Chapter 8
How could this be reality
Nothing made sense
How could the one thing you believed to be real be so far from the truth
Do other's know that reality isn't as objective as we thought
Does anybody know
Danni
Why was this happening? Why did it go from happy stuff to the most fucked up thing she didn't even remember? Why couldn't she even remember? Did her powers have anything to do with it or was this the doing of the weird old ghost who started this all? If it is that old fart's fault, did he make her see something that isn't real? Is that why she never remembered it happening in the first place?
The high speed train that were her thoughts was paused, distracted by a sudden blue flash from below. She looked at her bedroom, her younger self sleeping in bed. The wound on her thigh was still there and didn't look good. All her injuries had healed except for that one. It seemed to be infected as well. Except for the wound she looked rather okay. She was laying in a typical position, which she had gotten yelled at for, thinking she had broken her back in her sleep. She never understood what they were talking about. It started with a simple starfish position, bring up one knee to your chest and proceed to turn your upper body to the opposite direction. It was perfectly comfortable but looking at it from above she could get why people thought she broke. As comfortable as it was, it was hard to keep any position for long periods of time due to the painful wound on one of her thighs.
Now this she did remember.
The thing was a pain to heal. She never really remembered where it came from and after a few days of pain the thing disappeared overnight. Honestly she hadn't thought of the strange incident. The whole period around it was hazy and littered with blank spots.
The blue flash brought on a pair of clock hands, spinning around and opening a portal. Out of the portal stepped a giant beast with an arm made of ice and a belt with leather pouches attached to it.
What was Frostbite doing in her room and why didn't she wake up from the glowing portal right next to her. Her ghost sense didn't even go off!
Silently, Frostbite took out an orange vile and some pads before gingerly lifting up her wounded leg and disinfecting the wound. With each passing of the strange orange liquid, flakes of glowing green would come with. Once he was satisfied with the cleaning he took out another set of pads and a small pot with yellow paste in it. He coated both wounds on her thigh in a thick layer before wrapping it in a thin sheet of ice to keep the paste in place.
He packed up all his stuff and put the dirty pads in a container with a strange logo on it. It looked similar to the biohazard symbol used in the human world so it likely was the equivalent of that for the Zone.
As suddenly as he appeared, the frost yeti left once more leaving the younger alone in her room.
From above Danni wondered why Frostbite never told her he patched up her leg or that he even visited that night. Why did his portal look so weird? Aren't portals supposed to be green? And as far as she knew, the yeti chief didn't have the power to create any.
Come to think of it, Blur wasn't here either. Neither the distorted girl not her red chains were anywhere in sight.
Deep in thought, she didn't notice the barrier started to break. Realization hit as a deep crack formed right under her with an audible snap. She didn't know what to do, she couldn't fly. It was as if she had no access to her powers anymore. Panicked, she looked around and fearfully followed the cracks that appeared faster and faster after the other until she was left in the middle of a spiderweb.
She tried her best to not move. If she did it would break. But if she didn't at least try to fly then who knows what would happen once it breaks.
All the worrying was for nothing as she felt a sudden weight push her through the barrier, shattered pieces falling all around the scene below. She tried to fly up but the invisible force kept pushing her down, straight to the sleeping youngster. She tried to brace herself as she came dangerously close to the bed.
Only she didn't hit the bed.
Danni shot up from her bed with all the momentum she had before, covered in sweat.
What just happened?
Was it all a dream?
She looked around trying to figure out what happened. She was in her room just as she had left it the previous night before falling asleep. She still couldn't shake the feeling something was off. Wasn't she in the GhostZone before this?
Had it all been a dream?
A nightmare?
As her eyes fell on her door she had to take a double take to make sure she wasn't hallucinating.
Grabbing the note she read it over a million times, forcing herself to believe it wasn't all a dream.
Dearest Danielle Grayson,
Now you know who I am
Do you know who you are?
Questions may be answers for those who wish to know the answer
When you are ready, feel free to come
I trust you know where to go
~CW
So it was real. Not just a dream. It had to be. And that damned Cuckoo clock caused it all. Oh was she ready to slap some sense into that meddling ectoplasmic blob of existence.
However, at the same time she did have questions and he seemed to hint he knows what she wants to know.
Contemplating her options, she absently reached to where the wound on her thigh was. If she concentrated enough she could still feel the rusty plier and those god forsaken teeth. She had to know what happed to her original memory of the event. If it was even real and not some fabrication.
