(Here's the next and second part of the beginning of this new part to the Pokémon saga. This one shall actually be longer than the first part and hopefully present Dakota as a unique hero in the world of Pokémon. It's also a dedication to the inspiration to Alola, Hawaii, and its indigenous people and all the people of the Polynesian family in reality. (You'll see what I mean, I hope I really showed respect for them.) I hope you all enjoy it!)

H R C Stanley: I have been told that helps differentiate text from action effectively, though I can't remember the exact details of the explanation. I have also been told to do the speech then marking who says it is repetitive and thus is unneeded in creative writing.

Nobel Six: I'm truly grateful that you've joined me to do this. I hope so.

Episode 2: An Alolan Stand

(Pallet Town, Mahina Home, a few hours later)

Dakota laid in his bed, staring up at the ceiling. He found he couldn't sleep. The decision on which starter Pokémon he would choose tomorrow still weighed heavily on his mind. Each of them had respectable strengths, skills, and potential when it came to battling and leading teams alongside their trainers.

Charmander took more time to effectively train than others, however, its passion and strength couldn't be underestimated as they've been shown to become some of the most powerful Pokémon in the world as experienced and skilled Charizards that can hold their own against any enemy. Squirtle had the capacity for the best defensive tactics of the three while having a powerful development in attack strength especially when they became a Blastoise. Bulbasaur were very loyal and care deeply for their friends, having arguably a well rounded potential as they become incredibly strong and capable of various battle skills while also encouraging friends and allies in their potential and day to day life.

It wasn't any easy choice, it never had been for Dakota. There was also the matter of not wanting to seem like he didn't care about the other two that he didn't choose. He didn't want to seem like he didn't respect them. While he'd heard others in town say they already knew who they were going to choose before they even became trainers, Dakota was never certain. He could see possibilities for all three. Still, he felt bad though for the starters that would be chosen by the other boys, the bullies.

He didn't know which they'd choose, unlike their friends, they'd kept quiet about which Pokémon they would pick as their starter. This worried Dakota, he suspected they'd try to pull something cruel or deceptive. They'd boasted to their buddies that they'd been able to pull the wool over their victim's eyes before. Though this hadn't happened for some time, Dakota could now sometimes sense what they'd pull given all the times they'd harassed him in the past. By the time he'd fallen asleep, Dakota still was unclear on who he'd choose.

(Mahina House, the next day)

Dakota woke up from his sleep. His eyes went to the ceiling though his mind exploded with anxious thoughts and scenarios. He turned to his clock, he wasn't late as he registered the time. Still, part of him feared what might occur.

"Dakota! Breakfast!"

Despite his mom's cheerful voice, he felt as if he couldn't get out of bed. His stomach was in knots and his hands trembled at what the day would hold. He was terrified. Despite his excitement for this day, he felt doubt gnaw at his mind and heart.

His room door opened and in walked Leia and Incineroar.

"Incin?"

"Nervous, sweetie?"

"T-Terrified."

Leia sighed, a warm smile on her face. She placed her hands on one of his.

"You don't have to go through with this if you don't want to. There's no shame in it."

"I-I still want to…but-"

"-fear is nothing to be ashamed of. It's just a part of life."

"B-But what if I fail?"

"I'm sure you will fail, at times. That's how people learn and grow. I know you're hard headed with this, it's just sometimes it's ok to feel uncertain. Because when you feel your resolve, finally as it should be, you feel unmoveable. That's how you become strong. Dakota, I've seen you stand your ground against those little brats. That strength is not only in your body, it's also in your spirit."

Dakota sighed and sat up. He looked up to his mom and hugged her.

"Thanks, mom."

Leia smiled and rested her head on his.

"Well, I was always good at getting others fired up."

"Cin?"

"Don't think you're excluded from this hug, buddy."

The fire type smiled then joined the hug.

(Outside of Professor Oak's lab, an hour later)

Dakota stood just outside of the lab, dressed in simple clothes. He'd decided he'd pick his starter before he'd leave, he wanted to say one extra see you later to his home and his family before setting out on his journey. He looked up at the lab, his voice trembling as he finally walked up to the lab and knocked on the door.

Professor Oak opened the door, greeting Dakota with a smile.

"Ah Dakota, finally the day has arrived."

"Y-Yeah."

"Nervous? It's ok, many are."

"I-Is anyone else here?"

"No, you're the first to arrive."

"Really?"

"Yup. After you choose, the Pokémon will want to give their best regards to you before you leave. Ash's Charizard will be going back to the Charicific Valley after today to return to the training there. I think he's decided that he needs to get back to it after a conversation with the guardian of the valley."

"Oh."

"Indeed. Now, follow me."

Dakota followed the professor into the lab. They walked past several people dressed in thick plain clothes that covered everything from the neck down. Each of them were working on equipment for what Dakota recognized for filming. Mics, lights, sound equipment, and more were laid out around the lab. The boy turned to the professor, he rubbed the back of his neck in embarrassment.

"They brought more than I would've thought. Still, they said they'd do a bit of recording of you picking your starter."

"What?!"

"It's merely a scenario footage of how Ash walked in to choose his Pokémon on his first day though with obvious differences."

Professor Oak walked into the same room where the starter Pokémon awaited, Dakota followed him in to be greeted by not only the Pokémon but also Gary and the two people that approached the professor yesterday about filming at the lab along with a few of their crew.

Dakota met the gaze of the lady again then turned away blushing. The man grinned at the woman who didn't show any visible response at this.

Professor Oak sighed as he brushed his coat, receiving a chuckle from his grandson.

"Nervous, grandpa?"

"You know I'm not always comfortable on camera."

"Just yanking your chain."

The woman turned to the professor after looking to her crew, who nodded, as they readied the equipment.

"We're ready, Professor."

"Very well."

The woman nodded to their crew.

"Action."

Professor Oak sighed as he turned to the camera.

"As is well known, the three Kanto starter Pokémon available for new trainers to choose as their first are: Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur. Now Ash Ketchum's first day was quite a unique one. He had shown up rather late to this lab, still hoping he'd make it in time to gain his Pokémon."

