The Chosen Ones: Chapter 1

-Sunnydale, The Master's Cave, June 2, 1997-

Buffy felt the sharp pain from the Master's bite as he sank his fangs into her neck to feed on her blood.

The blonde Slayer was devastated because of what the Master had told her. If she had ignored the prophecy, this wouldn't be happening to her. She would still be alive instead of dying in this damp, dank cave, and the Master would stay trapped in his dimensional prison.

Everything started to grow dim around Buffy, and she couldn't feel the pain in her neck anymore. Just a cold, numb feeling filling her body. Her only thoughts were of her mom and her friends.

Would they be okay, and did she doom the world by being a stupid girl.

Suddenly, Buffy was falling, and there was a feeling of water against her face. The last thing she heard was a faint evil chuckle and a comment about her dress before everything went black.

\\\\\\\

-Purgatory-

Buffy slowly woke up and felt that she was lying on a bed. It was a very comfortable bed. Then she remembered what had happened. But there was no more pain or cold numbness since waking up.

Buffy opened her eyes as she sat up and instantly noticed that she was naked. Then she started panicking and grabbed the blanket to cover herself.

The 16-year-old girl frantically looked around for clothes but couldn't find any.

' I need clothes. I don't want to be naked!' Buffy quickly thought to herself, and then there they were.

In front of her was a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, but that was it. There was no bra or underwear.

'Great, no bra or panties. I need a bra and panties.' Buffy thought to herself, and then they appeared.

After quickly getting dressed, the blonde girl looked around and saw that she was in a studio-type apartment. The whole room had hints of an otherworldly off-white color to it.

Buffy saw a few windows, two doors, and a kitchen area with a table and chairs. There was a couch with a coffee table in front of it, a big TV with a DVD player under it, and an overstuffed chair that looked very comfortable. The bed she had woken up on was full-sized.

When the blue-eyed girl looked out one of the windows, she saw nothing but an empty void of the same off-white color. Then she walked to the door that she figured was the front door.

After unlocking it and opening it up, all Buffy could see was the same empty and vast void of off-white. Then she closed the door and locked it while wondering where she was.

Buffy tried the other door and saw a bathroom. Upon seeing the toilet, she realized that she had to pee.

After emptying her bladder, the blonde Slayer noticed that there wasn't any toilet paper.

'Great, how am I going to wipe? I need toilet paper to wipe!' Buffy thought to herself in frustration, and then a roll of toilet paper appeared.

She sighed in relief and quickly finished her business.

After leaving the bathroom, Buffy went to the kitchen to look around.

The teenage girl saw that all the cabinets and drawers were empty. When she opened the refrigerator, it was empty, too. Then she remembered how everything appeared when she mentally said she needed it.

'I need a bottle of cold apple juice.' Buffy firmly thought to herself, and like before, it appeared. "Ha, I knew it!" She triumphantly said before grabbing her juice and drinking it.

The blue-eyed girl figured out that she was dead and reasoned that she was here as a punishment for dying to the Master and dooming her world.

Buffy spent the rest of the day experimenting with the room and discovered that the TV worked, but there were no channels. She did figure out that she could mentally need any TV series to watch, with them appearing in DVD box sets a moment later.

With not much else to do while here, the teenage girl decided to catch up on all the TV shows she missed out on because of everything that she had to deal with since becoming the Slayer.

Buffy was relieved that she could mentally need a full meal so she didn't have to cook because she could burn water, as her mother so lovingly told her many times before.

When the blonde Slayer stubbed her toe on the coffee table, she discovered that it barely hurt. She concluded that the place she was in dulled any pain she was supposed to feel.

Before going to bed that night, Buffy mentally required a calendar. She wanted to keep track of how long she had been here for.

-Little Hangleton, Graveyard, June 24, 1995-

Harry was exhausted and in a lot of pain from everything he had to deal with in the maze for the third task of the Triwizard Tournament. Getting his left arm cut by that traitor Wormtail and the two Cruciatus curses courtesy of the newly reborn Voldemort certainly didn't help either.

