Hey guys, how have you been?

Well, should've had this update last week but been distracted from the new Zelda game where you finally play as the princess and Link needs to be rescued!

And so far, it's good, and adorable!

Also, I went back to draw but a need a little practice since it's been forever that I have drawn… well, I only draw on the laptop with the mouse, but now I have a drawing pad so need practice on that one as well.

So, hopefully, I can upload my drawings in deviantArt soon.

To those that send me about offering their art services, may I ask to wait until I have less doctor's appointments.

Well, that is my rant, so enjoy the chapter guys!

Back to the duel…

'If I can't block his next attack, I'll lose,' thought Yami. "I summon Big Shield Gardna (100/2600) in defense mode."

He gritted his teeth, 'I can only try to survive this turn.'

"So, you're playing defense… you think you can cower behind that shield to escape my sorcerer's next attack, but it won't work," said Pandora. "At the end of your next turn, your legs will come off below the knee! Try dueling then!"

Yami narrowed his eyes.

"It's my turn! I'll summon Doll of Demise (1600/1700)," said Pandora. "And this is the spell card that will kill you! The spell, Ectoplasmer!"

'No! Not that card!' Yami thought, widened eyes.

"This card can extract ectoplasm, soul energy from a monster and use it as a weapon!" Pandora said with glee. "And it'll go right through your wall!"

Yami widened his eyes, "You're going to sacrifice your monsters' souls!?"

"Of course! Sure, the monster whose soul is extracted will die," Pandora grinned, "But if that's what it takes to win, it's a small price to pay!"

Pandora was unaware that his magician looked at him with a disbelief look on his face while Yami gritted his teeth.

"Here goes! My servants, Dark Magician and Doll of Demise will be converted to ectoplasm!" Pandora said.

Yami clenched his hand into a fist.

"Extract ectoplasm!" Pandora said as the spell card drain the Doll of Demise's soul. "Fire!"

The pure energy passes right through Big Shield Gardna and struck Yami, reducing the older Muto's life points.

Yami: 1500 to 700

'One more hit and I'm dead,' thought Yami as the circular saw got closer to him.

"Yami, do you know why you couldn't beat me, despite your impressive skills?" Pandora asked with arrogance. "I'll tell you! You lacked the ruthlessness to be a true Master of Magicians! You coddled your slaves! You can't trust them!"

"You're wrong, you scum!" Yami snapped.

"If I'm wrong, why is your slave trapped and chained on the cross? It's because you cared so much about protecting it!" Pandora said. "You are a fool! A monster is nothing, but a pawn and pawns must be sacrificed!"

Yami glared at Pandora.

"Now, my servant! Give me your life so that I can win! Your master demands it!" Pandora ordered.

The red magician glared angrily at him before his soul was taken and became pure energy, right into the spell card.

"Fire!" Pandora said.

"Pandora… can't you hear your monster is crying," murmured Yami.

"Just die!" Pandora said with a grin.

The energy shot out of the card, bypassing Yami's defense monster again and straight to him.

But to their surprise, Yami's own Dark Magician begins to glow. The purple magician's soul was also drained, and blocked Pandora's attack.

'Dark Magician,' Yami thought in disbelief.

'What!? His magician turned to ectoplasm by its own will?!' Pandora thought in shock.

The two energies clashed, resulting in the two cancelling each other.

'Dark Magician… you sacrifice yourself… for me,' thought Yami, softly.

'I designated my magician as the target of the spell, but his magician was affected as well, but Yami never told it to protect him,' thought Pandora. 'Does this mean… a card… by its own will… became a shield for a player?!'

"It takes more than ruthlessness to win, Pandora… but don't worry, I'll be ruthless to you!" Yami gritted his teeth, 'Dark Magician… your sacrifice will not be wasted!'

'I sacrifice my magician to kill him, but it failed. Well, at least I got rid of his Dark Magician. I still have two more Dark Magicians in my deck,' Pandora gritted his teeth, "I set a card and end my turn."

