The Quirk War

School Days Ch 1: USJ

Izuku continued his lunch and when the allotted time was over, he attended shop in the afternoon. For that lesson, Mr. Maijima taught the students how to form electrical circuits. He showed them how to cut and wind the wires around nodes to connect the circuit together. By shielding them with plastic, the wires would be covered and safe from leaking electricity. Izuku followed the lesson and created a circuit of his own, connecting a battery to a light bulb. When the switch was flipped, the light bulb lit up.

"Good work Midoriya. That's how it's done," said Mr. Maijima.

Eventually, classes ended for the day and Izuku returned home to rest before heading to demon hunter training with the Spade Mercenaries. His mother teleported him and herself to the Foundation's clinic and entered the Domain as a group. At the colosseum, she and Izuku split up with her going further in towards a new training centre for non-hunter civilians. Izuku entered the colosseum locker room and changed into athletic wear. As he exited, he bumped into Kashiko.

"Hi Izuku! How was your first day of school?" she asked.

"It was great! I met so many new people!" replied Izuku with a smile.

As Izuku and Kashiko continued their conversation, Melissa had exited the women's locker room. "Which school do you go to now?" asked Kashiko.

"UA. I'm in the support course," replied Izuku.

"Oh! I go there too!" said Kashiko, her eyes sparkling at the thought of going to school with Izuku.

"Really? What class?" asked Izuku, delighted to hear that she attended the same school.

"I'm in the business course, 1K," replied Kashiko. "It's nice having a familiar face there!"

"Izuku, did you say that you attend UA?" asked Melissa out of curiosity.

"Yeah," replied Izuku.

"That's Uncle Might's old school. He told my dad that he's now a teacher there," said Melissa.

"I know. He was the one who told me my test results. I wanted to be in the hero course to learn from him, but I promised Abel I wouldn't apply because of my 'condition,'" said Izuku.

"Oh yeah... Abel had my dad and me do the same thing. I gave up being a hero long ago because I was Quirkless like you were, or are. So, I followed my father's footsteps into support gear creation," said Melissa. "When my father is ready to test his new inventions, we ought to help him."

"Sure. What he's making now?" asked Izuku.

"Many things, but the main one is something called a 'harmonizer.' Normally, demons can't be hurt with non-supernatural attacks. They kinda ignore the laws of physics whenever they want to avoid harm. Our Atma powers are magical and can get around that, as can the magic of Abel's team, but other people are out of luck. Dad's new invention solves that problem and allows anyone to hurt a demon," replied Melissa.

"That's sounds important. If the heroes can't hurt demons, there's no way they can win. Only we would be..." said Kashiko.

"Hey! Let's start training already!" called Atsuro from the arena entrance, interrupting Kashiko.

"Coming!" the three students replied.

At the southeastern end of Mustafar stood Dagobah Beach, connecting the land with the great blue sea beyond. It had soft white sand which stretched across the edge of the city, a beautiful place where people could go for recreation. However, garbage from the ocean had washed up at certain corners of the beach, turning it into a great junkyard. The public only made it worse, using it to dump their garbage when the trucks would not take them. Mei Hatsume was in the area, combing for useful spare parts for her next invention.

She found a discarded computer tower on the sand, which was unopened. She quickly took off the screws and removed the casing to check that the CPU and internal circuitry were intact. Satisfied with what she saw, she closed the case and loaded the computer into a cart. As she collected more junk, she noticed a strange golden jewel among the trash. When she took hold of it, the jewel seemed to radiate the warm, wholesome glow of power. Seeing that this jewel could produce energy on its own, she claimed it for use as a power source.

Mei returned to UA the next day with her cart full of parts. After school, she took out the jewel from her locker in the shop and ran various tests against it. Oddly, the golden jewel triggered an Amp metre, which meant it was generating its own electricity. When Mei ran a current through the jewel itself, the reading spiked, indicating a higher output than what she put into the gem. This was a highly unusual, yet useful item, but despite that, someone had just discarded it in the trash and left it to rot.

