Chapter 14: Sting Chamelon: The Last Light Armor Piece!: Mission in the Rain Forest!
Maverick Hunter HQ: 6:00 AM, March 18, 21XX
"Whoa, no way! That's just amazing!" Ling gasped in awe as the gang were back in the cafeteria, talking with Naniha and Fate about their past adventures. "So, you became a magical girl by wielding that wand called Raising Heart and you were hunting these things called Jewel Seeds for this Time Space Bureau organization and that's where you met Fate while hunting them? Even after all of that, you two eventually became friends?"
"Yes, that's right. But it wasn't really easy when we first met at the beginning. At first, Fate didn't trust me enough and whenever we're together we always end up fighting. But overtime, after helping her with the last couple of Jewel Seeds, we've became friends." Nanoha closed her eyes and smiled.
"That we did. We've even worked together to gather the last Jewel Seeds from my evil fake mother and defeated her before she could use them for her own selfish gain. That was also when I accepted her hand in friendship before we went our separate ways." Fate smiled slightly while she slightly turned her head away from the group.
"Fake mother? What do you mean by that?" Houki blinked while looking at Fate with confusion. Her friends were also wondering what she meant by fake mother.
"It's really hard to explain at the moment, but all we can say that Fate is living a better life with her new family." Nanoha chuckled nervously as she turned to X. "So X, from what I heard from Houki and her friends, you're the last creation of a famous scientist named Dr, Thomas Light, right?"
"Yes, that's right. You heard right." X nodded in response. "I never really met him, so I don't really know him that much. From what Dr. Cain told me, he's a kind and gentle-hearted scientist who created me for peaceful measures just before he died. But alas, much like my predecessor, MegaMan, I'm destined to fight in a war I didn't want any part of." He sighed as Cecilia patted him on the shoulder.
"Don't worry, X. It'll take some time, but I'm positive that we'll make a world where there are no wars and humans and Reploids can live together in harmony. I can definitely promise you that." She reassured him.
"She's right, X. It's not going to be easy, but we'll find a way to bring both humans and Reploids together. We'll just have to keep on fighting until the omniverse is saved from Sigma." Ling agrees as everyone else nodded in agreement.
"Y-Yeah, you're both right, Ling and Cecilia. I guess I'm still not used to the idea of fighting in a war, but if we're going to keep the omniverse safe from Sigma's clutches, then I'll keep on fighting until his plans end." X smiled anxiously as he rubbed the back of his head nervously.
"Hey, X? There's something I've been wanting to ask you." Yayoi piped up with a smiled. "Out of Houki's friends, which of them do you like the most?"
'Oh no…' Tetsuro sighed as he figured she'd say something like that.
"W-What? Why are you even asking that?" X gawked while slightly taken aback by the question.
"That's right, X. We want to know as well. Which of us do you like the most?" Cecilia glared at him while blushing madly. The other IS girls were also surprised by this and were glaring at X, waiting for an answer from him.
"Looks like those girls really want him to tell them which of them he likes." Jessie whispered to Jerry, Sophie and Marino.
"Yeah, no kidding. They've been crushing on him since he said that he'll become their guardian while they're getting used to their new lives here." Sophie agrees with a sigh.
"And it's also because he reminds them of Ichika, the guy they loved before he died. But he's also just as dense as him since he's never once told them who he likes the most." Jerry stated with annoyed dotted eyes.
"Give him time, I'm sure he'll tell them which of the girls he likes the most. So for now, we can hope that he'll live through this." Marino said with a smirk.
"I… uh… You see…" X looked down nervously as he stood up from his seat. "Oh, well, would you look at the time? I need to give my report to Zero. I'll meet up with all of you later." He quickly left the cafeteria and leaving the girls in disappointment that he never told them who he likes the most.
Fate, however, sighed at this and shook her head in disapproval. 'That X may be the omniverse's only hope for survival, but he sure is dense… I'm hoping he tells those girls which of them he likes before this gets ugly.' The IS girls all lowered their heads in depression. All of them (Including Laura somehow) likes X, but he can't decide on which of them he likes the most. For now, that question will have to wait until their next mission is ready.
