Heavenly Punishment to Zentopia Top Man
(Seven Years Ago)
The scene shows of the former Fairy Tail guildhall sometime after the battle against the dark guild that was known as the Oración Seis, and there is a few people in the medical room where the older members are talking with the new girl known as Kinana.
"What?! You were changed into a snake?" Wakaba shocked to hear that.
"Yep! My memories from back then are pretty hazy, except for one thing… Someone I hold very dear made a special promise to me. Isn't that wonderful?" Kinana mentioned with a cute smile.
"A promise, huh?" Wakaba wondered what kind of promise this guy made with this girl here while Mira is happy that this girl is doing okay.
"He promised that even if we were torn apart, one day he'd come back on a shooting star to take me away from all of my worries!" Kinana explained with hopes of that promise being fulfilled.
"That's crazy talk." Wakaba pointed out, especially the shooting star part and other things.
"Hey Master, who is that girl?" Marco asked.
"Believe it or not, she was a snake a moment ago. While we were out and about, we spotted a snake that appeared to be afflicted by a curse." Makarov answered with an explanation.
"And when you lifted the curse, it changed into that little girl?" Wakaba asked, walking up the master.
"It was no easy task lifting it, that's for sure… and I don't know why it was placed. I tried my damnedest but I'm afraid she's still unstable." Makarov exclaimed a little, feeling the sense of failure for not being able to fully lift the curse.
"Explains her memory loss." Marco started to see that.
"I think it would be best if we kept an eye on her for the time being." Makarov decided.
"You're a helpful old fart, ain't no denying that!" Wakaba commented while Kinana is signing a paper from Mira.
"I'm concerned about the voice she keeps hearing. It pains me to say this, but… If her memories as a snake resurfaces, she may not have the brightest future ahead of her." Makarov feared the worse outcome for Kinana.
"Kid's got is rough." Marco sighed.
"Shame to think her future could be ruined by her own memories." Wakaba worried for the girl.
"Well then, we'll just have to make sure that doesn't happen." Makarov said.
And that was then Kinana would be protected from anything bad even if one of those things are her own lost memories.
(Present)
Kinana is sitting on the bed with a sad look on her face as she still couldn't remember anything about her past, Master Marco and Wakaba are there too for comfort.
"C'mom kiddo, try to keep your chin up. There's no reason to worry about the curse, okay? I promise no mater what happens." Marco tried to cheer up Kinana.
"I promise no matter what happens, we'll be here to keep you safe." Marco promised to the girl.
"Try to get some sleep while you can." Wakaba advised.
But Kinana was still looking down even though she knew Marco and Wakaba are looking out for her, and yet she couldn't shake the feeling that there is something else that is important to her as well.
(Natsu and Ikaros vs Byro)
Natsu screams as he throws another punch at the strong old man who blocks it with one arm though comes diving down for a kick to the head, Byro uses his staff to protect himself from the attack above, but the impact causes a small crack to appear on his staff.
"Gotcha!" Natsu threw a flaming knee-kick in the stomach pushing Byro back again.
"Curses… How is it that I'm being push back this much?" Byro asked groaning.
While Lucy and the others are watching the fight, there is something spooky and lurking not too far from the group. The appearance almost looks like a ghostly little girl.
"Don't…"
"Did you hear that or am I going crazy?" Lucy asked Michelle.
"No." Michelle didn't hear anything, and concern for Lucy.
"Are you okay, Lucy? Do you have a headache?" Nymph asked.
"No, I'm totally fine, I hope." Lucy said, hoped that voice she heard was just her imagination.
"Hey, old man!" Natsu called out which got Byro's attention.
"What you said before that you and your buddies are prepared to sacrifice your lives for your mission, huh? What a load of crap!" Natsu snapped.
"Life ain't something you just toss aside like garbage. You should protect it!" Natsu scolded, feeling a little angrier at this guy with his stupid mission talk and all.
"We fight for the lives of the people who we call friends. The bonds we share are what drive us! And push us to be better! Don't you know that friends aren't "thing" or "tools"? You can't just use 'em however you please! They're more important than that!" Natsu scolded loudly and his body burst of his fire.
"(Master, the more you talk, the more I can feel something more within me. The emotions you carry…)" Ikaros thought looked at her flaming master.
"I believe Master Natsu is correct, and your logic is false." Ikaros said and charges at Byro.
Byro tries to attack her with his staff only for the angel girl to strike her punch right on the spot where the cracks are with greater force, and then the head of the staff shatters into pieces which to his shock.
"She broke Lord Byro's staff!" Coco gasped.
"Oh man, never thought I would see it for myself!" Dan shocked as well.
Right after that, Natsu comes in with a flaming punch to the face and Byro suddenly felt a bit scared as he could also see a large red dragon right behind the boy and that left him vulnerable for the attack to land right on the face sending him crashing down.