Voldemort was the insane dark lord who murdered Harry's parents on Halloween when he was 15 months old and countless others. He was also now forcing the green-eyed boy to duel him.

Surrounding them both in the graveyard were the Death Eaters, Voldemort's loyal and sycophant followers. They loved to torture and kill all those that they saw beneath them, and some of them even enjoyed raping their victims too.

Harry saw Voldemort start to cast the killing curse. So he quickly reacted and cast the disarming charm. Their spells moved toward each other and then flew past each other.

Voldemort dodged, and the insane dark lord's killing curse impacted Harry's chest.

The teenage boy blinked because all he felt was a simple impact, like getting hit with a small styrofoam ball. He was utterly shocked that he wasn't dead and couldn't understand why.

Harry heard exclamations of that's impossible. But before he could react, he heard a shout from Voldemort and saw another spell coming at him that definitely wasn't the killing curse this time.

Harry tried moving out of the way. But he was tired and in pain. It didn't help that he twisted his ankle because of the Acromantula that attacked him in the maze. Because of all these factors, the raven-haired wizard couldn't move fast enough to dodge the deadly-looking spell moving quickly toward him.

The last thing Harry saw was the spell speeding toward him before everything went dark.

Harry never knew that an explosive curse had hit him and made his body explode. In fact, it looked like someone had popped a balloon that was crammed full of chunky tomato soup.

-Purgatory-

It has been over two months since Buffy found herself trapped in what she figured out was Purgatory, and she has made herself a daily routine.

Wake up, take care of her morning needs, exercise, shower, and eat breakfast. Then she watched TV until lunchtime, had lunch, and practiced hand-to-hand fighting techniques and weapons training. She showered and ate dinner. Then, she either listened to music while reading or watched TV until going to bed.

'Giles would be so proud of me if he saw me reading a book. But he would also be disappointed if he saw me reading comic books.' Buffy thought to herself while she was reading a book called Jurassic Park.

She remembered Willow talking about it on one of the nights when she slept over at the redhead's house.

After figuring out how this place worked, it was easy for Buffy to exercise and train when she could just mentally request any exercise machine or weapon she wanted. She also did the same for an expensive-looking stereo system and CDs too.

'Giles would be so proud of how I got better with the crossbow and a normal bow. Willow would be happy I read a book she had recommended, and Xander would be excited that I actually read a comic book.' Buffy thought to herself as she continued reading, but then her reading was interrupted by a flash of light.

The blonde Slayer reacted quickly and let go of the book as a sword appeared in her hand. She was on her feet and ready to attack with the sword before the book hit the floor.

Buffy looked at where the flash of light came from. She blinked and blinked again. Then she felt herself start blushing.

The blue-eyed girl saw a bed that was just like hers, except on this bed, there was a teenage boy who appeared unconscious and naked.

Buffy was shocked because she had tried before, but this place couldn't make people like it could everything else, not even a cat, which she had tried.

After lowering the sword, she moved closer to get a look at the naked boy and purposely looked at his face first to be respectful. But she could still see certain and interesting parts of his anatomy out of the corner of her eye.

Buffy saw he looked about a year or so younger than herself. He had messy raven-black hair that looked like a windswept bird's nest, and she thought it suited him. He had a scar on his forehead above his right eye shaped like a lightning bolt that was light red.

The teenage girl thought that the mystery boy was a hottie.

Going lower, she saw that he had slightly toned muscles. She concluded they were from playing sports and not actual training with exercise equipment.

Buffy saw what looked to be a scar from a cut on his left forearm that was about five inches long going down his forearm. On his right upper arm was a rather large scar in a circle shape that she thought might have come from a puncture wound. She could see the beginning of another scar on his left shoulder and wondered how far it went down his back. Then, the blue-eyed girl let her eyes look lower.

'Yep, he's definitely a boy.' Buffy thought to herself while unconsciously licking her lips and feeling her vagina growing wet with arousal.

From what she saw compared to what she had heard from other girls, this mysterious and hot boy was large for his age.