She sighed as she got up and prepared to leave. She had to know why she didn't remember and what else might still be hidden from her.
Wayne Manor
Dick laid in bed and stared at his ceiling. It's been a few days since the training went wrong. Everybody had started sessions with Dinah but things were going slow.
After his breakdown that night with Bruce, he completely shut down. He didn't want to talk about it. Barely acknowledged any conversation about the topic. His overall mood sunk a bit more and he grew more and more distant from the team. Not like they noticed it that much as everybody was a bit absent.
The ones who survived the longest had the most trouble looking at the others. Their deaths flashing before them. They did attempt to have a group session before, but nobody was comfortable to share. The pressure got too much for M'gann, who blamed herself for it all, and had to excuse herself from the room. After that they have yet to try again.
He knew Dinah was likely getting frustrated with him. All he did was sit in the chair and stare at her if the questions came even remotely close to what he didn't want to discuss.
Bruce had also noticed the absent mindedness of his ward. With Alfred and Dinah's approval he pulled Dick from patrol. At first the boy objected but gave up rather quickly as he couldn't not agree with their reasoning. On one hand, he wanted to be out and look for his sister. On the other he knew that his head wasn't in the game either. Thus he temporarily hung his cape and tried to focus on school.
The days passed rather fast, not paying attention in class, stuck in an endless train of thought. He tried to keep up a false front to his friends but he knew that when he was in class, they weren't there to see the deep set frown or his eyes glaze over as his mind drifted. In all honesty, the breaks were the only thing he really remembered from his day. His friends trying to talk to him and involving him in conversation, Artemis who was either only half responding to them or haven taken a sick day.
He did briefly wonder how everybody was doing.
Kaldur tried to put up a brave façade but they saw through it. He felt responsible for letting everybody down, which he tried to compensate by regularly requesting if he could help anybody with something. He hasn't really been at Mount Justice or the surface world a lot but he does keep communications up, just in case. When he had a nightmare and called everybody to make sure they were okay, nobody blamed him.
M'gann often had puffy eyes, but if anybody noticed they did not mention it. She tried to get into baking again but her heart wasn't in it. It was more a time filler than something she enjoyed. No one mentioned how there was a change in the flavor of her favorite cookies. The once flavorful treat now only a subtle aftertaste. The mind link hasn't been up since then either. Nobody asked for it either.
Superboy was harder to figure out. The clone wasn't prone to showing emotions before, so to an outsider there wasn't much difference. But if you looked closely you could sometimes see how he looked a mix of sadness and anger after interacting with the team. He mostly spend his time watching static or being out with Wolf. It was rare to see the clone without his furry companion these days. Sphere was getting some routine cleaning but for the rest, the alien tech was ignored.
Artemis tried to act like she was okay. She had her usual tough attitude cranked up a notch as a defense so most would avoid talking to her about things outside of mundane topics. She spend only a little bit of her time at the cave. Just a bit before and after a session and when M'gann asked her to come and try a dish she made. She too blamed herself, setting off M'gann's powers to go haywire, which made it hard to face the others.
Then there was Wally. It hurt a bit to think about it but Dick hadn't talked much to him outside of a slightly satirical 'how are you' or something about a new game they were both looking forward too releasing. Wally was at the cave more than Artemis, usually the one to finish whatever M'gann made.
Bruce had been getting more than a bit worried about the boy, keeping track of his file made by Canary. He had been working hard and scanning Arkham City for any activity of Joker or even something remotely Joker-esque. Excluding a few robberies by his goons there wasn't much. The thugs has been too low ranking to know anything about the whereabouts of the missing criminal.
Word on the street turned into claims of Joker being captured and hidden in a different prison so nobody would find him but those were quickly proven false. Gotham's underground was growing restless knowing the usual irate clown was laying low. The longer it dragged on, the tenser everyone became. If nothing happened it would have to mean he planned something big, right?
Paying no heed to rumors, Bruce focused more on the information Robin brought after the failed training. After checking some points with J'ohnn, they concluded it was rather impossible for M'gann to drag in a mind so far out of her reach. They did however have a theory that the damage made by M'gann's subconscious was far greater than the teens let on.
Dinah had reported that after it went wrong, they had tried to make contact with their families. Noted in Kaldur's report was that they had contact with Atlantis and Robin's family and friends, but Wally was unsuccessful in locating his family.
