Izuku is in his room, busy with his machines. Due to growing older, he now goes to Takoba beach alone to get materials and scrap for his inventions. Izuku already knows how to use computers and tools expertly, surpassing even some professional inventors, programmers and scientists. Now he tries to build a 3D printer in order to be able to make better motherboards, processors and other small parts and devices, better that the scrap he works with. There is also the still experimental matter transmuter that would allow Izuku to transform mass into any type of material he requires. Of course it will take time and material to create these things:
"It will be beautiful when these 2 machines become functional. There is the matter of secrecy however, I must not announce to just about everyone that I can make 3D printers and atomic forges. As for the schematics, I have written them on paper and in code, plus that little self destruct device. I cannot allow my knowledge to fall in potentially villainous hands." Izuku monologued. His eyes fell on his homework from school:
"Ah yes, the homework. Prime time to put my school AI in action. I am too good for school, but I am still a child, I have to act like it at least in front of most others." Izuku preferred to act as natural as possible, refusing to draw too much attention to himself. Only among friends would he show his true ingenuity:
"Izuku, can you come and help prepare dinner dear?" Inko asked from behind the door after knocking. Izuku, despite his vast knowledge, could be described as a mama's boy because he loves his mother dearly. Helping her in housework, assisting her at staying fit and sleeping next to her at night despite being fine sleeping alone:
"Coming mom, just a moment." He answered. He quickly turned off his computer and devices, put his notes back in place and walked to the kitchen:
"There you are mister, what have you been doing this time?" Inko asked kindly:
"Tinkering, homework, the usual you know." Izuku plainly answered. Inko sighed:
"Machines and devices, that's all you have in your mind, is it not?":
"But mom, machines and devices are my biggest passion." Izuk defended himself. Despite the time he spent training with Katsuki, Izuku spent hours and hours with his machines, not even allowing his mom to clean his room, both due to fearing potential damages and to not yet show his mother what he is working on. Inko sighed again and patted Izuku's fluffy hair:
"Come and help my little inventor. You still have to eat in order to grow big and strong." She said and went to make the katsudon. Izuku was merely handing out the ingredients and cutlery, Inko not wanting her boy to get injured. Life is good. Training, studying, having only one but precious friend, good food and a roof over his head, Izuku should have been content. Yet he always craves more. Knowledge, training, inventions, maybe some more friends too. Katsuki is good and all but he is only one guy. Izuku would like to have more people willing to talk to him, but school is a no go, due to the students not wanting to be close to him due to his quirklessness:
"Alright Izuku, food is ready. Katsudon, not too hot just like you like it." Inko said, taking pride in her work. Izuku smiled and dug in, without saying his prayer as usual. He was never bowing or acting traditionally. He always stated that it never made sense for him, adding that true politeness stems from within, not from practiced moves and shows of submission. Plus, it is Izuku's pride for surviving in a quirked world while being quirkless, the will to go above and beyond no matter how bleak things look:
"Thank you mom, delightful as always. You look beautiful today, good to see that you follow my instructions about exercising." Izuku smiled along with Inko. True, the Midoriya matriarch started stress eating after Izuku was deemed quirkless, but the boy immediately caught up to her behavior and encouraged her to pursue a more healthy lifestyle. The result was good, with Inko maintaining her slim and now athletic figure along with her curves. The 2 train almost every day, not as intensely as Izuku does with Katsuki, but well enough for Inko to stay fit and beautiful:
"How could I not follow that training regimen you little tyrant? You really know how to make people sweat." Inko teased. Izuku, for all his gifts, has his flaws. He can be a ruthless taskmaster, he can swear and cuss in several different languages when he gets angry and
he can be a bit too close to the ladies. No, he is not a pervert, but his compliments and behavior could cause misunderstandings with anyone who doesn't know him:
"Well, dad may have left but you could still find another. I want you to be at your best if anyone catches your eye." Izuku simply stated. How he talked about Hisashi leaving like he never even mattered was a bit callous, but Izuku is sweet for caring about his mother, in his own unique way:
"Izuku, that is no way to talk about your father." Inko squeaked out, blushing slightly after Izuku recommended her to find another man if she so wishes:
"He lost the right to be a father the moment he left us. No calls, no messages, only the money he sends us every month. This isn't what a real father does, running away from responsibility like a coward. And no, I don't really hate him, I just don't care about what he does, not really." Izuku gave his honest opinion and Inko hugged him:
"But Hisashi did something right my sweet baby boy, he gave me you, a brilliant, healthy and beautiful child. Don't be so harsh to him." Inko pleaded. Izuku relented and hugged his mother back. He wasn't so proud as to not admit that he could make mistakes, despite his remarkable intelligence.