Maverick Hunter HQ Training Simulation Room, 7:00 AM
Houki was in her RepArmor, glaring at a hologram of Chill Penguin. As she draws her katana, Chill Penguin smirked as he fired ice shards at her, only to be deflected by her katanas and charged in at Chill Penguin who was surprised and caught off guard by her speed. Once she was close enough to him, she did an X style shaped and slashed him vertically as Chill Penguin screamed in agony as he was reduced to scrap metal. Once the battle was over, Houki looked at her score and noticed that she was off by one point. It was a 99 and the reason she is off by one point is because she was hit by one of Chill Penguin's attacks when the simulation started. She then sighed as the simulation ended and she sheathed her katanas as Sophie walks up to her with a towel and a thermos of water.
"Off by one point. At least you're getting better at using your RepArmor. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised since you piloted an IS way back when." Sophie said with a smile as she hands him the towel and water.
"Yeah, but had I not deflected Chill Penguin's attack, I would've gotten 100." Houki said with a nod as she wipes off the sweat and drank the water while thinking to herself. 'She's right that I am getting better every day, but that's still not enough. Ever since our first battle with Vile, me and my friends have been training extensively to prepare ourselves for the next encounter with him. So when we do see him again, I know we'll beat him next time, I just know it.' She clenched her fist with determination as Sophie noticed it.
'She's not like how I'd expect her to be. I know I only heard of what happened during that time when the virus was unleashed, but she's nothing like how people say about her and her sister. Maybe… if that's the truth, then…' Sophie thought to herself until they heard clapping and a familiar voice.
"Nice one, Houki-chan! You were amazing!" Both girls heard Nanoha's voice and turned around to see her entering the room. They could tell Nanoha was watching the whole thing.
"Oh, Nanoha-chan. We didn't see you there. Were you watching the whole thing?" Houki smiled softly as she placed her hand on her hip.
"Yep! I sure was! And I was really impressed with your skills." Nanoha nodded with a cute smile. "I can definitely see that you're getting stronger since the moment we met. I can tell by your energy. Keep it up and you'll be as strong as me and Fate-chan, if not stronger."
"Thanks, Nanoha-chan. I've been keeping up with my training since I used to practice kendo at my family's dojo." Houki bowed in gratitude. "Me and my friends have been training so that we can help X end the Maverick War and defeat Sigma before he conquers the entire omniverse for his Reploid utopia. It won't be easy as Sigma was once the commander of the Maverick Hunters, but I know we'll stop him and his plans."
"That's good to hear. And you can count on me and Fate to help you guys every step of the way." Nanoha nodded as she looked at Houki with curiosity. "Say, Houki-chan. There's something I've been meaning to ask you. Do you like X the most?" That made Houki turn beet red when she said that while Sophie sweat dropped.
"Saw that coming a mile away…" Sophie muttered.
"Uh… Well… M-M-Maybe… I-I'm not really sure… But…" Houki pressed her fingers together nervously. "He does remind me of Ichika-kun… It's almost like he never left us…" She muttered shyly as she looked away a bit.
"If you don't really know for sure, then you've got to tell X how you really feel about him!" Nanoha said with determination as her eyes showed fires of determination. "You have to wait for the right moment to tell him that you loved him! If you don't, then he might be taken away by someone else!"
"W-What? W-Why would I do that? I'm not sure if that's going to work." Houki gawked as her eyes turned white dotted.
"Well, you do want X to love you back, right? And you want him to know of your feelings for him?" Nanoha asked sourly as she puffs up her cheeks.
"Well… I suppose you d-do have a point… I do want him to know of my feelings for him…" Houki was conflicted by this.
"What about you, Sophie-chan? You've been around X longer than Houki and her friends, so I'm assuming that you have feelings for him as well?" Nanoha asked as she turned to Sophie.
"Sorry, but you're way off based, Nanoha. X is more like a brother to me and Jerry, so i don't have any feelings for him other than being friends." Sophie told her with a smirk.
"Then what about Jerry-kun? Do you like him instead?" Nanoha asked again and made her blush.
"Huh?! Uh… W-Well… I know we're been together since we were kids, but I'm not sure if I do like him or not…" Sophie answered her with a stutter.
"Then it's settled! I'll help both of you become X and Jerry's soulmates! I know you four will be perfect for each other!" Nanoha grinned until the alarm came on. "…Right after our next mission, of course. Hopefully it won't take us too long."
"O-Okay…" Houki chuckled nervously as both girls sweat dropped. 'Oooooohh boy…' She thought to herself in embarrassment.
