Chapter 11

Shirai Ryu Training Grounds

Fox and Cass lung at each other, there knuckles colliding with each other, with Cass putting up her feet on her opponent. She pushes herself off Fox's chest and does a backflip, creating some distance between her opponent.

As Cass lands on her feet, Fox aims several shrunkens at her, but Cass also throws her own set of shrunkens to block his attacks. Not bothered by his failed attack, Fox rushes in to face Cass in close kombat.

As the two teens continue to spar, Jason is seen battling with a smart phone from the sidelines.

"Come on, pick up." Jason mutters, before turning to his sparring allies. "Hey Fox, you sure this thing is connected to the internet?!"

"It runs on…" Fox panted, as he duck under a kick from Cass. "League Satellite!"

"Well tell the league they have shitty reception!" Jason said

"Tell them yourse…woah!" Fox yelled, as Cass Judo slammed him to the ground, but he quickly rolled up

"Fo-cus." Cass said, though with some difficulty's

"Sorry." Fox apologized, before blocking a punch from her. "So that's what it feels like to be on the receiving end." He thought

"Jason?" said Teen turned towards the familiar face on his phone

"Xup Rae." Jason grinned. "Like you've only been gone for six months, yet you don't text, you don't even call."

Signalling Cass to end their spar, Fox and her began approaching Jason. "Is that Rachel? No wonder you were so mad at the reception."

"Asshole." Jason muttered under his breath

"How did you get this number?" Raven asked

"Seriously? That's the first thing you say?" Jason asked incredulously

"Oh sorry, Good afternoon Cassandra, Fox." She greeted

"Why hello Rachel." Fox greeted, with Cass waving slightly

"Why you-"

"So, how did you get this number?" Raven interrupted Jason's rant. "Better still, when did you get a phone?"

"About a week now." Jason said

"Grandmaster agreed to get each of us one to keep in touch with you." Fox said "Under Jason's request."

"You're welcome." Jason added

"So, how has life been with the Titans?" Fox asked

"They are fine as a team, as individuals…" Raven trailed off

"They worse than Jason?" Fox asked

"Dude!"

"Nah, Jason wins in the weirdness department." Raven said

"I'm right here you know." Jason groaned

"We know." Raven smirked

"That's what makes teasing fun." Fox laughed

"So that's how it's going to be huh?" Jason asked, before smiling wickedly. "Since we're on the subject of weirdness, let's talk about Cass sleeping habits." He said, instantly causing Fox to turn red

"Sleeping habits?" Raven asked with a raised brow

"It's…how do I put this." Fox tried thinking of what to say

"She sleeps in her nude." Jason said, resulting in Fox face palming himself, with Cass just standing there unbothered

"Nude as in?"

"Butt naked." Jason confirmed

"And you know this why? I thought you all have different rooms?" Raven asked in a tone Fox suspected to be quite suspicious

"She usually sneaks into Fox's room when she wants to sleep." Jason shrugged. "Don't know why though, might probably be because he saved her."

"Probably." Raven dragged

"You were saying something about the Titans being weird." Fox said, hoping to change their current topic

"They aren't all weird." Raven said. "Just an overly Nice Alien princess, and a Green goof ball."

"Don't you just mean, goof ball?" Jason asked

"I meant what I said."

"Food." Cass suddenly said, making Jason look up to the wall clock in the training ground

"Guess it's almost time to eat." Jason said

"She can utter words now?" Raven asked, slightly impressed by her progress

"She actually a fast learner." Fox said. "Though making sentences is still hard for her, she doesn't have that problem with sign language though ." He did some sign gestures to emphasize his point, resulting in Cass chuckling slightly

"You just told a bad joke about me, didn't you?" Jason groaned

"Please, what proof do you have?" Fox smirked

"Where's Father?" Raven asked

"He left an hour ago." Jason said. "Said something about a headache or something else."

"He doesn't get headaches." Raven said

"He didn't really say, he just said he was heading to Metropolis." Fox clarified

"Something tells me it's not just a headache."