20 December 2338, Bakugo Residence
"So, you want to be a hero too, huh?" A blonde teenage girl with purple eyes asked Katsuki.
The girl's name is Yu Takeyama and she is Katsuki's cousin and currently training in UA to become a pro hero. While she was born in Hokkaido, she hails from Musutafu, same as Katsuki and Izuku. Yu's mother is Masaru's sister and the 2 keep in contact from time to time. Yu's parents recommended her to visit her relatives and maybe learn how to act around kids, a skill useful for a hero in training. If only Yu knew that Katsuki and Izuku are in no way... average kids:
"Yup, I am training to become the best hero there is. No villain will stand in my way." Katsuki boasted and smacked his fist to his open palm, letting out a small explosion. Despite Izuku's attempts, Katsuki's pride and short fuse remained. They were however tempered to a good degree, something that Mitsuki and Masaru will be forever thankful to Izuku for:
"Well, you do have the enthusiasm and the attitude. But you need more than that to become a hero. You need muscles and brains too." Yu flexed her arm, showing a decent bicep. Izuku and Katsuki looked at each other, nodding before removing their shirts:
"As you can see we do have the muscles." The 2 eight year old kids grinned. Yu was shocked as she saw the lean and athletic bodies of Izuku and Katsuki, bodies that most adults would kill for. What the hell were the parents feeding the children? Still, she wouldn't give up so easily:
"Wow, you definitely put on the effort, but you still need to be intelligent enough too. Try to solve these problems if you can." The teen girl opened her bag and gave them a set of high school questions from UA. She didn't mind giving them, as she could easily make copies
from a printer. She wanted to see them struggle as they tried to understand the questions, see them give up:
"Okay, done. Here are the answers." Izuku presented the papers, all neat and solved. That was something that Yu didn't expect:
"What? Give me that!" She quickly took the papers and gave them a good long look. They were all solved really well, maybe not 100 percent correctly, but really well. Yu used her phone to check for the correct answers and all of them were right. She looked at Izuku with a bit of fear and apprehension:
"What are you? There is no way for a pair of brats to be so capable? What kind of quirks do you have?" Yu asked in disbelief. The only logical explanation would be if both of them have some sort of enhancement quirk. Pity for her sanity that the case is different:
"I have an explosion quirk cousin. I can create explosions from my palms." Katsuki made some small sparks from both hands:
"As for me, I don't have a quirk at all." Izuku said, further surprising the poor teen:
"Q...Quirkless? Like n...no quirk at all? If this is a joke it isn't funny." Yu was shaking a bit as she looked at the green haired boy, her voice weak:
"No, I am not joking. Why would I joke about something like that? Also, are we going to have a problem about me being quirkless?" Izuku smiled as he subtly threatened:
"Yeah, is there an issue about my best friend not having a quirk?" Katsuki added his own threat, his eyes focused on Yu. The teen quickly waved it all off, genuinely scared a bit:
"N...no, no, I was just surprised is all. I never met a quirkless person before, it is a bit weird."