They speculated that, as unintentional as it may be, M'gann picked up on the distress of her teammates and included people in the scenario based on what the others thought of most. It would explain why there had been a mention of family and friends in the reports and Dick's own mention of activating the defenses of Gotham, Central and Star. Although, the older Martian wasn't quite sure how it happened that the one girl had such a prominent role compared to the background roles the other reported things had. Suspicions were placed on the strong connection between Robin and the dubbed Moroi.
Bruce knew immediately who it was about. How had he not noticed before, the connection was very clear. What little information he did get from the thugs, along with old reports from witnesses, there was a new criminal running with Joker a few times that went by the alias 'Poltergeist'. Though he thought his ward wasn't aware of that part, he did know Dick had been thinking a lot of what Joker had said about his sister and the connection wasn't that far fetched with what 'moroi' translated to in their native language.
The likely scenario was that M'gann did bring in others based on the subconsciousness of the others and combined with the training scenario materialized those whom they worried for the most.
No matter how hard they tried, something had to go wrong.
For Wally it was losing his family, Kaldur sacrificed himself to protect the others though there are hints in the reports that his last connection to Atlantis was severed by the alien attacks. As for M'gann it was losing her team and her love. On Superboy's loss they were still unclear, the Kryptonian had been rather uncooperative in his sessions with Dinah. Even more than Dick it seems.
After their latest session, Dinah requested to take Dick out again. Not on patrol, but for a night out. If anything would happen, Robin was to be sent home immediately for his own safety. The boy was growing restless and would easily overthink everything with is new found free time. A calm night out was surely needed.
After doing his research and planning out a route, he prepared to set out for the night. Dick was still getting changed. Batman checked his maps and sensors to make sure there were no mistakes. The night's plan was simple. Cover as many warehouses as they could with sensors. Starting with the ones they had previously checked before and focusing their effort mainly in Arkham City. If Robin's info could even remotely be true, they had to make sure of it, even if it just turned out to be something the exercise created.
He couldn't risk disappointing his young ward again. He had to look at it. Who knows, maybe their twin telepathy that they were so proud of had something to do with it.
The boy had flashed the smallest of smiles after he was informed. It felt good knowing the man who he looked up to still believed him and checked. They weren't going to throw around sensors if there wasn't a hunch that it would lead to something.
With both now dressed and ready to go, they set out to start what would turn out to be a rather uneventful night. As uneventful as it may be it was a welcomed distraction and dare he admit he enjoyed being out.
Danni
It felt like it was ages ago that she was last in the Zone but at the same time it felt like her first encounter with the time ghost never happened. He likely purposefully messed with her perception of time.
She stared at the green swirls in the sky. They reminded her of what she saw in her own eyes as Joker pulled that ring out. She wondered what color her eyes were now, though would never admit she expertly avoided every reflective surface on her way here.
Did she fear them to be red?
So what if they were, she obviously can think for herself, not like after…
What if they weren't?
Which color would they be if they weren't red?
It's been so long since she reverted back to her human self that she isn't so sure of her natural color anymore.
Were they blue?
Or that neon green?
Given the chance, would she dare to look?
Nevermind all that. She was here for a reason. She had no idea where she had to go. The crazy old clock didn't give her a time to be in the Zone. 'I trust you know where to go' She repeated over and over. 'When you are ready, feel free to come'
Yeah, sure, she definitely did not know where to go. Last time she just floated about waiting for the assigned time. That's it. Nothing special. It's not like there was some spell to cast to make it appear.
"Re-raeppa rewot dips-dipust eht ekam, raeppa rewot dipust eht ekam!" She wiggled her fingers, trying in vain to will the tower into appearing. So what if she wasn't a magic user, she could have tried!
It's hopeless, she has no clue how to make the damn thing appear. She floated down to sit on a rock and swung her feet over the edge. Why did she even come here, it's not like she actually want to talk to the ghost. She just wanted to know what was going on. Why couldn't she remember things.
Clockwork did say something about my powers being untrained and having side effects. Maybe this was one of them? But why could she not remember using her powers if it was her who made her forget!
Danni screamed in frustration and slammed her fist on the ground creating a small dent with small cracks in the dry stone. "This is useless!" She yelled, "I just want to know what happened." It was almost too quiet to hear, almost.