Going lower, Buffy saw more scarring on his lower left leg that looked like a bite mark. That was all she saw, so her eyes quickly moved back to between the mystery boy's legs.

The teenage girl stared there for a few long moments while licking her lips again before having the place put clothes on him, even underwear.

Buffy saw that he was now wearing jeans and a long-sleeved shirt.

'I wonder who he is and how he got all those scars. He has more than I do, and I'm a Slayer.' Buffy thought to herself and hoped that he wasn't evil or dangerous. 'It would be nice to talk to someone, especially an extremely hot boy.' She thought to herself in an afterthought.

When Buffy first arrived in Purgatory, her head was full of thoughts about her mom, Giles, and her friends. She missed them and was worried about them. However, the blue-eyed girl was surprised when she first thought of Angel since arriving here. She also realized that she didn't have feelings for him anymore like she did when she was alive.

Angel was 26 when he first became a vampire and was over 200 years old as a vampire.

Soon, Buffy started to wonder why she had even kissed him or was trying to date him in the first place. He was still a vampire, regardless of the fact that he had a soul or not. After all, prisons are full of evil people with souls.

The blonde Slayer couldn't figure out why she was trying to pursue someone so much older than herself. She thought he was a pervert for wanting to be with a 16-year-old high school girl who was also a virgin.

Angel was technically dead, and Buffy definitely wasn't a necrophiliac. It had greatly grossed her out that she had kissed him.

'I wonder if the cute boy is single because he looks awfully yummy.' Buffy thought to herself as she sat on the overstuffed chair and waited for him to wake up. 'I hope I can see him naked again.' She thought to herself as an afterthought.

The mystery boy didn't wake up for the rest of the day or the next morning.

\\\\\\\

It was about noon when Buffy saw that the cute boy had started to stir. She quickly got up from the chair, sword in hand but holding it facing down.

Harry slowly regained consciousness, and he felt incredible.

There was no pain, and the raven-haired felt lighter now. Like something was weighing him down, but it was now gone. He noticed that he could think much more clearly and quickly. He also felt that he was lying on a bed.

Time with the Dursleys and living in Gryffindor Tower with the Weasley twins made him much more aware of what was around him, so Harry knew he wasn't alone wherever he was.

He opened his eyes and blinked. Then he blinked again.

Harry was confused because he could see clearly. But he couldn't feel his glasses on his face, so he reached up to check anyway.

'Huh, I'm definitely not wearing my glasses. And yet, I can see perfectly fine. I'm not going to complain about this, though.' Harry thought to himself before sitting up and taking in his surroundings.

The 14-year-old wizard saw that he was in a studio apartment, but the coloring of everything was off. He then looked at who was in this strange place with him.

Harry thought she was breathtakingly beautiful.

She looked about a year or so older than him. She was about 5'3" and was very petite with 33-23-33 measurements, weighed about 112 pounds, and had medium-sized B-cup breasts. Her hair was wavy and ended about five inches past her shoulders. It was golden-blonde, which looked great with her electric-blue eyes and pretty face.

Harry also noticed the sword in her hand pointed at the ground.

'I really wish I had my wand right about now.' Harry thought to himself.

He was surprised when he felt it in his hand, but the connection to his wand felt off. It felt like it would barely work for him now.

Harry frowned and looked down at his wand. He saw it was his wand, but something wasn't right with it. Then he looked up at the girl.

"Hello, who are you, and where am I?" Harry curiously asked the beautiful girl in front of him with a friendly voice and smile.

He was trying to appear non-threatening to the hot girl holding a sword.

"I'm Buffy Summers, and I think we are in Purgatory." Buffy replied while smiling. "Who are you?" She asked the cute boy in front of her.

She noticed he had a British accent, which she liked much more than Giles'. His emerald-green eyes and his voice with an accent made her tingly between her legs. She also noticed the weird-looking stake that had appeared in his hand, then how he frowned when he looked down at it. Like there was something wrong with it.

The raven-haired boy heard the American accent in her lovely voice and thought it suited her. He did wonder why he was in Purgatory and not with his parents.