"…Yami, I know you don't have another Dark Magician in your deck, but I have two left to defeat you! The title of Master is as good as mine!"

"We'll see about that, Pandora. If you were a real Master of Magicians, your ears would've been filled with the cry of the soul – of the card you sent to its death!" Yami said seriously.

"I don't hear anything! Just the sweet sound of the circular saw getting closer to you!" Pandora said, laughing. "Yami, you're down to 700 life points! When it reaches zero, the circular saw will chop you in half!"

Yami looked down at the circular saw.

"And I will complete the greatest escape trick of the century!" Pandora said.

"Only the cards know the way this battle will end! My turn!" Yami said.

Yami: 700 / Pandora: 1500

'Pandora may have no monsters, but his set cards are what worries me,' thought Yami. "I summon Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts (1500/1200) …"

Pandora let out a vile grin, 'You're so eager – to die!'

"The trap card, Shadow Balance! This trap card activates when you summon a monster. It weighs the number of my monsters against the number of yours… and makes yours equal to mine," explained Pandora.

Yami gritted his teeth, "In other words, your trap card will destroy all my monsters!"

"How right you are! Balance's Judgment!" Pandora said.

A large scale appeared in the middle of the arena, taking Yami's monsters and destroying them.

"Now we both have no monsters on our fields. And right after you summoned… I'm so sorry. My turn!" Pandora grinned upon seeing what card he drew, 'With this card, I can't lose!'

'Since we both don't have any monsters, the first person to summon one will win,' thought Yami.

"You played right into my grasp!" Pandora said.

Yami just stared at him with caution.

"Because I have a card that can summon a high-level monster in an instant!" Pandora said.

'He wiped out all the monsters on the field because he has a special summoning card in his hand!' Yami thought.

"Are you ready? I activate the spell card, Dark Magic Curtain!" Pandora said.

Yami widened his eyes, 'Not that card!'

"I pay half my life points to summon a Dark Magician from my deck," said Pandora.

Pandora: 1500 to 750

"Welcome back, my Dark Magician!" Pandora said.

Another red magician appeared on Pandora's field.

"Hehe, well, Yami… who has the perfect magician deck, now? Speed of attack… speed of summoning… spell cards… in every way, my deck is superior to yours!"

Pandora grinned with a vile look on his face, "You must admit I am the True Master of Magicians – the ultimate Archmage!"

Yami glared and gritted his teeth.

"You don't have a single monster on your field… when I give my Dark Magician the word, he will strike you down and I'll win!" Pandora said. "However, your only hope is those set cards… no doubt they're trap cards…"

Yami looked down at his two set cards.

"So, I'm going to get rid of them – with the spell card, Anti-Magic Arrows!" Pandora said.

Yami widened his eyes, 'Not good!'

Massive arrows went straight to Yami's set cards.

"Now you have nothing left to stop me!" Pandora grinned, "Dark Magician, attack him directly!"

The red magician dashed forward to Yami.

'I win!' Pandora thought.

Suddenly, the Dark Magic Curtain appeared on Yami's field, stopping the red magician's attack.

"What?! Dark Magic Curtain is on his field?' Pandora said, confused.

Yami smirked, "That's right. The effect of Dark Magic Curtain extends across the entire field… in other words, I can use it as well! Though it cost me half my life points…"

Yami: 700 to 350

'That can't be,' thought Pandora. "B-But I know your deck! You only have one Dark Magician!"

"That's right. I only have one Dark Magician in my deck," Yami said.

"T-Then what are you doing!?" Pandora asked.

"In the world of duel monsters, the Dark Magician has an apprentice who inherited his vast powers," said Yami.

'I didn't know that!' Pandora thought.

"Take a look!" Yami said as a female magician with blonde hair appeared, "I summon Dark Magician Girl (2000/1700)!"