Metropolis, Military Base

Appearing in a burst of flames, Scorpion had intended to find whatever had attempted to enter his mind, not once, but twice today. What he had not expected upon his arrival, was the presence of Batman outside Gotham

"Batman." Scorpion greeted, as he appeared behind the Dark Knight

"Scorpion?" Batman asked, turning to face his allie. If he was startled by the Spectre's arrival, he did not show it. "What are you doing here?"

"I should be asking you the same thing." Scorpion said, while crossing his arm. "You don't usually visit Metropolis unless it's League business, which I suspect this is?" He asked, while sensing the presence of Superman inside the military base, alongside another suspicious presence

"We're about to find out." Batman said, as he led Scorpion through a trail of damaged tanks and cars, before reaching the entrance to the facility, which had been built into the mountain.

As they walked inside, Scorpion's narrowed his eyes, as the room was filled with multiple pods, all of which contained people. The sound of grunting drew their attention away from the pods, as it was followed by punching and metal bending. Following the nose, they found Superman, trying to break through a large metal door. On seeing this, Batman threw a Batarang at the door, getting Superman's attention, and cried out.

"Hold it, Superman! Destroying government property is not your style. What's going on here?"

"See for yourself," Superman replied and then ripped the giant metal door of and tossed it aside, before noticing Scorpion. "Scorpion? What brings you here?"

"Someone in this building tried to enter my mind." He said, while eying the entrance Superman just made.

"Not a fan of people in your mind huh?" Superman asked

"No." Was Scorpion's simple reply, as the trio stepped through the entrance, before walking down a hallway filled with computers and monitors along the wall.

They came upon another, much larger door. But Scorpion and Superman tore it down with ease. Once they entered they found a strange looking creature, restrained at the end of the room. It was a green skinny looking alien of some sort.

"What is it?" Batman asked.

"Mankind's only hope," Superman replied and pulled two pair of leavers, which released the creature. It dropped on its knees but Superman caught him.

"How certain are you about that?" Scorpion asked

"He's been trying to reach out to me telepathically. But that stasis field interfered. When his message finally broke through I came to rescue him." Superman explained.

"That does not answer my question." Scorpion said, as he continued to study the creature

"He's right." Batman said, as he walked up to them. "What's he doing here?"

"The invasion." Scorpion resisted the urge to burn the telepath on hearing his voice in his mind. On sensing the Spectre's annoyance, the Alien decided to speak normally.

"I came to warn you, but I was captured." The Alien said as Superman helped him to stand up. "But I was imprisoned here. They wouldn't listen."

"Big surprise," Batman said, sarcastically.

"I sense you do not trust me," The being said. "Perhaps this would help," He said and suddenly, he changed appearance, showing he was a shape shifter on top of being a telepath. He took on a more human appearance, with a blue cape, shorts, boots and red straps across his chest. "I am J'onn J'onzz," He said, holding out his hand to shake Batman's. The Dark Knight however did not return the gesture.

"Changing forms does not help your case." Scorpion said

"Don't take it personal, J'onn. Batman doesn't trust anyone." Superman said. "As for Scorpion…well, he's more focused on you proving yourself first, before he can trust you."

"A wise policy," J'onn said.

They all walked out of the building. However, all of a sudden, spotlights were flashed before them, followed by a gruff voice, telling them, "Stop right there, Justice League." Before them were several dozen US soldiers. "You're trespassing on a restricted area." The commander told them. "Our orders are to keep that freak here."

"Wait!" Superman cried out, and stood in front of J'onn. "I'll vouch for him. You have to let us go." He pleaded.

"I don't think so," The army commander said, giving the Man of Steel a glare.

"But the world's security may be at stake," Superman told him.

"That's why he'll never leave here alive," The commander hissed and all of a sudden, he and his soldiers transformed. They had taken the shape of white gooie looking creatures, much to the horror of Superman.