"I'm Harry Potter." Harry casually replied.

He was waiting for the usual glance at his forehead but noticed she never looked at it, which made him sigh in relief.

'Am I being punished for not defeating Voldemort?' He thought to himself.

"Nice to meet you, Harry." Buffy told him with a perky voice while smiling at him. "What was with the sigh? Am I boring you or something?" She asked the hot boy with the most impressive set of green eyes that she had ever seen.

They looked like emeralds to her, and the 16-year-old girl knew that she could get lost in those eyes if she wasn't careful.

"I was just relieved you didn't look straight at my scar when I said my name is all. Everyone does it when they find out who I am. Also, I won't hurt you unless you try hurting me. So you can put the sword away." Harry replied while looking at the pretty girl.

He laid his wand on the nightstand next to the bed and stood up.

Buffy's Slayer senses were telling her that this boy was powerful. In fact, they were saying that Harry was a lot more powerful than she was. She also realized that his power wasn't something she hadn't sensed before since she became a Slayer.

The blue-eyed girl's senses also informed her that Harry was telling the truth when he said he would only attack to defend himself. So, she allowed the sword to fade away before speaking.

"Why would anyone want to look at your scar after hearing your name? Also, which scar are you talking about because you have more than one?" Buffy asked the boy standing in front of her, and she noticed he was about an inch or so taller than her.

She saw him look at her with confusion before looking surprised and happy.

"Huh, It's nice to meet a witch who doesn't know my name. I guess you didn't hear of me then in America, or perhaps you might recognize the names The Boy Who Lived or Voldemort. I know America's magical community has changed since the Grindelwald War. But I was always told everyone in the wizarding world knew my name. It is quite refreshing to meet someone who hasn't." Harry replied while smiling.

Buffy could see how happy he was about meeting someone who didn't know who he was.

"I'm not a witch. I'm a Slayer, and what's the wizarding world? Also, who is the Boy Who Lived, Voldemort, and Grindelwald?" Buffy said while wondering who those people were that he had mentioned.

She also heard the anger in his voice when he said Voldemort.

"I'm the Boy Who Lived. It's what everyone in the magical world calls me because of what happened when I was a baby. Voldemort is the Dark Lord who murdered my parents. He also tried to kill me several times before finally succeeding. And Grindelwald was a Dark Lord who started a global Wizarding War during World War 2." Harry told the beautiful blonde girl while looking at her. "What is a Slayer?" He curiously asked with a tilt of his head. "Also, What did you mean by my scars? I was talking about the one on my forehead. How did you see the others?" He said as an afterthought.

The raven-haired boy was wondering what a Slayer was while he was answering her questions. He saw Buffy blush a little when he asked her how she knew about his other scars. He knew he was wearing jeans and a long-sleeved shirt and was curious how she knew about them.

"Sorry about your parents, Harry." Buffy told him with sadness in her eyes. "I'm a Slayer, as in, The Vampire Slayer. The one girl in all the world with the strength and power to kill vampires and demons. Also, I know that magic is real because I've experienced it before." She said while looking at him. "When you appeared here yesterday, you were on that bed. But you were also naked. So after taking a closer look to see if you were okay, I had this place put clothes on you." She told Harry and tried to stop herself from blushing as she remembered exactly how he looked naked and how much she liked what she saw.

Buffy wasn't going to mention that she had shown up here naked, too.

"I've never heard of a Slayer when we studied vampires at Hogwarts." Harry said while stretching. "Vampires don't bother wizards and witches too much. Because it's easy for us to kill them using fire spells or the Solaris versions of Lumos. They usually just keep to themselves. I've never heard of demons, though, and we never covered them in Defense Against the Dark Arts class at Hogwarts." He told Buffy while looking at her.

Before the blonde Slayer could respond, the green-eyed wizard started talking again.

"Thank you for checking on me and for the clothes." Harry said while grinning.

After spending several months having sex with Fleur and sometimes with her friend, he wasn't as shy around girls as he once was.

"If this place made them, it might work like the RoR then." Harry said as an afterthought.