Gary nervously chuckled as he rubbed the back of his neck.

"I was here before Ash and when I left all the Pokémon had been picked. So Ash kinda came into a stressful situation."

"Yes, as all the Pokémon had been chosen and it appeared Ash would not be going on his journey."

Dakota turned his head, seeing the Rockruff from earlier having entered the room. He and the Pokémon greeted one another with a smile as the rock type wagged its tail. He then returned his gaze to the professor.

"Despite it appearing Ash wouldn't gain his first Pokémon, there was a surprise waiting for him. Pikachu was a recently new Pokémon I had acquired and after a rough start, they came to become inseparable friends. Now here though, all three Pokémon are available for a new trainer like young Dakota here to choose from. Well, who shall join you on your journey, Dakota?"

He smiled warmly at the boy. Dakota turned to all the Pokémon, who greeted him with warm smiles. Then he looked back to Rockruff, who smiled up at him.

"W-Well…I-I…"

"Get out of the way, loser!"

Dakota had heard them coming at the last minute, but the situation had taken his focus. He'd been pushed aside by three pairs of hands and knocked to the ground. The boy gritted his teeth as he looked up, it was Shane, Remy, and Ruckus. They had the startled starters in their hands. Ruckus held Squirtle, Remy held Bulbasaur, and Shane held Charmander. They grinned down at him, their ringleader spoke first.

"As if you'd become a trainer. You're too dull to become one, Dull Dakota."

Remy and Ruckus laughed. Ruckus then sneered down at him.

"You're not deserving of a Kanto starter. Go back to Alola where you can get one of those ugly ones."

Professor Oak's eyes widened at this as did Gary's. Remy followed up his friend's taunt.

"Besides, it's not like you'd ever become a good trainer anyways. Let alone like Ash Ketchum or my personal hero, Jason Sorenson. He actually proved his strength and determination after his baseball injury, he showed that with real will and skill that you can become great. That's going to be me and my friends, not you. You'll see, loser, I'm gonna be the next Jason."

Dakota's hands clenched into fists, tears started to emerge. The bullies laughed at this. Suddenly the Rockruff leapt over to the fallen boy, standing in front of him and growled. The bullies laughed at this as well. Ruckus then started another taunt.

"A dirty Alolan Pokémon, just like Dirty Dakota. You're both pathe-"

"THAT'S ENOUGH!"

Everyone turned in the direction of the roar. Professor Oak stood over the boys, fuming. His nostrils flared and his face was bright red. Gary Oak stood beside him, glowering down at the boys. Professor Oak spoke first.

"You've tormented this poor boy for long enough! Dakota is more deserving of this journey than any of you three. I've had it with your cruel harassment of this boy who deserves your utmost respect."

Gary then towered over the boys, the look on his face made their grins disappear.

"I was like you kids way back when. If only I'd seen how much of a complete jerk I was earlier. Now all I can see is the same weakness in the three of you."

Shane then started to frown.

"Weak?! Why you-!"

Professor Oak drew his attention then.

"You three aren't fit to be trainers!"

He then took the Poké Balls of the starters and recalled them. The trio gasped and tried to respond only for the man to continue his admonishment of them.

"You three are coming with me! It's about time you were taught to show empathy for others!"

Professor Oak then started to drag the three boys out of the lab, his hands firmly around the collars of their shirts, as the bullies shouted and cried out at this. Gary Oak's widened at this then he chuckled.

"That's my grandfather."

He followed his grandfather.

The film duo turned to one another, the woman spoke first.

"Well, it seems everything is ready if what the professor said is true."

"Alright, let's get the rest of this done then. It's about time we get to do this."

Dakota was about to ask them something, but the group went to follow the professor outside with all their gear and crew.

The boy sat down on the floor, tears falling down his face.

"Those jerks…I should've known something like this would've happened. They waited until the professor told me to choose, then they humiliated me on camera!"

He slammed one fist onto the floor.

"Maybe it's a sign that I don't deserve to be a trainer…maybe my dad was right."

"...Ruff?..."

Dakota looked back at the rock type. Rockruff looked up at him then walked to stand closer to him. The rock type then began gently rubbing its head against him. The boy's eyes widened a little at this. He then rested a hand on the Pokémon's head and petted it. Rockruff looked up at him and was greeted by a tearful smile.

"Thank you, Rockruff."

"Ruff!"

Rockruff's tail wagged quickly at this as it rubbed up against the boy faster than before. Dakota laughed a little as the rock type barked. As he looked at Rockruff, his eyes widened for a moment as a thought came to him. He was quiet as he contemplated this. Rockruff's head cocked to the side at this. Then its ears perked and then quickly jumped in the direction of where the people had left.

"Ruff! Ruff!"

Rockruff was growling. This made Dakota turn in its direction. Before he could even mutter a word, the sounds and sensations of explosions and tremors were heard along with shouts of both people and Pokémon. Dakota turned back to Rockruff, then both nodded to one another.

(Professor Oak's Ranch, a few moments later)

Dakota and Rockruff rushed outside. Their eyes widened at seeing Professor Oak, Gary, Shane, Remy, Ruckus, and several Pokémon on the ground either ensnared in metal bindings, seemingly silk wrappings, or locked in cages. They gasped as they rushed over to them. Dakota took hold of the professor's shoulders in either hand.

"Professor! What's wrong?!"

"D-Dakota? N-No…run! Run!"

Dakota and Rockruff were knocked away by star projectiles. They both grunted as they got up then turned to see the film crew grinning at them..

"W-What? You guys? What're you-?!"

Dakota then saw it. His eyes locked on them, their jackets had been unzipped to reveal a single letter, the same letter, on each of their shirts: a big red R. His eyes widened then narrowed.

"It's you!"

The man with the blonde hair smirked.

"That's right you little twerp."