"Yeah! How do you like that?" Natsu asked with a grin.
"Strange sensation… Looking upon you fills me with emotions I forgot a long time ago. Anger is at the forefront." Byro stated as he slowly gets back up.
"You yammer on about the sanctity of life, about the nobility behind your own vendetta, but you are nothing more than guild rats chasing coin. That you would compare your avarice to our holy mission belittles not only us, but the Archbishop and the ideals he represents." Byro lectured angrily.
"That's not true! We're not in this for the money, okay!" Lucy stated.
"Yeah, 'cause we've got plenty!" Happy added.
"Enough to pay rent and food?" Byro countered, which almost hurt Lucy and Happy.
"I'll admit we did have some struggling with the money issue before, but we've been doing fine recently." Lucy said.
"That's right, so we're good." Happy nodded.
"Not like you're the one to talk, you tried to steal Lucy's clock hand in the place." Natsu pointed out.
"And yet, we fail to do so and getting the clock pieces from you which I've grown tired of these failures." Byro glared at Coco and Dan, making them shiver in fear.
"This world is already saturated with chaos. The Infinity Clock's addition may not even be noticed. However, Zentopia's doctrine is to minimize that chaos, and to instead, show the people of this world the righteous course of action. The privilege of putting those ideals into practice falls on the Legion Platoon." Byro believed strongly, as that has always been for as long as he can remember, one could say he was born into this practice.
"Blah, blah! Add 'thou shall shut up' to your ideals." Natsu annoyed with that crappy talk.
"Master, take these candles to refuel yourself." Ikaros handed him several candles she got from around in this tomb.
"Thanks, I starting to feel a little hungry." Natsu smiled and eat the fires from the candles.
"You dare to desecrate these flames? Does your blasphemy know no bounds?!" Byro angered.
"If their plan is to piss Lord Byro off then they're doing a great job." Dan chuckled nervously.
"What, you gonna start lecturing me about my diet now? Don't bother, I already forgot most of the crap you were yammering on about." Natsu mocked as he threw the fireless candles away.
"But you made a grave error of using words like "live" and "friendship" thinking they are useless, and then you insulted Fairy Tail which my master does not like." Ikaros stated.
"That's right! Now my fists are gonna lecture your face!" Natsu grinned.
"Yes, you will be nothing but a crying child when we're through with you." Ikaros insulted with her usual straight face.
"They're both provoking him." Michelle pointed out.
"I expected Natsu to be doing the insulting words, but it looks like Ikaros picked some of that as well." Nymph deadpanned.
"As if the guy wasn't mad enough already." Lucy worried that Natsu and Ikaros are digging themselves too deep.
"That's Natsu for ya!" Happy said proudly.
"Awesome!" Romeo commented of how brave those two are being against that Byro guy.
(Zentopia)
A few several people wearing ragged cloaks are kneeling on a rocky cliffside, all on their knees and praying to Zentopia, but what they don't know is that something dark is happening over there.
"I can hear it… It's close now… The end is finally within our grasp!" A mysterious said to himself.
(With the Archbishop)
"The end is finally within our grasp! The end is finally within our grasp!" The Archbishop repeated and laughs insanely.
Outside from the Archbishop's room and within the structure of Zentopia, the priests and priestesses and nuns are feeling very worried for they've been hearing words about the Archbishop has not been feeling well.
"What is the Archbishop's condition?!" One priest asked worry.
"It hasn't improved at all." An elder priest answered, not liking this.
"But the Founding Festival is just around the corner." A priest with blonde hair reminded them of the festival the Archbishop is supposed to take part in.
"It can't be helped. The cardinals have convened, they're selecting the next Archbishop as we speak." One priest with a white bald-like cap believed.
"Don't be ridiculous." A man stated, getting the attention of everyone looking up at the top of the stairs that leads to the Archbishop's room.
"Cardinal Lapointe! When did you get back?" Another priest asked surprise.
"Replacing the Archbishop is utter nonsense." Lapointe stated, believes himself that no one can replace the wise Archbishop and knew that everyone should be focusing on something else.
Lapointe is a tall man with short gray hair and dark brown eyes covered by glasses without a frame. He wears the traditional Zentopia clothes - a navy blue cassock tied with a lighter sash, a necklace with Zentopia's symbol and a cloak, with gold parts. On his head, he wears a gold and navy-blue Mitre, which has the sigil of the Zentopia Church emblazoned upon it.
"I'm afraid that we are faced with a far greater problem right now." Lapointe informed.
"What do you mean, sir?" One nun asked.
"There are traitors to Zentopia in our midst." Lapointe revealed shocking the priests and priestesses.
"Unfortunately, the Infinite Clock has recently become public knowledge. As if that weren't enough, there are also the attacks on our churches. I am told these acts are work of an insider." Lapointe explained the situation which all the priests are in shock to hear this.
