Chapter 83 Mending a Broken Meart

Rai was at a cafe alone as he looks out a window, it was this day and it makes him frown. The girls came inside and saw him.
"Rai what's wrong?" Sunset asks in concern.
"It's just this day isn't something i'm happy about." He said.
"Why?" Rarity asks.
He sighs. "It's when I got dumped."
"What?!" Applejack questions in surprise as she and the other girls were shocked.
"Yeah, I once had a girlfriend and she left me." He said.
"What why? You're one of nicest guys I know." Rainbow Dash questions.
He frowns. "You wanna hear the story?"
"If you're up to it." Sunset said.
He sighs and he remembers that day.
Flashback
He was at school and he was hanging out with a brown hair girl called Mayumi, they hanged out for some time.
"It's been years hasn't it Mayumi." He said.
"Yeah it has." She said.
He and Mayumi dated for a long time and he was happy to be with her.
"I'll make you happy Mayumi." He smiles.
She smiles back at him though it seems to be a bit off.
Later
Rai was at her house and he frowns since he was talking to her parents and Mayumi.
"So your dumping me?" He said.
"Sorry Rai but my parents are right. I won't have a future with you." Mayumi said.
"If you understand it's for the best for Mayumi." Her father just smiles.
Rai frowns and gets up. "Never talk to me again."
This surprises Mayumi and her parents.
"Why so surprise, you thought we could still be friends after this, you broke my heart so we're nothing." He goes off.
Mayumi watches him go with a bit of a sad look.
He kicks the door opened and leaves the house. "After so many years, she picks a guy because of his career choice."
He then sighs angerly as he inwardly questions was the time they spent together meant nothing to her?
Flashback ends
"And yeah, that's what happened." He said to them.
"Seriously? What is wrong with them?" Rainbow Dash questions with a massive frown.
"That's what I wanted to know, but they made they're choices." He said.
The girls all nod in agreement.
"Hopefully they never show up here." Sonata said.
He rubs his head. "I'll just have to focus on the show."
"By the way what are you planning for it?" Twilight asks.
"The guys have few ideas to discuss with." He said.
"That's good to hear. Do you need any help?" Futtershy asks.
"You wanna help?" He said.
"Yes please." The girls said.
"Well okay let's go to the theater." He said.
They all start heading to the theater after Rai pays his bill. The group arrived as the muppets started to work on tonights show.
"Oh hey girls." Kermit who was holding a clipboard said upon seeing them.
"The girls came to see if they can help out in the show." Rai said.
"Oh that would be great. I think we can use some help on some outfits for some of the scenes." Kermit said.
"Oh I can help." Rarity said.
"We have the Zucchini Brothers for a act." Kermit said.
"What do they need help with?" Sunset asks.
"We need strong poles for the act." He said.
"I got that." Applejack said.
"We need an act for Gonzo." Kermit checks.
"I'll do it!" Pinkie Pie said with a cheer.
"What do you have for ideas?" Rai asked.
"Oh I have loads of ideas!" Pinkie Pie said.
"Okay, well girls let's work together." Rai said.
"Right!" The girls said.
They started to work together and Rai has a bad feeling.
Sunset notices the look on his face.
"Rai what is it?" She questions worried.
"Just something might happen. You know that feeling something bad will happen." He said.
Sunset grimaces as this means something could happen at the show.
Meanwhile at the city a bus comes as a woman with a unkept look came out and she goes down the road.
"Finally I'm here." She said.
The woman then saw a commercial with Kermit the frog. "Hey kids, today is going to be a special show, so come on quick for the big fun."
"A puppet?" She questions.
Many of the puppets were chearing and they saw Rai come out in the stage as he waves at everyone watching TV.
"R-Rai?" She questions in surprise.
"Come on and have some fun." He smiles before the commercial ended.
The woman starts tearing up.
She goes to the place but she bumps into someone on the line and the guy said: "Hey lady, I don't care how much you want your ticket, you gotta wait in line like the others."
"S-sorry." She said.
He goes back in line. "Finally another Muppet show. I wonder what Rai has planned."
She moves to the back as she waits for her turn. The line kept moving as the girl was getting nervous.
She goes to the booth and she saw a muppet being Pepe. "Five dolars."
She hands it over to the Muppet who takes it.
"Here is your ticket." Pepe said before handing the ticket to her.