"Wow! I gotta get this into one of my babies... I know! My suit of armour needs a lot of juice to run it. I'll put it there!" thought Mei.

Thus she sent to work, installing the jewel into a cylindrical device which extracted energy from the jewel by applying a light electrical charge to it. The device captured the extra energy in a capacitor, then funnelled it into the rest of the circuit. She then installed this device, a power core, into a slot in the armour. For the first few minutes, the armour moved and turned properly, as expected. Suddenly, the armour overloaded and let off a puff of smoke.

Mei coughed as he cleared her throat. "Be careful, Hatsume!" cried an irate Mr. Maijima.

That night, Izuku arrived at the Foundation colosseum for another session of training. He saw the four Spade Mercenaries at the base of the ziggurat, talking to each other. All of them had sombre expressions on their faces. "Is something wrong?" asked Izuku as he approached them.

"Yeah. Just earlier, we detected the energy signature of a 'Shard of Divinity,'" replied Atsuro.

"A Shard of Divinity? What's that? Where did you detect it?" asked Izuku.

"It's a piece of YHVH created upon his destruction at the hands of Nanashi the Godslayer," replied Abel. "We detected it at your school."

"Who's Nanashi and why is he so important? How did the Shard end up at my school?" asked Izuku.

"Nanashi is a young demon hunter from another world. The god Dagda had appointed him as his personal 'Godslayer,' a champion who would eliminate rival gods for him. Nanashi did his job so well that he turned against Dagda, then went on to defeat YHVH, the Abrahamic God," replied Abel.

"Wow! This guy must be really powerful if he could beat up God!" remarked Izuku.

"No kidding, but Nanashi's victory wasn't as complete as we thought. It only broke up YHVH into several pieces which we call the 'Shards of Divinity,'" said Abel. "If they are left alone, they could regenerate and recreate YHVH. We must not allow that to happen. Since that Shard is at UA, think of what might happen if an angry YHVH were to suddenly appear there!"

"Is he gonna blow up the school?" asked Izuku, becoming panicky. "Oh crap!"

"Calm down! The signal we detected was weak. We still have time," assured Midori.

"Yes we do. Izuku, when you return to school, please keep an eye out for anything that looks like a golden gem or jewel, but don't do anything that would put yourself or anyone else at risk," commanded Abel.

Izuku nodded. "I'll find out where the Shard is," said Izuku.

The next afternoon, Izuku returned to the development studio to take another shop lesson. As he entered the room, he felt a change in the aura of the area. There was a new wholesomeness to the area that was not present the previous times he had been there. It was a sensation of wholesomeness and holiness that pervaded the room. None of the other students seemed to react to it. It was possible that it was too weak for them to detect, but him having Altered Beast increased his sensitivity to such supernatural phenomenon.

When he approached one of Mei's inventions, a suit of powered armour, he felt the sensation more strongly. It had to be the source. On closer inspection, he noticed that it had an open compartment in the back. Inside was a jewel similar to what Abel had described. It was ovular in shape, but gold in colour, something unusual for a gem. That sense of holiness was most prominent from the gem. It was in some kind of cylindrical, plastic chamber with clamps holding it place and wires connected to it. It appeared to be powering Mei's armour.

"Hi Midoriya! Are you interested in my baby?" asked Mei as she came up from behind, startling Izuku.

"Oh! Uh yeah! That's an unusual power supply you've got there. Did you make it yourself?" he asked as he looked up from the gem.

"Yes... Well, not the gem. I didn't make that. I found it in the trash at Dagoba Beach," replied Mei.

"You found it in the trash?" asked Izuku, surprised to hear something like the Shard was just lying on a beach somewhere.

"Yeah! Whoever threw that out made a big mistake. Well, it's mine now, and I'm gonna use it to power my baby!" said Mei with a chuckle.

"It's making quite a bit of power. I'm surprised that a gem of all things could do that," remarked Izuku, looking at the reading for a device which monitored wattage.

