After finishing her rounds, Callie went home to get ready for her non-date date. She reached Joe at 5 minutes to 6.
She looked around for a blonde head but didn't find any; Sighing, she headed towards the bar and sat on the stool "Hey Joe," Callie greeted the Bartender.
"Hey, Dr. Torres… How are you doing today?" Joe said in his usual cheerful manner.
"Good Joe… I am doing Good," Callie replied with a smile.
"Where is your squad?" Joe asked, looking around.
"Well, I am not with them today... I am… I am… meeting someone," Callie said, surprised by the blush that came on her face just by thinking about the blonde.
"Oh! You are on a date?" Joe teased, "About time."
Callie squinted her eyes at Joe's teasing. "Not on date… but… just… just meeting."
"Okay, Dr. Torres... gotcha!" Joe replied, winking, "The usual for you?"
"Ummm… just a red wine."
She slowly started to sip the wine and kept glancing at her watch. It was still not six, but for Callie, it felt like she had been waiting for eternity. No matter how often she met Arizona, her heart did a little dance every time; even the thought of her came to her mind. She was both enjoying as well as getting frustrated with this feeling. She had been known for falling hard and fast before, and by the butterflies, she was feeling right now, she knew she was on the same path again. She tried to control herself, gave herself pep talks, and warned herself by recounting the examples of past failed relationships in which she skipped the steps and jumped right into something big. She married an intern in Vegas only after a few months of dating. She fell for Erica after realizing she was into women, which was a disaster at another level. So, her logical brain was telling her to slow down and tread carefully, but her heart knew that she never felt like this for anyone the way she felt for Arizona. It was like a magnet, and the pull was too strong to ignore. She hopes that the other woman feels that too.
"Excuse me, Ma'am," A voice said to Callie, breaking her out of her thoughts; she turned around and found the object of her thoughts standing with her usual dimpled smile.
"I am looking for a gorgeous, extremely hot ortho surgeon," Arizona said smirkingly "have you seen her by any chance?"
Callie bit her lower lip to stop smiling too hard; she took a deep breath and cleared her throat. "Well, I don't think she is here yet, but you can sit with me while you wait for her," she said, raising her one eyebrow, which Arizona found highly sexy.
"Hmmm," Arizona pretended to ponder over that. "Well, I guess I can join you… but I hope my date doesn't see us and get any wrong ideas." So, it IS a date!
"Would that be so wrong if she does?" Callie said in a husky voice, moving closer to Arizona, "I don't think she deserves you… I mean… who in the right mind would keep a beautiful woman like you… waiting?"
Arizona closed her eyes and stifled a groan when the intoxicating smell of Callie infiltrated her senses. Callie observed the look on Arizona's face. A triumphed smile graced her lips. She leaned in to whisper in Arizona's ear and saw her breath hitch. "So? Am I worth the risk?"
Arizona slowly opens her eyes, all coherent thoughts leaving her mind "t-to-totally…ahem."
Callie was enjoying Arizona's dazed look immensely; it was usually her who gets all flustered around Arizona but looking at her so out of words made her realize that she wasn't the only one who was utterly whipped in this relationship.
Callie took Arizona's hand and pulled her towards the booth. Sitting face to face with still far-looking Arizona, Callie said, "Hi!"
Arizona, coming out of her trance, smiled her dimpled smile. "Hey," she giggled.
"How are you?" Callie asked, smiling brightly
"I am good… now," Arizona said with a flirty smirk.
"And we are back," Callie said, rolling her eyes and laughing
"What?" Arizona asked, confused.
"Yup… I thought I had you today… you know, all flustered and blushing… because it's always me who reacts like this in front of you…." Callie laughed, "But you are back to your confident, flirty, and wayward self."
Arizona laughed wholeheartedly, throwing her head back, giving Callie a nice view of her slender neck.
"What!" Callie said, swatting Arizona's hand lightly.
"Dr. Torres," Arizona said with sparkling eyes, "You… make me speechless… every time I am around you, it's like my mind goes on vacation… and… and it… scares me," she added hesitantly.
"Scares you?"
"Yup… I have never felt like this… that too…so soon… we have been on one date, and I feel such a strong pull towards you that it scares me…." Arizona said and put her hand over Callie's "don't get me wrong… it's like a good kind of scared… like the thrill you get before getting on to the roller coaster…."