The woman goes off on her own.
With Rai
He was checking the show as the group prepared the stuff. Kermit was with him as well.
"Okay guys, we'll be doing the intro soon so everyone get ready." Rai said.
"Right!" Everyone said.
Many people were sitting down on they're seats as they got excited.
Kermit looks at Rai. "Wait who should I introduce as the special guest?"
"Uh, Sunset." Rai said. "The girls decided on her today."
"Great. Now what does she have planned?" Kermit asks.
"You'll see, but have the opening." Rai said.
Kermit goes out on stage. "It's the muppet show with our special guest Sunset."
The music started as he goes away and the muppets started they're song.
It's time to play the music

It's time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight
It's time to put on make up

It's time to raise the curtain on the Muppet Show tonight
The old men were watching.

Gonzo blows a horn that sounded like a tuba surprising him.
"That was new." Gonzo said looking at his horn carefully.
After the curtains go back down Kermit came out.
"Alright we have a wonderful show tonight with out special guest. But first we have the fire dance Luau." He said.
The crowd oohs in excitement.
The curtains opened revealing tikki muppets as they spinned torches. The crowd watches this in awe and excitement.
Gonzo came using two hands and dances around.
"Look at me go!" He said.
The others threw theirs at him and he had to juggle a lot.
"Things are getting toasty in here." Gonzo said.
They all got amazed before he stops putting them in a stack as he holds one in his mouth.
"Ta-da!" He said through the stick in his mouth.
They all clapped for him.
"Shame he didn't burn." Waldorf said.
"Yes since this show isn't on fire as the kids say." Statler said.
They laughed it off.
Rai sees Gonzo come back. "Good job."
"Thanks." Gonzo said though he still has the stick in his mouth.
"Okay we have Sunset next." Scooter said.
Sunset was a bit nervous but was resolved to give a good show.
"Okay i'll be introducing her. Are the back up girls ready?" Kermit asked.
"Yes they are Kermit." Fozzie said.
Kermit goes out. "For our next number we have the amazing Sunset!"
He goes off as the curtains opened revealing Sunset and other muppet girls in similar outfits.

She snaps her finger as they did a musical number.

The woman sees her go back stage and noticed Rai talking to her from a small gap.
"Rai." She mutters.
"Great job Sunset." He said.
"Thanks Rai." She said smiling before kissing his cheek.
He smiles. "Your welcome."
This widens the mysterious girl's eyes. She then sneaks away on the break.
"I need to talk to you Rai." She mutters.
Rai was with the girls as they checked the next event.
"Okay, we got doctor sketch next." Rai said.
"Who's the doctor?" Rarity asks.
"Me." Rowlf came dressed up. "Dr Bob."
"Nice." Rainbow Dash said.
"Okay then-"
"Hello Rai."
He got confused and saw the woman shocking him. "Mayumi!"
This surprises the girls too that Rai's ex was here.
"What are you doing here?!" He said.
"I-I need help." Mayumi said.
"What?" He said.
"Hey you can't be here." Muppet security came and dragged her out.
"Wait please!" Mayumi struggles against them.
"Why did she have to come back?" He facepalms.
"Did you see how she looked?" Rarity questions.
"She looked unkept." Twilight said.
"Yes. She also was desperate." Sunset said.
"Well that's not my problem." Rai said.
"M-maybe we should find out?" Futtershy suggests.
"After what her family did to me. I don't give help to people that betray me." He said.
"We should just ignore her." Rainbow Dash said.
"Okay, get Piggy and start the next segment." Rai goes to his dressing room.
"Right." Rowlf said heading to get her.
The next scene started as Rowlf played dr Bob with Piggy as the Nurse. They have a patient on the bed.
"Doctor the patient seems very ill." She said.
"Well what seems to be the problem?" Dr. Bob questions.
"I don't know, the patient is shaking and squeeling with high fever." She said.
"Oh I know, its called Swine flu." He said.
She got stunned before getting mad. "Swine flu?!"
"I didn't named it!" Dr. Bob defends himself.
She does a karate chop knocking him down. "Hmph!" She walks away.
"Talk about a pig with a attitude." He said.
He falls back down as the crowd cheered.
Rai was inside his dressing room as he has a drink.
He then sighs in annoyance. "Why did she have to appear?"
He then wonders how was she here? This wasn't their world. It could be a merge to make things similar to his.
