."
The rangers were sad to see their Zords leave, but they gave them one final goodbye before Ms. Faragonda teleported away with them. As soon as they were gone, two sets of orbs appeared in front of them. One set formed Wyatt and the other formed someone that no one has seen in years. It was Nabu, the wizard from Andros and Aisha's former fiancé who sacrificed his life to save the Earth Fairies from the Wizards of the Black Circle. They guessed that saving the Earth Fairies probably caused the Witches' Council or the Elders to decide that he was worthy of becoming a Whitelighter. (A/N: I understand that Nabu's demise has caused some controversy and many people want him to come back and after watching Charmed, it got me to thinking that if he did die as Season 5 had said, then his actions would've definitely made Nabu worthy of becoming a Whitelighter, plus I couldn't keep Wyatt around the rangers forever).
"Is that…," Joshua started to say but unable to find the words.
"That's right," Wyatt finished, "Nabu of Andros, wizard turned Whitelighter."
"Hello, Dragon Force," Nabu greeted, "Nice to finally meet you."
"We came here because I have something to tell you."
"What's that?" asked Taylor.
"Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond my control, I will no longer be your Whitelighter for a while," Wyatt announced calmly. The rangers gasped when they heard this.
"What? Why?" Lee asked.
"Family stuff, nothing too serious, but it will take up most of my time. As such Nabu will be taking over as your Whitelighter."
The rangers nodded in understanding though they were still sad.
Demetrios cleared his throat, "I know you all are having a moment, but don't you all have class later?" The rangers then started freaking out about how late they were going to be and how they needed to hurry, though Lee took the time to give Wyatt a hug before he ran off with the others. Wyatt let a tear escape from his eye as he orbed away. These kids would be alright.
At Alfea, the rangers were telling their friends during Winxology about Nabu being their new Whitelighter and to say they were shocked was an understatement, though the Winx weren't surprised considering what Aisha had told them years ago.
Years ago, Aisha had traveled back to Andros to deliver the bad news to Nabu's family and to hold a memorial service for him. When she got there however, she was shocked to see Nabu standing in front of her waiting to greet her. Aisha was shocked to see him and immediately hugged him which was when he told her that he was now a Whitelighter.
"I guess the Elders thought my sacrifice to save the Earth Fairies had made me worthy," he had told her. He also told her to stop crying and smile, because he would always be there for her. And Aisha promised that that was what she would do from now on.
Aisha smiled at the memory and noticed the rangers look at her with apologetic looks. She broke into Matt's psychic link and let them know that it was okay and at that, class commenced.
Meanwhile on Orion, Ciena had returned from speaking to an Oracle in the underworld for information about Alchemy's brother. What she found out was remarkably interesting indeed.
"Well?" Alchemy asked on her throne impatiently.
"The Oracle was cryptic, as usual, but the information she provided is indeed of value," Alchemy replied.
"I'm listening," she said with evident interest.
"As we already know, the Fairy of the Dragon's Glow is on Earth. Specifically the town I first encountered the Dragon Force."
"Interesting. But knowing the Oracle, she probably still didn't give you a name."
"She didn't, but the last bit she had to share was interesting. Apparently, the prince is close to the Dragon Force, specifically, the Pink Ranger. Only they don't even know."
Alchemy frowned at that. The rangers had no idea that they were friends with her brother, though a sick smile grew across her face as she realized how she could rectify that without the rangers finding out until it was too late.
"Return to the Underworld and send for a telepathic demon," she commanded, "We'll just have to rip the information out of the Pink Ranger's mind." Ciena smirked evilly.