Callie smiled brightly and turned her hand to grab Arizona's. "I understand… I feel the same way… I was worried that I am the only one feeling like this"
"Believe me, Calliope, you aren't the only one, and I know it's soon…. But I …."
"TORRES!" before Arizona could complete her sentence; she was interrupted by a loud manly voice behind her.
"Shit," Callie mumbled while Arizona looked toward the person who had just interrupted their intimate conversation.
"Torres! I didn't know you would be here," Mark said, sliding next to Callie and pushing her inside. Callie glared at Mark and then looked toward Arizona with an apologetic smile.
"What are you doing here?" Callie asked with clenched teeth.
"Me," Mark asked in mock confusion. "I was just here to grab a few drinks… you know, being plastics God an all… really takes out of you." He added with pompous looks.
Arizona was looking at both of them, especially Mark, with utter confusion because he looked like he was trying to hide a smirk, whereas Callie was shooting daggers at him. Either he was a very good friend of Callie to have interrupted them like this or just a nosy co-worker, but before she could ponder further, Mark extended his hand toward Arizona.
"Mark Sloan, head of plastics at Seattle grace," Marked said with a smirk.
Arizona accepted the handshake with a polite smile "SSA Arizona Robbins."
"Oh, I have heard so much about you," Mark replied while Callie covered her face with her hands in embarrassment.
"Really?" Arizona looked curiously toward Callie. "I can't say the same thing about you; I am sorry."
"WHAT?" Mark over-exclaimed, "Torres, you didn't tell her about your BFF."
"I didn't get the time to talk about you, Mark." Callie replied, grinding her teeth, "and do you mind… we are on..." before Callie could finish, Mark turned toward Arizona again.
"So SSA Robbins, tell me about yourself… other than what Torres has told me about you."
"Well, I don't know what Calliope has told you about me, so I don't know what to tell you either," Arizona replied with a slight smile.
"You can tell me about anything other than your kissing abilities… because that's what she all talked about since the morning," Mark remarked, which got him a smack on his shoulder from Callie.
"Excuse me?" Arizona asked, shocked.
"Please don't mind him… he is joking, and he doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut," Callie glared at Mark.
"Oh, Common… she should be proud of this…." Mark said, rebuking, "She is better than me, you said… that's something."
Arizona's eyes widened at this revelation while Callie shouted, "Mark!"
"What?" Mark replied, still oblivious to the reaction to the statement he had just made.
"Could you please go and talk to someone else… you are interrupting our date," Callie said firmly.
"Oh, so it's a date now?" Mark smirked "but you said…."
"Go!" Callie yelled, "Get lost."
Mark lifted his hands in defense. "Ok, ok… chill out, women… I am going" he then turned to face Arizona and extended his hand again. "Nice to meet you, Agent Robbins, and my apologies for the interruption."
"Umm…That's ok…I guess…Nice meeting you too," Arizona said, shaking his hand.
"I am so so so sorry," Callie said, covering Arizona's hand with hers. "It's just that he is nosy and doesn't think before speaking, and we have been together for a very long time…."
Arizona raised her eyebrows at the last statement, and Callie corrected her quickly. "No, No …not like that… I meant to say that we have been friends for a very long time, so he doesn't think before speaking.
Arizona took a moment before speaking, "That's... that's okay… I get it… you don't need to apologize."
Callie released a breath in relief.
"So, what happened? Why were you upset?" Callie asked
"Oh... that's stupid… just my Boss hates me… so," Arizona said, shrugging
"Who can hate you?... that's simply impossible."
"You are sweet to say that… but he does… he and I don't see things in the same way… so whenever he gets the chance, he tries to catch my mistake and make it a bigger deal than it is," Arizona replied
"Does it have anything to do with why you were in my hospital the other day with three injured Agents?"
Arizona chuckled and nodded lightly. "You are smart."
"Well, I AM a surgeon…. So, I try," Callie replied, laughing and winking.
"Yes, it has everything to do with that"
"But You can't tell me because it's an ongoing investigation."
"But I can't tell you because it's an ongoing investigation," Arizona repeated in agreement.
They sat there talking and eating for a while when the song changed, and Arizona extended her hands toward Callie. "Dance with me."
"Arizona!" Callie said with wide eyes
"What? You don't dance?" Arizona teased
"No, I love dancing, but if you have forgotten, you have bummed ankle and shoulder… you are not allowed to dance."
"Oh, Come on… I am not completely invalid… I can stand and move a little," Arizona said with a pout.