"It's the Invaders!" J'onn exclaimed, but was shot down for his trouble, alongside Superman who got hit in the chest and was sent smashing into a tank. Thinking fast, Batman managed to shove J'onn and himself behind a Jeep, with Scorpion covering them.

"Contact the others." Scorpion said, as he dodged the blasts coming his way, before sending multiple fireball at the Aliens

"Signals are jammed." Batman said, while rushing J'onn into the Batwing, before taking into the sky

Having recovered, Superman lifted up a tank above his head. "Scorpion!" He called, signaling the Spectre to teleport out of the way, before he threw the tank at the advancing aliens, causing them to fall back.

Reappearing above the Batwing, Scorpion held onto the left wing of the aircraft, with Superman catching up to it. But the group were quickly pursued by many enemy fighters.

Superman and Scorpion tried to provide covering fire, but there were too many of them. One of them got in a lucky hit and shot the left wing of from the Batwing. Luckily for them, a Green construct caught them.

"Jordan?" Scorpion asked, as he stood on the left wing of the aircraft

"Hal's off World." A voice said, revealing himself to be an African American dressed in black and green suit, wielding a Green Lantern Power Ring. "The name's John Stewart of the Lantern Corp." As soon as he said that, some more ships appeared and shot at him. Luckily for him, Diana and Hawkgirl arrived and gave him covering fire.

"New League members?" Scorpion asked, as he observed Hawkgirl and John

"Not entirely." Batman answered, slightly taken aback by the arrival of Hawkgirl. "John is the only new member, who joined last week to fill in for Hal." he said, right before J'onn suddenly phased through the Batwing to join the fight while John placed the aircraft on top of a cliff.

Some more fighters showed up and shot at the heroes, but they were shot down from above by Cyborg

"Booyah!" Cyborg said, as he shot down another Alien

Hundreds more of those weird looking goo like creatures were on the ground, and fired on the cliff where Batman and Scorpion were at, but the Spectre began fighting his way through dozens of Invaders, with Batman assisting him by throwing a couple of Batarangs, which exploded on impact.

Back in the air, Hawkgirl was caught in an explosion, which knocked her to the edge of a cliff. The enemy had her on sight. Luckily, Aquaman landed in front of her and provided covering with his Trident.

"Come at me, vile creatures!" Aquaman announced as he blocked the enemy's lasers with his Trident, and deflected it back at him, hitting the fighter. It caused it to crash towards the duo. Luckily, John used his ring to cover them with an energy bubble.

Superman tossed the final fighter into a mountain wall, and it seemed to be over. "That's the last one," He said.

"Not quite," Cyborg said as he looked up into the sky, where more fighters were descending on them. They all prepared for the second assault. But then, out of nowhere, dark storm clouds surrounded the enemy fighters. Shazam had arrived on the scene, raining lightning on the enemy, destroying all of them in a single blow, while letting out a battle cry.

The other heroes covered their eyes from the lightning. Once it was clear, they looked again to see that the enemy was defeated

"Do I make good entrances or what?" Shazam asked, as he joined the group

Back on the ground, there were still a few dozen aliens left, but then a red blur struck them at lightning speed, knocking them away.

"Hey, Bats," The Flash said as he appeared before the group. "Lucky I showed up when I did, huh?" He commented, crossing his arms.

"It was not luck," J'onn told him. "I summoned you all via telepathy."

"Look, I'm usually quick on the uptake but could someone please tell me what the heck is going on here?" Flash asked.

Minutes later, Superman was putting the Batwing back together with his heat vision, as J'onn had finished explaining things to the rest.

"So, J'onn J'onzz, you came from Mars to warn us?" Diana asked.