"Well," a voice said from behind her, "though I would appreciate if you would not destroy the foundation of my beloved abode, I did tell you to come when you were ready, didn't I."
The girl spun around quickly only to come face to face with the master of time himself. She stared at the tower which had materialized onto the not so random rock. "You- How- WHAT? Do you have any idea how long I was wandering this place looking for you!"
"Ah yes, but you were not ready."
"Am I ready now then?" She questioned, glaring at the spirit as he turned into his older form who just smirked. "If you think you are not, you are welcome to leave."
She watched as the now toddler form retreated back into the tower, door remaining open. Sighing in annoyance she stomped her way inside. "Now, will you tell me what I want to know or are we going to play charades again?"
The ancient being did nothing but smirk at the annoyed teen. "Pushy aren't we?"
"Oh this isn't pushy. I can show you pushy if you don't answer."
The now middle aged ghost waved her off and floated to one of his panels. "No need for violence, child. You came here for answers, did you not?"
"I am NOT a-" She huffed, not bothering to finish her sentence as she levitated up to where the other ghost was waiting. Who was she kidding, she was younger than some of the dust flying in the air. As she came closer she could see the panel, more specifically she could see herself.
She was going around to all the Leaguers and erasing their memories of her. Some went by quickly as there weren't many to remove. Others took forever as she had a lot of contact with them. When it came to her closest contacts as Barry and Oliver, she turned away, unable to face what she had done to them. Sometimes she regrets taking the memories, wishing for it all to be like it used to be. She would get rid of those thoughts soon enough though. They abandoned her, they didn't help, they didn't look. Why should she care.
"Why are you showing me this." She asked in a whisper, hugging her arm close.
"This is you, is it not?" At a nod he continued, "You erased you existence from their memories, yet now you are feeling the own results of the power you possess."
"How did you-"
"Know? I see all that was, is and can be. I did decide which one of your many passed experiences to show. Just like I knew you would not remember, I knew you would come here."
"So those were real?" She muttered to herself. "If you knew I would come, why be so cryptic about everything?" The accusatory tone not hiding the great annoyance she felt.
"My bosses aren't too keen on my interferences unless it is what they want to happen. At the moment they aren't too happy with the power you possess. They're of the opinion you weren't meant to have the ability to 'mess with memories' as they put it." He said as he continued to watch the scenes play out.
Danni turned back to the elder ghost but could not make herself look at the panel. "So what are you going to do about it?"
"They wish for me to destroy the disturbance and correct the timeline. I, however, believe there is another way."
She rolled her eyes at his crypticness, getting sick of the incomplete answers. If she wanted to play around, she would have gone to the Riddler. "And what might that be, oh wise one?"
"One would be to train you so you won't cause any damage. The other would be to simply lock away the power for good." He stated as he watched Roy be ambushed and have his memories altered.
She blinked in surprise and smiled. She could just skip out on he hard work and forget it all happened and no worry anymore? Where to sign? "Okay well just do that second thing and be done with it."
The toddler sized ghost turned to the teen, the serious expression not matching his body. "If I were to do that now, you will never be able t restore what you have done. Including never getting your lost memories back."
Her smile faltered slightly. "What do you mean 'lost memories'? I saw what I didn't remember and I don't mind if I couldn't remember things like that." Lies. What else does she know that she doesn't remember?
"My dear, we both know that isn't true. Before I start your training there are some conditions-"
"Hold up, who said I agreed to the training?" She demanded. He may be the all seeing eye of time, but she had not agreed yet.
"You came back, didn't you." He smirked as her competitive stance fell. She had indeed, knowing what it would mean. "Alright fine, what are the conditions?"
"First, you need to catch up on your schooling-"
"WHAT"
"- and raise your average grade to a B at the very least. Secondly, you must be here every day for training. As long as you are within the tower, you will not age, so there will be no suspicions to the outside world. And lastly, you need to go out and make more friends."
Excuse me?
For the record, she did have friends! Selena was fun, she has cats and cats are fun and cuddly so definitely friends! At least, she was friends with Selena's cats when they wandered outside. The woman herself? Can't say for sure as she hadn't dared talk to her yet, but the catburglar never reacted violently so it must count, right?
Ivy was a friend too! Though, the woman did not know herself as they didn't interact before, but to Danni that counted as she wasn't an enemy either.
Then there was Frostbite. The frost yeti had helped her with her ice core, having one himself, but other than a few interactions she wasn't sure how they saw the other. Following the same logic as with Selina, he counted too.