He and the woman tore off their disguises, revealing their actual selves. The man stood in a cut grayish white jacket cut halfway down his muscular torso with long gray pants, a blue shirt, and a black band around each arm and had shades on, his blonde hair now took a more spikey and unkept shape. The jacket had the big red R was cut into halves, one on either side of the jacket.

The woman had the same kind of jacket though it was zipped up to reveal the big red R plainly, she also had her counterpart's blue shirt (though hers was a long sleeve) and long gray pants along with the same dark pair of shoes. Her hair now stook out or was laid out in various parts, spiky edges on either side on the top of her head along with a bit of almost a spiky tail behind her head with a long stretch of hair on either side of her head. Her cold blue eyes then narrowed on the boy and she smirked as she spoke first.

"Stupid boy, no one sees Team Rocket coming."

"Until it's too late."

Multiple Ariados leapt around and landed beside the different Team Rocket members, some of whom held Poké Balls that had opened already to let the bug types out. Others called out Hypnos and Primeapes that took their places by the gang. Around them were large metal cylinders with dishes atop them with electrical fields surrounding the dishes.

Dakota gritted his teeth as Rockruff growled.

"...Team Rocket…"

The woman scoffed as she smirked.

"Correct, twerp. You're as dull as those other brats said."

"Come on now, Hun. Don't be so cruel to your little admirer."

Hun slammed an elbow into the man's chest. He gasped and grunted at the hit then he turned back to his partner, smirking.

"Very funny, Attila."

Hun looked back at Dakota, who had tears flowing down his face as he snarled at them. She scoffed again.

"He's just a brat who doesn't know how things work. I didn't even try to trick him into his stupid little crush."

"Hun…and Attila?"

Attila chuckled.

"That's right, kid."

"So what? You just came here to steal all the Pokémon?! And humiliate the people here?!"

"Normally we'd leave this mundane theft to the grunts. The two of us have our sights set on capturing the most rare and legendary Pokémon."

"However, when we got the call to capture the now World Champ's Pokémon he's collected and trained over the years…well, that was quite the interesting opportunity."

"So you sneak attacked the Professor, his grandson, and all the Pokémon here."

"They might not be the trainers the champ is, but we've seen and heard they're threats. Unlike you."

"So what now?"

"Now?"

Hun chuckled.

"Now we let our legends start to be known."

Attila turned to the Team Rocket members with them and nodded. A couple pulled out some kind of devices while others picked up the film equipment.

"Make us live around the world!"

Dakota's eyes widened.

"What?"

Attila turned back to him.

"We're going to broadcast our conquest live on every electronic device around the world. Our team is hacking their way into news broadcasts and news alerts as we speak. The champion and the world will see that the two of us and Team Rocket will reclaim and heighten our status to be feared and respected."

"And you were too cowardly to do it with someone to challenge you."

Attila glowered at the boy.

"Why you-!"

"Pay him no mind, Attila."

Hun nodded in the direction of their crew, who nodded to them and started counting down with their fingers.

"Let's stake our claim."

(Across the World, moments later)

Screens on televisions, phones, tablets, and various electronic devices shifted from what they were showing to the devices' owners to a sight no one expected to see. Members of Team Rocket stood at Professor Oak's ranch with the professor and his grandson immobilized along with a boy and a Rockruff a few yards away from them on the ground. The woman stood to her full height and spoke.

"People of the world! We are Team Rocket! For too long our organization has been laughed at, ridiculed, and discarded! Through the failures of weak and incompetent members of our organization, our once rightful stance as a cabal to be feared and respected was cast aside by the actions of weak little trainers who foiled our plans. We come to show you that we have regrouped and renewed our goals of conquest and power. Here you see in the hometown of the current world champion, Ash Ketchum, that many of his Pokémon now find themselves at our mercy."

The screen moved to show many of Ash's Pokémon restrained in cages: his Corphish, Swellow, Gible, Buizel, Pignite, Hawlucha, Bayleef, Donphan, Quilava, etc. Team Rocket's Pokémon stood around and over them, the human members standing proud and grinning around the ranch. The sights of other Pokémon of Team Rocket's could be seen surrounding the ranch along with other human members.

The screen returned to the duo, the man now spoke.

"We have Professor Oak's lab and ranch locked down tight, there's no way anyone gets in or out. Any and all threats have been neutralized and you will soon see us capture more of the Pokémon here as a display of our power."

(Kanto, Cerulean City)

A man with dark hair in traveling gear and a young woman with orange hair in a single tail to the side stood and watched in shock and horror at the sight.

(Kalos, Lumiose City)

Two siblings, both blonde, watched with the same expression. They exchanged this with one another before returning their gazes to the screen.

(Hoenn, Petalburg City)

Two young women, one with brown hair and the other with dark blue hair and the former with a Blaziken by her side and the other with a Piplup, all stood and watched with both hate and fear.

(Kalos, Vaniville Town)

A young man and woman watched with disbelief and rage at the sight. The young man had his Pokémon standing on his shoulder, glaring at the screen, the young woman had hers standing beside her as they hugged.

(Kanto, outside of Lavender Town)

A young man rushed into a clearing where Jason Sorenson was quickly packing up belongings into his bag. A look of resolve and anger was clear on his face.

"M-Mr. Sorenson! Have you seen-?!"

"I saw! I'm headed to Pallet Town now!"

"What?! But they have the place surrounded! You'll need help!"

"There's no time, besides all I need is my team. I know the Professor and his grandson, they're friends. I won't leave them there without help!"

"But-!"

"Sorry, I've gotta go!"

He then took out a Poké Ball, from it a Pokémon with straight wings hovered in the air. The young man who came to Jason stood wide eyed at the sight of the Pokémon.

"You have a-?!"

Jason climbed onto his Pokémon.

"To Pallet Town!"

They then took off, disappearing into the sky.

(Professor Oak's Ranch, present)

Hun and Attila grinned at the camera, the former spoke first.

"Remember to fear and respect Team Rocket! Remember our names, the ones who led this mission! Hun!"

Attila chuckled, crossing his arms.

"Attila!"

Dakota growled as he started to stand up.

"The only thing they'll see you for is cowards!"