'How did I get myself tangled in this mess…?' Sophie thought to herself with a sigh before everyone headed for the command center.
The X-Squad, the Arthurs, the Koi Koi 7, Nanoha, Fate and Storm Eagle were in the command center where Zero will brief them on their next mission. Sophie took her position next to him and Jerry to send them to the location of the next Maverick General.
"Alright, everyone. We've just located our next target. Our reports stated that the next Maverick General, Sting Chameleon can be located in a rainforest near Neo Tokyo." Zero pointed out as he activated a holomap and it showed the location of the next Maverick General. "We're not sure what he's planning there, but it's important that we stop him before he can finish."
"Of course, Sting Chameleon… As his name suggests, he has the power to blend into any surrounding and can attack you from behind. I advise using extreme caution with him. He's a slippery one and won't hesitate to use his ability against us." Storm Eagle advised.
"So we'll be dealing with a Maverick who is like a regular chameleon, only bigger… This would be so much fun…" Hifumi muttered sarcastically.
"Not only that, but Jerry has detected an ancient reading in the same forest that Sting Chameleon is hiding it. We can't decipher it, but it may be another Light Capsule. So I suggest looking for that before taking on Sting Chameleon." Zero added that extra bit of info.
"If it really is a Light Capsule, then we'll be getting the final armor upgrade for the Light Armor." Charlotte looked up with determination. "Let's go, X-kun! Time to find the last Light Capsule!"
"Right. That'll be just what we need in order to put an end to Sigma's plans. Let's go, everyone!" X nodded as Jerry and Sophie warps them to the rainforest.
Neo Tokyo Rainforest, 10:45 AM (Theme: Sting Chameleon's Stage theme from Maverick Hunter X)
After receiving the mission from Zero, the gang has warped in and were now in the rainforest. Tall trees cover the canopy with their long branches as the sunlight is shining through the leaves. Rivers flows through the forest on the right side of their location as fish were seen swimming and birds were perched on trees or flying around the tree-line.
"It's so beautiful… I can't believe how much the rainforest has changed…" Cecilia murmured in awe as she looked around. The forest is a beautiful combination of science and nature that seems to blend so well perfectly.
"You'd be surprised how a lot of things has changed over the last half century. Thanks to advancements in science, people have been making ways to preserve forests, seas, lakes and rivers after nearly destroying them for the sake of progress." Jessie said with a grin "Now places like this are considered nature preserves so that no one would cut down any trees again or hunt any animals. Even some species that were endangered are now thriving again and their numbers have increased substantially."
"That's just amazing! I'm so glad to hear those animals are now thriving again and no longer have to fear extinction." Charlotte said happily.
"Not to ruin your excitement of hearing endangered animals thriving again, but don't forget why we're here. There are Mavericks about and there is still Sting Chameleon to deal with. So be on your guard, there's no telling what he might set up for us." Storm Eagle advised.
"Roger that! We'll keep an eye out for any traps he has for us!" Ling saluted as the gang pressed forward. Pushing aside branches or bushes that are obstructing their way.
They've had to deal with lumberjack enemies and Mettaurs, but they were easily dealt with without any trouble. After fighting their way through more enemies and navigating through the forest, the gang came across a crossroad. One was leading up to upper level while the other was leading down into a cave. The gang all turned to each other to think about which path for them to take to reach Sting Chameleon.
"Looks live we've reached a fork in the road. One leads up while the other leads into a cave. So which way should we take?" Fate asked her friends as everyone thinks for a moment while X narrows his eyes at the top path. He can feel the energy signature of a Light Capsule coming from the top path, so it's worth a shot.
"I think we should take the top path. I'm can feel another Light Capsule from up there. Then after we checked it out, we'll take the cave path." X then suggested to everyone.
"If that's what you think, X, then I'd say it's worth a shot. Let's go find that last Light Capsule." Akiwo nodded in agreement.
"Sounds like a plan! Then let's go!" Nanoha smiled as everyone else agreed before entering the top path. But by the time they've reached the end of the path, there was nothing but a dead end.
"So much for your plan, X… All that path led us to was nothing but a dead end…" Yamaneko muttered as she crossed her arms.
"Yeah, this was just a massive waste of time…" Sakuya frowned. "We came all this way and found squat?! There's nothing there!" But just before anyone else could say anything, Marino reaches for her blade and draws it.
