"Will you?"

Callie took some time to think, but Arizona felt like the walls around her closed in with every passing second.

"Please say something," Arizona whispered pleadingly.

"I need some time to think, Arizona," Callie replied, and Arizona nodded sadly.

Callie's heart melted at the look on Arizona's face. She grabbed her hand and urged her to look at her. "I am not saying no… I want to give us time… both of us," she maintained eye contact. "It would have been another thing if she was just your past… but she is not… she is not just your past now… she was your first love… you loved her enough to want to marry her… those feeling doesn't just go away.
On top of that, she is back and wants to reconcile. I understand you are hurt and angry right now, but maybe after a few days, you will cool down and realize your love for her. So, I want you to take time, cool off, and decide. It will be good for both of us."

"But…" Arizona tried to interject.

"Please, Arizona… Believe me; we need this time, else I will always doubt that you might have feelings for her… this way, I'll know that we are not acting on Your recent feelings alone." Callie requested.

All Arizona wanted was to hug Callie and never let go, she felt heavy in her heart, but instead of saying anything, she respected Callie's wishes and nodded quietly.

Callie felt her heart sink seeing Arizona's sad face; she grabbed her face between her palms and gently tugged her to look into her eyes. "Hey, just for a few days, take your time… think this through, and decide…. Please?"

Arizona nodded with a sad smile. "Okay."

The next day Callie was talking to the nurse about her recent patient when a tall, green-eyed brunette came to her and tapped her on the shoulder. The moment Callie looked at the woman, her smile vanished.

"Calliope… If I remember correctly?" Eliza said smugly.

The bluntness of Eliza took Callie aback; she took a deep breath and responded with as much smugness as she could muster. "Callie," she said, rolling her eyes, "and you are….Mimick or something… right?"

"Minnick!" Eliza replied with clenched teeth.

"Oh right…. How can I help you?" Callie replied, trying to hide her irritation. She wasn't sure why exactly she didn't like the woman in front of her; maybe because she was Arizona's ex, because she had this condescending tone in her voice, or perhaps because she was here to try and win Arizona back, maybe it was all of the above. The bottom line was that Callie didn't like this woman one bit.

"No, you can't help me, but you can help yourself by backing off," Eliza said firmly.

"Excuse me?" Callie was taken aback

"Yes! Back off…. Arizona is mine… she has always been mine… she is a little angry right now, but we have been together for four years; your few months with her are nothing. She has always loved me and has come back to me. So, it's better you stay away from her."

Callie closed her chart with a smash and turned to look at Eliza, "Have her!"

Eliza was taken aback this time; she came here expecting a fight or at least a heated argument, but not this. Nevertheless, she felt glad Callie had let go of Arizona so quickly.

She smirked and looked at Callie up and down "you give up easily," she said. "Good for you; you can't fight me; I always win."

Callie scoffed. "You are getting me wrong; it's not like I can't fight you… I don't want to waste my time on you."

Eliza raised her eyebrow, challenging Callie, "Listen, I know she is great in bed, but you had your fun, and it's over, and it's better you get over her too… save yourself a heartbreak."

Callie shifted uncomfortably on her feet, and the change in her expression didn't go unnoticed by Eliza. "You have not even slept together?" she gave a maniacal laugh " Are you sure she even like you?" and kept laughing.

Callie was getting furious and humiliated, making her even angrier. She clenched her teeth to control her anger and said after a deep breath, "Look, If Arizona wants to be with you, you can have her… I am not going to fight for someone who is in love with somebody else, and if she doesn't want to be with you, then there is no fight, to begin with," Callie said with a shrug.

Eliza had no answer; she gaped at Callie briefly and huffed a little. "There is no second option, she was always mine, and she will be."

"Okay," Callie shrugged again and turned to leave, leaving confused and frustrated Eliza alone.

"Torres!" Mark, who has been listening to this drama from the beginning, ran to catch up with Callie.

Callie turned to look at Mark; she had some unshed tears, which she quickly wiped away. "Yes, Mark," She said.

"What was all that about?" Mark asked, "I thought you clarified everything with Robbins yesterday…."

"I did," Callie replied.

"So what was this?"

"I told her that she and I need time to think this through."

"What? Time for what?" Mark said, throwing his hand up, "You like her, and she likes you; what time are you talking about, and why did you tell that woman that she can have Arizona?"

Callie took a deep breath, took Mark's hand, and dragged him to the nearest on-call room because people had started to look at them.

"I told her that she can have Arizona IF Arizona wants to be with her," Callie replied.

"But Why?" Marks asked loudly, "What did you two talk about yesterday?"

Callie went on to tell him the whole story, and by the end, Mark was confused about whether Callie did the right thing.