"Wait, you actually studied vampires and magic at a school? I've never heard of Hogwarts, but I can see how using magic to kill vampires is easy. I have to fight them physically to kill them, which can be annoying. Because when they die, they turn to dust, and that stupid dust gets everywhere. What is the RoR you mentioned?" Buffy said before moving to sit at the kitchen table, with her senses telling her he was following her.

Harry followed the beautiful girl to the kitchen table and enjoyed the view of her little heart-shaped butt. Then he sat at the table and did what he had to do in the Room of Requirement to get a mug of butterbeer.

Harry was happy to see it appear and took a sip before telling the blue-eyed girl about Hogwarts. He also explained how, during his fourth year, Dobby showed him the Room of Requirement because of the tournament and how the magical room worked.

Buffy was impressed to hear about the school and all the classes she knew Willow would have loved to take. She also thought that Giles would spend all his time in the library.

After explaining things, he brought up something she had mentioned earlier.

"What did you mean vampires turn to dust? They leave a body like everyone else does when they die." Harry said with confusion while slightly tilting his head to the side.

Buffy was surprised by his explanation of Hogwarts. Because it sounded like something Giles would have known about and mentioned when they had to deal with Amy's mom. She suspected something when he told her how the vampires died, and she was pretty sure she was right. Xander would be so proud that she had figured it out because of the comic books she had read.

"Harry, what do your vampires look like, and what weaknesses do they have?" Buffy asked, wanting to confirm her suspicion.

The raven-haired wizard gave the blue-eyed Slayer a curious look before shrugging and replying.

"They look like everyone else. They are stronger and faster than normal people, though. Weakness-wise, they are vulnerable to fire, decapitation, sunlight, and a wooden stake through the heart, but that is it." Harry casually replied before taking another sip of his butterbeer.

"That's what the vampires I deal with look like, except they are paler, too. They look like normal people most of the time. But they also have a demon face they switch to feed with and fight in. Also, the vampires I deal with are vulnerable to that same stuff. But also garlic, crosses, and holy water." Buffy said while getting closer to confirming her suspicions.

"That is odd. The vampires I learned about aren't like that, and I would have read if there were other types when I did the essay on vampires." Harry said while wondering why he never heard of the vampires Buffy fought against.

"Harry, have you ever heard of Marvel or DC comics, Star Wars, or Star Trek?" Buffy eagerly asked while looking at the hot teenage boy across from her.

She was positive her theory was correct and wanted to test it.

"I've heard of Marvel and Dark Horse comics, but not DC. I heard of Star Wars and Galaxy Quest, but not Star Trek. Why do you ask?" Harry replied before taking a sip of his butterbeer and looking around the kitchen.

He was about to take another sip and stopped when he saw the calendar on the fridge, which didn't make sense. Then he spoke up before Buffy could respond to his question.

"Buffy, was that calendar there? Or did you put it up?" Harry asked with worry in his voice.

Hearing Harry's answers confirmed her suspicions. The teenage girl was about to respond when she saw him stop mid-sip and stare at the calendar with a look of shock when she heard him ask about it.

"I put it up when I first got here, and I have been here for a little over two months now." Buffy casually replied. "Why do you ask?" She asked while wondering why the calendar was freaking him out.

"Because it was the 24th of June 1995 when Voldemort killed me, and according to that calendar, it's the 15th of August 1997. How were you here before me if I died before you did?" Harry replied while looking at the blonde Slayer, curious about how this happened.

He could tell that Buffy was being honest about the calendar and with him so far.

"Harry, I died June 2nd, 1997. But I think I might know why you got here after me, even though you died first. It's because we both came from different Earths. It's the only thing that makes sense." Buffy told him while looking into his emerald-green eyes.

She was no longer bothered by the fact that she had died. She was just worried about what happened after she had died.

After getting over the fact that Buffy had confirmed she died before him and the odd order of arrival, the 14-year-old wizard spoke up.