"Don't be so sure. I don't think we're the only ones here." Marino told her with a tensed frown.
"What do you mean by that?" Renkin asked her until a loud rumbling was heard. Suddenly, robotic boulders came crashing down and blocked their only way out.
"Oh no! We're trapped!" Houki gasped as a long claw comes out of the darkness and grabs Akiwo's leg before pulling her up and holding her upside down as she tries to keep her skirt from showing her panties.
"Akiwo!" Kakka and the Koi Koi 7 all shouted as a large green robot dropped down from the ceiling, ready for battle while still holding their friend in its claw.
"That robot… You believe he's the source of those boulders blocking our path?" Charlotte frowned as she readies her spear.
"It's a high possibility. And no doubt was guarding this area in case anyone takes the top path. If we're going to get out of here, we'll have to take this thing down." Storm Eagle nodded as he readies his blaster.
"Then let's go everyone! We need to take down this robot and save our friend!" X issued as everyone nodded in agreement before prepping themselves for battle.
"Help me guys! I think I am gonna be sick!" Akiwo grimanced,
"Aim for the head, that's its weakspot!" Storm Eagle advised as he aimed his blaster at the head of the robot. "Storm Tornado!" He fired his attack along with Kakka's ice spells which hit the robot for massive damage, making the robot let go of Akiwo.
"Hang on, I'm coming!" Kakka yelled as he dashed towards the falling Akiwo and caught her in time. "You alright?" He asked in concern as he placed her down. Akiwo blushed madly.
"Yeah… Thanks for saving me, Kakka." Akiwo smiled before turning to the green robot as it readies its claw. "I got a score to settle with that thing." She dashed towards the robot as it fired its claw at her, she dodged it and gave it a super punch.
"Shotgun Ice!" "Shinobi Art: Icicle Dance!" X and Marino combined their attacks to give the robot even more damage than before. Cecilia and Sakuya aimed their weapons at the robot as leaped up and tried to squash our heroes, but they dodged it and Cecilia and Sakuya fired their guns at it, giving it medium damage.
"Thunder Smasher!" Fate lashed Bardchie at the robot, shocking it and gave it medium damage. Jess fired her dual revolvers at it, giving it medium damage. Yamaneko fired her rocket launcher at it, giving it medium damage as well.
"Here we go!" Tekken yelled as he leaped up and slammed his gaunlets down on the robot, making it recoil in damage.
"Hah!" Charlotte yelled as she thrust her spear at the robot's head, making it recoil in damage again. Tiny smoke appeared out of the robot's head.
"Keep it up! We're winning this thing!" Hifumi cheered as she dashed forward and gave it a killer uppercut. Miyabi dodged the robot's claw as she used her hair to give it medium damage.
"Eat this!" Runo yelled as he, Renkin and Ling combined their attacks to give it massive damage. Smoke really came out of the robot's head as it tried to desperately grab our heroes.
"It's about to explode! Houki, Laura, Dancho, I want you to combined your attacks so I can finish it with a charge shot!" X issued.
"Roger!" Houki, Dancho and Laura nodded as they dashed towards the robot and slashed it 30 times.
X charged up his X-Buster and yelled out "Here we go!" He fired the charged shot at the robot's head, damaging it beyond relief and causing it to explode.
"Oh yeah! We did it! We took out that hunk of junk and saved Akiwo!" Ling cheered and jumped for joy.
"Yeah, so glad that's over and done with. That robot really caught us by surprise. I'm guessing that Sting Chameleon must've placed that robot here in order to trap us if we take the upper path?" Jessie wondered.
"It's highly possible, Sting Chameleon has been somewhat… unorthodox…" Storm Eagle nods "But if he knew we'd take this path to find the last Light Capsule, there's no telling what he might have in store for us when we take the path through the cave."
"But I'm glad we were able to stop that robot before Akiwo was hurt. He may have thought he could ambush us with that robot, but he was sadly mistaken if he could get the upper hand on us." Houki said with a frown as everyone else nodded in agreement.
"But… we're still trapped in here, right? How are we going to find this Sting Chameleon guy if we can't get out?" Tetsuro stammered nervously as everyone looked back at the entrance still blocked by boulders. But just before anyone could say anything, something bursts out from the ground near the wall. It was another Light Capsule!
