Chapter 162: Equestria Girls Part 2: Reuniting Old Friends
In the cafeteria, Spyro and Twilight were in a line getting some food, which most of it looked a lot better than what Spyro had when he was in school, which most of the food was hamburgers, pizza, stew, a whole bunch of stuff that smelled excellent and looked great, so Spyro got a tray and got busy putting together what he could reach, going down the line as twilight looked at everything, unsure of some of the food, but grabbed a burger and smelled it, still unsure of it as she looked to Spyro as he got himself a burger and some corn and what else he would like.
"Um, Spyro... I'm not so sure about this stuff." Twilight said, looking at the burger. "What is this?"
"Oh, that's a hamburger." Spyro replied. "It's made from ground beef."
"What's ground beef?" Twilight asked.
"Ground up cow." Spyro replied.
As he said that, twilight immediately felt sick, her cheeks blowing up as she imagined how it was made, putting the burger back to find something else.
"Here, this will be better for you." Fluttershy said, presenting a vegie burger to her. "No meat in this."
"Oh, thanks." Twilight said.
"It's strange." Fluttershy said. "Your girlfriend doesn;'t eat meat, but you do."
"Eh, kind of a odd ball relationship." Spyro replied. "Spent a long time eating fruits and vegetables. Today's my cheat day."
"Oh, ok then." Fluttershy said, unsure of Spyro's answer.
"Say Fluttershy, could we ask you something?" Twilight asked.
"Anything Twilight." Fluttrshy replied.
"You see, I'm planning on running for Princess of the Fall Formal." Twilight replied.
However, before she could say anythng else, Fluttershy gasped, dropping a bowl full of fruit and it spilled all over Twilight and Spyir, gasping as she rushed to get it cleaned up.
"Oh, so sorry!" Fluttershy said, grabbing a bunch of napkins and cleaning them up. "I didn't mean to do that!"
"Hey, it's alright Fluttershy, it was an accident." Spyro replied. "But, why did you get spooked when Twilight mentioned the Fall formal?"
"Because it's a bad idea." Fluttershy replied, taking another bowl and walking away with her food, both Twilight and Spyro following her. "She runs for it every year and wins every time. When she wants something, she gets it. There was one girl who ran for Princess of the Spring Fling and she lost because of Shimmer pulling a dirty trick on her."
"So she plays dirty to win huh?" Spyro asked. "Sounds like we're in for a challenge , right Twilight?"
"You really believe she can win?" Fluttershy asked.
"I know she will." Spyro replid, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her in, making her laugh while Fluttershy seemed jealous.
"Well, it's going to be harder than you think." Fluttershy replied, sitting down at a table with the other two sitting in front of her. "To win, you'd need to convince everyone here to vote for her. They are seperated into several groups. the Atheletes, the Fashionista's, the Drama's, Echo kids, techies, and even the rockstars."
"Why the heck is everypo-" Twilight began to say, Spyro elbowing her to stop her and correct herself before Fluttershy noticed. "I mean, everybody, seperated?"
"I don't know what it was like in your guy's school, but at CHS, everyone sticks to people like them." Fluttershy said. "But what they all know is that Sunset Shimmer is going to rule this school until graduation."
"Sounds like they're all afraid of her." Spyro said, looking at them and seeing the different groups.
"Not if we can help it!" Twilight said, grabbing an apple with her mouth and eating it.
Flutterhsy looked at her akwardly, Spyro face smacking himself as he cleared his throat, twilight realizing she messed up again and dropped the apple, laughing nervously as she did.
"We really need to work on your social skills and your manners Twi." Spyro said.
"Heh, sorry." Twilight said, picking it up with her hand. "So, where would I find the person in charge of the formal?"
"You mean that lunatic of a party animal?" Fluttershy asked with disdain, both Spyro and Twilight picking up on how she said it. "You'll find her in the gymnasium getting everything ready. But I wouldn't trust her if I were you. She's way too wild to even follow a simple request."
She continued to eat her food, Spyro and twilight looking at one another in confusion, wondering why this worlds Fluttershy would be at odds with the person planning the party. After they finished eating, they went straight to the gymnasium to see if they could find this worlds Pinkie Pie, walking through the doors and found that the entire gym was set up for a party to remember, streamers, balloons floating on the ceiling, loudspeakers, the works. As they looked around, they saw someone in the middle of the room, wearing a blue and white shirt with a heart in the middle of it, wearing a purple skirt with three balloons on it, throwing confetti and streamers everywhere to decorate the place while pulling out a balloon and blowing it up. While Twilight knelt down to get Spike out of her bag and on the ground, letting Spyro approach the person decorating to get her attention.
