Later that day, at a warehouse on the edge of the city. A certain mysterious idol finishes her set with a bow as all of the stage lights fixate on her while the crowd of women before her cheer with thunderous applause. With their cheers dying down, she slowly stands up and starts to wave while smiling brightly back at all of her adoring fans, though when she notices someone standing in the shadows near the stage, she couldn't help but smile while saying, "no need to be shy!"
As the person starts to leave the shadows, the idol continues to smile brightly while continuing, "I am so happy you could come! I was…. Expecting…."
For reasons unknown to the audience, the idols sentence slowly trails off and with a look of shock, she mutters, "wha-why are you here?"
Her eyes go wide as she watches the person step out of the shadows and while sporting a look of intrigue, Shido replies, "well I heard a rumour that one of the most beautiful idols in the city was having a concert, so I wanted to come and check it out."
For some strange reason, the idol stands there frozen in place which causes the audience to fall silent and look over at what she was looking at. Deciding to ignore this, Shido continues to look at the idol and with a warm smile, he tells her, "I'm glad to see the rumours were correct."
Satisfied with how his pickup line landed, Shido continued to smile at the idol, but this is slowly replaced with a look of confusion when he notices the idol still standing there with a shocked look on her face. Confused as to what was happening, Shido was about to ask, but before he could, he hears someone from the audience asking, "is that a boy?"
A bit caught off guard by the question, Shido looks over at the audience, only to realize that all he saw was girls without a boy in sight. Realizing something was off, he looks back at the idol, who at this point had started to tremble, and asks, "uh, is something wrong?"
Instead of replying to his question, the idol continues to look at him wide eyed but was able to mutter, "g-get away from me."
Again, he was confused by the statement, but with a look of determination, he takes a step forward while telling her, "I'm sorry, but I can't…."
Unfortunately for him, he gets cut off by the girl, who had stopped shaking, look back at him with a mixture of disgust and rage while saying coldly, "I said….GET AWAY FROM ME!!!!"
With a massive shockwave emanating from her, he didn't have time to react as the wave slams into him and sends him flying. After a dozen or so feet, Shido rolls to a stop and lies on his back, out cold.
An unknown amount of time has past when a faint groan could be heard from Shido who continued to lay on the floor. He slowly opened his eyes and while looking up at the ceiling, he tells himself, "Ouch, that hurt."
While sitting up and starting to look around, Shido was confused by the eery silence he found himself in which causes him to ask himself, "What the? Why is it so quiet?"
As he continued to look around, the silence was finally broken by the sound of a voice mixed with static shouting in his ear, "Shido! Shido, you there?"
Caught off guard to hear Kotori shouting at him, Shido responds, "yeah, I'm here."
With a relieved sigh, Kotori responds, "thank god, I was worried we lost you."
As he continued to look around at the now deserted warehouse, a confused Shido asks, "do you know what happened?"
After a brief pause, Kotori replies, "well, based off of her vital signs, you definitely blew it."
Annoyed to hear this, he couldn't help but sigh then responds while rubbing his forehead, "yeah I figured."
With what had happened still fresh in his memory, he becomes confused while asking, "but I don't get it? I barely talked to her. So why would she react like that?"
Seemingly as confused as he was, Kotori responded, "no idea. But that's not important right now. What is is finding her."
After getting to his feet, Shido starts walking to the exit while listening to Kotori tapping on her screen in the background, then tells him, "The others are still searching, but it looks like idol got away."
While stopping outside of the warehouse, a feeling of annoyance and disappointment growing within him, Shido couldn't help but sigh then tells her, "Damn it. And I actually made a cool entrance.
Before he could go anywhere though, Shido gets caught off guard by a strangely familiar voice behind him asking, "Shido?"
A bit surprised to hear a family voice at a time like this, Shido slowly turns, only to become confused as to who he saw being somewhat hidden by the shadow from the overhead streetlight, confused enough to ask, "Burchard? What are you doing here?"
Just like he said, a casually dressed Burchard walked up to him while sporting an equally as confused expression while replying, "a friend of mine said there was some sort of secret concert that she thought I'd wanna check out. what are you doing here?"
A bit surprised by the question, especially with everything that had just happened, Shido tried his best to smile innocently back at him while replying, "oh me? Well, I just felt like taking an evening stroll."
Confused to hear this, Burchard couldn't help but look around at the practically deserted industrial area with confusion then looks back at him with a raised eyebrow while asking, "all the way out here?"
With a look of embarrassment, Shido started to awkwardly scratch the back of his head while replying, "guess I was enjoying the walk too much notice where I was going."
