The Quirk War
By: RB3
School Days Ch 3: Super Robot Wars

The two teams were off in an instant, racing towards the end of the track at top speed. As they rounded the first bend, they came into a widened area of the track, in view of the first obstacle. A group of large green robots, each with a tyrannosaurus-like build, stood in their way. These foes were very familiar faces to the students. "Those are the zero-point robots from the entrance exam!" said Itsuka.

"Seriously?" asked a random female student from the Team 1B pack.

"The hero course had to fight those things?" asked a random male student.

"Oh crap! How are we going to beat them?" asked another random male student from the Team 1B pack.

"That was then, this is now. We outnumber them nearly a hundred to six and we're fighting with you!" stated Tetsu.

"The support class built you all those cool toys just so you could beat these guys. Don't let 'em go to waste!" cried Izuku. "Target the one on the far left!"

"YEAH!" cheered Team 1B, encouraged by Tetsu and Izuku's courage.

Izuku led the attack in firing a gun-like weapon at the leftmost robot. Its disk-like projectile attached itself to the metal chassis and emitted an electrical charge. Staggered, the tyrannosaur robot immediately stopped. Other random students lobbed nets at the robot, entangling it and halting its movement. At the same time, Tetsu activated his Quirk and charged directly at another robot in the centre of the now five strong enemy pack. The robots turned their attention to him and tried to grab him, but he quickly leapt aside from an attempt to slap him into the ground.

He resumed the charge and reached a robot's shin and pummelled it with metallic fists. The sheer force behind them caused dents to form and staggered the robot. Itsuka moved in and threw a giant uppercut to the robot's face. The robot's sensors got crushed and its subsequent collapse prompted Team 1B students to swarm it. "Class 1B demonstrates its fearlessness by charging straight for those robots without hesitation! They're making short work of those tin cans!" reported Present Mic over the announcement system.

Tetsu noticed that Izuku had taken possession of a metal plate which had been stripped from a robot during the battle. "What are you doing?" asked Tetsu, prompted by the act.

"I'm keeping this as a shield for when we meet the other team," replied Izuku.

Tetsu smiled. "Oh! Good idea! I'm getting one myself," stated Tetsu.

Not only did he grab one, Hiryu Rin and Itsuka were among others who had heard their conversation and grabbed their own shields from the torn off armour plates. "Team 1B is taking armour plates from the robots along with them. What could they be planning?" asked Present Mic.

Class 1B continued on its way down the track without incident, having kept their team intact with no losses. Behind them in the other lane, Team 1A was starting to catch up to their location. Eventually, both teams came upon a massive chasm. There were nets halfway to the bottom and beyond them, it was purely darkness. If they fell, the nets would catch them, but they were out of the race. There were pillars of rock which jutted from below, whose tops acted as islands of safety. They were connected by several ropes which allowed someone to shimmy across.

"Now it's my turn!" declared Mei. She shot a grappling hook to a rock on the island ahead, then pulled herself over, using the retracting cable as propulsion, and thrust from her hover boots to remain airborne. When she landed, she was just centimetres from a strange bump in the dirt the size of a pie. Sensing danger, she immediately froze. "Oh, watch out guys! There's something strange buried in the ground here!"

"Something buried in the ground?" asked Tetsu, puzzled at what he heard.

Izuku looked at the flat, plateau-like shape of the bump in the ground before Mei. Other similar bumps were scattered everywhere on the islands. "Watch out! They're mines!" warned Izuku.

"Oh shit!" cursed Tetsu, recognizing the danger they posed in this situation.

"Yanagi, this is your chance! Show them your stuff!" said Itsuka, turning to the girl.

"Okay. I can get rid of the mines with my Quirk," said a grey-haired girl with bangs covering her left eye.

She was Reiko Yanagi, and she looked like a living ghost. She had the Quirk of "Poltergeist," which allowed her to lift and move objects via telekinesis, which included hurling them. Although a very powerful and versatile Quirk, Yanagi's weight limit was that of a person, and the total weight of everything she was moving could not exceed that. She used her Quirk to lift a pebble, then hurled it at a bump in the distance.