"Excuse me ma'am, I was wondering if-" Spyro said, the person turning around to reveal her hair was poofy and while like a pink pony he knew, connecting the dots and recognizing her. "Pinkie Pie?"
The girl opened her mouth and the balloon deflated, catching him off guard as she appeared behind him, grabbing him and turning him around to look him dead int he eye.
"Are you Psychic!?" Pinkie asked, clearly surprised Spyro knew her name.
"Uh, not exactly." Spyro replied, not mentioning his mind reading abilities. "Are you psychic?"
"Pfft, I wish." Pinkie replied, dropping him. "If I could read everyone's minds, I'd be able to know when to throw a Surprise party for them! Tell me, how did you know my name!? Was it my hair!? My clothes!? My shoes!? Oh, maybe I can guess your name with your shoes!"
"Heh, I doubt that." Spyro said, getting up. "Fluttershy told us the head of the party planning committee would be here. I take it that's you?"
"Fluttershy huh?" Pinkie asked, stretching an inflated balloon, which Spyro covered his ears, but she just tied it up. "Don;t let the whole 'shy' thing fool you. She's a really, really, big meanie."
"Wait, you two aren't friends?" Twilight asked.
"Anyhoo, you wanna put your name on the ballet for the Fall Fromal Princess huh?" Pinkie asked, ignoring Twilight's question. "I can tell you and your boyfriend are new here, so I knew I didn't recognize you. Although... do you have a twin sister who looked exactly like you, except she wears glasses and has a pet dog named Spike like you do and lives in the big city?"
Both Spyro and Twilight looked at one another, confused about why she'd ask that.
"Uh, maybe?" Twilight asked, giving a nervous smile.
"I thought so." Pinkie replied, reaching nto her hair and pulling out a clipboard. "Anyway, just sign here and you're all set to go for Fall Formal Princess." She then presented a pen to Twilight, who didn't know what to do, so she looked to Spyro, who motioned for her to take it in her hand, so she did and tried to write her name on it, but when Pinkie looked at it, her eyes shot wide open in surprise. "Wow, and I thought my handwritting was terrible! It's liek you never held a pen before in your life."
"Yeah, she was home-schooled most of her life." Spyro replied. "Worked mostly with computers."
"Oooh, that makes sense!" Pinkie replied.
"Did somebody order a dozen cases of Fizzy Apple Cider?" A voice asked.
They lookled to see who it was, but Spyro recognized the voice and the accent, seeing Applejack walk in wearing a white and green shirt with a blue jean skirt and wearing her hat, wiping the sweat off as she placed the case down.
"I did!" Pinkie replied, all excited.
"Hey Big Mac, can ya bring in the rest?" Applejack asked.
"Eyup!" Big Mac replied.
A moment later, a tall guy wearing a red shirt and had orange hair walked in, Applejack taking a case and walking over when she spotted Spyro and Twilight.
"Hey, Ah know you two." Applejack said.
"You do?" Spyro asked.
"Yeah, yer the two who stood up to Sunset Shimmer and gave her the what for!" Applejack said, placing the case down. "Gotta hand it to ya, you both don't seem afraid of her."
"Why should we be?" Spyro asked. "She just a bully. You stand up to a bully, she looses her power."
"Ain't that the truth." Applejack said, taking a bottle and opening it with her teeth. "You both got my respect for doin' that. Most folks around here just do what they're told or just hide from her."
"Not our style." Spyro replied.
"Twilight Sparkel is going to run for Princess of the Fall Formal." Pinkie said, making Applejack spit her drink out.
"Are ya out of yer mind!?" Applejack asked. "She's the meanest person in the school. With every one who goes up against her, she'll appear nice, but-" She then took a balloon, drew Spyro's and Twilight's faces on it before popping it, making Spyro's ears ring as he covered them, bending over in pain. "She'll stab ya in the back." She then noticed Spyro bending over, covering his ears and got worried. "Oh my gosh, ya'll alright Sugarcube?"
"Yeah, I'm fine Applejack." Spyro replied, cleaning his ears. "Got some sensative ears, that's all."
"Oh, sorry." Applejack said.
"Ah, don;t worry about it." Spyro replied. "Not the worst thing to happen to me."
"Anyway, the one person you need to look out for is Rainbow Dash." Applejack said, surprising them.
"Rainbow Dasj?" Twilight asked as Pinkie was bouncing around in the gym.
"She's the captain of EVERY sports team in Canterlot High!" Pinkie said, bouncing around.
"She's also the captain of promisin' to do somethin', but then turn around and not even bother showin' up to help out!" Applejack added, looking annoyed.