"We first encountered them a thousand of your Earth years ago," J'onn began explaining."Mars was at the height of peace and prosperity before the invaders came and attack. No one knew where they came from, but they fully intended on making Mars their planet. War raged on for centuries between the Martians and the invaders, and Mar's civilization turned to waste. The invaders were winning, feeding on the Martian's psychic energy and their abilities. A small group of Martians attempted one last desperate attack. Through the use of paralytic nerve gas, the invaders were brought to suspended animation, but the victory has led to only one last survivor, me." He added, resulting in Scorpion looking at him in sympathy

"For over 500 years, I stood guard over them." J'onn finished his story. "But then, while I was in a hibernation cycle, astronauts from Earth unsealed the stronghold and accidentally revived the invaders."

"Wait," Flash cried out. "Those astronauts never said anything about finding life on Mars."

"Some pencil pusher in Washington probably decided it should be classified information." John believed.

"With the Martians gone, the invaders had nothing left to feed upon. So they turned their sights to Earth. I narrowly escaped and came here to warn of the coming danger. While I was being held against my will, the invaders sent advanced agents to disable Earth's defenses." J'onn explained further.

"That's why they destroyed Earth's deep space monitoring network." Batman pointed out. "So we couldn't detect their activities."

"We should stop them before it's too late," John said as his eyes flared green.

"It may already be too late," J'onn said as he looked at the direction of Metropolis.

Moments later, there was a loud thundering noise, coming from that direction. "What was that?" Diana asked.

"It has begun," J'onn said, as smoke started rising from the mountains.

"What're they doing?" Hawkgirl asked.

"The invaders are nocturnal." J'onn replied. "They want to blot out the sun so they can live in perpetual darkness."

"Friends of yours?" Flash asked Batman jokingly.

"It's no joke," Batman scolded him.

"Can't you just make some more of that nerve gas?" Cyborg asked the Martian.

"Unfortunately, no." J'onn replied, bitterly. "The gas can only be made from a rare Martian plant. I brought a sample with me. But it was destroyed when I was captured."

"Great. What's plan B?" Shazam asked.

Scorpion then answered. "We destroy those factories."

John then then turned to him. "Hey man, this is no job for amateurs." Scorpion gave him an unimpressed look.

"Indeed" Scorpion said suddenly holding John's Lantern ring. "It is completely amateurish to lose your ring."

"Huh?" John asked in shock as his costume faded away. "How did you do that?"

"That's gonna leave a mark on your pride." Hawkgirl chuckled, as Scorpion tossed the ring back to it's owner.

"I wanna see you do that again." John growled, activating ring

"Are all Lanterns like this?" Scorpion asked, with a raised brow

"We don't have time for this, let's not fight among ourselves." Superman said, as he stepped in between the two. "John, you may not know this, but Scorpion was a great help in handling the last two major crisis."

"Tch."

"So, what's the plan?" Flash asked.

"Scorpion is right." Batman started. "We should start of by destroying those factories. Tactically, we'll have multiple objectives. So we'll need to split into teams."

"Dips on Wonder Woman." Shazam quickly said, flying up to Diana

In the end, Shazam ended up with John and the Flash. They were crossing the Atlantic, with John and Shazam flying, while Flash ran across the water.

"You are no fun," Shazam said, childishly.

"This isn't supposed to be fun," John told him. "We've got a job to do. And we will do it better without any distractions. Understood?"

"Yeah, yeah. I hear ya." Shazam retorted.

They reached some place in Manhattan, where the heroes overlooked the factory and the guards.

"That's our target," John said. "Remember the plan?" He asked, before receiving nods from the duo

Egypt

A factory was located near the sphinx, and was heavily guarded like all the others. The heroes who went to take it out were Diana, Hawkgirl and Aquaman, as they all stood over a sand dune which overlooked the factory.

"Alright," Hawkgirl said, patting her mace. "Shall we let them know we're here?"

"Perhaps we should find a way inside, first." Aquaman suggested.

"Allow me," Diana said and flew ahead.

Aquaman was about to follow, but Hawkgirl put a hand on his shoulder and told him, "Wait. Let her do her thing." She said with a confident smile.