"And how is gonna be fun when I am dancing, and you are just standing there?" Callie said with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, it will be fun for me," Arizona said with a smirk and then reduced her voice to a lower octave "it will be fun for me when you move your body against mine."
Callie took a shaky breath, and her heart did a summer sault hearing it. Composing herself with a few quick deep breaths, Callie said, "Okay then" She took Arizona's hand and guided her onto the dance floor.
Their gaze never wavered; once on the dance floor, Callie knew where she was and what she was doing; after all, it was her territory. She slowly put her forearms around Arizona's neck, and She, in return, wrapped one good hand Around Callie's waist, pulling her closer. They were only a breath away, and Nothing else seemed to matter anymore. They stayed like that, swaying lightly, lost in each other eyes, breathing each other in, involuntary drawing towards each other. They moved slowly with the music, enjoying the closeness. Callie's breath was tickling Arizona's cheek. Their lips were just a few millimeters away when the sudden music change brought them back to reality.
"You… ahem… wanna sit this one out," Arizona asked nervously.
Callie stepped away a little and smirked at Arizona's flushed face "Agent Robbins… the party has just started," she said in a sultry voice.
Callie was confident about herself and her Latina dance moves and was determined to make Arizona breathless. And true to her world, when she started swaying her hips and body to the upbeat rhythm of the music, Arizona forgot to breathe. She stood there mesmerized, staring at the brunette goddess flaunting her dance moves against the blond's body. The sensation that Arizona was getting was beyond anything she had ever felt. Callie would spin and lean her back to Arizona's front, grinding her hips to Arizona's or moving her hand sensually on Arizona's body while dancing around her. All Arizona could do was stand there, completely lost in the stunning women in front of her.
Once the song was over, Callie pulled Arizona closer and whispered, "wanna get out of here?"
With Fast beating heart, Arizona nodded quickly, and Callie laughed loudly; she took her hand, threw some money on the table to cover the bill, and pulled her out of the bar.
As soon as they left the bar, Arizona pulled Callie to the ally, pushed her lightly to the wall, and captured her lips in a fierce and heated kiss while pressing her body against the Latina. She could smell the sweet wine Callie had been drinking. She could only focus on how soft Callie's lips felt against her mouth and how she was invading her senses. Her tongue penetrated Callie's slightly open mouth and what they felt next was nothing less than fireworks.
Callie's whole body tingled; the feel of Arizona's frame pressed against her own sent shivers down her spine. Arizona broke the kiss to look into Callie's eye, ensuring she was okay. Callie was more than OK and was not ready to end the kiss yet. she pulled her in, claiming her mouth again, hungry and intense. By the time Callie became aware of her hands, they had already slipped under Arizona's shirt, and the feel of her radiating skin and indentation of tight abs sent waves of arousal through her core.
Arizona's lips moved from Callie's and drifted down to her jawline, eliciting a moan from the brunette. The moan only encouraged Arizona as she started sucking the pulse point below Callie's ear. Arizona slid her good arm down to Callie's thighs; she hooked her palm behind Callie's knee, pulled her leg around her, and slid her leg in between Callie's
Callie's one hand was inside Arizona's shirt, and the other was entangled in her golden locks from where she was guiding her mouth on her body. From her neck to her cleavage and back to her lips.
Arizona decided to up her game and slid her other hand on Callie's breast when the sling around her neck made it impossible to move.
Groaning, she lifted her head from Callie's neck. "I hate this thing," she said, ripped the Velcro on the sling, removed it from her shoulder, and threw it on the ground. Callie's Doctor instinct wanted to protest against this action, but Arizona's lips back on hers removed all the coherent thoughts from her mind. Arizona's one hand was now on her back, and the other was on the hem of her jeans, fumbling with the button. Her shoulder was protesting a little because of the odd angle at which Arizona positioned her hand, but she chose to ignore it. She wanted to devour this woman in front of her in the sexiest way possible, and she was not going to let her bummed shoulder come in between.
The taste of Arizona's lips and the smell of her perfume made Callie dizzy. She was getting lost in the woman in front of her, getting consumed by the fire which was ignited between them. But it was still not enough; she wanted more, so she pushed Arizona off her, only to reverse the roll. She flipped them over, and it was now Arizona's back against the wall while Callie pressed her body on her. It was Callie's turn to ravish the blonde's body now. She popped open a few of Arizona's shirt buttons, revealing the bra-clad mounds. Callie's mouth watered at the site. Her Hand snaked around Arizona's body while her mouth slowly kissed and sucked at Arizona's newly revealed mounds.