It exploded immediately, blowing up a cloud of smoke. "Watch out! I'm still here you know!" cried Mei, trying to hold still and not accidentally trigger the mine just centimetres ahead of her.

"Whoa! Yanagi nearly caused a friendly fire incident by blowing up a mine near her teammate. Hatsume was lucky she was far enough to avoid being harmed by the blast," said Present Mic.

Yanagi proceeded to trigger every mine she could via hurling pebbles or simply lifting out of the ground and tossing them away. Once she had cleared enough mines, Team 1B started to shimmy across the ropes to the now safe islands. The hero students and any who had useful Quirks acted as security in case they were ambushed during this vulnerable state. Indeed, that was what happened when a swishing sound started to approach the group.

Drones with rotors descended upon them in an attempt to snatch the students and drop them into the abyss. One of them charged at Izuku, who used the armour plate to block the attempt. Another robot snatched a student from general studies, but Itsuka held the male student firm with a giant right, then crushed the robot with a poke from her giant left. She returned the student to the rocky island. "Thank you Kendo!" said the student.

Yanagi started removing the next set of mines with Poltergeist, then hurled them at the drones. Although relatively weak, the mines were powerful enough to blow such fragile robots to pieces when they connected. One by one, the drones went down until none remained. Team 1B was fortunate to have lost no one despite the difficulty of repelling an attack while crossing such a precarious area. They continued onward to the next obstacle, a set of walls.

Izuku noticed that the first wall was relatively short, about half the height of the average student. He simply set up his armour plate to make a ramp for his team to walk up. Tetsu, Rin, and Itsuka did the same and once everyone got past the wall, they reclaimed their plates and came to the next wall, a steel one which was three times the height of the first. Ibara extended her vine-like hair to provide ropes which Team 1B could climb to get over the steel wall.

At the same time, Setsuna Tokage, a girl with green hair, split herself to pieces with the Quirk "Lizard Tail Splitter." Her pieces could fly, a trait she used to carry her teammates over and past the walls to the other side. Monoma had copied her Quirk by touching her hand, then split himself to pieces to do the same. The entirety of 1B either got lifted over by Tokage and Monoma, or climbed the wall with help from Ibara and the others. Now, only a single obstacle remained, the other members of Team 1A positioned to stop their advance.

As they ran forward, they approached a bend and saw an area ahead which was marked by a white line. As long as Team 1B stayed outside that line, Team 1A's goons could not attack them, nor leave the area to get to them. "Come on extras! I'll give you one quick trip off the track!" taunted Bakugo from among the enemy group as he saw the rival team approach.

"Don't fall for his taunts. Let's take this time to get ready guys!" said Izuku.

"Okay!" said Itsuka.

Izuku, Tetsu, Rin, Itsuka and others prepared their armour plates, then took point as they advanced with them raised as shields. As soon as they were past the line, Bakugo started peppering them with explosions along with others students attacking. Despite the impacts, the armour plates held firm as the shield wall advanced with their teammates following behind. From behind the shield wall, Team 1B members armed with guns fired at the 1A group, forcing its members to evade, thereby weakening enemy fire.

"What a clever ploy from Team 1B! By using those plates as shields, they were able to block Team 1A's initial attacks and enable their own team to advance," commented Present Mic. "Team 1A's defenders are going to be swarmed!"

Bakugo kept blasting the advancing shield wall with explosions, but the four students held firm. Tsuyu Asui, a frog-like girl with green hair, lashed her tongue out, but Izuku moved in front to block it with the armour plate. Once the two sides closed, chaos erupted as Team 1B laid into 1A's goons. Bakugo caught sight of Tetsu and started to blast him with explosions. The steel boy weathered the attacks with his armoured body and charged through. Just before he could deliver the knock out, Bakugo used explosions to propel himself away, leaving Tetsu frustrated.