"What do you mean different Earths? It sounds like you are talking about alternate realities." Harry started telling the gorgeous girl. But he stopped when he said the last part as everything started making sense. "You think the Multiverse is real, like in Marvel Comics? That would explain the differences in the vampires, us not hearing about each other even though we both know about and deal with the supernatural world. It would also account for the time differences between our arriving here." He said before taking a sip of his butterbeer while reeling from the shock of what they just found out about the Multiverse being a real thing.

His time with the Dursleys was hard, and he was sheltered a lot, even in the muggle world. But Harry did pick up on things over the years by overhearing others talk about them and when he spoke with some muggle-born. Also, Dudley quickly got rid of his comic books after reading them, so he took them to read during the years and the summers when he was stuck at Privet Drive.

"Yeah, I do, and that is the only thing that makes sense so far." Buffy happily said while smiling. "By the way, what are you drinking? Because it smells and looks delicious." She asked while looking at the mug Harry was holding.

The blue-eyed girl was happy that she had put it together. She was always smarter than she had let on. But for some reason, she couldn't figure out why she wasn't when she was in Sunnydale. Ever since the night right before she first met Angel, she wasn't as clever as she should have been.

Since Buffy had arrived here in Purgatory, she wasn't so focused on Angel anymore and could think more clearly. She had also been reading some school books just to mix things up and could easily understand the things in them as she used to before she first met Angel. She wasn't some super genius like her friend Willow was, but she was good at understanding things when she read about them.

Buffy also enjoyed annoying Giles when she purposely played the dumb blonde valley girl. She and Willow used to laugh about it when they would cuddle during sleepovers while talking. She missed those nights with Willow when they would cuddle and caress each other.

'Do I like girls too?' Buffy thought to herself while feeling a spike of arousal when she thought about those nights in bed with the pretty redhead during their sleepovers.

Being sent to that mental hospital by her mom was also a wake-up call for Buffy. She got sent there because she had told her mom the truth about herself being the Slayer and that vampires were real before they had moved to Sunnydale.

Harry made another butterbeer appear before pushing it toward the cute girl sitting across the table.

"It's called Butterbeer. It is the wizarding world's version of a soft drink and the one of the few they have." Harry casually replied.

He watched Buffy take a sip and smiled as she got her first taste of Butterbeer.

'She has a lovely smile.' Harry thought to himself.

"It tastes like cream soda and butterscotch. It's good, but not something I'd want to drink all the time." Buffy told the raven-haired boy sitting across from her before taking another sip. "Earlier, you said something about a school tournament. What was that about?" She eagerly said with a perky voice while smiling.

The 16-year-old girl was excited to have someone to talk to and hear about another world that actually exists.

"That is a long story. How about we have lunch first, and I can start explaining from the beginning? Otherwise, it won't make any sense. Then you can tell me more about your life as the Slayer." Harry said while hoping to get to know the beautiful blonde better.

"Sure, Harry, why don't you pick lunch? I am curious about what you eat across the pond." Buffy told him in a slightly flirty voice that he had picked up on.

Seeing how it was lunchtime, the British boy decided to go with the classic Fish and Chips for lunch.

After two plates of the requested meal appeared, he grabbed one.

"Fish and Chips it is, then." Harry said while giving her the teasing smile that Fleur liked so much and returning the hint of flirting in his tone.

He saw Buffy grab one of the battered and fried fish strips, then take a bite before humming and continuing to eat.

After finishing lunch, they sat on the couch with each of them, sitting on an end, and turned to face each other.

"In the wizarding world, there are three types of blood status, and certain groups care about that sort of thing. First is what's called Pure-Blood. That means both sets of grandparents and both parents were witches and wizards. A Muggle-Born is a witch or wizard whose parents and both sets of grandparents were muggles, which are what they call non-magical people. Then, in the middle is what's called Half-Blood. That means at least one grandparent or parent was a wizard or witch, but some or all of the rest weren't." Harry told the beautiful girl to explain how wizards and witches stupidly labeled themselves.

"Classifying something like that is just begging for trouble." Buffy commented.

She wholeheartedly believed that after broadening her horizon with all the reading she had done and TV shows she had been watching.