Seeming to be a bit sceptical of this, Burchard continued to look at him with a suspiciously raised eyebrow while responding, "uh huh….."
Before Burchard could ask further, their 'unique' conversation was interrupted by one of the spirits, who had ended their search for idol, landing directly behind Burchard and with a feeling of annoyance, says, "disappointment: Yuzuru could not find the spirit anywhere."
For reasons unknown to her, Shido started to look over at her with a horrified look but before she could ask, she hears a horrifyingly familiar voice come from the shaded person she didn't realize was there asking, "Yuzuru?"
She had no time to do anything as Burchard looked back at her with a smile while asking, "what are…. You…."
Unfortunately for them both, his question trails off with his smile leaving him and is instead, replaced with a look of confusion as looked at her wearing her quite revealing astral dress while asking in a slightly embarrassed tone, "uh… why are you dressed like that?"
No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't move nor think of anything to say that could get her out of this situation, and instead simply stood there frozen with the only thing she could do was prey that he didn't recognize her outfit, but as his eyes grew wide and his gaze filled with confusion, she knew what he was going to say next, "the nightmares I've been having, the nightmares of me being attacked by someone on a beach…."
With a look of realization, he continued, "Yuzuru…. It wasn't a dream, was it?"
All she could do was stand there silently and no matter how hard she desperately tried, no reasonable response left her lips but unfortunately for her, her silence was the only answer he needed and with a feeling of sadness starting to grow within him, all he could do was turn away while saying, "I can't believe this."
Though she was frozen in place up until this point, seeing him walk away was enough to snap her out of this and a now desperate Yuzuru reaches for him while saying in a frantic tone, "plea: wait! Please don't go! Let Yuzuru explain."
She was just able to grab his arm but as she took hold of him, she's caught off guard to see him smack away her hand then as he turns towards her, she was shocked to see the tears In his eyes that contrasted the rage he was looking back at her with as he shouts at her, "don't touch me!!!"
With his words causing her to simply stop in her tracks, all she could do was stand there silently as he continues with a fiery rage, "you attacked me!!! you almost killed me!!! But that's not even the worst part."
The tears in his eyes start to trickle down his cheeks with him forcing himself to stay calm while saying in a strained voice, "the worst part is that you lied to me…. The worst part is you've been lying to me this whole time. I have no memory of anything past a week ago, but you knew."
After taking a deep, calming breath, he focuses on her and with a look of determination, continues, "you've known me for God knows how long and not only that, but you've even been lying to me about having feelings for me."
Though his words cut her deep, being accused of lying about her feelings for him hurt the most, but even with this pain growing in her heart, she was able respond in a shaky tone, "rebuttal: you are right, Yuzuru has lied to you for as long as you can remember and it has been one of Yuzuru's greatest regrets…. but she has never once lied about her feelings for you."
Though tears start to trickle down her cheeks, a look of determination crosses her face and with her clenched fist shakily pressing against her heart, she continued, "from the day Yuzuru discovered her true feelings for you, she…."
"DON'T GIVE ME THAT!!!"
The once peaceful night was shattered by Burchard, who after hearing her words, had finally snapped as he continued with tears rolling down his cheeks, "you just told me you've been lying to me this whole time!!! You've lied to me since the moment we met, for as long as I can remember. Hell, you were probably lying to me even before that!!! So why the hell should I believe any word you say!!!"
His words cut her deep, and hurt so much that it felt like her heart was starting to crack, yet she was still just barely able to hold on. That is…. Until he finally looked away, and with as much strength as he could muster, he was able to tell her in a disappointed tone, "and to think I was falling in love with you…."
Shatter.
Those words, those words that she had hoped, that she had prayed she'd never hear, caused her heart to shatter. In an instant, all her strength had left her, and with her legs shaking uncontrollably, she collapsed to her knees. Wether he didn't notice this or simply didn't care didn't seem to matter to him since he never looked back, and instead simply walked away without a word.
With tears uncontrollably falling down her cheeks, Yuzuru was forced to watch him storm away. Though she tried her best to move, it seemed as if her knees were now fuzed to the road, leaving her only able to desperately reach out to Burchard, who was now slowly disappearing from view and as he stormed away all she could do was whimper, "plea: Please, Yuzuru is begging you…."
With her plea falling on deaf ears and raining starting to fall, Burchard disappearing from view, Yuzuru's outstretched arm slowly drops and with tears starting too uncontrollably fall down her cheeks, she continues, "I'm begging you…. Please don't go."