Hours after class let out, the Rangers were out on the field with their new mentors to expand their powers. For the new after school training sessions, the Rangers asked Stella to make them some new outfits. That was one of her mottos after all, "New Mission, New Look." Matt wore a black t-shirt with an orange flame pattern under a red vest, brown pants, black crew socks, and red cowboy boots; Phillip wore a green short-sleeved tunic shirt with gold leaf designs, brown shorts with a gold belt, and he was barefoot; Taylor a blue short-sleeved tunic shirt with aquamarine bubble patterns over a violet long-sleeved shirt with blue wave trimming, violet pants with blue wave trimming, white ankle socks, and blue sneakers with sea green trimming; Joshua wore a yellow t-shirt with violet wind patterns under an orange vest, brown pants with violet wind trimming, and red knee-length gladiator sandals; (1) and Lee wore a pink short-sleeved hoodie with white lightning designs and gold trimming, white elbow-length gloves, blue shorts with white trimming, white knee length, gold-toe socks, and pink steel toed boots with gold soles. The siblings were impressed, knowing that their aunt Stella had a hand in their outfits.
"Welcome, Rangers," Eleanie greeted, "It's time to officially begin your magical training. We will split into five groups. Each of you will be taken to a different domain where we will train you to master your magic." They then opened five portals to different domains: an ice domain, a desert domain, a forest domain, a mountain domain, and finally a space domain (2).
"Are you five ready to begin your training?" asked Eleanie. The five boys nodded as they walked with their respective mentors to the domains.
At Cloud Tower, the Jinx were just getting done with their punishment, cleaning the classrooms and bathrooms without using their magic. The three brothers went back to their rooms, exhausted.
"Finally, free at last!" Molan sighed, falling face first on his bed, Edur and Erebus following suit.
"Tell me about it," said Erebus, clearly irritated, "I can't believe we got sold out by a freshman of all people. Stupid witches."
"I can't wait 'til we succeed in our plans," Molan growled, "Those snitches will pay for getting us in trouble."
"Easy, brothers," said Edur, "We'll get them all back in time. In the meanwhile, let's get out of here and see what Alchemy's up to." With that, the boys blinked out of their room and into a clearing in Gloomywood Forest. The three, then, chanted an incantation and summoned a witch's glass in the form of a mirror (3) and on the other side was Alchemy.
"Ah, the Jinx," Alchemy greeted calmly, "I haven't heard from you three in a while."
"We got a bit held up, your grace," said Edur.
"I see. And to what do I owe this pleasure."
"We just wanted to see if you have made any progress with your search," said Erebus.
"As a matter of fact we have," said Alchemy as she informed them of what the Oracle had told Ciena.
"So, the Pink Ranger doesn't even know that he's close to your brother?" asked Molan.
"Not a clue," said Alchemy, "And he will never tell willingly which is why I had Ciena to send for a telepathic demon to find out his identity." The Jinx smirked.
"May we help?" asked Edur.
"Probably not the best idea given your current situation, but fear not, when we find him you will be called upon." The Jinx nodded and cut the communication short.
Back with the Rangers, they were each training in their respective domains with Daphne's kids. Eleanie and Lee were in the space domain, Demetrios and Phillip were in the forest domain, Ren and Taylor were in the ice domain, Vulcan and Matt were in the desert domain, and Tuuli and Joshua were in the mountain domain, all ten were connected via Matt's psychic link.
In the ice domain, Taylor was doing significantly well, but Ren could tell that something was bugging him.
"Taylor," she called, getting his attention, "Is everything okay?"
"Yeah," he answered, "It's just... I think I've been having premonitions in my sleep."
Ren looked a little surprised, but not shocked, "Well, that means your mutant powers are also expanding. It's normal for a seer to be able to have premonitions in their sleep. What did you see?"
"It's crazy," Taylor said after taking a breath, "But, I think it may have something to do with the rightful heir to Orion's throne."
Now Ren was shocked, "You saw Alchemy's brother?"
"Yeah, except I can't see his face, but somehow...I feel like I know him."
She thought about it for a moment, "We'll have to talk to the others about this later. But for now, let's get back to training." Taylor nodded and they went back to training. When they got back to training however, Taylor suddenly received another premonition.
Lee was getting his mind sucked out of him by an unknown telepathic assailant.
The premonition then ended, and he saw Ren looking at him in concern.
"What happened? What did you see?"
"Lee getting attacked," Taylor answered after catching his breath.
An hour later, the pairs emerged from the portals when they were suddenly attacked by a fireball. The siblings put up an elemental barrier around themselves and the rangers to protect them. When the smoke cleared, they saw a man standing in front of them. The man in question was tall with pale skin, thinning snow white hair, and violet eyes. He was dressed in all black with red accents.
