Chapter 22 - The Hunger - Part 2

"After Krizalid agreed with the idea to create a clone body of Ms. Kagura, I spended the next couple of days helping to stablish the lab that would be used." - Seirah
Krizalid is seem having brought alot of pieces from the weaponry of Terraxia to upgrade the lab, between him, Dr. Brown and Siruu, the group manages to build the required machines Krizalid needed following his orders
"It took some days to fully assemble the required machine, Krizalid, Siruu, Maxima and Dr. Brown have been taking care of the whole clonation process, alot of studies were done on Ms. Kagura's body." - Seirah
The now turned into a zombie Chizuru is seem sitting in the darkness
"Ms. Kagura has been very silent lately, even after her tests to extract blood and skin tissues from her body. I hope she is fine, I can understand her anger but with enough luck, soon her suffering should come to an end before we can focus on the main problem again." - Seirah
Chizuru is seem resting her head against the crystal of the containment cell, she looks at her own reflection... Hours pass, days go by as the investigation of Krizalid and the team continues, but Kagura doesn't remove her head from that
"Now I get it!" - Said Kagura having stared at the crystal of the cell for what were seven days without moving
Laboratory
"Hmph! Impressive..." - Krizalid is seem in front of a radiography of Kagura
"I think I'm starting to understand what could had changed her." - Krizalid
"What is it?" - Seirah
"The atmosphere of this planet, not only she was brought back to life forcefully, with her soul practically inhabiting a corpse now. But because of this effect, the atmosphere also caused Kagura's body to rot faster than what it should... She is alive but death at the same time." - Krizalid
"Well, Dr. Brown had theorized the atmosphere of the planet could have had a role in this "Metamorphosis" but I didn't believed him." - Whip
"But then, she is fully death?" - Whip
"Her entire body stopped working hours after she was brought back, is why she is as cold as she is, her organs have stopped worked by this point... Except one." - Says Krizalid rising one finger pointing at the head
"Her brain, somehow still survives, part of it has been affected by her body's descomposition, this is probably why she has been acting very irrational sometimes, however a part of it, still works, the most important part in charge of having control of the movement of her limbs. Is incredible, her entire bod is just answering thanks to her brain." - Krizalid
"Well it is said the brain is the most important organ in the body, isn't it? So that means?" - Whip
"Yes, you could say Kagura is half-inmortal in a way now... As long as nobody of our enemies realizes her head is her central spot. If she were to lost it, she would die for real this time... The head is what is keeping her being still alive, is where all the psychic energy Asamiya pumped on her body went to. This is something I never thought could happen." - Krizalid
"So let's recap, Chizuru was totally death when Athena found her, she being a good girl ended up doing her best to try to bring her back, pumping energy on her body but all of this went to her head, making her somehow return alive, though by the point she returned, her body was already starting to rot because of the atmosphere of the planet as normally a corpse takes around 24-48 hours to start to rot... Now making poor Ms. Kagura be stuck in this undead form." - Whip
"Yes." - Krizalid
"And her most important part now is her head, if she were to be decapitated or have her head destroyed, it would be her end." - Whip
Krizalid just nods
"But that leaves one question? Why she wants to kill us and eat our bodies?" - Whip
"The same organ that is keeping her alive has been affected, she returned to this primitive state... Kagura-Chizuru, she is having her mind and thoughts cloud by this strange primitive feeling of hunger. By this point, a primitive feeling of survival and hunger for anything despite her body not needing to eat." - Krizalid
"I get it, so with that all out of the way and finally understanding what exactly happened to her. Is there any way we can save her?" - Whip
"Is going to take a while to manage to create a perfect clone of her with such damaged genetic material, even the most stable lock of hair. I have to do alot of be able to create a cloned body that can be usable." - Krizalid
"And what happened to the previous fetuses?" - Whip
"All of them were failures! I already commented this to Brown and Siruu, the genetic material from her body is all messed up. My attempts to clone her have all resulted in them being stable at first only to rot shortly after a few hours, growing becoming the same type of beings Kagura is now." - Says Krizalid showcasing frustation
"Follow me!" - Krizalid brings Seirah to a small room where a capsule is seem
"This is all I have been able to create! Is worthless!" - Removing a sheet covering said capsule, Seirah is shocked by what she sees, a woman identical to Chizuru who sadly was starting to sport the same effects on her skin that Kagura was suffering now, rotting as if she had died too.