The duo's smirks twisted into frowns and turned back to the boy. Hun sneered.

"Impudent brat."

"You little punk, don't take our moment away from us!"

"You think anyone should stand here and not at the very least speak out against you for this cowardice and cruelty!"

Hun frowned.

"Watch your mouth you twerp!"

"No! Even though I'm not Ash Ketchum or Gary Oak or any of the other great trainers, I won't just stand by and let you do this!"

Hun and Attila laughed, before the former spoke.

"You?! You don't have any Pokémon, even if you did they wouldn't even be near strong enough to even try to threaten us."

"You're all alone, Alola boy."

Hun and Attila threw out two Poké Balls each. Hun called out her Steelix and also a Sandslash while Attila called out his Skarmory and Muk.

Rockruff growled as it took a defensive stance. Attila scoffed.

"Skarmory, use Swift, Muk use Sludge Bomb! Target that little weak rock Pokémon!."

Professor Oak and Gary's eyes widened at this.

"No!"

Skarmory and Muk fired their respective attacks at Rockruff. The Sandslash flinched at this, seeing the attacks unleashed.

Rockruff's eyes widened a little at this then narrowed as it growled. It prepared to counterattack, only to find someone jumping in front of him. Everyone both present at the ranch and watching it across the world watched with wide eyes as Dakota leapt in front of Rockruff, his arms crossed in an x shape in front of him.

"RUFF!"

Professor Oak and Gary gasped at this, a cloud kicked up from the Pokémon's attacks. Even Hun and Attila stood wide eyed at this.

(Kanto, Cerulean City)

The man and woman shared an expression of terror and concern.

(Kalos, Lumiose City)

The blonde siblings were silent, eyes wide at this sight. The girl hung onto her brother who held her tight.

(Hoenn, Petalburg City)

The two young women watched with fear, their hands covering their mouths. Their Pokémon held them.

(Kalos, Vaniville Town)

The young man stood up, his eyes wide with shock and worry. His Pokémon's ears had dropped as it watched. The young woman had tears welling up, her Pokémon's ears also had dropped at the sight.

(Kanto, Professor Oak's Ranch)

The cloud still moved around before them, no one could see through it. Hun and Attila turned back to the camera, the former spoke first.

"You see now?! Team Rocket is through with the disrespect and laughter! No one will stand in our way!"

"This is just a taste of our revenge! You'll see! We're-"

Their triumphant grins shifted to confusion at the sight of their human allies, whose eyes were wide. One spoke up.

"G-Guys…look."

Hun and Attila turned back in the direction of the boy they thought had been dealt with by Attila's Pokémon's attacks. The cloud receded and what they saw made their eyes widen in disbelief.

Dakota was still standing, his arms still crossed. His shirt and pants had been torn and shredded by the attacks. There was barely anything of his shirt left and his pants had been ripped into shredded shorts. The boy grunted as his body rose and receded as he breathed in and out.

The bullies watched, eyes wide with utter disbelief. They refused to see what was right in front of them. Shane shook his head, his smirk gone.

"I-It can't be."

(Kanto, Cerulean City)

The man and woman shared a look of disbelief, the sight of the boy still standing causing a familiar feeling within them.

(Kalos, Lumiose City)

The brother rubbed his eyes as he watched, checking to see if the boy was still standing. The sister's eyes were wide, still processing what she was seeing.

(Hoenn, Petalburg City)

The two young women's eyes shook at the sight of the boy standing his ground, their Pokémon's jaws having dropped beside them.

(Kalos, Vaniville Town)

The young man and his Pokémon smiled at the sight, grinning with excitement at what they awaited to see unfold. The young woman cried tears of joy, her Pokémon jumping up and down as it smiled.

(Kanto, Pallet Town, Professor Oak's Ranch)

Dakota snarled as he moved his arms to his sides, his burning gaze locked on Team Rocket. Hun and Attila even flinched for a moment at the look on the boy's face. Dakota gritted his teeth, his canine teeth taking prominent appearance.

"You're not gonna hurt any more people or Pokémon while I'm here!"

"Ruff!"

Rockruff growled as he leapt to the boy's side, eyes locked on Team Rocket's Pokémon. Hun and Attila's looks of shock shifted back into anger though there was signs of sweat on their foreheads. Hun spoke first.

"T-This proves nothing! Steelix! Sandslash!"

"Skarmory! Muk!"

All the Pokémon except Sandslash took fighting stances immediately. Sandslash turned back to Hun, who narrowed her eyes at it.

"Sandslash! Get ready! Now!"

"Sand…slash."

The ground type took its position after a few moments.

"Ruff! Ruff!"

Dakota looked down at Rockruff then he said something that none of the Team Rocket members heard. The rock type grunted, eyes wide with concern at Dakota. The boy then said something again. Rockruff whimpered a little then looked from Team Rocket to him then ran off.

Hun and Attila's anger disappeared at this surprise. Then they laughed before the latter spoke.

"Your little emotional support mutt just ran off! You really have no friends here!"

Hun, Attila, their Steelix, Skarmory, and Muk laughed. The Sandslash looked back at them then looked back at the boy with what Dakota thought might be pity. Professor Oak and Gary looked at Dakota, anger and fear on their faces. Professor Oak gasped as he spoke.

"Dakota! Run!"

"Get out of here, kid! There's too many!"

Attila chuckled, checking to see if the camera was still rolling. He turned back after confirming this and smirked at Dakota.

"You're finished, twerp."

Hun grinned.

"Anything else you gotta say before we finish our work here?"

Dakota closed his eyes remembering the words of what his mother had said about Alolan tradition and history, about what their ancestors did in times of adversity. He inhaled then exhaled and opened his eyes. What they did, even when physically by themselves, their people were there in spirit. Dakota's eyes narrowed on Team Rocket.

"Yes."

Team Rocket watched, smirking, not realizing what was about to happen. Dakota glowered at them as he stood to his full height.

"MOKOMOKO!"