Seeing Mark quiet, Callie asked, "Would you like to say something?"

Mark went to sit on the cot and took a few seconds before speaking, " I understand your point, Torres, but I Still feel that you should have at least put up the fight with that woman."

"Why? It has nothing to do with which one of us wants to be with Arizona; it is up to Arizona to make her choice. There is no point in fighting." Callie justified.

Mark nodded "yup, yup… I hear you… but that woman was spiteful, which says a lot because I am not even considering how hot she was… so just for her attitude, you should have given her an old smackdown on her perfect cheekbones."

Callie laughed loudly "are you hating Eliza or drooling over her?"

"Oh, I Hate her," Mark said with conviction "what I hate even more is that she is hot, and I can't hit on her."

"God, Mark… you are a Dog," Callie said, shaking her head.

"Meh..." Mark said with a shrug "so what are you going to do?"

"Nothing"

"Nothing?"

"Yup, nothing," Callie said calmly. "As I said, it's Arizona's decision, so I 'll wait for her to decide."

"But what if she chose her?"

"Then she chose her," Callie said meekly.

"What about you?" Mark asked sadly.

"What about me? I'll be fine."

Mark gave Callie a "seriously?" look.

"I mean, of course, it's going to hurt, but what can I do… if she doesn't choose me, I can't make her. I have more pride than that?"

Mark nodded slightly. "So we wait?"

"So… we wait."

"Come on, Zo, it's only three weeks more; cheer up," Timothy Robbins said over skype.

"You said last time that it was only two weeks more," Arizona whined, "now another three weeks?"

"What can I do? You know how it works?" Tim replied lovingly. "I'll be back before you know it?"

"Yeah, I know how it works, but at that time, I used to be the one delivering the news, not receiving it," Arizona said with a pout, " But I do understand," She said with a forced smile. " I get it, and I'll be waiting."

"That's like my sweet sister," Tim said cheerfully " SO tell me, what new?"

"Well… Eliza came back."

"WHAT?! What for?" Tim exclaimed loudly

Arizona told him the whole story, by the end of which Tim could only ask, "Woah!... So what are you going to do?"

"There is nothing to do… there is only one choice."

"Are you sure… you wanna choose her?" Tim asked.

"Yes, I am sure."

It's been a week since Callie heard anything from Arizona, even though she never said anything to anyone, but inside, this wait was killing her. Her mood was at an all-time low, and even the tons of broken bones couldn't make her happy.

Mark could see that all this was profoundly affecting her best friend, but he couldn't say or do anything because Callie was adamant about not making the call or even discussing this. So, all he could do was watch her suffer.

"Nothing is good in this canteen," Callie said, stabbing the salad "everything tastes like shit."

"Orrrr may, be everything is fine, but your mood is just shit," Mark whispered.

"What?" Callie said, glaring at Mark.

"Nothing," Mark said defensively.

"I thought so," Callie replied, jamming the fork into the cherry tomato, making the juice squirt out.

Mark holds Callie's wrist, making her look at him. "Call her"

"I am not going to call her Mark… stop suggesting that…it's been a week… she obviously had made her choice," Callie said sadly.

"How would you know if you don't ask her?"

"I am NOT going to ask her anything… she was supposed to make a choice… if she had chosen me, she would have called… she didn't… I got the message." Callie replied.

"You are being ridiculous," Mark replied.

"Whatever, Mark"

"Talk to her."

"No, I am not… It's a done deal… in fact, I have a date tonight… I am moving on."

"What the hell, Torres?"

"Yes, and your response can only be hella supportive or none at all."

"But.."

"Uh-Ah… what did I say?"

"Fine… Have a nice evening," Mark said with clenched teeth.

"Good! Thank you," and with that, Callie left.

It was 6-ish in the evening when Callie sat across the most boring man she had ever met. This was some guy named Dan, who was a police officer and whose femur Callie repaired. After the treatment, he asked Callie out, and here they were sitting in a restaurant where Dan was going on about his airplane model collection, and Callie was regretting the moment she said yes to him. She was sitting there, trying to stifle the 15th yawn of the evening while trying to look interested in something called Fuselage.

She might have given Dan a chance at any other time, but she knew what was out there. She had dated what was out there, and now all she could do was think about her first date with her.

After what felt like forever, Callie said goodbye to Dan with a polite "Thank you for the evening.". Once she left the restaurant, she immediately messaged Mark and asked him to come to Joe's. Mark was in surgery and told her he would be there in 40 minutes.

She was ready to unwind by getting super drunk and making fun of Dan and maybe bitch about Eliza a little. With this last thought, a small smile appeared on her face, but it was short-lived because her biggest fear got confirmed right in front of her.

As Callie looked towards the bar entrance, she saw Arizona… embracing Eliza.
