AUTHOR'S NOTE: To any fellow fanfic writers: Can we please write more Wonka and Veruca stories? I'm so freaking sick of Charlie. I know he's SUPPOSED to be boring, but he is SO FREAKING BORING! Like shut up you freaking cabbage-eating boring ahh perfect little angel boy! How about a sweet kid who still has flaws and can create good conflict/drama without being too out of character, but can still be a good child when she really wants/needs to be? The Squirrel Princess needs more love, and I shouldn't be the only one giving it to her. I also write stories better and faster when I have inspiration. A.K.A. Wonka and Veruca stories written by other people. (I like Wonka and Mike, as well as Wonka and Violet stories too.) Sorry for the little rant. Here's the story:

It just didn't make any sense. How could a young boy like Charlie Bucket, who was living in extreme poverty, give up on the chance to live in the largest and most amazing place on this entire planet? All because he wanted to stay with his family. Charlie wasn't gonna change his mind, so Wonka wasn't gonna ask again. So what now?

Violet would be a good choice. She's very skillful, talented, most likely a quick learner, and she's determined and ambitious. Perfect for running a business.

Contacting her mother, Scarlett, didn't give Wonka the results he was hoping for, however. She ranted and raved on and on about "You turned my Violet into a blueberry and ruined our lives!" Wonka couldn't even get another word in over her hour long shouting session. Not even to tell her that the blue color was only temporary. By the time she finally hung up, he was too worn out to call her back.

Tomorrow, he must try again.

Wonka now finds himself sitting in a vast living room with his cane standing between his knees. His fidgeting hands lay restlessly atop the black and white orb he held it by. Across from him sit the three people he'd come here to see. Informing them that he had a very important announcement that they needed to hear. On two matching couches facing directly across from each other, the four of them are awkwardly staring at each other in silence. Angina Salt questioningly looks at her husband. Her head moving before her eyes, then turning back to see Wonka.

Wonka clenches his fist, causing his gloves to squeak. Finally, he begins to speak. "Well..." He starts. "It seems that... Little uh... Veruca here has..."

He goes quiet again. Dreading what he was about to say to them. "Won the grand prize..." He concluded with a forced smile that didn't match the clear disappointment in his voice.

The eyes of the trio in front of him go wide. A mix of shock and excitement. "Oh how marvelous!" Rupert Salt chuckles. His demeanor going from uncomfortable to highly interested.

"What is it?" Veruca asks eagerly.

Wonka takes a deep breath. Averting his gaze from her. "Well it's... My whole entire factory." The last four words come out in a whisper.

He hears their quiet gasps. A few seconds of silence before the girl speaks up again. "You mean I won the factory? The whole factory is mine now!?"

"Mm-hm." He nods, trying his best to sound cheerful about it.

"When do I move in?" She springs up to her feet.

"As soon as you're ready."

Before another word can be spoken, Veruca swiftly turns around and runs out of the room. Leaving Wonka alone with her parents.

"Now, now, Mr. Wonka." Rupert chuckled nervously. "Let's not make any hasty decisions. You see, I can't simply leave everything behind. I have my own business to run."

"Oh you don't have to worry. Veruca's coming by herself." He gives the first genuine smile since he's spoken to them that day.

"What!?" Angina gasps out, quite horrified.

"Yeah. She certainly can't run a chocolate factory with a family hanging over her like an old dead goose." He pauses. Thinking back to when he's said this before. The smiles slightly fading from his face. "Her creativity will never be able to grow if you're there bossing her around all the time." He fluttered his gloved fingers at them when saying the word 'bossing'.

"Mr. Wonka," Rupert says sternly. "You must understand that we don't want our daughter to just go on living with a man whom we don't know very well. With all due respect sir, it seems rather... Odd that you'd suggest such a thing."

"Now I know what you mean, and I have thought this thru this time. Kay? You're allowed to call or write to her anytime you want. You're just not allowed to ever see her in person again."

The girl's parents look absolutely horrified. Rupert takes a deep breath before continuing on. "Veruca is not going anywhere near your factory unless she has someone from her family to look after her while she's there."

Wonka frowns at him. How incredibly ridiculous. First Charlie, and now Veruca. What is it with kids and always needing their moms and dads all the time? It's not like she's a baby. Wonka can look after her well enough on his own if he's giving his factory to her.

Lost in quiet thought, Wonka's face had soon lit up with a spreading smile. "Well..." He raises his index finger. "There's something else."

Back with Veruca, she was almost done packing up everything she wanted to take to the factory with her. She didn't bother trying to rush. Taking as much time as she pleased to gather her things into three large carriers.

She had stopped her packing to say goodbye to all her pets. Thinking of all the other animals inside the factory she could claim instead. Searching around her soon to be old home for maids and servants to command them to take extra good care of her pets after she's gone. Not directly informing them that she'll most likely never come back. After about an hour of preparation, the young English girl was finally ready for her departure.

She steps out into the living room. Pulling a large pink suitcase behind her in her right hand. A large matching duffle bag in her left, and the third bag on her back.

She stops in front of the two couches. Seeing Wonka shaking hands with her smiling father. The man in the top hat shook the older man's arm rather harshly. As if trying to injure him.

Wonka turns to face Veruca. Displaying a perfect pearly white smile. "Alrighty then. You all set and ready to go?"

Veruca stares down the hallway. Seeing the enormous paintings on the walls. Snow fluttering from the silver sky thru the tall windows. There's still so much left. Maybe there's more that she will need. Setting down her bags near Wonka, she wordlessly ran off to pack up even more bags. Yet to find out that she won't even be permitted to bring every last thing she wants.

"I suppose we should begin packing ourselves." Angina states.

"What for!?" Wonka appears a bit panicked. His outburst reverberating off the walls.

Rupert chuckles at the younger man. "Now, now, Mr. Wonka. We still can't leave our little Veruca all alone with you. She's so very happy about coming to live in your factory. We'd hate to see her disappointed if that were to change now. Wouldn't you?"

Wonka's nose twitches in anger. "I told you that I'd use your nuts in my candy from now on if she came alone, and you agreed!"

"I very well did agree. For you see Mr. Wonka, I agreed that she could come live with you all on her own. But I can't just simply send our little girl off with you like that. We're coming along to be certain that she'll be safe. To stay beside her, and decide whether or not she can stay by herself."

"Oh... So this is just temporary then? You won't be in my factory forever?"

Rupert nods. "That is correct."

Rolling the idea around in his mind, Wonka can't find a good enough reason to deny this, as long as she'll soon be by herself. Denying this could mean something that Wonka couldn't handle the thought of. Couldn't even say the words out loud to himself.

'I'd have to choose Mike Teavee next.'

Wonka wildly shook his head around to banish the thought. Smiling at the people now looking at him like he's insane. "It's a deal. Let's get packing."

AUTHOR'S NOTE: Okay, so I have a question. I've read a fanfic (more than once) that's been abandoned for more than 10 years, and it ends not long after the climax, and left A LOT of unanswered questions. Would it be wrong if I wrote my own fanfic where the backstory was EXTREMELY similar to everything that happened in that story? I'll change certain details including the OC names, and tell the name and summary of the fic it's based off of, along with it's content warnings and everything. I might also recommend readers to read that story first. Or would that be too much like stealing it?