He let out a shout as he took a wide stance, arms out to either side of him. His shirt fell off him, revealing his surprising muscular build. Team Rocket stopped laughing at the look of sheer ferocity on his faces as well as the tense and prominent muscles that had cuts and bruises. Dakota's teeth gritted into a vicious snarl, his eyes narrowed with fury as he glared at Team Rocket.

(Alola)

Many people gathered around a television, watching in disbelief at what was being recorded. One man, an older man with a gray thick mustache and hair, stood amongst them. He recognized what the boy was starting.

"The Kū i luna…He's doing the Kū i luna."

(Kanto, Professor Oak's Ranch)

Dakota stood his ground, his hands clenched near totally into fists at either side of him. He was ready.

"KAENA!...PA!"

He then took a step, moving his body in a diagonal direction towards Team Rocket and chanted as he beat his chest with both fists then lifted them into the air then pulled them down and motioned them around one another then lifted them into the air again, his fists level with his head though his visage of fierce intensity was locked on Team Rocket.

"EIA MAKOU NA PUALI KOA O ALOLA!"

He then moved with his other foot, taking a position like he had done at the start. Then he slammed his hands against his chest. Then he continued to chant as he raised his hands up, fixed in an almost claw like shape as the palms were shown to Team Rocket, then lowered them then crossed them across his face then lowered them to either side of him.

"PULU PE I KA UA KOKO TUAHINE!"

Dakota then stood up straight quickly, chanting as he raised his right arm up at the elbow as his fist faced the sky and his left arm locked onto his right.

"PALI PU O LANAKILA!"

Then Dakota took another diagonal partially crouched stance, still chanting as he then shot his right fist forward in a punch then moved his left hand over his right arm above the elbow.

"KA SA MANAMANA!"

Hun and Attila stood speechless, unsure of what they were seeing. But before they could speak, Dakota continued.

"O KE AU I KA HULI!"

Then quickly took his first stance again as he chanted as he also slapped his thighs with either hand hard resulting in the sound of flesh hitting flesh before he started taking small steps in place and moved his hands in front of him then crossed them slowly to either side of him.

"WELA KA HONUA!"

As he continued to take his steps, he continued his chant.

"O KE AU I KA HULI!"

Then he struck his chest with his fists then lifted them just above his head then slowly pulled them apart as he still chanted.

"LOLE KA LANI!"

Dakota held his ferocious gaze on Team Rocket as he held his fists up to either side of him as he continued to step into place and continued to chant.

"HE LUA'I AI LA!"

Dakota then struck his chest with both fists and took a step forward with one foot as he continued to chant and slashed his hands in the air before stopping this motion, his claw shaped hands aimed at Team Rocket.

"HUA'INA KA WA'A KAUA!"

Dakota didn't stop here though.

"E KU MEHE KU!"

He then threw one punch forward as he continued to chant, smacking this arm with the other hand then reversed this action with the other hand punching and the former hand smacking that arm.

"E KU! E KU!"

He then slammed his hands against his chest as he chanted then thrust his hands out in the same clawed shape at Team Rocket.

"E KU NUI A KEA!"

Then he repeated the previous actions of punching and smacking his arms as he chanted.

"E KU! E KU!"

Dakota then slammed his fists against his chest as he continued the chant then raised his fists up to either side of himself.

"E KU LANAKILA!"

He then repeated the actions of punching and hitting his arms as he chanted.

"E KU! E KU!"

He then struck his chest again then raised his hands in the claw shape and moved them quickly in front and across either side of his face as he chanted.

"KULILI'KAUA!"

He then repeated the punching and hitting his arms as he chanted.

"E KU! E KU!"

Hun and Attila stood, wide eyed at this before both shook off the feeling that refused to consider uncertainty let alone fear. Attila glowered at the boy.

"S-Skarmory! Muk! Swift! Sludge Bomb, now!"

The Pokémon fired their attacks, striking Dakota and resulting in another cloud of smoke. Eventually it receded, revealing Dakota having covered his face with his crossed arms again. More cuts and bruises were on him and he started to visibly shake, but he pulled his arms to the side and stared daggers at his attackers. Team Rocket, human and Pokémon both, flinched at this. Attila's eyes shook at the sight though he stood with his teeth gritted.

"Who is this kid?!"

(Kalos, Vaniville Town)

The young man smirked as he answered.

"He's the kid who's gonna beat you."

(Kanto, Pallet Town, Professor Oak's Ranch)

Dakota gritted his teeth as he stood to his full height, muscles tensing.

"TAMA TOA TU PAREKURA!"

He then smacked his thighs and lifted his fists in the air as he continued to chant.

"TĀKU TŪRANGA!"

Dakota's neck muscles tensed as he roared his words, everyone's focus still on him as he chanted.

"TOMO PA O WHAKAARIKI!"

He then smacked his thighs and lifted his fists into the air as he continued the chant.

"TĀKU TŪRANGA!"

He then leapt up and smacked the ground then jumped back onto his feet, his right arm raised up at the elbow with his hand clenched into a fist while he smacked that elbow with his left hand a couple of times as he kept chanting.

"KEI TE PAPA PAKANGA!"

He then raised his hands up and struck his chest with his hands then slapped his thighs immediately afterwards as he kept up the chant.

"HE IWI KOTAHI!"

He then turned diagonally, striking his fists into the air as his eyes never left Team Rocket as they witnessed him continue the chant.

"MŌ NGĀ IWI WHANUI!"

He then took his former stance as he moved his arms towards one another, his left hand smacking his right elbow, as he took the step to take the stance then moved his right hand in front and across his face before taking a step back diagonally then repeated these same actions two more time as he continued to chant.

"TĀNGATA KAIRAKAU! TĀNGATA MAIA! TĀNGATA WEHI KORE!"

Then he took his former stance, front facing Team Rocket, then moved his head side to side in unison with either hand leveled in front of his face then crossed back away from it as he continued the chant.

"KAUA KA MATE WHEKE!"

His ferocious gaze then focused immediately back on Team Rocket as he then smacked his thighs with his hands three times then uppercutted his hands into the air as he continued to chant.