"Why is this happening? I don't understand." - Whip
"Creating a clone of a living being like you or me is one thing, Seirah but you're asking me to make a new body for someone whose cells have already been replaced and rot, I have spended days trying to clean up her genetic material, creating clone by clone. But all of the tests have been failures! All of her clones first born normal, only to have their bodies rot in a span of a few hours... Is almost like a curse!" - Krizalid
"(I'm so sorry, Ms. Kagura.)" - Seirah can't help but feel terrible about what is going on with Chizuru with her covering her mouth shocked crying by the image of this clone of Kagura also having rot becoming a living corpse too
"But I won't give up yet. I refuse to be bested by whatever this condition or curse is." - Says Krizalid surprising Whip
"..." - Whip
"Why are you still loyal to NESTS? They created you sure, but you don't need to be their slave anymore, have you ever wonder what is like to be free?" - Whip
"I have, yes." - Krizalid
"But my entire life, my entire purpose is to serve NESTS!" - Krizalid
"No, it isn't! Just look at us, we managed to free ourselves from their chains, out there, there's a world away from those metallic doors, from those cold and dreaded hallways, you don't have to keep living on as NESTS slave, Krizalid." - Whip
"When there's an entire world out there waiting for you! You could have a life, a real life!" - Whip
"I'm not like you or that dam-man, Seirah" - Says Krizalid thinking about K'
"Without NESTS... I'm nothing." - Krizalid
"Don't say that, for me you're not just a weapon. You're a living being, like me, like K', Kula, Maxima or everyone else here with us today. Don't waste this second chance at live in a pointless revenge quest for an organization that sees you as nothing but a expendable weapon... Come with us. At first it would be rough but with time, I believe you could get used to it." - Whip gives Krizalid her hand for the surprise of this one
"..." - Krizalid
"The past is in the past, Krizalid. We all know what is like to serve NESTS, if you allow your heart to for once live without being a tool of NESTS, you may realize what is like to be alive, what is like to be free." - Whip is surprised as Krizalid holds her hand suddenly
"I'll think about it, Seirah. After all, you're the only person I have that I can consider a relative. Now leave, I have to work." - Says Krizalid surprising Whip before leaving the room sporting this serious face
Days go by, hours where the team keep their research, the frustation is visible as many more failures come to the way of creating a perfect clone body of Kagura
"This is the latest one..." - Krizalid is seen standing alongside Siruu and Dr. Brown looking at the latest clone
"Incredible, it has already passed an hour and there's no any visible effects of the roting process making itself visible again." - Dr. Brown
"(Could it be? This could be the first stable body we have created?!)" - Siruu
"I don't believe it, we managed to create a clone of Kagura without her strange condition, her DNA... Is clean!" - Krizalid looks at the monitor where Kagura's cells are seem, they are alive and her cloned body sports actual working organs
The group had finally done it, create a clone of Kagura where they could transplant her brain and cure her
Meanwhile
Four shadows are seem making their way to Terraxia
"This better be worth it, invading an entire city just for this crystals." - Says one of the shadows before using a strange medallion to teleport themselves inside the city, trespassing the shield that covers the city
Two shadows are seem arriving at the room where the containment chamber of Kagura is, with this two shadows entering in the room
"Chizuru, you won't believe this but Dr. Brown and the rest, they did it! They managed to create a stable clone body..." - Mai
"Chizuru?" - Athena approaches the silent Kagura in the corner with her face on the crystal
"Huh?" - Only for her to realize her hand is passing through Chizuru's body with the fake Chizuru vanishing
"Call everyone else! Is an illusion!" - Athena leaves running out of the area to try to track down Chizuru
"(This is bad, Chizuru... How she got out of there, I hope she is somewhere nearby. Just when they finally managed to create a healthy body for her... Calm, calm, focus on finding before she does anything she will regret later.)" - Athena makes her way to the tower feeling the trail of the familiar chi of Chizuru
"(This tower, she must be somewhere around here.)" - Athena enters in the tower searching for Chizuru, with her not realizing a strange shadow is watching her through the crystal surfaces that cover the tower, the sanctuary where Siruu and her father live