"Yeah, me too! I didn't know that until I ran a current through it. I gotta learn more. This baby's so awesome!" said Mei.

Once school ended, Izuku went somewhere hidden in the school and called Abel on his smartphone. "Hello?" asked Abel from the other end.

"Hey, it's Izuku," replied Izuku. "Listen, I found out where that Shard is. My classmate Hatsume is using it to power a suit of armour at the development studio."

"I see. We'll move late tonight, when the school is empty," said Abel. "Thank you, Izuku. Just attend class like nothing had happened. We'll take care of the rest on our end."

"Okay. That's all for my report, bye for now," said Izuku, terminating the call.

When night fell on Mustafar, Yuzu approached the edge of the roof of a building. She was east of UA High, overlooking the campus before her from her perch. At the west, Midori took the roof of a building which overlooked the high school from the other side. To the south, Abel and Atsuro approached the edge of a roof and saw the front gate of the school. UA had gone quiet during the night, save for a few security guards and robotic drones which wandered the vacant campus.

Focusing, Atsuro could visualize the flow of electricity in the school's security network. He could see the flow of data throughout the campus, including the information its cameras beamed back to the security station. Atsuro sent a signal to all of the cameras and drones, causing their feeds to go dead and produce only random static. "Okay Saemon, I've sabotaged their cameras. You'd better make this quick. The guards are going to head out and investigate," said Atsuro.

"I will," said Abel.

Abel teleported before the numbered front doors of the school. According to his sixth sense, the Shard of Divinity was still on the first floor. He entered the door marked "1" and looked around. He could detect security guards moving about the halls on patrol with more being deployed to compensate for their cameras and robots going down. He took a left to walk west, eventually finding a set of riveted steel double doors. The sign identified the room as the development studio, with a wrench replacing the "l" and a gear replacing the final "o."

The door was open, as though someone had left the room in a hurry. Abel entered and looked around the room, scanning for where the Shard might be hidden. He reached out with his sixth sense and detected its energy signature coming from within a locker in the back. It had been padlocked and the label on it said it belonged to Mei Hatsume. Abel weakened the lock by freezing it, then shattered it to pieces with a thought.

"Hey! Who are you?" asked someone from behind.

Abel quickly turned around and saw a man who wore a helmet like an excavator's bucket. He was Higari Maijima, better known as a Power Loader, a faculty member of UA. After a swift psychic assault, Power Loader blacked out and hit the ground with a thud. Abel quickly extended a vine from his finger and dragged Power Loader into the room, out of view of security patrols in the halls. He hid Power Loader beneath a table, then directed a memory-erasing spell to his mind.

Abel turned back to the locker and opened it. He found a shelf holding a cylindrical device with the Shard of Divinity mounted in it. He pulled it out, then opened a Reality Fracture upon it. The Shard and the device containing it were shredded and disintegrated within the void-like rift in the fabric of reality. Nothing remained to indicate they had ever existed. Abel quickly teleported out before security arrived and found out what he had done.

"It's done. I got spotted by a teacher, but I knocked him out and wiped his memory. He shouldn't be able to tell anyone what he saw," said Abel.

"Great! I've also deleted all references to the Shard from the computers in the school," said Atsuro.

"All that's left is to erase the memory of that locker's owner, and everything should be okay," said Abel.

"It's time for us to head back," said Midori.

))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Back at the school, a security guard wandered by the development studio and found the door ajar. Curious as to why that was, the guard went to lock it, only to see Power Loader inside, sprawled on the ground beneath a table. "Teruo here. I found someone unconscious on the floor in the development studio," reported the guard over the radio, going over to identify him. "It's Higari Maijima. He might need help."

Teruo looked up briefly and noticed that one of the lockers had been opened hastily with metal debris by its foot. At that moment, Power Loader started to stir. "Ow!" he groaned, rubbing the back of his head, as he had hit it when he collapsed.

"Are you okay? I found you out cold on the floor," said Teruo the security guard.