She hastily replied. Izuku and Katsuki kept staring at Yu. While the blonde girl liked being the center of attention, the kind that these 2 boys were paying to her was something she never experienced before. She felt like a piece of meat surrounded by shark, ready to be devoured. Thankfully, the kids started laughing and the intence atmosphere lightened:
"We're just messing with you cousin, relax. We are all friends here." The 2 patted each other with smiles and laughter. If Yu didn't know any better, she would consider that Izuku and Katsuki may be brothers. Still, taking into account how close the Midoriyas and the Bakugos are, this may not be so far from the truth. The 2 boys truly do almost everything together:
"Yes, I have no issue about being quirkless. It is not some disease or disability. I merely lack a superpower. Besides, I was born a genius so I more than make up for my lack of a quirk. Adding the amount of effort I put, I know I can achieve almost anything." Izuku finished. Yu didn't know what to say. She no longer saw her cousin and his friend as mere kids:
"Uhhh, since you are super intelligent and all, can you help me with my quirk? I have a gigantification quirk but I can only turn it on or off, either 1.62 meters or 20.62 meters." The blonde teen asked, getting her hopes up:
"For starters, you should work on your body first. You won't be able to utilise your quirk at every case and scenario. Being a hero requires versatility and adaptability. And I make no promises, but I may be able to make to build support equipment that affects quirks one day. I am smart after all and I may figure it out." Izuku answered. Katsuki was neutral at the declaration, knowing very well that if anyone could figure out how to affect or edit quirks, it's Izuku who will figure it out. Yu however was far more ecstatic, hugging Izuku and spinning him around as she laughed and thanked him:
"Not that I don't like being spun around, but we are in a bit of an awkward position." Izuku neutrally said as Yu saw what he meant. The green haired boy's head was right between her ample breasts. The blonde blushed and quickly let go, Katsuki laughing at her expense. Izuku gave an impish grin as he decided to turn his charm on:
"There is no reason to be ashamed of your body my dear. You are a well developed and kind young woman that every man should line up and want as a girlfriend. Only someone stupid would pass up the chance to be with you. If it wasn't for me being only 8 years old, I wouldn't mind being with you." Izuku finished and kissed Yu's hand. The poor girl was completely frozen, her face beet red and Katsuki laughing harder than ever:
"Uh..I...I don't know..." Yu started stuttering, trying to think of what to do or say, Katsuki's laughter not registering in her ears. The blonde teen was completely magnetized by Izuku, his words and his actions. Luckily for her, Katsuki decided to stop laughing and help his cousin shake off the effect that Izuku caused to her:
"Hey cousin, look at me. Focus on me." Katsuki grabbed Yu's face, making her look at him. She shook her head to dispel the previous feelings of dizziness:
"Whoa, what was that? Does Izuku secretly have a seduction quirk or something?" The blonde teen asked:
"No no no no, that was all all him and some bullshit technique he discovered years ago. Don't worry, he is like that with almost every woman he comes across, even my mother."
Katsuki briefly explained. The explosive boy got used to Izuku being charming to girls and women he considers pretty. Strange that he doesn't utilise his charms at school but considering that most boys hate the green eyed boy for his lack of a quirk, not really all that surprising. Aldera Primary School is a quirkist shithole of an establishment, constantly praising those with flashy and powerful quirks like Katsuki. The 2 friends heard rumors that Aldera Middle school is similar, oh joy. The blond boy however understood that Izuku is right, that empty praises and flatteries will not make him a better hero, only an arrogant brat with an overinflated sense of self worth:
"Now, back to the matter in hand, would you like to see how me and Kacchan train?" Izuku asked Yu. The blond, her mind now clear, though for a bit. She was curious of what kind of regimen the young boys must be following to turn like this. They are like the Spartans of greek myth, training to be warriors since the age of 6:
"Sure, why not? I mean, how hard can it be?"
Yu agreed. If only she knew what she signed up for...
The next day afternoon, Izuku's forest gym...