"Dark Magician – Girl!? But she only has 2000 attack points," Pandora smirked, "My Dark Magician has enough to take her down! Dark Magician, attack Dark Magician Girl!"

"Black Magic!"

"Black Burning!"

Both attacks clashed, causing a pink explosion.

Pandora smirked, "Now I win!"

When the smoke cleared, the one on the field was Dark Magician Girl while the red magician was destroyed.

"No way! My Dark Magician is vaporized! Why? It had 500 more attack points," said Pandora, not believing what he is seeing.

"I'll tell you why. Dark Magician Girl gains 300 attack points for every Dark Magician in the graveyard," explained Yami. "The apprentice carries on her master's legacy, and he watches over her!"

"But there's only one Dark Magician in your graveyard. Even with 300 more points, it'll only have 2300 attack points, so my Dark Magician is still stronger!"

Yami narrowed his eyes, "Take a closer look. If you're a real Master of Magician, you see the truth with your own eyes!"

Pandora squints his eyes before widening them to see his first Dark Magician was behind Dark Magician Girl with Yami's Dark Magician.

Dark Magician Girl (2000 to 2300 to 2600/1700)

"No way! My Dark Magician helped her!?" Pandora said.

Pandora: 750 to 650

"Dark Magician Girl inherits the souls of all Dark Magicians in every graveyard," explained Yami, narrowing his eyes at him. "Even your so-called servant who you ruthlessly killed!"

Dark Magician Girl (2600 to 2900/1700)

Pandora gritted his teeth.

"My turn! Dark Magician Girl, attack Pandora directly! Black Burning!" Yami said.

The female magician attacks Pandora, reducing him the rest of his life points.

Pandora: 650 to 0

"When a duelist treats cards as nothing but objects, they go down the path of ruin and defeat!" Yami said. "You lost because your own Dark Magician turned against you!"

"T-That can't be… cards are just cards," said Pandora. "They don't have minds of their own! They can't turn against their masters!"

"You cut up cards to cheat. You slaughtered your own monsters to win," said Yami. "You've lost the soul of a duelist… if you ever had one!"

Meanwhile, Mokuba, Yugi, Tea and Solomon were standing at the location where Yami was. As they stood in front of the card store, Tristan pulled in with his motorcycle.

Tristan took off his helmet, "Hey, guys. What's up?"

Tea turned around, "Tristan! Yami is missing!"

"What?" Tristan said as he pushed his motorcycle to them.

"There might be a chance that the Rare Hunters have him," said Yugi.

"My brother found his ID signal in the basement of this store," said Mokuba.

Tristan smirked, "Since we know where he is, let's barge in!"

Back to the duel…

"And now, your last act of cruelty is waiting for you!" Yami said.

That's when the circular saw started to get close to the illusionist's legs.

Pandora gasped, 'That's right! The sawblade will go to zero life points and cut off my legs!'

As the circular saw was getting close to Pandora, Yami's small box opened.

"A key and a locator card!" Yami said.

Meanwhile, the gang and Solomon were running down the stairs and saw a metal door with a question mark on it.

Mokuba tried to open it, but it was locked.

"Guys, what's that noise?" Tea asked.

Back in the duel…

Pandora was trying to break free before smirking, 'Never underestimate a conjurer! I have a spare key hidden up my sleeve!'

He took out the key, 'As long as I have this, I can easily escape…'

That's when Pandora felt someone entering his mind.

'M-Master Marik!'

"Didn't you lose the duel, Pandora? Then you must pay the price…"

"Please forgive me master!" Pandora begged.

Suddenly, the key that he was holding disappeared.

"Wha?! Where's the key?!" Pandora was looking around, "Where did it go? It was right here in my hand!"

"I can control your memories… I've erased the key from your mind… you can't see it or feel it… as far as you're concerned it doesn't exist…"

As Pandora was freaking out, Yami used his key to unshackle his legs before hearing someone banging on the metal door.