"Thanks for the advice Applejack." Spyro said. :but we really need to do this."
"Suit yerselves." She replied, Spyro and Twilight walking away when she realized something. "Hey wait a minute, how the heck did ya know mah name? Ah don't remember tellin' ya that."
"Uh, lucky guess?" Spyro suggested, realizing he goofed. "Anyway, come on Twi, we got a lot to do for the dance this Friday."
The two of them rushed out of the room, making Applejack suspicious of them as they left.
"Big Mac, do ya remember me givin' that guy mah name?" Applejack asked.
"Nope." Big Mac replied.
"Then how the heck did he know it?" Applejack asked.
"They're totally hiding something, but I'm am onto them!" Pinkie said, sliding up next to Applejack. "Spyro's psychic!"
"Ah don't know about that." Applejack replied. "He don't seem psychic, but he's definitely hidin' somethin'."
A moment later, the doors slammed open and standing there was Sunset Shimmer and behind her was a short, chubby kid with pale blue skin, orange hair, and wearing a black shirt with a pair of scissors while the other one was lean with green hair, wearing a green long-sleeved shirt and a pair of white jeans.
"This looks terrible!" Sunset Shimmer said, approaching the place. "There should be more streamers near the stage and fewer balloons!"
She then popped the balloons, walking away while the other two walked with her.
"Yeah, more streamrs!" The chubby kid said, ripping some streamers.
"And fewer balloons!" The lean one said, trying to opo the balloon, but failing at it.
"And what's this!?" Sunset Shimmer asked. "Fizzy Apple Cider!? Ugh, this is my coronation, not a hoe down!"
"Well it aint gonna be yer coronation this time around, now is it?" Applejack asked.
"Oh, is that so?" Sunset Shimmer asked, walking up to her. "You know, you country folk really aren't that brihgt, you know? Must be why the other students say such awful things about you."
Although they didn't notice him, Spyro was getting ready to bust through the door and strangle Sunset Shimmer for her snide remark, but Twilight grabbed him, stopping him from doing anything that he would regret later as she pulled him away as the world paused.
"Author, please, please let me hit her with a boulder for what she just said!" Spyro asked. "She cannot get away with that!"
Sorry bud, but you know the rules. Can't do anything off script just because she said something like that. You just need to let go and let it 'flow.'
Spyro thought about it for a moment, an idea coming to him as he smiled.
"Right." Spyro said, the world resuming. "Let it flow."
"And obviously, it'll be my coronation." Sunset Shimmer said. "No one is brave enough to oppose me."
"Not this time!" Pinkie replied. "The new girl just signed up!"
"WHAT!?" She asked. "Give me that!"
Sunset looked at who she was facing against, seeing the name as her blood boiled with rage.
"Well, I'm looking forward to meeting my competition then." Sunset Shimmer said, though acting nice, she was ready to destroy her. However, a moment later, a massive torrent of water came down and hit her, making her scream as she was totally drenched, making Applejack and Pinkie laugh as she looked furious. "Ok, who is dumb enough to do that!? Who did it!?"
Meanwhile in the hallway, SPyro was laughing to himself, watching what had happened on his bracer as he shut it, stiffling his laughter as best he could after getting Sunset Shimmer.
"You really hold a grudge, don't you?" Twilight asked.
"Not usually." Spyro replied. "I just thought she needed to cool off for a while."
"Although, you nearly blew our cover both times when you blurted out their names." Twilight said.
"I know, rokie mistake." Spyro replied. "Though, this doesn't make any sense. Fluttershy and Pinkie are at one another's throats, Fluttershy calling Pinkie and out of control lunatic while Pinkie called her a meanie. Both of those don't seem true while Applejack says Rainbow Dash can't be depended on. That just doesn't make any sense."
"What could have thrown them against one another?" Twilight asked.
"I don't know." Spyro replied. "But I bet you Sunset Shimmer had something to do with it."
"So you're not as dumb as you look." Sunset Shimmer said, making them turn around to face her. "I should have know the princess would send her prized pupil to take my crown and send her little toy soldier and the little dog as well."
"That crown isn't yours." Spyro said. "The crown belongs to Twilight."
"Whatever lizard boy." Sunset Shimmer replied. "This is just a slight set back, but neither of you know the first thing about this world, but I do. I'm basically incharge here."
"If that's so, why even take my crown in the first place?" Twilight asked. "You went through a lot of trouble just to get it."
"Well, let me ask you this, what happens when an Element of Harmony is brought to another world?" Sunset SHimmer asked, stumping Twilight. "Seriously!? You don't know!? And you're supposed to be Princess Celestia's star pupil? Then again, the chances were pretty low she'd take someone as bright as me under her wing after I left Equestria. It's embarrassing that you are the best she could do."