Diana flew over to a walker, dodging its attack. So threw her lasso and tied it around its leg and began flying around it, wrapping the lasso around all three legs. "Hera, give me strength." She said before pulling the lasso, wrapping the walker's legs together, causing it to stumble over, right towards the factory, breaking a hole through the wall.

Diana stood at the hole she created. "There's your opening," She said and flew inside.

Once the two caught up with Diana, they found themselves under fire by the invaders. Diana blocked their lasers with her bracelets, while Hawkgirl and Aquaman blocked them with their mace and Trident.

"Stand aside," Aquaman said, as he raised his Trident and shot lightning at their assailants, burning them to a crisp.

Gotham

Batman, J'onn and Scorpion teleported to Gotham to take down the factory there. Batman and Scorpion were seen covering behind a building, to avoid detection from the walkers.

"Never thought I would come here during the day." Scorpion commented.

"These things must have weakness," Batman said. Suddenly, J'onn appeared, phasing through the ground. "Well?" Batman asked.

"I've searched the outer perimeter. There is no way in," J'onn commented.

"Not entirely true." Scorpion said, before teleporting the group into a massive hall, but on arriving, they were met with heavy fire.

"Typical." Scorpion said as he dodged the lasers and returned fire. The parasites suddenly turned and ran, much to his surprise. "They're fleeing?"

"It might have something to do with the sun." Batman said

True to Batman's words, Scorpion noticed that the parasites were avoiding the sunlight that was gaping through the hole. He looked outside and up towards the sun with curiosity, before turning his attention back inside.

Metropolis

Back in Superman's city, Cyborg teamed up with Superman to take on the threat there. They had managed to take out one of the walkers, when Superman chopped the leg of from one of them, and used it to toss it at the factory wall, making an entrance.

"This way," He said to Cyborg

"My scanners are picking up multiple targets." Cyborg said. But then they were shot at by the guards.

"Don't need a Scanner for that though?" Superman said ironically. "Stay back. I'll…" He tried to say, but Cyborg already sent multiple blast at the Aliens, instantly taking them down.

"Wow," Superman said, impressed. "New upgrade?"

"You could say that." He told the Man of Steel as he walked past him. "Let's keep going inside."

Manhattan

John flew up and shielded himself from a walker's assault. His shield managed to it back, but then the walkers shot something else at him. Whatever it was, it penetrated his shield and he was knocked out by gas. Flash ran over and started whirling his arms around into a pair of cyclones which blew the gas away. He ran over to John, picked him up and managed to escape before the enemy could fire on them again.

At the mountain, Shazam had just dug himself out of a rubble, before noticing Flash running up to him, with John in his arms and said, "Maybe we should, you know, get the fuck out of here!"

"Probably." Shazam said, as dozens of the enemy fighters descended upon them

Egypt

Inside the factory, Diana was blocking the enemy with her bracelets as they shot at her.

"They're fighting back harder. We must be close," Hawkgirl assumed.

"Close to what?" Aquaman asked.

"Whatever it is, they don't want us there," Hawkgirl replied. Suddenly, they were attacked again by a group of parasites. "Like I said," Hawkgirl commented and attacked. They retreated when she came at them, and suddenly a door of some kind closed in front of her. Another door closed behind the trio, trapping them inside. "Aw, fuck." Hawkgirl growled.

Suddenly, gas leaked inside the room they were trapped in. They started coughing as they inhaled the gas, and soon, the two women and Atlantean suddenly collapsed, losing conscience.

Metropolis

Superman and Cyborg flew through the strange organic facility. After they landed, Superman looked around him, on high alert. "They're close." He said.

Cyborg was about to say something, when suddenly, they were shot at. The parasites turned and ran all of a sudden. "Leaving so soon?" Cyborg asked as he flew after them.

"Victor wait" Superman cried out, smelling an obvious trap. Which it was, as what happened to Diana's group happened to them. They were sealed off in the corridor, and suddenly, gas filled the room. It caused Cyborg to get knocked out

"Hang on." Superman said as he turned around to the door to rip it open. "I'll-AAAAH!" He cried out in pain after he grabbed hold of the door, which sent powerful electric shocks into his body, knocking him out.