After Bakugo created more explosions to knock down random Team 1B students, Izuku suddenly grabbed him from behind with a rear naked choke. "Go! I've got Katsuki! Get everyone else to the finish line!" cried Izuku.

"Okay! Keep that jerk busy for us!" said Tetsu.

He found a downed Team 1B student and helped her get up and start making a beeline for the finish line. Izuku continued to hold back Bakugo as the other goons pursued. Itsuka caught Asui's tongue with an enlarged hand, then grabbed her with the other and hurled her into the ground. "Let me go, Deku!" cried Bakugo as he tried to loosen the hold.

"Never!" cried Izuku defiantly.

Bakugo struggled to loosen the rear naked choke, but found it was too tightly applied to break. Coming close to passing out, Bakugo set off an explosion near his and Izuku's heads. Izuku recoiled in pain, taking some damage, but his Regeneration kicked in and got him healed in but a second. He and Bakugo were now separated. Bakugo quickly triggered another explosion, sending Izuku over the retaining fence and into the grassy area beyond.

"Ha Deku! I'm better than you. I always was and always will be!" taunted Bakugo from the track.

Izuku got off the ground, annoyed that Bakugo had sent him out there. He and Bakugo glared at each other. Izuku's face took on a feral cast with yellow eyes like that of a wolf. Altered Beast was calling to him, tempting him to transform and maul Bakugo. Izuku kept firm control of his rage and simply continued to stare down the bully. "It doesn't matter if you beat me. I've made sure my team will cross the finish line first," assured Izuku.

"Oh! Midoriya took a mean explosion and got sent out of bounds. He may be eliminated, but his sacrifice may not be in vain," commented Present Mic. "Look! Team 1B is approaching the finish line!"

As 1B neared the finish line, Tokage had separated from the pack and raced ahead. As she entered the tunnel to the stadium's centre, a boy with jet black skin and grey hair suddenly leapt out of her pocket. He was Shihai Kuroiro, who had the Quirk of "Black." It allowed him to meld with objects that were black in colour, or darkness itself, and move through it with great speed. He did so through the darkness of the tunnel and emerged on the other side first, just before Iida burst out of his team's tunnel.

Tokage followed Iida and secured the third place finish for Team 1B, with Mei coming soon after while being propelled by her hover boots. Todoroki secured the fifth place finish, sliding into the stadium's centre on a patch of ice. Yaoyorozu, a girl with spiky black hair in a red leotard, sped in on a skateboard just after him. After her was Pony, riding on a pair of her detached horns, and then Monoma while copying Tokage's Quirk to secure that final two positions. The rest of the teams arrived after them.

The event coordinators tallied the points garnered by each team. Team 1A lost five of their members during the race, which meant 95 had successfully finished the race. At the same time, everyone on Team 1B had crossed the finish line save Izuku. Team 1A secured the second, fifth, and sixth place finishes while 1B got the rest of the positions. Their scores tallied to 110 points for 1A, but 123 points for 1B, making Team 1B the overall winner of the Escort Race.

"YES!" cheered Vlad King, bolting up from his seat in the stands and pumping his fists into the air.

"Alright!" cheered Tetsu. He then saw Izuku finally enter the colosseum to see how the teams scored. "You see that Midoriya? We won!"

"Oh yeah! I'm glad!" cheered Izuku, pumping his fist in the air.

"We did it! In your face, 1A!" cheered Monoma.

Team 1B relished their victory in the Escort Race and exchanged cheers and high-fives among themselves. "Wow! What a great victory for Team 1B in the Escort Race! They banded together to pass every obstacle and thanks to Midoriya's sacrifice, they took the race. Congratulations!" said Present Mic.

After some time to rest and eat lunch, the events started up at the stadium with the holding of the Super Robot Wars event for the support course students. Dozens of students from this course in the first year had gathered in the stadium with their robotic entries. In one group, Izuku helped Mei run diagnostics on their entry, the Blue Bomber. It was a robot with a light blue chassis, but darker blue briefs, matching rounded boots and helmet. A cannon had been mounted on each arm. He looked very much like a superhero in this attire.