Harry let out a small laugh, and Buffy thought it was cute.

"I am a Half-Blood, my Father was a Pure-Blood, and my mum was a Muggle-Born. Some believe very heavily in blood status, like if you are not a pure-blood, then you are nothing to them. If you are a muggle-born, then they call you Mudblood and believe you have no right to learn about, let alone use magic, and they believe that all muggle-born should be killed or enslaved. They also believe muggles are nothing more than filthy animals." Harry said while seeing the look of horror on her face as he talked about how the pureblood bigots think of others.

"So you had magical Nazis then." Buffy said, letting him know she understood what he was telling her.

"Yeah, and the worst part is the other side isn't much better and sees muggles as simple creatures, like cute animals that aren't a threat. The government is full of people from both sides. The Ministry of Magic has about 80 percent pure-blood employees, with lesser blood status in lower jobs." Harry said to start explaining things. Then he paused to sip his butterbeer. "Before I was born, a Dark Lord was on the loose. He started a war as a Pure-Blood Supremacist Movement. He called himself Lord Voldemort, and he had followers called Death Eaters. Voldemort and his minions went around raping, torturing, and killing muggles, muggle-borns, half-bloods, and even pure-bloods who didn't believe in the Pure-Blood Movement." The green-eyed boy told Buffy before taking another sip of his butterbeer.

"Now, the ministry was filled with his followers, and there was also massive corruption and greed, so Voldemort was winning the war. It didn't help that Voldemort's side was willing to kill, and the Ministry wasn't willing to authorize the Aurors, who are magical police, to use lethal force against the Death Eaters. It also didn't help that those captured could buy their freedom with bribes or claim they were under the Imperius Curse. Which is a form of mind control." Harry said to finish explaining.

He could see that she was horrified by what he had said, and he didn't blame her.

Buffy could see why he was angry about how the government handled the war and how easy it was for Voldemort and his minions to take over. She also noticed that Harry seemed sad about what he would say next.

"So the ministry was losing the war very badly, and Voldemort would have won in a few months. But all of that changed on Halloween in 1981. My parents and my 15-month-old self were hiding under a magical protection called the Fidelius Charm, which makes it so everyone but the secret keeper forgets that the location exists. You couldn't find the house we were hiding in if you didn't know the secret. You could walk right past the house and never know it was there. Only the secret keeper can tell a person the location so they can see the house and enter it. Anyway, on that Halloween night, a friend of my parents that they trusted to be their secret keeper betrayed them of his own free will and told Voldemort the secret." Harry said before pausing because of the anger he felt over the betrayer of his family, but he quickly kept talking.

"Voldemort attacked our house that night and murdered my parents with the Killing Curse. If that spell hits you, then you die instantly. The only way to survive it is by dodging it or having something take it for you, such as a conjured animal or a physical object, like a book or a rock. So, after killing my mother, he pointed his wand at me and cast the killing curse. It hit me on my forehead, but instead of killing me, the spell rebounded on him, destroying his body and causing an explosion. That is how I got the scar on my forehead and the name The Boy Who Lived. Because I survived that curse and defeated Voldemort as a 15-month-old toddler." Harry told the pretty girl sitting across from him, and he could see the sympathy on her face for his loss.

"So you won the war for them, then?" Buffy cautiously asked because she suspected it wasn't just that simple.

The green-eyed wizard let out a sigh and shook his head before answering.

"Have you ever heard of the saying, we won the battle but lost the war?" Harry asked with a resigned look on his face.

Seeing a nod from the golden-blonde Slayer, he continued speaking.

"That's what happened. After that night, several of Voldemort's followers immediately claimed they were under the Imperius Curse while handing over large bags of gold and escaping punishment. There are magical ways to prove if all the actions they committed were forced or done of their own free will. But the Ministry of Magic never used those methods, which are easy and painless to use. So, on that Halloween night, Dumbledore had me pulled straight from my crib by one of his followers who couldn't even use magic. Then he had him take me straight to my Aunt's and Uncle's house. My Aunt is the sister of my mum. There, I spent the next ten years completely ignorant of the magical world, my role in the war, my family's history, and getting worked like a slave and abused." Harry said while looking at Buffy.