"My head is pounding," replied Power Loader, rubbing his temples.

"Help is on the way. Can you tell me what happened? How did you wind up on the floor?" asked Teruo.

"I… can't remember. All I remember is going to the can, then waking up to find you here," replied Power Loader.

Teruo jotted down everything he knew about the situation and whatever Power Loader told him. "Okay, relax. Help is on the way," said Teruo.

The next morning, the teachers met in a faculty lounge, where Teruo had gathered them together. "Last night, there was a break-in at the development studio. While I was on patrol, I found the studio door open. When I went to close it, I found Maijima unconscious on the ground under a table. I also noticed that one of the lockers had been ransacked and the lock itself smashed to pieces," reported Teruo.

Nezu perked up. "Did the cameras catch the robber? Whose locker was it?" asked Principal Nezu, who looked like an anthropomorphic white mouse with dog-like paws who wore a vest.

"No, they were malfunctioning at the time. The locker belonged to Mei Hatsume," reported Teruo.

"What did the intruder take from her locker?" asked Nezu.

"That's the funny thing. Maijima can't remember," replied Teruo.

"He can't? How?" asked Nezu facing Power Loader to prompt a response from him.

"I'm sorry, Nezu," replied Power Loader, shaking his head. "I just can't."

"Did Hatsume tell you what was in her locker?" asked Aizawa.

"I called her to ask, but she can't remember what was in there either," replied Teruo.

Aizawa grimaced upon hearing that. "She doesn't remember either? Hmm… Could this be the work of a Quirk, something which affects memories? At least one of them should know what was in that locker," said Aizawa.

"I'll ask the other students of Ms. Hatsume's class. Perhaps they might know something," said Teruo. "I've taken up enough of your time. If you have more questions, ask the security department. I'll leave a memo about the incident on the bulletin board if you want to review."

During homeroom, Teruo had visited Class 1H and asked the students if they had seen anything that might shed light on the theft. No one answered, especially not Izuku. It was not long before word about this robbery spread throughout the student body of UA High. During lunch, Itsuka came over to sit and eat lunch with Tetsu from her class as well as Izuku and Mei.

"So you really don't remember anything, even though it was your locker?" asked Izuku.

"Nope. Sorry Midoriya. I can't remember a thing," replied Mei, shrugging her shoulders.

"Why would a thief want anything from your locker? We're just a bunch of kids in a high school support class. It's not like we're making top secret tech here," remarked Tetsu.

"The thief wiped Mr. Maijima's memory so he can't even remember who had broken in," said Mei. "He must have gotten to me too, because I can't remember a thing either!"

"This gets stranger and stranger," remarked Tetsu, stroking his chin.

"Hey guys! Wassup?" asked a boy who placed his meal onto a table next to Itsuka.

"Oh, hi Monoma!" said Itsuka, smiling and eyes sparkling with joy.

"Hi Kendo! Were you talking about that theft at the development studio?" asked Monoma.

"Yeah. Scary isn't it?" asked Itsuka. "Someone could just walk in and take whatever he wanted and no one could stop him."

"UA is full of cameras, guards, and robots. He went to a lot of trouble to pull off a heist, yet only robbed a student's locker? What could be in there that was so important?" asked Neito.

In an abandoned warehouse somewhere in Japan, a man in a black suit sat in the dark room, hooked up to an IV drip and monitors which tracked his vital signs. His face had been covered by so much scar tissue that he no longer had any eyes or hair. That man was All For One, named after his Quirk, which allowed him to steal Quirks from other people he touched. He was the greatest villain in Japan, the nemesis of All Might, seated like a dark lord on his throne.

His doctor, a plump, mustachioed old man who wore glasses, hovered about as he worked to improve the man's condition. A phone rang. "I'll get it," said the doctor, a man named Kyudai Garaki.

"Who's calling?" asked All For One.

"It's Frenchie," replied Dr. Garaki, covering the receiver.