"Everything checks out. We're good to go, Hatsume!" announced Izuku.

"Okay! Let's take this one home!" said Mei.

"Okay folks, it's about time to start our next main event, Super Robot Wars!" announced Present Mic. "In this event, eight robots will compete in a single elimination tournament to see which team has built the best robot. A better performance in the tournament will win more points for each hero class' team, so get out there and shoot for the top!"

The first two robots to begin was the Blue Bomber up against Bombman, who looked like a red robot with a Mohawk-like structure on its head. When Midnight called for the match to start, Bombman began hurling grenades. The battlefield had been riddled with explosions, forcing the Blue Bomber onto the defensive behind an energy shield. Once Bombman ran out of ammunition, the Blue Bomber unloaded its own payload of energy bolts, forcing Bombman back until it gave out and collapsed.

"The winner of this match is the Blue Bomber. Congratulations!" announced Present Mic.

As Super Robot Wars entered its semifinal matches, the Blue Bomber had been pitted against the Red Baron. It was a red robot who wore a pilot's cap and had chain guns for hands. As soon as Midnight called the match's start, the Red Baron unloaded bullets into the Blue Bomber. Mei's creation raised its energy shield and waited out the onslaught. Once the Red Baron took time to reload, the Blue Bomber fired numerous energy bolts. The Red Baron took to the sky to avoid the shots.

Instead of energy bolts, the Blue Bomber fired explosives into the air. The shrapnel from the blasts wore down the Red Baron and damaged its thrusters, causing it to crash to the ground. Unable to move from sustaining too much damage, it was declared unable to fight and the victory went to Mei and Izuku. "Yes!" cheered Mei pumping her fist into the air.

"Alright!" cheered Izuku, raising both fists into the air.

"The winner is the Blue Bomber!" announced Present Mic.

With that match won, the Blue Bomber was now a finalist in Super Robot Wars. For the championship match, they were pitted against the Golden Gunner, a creation of 1F, the other support class on Team 1B. This robot had a humanoid form which looked like it was wearing a golden tuxedo. In its hands were a pair of golden machine pistols. As soon as the match was called, the Golden Gunner leapt up and fired numerous bullets. The Blue Bomber quickly got up its energy shield to repel the shots. It tried to shoot back, but the Golden Gunner simply bounded back and forth out of its way.

The Golden Gunner continued to bound around, making itself a difficult target to track. The Blue Bomber took several rounds after its shield wore out, staggered momentarily. Luckily, the Golden Gunner had exhausted its ammunition and paused to reload. The Blue Bomber switched to its flak bombs and lobbed them at the Golden Gunner. The battlefield got littered with shrapnel, but the Golden Gunner continued to jump around until some flak dinged its leg.

With its leg damaged, the Golden Gunner visibly slowed down. The Blue Bomber struck it directly with a flak bomb, staggering the robot with the shrapnel. It followed by shooting the Golden Gunner with energy bolts until it collapsed and became unable to continue fighting. "The Golden Gunner is unable to battle. The Blue Bomber is the winner!" announced Midnight.

"YEAH!" cheered Mei, pumping fists into the air.

"There you have it folks. The Blue Bomber sweeps this tournament to bring the gold home for its team. Congratulations guys!" said Present Mic.

When Mei and Izuku returned to the 1B waiting area, they were greeted by the hero course students from 1B. "Alright! Way to represent 1B!" said Tetsu.

"Team 1B takes the gold again! Oh yeah!" cheered Monoma.

"Let's not forget 1F either. They got the silver for us too!" said Itsuka. "Congrats guys! We took Super Robot Wars because of both of you."