Gotham

Batman's group was having trouble as well, as they had to duck for cover, while Scorpion faced the enemies head on. "We're cut of," He said.

"It's almost as if they know what we're thinking," Batman said and tossed an explosive Batarang at their assailants, forcing them to retreat. "Any ideas, J'onn?" The Dark Knight asked the Martian, but J'onn didn't reply. His eyes were glowing. "J'onn?" Batman asked, with concern.

"The others have fallen. They have failed," J'onn told them.

"What?" Batman asked in shock. "Are you certain?"

Scorpion nodded, "I can sense it, though they're still alive, for now." He replied.

"This way," J'onn told them, leading the way down a corridor.

They ran deeper into the facility, but were soon attacked again. After a while, the heroes managed to shake them off.

"Look," J'onn told them as he pointed towards what they've been searching for. It looked like a control room, as several of the parasites were working there. "It's the central core," J'onn told them.

"How can we shut it down?" Batman asked.

"The ion matrix crystal," He said, pointing at a tube like container, with a red crystal in it. "If we can remove that, we can shut down the entire system. I'll need a diversion."

"Consider it done," Scorpion said as he and Batman began causing havoc, diverting the attention of the guards away from J'onn, who successfully managed to sneak over to the crystal, using his phasing ability.

He was however shot down by a guard. "J'onn!" Scorpion growled, as he dashed forward to his aid, slicing down any creature standing in his way.

"Got him out, now!" Batman told Scorpion, as he knocked away any parasite coming at him.

Picking up the Martian, Scorpion teleported him out of the factory

Batman grabbed the crystal and started heading for the Exit, but he was unable to leave as the factory was suddenly sealed up.

"It's time for you to go!" Scorpion said to Batman, as he suddenly appeared behind him. Before Batman could ask him about J'onn's whereabouts, Scorpion opened a portal underneath his feet, causing the Dark Knight to fall through it.

With Batman gone, Scorpion turned to face the rest of the Invading troop of guards, who had all gathered, with their weapons pointing straight at him

"Surrender, earthling." One Alien ordered. "You're surrounded."

"The only thing I'm surrounded by…" Scorpion muttered, as his entire body became engulfed in flames, while revealing a spectral like skeleton. "Is fear and dead men." The entire troop never got the chance to opened fire, as the last thing they saw was an intense burst of Hellfire…

…Meanwhile, Outside the Factory

Having being dropped off a few miles away from the factory, J'onn instantly turned back to locate his allies, but was instead met with a massive explosion that seem to engulf the entire Factory.

J'onn could only watch the explosion, fearing the worst. "No!"

With the factory destroyed, J'onn tried to telepathically search for Scorpion and Batman, but was met with nothing. Choosing not to mourn there supposed demise, he instead started heading towards Metropolis

Hall of Justice

In the Halls High Technology Clean Lab, Batman had the Main computer analysing the crystal, when suddenly Scorpion appeared behind him

"A heads up would have been good, instead of you just tossing me into a portal." Batman said, without looking back

"I had to make our demise believable." Scorpion said. "That was your plan after all. What are we looking at?" He asked

"This crystal seems to have the capabilities to generate dry rain clouds." Batman explained.

"To block the Sun." Scorpion said.

"Exactly. J'onn said that the invaders were nocturnal. Coming from deep space, the invaders have no resistance to the Sun's ultra violet rays." Batman said as he began assembling and building a specific gadget with the computer's help.

"So how do you plan to stop them with this crystal?" Scorpion asked.

"With this." Batman brought out a blueprint of a device on screen. "It's an emitter that should reverse the ion charge, it should reverse the effects of the factories all over. The computer is building the device as we speak."

"Then we head to Metropolis when you're done." Scorpion said. "I can sense the others there."