Yu was all sweaty and in pain, her muscles aching and her joints stiff. Running, jumping, crawling, falling, climbing, sit-ups, push-ups, squat thrusts and many other exercises she has no names for turned the cheery blonde into a tired wreck. Just how the hell can these kids more than keep up with her despite their difference in strength, size and stamina? What are these boys made of, steel?:
"Come on slowpoke, you chickening out already?" The tyrant, aka Izuku, asked. Gone was the charming little boy that Yu just met, replaced with the ruthless, vicious, sarcastic, calculating, green haired and green eyed taskmaster that Izuku truly can be when he wants to get the job done right:
"What... What the hell are you made off?" Yu asked between ragged breaths. Izuku was still doing salmon ladder pull-ups while Katsuki was standing upside down, doing push-ups with his legs in full split with weights tied on each leg:
"This is how we have been training cousin. For the past 2 years. Every day except Sundays and holidays." Katsuki said between repetitions as his sweat poured from his skin and down on the ground. These 2 boys truly redefined the word hardcore when it comes to training. Yu, not letting her pride admit defeat in front of 2 children half her age, decided to keep pushing herself and become stronger, faster and tougher:
"Like hell I am losing to you brats. Bring it on." She answered with fire and conviction. An alarm bell rang however. It came from Izuku's phone:
"Luckily for you we are cutting today's exercise session short. I have to take care of something. New things to invent and test, you know." Izuku announced. Yu sighed in relief, Katsuki grumbled in annoyance, saying that he could do more:
"Will we walk back home or are we taking the tub again?" Katsuki asked. Yu was confused, not understanding what the tub means:
"Not this time Kacchan. Now shut up and feast your eyes on this." Izuku went behind a bush and brought a new contraption, some kind of helicopter with 4 rotors, almost like a gigantic drone:
"Izuku you crazy bastard. Did you finally finished the quadcopter?" Katsuki asked and Izuku nodded with a smile. The explosive blonde whooped in delight, looking forward to flying. Yu however was more reserved:
"Is it even legal to own this thing, let alone fly it?" The purple eyed teen wasn't that comfortable to the prospect of flying, especially when the pilot is an 8 year old boy:
"If you want to walk back home, be my guest. Me and Kacchan however are taking the high road." Izuku responded and moved to enter the
quadcopter, Katsuki following behind. Yu knew that she would have to walk at least half an hour to reach yhe Bakugo residence, tired as she is. So she decided to throw caution in the air and join the 2 kids:
"Alright, screw it, I am coming with." One pleasant yet disturbing detail that Yu noticed is that Izuku and Katsuki have no issue with swearing and take no offence from it. She almost forgets from time to time that she is speaking with kids half her age, it is almost surreal. Thus, she entered the back seat and fastened her seatbelts. At least Izuku took safety seriously enough when he built this crazy contraption:
"If you are afraid of heights, we can just ride in the motorized bathtub, you know." Izuku gave a last warning:
"Don't pussy out now cousin, it's gonna be fun." Katsuki taunted with a smirk, buckled up in the co-pilot seat. Katsuki was always fascinated with flying and while he could, in theory, use his quirk to fly, he is still too young and his quirk doesn't provide enough power to lift off. Still, he hopes that one day he will. For now, he is cool with being the copilot of Izuku's wacky vehicles, he even drove the bathtub a few times. While he doesn't like being the follower, Izuku is just too far ahead despite his lack of a quirk. Katsuki has little issue being the 'young apprentice' as long as he learns stuff and becomes the world's greatest hero come hell or high water:
"Shut you mouth you little shit! I am more than ready to fly." Yu smacked Katsuki's head and huffed. Look at the cocky little brats trying to pretend they are big time she thought:
"Alright then, this is Midoriya airlines 01 taking off, here we go." Izuku announced with a faux pilot accent. The quadcopter took off smoothly and started climbing at higher and higher altitudes, until the tops of the trees and nearby buildings were visible from above. The trio was flying for the first time. While Izuku tested the quadcopter, he did so remotely, not wanting to risk it. It took him 9 months of building and testing to get it done, but the result is more than worth it:
"Wow, we're flying, it's amazing." Yu said in delight and disbelief looking through the transparent canopy of the flying machine. While she had the power to grow gigantic, she never had the opportunity to look from such a high vantage point as she yet lacked permission to use her quirk except when training in UA. She will definitely try and enjoy the view now that she has the chance:
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, it's nice and all. But I am not so easily impressed Deku." Katsuki delivered his verbal jab. Izuku tilted the quadcopter in such a way that Katsuki hit his head on his seat:
"I told you not to call me that Kacchan." Izuku said in a lighthearted manner. The green haired boy still hates being called Deku and ensures that everyone gets it. Many bullies regretted calling him such after he beat them. Izuku may be a good boy, but he can be vindictive and spiteful when insulted or attacked. Katsuki still calls him such because he likes getting a rise out of his best friend:
"Why, do I hurt you feelings? Are you not the fearless and tough as nails son of a bitch we all know and fear?" Katsuki asked. This is how the rest of the ride went, with the 2 kids bickering like a married couple. Finally, they reached the destination and landed smoothly. Yu decided that, despite being weird and still young, Izuku and Katsuki really know what they are doing. Yu decided to make them stop their arguing:
"While your arguments are very interesting I fo have a question. Is it possible to train with you 2 again?" Yu hopefully asked. While still sore, she knew that doing the kind of training Izuku and Katsuki do almost everyday would be the key to becoming a better hero. Plus, she still has high hopes of getting that sweet support equipment that Izuku promised. The boy may be at least partially mad, but Yu doesn't believe he is a liar:
"What do you say Kacchan? Do you want to train with your cousin again?" Izuku asked his brother in everything but blood:
"Eh, why the fuck not? The more the merrier after all." Katsuki shrugged. The following months Yu would learn the true meaning of pain and misery, but she would become stronger, faster, tougher and better. But for now, she will relax and kick back, knowing that her path to heroism is wider open than before.
2nd April 2339, UA Academy, Musutafu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan
Yu's third year in UA class 3B has started yesterday. Thanks to Izuku's and Katsuki's brutal training regimen, the blonde teen is better than ever before when it comes to physical prowess. Plus, the new experimental supplements made by Izuku helped Yu reach a height of 1,75 meters compared to her old 1,62. With her quirk amplifying her strength and toughness even in her standard height, Yu can lift 7 times her weight, run at a maximum of 55 kilometers per hour for a whole hour yet she has flexibility and agility in spades, allowing her to do splits, handstands, flips and other gymnastics moves. Yu's fellow students noticed her changes and immediately started assaulting her with excited questions and compliments. The purple eyed teen, of course, enjoyed the attention and praise as it made her feel like a limelight hero already. Yet behind her toned, voluminous body, big smile, vanity and attention seeking mannerisms, Yu possesses a keen intellect and is not an idiot, despite what her appearance and behavior might suggest. The teen gracefully answered the questions, saying she found 2 trainers who were willing to help her. She kept their identities secret however, as both Izuku and Katsuki didn't want to, in their words, have to deal with a bunch of hero wannabes who want to train for free. Yu kept her word and intends to keep the secret, as she still trains with the 2 kids and wants the promised support equipment from Izuku. Another thing she learned from Izuku is seduction techniques, as the green haired boy already proved highly competent at the sector:
"Seriously, is there anything that Izuku is unable to do?" Yu mused. She did ask the green eyed boy if there is anything that he cannot do. Izuku confessed that he sucks when it comes to matters of art and fine things, as he is more focused to practicality, functionality and whether what he builds is robust and reliable, meaning that his equipment is not that pleasant to the eye, but it is good. Yu already tested the segmented armor that Izuku built for her. The various armor segments are held with magnets and are designed to protect her when she is in her normal size while they are not torn apart when she grows gigantic. The magnetic armor parts clasp together again when Yu shrinks back to normal size:
"The only bad thing about the armor is the color scheme. I like the make and it is form fitting, but I hate this drab grey. Seriously, doesn't Izuku know what paint is?" She mused. Still, Yu can seduce someone from the support department to give it a good coat of paint for her, no biggie. Definitely something in bright purple and pearl white, like her hero outfit:
"These past months have been quite eventful. Izuku and Katsuki may be some 8 year old brats, but they are in no way average 8 year old brats." Yu monologued.