"KA MATE URUROA! KAIPĀHUA!"

Hun gritted her teeth, eyes twitching and lips quivering.

"S-Sandslash use Swift!"

"Slash?!"

"Do it!"

"San….S…Slash."

The Sandslash had turned back to her, but meeting the woman's furious gaze it turned and fired its Swift attack at the boy. A cloud rose from the strike and Team Rocket could hear the boy coughing. Hun's smirk to shape though the sweat on her forehead was still quite visible.

"That shut him up."

The cloud soon receded. Dakota was hunched over a little with his hands on his knees and one eye closed, more bruises on his body as he still focused a furious glare on Team Rocket. This made Hun and Attila's eyes widen at this. Hun shook her head, eyes wide as she spoke.

"That's impossible!"

Dakota then started to move to his full height as he suddenly struck his thighs again before standing to his full height and renewed the chant, his eyes almost bulging out of his head as he fixed them with what Team Rocket was a mad gleam.

"I AHAHA!"

He then held out his right arm partly in front of him, the hand clenched into a fist, as he repeatedly held his left hand over the arm and struck it though not as hard as he had with his thighs and did this repeatedly as he chanted.

"KA TŪ TE IHI-IHI! KA TŪ TE WANA-WANA!"

He then raised his hands above his head, his focus going to the sky briefly, before bringing his hands down to strike his chest while his right foot would step up then down and back up then followed these same motions two more times as he continued to chant before resting his hands on the top of his legs with his focus on Team Rocket.

"KI RUNGA KI TE RANGI! E TŪ IHO NEI! E TŪ IHO NEI! Hi!"

He held their gaze for a few moments before calling out the next part of the chant.

"PONGA RÄ!"

He then raised his hands then smacked his thighs before raising his arms up and struck his elbows with the opposite arms' hands. Then he moved his hands out in front of him, keeping them in front of him shaking as he fixed a vicious glare on Team Rocket, all while he chanted.

"KAPA O PANGO, AU-E, HI!"

Then he continued the chant after a few heartbeats.

"PONGA RÄ!"

Dakota raised his hands again then smacked his thighs then followed up by raising his arms again and struck his elbows with the opposite arms' hands then he moved his right hand up to his throat and moved it back across and in front of his throat then pointed at Team Rocket as he chanted.

"KAPA O PANGO, AU-E, HI! HA!"

Attila almost took a step back at this then turned to see the other members of Team Rocket, turning to him with their eyes full of hesitation and their nerves shaking. He then turned back to the boy. He thought he saw and heard something in the distance, but he returned his gaze back to the boy as he called out his commands.

"Skarmory, use Swift! Muk, use Sludge Bomb!"

The Pokémon followed his commands and fired their attacks. Hun followed this up.

"Sandslash, use Swift!"

"Sl…Slash."

Sandslash hesitated again but then fired its attack, feeling the woman's glare on it.

The cloud that had emerged from Attila's Pokémon's attacks only grew from Sandslash's Swift. Team Rocket covered their eyes as the smoke filled the area almost close to them. They then returned their gaze back, with hesitant smirks on their faces believing they had won.

When the smoke cleared, their eyes widened with shock and dismay. From the smoke, they didn't see Dakota at first. A pair of large orange wings had pulled back after having blocked the attack. Around Dakota stood several Pokémon, many of them Ash's. Ash's Charizard had blocked the attack, no visible damage was seen on its wings. Alongside it were Ash's Sceptile, Infernape, Totodile, Bulbasaur, Torterra, Krookodile, and others that hadn't been captured. Rockruff also stood in front of Dakota, growling at Team Rocket alongside the other Pokémon.

Dakota smiled as he knelt down, patting the rock type's head.

"Thank you, Rockruff. You brought them just in time."

Hun's eyes widened.

"This was all just a stalling tactic?!"

"No, what I did was an old war dance of Alola, one that was done by warriors when they made a stand against their enemies. Rockruff rallied our friends to counterattack while I showed you wouldn't be met without resistance."

(Kanto, Cerulean City)

The man and woman laughed, punching into the air in anticipation of the fight to come.

(Kalos, Lumiose City)

The siblings held each other's hands as they danced in circles, their smiling faces still locked on the screen.

(Hoenn, Petalburg City)

The two young women and their Pokémon grinned as they cheered at this surprise. They along with their Pokémon punched into the air and cheered for those taking a stand against Team Rocket.

(Kalos, Vaniville Town)

The young man and his Pokémon laughed as they stood with their hands clenched into fists, calling out for them to obliterate Team Rocket. The young woman and her Pokémon hugged, laughing and crying at the sight on screen.

(Kanto, Pallet Town, Professor Oak's Ranch)

Attila felt like he was going to break his teeth as they gritted and shook. His mind was racing at seeing what Team Rocket faced now.

"Y-You're still outnumbered!"

Team Rocket's Pokémon started to move closer to the front, being met with the furious gazes of the Pokémon that stood around Dakota. The boy then snarled.

"But not outmatched."

Suddenly an explosion erupted behind Team Rocket. Human members and their Pokémon flew across the ranch from a fiery blast. Then those present heard a whooshing sound. They all looked to see figures moving through the air before they landed beside Dakota.

"INCINEROAR!"

Leia and her Incineroar stood beside Dakota, their ferocious gazes locked onto Team Rocket. Leia turned to her son and smiled before turning her once again furious look upon Team Rocket.

"YOU DARE ATTACK MY SON! YOU WILL KNOW THE WRATH OF THE MAHINAS OF ALOLA!"

Team Rocket started to stumble a little at this, their once confident posturing now replaced by fear and uncertainty. Leia turned to her son, nodding something to which Dakota nodded back.

Leia then threw her head back slightly and let out what sounded like a sharp bark. Then Leia, Dakota, and Inceniroar then fixed a vicious excited gaze on Team Rocket as they rubbed their hands together quickly, mother and son letting out a single sound.

"HAAAA!"

Their voices oozed with fierce delight and anticipation of what was about to come.