"Hello, fairies," the man said with an evil tone in his voice. The rangers backed away as the siblings stood in front to protect them.
"That's him," said Taylor, "That's the guy from my premonition." The man in question got more fireballs ready and shot them at the fairies, knocking them all to the ground. They got back up and got ready to fight.
"Which one of you is the Pink Ranger?" asked the man, mentally scanning them, setting his eyes on the young boy, "Ah, there you are."
"Everyone, transform!" Eleanie commanded as she stood in front of Lee protectively.
"Magic Winx!" The rangers shouted as they transformed.
"Magic Winx! Bloomix!" The siblings called out as they transformed.
The ten fairies took to the air as they got ready to fight.
The man sighed, "Why must fairies be so difficult?" He, then, got some more fireballs ready and threw them at the fairies, only to have Vulcan and Matt redirect them back to him.
"What is he? Another warlock?" asked Joshua.
"No," said Tuuli, "A demon!" Before any of them could attack, all ten of them were slammed back to the ground by Ciena's tail, which then grabbed Lee and pulled him over to the man.
"Now," said Ciena, "Search his mind."
"With pleasure," said the man as both his hands hovered around Lee's head and black energy emerged from them and went into his mind causing him to scream in pain. The man kept searching his mind, looking at every face he saw until he came upon the one, he was looking for. Enraged by the violation, Lee subconsciously electrocuted Ciena causing her to release him as he kicked the man back away from him.
"Stay out of my head!" The enraged boy screamed as he fired bolts of electric energy at the man, who fought back by replicating Lee's power. Lee was then joined by Eleanie who fired an energy wave at the demon pushing him back.
"Are you okay?" Eleanie asked Lee as the latter rubbed his head.
"I think so," Lee said, still with some irritation in his voice due to the violation.
Ciena, then, got up and tried to make a move until she was stopped by the demon.
"No," he told her telepathically, "I got what we came for." The snake-woman nodded as both she and the demon corralled away before the others could chase them.
Back at Alfea, the Rangers were looking in the Book of Shadows as Brenton was pacing around mumbling to himself.
"I should've been there," Brenton said, "I made a promise to protect him and I broke it." He was only stopped when Lee hugged him.
"There was no way you could've known," Lee said as Brenton reciprocated the hug.
"Found him," called Phillip as Lee and Brenton walked back towards the group, "His name is Cerebus, a demon telepath. He's Upper-Level so we'll need the Power of the Dragons to defeat him. Are you sure you're up to it?" Lee nodded in response to his question.
"I'll come to," said Brenton.
"No," said Lee, "One of the ranger rules is never escalating a battle unless we're forced to."
"So, what do we do?" asked Joshua.
"For now, we wait," said Matt, "He'll most likely come back."
Back on Orion, Alchemy was looking at the image of the face from the vision in her viewing globe. The boy was a spitting image of her: pale skin, brown hair though short, and brown eyes.
She smirked, "My brother's face. After all these years."
"Unfortunately, that was all I could get, your majesty," said Cerebus, "The child managed to fight back. We'll have to return to get more information."
"Very well," said Alchemy calmly, "Then go back to Alfea and find them, I will send the Jinx to lure them out of hiding."
Back at Alfea, the Witch Club were out in Magix City with their friends and significant others enjoying some time off.
"So, what should we do?" Zach asked.
"Well, we could go to Stella's boutique," Karsyn suggested, "I want to see if there's a sale." The girls agreed immediately. On their way to the boutique however the group found themselves being attacked by a blast of dark energy. They looked up to see the Jinx attacking them. They, then, summoned their personalized golems to aid them. The Specialists pulled out their weapons as the fairies got ready to transform.
"Magic Winx!"
"Enchantix!"
In a flash of light, all of them transformed and got ready to fight. The rangers took to the sky while the others stuck to the ground to fight the golems and prevent them from terrorizing the citizens. Cerebus appeared on a roof of one of the buildings in a shimmer, distorting the space around him. (4) When he saw his victim, he smirked. He closed his eyes in concentration, pointing his hand at the boy, as he penetrated his mind once more. Lee held his head and screamed in pain as he felt his mind being penetrated again. The rangers saw this and rushed over to their friend and caught sight of Cerebus.