A hand is seem coming out of one of the crystals approaching Athena
"Huh!" - Athena turns around having felt something close to her but now there's nothing
"(I could swear there was someone behind me... How she did this? How she escaped! Oh I should had know a mere glass prision wasn't going to hold a woman as strong and smart as her! Chizuru, why is this happening? This shouldn't had happened... Is all my fault.)" - Athena
"Chizuru... I know you're here, please come out! I have some good news." - Athena keeps walking through the place only to find something on the ground catching her eyes
"(Is that? The straightjacket Siruu's guards put on her!)" - Athena kneels to look at the straighjacket abandoned here, this wasn't a good signal
"Chizuru! Please come out from wherever you're hidding, I want to help you!" - Athena
"As you wish!" -
In that moment Athena heard a voice, she turned only to see the image of the zombified Kagura leaping at her from the inside a one of the crystals decorating the room
"(How? She came from the crystal?)" - Athena manages to crouching dodging the attack, she sees Kagura jump backwards inside another of the crystals smiling
"Chizuru! When did you learn to do that?!" - Screams Athena having no choice but starting to move away from the crystals
"Hahahaha! I bet you would like to know... You really thought a cage made out of glass and a puny straighjacket were going to hold me back, Athena?" - Chizuru
"No, in fact this is what I feared!" - Athena
"I don't want to fight you, Chizuru." - Athena
"That's a shame because I want to tear you apart!" - In that moment Kagura appears from another crystal trying to catch Athena but this one teleports dodging her
"Come here, little rabbit! I'm going to treat you well, once I have you in my claws. Considerate this as me repairing you in kind for this!" - Chizuru's voice is heard again coming from the crystals
"Chizuru, you're not thinking straight! Please, come out of those crystals! There's something I need to-Argh!" - Athena is interrupted as the enraged Kagura comes from another crystals managing to hit the shoulder of Athena
"Argh!" - Athena looks with a frustated expression at the crystal where Kagura entered
"If you won't listen by words, then you let me no choice!" - Athena starts breaking the crystals for the anger of Chizuru who growls losing part of her movement options
"Damn it, Athena!" - Chizuru's voice is heard again after Athena breaks the crystals only leaving the one in the cieling left
"Is over, Chizuru. Drop yourself in and stop this madness, I just want to help you." - Athena looks at the crystal in the cieling knowing that's the only the one where Chizuru could be hidding
"Help me?" - Chizuru
"Did you said help me?!" - Chizuru
"ARGH-what?" - Athena is surprised as from the broken bits of the glass windows she broke, the image of Chizuru is seen, she holds Athena by her feet with such strength managing to make her fall on the ground
"If I'm in this state is because of you!" - An angry Chizuru comes from the pieces of the broken glass avalancing herself on top of Athena having her at her mercy finally
"..." - Athena and Kagura interchange looks in silence as Athena despite being at the mercy of Chizuru, can't feel nothing but sadness of the creature she has become now
"You're right, I was the one who turned you into this." - Athena
"You know it well, this is all your fault. I told you to leave me to rest in peace and you dared to interrupt my rest!" - Chizuru
"You have no idea how much I'm going to enjoy tearing that sweet soft meat of yours..." - Chizuru tries to intimate Athena wanting to see terror in her eyes but the only thing she finds is sadness
"I couldn't bear to let you die there. I want everyone of us to return home... I know deep down, you always wanted to be free out of those responsabilities of your clan. But your strength and mental will before this happened, before Mizuki got to you, was something I always admired." - Athena
"You were the wisest and smartest woman I knew, when we talked in the past, I couldn't help but wish I had a sister like you. Someone wiser, someone kind, a shoulder I could count on to talk and be my confident. My twin star..." - Athena
"When I found Mizuki had got to you, I was devastated on the inside, I wanted to free you at all costs. That's why I opposed to Kyo when he suggested me to not go for you. I-I wanted to help, because I knew a sweet and kind woman like you didn't deserve this. You gave your life to your clan's duty for so long, making aside alot of stuff you wanted." - Athena