"It's done." Batman took out the emitter from the Massive computer

Metropolis, Imperium Base

A while later, everyone of the heroes, except Batman and Scorpion, had been taken to a platform, where their limbs were restrained. Everyone was there. Including J'onn, who was captured while trying to rescue the others.

"J'onn. J'onn, wake up." Superman cried out.

The Martian winced before coming to it. "Superman?"

"You shouldn't have risked your life for us" Superman told him.

"Would you have done any less for me?" J'onn asked.

"Be silent," One of the parasites spat from above the platform. "The world's greatest heroes. Unimpressive." He said, mockingly. "At least you brought us the Martian. The Imperium will be most pleased."

"It's not over yet," Superman spat.

"Oh, but it is." The parasite told him. Suddenly, the roof opened up, revealing the smoke covered sky.

From the large ship above the city, a smaller vessel descended upon the factory. It hovered over the whole and opened a hatch, which released a gas cloud.

"All hail the Imperium," Parasite announced, pridefully, as he and the others bowed to welcome their leader.

Out of the smoke appeared a large organism like creature. It was bulbous, purple-black body and had multiple tentacles. "J'onn J'onzz," The Imperium said as it hovered over to the heroes. "It's been a long time." It said before having J'onn brought before it. J'onn was released from his bonds before two guards, wielding a pair of sticks which they used to electrocute him. The Martian cried out in pain and eventually he was reverted back to his true form. J'onn fell to the floor, groaning in pain. "Much better," The Imperium said with glee. "You have defied us for centuries."

"And I will never bow before you or any of your kind," J'onn proudly said as he struggled to get back up, but managed to get up on his feet.

"Then we'll finish what should've been accomplished long ago," The Imperium told him. "The elimination of the last Martian," It cried out and stuck its tentacles at J'onn, digging themselves inside of him, underneath the skin. J'onn cried out in agonizing pain. The Imperium pulled J'onn inside of it, where it proceeded to electrocute him.

"Let go of him!" Superman cried out as he struggled to get free

"Give yourself to us, J'onn J'onzz." The Imperium told him.

"Never!" The Martian managed to cry out.

"Why do you continue to resist us?" The Imperium asked. "Embrace this truth. After all these years, you have finally lost."

"Have I?" J'onn asked, as if he's hiding something.

"You're hiding something. Something concealed deep inside your mind. Is this another one of your Martian tricks?" The Imperium asked, feeling nervous. Something that did not go unnoticed by J'onn.

"Do I sense fear?" He asked, mockingly.

"What are you hiding?" The Imperium demanded to know, losing patience.

Suddenly, J'onn turned into his more human like form, and cried out, "Now!"

Suddenly, there was an explosion at the core. Everyone looked in that direction and once the smoke cleared, they saw to their surprise that it was the Dark Knight himself, in the flesh.

"Batman?" Flash said in shock.

"How? J'onn said you died?" Diana asked, incredulously.

"I mentally shielded him so he could not be detected," J'onn explained.

"Wait, if he's here that mean…" Shazam trailed off, as another explosion caught their attention. Unlike the first one, this took the form of a flaming tornado that engulfed most of the Parasites. When the flames died down, it revealed the figure of Scorpion

"Ten out of Ten, for dynamic entry." Cyborg turned to Shazam. "He's got you beat Billy."

"Show off." Shazam muttered, under his breath

Meanwhile, Batman then stuck a device of some kind inside the core and onto the crystal. Suddenly, the red inside the core turned blue. "What've you done?!" One of the parasite soldiers spat.

"Revered the ion charge," Batman told him.

"The crystal, destroy it!" The Imperium ordered, in a panicking way.

Batman used his grappling hook to get away from the laser fire, and the lasers had no effect on the core. "It's shielded!" The parasite soldier cried out.

Whatever batman did, it caused the factory to shoot a beam into the sky which cleared it from the smoke, allowing light to shine upon the city again.