"I just need to relax." He then takes another sip before sitting back.
Then Rai saw a food cart come inside, he raises a eyebrow at this.
"Here's the lunch your ordered." The server muppet said.
Rai then remembers he did order some food.
"Oh thanks." He said.
The guy goes out and he takes out the lid revealing a meal.
Rai smells the aroma coming from it and hums with a pleased tone.
He saw the cloth underneath move, he then frowns as he lifts it up slowly to see what's inside.
He saw Mayumi. "You again!"
"Rai please I need to talk to you!" She begs.
"What?!" He was annoyed.
"I-I need your help. I never should have broken up with you." She starts to say.
"I don't hear a reason." He said.
"The guy I was dating after breaking up with you was a really terrible person. I was tricked." Mayumi said.
"He made a lot of debt and now i'm stuck."
"Well too bad for you." Rai walks away.
"Rai please help me! I'll do anything!" She begs.
She goes after him outside and he said: "What did you expect me to do after you dumped me like that."
"Rai please!" She keeps begging.
They went around and she holds on to his arm.
"Let me go!"
"Rai please help me!" She begs.
They struggle but they tripped forward entering the dancing sketch making the two stunned.
"Uh-oh." Kermit said seeing this.
The muppets kept dancing and Rai looks around, he dances with Mayumi to join in. Mayumi would have protested but decided not to since this might help get Rai to talk to her.
"Don't get any ideas. Because of you I have to improvise to save the show." He said.
This makes her sadly frown.
"Why did you think you do this? Your the one that hated me?" He questions her.
"I never hated you." Mayumi said.
He got confused.
"My parents were the ones who kept pushing me to break up with you." Mayumi said.
"Why did you accept it?" He frowns.
"Because if I don't I was scared they might have kicked me out and disowned me." Mayumi said.
He raises an eyebrow. "And how am I supposed to trust you? You could have told me before that happened alone."
"I tried to." Mayumi said.
"What do you mean you tried to? We were in school alone." He said.
"How was I supposed to say my parents want me to break up with you?" Mayumi said.
"You could have told me when we were still dating and I could have understand that. Do you know how much it hurt me hearing that at your house?" He said.
"I'm sorry Rai." Mayumi said sadly.
They dance ended and the two left. Rai goes away with Mayumi following him.
Waldorf and Statler saw the entire dance.
"Since when did the creator joined in?" Waldorf said.
"I don't know, but it makes it different." Statler said.
"Rai I am very sorry for what I did to you but please I need your help! I'll do anything!" Mayumi begs.
"You came back for just money!" He looks at her.
"Rai please! my parents won't do anything about the situation! Do you want me to be your slave in exchange for the money?" Mayumi said.
"Hey! You should know I don't do that." He felt insulted.
"Then what will it take to get help from you?!" She cries out as tears were running down her face.
The girls came and they saw the scene as Rai rubs his face.
"She's still here?" RD questions in anger.
"She's crying." Fluttershy said.
"Maybe we should settle this tomorrow?" Rarity suggests since they have a show to do.
"She's not going to leave me until this is settled." Rai said.
"What if we make her work for the money?" Sunset suggests.
"Work?" He said.
"Have her clean up, make props and other things." Sunset said.
He frowns and looks at Mayumi. "What do you think?"
"I'll do anything." She said.
He sighs. "Fetch me some water."
She nods as she quickly went to get water.
He goes to sit down on a chair and rubs his head. Sunset goes over to him and sits by him.
"Why does this have to happen?" He said.
"I don't know but we can deal with it." Sunset said hugging him.
He smiles at her, Mayumi came with a glass of water and he takes it
He then checks it before drinking it. "Thanks."
"You're welcome." She said.
"Hey help me moves these boxes." A muppet told Mayumi said.
"Yes." She said as she went to help.
"Let's keep the show going." Rai said.
"What's next?" Twilight asks.
"It's the brothers one." Scooter said.
"Who's doing that?" Applejack asks.
"Just the Flying Zucchini Brothers and... Gonzo?" Scooter looks at the list.
"Gonzo is going on?" Pinkie Pie asks excited.
The brothers were at they're show with many pipes around, Gonzo was inside the cannon as they prepare it.
"What's with all the pipes?" A person in the audience questions.
They light up the cannon and shoot Gozo inside a pipe as he goes through each of the tubes.