"Callie," Arizona breathed out, igniting another fire in Callie's core. She moved her left hand down to the Arizona jeans button, and with the right, she entwined her fingers with Arizona's left hand and pulled it to pin it to the wall above Arizona's head.
"Ahh... Shit!" Arizona screamed in pain, pushing Callie slightly off of her.
"Oh my god!" Callie exclaimed, coming back to her senses. "I am so sorry, Arizona…."
She had forgotten about Arizona's shoulder injury in the throes of passion. Arizona was breathing hard to bear the pain radiating through her body.
Callie took Arizona's face between her palms. "Look at me… breathe through it… deep breaths," she said, acting out the breathing process for Arizona to follow.
It took Arizona several minutes to breathe through the pain. Calming herself down, she finally looked up at Callie, who looked pale as a ghost, but her hair was all messed up because of their intense make-out session, and her clothes were disheveled.
Arizona burst out laughing at Callie's expression and their current condition.
"Why are you laughing?" Callie asked confused
Arizona kept on laughing and gestured towards their clothes, making Callie laugh with her. "We do look pretty ridiculous right now."
"You think?" Arizona said, still chuckling, "I guess… it's good that we stopped"
"Really?" Callie asked little hurt.
"No… not like that, Callie," Arizona said, taking Callie's hand in hers. "It's just… I don't want our first time in a dark ally next to the bar, which I noticed now… smells like urine."
Callie scrunched her nose. "I guess you are right." She said, looking around her. She picked up the sling, left discarded, and wrapped it around Arizona's neck.
"Don't take your arm out of the sling," Callie said firmly.
"Or else you will try to break it again like you just did," Arizona teased.
Callie bowed her head in embarrassment. "I am so sorry… I should have known better," she said sadly.
"Hey… I am just teasing," Arizona said, hooking her hand below her chin and lifting her face to meet her eyes. "It's not like I did anything to stop it… when it comes to you, I have no control."
"Feeling is mutual… Agent Robbins," Callie said with a smirk
"God! it sounds so sexy the way you say, Agent Robbins." Arizona groaned and moved closer to Capture Callie's lips again, but Callie put her hand between them to stop.
"If you come any closer, I don't think I will be able to control it again," Callie said breathlessly, "and keeping the recent situation in mind, I think we need to wait for your hand to get better."
"Arrgghh… you are right," Arizona pout "so, the third date it is then?"
"Third Date it is."
"Tomorrow?" Arizona said, grinning brightly, making Callie laugh out loud.
"Patience Agent Robbins," She said, patting Arizona's face, "First, get your shoulder fixed because…" she lowered her voice to many octaves for the following lines, "when I get you under me…. I need you in your full strength and form."
Arizona's mouth went dry "you…" she cleared her throat, "you don't play fair, Dr. Torres."
"I was never a good girl… Agent Robbins," Callie said with a wink.
…
In the next few weeks, Arizona's shoulder had healed completely, and the cast around her ankle was removed. While Alex was on desk duty, Arizona returned to work with Jo and Keith. His hand was healed, but the PT was still going on, and he was not allowed on the field. There was no new update on the case. The administrative claim on the FBI was kicking their asses; they were not able to find anything which could prove that their raid was not unnecessary, and the only way left was to bring Arizona's informer in, which she was refusing completely.
Between Callie's upcoming exams and Arizona's workload, they didn't get the time to arrange the date, so by the time of their third day, it had been over a month since they started dating. All they can think about is to continue where they left their last date.
After the dinner of their third date, Arizona was at Callie's apartment, sitting on their couch with an open shirt and half-naked Callie straddling her.
"I think we should take it to the bedroom," Callie said, breathing heavily while Arizona sucked on her neck.
"Mmhmm," Arizona mumbled and picked Callie in the same position they were in. Standing up, she moved towards her bedroom.
Just when they crossed the threshold of Callie's bedroom, her pager blared from somewhere.
"No, no, no, no…." Callie whined, "I am not all call."
"Just ignore it," Arizona said, taking Callie's bra-covered breast in her mouth, effectively subsiding any protest from Callie, not that she was going to. But the pager beeped again, making them groan in frustration.
"Argghh," Callie said, "let me just check what it is."
"Fine!" Arizona said, putting Callie down. "Hurry up," she said, smacking Callie's ass as she ran to check her pager.