"Hey, leave him alone!" Taylor shouted as they flew over to the building where the telepathic demon was only to be swatted down to the ground by Ciena's tail. The Specialists, the rest of the Witch Club, and the Winx Descendents found themselves being restrained by snake golems that appeared out of nowhere.
"Get out of my head!" Lee shouted as he fired an electric energy ball at Cerebus, who only turned up the heat. Brenton was determined to save Lee from that psychotic demon and broke free from the golems only for Ciena to slam him down with her tail to keep him front interfering. All the while, Lee started glowing a strong electric blue as the intrusion continued. Cerebus found the boy and this time got his name.
"That's it…," Cerebus thought, "Let me see your secrets!"
It was then that Lee had enough, "NO! STOP IT!" And suddenly, he released a powerful shockwave knocking back Ciena, the Jinx, and the golems as a dragon made of electrical energy emerged from his chest and knocked down Cerebus, cutting off his connection, returning to reenter the Pink Ranger as its job was complete. As soon as they were freed, Brenton and the other rangers flew up to check on their friend and teach the demon telepath a lesson, something Brenton was all too happy to oblige to. After checking to see that Lee was okay, Brenton and all five Rangers flew to the rooftop ready to fight the telepathic demon.
"It's Morphin' Time!" Matt shouted.
"Go Go Dragon Force!" The rangers called out as they morphed into their ranger forms. Ciena and the Jinx came to as the Rangers did battle with Cerebus. Ciena was about to attack them again when she found herself shot down by an arrow and a shotgun energy bullet courtesy of Madison Miller and Kadi Fields.
"That was for swatting our boyfriends," Madison said angrily. Ciena later found herself whacked in the tail by Phillip's girlfriend, Jennie Phillips with her bō staff. The Jinx, then, took to the sky to stop the rangers but found themselves blinded by both Karsyn and Zoran.
"Don't even think about it," said Zoran.
The rest of the fairies and the Specialists had already dispatched most of the golems by the time the rangers had pushed Cerebus off the roof. The rangers landed right in front of him as Brenton flew up next to Zoran and Karsyn.
"Potenza di draghi!" The rangers called out as they shot out five energy beams at the demon. Cerebus tried channeling the Power of the Dragons spell, but Matt sensed and blocked him from doing so, allowing the rangers to immediately vanquish him.
Ciena was prepared for this however and quietly uttered a spell that not only revived the telepathic demon, but also made him giant-sized, giving him a new demon form. Cerebus now looked like a gargoyle that was almost completely black in color with a huge muscular build, large bat-like wings, and his eyes were now completely violet, shocking the citizens, but the fairies and the Specialists weren't afraid. It was then the Rangers knew what they had to do.
They put their hands to the sky and shouted, "We need Dragonzord power, now!"
"Fire Dragonzord, Power Up!" Matt called out as a nearby volcano (5) erupted and the Fire Dragonzord emerged from it and flew towards the battle.
"Earth Dragonzord, Power Up!" Phillip called out as the ground at a nearby desert (5) opened up and out emerged the Earth Dragonzord as it flew out and flew to the battle.
"Water Dragonzord, Power Up!" Taylor called out as a geyser erupted from a tropical island (5) as the Water Dragonzord flew out of it and flew towards the direction of its ranger.
"Air Dragonzord, Power Up!" Joshua called as a tornado emerged from a blowhole in a nearby forest (5) and the Air Dragonzord emerged from it, flying to its master.
"Electric Dragonzord, Power Up!" Lee called out as lightning shot out from crystals surrounding a giant floating boulder, striking said boulder (5) and allowing the Electric Dragonzord to break free and fly towards his friend. After seeing their Dragonzords flying towards them, the rangers then jumped into the air and into the cockpits and were ready to fight.