Hun and Attila turned to one another, eyes wide at this. The former spoke first.

"Do something!"

"Me?! Don't you always have a plan?!"

"I didn't anticipate this!"

As they bickered, they turned back at hearing mother and son chanting. They saw the two of them and Incineroar move their hands in front of their faces, shaped like claws, then pulled them back to either side of their faces as they locked their gazes on Team Rocket. They then moved their right hands, clenched into fists, and drug them across their throats in the same way Dakota had done before. They then motioned their left arms almost in a partial backhand motion to the side of their bodies. Following this, they motioned their right arm back up then forward and up then smacked their left hands on their right arms.

Everyone around the world watched in awe and shock at this, this show of resilient defiance and ferocity unlike anything they'd seen before in humans. That was except for those in Alola or those descended from this region, they knew what was being done here. While they were surprised, what they truly felt was pride and followed along in spirit as the dance was performed.

Hun's eyes shook as she tried to show a visage of anger and fearlessness, but it was apparent what she felt. Attila's hands clenched into fists, but the grip was lacking.

Leia, Dakota, and Incineroar then struck their chests, then motioned their hands up and to their sides, the arms from the elbows stood up straight and the hands curled to the side as they were clenched into fists, as the mother and son finished their chant.

"E KU I KE KOA O ALOLA E!"

The three then took a quick step forward with their right feet as they motioned their arms for their left hands to strike their right arms which they then threw up a little then cut down in the air then quickly moved to the left side then slashed back right as they roared together.

Hun shook her head before it snapped back up.

"Attack!"

Team Rocket's Pokémon charged forward. The Pokémon of the Ranch rushed forward to meet them, alongside them were Rockruff and Incineroar. Charizard, Infernape, and Incineroar released three flamethrowers togethers that tore through the Ariados, Hypnos, and Primeapes sending them flying. Torterra fired an Energy Ball that slammed into and sent Muk flying. Totodile fired a Water Gun that sent Sandslash flying back while Krookodile launched forward, using a Dragon Claw attack to strike down Skarmory as it attempted a Sky Attack. Bulbasaur fired a Razor Leaf alongside Sceptile's Bullet Seed, striking Steelix completely nullifying its Iron Tail attack and knocking it down.

The human members of Team Rocket watched in dismay and horror, refusing to believe what they were seeing. Attila turned to Hun.

"We can't just be overpowered like this! We gotta do something!"

"HEY!"

Team Rocket turned to see that Leia had let out the shot. Her visage of hatred locked on them.

"That's exactly what's going to happen! Incineroar! Fire Blast!"

Incineroar turned to face Team Rocket, the humans and Pokémon crowded together in one spot. The fire type puffed out its chest and released the powerful fire type attack from its belt. The other Pokémon followed Inceniroar's lead. Charizard and Infernape released Flamethrowers, Sceptile and Bulbasaur released Solar Beams, Totodile fired a Water Gun, and Krookodile fired a Stone Edge.

"Ruurroooo!"

Dakota turned to see Rockruff's mane glow and then its tail before the Pokémon fired what Dakota recognized to be a Rock Throw. Team Rocket screamed from the plethora of attacks, resulting in an explosion. Team Rocket then were sent flying into the sky, bruised from the attacks.

Attila's lip quivered.

"YOU'LL PAY FOR THIS, YOU BRAT!"

Hun's normal calm persona was replaced by pure hatred and humiliation.

"I PROMISE YOU, YOU'LL BE SORRY!"

Soon enough Team Rocket disappeared into the sky, a gleaming star briefly appearing where they were last seen.

The Pokémon cheered at this victory.

(Kanto, Cerulean City)

The man and woman laughed, punching into the air at seeing the decisive victory.

(Kalos, Lumiose City)

The sister jumped up and down, a big smile on her face, as she punched into the air while her brother dropped onto the ground as he sighed in relief at the sight on the screen.

(Hoenn, Petalburg City)

The two young women laughed, holding hands, as the one's Blaziken held the hands of the other's Piplup and danced around with broad smiles on their faces.

(Kalos, Vaniville Town)

The young man and his Pokémon jumped up and down, punching into the air as they cheered in celebration. The young woman and her Pokémon smiled at the sight of the day being won at Pallet Town, hugging each other.

(Kanto, Pallet Town, Professor Oak's Ranch)

Leia and Incineroar hugged Dakota who stood in surprise and relief. The boy's mother cried happy tears.

"Dakota, I'm so proud of you!"

"Thanks, mom."

"I hate to interrupt this powerful moment…but perhaps could you release us?"

They turned to see an embarrassed smile on Professor Oak's face. Leia laughed and nodded before motioning to Incineroar. The fire type then used its claws to cut free Professor Oak and Gary as the other Pokémon freed their trapped friends and destroyed the machines Team Rocket had brought to keep the cages locked. Then Incineroar turned to Shane, Remy, and Ruckus. Incineroar snarled at them, claws bared at them. The trio of bullies whimpered at this.

"Incin!"

Incineroar then slashed with its claws, cutting the three free. As they stood up, they met their fierce gazes of Leia and Dakota. Soon though, the family's focus went to Professor Oak and Gary walked over to them. Professor Oak chuckled.

"Dakota, my boy, you really started your journey in a truly unique fashion to say the least."

Gary chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck.

"You've made quite the statement here."

Dakota gave him a small smile then turned to see the filming equipment, somehow having not been damaged from the short battle. He then walked up to it then moved to the side and focused the camera on the Pokémon and people at the Ranch.

"These are the heroes here. It was their examples along with the example set by Ash Ketchum and his friends, human and Pokémon, that truly saved the day here. I was just one part, it was their powerful examples of leadership, courage, passion, and respect for your roots that beat Team Rocket. They inspire people and Pokémon to rise like the moon, I just hope to honor them. And as for Team Rocket, you know what you face when you come for heroes like these before you. Remember it."

Dakota then walked back into the camera and spoke a few words in old Alolan before turning the camera off.