"Hey, back off!" Spyro said, getting in front of her. "She's a better student that you ever were!"
"Hey, I'm just stating facts here." She replied, walking away. "If you think you can win, you got another thing coming. You don't fit in here, so you don't belong. Still, good luck, 'princess.' You'll need it."
Sunset Shimmer walked away from the both of them, Spyro still enraged by what she had just said and how she insulted Twilight like that, wanting to dump more than water on her when Twilight grabbed his hand.
"Let it go Spyro." Twilight said. "She's got a point, I don't fit in. Which means I'm going to need to do more research on how to fit in as a human. Is there a library we can go to?"
"Every school has a library." Spyro replied. "We can go there, but we're going to need to do some emergency training for you."
"Emergency training?" Twilight asked.
"You're use to fighting as a pony, capable of using magic." Spyro replied, the both of them walking away. "I'm going to need to teach you how to fight as a human, without your horn."
"Sounds difficult." Twilight said.
"Believe me, fighting in another form is always difficult." Spyro replied. "Right now, let's head to the library and get you familiar about us humans. We'll worry about your training later."
They walked away and headed in the direction of the Library, having passed it earlier. Meanwhile, Sunset Shimmer was walking the halls and found her henchmen, Snips and Snails, all wrapped up in streamers, so she untangled them, spinning them around until they were good and dizzy.
"Listen carefully." Sunset Shimmer said. "I want you to follow the new girl and her boyfriend. Get me everything you can to embarrass them so that they'll drop out of the contest like the last girl."
"You got it Sunset Shimmer!" Snips said.
"Once the crown and it's power are mine, Twilight sparkle will be sorry she stepped hoof in this world." Sunset Shimmer said, turning to see the two confused looking boys standing there. "What are you morons still doing here!? Get going!"
"Yes ma'am!" Snails said
The two boys then started to run away, leaving Sunset Shimmer alone as she groaned, knowing she needed better henchmen and walked away, but as she did, a shadow was moving and from it, Vanitas came out of the shadows, looking at the girl as she rounded the corner.
"So that's where the negative energy is coming from." Vanitas said. "And the princesses little pet is here as well, huh? Guess this trip won't be a waste of time after all."
Vanitas then laughed as he walked away, blending in with the shadows to not be seen by anyone. With Spyro and Twilight, tney had arrived at the library and Twilight was star struck, seeing so many books in the library and instantly falling in love, Spyro opening the door for her as she looked around, but unfortunately, they failed to notice Snips and Snails sleazing around, getting their phones out and sneaking around to collect whatever kind of embarrassing photo's they could fo Twilight to make her drop out of the running for Princess of the Fall Formal.
"I can;t believe a library like this has so many books." Twilight said. "I think I'm in heaven."
"Yeah, well, we don't exactly have time to have yoou read all of them, remember?" Spyro asked. "We're on a bit of a time limit here and don't have time for you to read them all."
"Wow, what's that?" She asked, running to a computer and lookingit over. "It's similar to what you have in your garage."
"You mean this thing?" Spyro asked. "It's called a computer. We humans are technologically advanced, though not as advanced as myself or Tony, but still, we're advanced. People use these to look up information if they don't have an answer."
"So, what kind of magic does it run on?" Twilight asked.
"It runs on eletricity." Spyro replied. "Unlike my garage that runs off magically intuned crystals, most devices here run off of eletricity to keep them powered up." he then took the mouse and moved it to the internet browser, clicking on it and making it pop up. "And this is the internet. This is where you go to if you're looking for something. Information, someone's phone number, and whatever else you'd like to look up."
"So, instead of looking through books, poeple look at this to find what they need?" Twilight asked.
"Exactly." Spyro replied. "Go on, give it a go." Twilight looked at it, unsure of what to do, so she started to smack the keyboard, making him crunge as he grabbed her hand, stopping her. "Maybe let me handle the typing." She then started to type on the keyboard, looking up what they needed and finding what they were looking for. "Ah, there we go. Sunset Shimmer, local bully, yet a straight 'A' student at the same time."
"I can't believe the princess had such a horrible pony for a student." Twilight said. "What made her go down this path?"
"Power." Spyro answered. "Once someone get's a taste for power, it corrupts them, bringing them down a dark and dangerous path. I think the princess recognized what was happening with you and sent your to Ponyville to make friends and avoid such a fate." He then typed in what else they needed to look at, findng Sunset Shimmer in about every article for every pagents and formal. "According to these articles, she seems to win everytime using fear, intimidation, and threats. Even embarrassing them into dropping out."