"It is true... But that was because I made a promise to my sister." - Chizuru
"I have been grieving over her for years! You have no idea how does it feel to celebrate your birthday remembering hers was the same day as mine, it feels like being incomplete. Nothing but a reminder of my biggest failure, the most miserable day of the year for me." - Chizuru
"But-" - Athena
"Throw all the parties, the gifts, whatever you want... Money can't bring her back... Nothing can bring her back!" - Chizuru
"I suspected that was the case. But you don't need to keep holding this pain in your heart anymore." - Athena
"The only thing I had was honor her memory by becoming the woman she was, that's all. What is there for me now as this, Athena?" - Chizuru
"There's more than what you think." - Athena
"But if you want to kill me to satisfy this anger you feel, if this is the only way we can be even..." - Athena
"Go ahead! I won't oppose resistance anymore." - Says Athena with a blank stare seeing Kagura rising her hand
*Smooch* - But instead of killing her, Kagura grabs the head of Athena smacking her unexisting lips against hers sharing a kiss with the idol as Athena opens her eyes widely
"If only I could cry anymore. I would be crying." - Chizuru
"You said they made a clone body that is stable?" - Chizuru
"Yes, they did. If the operation is successful, you could be human again." - Athena
"Even if the experiment of Krizalid fails, we can keep fighting. Win this and use that wish to return everything how it was before, including you, Chizuru." - Athena
"Take me to them." - Says Chizuru as she hugs Athena with this two getting up
The women return with the rest as Chizuru rises her hands at being pointed out by Siruu's guards and their weapons
"Wait, she is going to cooperate on her own, don't threaten her." - Athena
"I'm sorry, Athena. But we can't risk ourselves with Ms. Kagura while she is in this state." - Whip
"Is alright, Athena. I'll be alright." - Chizuru
"Alert! Alert! Intruder!" - A robotic voice is heard interrupting everyone
"What is going on?" - Whip
"An intruder? Here?" - Kyo
"(In the treasure room! Someone must be here for the King's crystals!)" - Says Siruu
Meanwhile
Two shadows are seem breaking the ventilation conduct entering in the lab, with this two shadows being revealed as not other than Botan and Allen O'Neil
"Alright, we have to take some of these components. Shion and Kusanagi are taking the crystals." - While Botan and Allen start dismantling the machines in the lab, taking some key pieces they notice something a body covered on a sheet on top of a table
"Huh?" - Botan
Botan removes the sheet, only to see a nude Chizuru Kagura unconcious
"Is that?" - Allen
"Kagura!" - Botan
"But Mizuki said she was dead! What is she doing here?" - Botan
"Someone of their group must had recovered her body, seems she is dead to me." - Allen
"Hehehehe... Well in that case, lets make sure it stays that way!" - Botan pours some alcohol on top of the body of the apparently dead Kagura
"Have a pleasant trip to hell, Chizuru! Hahahaha!" - Botan lights up a match to burn the cloned body of Chizuru
"Let's get out of here, Allen. We have what we wanted." - Says Botan as they burn the entire lab
"Another alert in the lab!" - Whip
"Isn't that where the clone body is?" - Kyo
"Yes, we need to get there." - Leona
"Hey, wait a moment!" - Whip goes to where the guards that were supposed to take Kagura were, seeing their weapons and equiptment in the ground
"She is gone again!" - Whip
Meanwhile
From the reflective surface of a crystal door, the image of Chizuru is seen, sporting her normal appearence using her illusions
"WHAT?!" - Chizuru is shocked seeing the cloned body that was supposed to be her new body burning, she tries to calm the flames but she fails seeing the totally cremated body and worse of all the machine were that clone was created all dismantled and destroyed
"Grrr! No! My only chance to be human again... That smell!" - Kagura suddenly realizes there's a trail of a strange smell, some kind of cheap cologne
"You!" - The image of Botan appears in Chizuru's mind recognizing that smell from the last time they fought
"Keep running! We are almost out!" - Botan
"What is that?" - Suddenly both Botan and Allen O'Neil see a wall of strange green and blue orbs in front of them in the hallway, the orbs suddenly start moving towards them
"What the hell!" - Botan creates a wall out of her strings to block the orbs, with the strange orbs exploding coming in contact with the wall
*Cack* - The sounds of some footsteps are heard as a shadow appears behind Botan and Allen approaching
"Huh?" - Botan
"YOU!" - Botan turns around as the shadow is revealed to be not other than a normal looking Chizuru Kagura