The soldiers tried shooting as Scorpion, but as soon the sun shined through the hole, and onto them, they suddenly began steaming, with their skin also boiling. They ran for cover, allowing the Scorpion to get to the Imperium.

"NO!" The Imperium cried out as the Spectre grabbed him. He tried to escape, but Scorpion punched inside the Imperium and pulled J'onn out of it. He then pulled the Imperium into sunlight

"You live underground and shun the light," J'onn hissed. "Why? Does it burn your pale skin?"

"AAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" The Imperium cried out in agony as the sun was scorching it.

"Oh, that's one nasty sun burn." Flash said, disturbed by the sight.

"Ultra violet rays," Batman said as he landed by their sides. "Coming from deep space, the invaders has no resistance to our sun's radiation." He said as he brought out a gadget which was burning through Diana's restraints.

"So you did find a weakness, after all." Diana complimented.

Superman regained his strength that has been diminishing after being away from the sun for so long. He was strong enough to use heat vision and cut himself free.

"Destroy them!" Imperium ordered and all of its soldiers began firing on them.

Superman was quick to react luckily, and ripped the floor in front of him, lifting it up and making a shield to cover everyone. Afterwards, he turned and began using his heat vision to cut everyone else free. As soon as they were lose they all teamed up against the Aliens

The Imperium's ship was now in full view. "That ship," Batman said. "We can't allow it to escape. Victor, J'onn, Shazam, get airborne and bring that thing to the ground." He told the three.

"With pleasure," J'onn said, leaving the Imperium for Scorpion to handle, as he was the first to get into the air, followed by Shazam and Cyborg.

As soon as the trio were within range, the vessel opened fire on them. J'onn phased through their attack, before blasting the ship with his Martian vision. The impact destroyed the weapons firing on the heroes, giving Cyborg and Shazam the opening they needed to attack the ship with lightning and plasma bolts

Back in the factory, Scorpion kept the Imperium at the sunlight. "Let me end your suffering," Scorpion said as he let go of the tentacles, before ripping his mask off. The parasite leader cried out in agony, as the Spectre started to burn him with Hellfire. The Imperium let out one final agonizing cry before, he was completely reduced to ash.

Back up in the air, the battle raged on, with the heroes hitting the ship with everything they got. The concentrated fire on the ship caused it to explode

Cyborg looked around after destroying the ship. "We won."

Shazam lets out a sigh and says "Great, now I have to deal with homework"

"We're not done yet," Batman told him.

"Really?" Shazam asked, slightly excited

Flash groaned and said, "Oh yeah, right. The rest of the invaders … around … around the world."

"This is going to take a while." John said

The Watchtower.

"Incredible." Superman said looking out to space and the Earth below. "This was what you've been working on?"

"Pretty cool huh?" Cyborg said. "Though Batman did most of the fundings."

"This Watchtower will act as an early warning system for detection of other invasions from space." Batman said. "Despite that, we're not abandoning the Hall of Justice."

"And it has a fully stocked kitchen." Flash came with a cup of coffee with Diana.

"This place is the Bomb." Shazam said, throwing his hands over Scorpion's shoulder, causing the Spectre to sign internally

"Impressive installation." John said as he and Hawkgirl came down. "Most impressive."

Scorpion walked up to the upper levels of the tower, where he found J'onn, brooding by the control panels.

"J'onn, are you alright?" He asked with concern.

"My families and loved ones are long gone. I am the last of my kind," He said.

"I know the feeling," Scorpion said, placing a comforting hand on J'onn's shoulder.

"Now, Mars is dead. And I am alone in the universe." J'onn said.

"I too understand your pain." Scorpion said. "If you ever need a home away from the League, the Shirai Ryu will welcome you with open arms." J'onn couldn't help but smile at the Spectre's words

"Thank you Scorpion." J'onn said

Author's Note: The DCAMU never really showed how J'onn or John Stewart joined the League, so I'm going with this. Also for JSA or JSU chapters, just know when I'm talking about the Flash, I'm talking about Barry