))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

The first day had ended with 1B sweeping 1A, taking both the Escort Race and Super Robot Wars. Since Izuku was not competing in any second day events, he took the time to rest and watch the other events as a spectator. The hero students of 1B competed against 1A in a race to empty a burning building of trapped civilians. On 1A's side, Fumikage Tokoyami sent the Dark Shadow up to the fifth floor of the building, where Ochako Uraraka handed it a dummy representing a stranded civilian.

Dark Shadow then placed it with the others in a zone marked with a cross to represent a medical evacuation area. As the civilians got emptied from the building, both teams put out the fires, but 1A was just a bit quicker and had scored the victory. "Team 1A has broken their losing streak with a timely victory in Rescue Hero! Congratulations Team 1A!" announced Present Mic.

During the afternoon, the general studies students of both teams faced off against each other in a soccer game. After a difficult fought match, Team 1A had prevailed again, taking the victory in this event. Now, the score was tied and it was going to be the events of the third day which truly decided the outcome of the Sports Festival. The night came and went and the third day opened with the Hero Tourney, which pitted eight members of each hero class in one-on-one, single elimination battles.

The first match of the elimination rounds pitted Katsuki Bakugo against Togaru Kamakiri, a boy who had the head of a preying mantis and a green Mohawk. When the match started, Kamakiri rushed at Bakugo with his body covered in blades formed by his Quirk, "Razor Sharp." Bakugo used an explosion to leap over him, then blasted him from behind with an explosion. Kamakiri got blasted out of the ring and left dazed. He had been eliminated from the tournament.

The second match involved Itsuka Kendo against Ochako Uraraka. Once the match began, Itsuka enlarged her hands and tried to punch Ochako. She evaded and went around her hands. Itsuka shrank and retracted her hands, then expanded the again as she punched towards Ochako. The gravity-using girl got struck in the chin, knocked back, and dazed momentarily. Itsuka grabbed her with her enlarged hands, then tossed her out of the ring to take the victory.

After a few more elimination matches, the event reached the final elimination, which pitted Tetsu against Eijiro Kirishima. As soon as the opening call went out, the two fighters activated their Quirks and went straight at each other to start hurling punches. Tetsu took a blow to the chin, only to deliver one of his own back to Kirishima. Back at the 1B waiting room, Izuku watched the match apprehensively. "No Tetsu! Don't trade hits! WRESTLE HIM!" cried Izuku, hoping Tetsu would realize his mistake.

After taking another punch from Kirishima, Tetsu realized that he was getting nowhere. As though hearing Izuku's warning, Tetsu retaliated with a punch, then suddenly scooted in and caught Kirishima with double underhooks. He lifted and slammed the rocky boy into the ground, then climbed on. Tetsu quickly got past his guard, taking side control of Kirishima's left, then delivering a few elbows to the head on the way. Kirishima tried to squirm his way out, but Tetsu kept the pressure up and prevented him from getting any headway.

Tetsu quickly got the mounted position, sitting on Kirishima's torso as he rained punches onto Kirishima's face. Even as Kirishima covered his face, Tetsu hook punched around it until Kirishima was worn down and knocked out. "The winner is Tetsu with a great showing of wrestling and ground fighting," said Present Mic.

"Yeah! That's it!" cheered Izuku, pumping his fists into the air. With the completion of Tetsu and Kirishima's match, the elimination rounds had ended.

The quarterfinals began soon after with Katsuki Bakugo of 1A meeting Itsuka Kendo of 1B in combat. When the match got started, Bakugo led by casting explosions directly at Itsuka. She used her enlarged hands to shield herself from the blast, than took a swipe back. Bakugo simply used an explosion to propel himself away. When he got distance, he generated another explosion which pushed Itsuka back and covered the arena in smoke.

Itsuka used her enlarged hands to fan the smoke away, but Bakugo was nowhere to be seen. Itsuka saw his shadow on the ground, then looked up, too late to stop his ensuing explosion attack. Itsuka got blasted into the ground and rendered immobile. "Bakugo wins the match!" announced Midnight.