"Put her through," said All For One. "Hello. How did it go?" he asked Frenchie, the mother of a student who was attending his first year at UA High.

"Boss man, the bell boy has pulled through," announced Frenchie. "He got us a copy of tonight's menu. I'll send it over for you to look at. I hope you enjoy your meal."

"I will. Thank you very much," replied All For One, who then cracked a sinister smile.

Dr. Garaki checked the encrypted email which just arrived at his computer, sent to him from Frenchie. The attached file was a schedule for Class 1A, which included a rescue training session over at the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, or USJ. This structure was located outside UA High's campus and focused on training hero course students as well as emergency service personnel like paramedics on how to act in an emergency with injured people.

According to the schedule, All For One's nemesis, All Might, would teach a class there soon. "Good," remarked All For One. "Let Shigaraki know that All Might will be teaching a class on the Friday coming up."

"Of course," replied Dr. Garaki.

"How goes my treatment?" asked All For One.

"Quite well. So well, that I've drafted plans for a few upgrades," replied Dr. Garaki, smiling at the thought. He showed All For One a strange golden jewel. "Look at this! This jewel can empower Quirks if attached to a person. With it, you can regain your old power. No, not just your old power... You'll be even more powerful than you were in your prime!"

"Well, this is a treat!" remarked All For One with a smile.

"Yes indeed! First though, I must finish your treatment. I'm still perfecting the upgrade procedure, but once that's done, you'll be unstoppable," said Dr. Garaki.

"Excellent!" replied All For One.

As Dr. Garaki worked on his patient, life continued at UA High. The strange burglary at the development studio left both the faculty and the students baffled, but classes resumed as normal. As Izuku left the main building, he saw the first year hero students in costume, gathered around the side of the building where the buses stopped to load passengers. "Heading off for training again?" asked Izuku as he approached his friends from 1B.

Tetsu turned to Izuku. "Oh, hey Midoriya! Yeah, they're sending us to the USJ for disaster relief training," replied Tetsu.

"I heard the USJ has areas to simulate fires and storms," said Monoma.

"Yeah, I heard that too. You're getting a very realistic experience that way. That's amazing!" remarked Izuku.

Tetsu shuddered with anticipation. "Oh yeah! This is what we came to UA for, real hero stuff. Excuse me Midoriya. I have to catch the bus. I'll see you later," said Tetsu.

"Good luck!" said Midoriya, waving to Tetsu as he made his way to the bus.

Izuku waved to his 1B friends as they departed for the USJ. Since he was a support student, school was officially over for him. He went home for a brief moment before departing for training at the Foundation Domain. As he travelled the streets of Mustafar, he noticed Iida running down the streets at a rapid pace. "IIDA!" cried Izuku, waving to get his attention. "Hey Iida! What's the matter?" Izuku cried out to him again.

Iida heard him and rushed over. "Oh Midoriya! Am I glad to see you! Villains are attacking the USJ!" said Iida. "The villains jammed all electronics, so my phone is fried. I'm running back to get help. Can you call UA and tell them I'm coming?"

"Don't worry. I'm making the call now," said Izuku, punching in the number to UA's office on his smartphone.

"Thanks. I have to go now," said Iida, before dashing away.

"Hello, this is UA High's reception. How may I help you?" asked the secretary on the other end.

"I'm Izuku Midoriya, a student at your school. I just heard from a friend that villains are attacking the students at the USJ! Get Principal Nezu on the line!" demanded Izuku.

"What's this about the USJ?" asked Nezu from behind the secretary as he overheard the conversation. Nezu received the phone from the woman. "This is Principal Nezu. What were you saying about the USJ?" Nezu asked upon receiving the phone.

"Villains are attacking it! I bumped into Iida and he told me he was running back to school to get help. He told me to call ahead and let you know," replied Izuku.

"I see... Wait, I think that's him outside my window! Please hold on," said Nezu, who dropped the phone. Izuku remained on the line, then heard some distant, but unintelligible talking. "All faculty members with hero licences, please report to the meeting room immediately. This is an emergency!" announced Nezu over the public announcement system.