"Shouldn't you be dead?" - Botan
"Perhaps I'm, to think a miserable pair of worms like you two would show their noses here, you and your group of scum must be planning something." - Chizuru looks at the bags both carry with them
"Hmph! For a dead woman, you talk to much." - Allen
"Hehehe! Oh my, where was this attitude the last time we fought, Chizuru? Do you really feel confident or are you too stupid to think you can take on both of us at the same time?" - Botan
"I have nothing to lose anymore... Botan. This won't be like that time in 2003." - Chizuru
"Y-you remember it?" - Botan is surprised as Chizuru doesn't look confused at her anymore
"I remember everything! The humillations, what you did to me, how you forced me to create a copy of my dear sister and a twisted copy of Kyo using the forbidden spell of my clan. You dared to cross boundaries! You dared to made a fool out of me and my clan!" - Chizuru
"I did it! Even back there, you were nothing but a miserable woman, a poor little child screaming for dear big sister Maki. You were so pathetic back there, that taking ahold of your little brain was super easy." - Botan
"Remember all the fun we had together while we planned that tournament?" - Botan smiles seductively
"SHUT UP! You did what you wanted with me! You used me and dared to break the seal for that damn man, Mukai." - Chizuru
"Well color me surprised. And what are you going to do about it?" - Botan
"I'm going to stop you both!" - Chizuru
"You're quite the comedian, Chizuru." - Botan
"Fine, lets play a little, you pathetic stupid witch!" - Botan gives her bag to Allen
"Take this back to Rugal, I'll stay and give our loud mouth friend here a taste of tru pain." - Botan
"Ha! If you say so, have fun!" - Allen jumps as Botan throws a smirk at Kagura
"Oh don't worry, it will be like the good ol' days, isn't it Chizuru?" - Botan
"You damn bitch!" - Chizuru runs to attack Botan but Botan answers to Chizuru's sudden attack rising her leg delivering a powerful and painful kick to Chizuru's mouth
"ARGH!" - Chizuru is send back rolling with blood coming from her nose
"Poor little Chizuru, you're not the Kusanagi brat or the idol, you're nothing to me-Huh?" - Botan is surprised as Kagura rises her head as the illusion keeping her face as if she was normal is broken
Chizuru gets up shivering leaving her real form show apart of sporting a messed up jaw now to the side product of Botan's kick almost hanging out
"(What the hell? Is she... Dead?)" - Botan
"Alright, you will get the first hit." - Chizuru grabs her dislocated jaw and with such strength she pulls it back to its place
*Crack* - Chizuru fixes her jaw in such grotesque way with her totally pale eyes without pupils now looking firmly at Botan
"Where we were." - Chizuru
"What the hell happened to you?" - Botan
"Let's just say I had a little accident, but you should be worried more about yourself!" - Chizuru
The angry Kagura jumps attacking Botan with a powerful palm strike, she manages to strike Botan with her following up using her 212 Katsu: Shinsoku no Norito, repeating the attack twice on Botan who only manages to block the last hit
"You stupid witch! You think only because of a little bravado you can defeat me? I know how you and your miserable clan of mediocre wizards operate!" - Botan
"Watch your mouth! I will kill you for this disrespect for my clan!" - Chizuru
"Oh please. You wouldn't kill even a fly with your pathetic skills, imbecile!" - Botan jumps using her strings to approach Kagura using a knife to slash her shoulder
"Die!" - Botan delivers a kick to Chizuru, Kagura is seem back with her rolling recovering
"I'll make you regret having dared to control me!" - Chizuru
In the treasure room, Shion and Kusanagi are seem doing their best against Kyo, Ryo, Kaede, Nakoruru and Athena
"You two should give up, there's no place where you can run!" - Kaede
"Oh and who is saying we want to run!" - Shion
"You fools are just making things easier for us! - Kusanagi uses his Orochinagi to create this circle of fire to attack Kyo and the group who is forced to back off as Shion and Kusanagi stay inside
*Click* - In the moment Athena hears the sound of a weapon, she turns only for millons of bullets to be seen approaching her and the group
"Guys look out!" - The idol jumps in front of the group using her psycho reflector with them seeing who had broke the door being not other than Allen O'Neil carrying his M240 opening fire
"You all are nothing but weakiings!" - Says Allen appearing carrying this bag with him
"O'neil! There you are but where's Botan?" - Shion