Meanwhile in Takoba Beach, Musutafu, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan
Izuku is seen looking through the garbage, searching for parts and other useful scrap. He is trying to gather enough circuitry in order to attain the necessary amount of gold to build the matter transmuter, a device capable of transmuting any type of matter into other chemical elements, like plastic into tungsten, wood into iron, paper into uranium and who onows what other material, maybe even elements that don't naturally occur, like darmstadtium, plutonium and others:
"It will be incredible. All these rare elements easily available. I will be able to create almost anything. Just need to find enough raw materials. And then there is the matter of energy, I will need to build a reactir before I can fire up and test the matter transmuter. We are already a bit tight when it comes to money, no need to further exaggerate the issue with a high electric bill." Izuku monologues as he searches through the garbage. It has been almost 3 years since Izuku first came to Takoba with his mother. He has been visiting this illegal junkyard almost every once a week in search of materials for his invention. Weird that no one else does the same. Maybe it's the smell, Izuku mused as he smirked:
"Hey, who are you and what are you doing with my scrap?" A young female voice shook Izuku away from his musings. He was so absorbed that he didn't notice her approaching. Izuku saw a girl with pink dreadlocks and yellow eyes coming. Her clothes were covered in stains but she looked strong for her age, most likely the same age as Izuku:
"Your scrap? This is a public area and the junk is free game for everyone." The green haired boy retorted. That answer seemed to annoy the pink haired girl a lot, making her approach Izuku and put her finger on his nose, poking it repeatedly as she puncuated every word:
"And I say that only inventors have the right to
use this scrap, not some random idiot who fancies himself a creator of super cute babies. I mean, what are you even trying to make with all these circuit boards?" Izuku was very tempted to just grab the girl's offending limb and flip her over her head, but finding the chance to talk with a fellow inventor, especially one of the same age as him, was rare:
"Well guess what dreads, I am an inventor too. As for why I collected so many circuit boards, that is for me to know and you not to care about." Izuku gave a huff and a smirk. Sure, the girl is cute but she is also annoying, cares not about boundaries and is seemingly uncaring about things like manners. Sure, Izuku swears and sometimes insults, but only when he can get away with it scot free and without harming someone's feelings too badly:
"An inventor huh? Well, if that's the case... I am Mei Hatsume, aspiring inventor and future owner of Hatsume Industries." The pink haired girl introduced herself. Izuku was tempted to give his own name and have a nice chat with a fellow maker of devices and creator of gadgets, but something in her crosshair shaped pupils and eerie focus gave him pause. While ingenious and creative, Mei also looked maniacal and quite possibly unhinged. No, Izuku wasn't afraid, but his instincts were screaming to him that Mei Hatsume should be given a good amount of distance to aboid possible accidents:
"Pleased to make your acquaintance, but I have to go. I've got things to invent and devices to test so I will leave with the stuff I collected." Izuku answered without giving his own name. He was almost certain that if Mei learned about him, she would track him down for whatever purpose. Izuku knew he sounded paranoid, but something about Hatsume just rubbed him the wrong way:
"Hey, I introduced myself and now you must do the same. How am I gonna track you down and invent new babies without knowing who you are and where you live? As your future employer I demand to know." Mei demanded. Talk about straightforwardness and total honesty. Still, Izuku has absolutely no reason to give his name to the questionably sane girl:
"The answer is simple sweetheart, you will not track me down and we will not invent anything together. I work solo." Izuku took his loot and put it in a compartment in his motorised bathtub. Some may call him eccentric, but the greenette took a liking to the white bathtub with its noisy engine and plenty of room. Of course he made several modifications over the years, like a better engine, wider wheels and a roof to turn his bathtub into a convertible:
"I am not a sweetheart and you don't get to decide that. What is your name? Where do you live? What do you need all these circuit boards for? And is that a bathtub? I have so many questioooons!" Too late for Hatsume, Izuku already rode away, leaving the pinkette behind in a trail of sand and exhaust fumes. Some might have called Izuku harsh, but he is pretty sure that he didn't actually hatm Mei's feelings. Also, there is a very real possibility that the 2 will meet again next time Izuku goes to get materials for his inventions:
"I really need to take measures. She doesn't seem like a bad girl but she is very annoying and has no regard for boundaries. I cannot afford her to know my name, address or inventions. She is too enthusiastic and easy to share information while my eork requires discretion. A real pity, I would love to chat with a fellow inventor. Who knows, she may mature and become wiser in a few years."