"My word…"
"Do you have any proof of this?" One green hair priest asked.
"Do you think I have cause to deceive you?" Lapointe asked back with a serious face but calm tone.
"No, of course not, sir." The green hair priest said, taking back that question.
"I am suspicious of the priest who survived one of these attacks. I wish to question him personally. Bring him to me at once." Lapointe ordered before turning around.
"Yes, your eminence!" The priest and nuns said in union.
"I'll tend to the Archbishop myself. From this point on, no one is to enter his chambers except me." Lapointe walked into the Archbishop's room.
(Natsu and Ikaros vs Byro)
"This is a Holy War!" Byro said as he threw an uppercut at Natsu knocking him away.
Ikaros comes in throwing a punch which Byro was able to counter with his own punch resulting in a clash of strength.
"The retrieval of the Infinity Clock, that sacred mission is the sole purpose of the Legion Platoon. The misguided principles of a measly guild can't even compare." Byro stated.
"You say it's misguided, but that is how the human heart runs through the very core as they say." Ikaros countered with her own logic and then the two jumps back from each other.
"Yeah, you tell him, Ikaros!" Lucy cheered.
"I can't believe Lord Byro is struggling in combat like this, I thought he would at least use at least one offensive spell." Coco surprised a bit more, and wondering why Byro isn't using any attack spells.
"Don't act so surprised, I mean, the man's strength is legendary. Only four others in all of Fiore can even stand up to him." Dan said on what he heard and knows.
"Even though both of you are neither weak nor helpless, you're still unfit to lead this world out of darkness." Byro believed in a mocking way.
"What did you say?" Natsu asked angrily and charges at Byro.
"Weak and helpless…" Michelle repeated those words to herself.
"A couple of coin-chasing wretches couldn't possibly understand what we fight for." Byro said as he blocks one punch from Natsu and pushes him to the side.
"In this world of misery, people will cling to anything that provides hope. And if that happens to be Zentopia, then cling to it they shall!" Byro stated.
"Does that logic also apply the Legion Platoon to do the same?" Ikaros asked.
"Was I saying not obvious?" Byro asked then blocking some punches from Ikaros.
"So, if the Archbishop orders us to find the clock, then that's what we'll do! If that order requires us to sacrifice ourselves or others to succeed, then so be it." Byro said before he managed to land a punch in Ikaros's face.
But Ikaros was unfazed by the punch then grabs Byro's arms to toss him away though he quickly recovers.
"It's our duty, the greater good must be served." Byro said right before blocking a flaming attack from Natsu's foot, but it was from behind as Natsu landed a punch on his back.
"I'm sorry, but I do not see the logic in your words." Ikaros said.
"She's right, we may not know much about all this Zentopia, but your logic is differently wrong because if your mission involves hurting the people around you, the very people you have sworn to protect, then it's just murder without a cause." Nymph stated.
"That's right, think about what you're doing." Lucy yelled.
"Ikaros the Angel, you mentioned about the human heart earlier. Let me tell you that acting on emotions is foolish, it solves nothing." Byro proclaimed.
"To reveal the course of righteousness, and to walk its path unfettered, we are faced with difficult decisions, and we are forced to make sacrifices." Byro explained while fighting off both Natsu and Ikaros at the same time.
Ikaros grab both of his hands to pull the older man forward for Natsu to come in with a fiery elbow in the face followed by a few jabs, but Byro broke free from Ikaros to punch Natsu away though Ikaros quickly catches him.
"The world is filled to the brim with contradictions, I believe we are all painfully aware of that fact. Therefore, it is only logically that the path I've chosen will end in sacrifice." Byro believed, but then Ikaros instantly appeared right in front of him and threw a stronger punch that send him flying.
"I believe I have had enough of your nonsense; it is time with finish this fight." Ikaros declared with a serious and slightly dark face.
"Master Natsu, ready your strongest attack while I set this man up." Ikaros suggested.
"You got it!" Natsu grinned as he starts powering up.
Ikaros starts moving faster than before, so fast that Byro is barely able to keep up as he could only see white-pink blurs around him. That means he could not defend himself when Ikaros started punching him all around him then punched him to send the man flying to Natsu who is about ready.
"Dragon Slayer Secret Art: Crimson Lotus: Fire Dragon's Fist!" Natsu unleashed his attack onto Byro, rapidly punches his target, with his hands lit ablaze, creating a fiery explosion after each subsequent contact then sent him flying high with one final punch.
"They did it!" Happy cheered as the others are happy for their victory while Coco and Dan are in utter shock to see that their leader has been defeated in combat like that.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
Words were exchanged during that battle which only seem to make Natsu mad and so has Ikaros making her give that old fart a good beating with Natsu landing the finishing blows, but I don't think Byro is gonna stay down for long.