"911…. Shit," Callie cursed, and after a quick call to Cristina, she came to know about some accident, and it was all hand on deck.
"I need to go," Callie said, coming back into the room, and when she saw half-naked Arizona lying on her bed, she cursed herself for being a doctor.
"What?" Arizona sat up. "Seriously?"
"Yeah… there was a big accident, and they need all the doctors," Callie said with a pout. Not even tons of broken bones were making her happy.
Arizona hunged her head in disappointment. "Ok…" she shrugged
"I am sorry…." Callie said sadly,
"Hey, it's okay… some other time."
"When" Callie whined again, making Arizona Laugh
"I guess the fourth date it is then."
"Forth date it is," Callie mumbled.
…
Sometimes the universe conspires against you; that's what it started to feel like to Callie. They have been on their fourth AND fifth date, but whenever they start anything remotely sexual, something interrupts them.
Once, they were caught in a very embarrassing situation by Cristina, whom Callie forgot to tell to stay at Meredith. They were on the couch with Arizona lying on top of topless Callie with one hand on Callie's breast and another one busy opening her jeans. Another time it was Mark who came barging into their house and Callie's bedroom, unaware that Arizona was there. Luckily, he didn't see anything as they were at the initial stage of their sex capade. After Marks's interruption, Arizona was not in the mood to continue, and she left after a while. And recently, their date was canceled when Arizona was called for an emergency.
So, Callie was sitting at the lunch table moping while stabbing the salad she ordered. Mark came galloping and plopped down in from of Callie.
"What's up, Torres?"
"Nothing"
"Woah, who got your panties in a twist, Cal?"
"What do you want, Mark" Callie snapped.
"Chill, dude! All I want to know is why so sad and mopey?"
"I am not mopey or sad."
"You sure do look like it… Robbins not good in the sack?" Mark said teasingly
Callie shot a glare at him, which effectively quieted him down. "I wouldn't know," she mumbled.
"WHAT!" Mark exclaimed loudly, "you haven't done the deed yet?"
"No! Every time we are about to… something comes up," Callie whined, "we have been to five dates, Mark FIVE…."
"Oops!"
"We get all hot and bothered by our foreplay, and when we proceed to the best part…bam! Interruption," Callie said, getting frustrated. "Even the thought of kissing her makes me…ahem."
"Come to Callie… just by kissing? Nobody is that good," Mark countered, ignoring everything else.
"Believe me, mark; she is THAT good"
"Do you think she will teach me?" Mark replied, bouncing his eyebrows in a teasing manner.
"I will skin you… alive," Callie sneered.
"ohkay, ohkay… No teasing… I promise," Mark said, lifting her hand in defeat. "But you need to get laid, Torres…."
"I do… I really do."
"And it's not gonna happen if you both keep waiting for the perfect time… just go at it."
"Go at it? When? Where?" Callie asked, throwing her hand in the air
"Where is she now… on duty?"
"No, she is at her house."
"SO? Go…now," Mark said in a matter-of-fact tone.
"I am on Call Genius!" she said, rolling her eyes.
"I'll cover your shift… you have what?... 4 hours left on your shift? Mark asked, and Callie nodded. "I cover that… you go."
"Wait? Seriously?" Callie said, getting excited.
"Yeah, go run…." Mark replied, "but you owe me."
"Yes… sure... thank you."
"As a payment, I need all the details tomorrow."
"Okay…whatever," Callie said, standing up.
"Thank you, Mark… I love you," and with that, she ran to get change.
…
She parked on the street of Arizona's house, and with determined steps, Callie walked towards Arizona's door. She was feeling a little nervous about this. She was unsure how Arizona would react. Is she coming too strong? Or desperate? Lost in her thoughts, she walked towards the door and failed to notice two women standing there. It wasn't until Arizona's voice captured her attention.
"Callie? what are you doing here," Arizona asked, shocked
Noticing a tall, green-eyed brunette standing too close to Arizona for Callie's liking, she said, "Well…I… Ummm…I… I came to talk to you, but I guess you are busy,"
"Oh… no…Yeah… well… this is… umm… this is…." Arizona stuttered, visibly uncomfortable in the present situation.
"Hi, I am Eliza Minnick" The brunette interrupted Arizona and extended her hand toward Callie.
"Hi…. I am… Dr. Callie Torres," Callie replied, smiling, taking the hand
"oh… so you are the woman sleeping with my fiancé?" Elijah said, still shaking Callie's hand