After Nezu made the announcement, he returned to address Izuku over the phone. "Sorry about that! The teachers are being dispatched as we speak. I'll be joining them too. Thank you for reporting this. Please don't worry anymore. Help is on the way!"

"Thank you Principal Nezu. Go help my friends as soon as you can," said Izuku, who then ended the call.

Despite Nezu's assurances, Izuku was still concerned for his friends still trapped at the USJ. Although Abel had warned him against such things, he wanted to help as his friends were in dire need. Ultimately, Izuku's desire to help won out. He looked around and found an alley out of the public eye. He went in, then transformed into the Werewolf form of Altered Beast. He ascended the nearby building, then jumped from roof to roof on a path to the USJ.

He eventually landed in the midst of a tree-covered area outside what was a white, domed structure. The main doors were on the south side with a bus stop situated just before the building. When Beast emerged through the thick double doors, he was greeted with the sight of a long tiled walkway. It led to a flight of stairs down to a plaza with a fountain at its centre. Smaller domed areas surrounded this plaza, each of which simulated a different hazardous environment like a fire or a storm.

Some of the students of 1A and 1B were present before him with two of them propping up a female pro hero in an astronaut's space suit. Her name was Thirteen and she ran this facility to train aspiring heroes and emergency service personnel in rescues. She was a specialist in that regard with her Quirk, Black Hole. It allowed her to create its namesake on her fingertips to suck things up and destroy them. She had suffered severe wounds from a battle with a villain and her suit had been torn and tattered.

The students looked at Altered Beast, unsure of whether he was friend or foe. "Who's that?" asked Uraraka, a brunette dressed in a pink, space age suit.

"Is that Hound Dog?" asked Sero, a boy with short black hair and a plain face, one of the students helping to prop up Thirteen.

"Don't move! It's not him!" corrected Itsuka.

Beast sniffed the air and caught scents both familiar and not, likely those of the villains. He promptly leapt off the side of the walkway he was on and landed in the midst of some trees. He rushed to where the unknown scents were strongest, at the central area where the fountain stood. A motley crew of villains with strange Quirks were present. Class 1A's teacher, Aizawa, the pro hero Eraserhead, had been restrained by a violet, muscular creature who had a bird-like head with an exposed brain.

Aizawa had the Quirk of Erasure, which allowed him to look at someone and nullify their Quirk. Despite this debilitating power, it was no match against the creature, which was called a Nomu. The Nomu had innate superhuman strength, which it used to bend Aizawa's arm back painfully. The teacher was covered in blood and bruises from trying to battle the thing, but it was practically immune to his blows as it also had superhuman durability.

Just steps away, Beast saw Vlad King, the teacher of 1B. He was a muscular man in a red suit with spiky grey hair and fangs in his mouth. He was battered and bruised from fighting all of the low-level villains which had accompanied the Nomu. His Quirk was Blood Control, which allowed him to control his own blood once it left his body. He had used it to harden restraints around several of the villains, who were pinned to the ground. Many villains still stood and had him surrounded. He slumped to one knee from fatigue.

Beast ran at the villains and slashed one of them across the stomach with a Lunar Claw. He was so fast that only after cutting down the next did the rest even realize that he was present, let alone a threat to them. "What the fu..." remarked one female villain.

Beast felled a third, then a fourth, before they could finally identify him. "It's that Werewolf! Stop him!" cried another of the villains, before Beast launched into a Lunar Kick which felled him.

He went from villain to villain like a blur, cutting each of them down with no time for any form of retaliation. When the villains had fallen, Beast had landed a Lunar Kick on the Nomu's face, forcing it into releasing Aizawa. The Nomu crashed to the ground with a thud, but quickly got up and rushed at Beast. It hurled a pair of punches, which were evaded. Beast retorted with a flurry of Lunar Claw swipes, opening multiple charred lacerations on the Nomu's body. It quickly healed them, then caught Beast in the face with enough force to send him into the water.