"Wow! That jerk didn't hesitate to go all out on a girl!" remarked Tetsu.

"Katsuki was never one to hold back. He wants to win this just as much as the next person. Everyone is," remarked Izuku.

The last match of the quarterfinals pitted Tetsu against Tenya Iida, the class president of 1A. Once the match was called, Tetsu activated his Quirk, but Iida ran behind him and started pushing him towards the edge of the ring. Unlike his elimination match against Ibara, Tetsu was much harder to move, being stronger and heavier due to his metal body. It took many, many seconds longer just to make any headway, which allowed Tetsu to turn around and get double underhooks on Iida to stop his motion.

Tetsu reached down and grabbed Iida by the legs and got him off the ground. He carried Iida forward despite him punching and squirming in an attempt to get free. Tetsu returned to the safety of the centre, then slammed Iida down, landing in his guard. Tetsu quickly sat up and drilled a lunging punch into Iida's chin. 1A's class president got a bruise put there.

Iida quickly covered his face, but Tetsu hooked around them with a right, then a left. The twin blows dazed Iida to such an extent that after one more punch to the jaw, Iida had been knocked out. "Iida is unconscious! Tetsu is the winner!" declared Midnight.

Tetsu got up and raised his fist triumphantly to the crowd before leaving for the waiting room. Once there, he exchanged high-fives with the members of his team. "Alright! You're going to the semis now, Tetsu!" said Itsuka. "The rest of us are out. It's just you now. Take it to the top!"

"Oh, you bet I will! I'm not stopping now! I'm going all the way to first place!" assured Tetsu, clenching his fists.

The semifinals started with Bakugo blasting Tokoyami's Dark Shadow with an explosion. Since the effect generated bright light, the Dark Shadow recoiled in fear. Bakugo closed with Tokoyami and pinned him to the ground, keeping fireworks popping in his hand to suppress the Dark Shadow. "Bakugo defeats Tokoyami to enter the finals!" announced Midnight.

The other semifinal match pitted Tetsu against Shoto Todoroki, a favourite to win the tournament. The moment the match started, Todoroki froze the metal Tetsu in a block of ice which spanned the arena. However, with his increased strength from training with Izuku, he forced himself out of the ice. Todoroki had been shocked and horrified at this display of immense strength. "Once my fist meets your face, it's game over!" said Tetsu.

Todoroki, having no other choice, tried to freeze him again. As before, Tetsu simply tore his way out of the ice and charged at his foe. By now, Todoroki was beginning to feel the chill touch of his overextended Quirk. Frost had formed on his body and he was noticeably slower in getting a third blast of ice out and freezing Tetsu. His third ice block was also much smaller, only encompassing half of the battlefield instead of all.

Again, Tetsu burst out of the ice and chased down Todoroki, but even Tetsu was starting to tire of this game of cat and mouse. He eventually got close and scored a clean punch on the chin of Todoroki, who was unable to mount any defence due to hypothermia setting in. After another blow, Todoroki stumbled back and stepped past the boundary line. "Todoroki has moved out of bounds! Tetsu is the winner!" announced Midnight.

"Awesome! You beat Todoroki! He's one of the best fighters in the other class. Great work!" said Izuku as he escorted Tetsu back to the locker room.

After a short break, the Tourney resumed. Before the finals began, Todoroki and Tokoyami were brought back for a tie-breaker match to determine third place since both had been eliminated in the semifinals. As soon as the match began, Todoroki froze the entire battlefield. Dark Shadow stood before its master and took the hit for him, preventing him from being frozen. Dark Shadow tunnelled out of the ice by digging with its claws until it was on the other side.

Todoroki quickly evaded its attempt to rush him. Dark Shadow kept coming and chasing Todoroki until they were near the border. Once Dark Shadow was far away enough, Todoroki froze it in place. He then sent another blast of ice at Tokoyami, who got frozen into place as well. He tried to break free, but lacked the raw strength and conditioning that Tetsu had developed from training with Izuku. He remained trapped.