"Everyone, look! It's the final Light Capsule! So it was here after all!" Cecilia pointed and exclaimed as X walked over the capsule just as a hologram of Dr. Light appeared before them.
"X, if you have found this capsule, then it appears that you've found all the other capsules. Now you are ready to receive the final upgrade." Dr. Light said "In this capsule contains a new type of body armor which will reduce all damage to your systems by 50%. Once combined with the other armor pieces, you will be able to receive the Light Armor. Step in the capsule and receive your final upgrade, son." Just as before, X enters the capsule as a light glowed around him while receiving Dr. Light's final armor upgrade. As his other armor pieces appears around him along with the body armor, they all came together on X's body where his chest is now white, gold and blue. Once everything was complete, X steps out of the capsule with a full Light Armor set.
"We did it, X-kun! We've found all the Light Capsules and got all the Light Armor parts!" Charlotte cheered as she jumped for joy.
"Oh yeah! Now we can finally take the fight to Sigma once we've dealt with his remaining Maverick Generals! They won't know what hit them!" Ling grinned as she gave X a thumbs up.
"Yeah, you're both right. Now we're ready for whatever Sigma and his forces has in store for us." X stared at his hands with a heroic smile. "And with this armor set from Dr. Light, we might be able to defeat Vile the next time we see him… No, I know we'll defeat Vile with this armor set! And destroy Sigma with this armor!"
"Yeah, that's all well and good, but how are we going to get out of here? The only way out is still blocked and we have no idea what that armor even does. So how are we going to reach Sting Chameleon if we're still stuck here?" Yamaneko asked with a frown until there was noise from outside of the boulders. Just then, the boulders were blasted away to reveal Jack and Tia.
"Knock, knock. Is anyone home?" Jack Corvus asked in a joking manner.
"Hey, it's you guys again! You came to save us!" Yayoi cheered.
"Yeah, your commander Zero had your friends contact us when they noticed you were trapped. So we came as fast as we could to free you guys from this cave." Queen Tia said with a smile. "So I'm assuming that you guys are trying to find Sting Chameleon?"
"Yes, we are. X led us here because he detected a Light Capsule. But when we arrived, an RT-55J ambushed us and took our friend hostage." Storm Eagle explained to them "But we were able to destroy it and save our friend from its clutches. Not only that, the last Light Capsule revealed itself and X was able to receive his final upgrade from his creator. Now all that's left to do is find Sting Chameleon and put an end to his actions."
"In that case, come with us. We can lead to his lair and help you fight him. Just make sure you all stay close to us, it's going to me more treacherous on the way to him." Jack Corvus advised.
"Very well. Then let us move forward…" Otome smiled eerily as everyone nodded in agreement and exited the area and headed for the cave.
Thanks to Jack Corvus and Queen Tia, our heroes navigated through the dangerous cave filled with boulders and boulder Mavericks, but it was no trouble for the Hunters. They've even trekked through a swamp section where they have to fly over or relied on Ride Armor to get through. They've encountered more Maverick Soldiers along the way, but they got through them with no problem. Eventually, they've reached the door leading to Sting Chameleon's lair.
"This is it. The entrance to Sting Chameleon's lair. Once we're inside, there's no going back until we take out Sting Chameleon. Is everyone ready?" X asked his friends as they all nodded in agreement. "Alright, then let's go." The X-Squad, Storm Eagle, Jack Corvus and Queen Tia all entered through the doors, only to find themselves in a room filled with trees and foliage.
"So where is that Sting Chameleon guy? You sure he isn't just some coward?" Yamaneko asked as she tapped her foot.
Maverick Confrontation Music plays
"Who are you calling a coward, little girl? That's just rude!" An annoying voice laughed as rainbow colors appeared, revealing a green humanoid chameleon Reploid climbing down from the foliage. "Nyah hah ha! Welcome! I've been expecting you lot!" As he looked around the ground until he noticed Storm Eagle and gasped. "S-Storm Eagle?! W-What are you doing with those humans and that human loving Reploid, X?! Have you turned traitor on us?!"
"Sorry to disappoint you, but I am a Maverick Hunter now, Sting Chameleon." Storm Eagle frowned as he crossed his arms. "Thanks to X and his friends, I was able to break from his control and make up for my actions. Sigma is just using us so he can take over the omniverse for his own selfish gain to make a world for Reploids. So I'd advise you to leave his army and join the Maverick Hunters."