"The little missy decided to stay behind, she said she had pending accounts with that witch Yata." - Allen
"Chizuru!" - Kyo, Nakoruru and Athena
"She will reagroup with us once she beats her..." - Allen
"I see, oh that woman. Let her have her fun then. After all she has her own way to return!" - Shion, Allen and Kusanagi pull out this strange medallions sporting a strange eye in them that results familiar to Nakoruru
"What are those artifacts?" - Nakoruru
"We would like to stay and play a little longer with you losers, but we have to go, bye!" - Shion, Allen and Kusanagi disappear in front of the eyes of the group
"Damn it! They escaped." - Kaede
"Quick, we have to get back to the lab, Chizuru must still be fighting Botan!" - Athena
Kagura and Botan are seem on each other's throats as Botan jumps throwing some knifes at her, then she becomes invisible only fo her to then move her strings, enveloping Kagura's neck with it trying to choke her
"Nice try!" - Chizuru hits Botan using the back of her head making Botan be forced to be visible again bleeding from her nose
"Take this!" - Chizuru uses her Rimen 1 Katsu: Sanrai no Fujin on Botan
"ARGH!" - Botan rolls using one of her strings to impale Kagura in the chest
"Take this! You disgusting creature." - Botan smiles
"..." - But for Botan's surprise, the calm Kagura just takes a look at her chest pulling the knife out of her body as if nothing
"What are you even?" - Botan
"I don't feel any kind of pain anymore. Is true what they said, I'm basically nothing but a reanimated corpse." - Chizuru realizes the cut was really deep managing to impale her heart, yet she didn't felt nothing
"Die!" - Botan appears behind Chizuru impaling her with more knifes but Kagura barely reacts as she turns grabing Botan's arm disarming her
"You on the other hand." - Chizuru slashes Botan's chest making this one bleed right there as this one move backwards after recieving such cut
"Argh!" - Botan feels a excruciating pain tripping herself
"I won't give you the satisfaction to beat me!" - Botan grits her teeth getting up quickly to hit Chizuru with all her strings holding this sharps knifes but when she was about to strike Kagura, this one jumps back using the reflective surface of the knife from the ground
"What?" - Botan
The surprised Botan wonders where Kagura went, looking everywhere until she realizes something
"..." - Botan rises up the knife in her hand looking detailed at the surface
"AGRG!" - A hand comes out of the knife holding Botan's throat with force, not other than the zombified arm of Chizuru
"argggg!" - Chizuru quickly slashes Botan's throat making her throw the knife in the ground with Botan moving backwards in desperation as the terrifict image of Chizuru coming out of the small knife is seem
"Stay back!" - Botan
"Stay away!" - Botan drags herself backwards pulling out this strange medallion
*Zap* - But Kagura quickly throws a knife at Botan's hand injuring it making her drop the medallion
Botan tries to reach it but Kagura steps on said object, kicking very far from Botan's reach
"Damn freak! I'm going to make you pay for this!" - Angry Botan tries to use her strings to get a hold of Kagura's body
"..." - But the strings fall instantly the moment they connect to Kagura's body
"Now I understand, your strings, they can control anything that is alive. Anything that breaths and lives as a normal "alive being" can become your slave, but you can't control something that is dead... I'm dead, hence why your strings don't work on me." - Kagura sees Botan using her strings to try to rip her apart but she easily grabs them pulling Botan towards her with such strength
"(This can't be! I'm actually shivering... I'm actually afraid of this woman? I made her my bitch years ago! How can I be scared of her?)" - Where the thoughts of Botan losing her confident smug expression now being pulled towards Chizuru
"AH!" - Botan cuts her own strings using the knife with her droping alot of blood from her hands by doing this as she tries to escape
"Stay away from me!" - Botan screams covering herself with her own strings in a last attempt at fighting back
Kagura holds Botan by her face, slamming her to the ground as a memory of Botan doing this to her in 2003 flashes in both women's minds
"Wh-What are you going to do to me?" - Botan
"We will see about it... Say you know what time is?" - Chizuru smiles looking at the defenseless Botan
"No! You can't do this to me! You will regret this humillation, you damn mediocre witch! You damn bitch! You don't have the guts-Argh!" - Screams Botan as having had enough of her babbling, Chizuru rips her arm with both shadows being seen
"You know what they say, Botan. An eye for an eye!