Klemper was a special case as he was annoyingly desperate for friends, but once you talked to the poor sap he was pretty okay. He was the one who helped her to the Far Frozen after all. Plus it was never a bad thing to acquaint yourself with the rare few ice cores in the Zone.
Gentleman Ghost was the other ghost she knew in Gotham and since they hadn't tried to chase the other away yet, it counted as good as another.
Wulf was neutral. Though they didn't get into fights, it wasn't all super friendly either. Though there wasn't much to speak of, last she heard he was stuck with Walker again, that ass. She really had to find a way for him to be less of a glorified, power tripping torturer and more of an actual warden.
At this point, her little ghost puppy Cujo should count too. Though it has been a while since she saw the free roaming pup, they didn't attack each other so, yeah, friend. He was nice after she found his toy, and no attacks happened after. Maybe she should look for him? He is still a mere pup in the vast emptiness of the Zone.
Of course she had some friends outside of them but they were in different dimensions so she didn't have contact.
Cursed be those natural portals.
Danni crossed her arms in thought, not sure what to make of the deal. Sure she could actually go out of her room for once and be social, and sure she can send out a duplicate and send it to school but what is the use of it all? What does making friends and school have to do with controlling her powers?
She had control of most of them! Sure the ice could be rather annoying, but she doesn't accidentally freeze herself to death anymore! And it's not like she can actually safely practice her wail anywhere.
The thought of not having one of her powers actually under control is rather terrifying however. She had never noticed she couldn't control it. When she first used it, she just got close enough and then focused on what she wanted gone. But she never used it on herself, since she didn't even know she could. Maybe that was the issue. Not controlling it made it be so she accidentally did it to herself.
Coming to a decision, she reluctantly held out her hand for the elder ghost to shake. "Fine! Even though I don't see the point in making friends or going to school, I'll do it! But I'm not making any promises on the school part, I haven't gone in a year."
Clockwork grabbed her hand and shook it. With the chiming of the great bells of the tower, their deal had been made official.
Mount Justice
To say he was annoyed would be an understatement.
Dick had been content with laying in his room and staring at the ceiling. Or laying outside and looking at the sky. Even helping Alfred in the kitchen and promptly getting banned for committing crimes against the culinary arts, only to be let in again after few hours as the elderly man pitied the young lad. School had been more boring than usual as Artemis took another sick day and Barbara was actually sick.
Bruce however, got a plead from Alfred, requesting the boy to be sent to his friends or put to work as the kitchen needed a break from the atrocities the boy attempted to make. The butler had ran out of almost everything and needed time to send out the orders to restock the shelves without it all going missing the moment it arrived. Bruce couldn't take the boy to work with him either, the important meetings don't allow 13 year olds to attend. He also didn't want Dick alone in the Batcave at the moment as he didn't want to distract the boy with his current project. He promised to keep him updated when he found something, he is just double checking before telling him it case it turned out to be nothing.
Thus we arrive at his current predicament. Sitting on the couch in the Cave. His school let out earlier than the others so for now he was still alone. He had about 10 minutes before he expected M'gann and Superboy to arrive.
He contemplated on which ceiling would be more fun to stare at, living room or his bedroom. He also thought of wandering the grounds but, frankly, he didn't really feel like moving too much, so training was out of the count as well. He could have locked himself in his room the whole time and worked for school, but he did that so much already he is running ahead of his classes more than usual.
He was brought out of his musing by the approaching footsteps belonging to the resident aliens of the Cave. Cursing that he ran out of time to make a quick escape to his room, he remained on the couch looking up.
As M'gann walked into the living room she was surprised to see their youngest there. Robin hadn't been at the Cave much, but it was a welcome surprise. "Hey Robin. How have you been?" She slightly cringed at the dumb question but she didn't know what else to say. She did notice he was a bit thinner than before and decided to make him some food along with Conner's and hers.
"Oh, hi M'gann, hi Con." He greeted from the couch and shrugged, tilting his head a bit more so it was hanging over the back. "Eh, fine I suppose. Batman booted me to the Cave because it got on his nerves that I stared at the ceiling too much. Pretty sure it had something to do with being banned from the kitchen for the nth time too." He frowned. He didn't mean to talk as much but it had been a while since he talked to his friends. Yay for progress.