"Ha! Do you really think some overgrown toys can stop me?!" Cerebus mocked, his voice going deeper now that he was in full demon form. The demon then fired a bolt of fire at the Zords, who immediately flew out the way fired their own attacks, emitting their respective elements from their mouths with each attack damaging the demon in different ways. The Earth Dragonzord, then, sent out a seismic wave, causing the demon to lose his footing.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Witch Club, the Winx Descendents, and the Specialists got the civilians to safety.
"Rangers, combine the Zords!" Zach called out to the rangers.
"You heard 'im, Rangers," said Matt.
"Dragon Megazord, Power Up!" The rangers called up as the Zords began the docking sequence, the Electric Dragonzord forming the head and torso, the Fire and Water Dragonzords forming the arms, the Earth Dragonzord forming the legs, and the Air Dragonzord forming the wings. Everyone was surprised, including the Rangers themselves.
"Alright, Rangers," said Matt, "Let's see what this thing can do." And the rangers immediately went to work, apparently working a Megazord was easy. They had already managed to land a few punches and kicks on Cerebus before he managed to get the upper hand and knock them down, but they got back up and kept at it.
Inside the cockpit, Lee, who was sitting in the center at the main controls for a message on the screen in front of him, telling him what to do next as the words 'Dragon Saber' appeared, Lee was able to put two and two together instantly.
"I call upon the Dragon Saber!" The Pink Ranger called as a giant multi-colored saber fell from the skies and fell into the Megazord's hands. They went to slashing the giant demon, causing him to fall back. That was when the Rangers saw a message on the screen telling them to pull the finishing move. After this, the rangers performed the finisher move. The Megazord then took the air and a circle formed in front of it with a pentagram inside of it with the elemental symbols on each point. The Megazord, then, traced the circle with its saber, infusing it with elemental energy, holding it up in the air. For the first time, Cerebus backed away in fear as the Megazord then swooped down towards him and delivered a powerful slash, throwing an elemental energy wave at Cerebus, vanquishing him for good (6). Before he died however, he was able to send Ciena one last telepathic message with the information that Alchemy needed. The Serpent disappeared behind a nearby building transforming back to human form, a portal opening to allow her to escape as the Jinx blinked back to Cloud Tower. The rest of the Witch Club, the Specialists, the Winx Descendents, and the civilians came out and immediately cheered for the rangers. After that, the Rangers jumped out of the Zords, summoned their elemental wings and flew towards the location they saw Ciena disappear to. When they found the portal, Lee summoned the Heart of Magix and closed the portal.
Back on Orion, Alchemy was enraged, throwing dark bolts across the room.
"Easy, your highness," said Ciena, "There is a silver lining." The dark princess perked up when she heard this.
"And that is?"
"Before he was destroyed, Cerebus was able to send me what he learned about the boy in the globe. His earth name is...Chase White."
The princess was shocked but then smirked, "Chase…, yes, he'll make a great prince. For a while." Unbeknownst to them, Ron was on a windowsill eavesdropping.
Back in Magix, the group had gone back to enjoying their day, shopping for some new things with Brenton standing close to Lee, determined not to let the child out of his sight again. Lee didn't mind. He felt safe with Brenton after all.
Taylor and Madison were looking at watches when suddenly Taylor had another premonition.
It was a ranger, like them, except he looked different from the others. For starters, he was silver with a copper vest and his visor was styled differently. He was shown the ability to control metal and time. Who was this Silver Ranger?
The premonition ended there, leaving Taylor shocked.
"Taylor," he heard his girlfriend say as he turned to face her.
"Are you okay?" She asked, "What did you see?"
All Taylor could say was, "Another ranger."
Who is this new ranger? And what are his powers in full length? You'll have to find out when the next chapter comes out. Until then, this is yellowwinx8 signing off.
The attire for the first four rangers I made sure was reminiscent to the Avatar franchise.
The domains in question are based off of the five sectors of Code Lyoko.
The Witch's Glass is a useful mechanism from the Halloweentown franchise.
Shimmering is a common teleportation method among demons in the original Charmed series.
The five hiding places were based off of the Fire, Earth, Water, Air, and Lightning Habitats from Dragon Vale as a friend of mine had played it before and gave me the idea.