"S-Silence, traitor! You will regret betraying Lord Sigma!" Sting Chameleon growled and stomped his feet in fury. "Lord Sigma will punish you for your treachery and I will never join forces with those ungrateful humans!"
"It figures as much… He's just like the others…" X sighed as he readies his X-Buster. "Then you leave us with no other choice but to destroy you! Sigma with never win and the omniverse will never fall in his clutches!"
"That's Master Sigma to you, X! Soon, he'll be the king when the new world his born! So you fools had better treat him with respect!" Sting Chameleon mocked.
"Not on your life, you psycho! We're not going to let Sigma have his way with the omniverse!" Ling shouted angrily. "We've dealt with Mavericks like you, so we'll make quick work out of you!"
"Oh, you think so? Then I'd like to see you try! Nya hahaha! Let's see how you can fight what you can't see!" Sting Chameleon laughed as he turned invisible.
MegaMan X and the X-Squad vs Sting Chameleon (Maverick Boss Theme plays)
"Careful! He's not kidding about his ability to turn invisible!" Queen Tia warned as everyone got ready. Otome was scanning the area and she said Sting Chameleon about to strike X.
"Behind you…" She pointed, X was confused but he understood what she's trying to say and fired a Storm Tornado at Sting Chameleon, making him turn visible for a moment.
"Nya?! You saw right through me?!" Sting Chameleon gawked before growling softly. "Well then, try this on for size!" He leaped up and used his tongue to grab onto the roots of the trees and started shaking them, making spiked thorns fall from the ceiling.
"Watch out!" Jack Corvus warned as everyone dodged it.
"Take this, you foul chameleon!" Cecilia yelled as she fired her assault rifle at the Maverick General, giving him medium damage.
"Ouch!" Sting Chameleon glared at the IS girls. "Not bad for 5 ancient IS pilots where the IS met its downfall at the Phantom Virus Outbreak! But can you handle this?! Nyahaha!" He flung spikes from his tail at our heroes, but they dodged it.
"Let's go, Rising Heart!" Nanoha yelled as she fired Rising Heart's energy blasts at Sting Chameleon, giving him medium damage.
"Thunder Smasher!" Fate charged Bardiche up with electricity and slashed Sting Chameleon three times, giving him medium damage. Jessie fired her dual revolvers at the evil Maverick General, giving him medium damage.
"Ouch! That hurt, ya know!" Sting Chameleon growled. "Chameleon Sting!" He fired energy blasts from his mouth at our heroes, but like before they dodged it.
"Hey Sting Chameleon! Let's settle this with our blades!" Dancho yelled as she charged towards Sting Chameleon, intending to slash him.
"Iron Tongue!" Sting Chameleon yelled as he clashed with Dancho for 50 seconds until Dancho won the duel with four slashes from her sword.
"Eat this, Chameleon!" Houki yelled as she slashed Sting Chameleon 5 times with Marino's help.
"Storm Tornado!" Storm Eagle fired his attack at Sting Chameleon who leaped out of the way.
"Hey, no fair dodging our attacks!" Akiwo charged towards Sting Chameleon and gave him a wallop of a punch. Miyabi also added in a hair swipe towards Sting Chameleon, giving him medium damage.
"Ugh!" Sting Chameleon growled as Yameneko fired her rocket launcher at Sting Chameleon followed by ice attacks from Kakka. "Time to take it up a notch!" Sting Chameleon turned invisible.
"Over there…" Otome pointed towards Sting Chameleon's new location.
"Thanks, Otome!" Ling smiled as she charged towards Sting Chameleon and gave him a drop kick, knocking him to the ground. Charlotte charged towards Sting Chameleon and thrust her spear at him two times, giving him medium damage.
"Eat this!" Laura growled as she charged towards Sting Chameleon and slashed him four times with her greatsword. Renkin and Tekken combined their attacks to give him double damage. Runo fired his pistols at Sting Chameleon, giving him medium damage as well. Queen Tia and Jack Corvus combined their attacks to give the evil Maverick General even more damage.
"Eat some fists!" Hifumi yelled as she socked Sting Chameleon in the face. Sakuya fired her guns at Sting Chameleon, giving him large damage.
X charged up his X-Buster. Sting Chameleon noticed it and started to panic. "W-Wait! I'm sorry I left the Maverick Hunters! Please let me live!"