"Talk about a tight situation." Gonzo jokes.
They had a big ball filled with water waiting as he comes out going inside of it.
Gonzo swims around in it.
Many cheered for it as the group bow before ending the act.
They went back and Kermit said: "That was something."
"That was something alright." Waldorf said.
"A load of wash it was." Statler said.
They laughed.
"And now our final show is with our special guest Sunset!" Kermit said.
The audience cheers.
Sunset was in a bike as she drives forward, the many muppet monsters came out after her. This frightens the audience a bit.
She looks back and dodges while doing many tricks avoiding them all. This makes the audience ooh and awe in wonder.
Then she does a big jump from a ramp that came and the monsters see her fly before she landed on a balcony.
The audience claps in awe.
She bows and saluted to many of them.
Kermit came out. "Well it's the end of the show and I hope you all enjoyed."
"Enjoy is he kidding?" Statler questions.
Sunset appears behind them. "You got a problem boys?" She smirks.
The two jumps in surprise as she glares at them. They stopped and look down.
The crowd cheers as the show was over, Mayumi follows Rai outside of the building.
"What do you want me to do next?" She asks.
"I want to talk to you." He said.
"Ok." She said.
They went to his house as he stares at her.
"Okay, if this guy put the debt in your name, we have grounds to sue." He said.
"Really?" She asks hopefully.
"Yes, but why did you come to me on the first place and be honest." He said.
She looks down.
"I-I still love you." She admits.
He got surprised. "After all this time."
"Yes. I wanted to marry you and start a family with you." She said.
He stares at her.
"Daddy!" Flandre came smiling.
"Daddy?" Mayumi questions in surprise and shock.
The little girl hugs him and Rai said: "Yes I adopted her."
"I-I see." Mayumi said still stunned.
"Mayumi, if you want to be happy, you gotta cut ties with your parents." He said.
"I-I know and agree. But where would I go?" Mayumi questions.
"Well... You can stay here." He suggested.
"Really?" She asks surprised but hopeful.
"Well yeah, I don't see a lie in you. So since my friends asked me to do it, might as well try it." He said.
"Thank you Rai." She said before crying.
She hugs him and he smiles a bit.
Flandre looks at her and wonders who she is. "Is she a new mama?"
Mayumi blushes at that.
"Well... Possibly." Rai said.
She blushes deeper at that.
"Let's just relax." He said.
"Y-yes." Mayumi said.
He goes to the bathroom and Mayumi gets a call from her parents.
She looks at it and debates to either answer it or decline it.
Flandre looks at it. "Your mommy and daddy?"
She hesitates for a moment before saying "Yes."
"They're mean?" Flandre frowns.
Mayumi sighs before nodding.
"They made me leave your daddy." She said.
"Oh." She said. "Then they're not good people."
Mayumi nods.
"Then you don't need them, you us." Flandre hugs her.
Mayumi slightly smiles as she hugs her back, Rai came back and smiles at them.
"I'm going to answer it on speaker so I can tell them I'm cutting ties with them." Mayumi said.
"We're here for you." Rai said.
"Thank you." She said.
She answers the call and she heard her mother. "Mayumi?"
"Mother. What is it?" Mayumi questions.
"We just wanted to know how is the situation?"
She bits her lip before she hardens her resolve.
"I'm not going back home." She said.
"What?!" Her mother exclaims in surprise and shock.
"You and dad, you made me choose some other guy because of the school he was trying to get in over Rai and I got a ton of debt instead." She cries.
"Mayumi Rai wouldn't have given you the best life! We were only thinking of your future!" Her mother defends her and her husband.
"Your both stupid! Rai managed to make something even more finishing school! I always believed in him and you tore us appart. So i'm going to live my life with him." Mayumi declared.
"Mayumi what are you talking about?! Don't throw your future away!" Her mother said in protest.
"Good bye!" She smashes the phone into pieces.
She then looks at Rai hopefully.
Rai hugs Mayumi. "You did good."
She smiles happy that she can be with Rai again.
They managed to get a laywer as they put the debt back at that guy. Now she's free as Mayumi was back with her true love.
Note: heres the ex chapter but I wanted to do something different, Mayumi is based on Sekai No Fushigi but I altered a bit, like there is some potential if she was just following her parents wishes without much of a choice, so she's with Rai as he basically saved her life.