"How come you got banned from the kitchen?" M'gann started getting everything out to make some sandwiches. Robin had helped her a couple of times so she couldn't think of a reason he would be banned from the kitchen.
Once again shrugging he watched her make the food. "Don't know really, something about committing crimes against the culinary arts. How was school?" Honestly at this point he didn't know why he kept talking, it felt like he wasn't in control of his mouth as autopilot had taken over, desperate for some social contact outside of his usual audience.
M'gann looked over to Connor who had started on homework. The sooner it's done the better. "It was pretty okay, math was the worst though. It's going to take me hours to get that assignment done." Ah yes the wonderful hell that was math. For some it was easy to understand. To others it was the bane of their existence. And to a are few, it was the bane of their existence because it was so easy. For you to guess which one the Boy Wonder fell under.
Robin wasn't sure if he should suggest to help or not. For now he still felt fine but who knows when he would feel like leaving and having to make an awkward exist. She didn't have many to offer help, and judging from the way Connor is trying to gain heat vision to burn his homework she didn't have much left. Silently sighing pushed himself further over the edge and flipped himself upright. "How about a trade then? Since you're making food, I'll take a sandwich in exchange for some tutoring."
Superboy looked up from his work to stare at the boy. "No offence but isn't this a few grades higher than yours?"
He almost smirked at that, almost. "Don't worry, I already skipped a few grades and am far ahead of my classes. Otherwise I'd be making my homework too now, but I wasn't allowed to take it with me. May I?"
He sent over a look to M'gann who shrugged helplessly. She was already going to make him food so really it was just free help. Eying him suspiciously, he pushed his notes to the boy wonder and watched him look over the problems.
After a minute or so, the younger let out a loud 'AHA' as he found the issue and pointed it out. " See, you're actually making it harder on yourself by doing these steps. If you would leave those out then it already becomes a lot less messy. I thought Cadmus implanted math already?"
It wasn't a rude comment, he genuinely sounded innocently confused. Connor started at his papers, not wanting to make eye contact. "They did but it was far more complicated than this. This doesn't make sense with the rules of the math I know." He confessed. It had always confused him why the harder things were easy but what is supposed to be 'simple high school math' seemed impossible.
Robin nodded as he pulled up a chair and used the pencil to make some small notes. "It would make sense judging from the steps you tried to make. Basically you only need to do half of what you actually tried to do. But I'm guessing your teachers force you to write down notes so they can see where you went wrong. When you're used to it you can just do it without the extra steps. All you have to do is-"
And so they occupied their time. Connor nodded along to what Robin was explaining as he wrote some extra notes on a separate paper. As M'gann finished the sandwiches, which were nicely wrapped in foil to prevent it from getting on the papers, she joined the two boys. As her understanding was far less than Connor's programming, Robin did his best to explain it to her and give her tips on extra steps she could take to make it more organized for her.
With a bit more corrections, the older teens made their homework as Robin munched on his sandwiches, supervising the work in case they needed help or he spotted a mistake. They didn't mind getting help from the younger. It was quite refreshing to have a talk like that.
All in all they enjoyed the feeling of each other's company after falling into a comfortable silence.
Time went on unnoticed as Robin got the alert he would be allowed back inside the Manor without Alfred chasing him out. He bid his farewell to his friends and left to Zeta home.
Walking out of the portal, he took a quick shower and changed to more Alfred approved attire. He went straight for the kitchen knowing he'll find the butler preparing dinner.
"Hey Alfred." He greeted as he hoped he would succeed in grabbing a cookie without the man noticing. But atlas, his hand got slapped away. Even if he is facing the other way, the man will know when you're trying to take a cookie.
"Welcome back, Master Richard. Do try to stay off of the sweets until after supper. How was your afternoon?"
"It was pretty okay. Helped M'gann and Connor with math. I never thought he would be bad at math, though I have a feeling that if I would tell anybody he would hunt me down." A smile ghosted over his lips at the thought of an enraged Superboy chasing him as he yells math equations at the poor clone.
Alfred knew exactly what the boy was imagining and contemplated on telling the boy off from tormenting the poor clone. He decided against it, knowing the lad would need all the entertainment he can get. "I'm glad you enjoyed yourself, young sir. May every afternoon be this entertaining. I'm sure Master Bruce has let you know you'll be spending the rest of the week's afternoons there."
Excuse me
Hold up

Hope you guys enjoyed!
See you next time!