(Professor Oak's Lab, several minutes later)

After having cleaned up the remains of the fight, Dakota now stood in the lab (new clothes on) with his mom, her Incineroar, Professor Oak, Gary, the bullies, and the Pokémon that had played a part in the battle. Delia Ketchum had also come too. Professor Oak then stood before Dakota, the three starters on the table. He smiled at Dakota.

"Now, who will you choose to go on your journey with?"

Before Dakota could answer, the bullies rushed forward and grabbed the specific Pokémon they had before. All except Dakota fumed at this. Remy tried to focus a defiant glare at Dakota.

"Even though you put on that show, it doesn't mean you'll get to be a trainer!"

Ruckus nodded.

"That was still a weird thing you did, that wasn't actual strength."

Shane simply frowned, veins appearing on his forehead and neck.

"Y-You won't be a real trainer, you won't be better than me."

Delia scoffed.

"You three are just ungrateful!"

Professor Oak's steamed.

"NOW LISTEN HERE YOU-"

Dakota then started walking past him.

"It's ok, Professor. I know who I want to go on my journey with. It's not to say the three starters aren't great choices and lifelong partners. It's just what's happened over the past two days that has made it clear who I would be honored to go on my journey with."

Everyone watched as Dakota approached and knelt down in front of Rockruff.

"Rockruff, would you like to go on an adventure with me?"

Rockruff's eyes widened at this. All it saw was Dakota's warm smile and the nods from all the other Pokémon, including the three starters, to it. Rockruff smiled.

"Ruff!"

Rockruff leapt forward, rubbing against Dakota faster than it had before. Dakota laughed.

"Thanks, buddy."

Leia, Delia, and Incineroar smiled. Professor Oak and Gary gasped at this then soon smiled, the former eventually spoke.

"It's only right."

Professor Oak took a Poké Ball from his pocket and handed it to Dakota. The boy smiled and turned to Rockruff, who nodded. Dakota then gently pressed the Poké Ball to the rock type, a red light engulfing it and taking it into the device. Soon enough the Poké Ball rested and Dakota stood, smiling at his partner.

"Thanks, Rockruff."

The Poké Ball then opened immediately and Rockruff emerged and jumped onto Dakota again, rubbing on him swiftly. Dakota chuckled as he hugged Rockruff.

After a few minutes, Dakota stood outside the lab given supplies and tools by his mom and Professor Oak. Leia, Incineroar, Delia, Professor Oak, and Gary stood outside the lab right before Dakota, the ranch's Pokémon stood around the fence. The boy turned to Rockruff and held out his Poké Ball.

"Ok Rockruff, you deserve a good rest."

"Ruff? Ruff!"

Rockruff shook its head. Professor Oak's eyes widened a little then he chuckled.

"I shouldn't be surprised. History has a funny way of repeating itself."

Leia smiled and turned to her son.

"Or following a similar rhythm. Dakota, Rockruff wants to be by your side not just in its Poké Ball given how you stood to protect it."

Dakota then looked down to Rockruff, who smiled and nodded. The Pokémon at the ranch smiled at one another, knowingly, before returning their gazes. Dakota smiled and put away the Poké Ball.

"Thanks, Rockruff. Are you ready?"

"Ruff!"

Dakota turned to those present, all smiling. He took a deep breath, nervous and excited, then returned their smile back.

"Until we meet again."

He put on his hood and then walked off, waving to his friends and family, humans and Pokémon who all called out to him their own best regards.

(Professor Oak's Lab, several minutes later)

Professor Oak and Gary sat at a table, taking sips from cups, when suddenly the door to the building burst open. They gasped as they looked up, Gary had a Poké Ball in hand. Who they saw enter the building returned their gazes of shock. Before them was Jason Sorenson, a Poké Ball in his own hand.

"Professor? Gary? You guys are ok?"

Gary sighed in relief and put the Poké Ball away which Jason mirrored. Professor Oak smiled as he greeted the former champion.

"Yes, we're ok now."

"B-But Team Rocket-?"

"Has been dealt with. Didn't you see the recording?"

"I saw them attack and then immediately flew over to help. I just got here. What happened?"

Professor Oak and Gary shared a knowing smile as the former pulled out a tablet and pulled up a recording of the event. Jason watched it all, eyes wide with an incredulous smile on his face.

"Who is this kid? He's got some serious guts."

Professor Oak chuckled.

"Wait till you meet him."

"What do you mean?"

"Team Rocket will certainly be seeking revenge for their plans being foiled. They'll be going after him. Despite his spirit, he's just started his journey. Given the caliber of men Team Rocket sent here, they won't be playing around when it comes to their revenge."

Jason nodded.

"I understand, Professor. And here I thought I'd just be having a peaceful traveling experience in Kanto. I guess I'm going to have to call my agent and let him know I'll be in Kanto longer than I first thought."

The three of them chuckled. Professor Oak then seemed to stare off into space.

"There's no telling what adventure awaits you all."

(Kanto, outside of Pallet Town, a few minutes later)

Dakota and Rockruff walked along the trail outside of town. The boy held the straps of his backpack with both hands. He smiled down at Rockruff, which the rock type returned. The full moon gazed down at them from the night sky. Dakota sighed as he gazed at her.

"Make sure to keep a watch of our loved ones and us."

"Ruff!"

Both of them smiled at one another. Then Rockruff's ears and nose twitched. The rock type then looked up, eyes wide. Dakota followed its gaze and looked into the night sky. His eyes widened as he saw a shining flying type Pokémon soar across the sky. It looked down at them and smiled before flying off out of sight.

To be continued…

(There you have the end of the second half of the start to my new Pokémon story. The Alolan dance was a tribute and meld between the Hawaiian Ai Ha', Maori Haka, and Samoan Siva Tau. I actually used the words and movements seen in these dances performed in both sports and movies (I hope it was a good tribute to the people of Polynesia). With Dakota I also wanted him to have a unique starter/partner Pokémon, I thought having one from his ancestral home region would be a good fit. I hope I've really started this story off well and you all continue to read and comment on it. I hope you all enjoyed it!)