The blue-eyed girl heard the anger in Harry's voice when he said Dumbledore and talked about Dumbledore's actions that night and about his Aunt and Uncle.

Buffy moved forward to the middle of the couch so she could get closer to the cute teenage boy. Then she took his hand into her own and gently squeezed it before speaking.

"We don't have to keep talking about this if you don't want to, Harry." Buffy softly said with a friendly tone of voice and a gentle smile while she was looking deeply into his emerald-green eyes. 'I could definitely get lost in those gorgeous eyes of his. I bet they made him very popular with the girls.' She thought to herself as an afterthought.

Harry squeezed her hand back, silently thanking her for the support.

"It's okay. I don't mind talking about it." Harry told the beautiful teenage girl holding his hand. "You know, what's weird? Ever since I woke up here, I have felt different. I can think faster and more clearly than before, which isn't good and means that things were much worse than I thought back in my world." He said before sighing. "Also, while I can remember everything that happened to me, the memories are muted. It's like I watched them on TV instead of living them." He commented as an afterthought.

"What do you mean that it isn't a good thing, Harry?" Buffy asked with confusion and wondered why being able to think more clearly and faster wasn't a good thing.

"Because it means that someone was messing with my mind. Either through spells or potions to purposely make me stupid, weak, and lazy. Now that I think about it, I know who it was. I also have a good idea of why they did it." Harry replied while looking at the beautiful blonde girl and enjoying the feeling of her hand in his.

When he finished speaking, he saw her face rapidly pale, and her hand gripped his tighter.

"Harry, is there a magical way to make you like someone, as in wanting to date them?" Buffy asked the raven-haired wizard with a worried look.

That would explain why she was so into Angel when she was alive. It would also explain why she didn't have those feelings for him anymore now that she is dead. If someone hadn't messed with her mind, she wouldn't have even been Angel's friend, let alone trusted him as much as she did.

When he heard Buffy ask that question, he could see a spark of anger in her electric-blue eyes. She would only ask if it meant something to her. Just thinking about someone doing that to the kind and friendly girl made him angry.

"Yeah, there is. There are love potions and spells to make someone like you like that, as in wanting to date and love them. For the person under them, it feels very real. They will say and do things completely out of character for them if it means working towards the intended purpose of the magic." Harry said while looking at the teenage girl. "I take it from your question and the look on your face that it happened to you?" He gently asked Buffy as he held her hand.

"Yeah, it did. When I was alive, I was attracted to a vampire named Angel. He was cursed by having his soul returned to him. He was all I could think about, and I wanted him to like me. I acted in ways that I normally wouldn't to get his attention. When I first arrived here in Purgatory, it took me a day to realize that I didn't even like him that way. I mean, I was the Slayer. I was supposed to kill vampires, not date them. He was over 200 years old and was 26 when he became a vampire. Why the hell would I want to be with him? The fact that he pursued me means he was creepy and a pervert. I got so caught up with him having a soul. Like, having a soul made him a good vampire. I completely ignored that prisons are full of evil people who have souls." Buffy replied, and the raven-haired wizard could hear the anger and feelings of disgust in her voice as she spoke about Angel.

She felt Harry gently squeeze her hand to comfort her and was surprised they were still holding hands. She didn't pull her hand from his because she liked how it felt while holding hands with the cute teenage boy.

"I'm sorry that happened to you, Buffy, and I think the same thing happened to me, but it was friendship instead of dating." Harry said while trying to reassure her she wasn't alone in this. "Do you think it was Angel who was responsible for it?" He asked with a tilt of his head.

"No, I don't think so. Angel never gave me anything to drink, and vampires can't use magic. It must have been someone else." Buffy replied in a sad voice before perking up. "But let's talk about that later. You were telling me about your life." She cheerfully told Harry while smiling prettily at him.

The blonde Slayer also realized that they were still holding hands.

'I'm just lonely and desperate for human contact. That's all it is.' Buffy thought to herself.