"Yami!" Yugi shouted.

"Are you there? Answer if you are!" Tea shouted.

Yami turned his head slight to the metal door before dashing to the illusionist and picked up the dropped key, unshackling Pandora's legs. He pulled the illusionist, preventing him getting his legs cut off.

"Even a vile person like you, doesn't deserve their legs to be cut off," said Yami.

That's when the illusionist stood up, but it wasn't Pandora anymore.

"Now why'd you do that?"

Yami gritted his teeth, "Marik! Tell me! Why do you want to kill me?"

"…revenge!"

Yami widened his eyes, 'Revenge?'

"I am the heir of the clan of tombkeepers who have lived in darkness for 3,000 years and I will avenge them."

'Tombkeepers?' Yami thought.

"In the most remote parts of Egypt, near the tombs of the Pharaohs, we tombkeepers have lived apart from the world, hiding in the shadows, passing the task from mother to daughter and father to son. To protect the seven secrets… to protect the lost memories of the Pharaoh… so that one day the Pharaoh will rise again…"

'Memories… seven secrets,' thought Yami before gasping, "Hold on! Do you mean the Millennium items?!"

"Correct. I hold one of them. I must guard it, even if it means my life, until I present it to the Pharaoh's soul… that's what I was taught as a child."

Yami stayed silent.

"The problem is finding the Pharaoh's soul. The only clue is written in the original hieroglyphic text of the Pert Em Hru… the book of the dead… it says, 'you will know him by the three God cards he wields'… in other words, the one who collects the three God cards will be crowned Pharaoh, gathered the Millennium items and regain his lost memoires!"

'Lost memories?' Yami thought.

"For countless generations, my family has protected the Millennium items at the cost of suffering and pain. I will put an end to our curse… but not by welcoming the Pharaoh we have waited for. I will kill him a second time and take revenge! And if the prophecy says that the Pharaoh will wield the three God cards, then I will fulfill the prophecy and become the new Pharaoh!"

Yami frowned, 'The new Pharaoh?'

"I formed the Rare Hunters to find the three God cards. I have two of them already. The last one is in this city – in Battle City!"

Yami gritted his teeth, 'Kaiba.'

"If I acquire the three God cards and kill you, I'll be freed from my curse of destiny and rule everything!"

"Marik! You're not going to achieve of killing me! I will fight to the end!" Yami said.

"Big talk, oh Great Pharaoh. It'll take me a while to get to Domino City. But I don't want you to get bored while waiting… a Rare Hunter with a God card is already in the city… a man with Slifer the Sky Dragon…"

Yami widened his eyes, 'Slifer the Sky Dragon!?'

"You'll see him before you expect it. Remember this: Beware of the Silent Puppet."

'Silent Puppet?' Yami thought.

"Until we meet again… Pharaoh."

With that, Marik stopped controlling the illusionist which made Pandora collapse on the ground. That's when the metal door bust opened by Tristan and everyone dashed over to Yami.

"You're okay, Yami!" Tea said.

The older Muto turned around to them, "Everyone!"

Yugi sighed in relief, knowing that his brother was unharmed.

Far in the ocean, standing on his boat, Marik was staring at the upcoming port in Domino City.

'Wait for me, Pharaoh… I will bury your soul in darkness!'

What do you all think?
Next chapter: Mind Control pt. 1

P.S Yami vs the Puppet; I will try to change the duel aka change Yami's deck as I see that he is more of a spellcaster user since you know, his friends in the past were Mahad (Dark Magician) and Mana (Dark Magician Girl)

I just need to make sure I don't mess up the duel. I am horrible understanding cards effects! I'm horrible in grammar during my school days… so if you all have a spellcaster in mind for Yami's duel against the Puppet, let me know.

Until then guys, Cario! And have a safe and early Happy Halloween! Just in case I don't update the next chapter.
