Brooke booked the first appointment with her OB she could find. Lucas by her side. As she explained the reason for her visit.
The older woman explained what was going to happen next. And Brooke was given an ultrasound.
She talked about what was being seen step by step. Confirming the pregnancy.
"You are 7 weeks along Brooke." She proclaimed.
The expression on Lucas's face softened.
Brooke's eyes filled with tears.
"Yes we want to hear the heartbeat." Brooke said. Knowing she was far enough along to hear it.
Minutes later. The exam room filled with a loud sound.
Lucas was overcome with emotion and a strong level of protectiveness he hadn't expected.
"Healthy and strong. The embryo looks exactly like we expect."
"Congrats. I'm going to give you a prescription for vitamins i want you to take as soon as you fill it out. Throughout the pregnancy it's important for the baby's health." She explained to Brooke.
"We want copies of the ultrasound please." Lucas said.
"Of course. I'll be back." She said as she left the room.
Brooke gazed over at Lucas. Her heart fluttering. Gazing up at him lovingly.
"Mom and dad. Can you believe it Luke." Brooke said.
Lucas leaned over kissing her.
"I love the both if you more then anything. Nothing is more important then our new family." Lucas proclaimed.
The couple soon left the appointment and got brunch with each other. At a nearby diner.
"Chili fries. A burger. A milkshake thank you." Brooke said. Handing over her menu.
Lucas placed his order before handing over his own menu.
"I don't know what's come over me. That is not my normal order but once i read it over i had to have it." Brooke explained.
"You're pregnant. Cravings are going to happen." Lucas said with a a smile.
"We're having a baby." Brooke said beaming. Lucas leaned over kissing her.
The two were on cloud 9. In love. In synch. Ready for this new unknown chapter.