"Good work Nomu! That takes care of our Werewolf interloper," said the Nomu's boss, Shigaraki, a young man with grey hair and hands gripping his body as ornaments.

As Beast sank, other villains lurking in the water converged on him, seeing him as prey. He promptly transformed into the Triton and blasted them all with bubbles. While the first few were struck down, the others started to dodge his attacks. Beast initiated a maelstrom in the water, causing all of the villains to be sucked in and hurled away. Upon returning to shore, he returned to Werewolf form.

He launched a Lunar Kick right into the Nomu's left eye. The fiery blue aura seared the socket, taking it out completely. All the Nomu could do was replace it with flesh, having lost sight in that eye. "Let's see how strong you are without one eye!" Beast thought to himself.

At that moment, a figure landed near the fray with a loud boom. It was a figure Beast was all too familiar with. It was All Might, his idol, the greatest hero of Japan. The heroic paragon was not smiling as his usual self would be, as he was quite upset at how the villains were targeting students, especially those under his watch. "I ran into young Iida and heard about the villainy at work here. Now, I am here to put a stop to it!" announced All Might.

Beast was filled with dread at how complicated the situation had become. It was good that All Might was here to help his friends, but also bad since he could be mistaken for one of the villains and targeted. With All Might here, the rest of the UA faculty would not be far behind, as he had heard from Nezu. Beast now had to find a way to escape. As All Might approached, Beast made sure to keep his distance from the Symbol of Peace. With all three sides present, each stared down the others, waiting for them to make the first move.

"All Might is here. This game will get a continue after all. Nomu, kill All Might!" ordered Shigaraki.

The Nomu immediately rushed at All Might and delivered several blows. All Might blocked, then retaliated in kind, finding that his punches had little effect on the creature. "It doesn't matter where I punch you, does it?" All Might asked the Nomu.

"Nomu has Shock Absorption. He's one big punching bag that hits back. You've finally met your match, All Might!" said Shigaraki.

While Shigaraki was boasting about the Nomu, Beast watched the battle from the sidelines. Shigaraki had been distracted by the battle. This was the perfect chance to strike. He charged at Shigaraki in preparation to cut him down. Shigaraki began to turn when he detected Beast's motion from his left. At the same time, the Nomu also moved and managed to get in front of Shigaraki to take the Lunar Claw swipe. Beast had opened a laceration on the Nomu's chest, sparing Shigaraki from harm.

Beast retreated as the Nomu hurled punches in retaliation, then the Nomu was forced to retreat when All Might moved against his boss. The Nomu took the hit for Shigaraki again, leaving Beast free. There was a sudden change in the wind, which brought a fresh new set of scents into the area. They came from the other teachers of UA, come to apprehend the villains and restore order to the USJ.

Separated from the melee, Beast saw his chance and bolted for the rear of the USJ. "Shit! That one got away!" cursed All Might, who was forced to evade a retaliatory punch from the Nomu.

Beast was already at the wall and smashed through it with a Lunar Kick. He landed outside and fled as far as he could, as quickly as his lupine feet could carry him. He burst out of the USJ's grounds and fled into an alley, where he changed into the Garuda and flew the rest of the way to Mustafar Park. Once above the treeline, he shifted into the Domain. Abel, who was training Melissa and Kashiko at the firing range, detected his arrival and teleported to meet him.

"You're half an hour late! What were you doing?" asked Abel, clearly irate at him.

"My friends were being attacked by villains at the USJ! I went to help," admitted Izuku, cowering from his teacher's wrath.

That admission only made Abel angrier. "You fought villains? HUMAN villains? Didn't I tell you not to get involved with these kinds of foes? Did you bite anyone, even by accident?" asked Abel.

"No," replied Izuku.

"Well, that's a relief. Get changed and start training. Don't do anything stupid like that again!" scolded Abel.

"I won't. I'm sorry," apologized Izuku.
