Okay, here's our new new mystery: Was Skip the man at the meeting?

Buddy, Evelyn, and I just made it to City Hall. Like Evelyn said, she's waiting outside, while Buddy and I head inside to talk to Skip directly.

"Hi, Mayor Rogers." Buddy greeted to Skip, wo was sitting at his desk. "We'd like a moment of your time." I finished.

"Certainly. What can I do for you, citizens?"

I said, "I assume you're aware of the fact that Evelyn Gray's apartment was ransacked." "Yes, a sorry business. To think that could happen to my precious city."

Buddy and I exchanged looks and I continued, "Oh, we think you know more than you letting on, Skip." "What? Certainly not. What are you implying?" "We're implying you met with the burglars in the forest this afternoon." "What? You can't prove that. I'm the mayor!" "Oh, we'll see about that. C'mon, Buddy."

We left City Hall and made our way to the park forest.

"Hey, Aaron, what are we looking for?" "Anything Skip must've thrown away or lost when he was at the meeting. Anything can work as proof, so find something that shouldn't be here in the forest."

Buddy and I looked for a while, but didn't find anything.

A minute after that, my eyes landed on a trashcan. Being the agent I am now, I looked inside, and in there were some old coffee cups and, an empty allergy inhaler?

"Buddy, come check this out." He came over and I showed him the inhaler.

This could be Skip's, but how can I be sure? Ooh, I know. Time to try this out.

"*pulls out phone and calls Roxie* Hey, Roxie, could you analyze this inhaler? See if you can tell who it belongs to, or what allergy it's for."

I pressed a few buttons then scanned the inhaler with my phone. After a bit, Roxie said, "The inhaler is for a rare allergy to dandelions. Also, based on hair analysis, the last person to use it probably had a beard." "Thanks, Roxie. *hangs up*"

"Hey, Mayor Rogers has a beard!" "Right you are, Buddy. This could belong to Skip, but we need to make sure. And to do that, *sees Poppy playing with Dogwood* we need dandelions."

We went to Poppy and I asked her, "Hey, Poppy, do you know where we can find some dandelions?" "Of course! You can find some in my flower stands. Help yourselves!" "Cool, thanks."

A minute or two later, at City Hall...

We found some dandelions at Poppy's flower stands. Now to try some on Skip.

"Hey, Skip," I said, getting his attention, "we got you some flowers!"

Buddy and I each pulled out a dandelion and at the same time blew them into Skip's face. Yes! He sneezed!

"Aha! You do have flower allergies!" Buddy said. "That proves nothing!" "I beg to differ," I said, "The inhaler we found where the meeting took place matches your rare allergy. You were there, Skip." "I lost that inhaler weeks ago! Besides, I was at Gino's during the break-in." "Oh yeah? We'll have to confirm your alibi then. We'll be riiiight back."

We left City Hall.

We need to find out what time the break-in was.

Buddy and I split up to find out what time the break-in was.

I'm at Evelyn's apartment, looking for anything that could help me out, while Buddy's at Gino's to ask when Skip was there.

Let's see, what can- Hey, a grandfather clock. Looks like the burglar broke it. Luckily, that made the hands freeze, showing the exact time of the break-in: 7:02 p.m.; dinnertime.

I then headed out of the apartment and back to City Hall.

Hearing footsteps behind me, I turned to see Buddy. When he caught up to me, I said, "Hey, Buddy." "Hi, Aaron. Find anything?"

"Yep. In the apartment, the burglar broke Evelyn's clock and it froze the hands, showing that the break-in happened at dinnertime. What'd you find out?"

"I couldn't find anything. Gino said that it was too busy yesterday and that he couldn't remember when he came in." "Did he remember anything about Skip being there?" "Um...Oh yeah! Gino said that he had a large vanilla clam pizza. He couldn't finish it, so he took some leftovers back to his office!" "Leftovers? Nice work, Buddy!"

We made it back to City Hall and when we were in Skip's office, he wasn't here. Perfect.

We started looking around for Skip's leftovers.

"Buddy, I found them!" I said pulling out my phone and calling Roxie, "Roxie, could you analyze this pizza slice? We want to know how old it is."

I hit a few buttons then scanned the pizza. A bit later, Roxie said, "It looks like that slice was freshly baked yesterday at lunchtime." "Thanks, Roxie." I then hung up.

"Buddy, do you know what this means? Skip ate at Gino's at lunch," "But the break-in happened at dinnertime!"

"The alibi doesn't match!" we both said.

"Skip was the man at the meeting! Go get Evelyn and tell her the good news."

Almost a minute later...

Skip just entered the office.

"Hello again, Skip." I said, turning around in his office chair, sunglasses on.

At the same time, Buddy and Evelyn came in.

"What?" he said, "You again?! I've already told you everything I know."

"Yep. Only problem was, nothing you said was true. So, let's try this again."

"What?! You better have proof, making accusations like that!"

"Oh, we have proof." "According to your alibi," said Buddy, "you had dinner at Gino's yesterday, but we know that's not true."

"You were at Gino's yesterday, but for lunch!" I said, "Our forensic scientists tracked the development of mold colonies on your leftover pizza."

"What?" said Skip, surprised, "You did...science...on my pizza?!"

"Yep*pop*" I said, "It pegs the pizza's cooking time to 12:30 p.m., Lunchtime."

"Plus or minus two minutes." Buddy followed.

Evelyn then said, "And they know you received my father's journal because they found your inhaler at the drop-off site!"

"Ah, I see..." he said, before facing all of us, "Look, here's what I know,...Yes, Morcubus wanted that journal. He needed as much information as possible on the whereabouts of a man who used to work for Evelyn's father."

"What?! Who is he? What does he know about my dad?!"

"I don't know. I just know his initials are P.W.. And now Morcubus has tracked him down to the mountains."

"(to Aaron)The maps, pal!" "This P.W. could be in danger."

"We've got to get to him before Morcubus!" Evelyn said.

I got up from the desk and said, "Evelyn, Buddy,...let's go."

I switched back on my glasses and adjusted them.

"It's time to fire up the jet."