"Not a chance, Sting Chameleon!" X yelled as he turned to the IS girls who nodded in agreement with X's response. "Charged shot!" He fired the charged shot at Sting Chameleon, destroying him. Sting Chameleon screamed in agony as he exploded, reduced to scrap metal.
Whew… Glad that's over and done with. He was really giving us trouble with that invisibly of his, but we were able to win in the end." Fate said with a smile.
"Maybe, but don't get overconfident just yet. There's still three more Maverick Generals to contend with and they won't make it easy for us." Storm Eagle told her with a serious frown "We're nearing the end of this war, so these last three will be the ones that will push us to our limits."
"True, but that hasn't stopped us before. We've made it this far by working together as a team, so we'll keep going until we can put an end to Sigma's plans." Houki nodded.
"And speaking of which, I think it's high time for you and Marino to receive Sting Chameleon's powers, X. You'll be needing it for whatever the last three Maverick Generals have in store for you and your friends." Jack Corvus said as he gestured to both Reploids in question.
Both X and Marino nodded as they walked over to Sting Chameleon's remains and touched them to receive his powers. Once that was done, X turns his armor green and aims his X-Buster at the wall before shouting "Chameleon Sting!" and fires Sting Chameleon's attack.
Marino, on the other hand, gains two new blades instead of just one and both resembles Asuka's Green Willow and Red Blossom from Senran Kagura as everyone were amazed what they surprised to see her gaining two new weapons. Deciding to test them out, she takes her position and concentrates as her blades activates and glows in a purple color. Once she opens her eyes, she shouted "Shinobi Art: Iron Sting" where she crosses her blades in front of her and dashes forward as she unleashes a barrages of slashes before finishing off by slamming both blades into the ground and causes sharp rocks to rise up.
"Whoa! That was just amazing! How did you even do that?" Ling gasped in awe as her eyes widened in excitement.
"I'm not entirely sure, but it just came to me. Like with the blade I received from Spark Mandrill, I feel like I was meant to receive it." Marino told her as she paused to think. "But what that even means, I'm still at a lost right now. Hopefully something will come up and will reveal everything to me."
"Yeah, but until then, let's just be glad that we're getting closer to the end of this war. Once this is done, we'll see if we can find any clues to not only who created you, but also gave you your weapons." Jessie said with a grin as she places her hand on Marino's shoulder.
"And we've also got you two to thank for helping us with Sting Chameleon. If you haven't freed us from that trap, Sigma might've won and the entire omniverse would be at his mercy." Houki said in gratitude "So thank you for your help on not just our mission, but saving Tetsuro from the Gokoh Five." She bows to them until she takes a closer look at them and noticed how identical they look to their friends Jerry and Sophie. 'Hold on… They look like Jerry and Sophie! But that can't be right! They're still at HQ! They couldn't be one and the same, could they?'
"It's not a problem. We're just glad to help in making sure those idiots learn a very harsh lesson." Queen Tia smiled "Just know that if you're ever in a pinch, we'll be there to back you up. And who knows? You might find us at the end of this war and help you put an end to Sigma. So keep up the fight and win this war for the sake of not just this world, but the entire omniverse as well. See you next time, Maverick Hunters." She lifts up her wand as a light shines from it that forces everyone to cover their eyes. Once the light had died, they were gone.
"And with our mission complete, it's time for us to return to Maverick HQ. With this war almost over, I can definitely fell it and the good guys are winning." Storm Eagle said with a smile, but in his thoughts. 'I just hope we can end this war before Sigma completes Project Wolf's Bane… Otherwise, if he manages to complete it, then it's game over for us.'
"Yeah, you're right, Storm Eagle. There's only three Maverick Generals left, so we'll need to be ready for anything." X nodded with a smile. "We might be able to convince some of them to our side, but there's no doubt they'll refuse and we'll have to fight them. But for right now, let's rest up for our next mission. We'll be needing all of our strength for what comes our way."
"Yeah!" The gang all nodded in agreement as they were warped out of the room.
With only three Maverick Generals left, the war is nearing its conclusion with the army of good winning. But there's no telling what Sigma has in store for them and they haven't heard a peep out from the X Foundation since recruiting Storm Eagle. What could they be planning and can our heroes stop Sigma before it's too late?