Midnight looked to Tokoyami, prompting for an answer. "I can't get out!" replied Tokoyami.

"Tokoyami is unable to fight. Todoroki wins! He will be our third place finisher for the Tourney and win the bronze and a scholarship to attend UA next year!" stated Midnight.

"What a fight! Todoroki wins by clever use of feints to lure Dark Shadow away from its master. Give it up for him!" said Present Mic.

At the waiting room, Izuku presented Tetsu with a glass of water and iron supplements. "You're in the finals now. Take these to get ready," said Izuku.

"Thanks man! Time to stock up," said Tetsu, who downed the two tablets with a gulp of water.

With the rest of the matches decided, all that remained were the finals, which would decide who would take the gold in the Tourney. Tetsu and Bakugo stood across from each other, staring each other down. Tetsu had quite a beef with Bakugo's rude and arrogant behaviour, especially at the lunch room earlier. This was the perfect opportunity to settle the score. As soon as Midnight called for the match's start, Tetsu put up his Quirk, just in time to block Bakugo's first explosion.

Tetsu suddenly burst out of the smoke intent on smashing his foe's jaw. Bakugo quickly evaded and moved to the side. Tetsu followed and delivered punches which his foe evaded once again. Bakugo used an explosion to bounce away, stopping Tetsu momentarily with the blown up dust. He peppered Tetsu with more explosions while in the air, filling the battlefield with smoke. As the smoke cleared, Tetsu suddenly emerged and punched Bakugo in the jaw.

The explosive boy was not deterred and quickly backed away from his foe's following punches. He used an explosion to move himself to Tetsu's side, letting the steel boy charge into the brunt of it and get staggered. The fight between both boys was a lengthy and tiring affair of attacks and counters that left both fatigued. Bakugo's hands started to ache from absorbing the impact of so many of his explosions. Tetsu's Steel started to show gaps on his arm which exposed the flesh, leaving him more vulnerable to his foe's attacks.

It was now or never, so Bakugo proceeded to blast Tetsu with dozens of powerful explosions, one after the other. The whole battlefield got blown to rubble with smoke covering so much that no one could see what was happening. When the smoke finally cleared, Tetsu noticed that his Quirk had fallen and that he was sitting on the ground, past the boundary line. "SHIT!" he cursed, upon realizing that he had lost.

"Tetsu has been knocked out of bounds. Bakugo is our champion!" announced Midnight.

As the crowd cheered, Tetsu returned to the 1B waiting area to rest and recover. "There's no need to be ashamed. Getting second place is incredible, especially against someone as strong as Bakugo, and got you a scholarship to study at UA! How awesome is that? I'm proud of you, Tetsu!" said Izuku, patting his friend on the shoulder.

Tetsu nodded and smiled. "Thanks Midoriya," said Tetsu.

With the Tourney completed, the only two events remaining were the Support Item Judging and the Refreshment Sales. At the hallway which circled the central arena of the first-year stadium, numerous support items had been displayed in protective plastic cases along the wall. At the arena, a panel of judges watched as their creators showcased each of the items. The judges jotted down notes and decided to pin the first place ribbon on the hover boots made by Mei Hatsume of 1H, Team 1B.

"Awesome Hatsume! You did it!" said Izuku as he and Mei hugged at the bleachers.

"Thank you! You helped me so much to perfect this baby," said Mei.

Later on, accountants tallied the money garnered by the business classes after selling refreshments. After making sales in the Sports Festival, it was Class 1K of Team 1B which garnered the most money of the rival business classes. "That's awesome, Kashiko! You did it!" said Izuku when he heard the good news with the others of Team 1B at their waiting room.

"Thanks! We worked hard to sell those drinks and souvenirs. I'm glad it finally paid off," said Kashiko.

Once those events were completed and the results determined, the closing ceremonies were held in the first-year arena. "It has been a great Sports Festival this year, full of ups and down, but now it's time to close the event for the year. Here are this year's winners among the first years," said Present Mic.

The first event to be rewarded was Super Robot Wars. As the team which fielded the winner, Team Blue Bomber had gold medals placed on their necks by All Might. Among their four members was Mei Hatsume and Izuku Midoriya. "Great work young inventors! You have a promising career in robotics ahead of you," said All Might.

The second was Support Item Judging. Mei Hatsume was brought back to the stands and presented with her second gold medal by All Might. "Welcome back, young Hatsume!" said All Might.

"I'm glad to be back, All Might!" replied Mei.

"Not only are you good at robotics, you are a consummate inventor. You will excel no matter which field you enter," said All Might as he placed the gold medal around her neck, then gave her a hug.

The final medal presentation was for the Hero Tourney. Todoroki, Tetsu, and Bakugo received the bronze, silver, and gold medal respectively from All Might. "Good work, young Tetsutetsu. You showed fearlessness taking all comers head on, but that's not always the best way to handle things," warned All Might.

"That's the kind of guy I am. I take things head on!" replied Tetsu.

"You did show some cleverness against young Kirishima and Iida. Keep that in mind as you start your career," said All Might.

"I will. Thanks for the encouragement, All Might," said Tetsu, receiving his medal and a hug from All Might.

After presenting Bakugo with the gold and a hug, the judges tallied the points the two teams had earned from winning events. Team 1A had taken the Rescue Hero, Soccer, and Tourney events, while Team 1B got the Escort Race, Super Robot Wars, Support Item Judging, and Refreshment Sales. Since Team 1B had four points to Team 1A's three, Team 1B had been declared the winner of the Sports Festival.

"Great work, Team 1B. You proved that as a team, you were the best of the first years. Well done!" said All Might. "Now, can we get Tenya Iida of Team 1A to present the MVP award?" Iida joined Itsuka on the stage. "Now young Iida, who has Team 1A chosen as MVP for their team?"

"We've chosen Fumikage Tokoyami," replied Iida.

"Bring him up here and let's present him his medal!" said All Might.

As Tokoyami went up and accepted his medal, Team 1A reflected on how he got here. During the Escort Race he used Dark Shadow constantly to lift people over and past obstacles. For the Rescue Hero event, he used Dark Shadow to get people out of the burning building. In the Tourney, he had reached the semifinals, but ultimately fell to Bakugo, the eventual champion. Despite also losing to Todoroki in the tiebreaker match, his performance overall was too impressive to be ignored.

"You did much to help your team win their events. Hero work isn't just about beating up villains. You standing here proves that you understand that," said All Might.

"Thank you All Might," said Tokoyami as All Might placed the golden MVP medal around his neck.

All Might approached Itsuka. "Now young Kendo, who is your team's choice for MVP?" asked All Might.

"It was a close one, but we chose Izuku Midoriya of 1H," replied Itsuka.

"Well then, young Midoriya, come on down for your medal!" said All Might.

As Izuku went up to the stage, everyone reflected on what got him chosen as the Team 1B MVP. Much of his contribution was not only during the Sports Festival, but before it even arrived. He had helped 1B's students plan and train for their events, especially Tetsu, the runner-up of the Tourney. His Team Blue Bomber took Super Robot Wars and his sacrifice during the Escort Race bought his team the critical time needed to escape Bakugo, the toughest member of 1A's goon squad.

"Young Midoriya, you aren't a hero student, and your Quirk isn't one that would let you beat up villains, but today, you showed that people like you are far from useless. Quite the opposite, in fact. You played a crucial role in your team's victory that everyone should see your example and be inspired by it," said All Might.

"Thank you, All Might. You're the hero I've looked up to my whole life. Your words fill with me pride," said Izuku as he bowed his head to have the MVP medal placed around his neck.

All Might hugged Izuku, then separated to address the audience. "Here are your first year MVPs! Give it up for them!" announced All Might, standing back and presenting them to the audience for applause.