"She's horrible." Twilight said. "We need to beat her and get my crown back before she can use it."
"That won't be easy." Spyro said. "Everyone's afraid of her, so they're more likely to vote for her to avoid being bullied. We're going to need to reassure them that voiting for us is a better option."
"And how do we do that?" Twilight asked.
"We're going to need some help." Spyro replied. "And I think I know just the girls to do it."
A moment later, they heard loud music playing, making Spyro cover his ears and dropped, rocking back and forth as the crusaders were playing loud music, but was then stopped when this world's version of Ms. Cheerilee came in and shut the speakers off, ending the music.
"Girls, how many times have I told you not to play your music in the library!?" Cheerilee asked, looking furious. "The computers are for research only, not playing your videos."
"Just as well, look at these comments." Apple Bloom said, scrolling through. "Epic fail. these girls are horrible singers. Wait, funniest thing ever?"
"Funniest thing ever!" Sweeite Belle said. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
"Oh yeah." Scootaloo said.
"Girls, wait, I don't you should-" Spyro said, watching them leave and ignore him, face smacking himself. "Why do I bother?" He the turned and saw Twilight trying to type, using her knuckles and failing to use the Keyboard miserably. "Twilight, with your fingers, not your knuckles."
"Sorry, just not use to using these things yet." Twilight said. "And I'm not getting anywhere with this internet thing."
"Maybe let me handle the computer, you go hit the books." Spyro said. "See what you can learn."
"Now that I can do." Twilight replied.
She got up and walked over to get some books, learn what she could about the human world while Spyro got to work looking on the computer, finding what he could about their opposition. While he was looking on the computer, Twilight was having trouble with walking around with a load of books, falling down and stumbling a bit while also making some noise, being shushed multiple times while Snips and Snails were recording, snickering as they did and then nearly bursting out laughing when Twilight accidently activated a printer, blinding her and making her fall into some books, geting everything they could. Meanwhile, Spyro was looking at everything he could on the computer, having a look at previous contestants and finding all the things that Sunset Shimmer did, disliking her more and more when he found the school yearbook, opening it and finding that the five girls who represented their friends were actually friends some time ago, thick as theives before they started hating one another, having a hunch about who the cause of their seperation was.
"Find anything?" Twilight asked.
"Yeah, a whole bunch of stuff." Spyro replied, printing out a picture of the human versions of their friends. "But most of all, I found a yearbook. In previous years, this worlds version of our friends were best friends, near inseparable, but then they started to dislike one another. Five will get you twenty who the cause of it is."
"Sunset Shimmer." Twilight said.
"Yeah, the queen of mean." Spyro replied. "I think I have an idea of how we can win this. But we're gonna need their-" they then heard screaming, looking out and seeing the crusaders running from something. Before they could see what it was they were running from, several Scrappers were running down the hall, chasing them as the both of them looked in horror. "Scrappers!"
"What the heck are the Unversed doing here!?" Twilight asked.
"Wait here." Spyro said.
He then ran after the crusaders and the Unversed, running hrough the halls and around the corner when an alarm was blarring, everyone looking up and hearing it.
"Attention all students!" Celestia said. "We have unknown assailants in the school attacking students! Find a place to hide while the authorities come to handle the situation!"
"They won't get here in time." Spyro said to himself.
He rounded the next corner and saw the crusaders surrounded by a bunch of Scrappers, one of them lifting it's hand to attack and make the girls close their eyes, but Spyro got there in time, punching the one who was about to attack and making it fly into the lockers, turning to a dark cloud on impact. The girls opened their eyes and looked to see what had happened, finding Spyro standing in front of them and inbetween them and the Unversed, looking annoyed with them.
"Hey, it's you!" Scootaloo said. "The guy who knew my name!"
"You kids alright?" Spyro asked, seeing them nod their heads before returning his attention to the Scrappers. "You seriously attacking kids now? You lot are just pathetic."
Angered bby the remark, they charged at Spyro, though he wanted to call his Keyblade, he couldn't risk the human version of his sister and her friends see him use magic, so he just sidestepped and kneed the Scrapper attacking him, dropping it to the ground as he stomped on it, destroying it in one blow while two of them attack simultaneously, swinging to get a hit in, but Spyro just dodged their attacks, ducking, bending over, even jumping over them and hitting their heads together, destroying both at the same time as more arrived to take their place. The fight continued on and as it did, the two principals rounded the corner to make sure their students were alright when they saw Spyro fighting off the Unversed, watching him dodging and kicking one into a wall and exploding on impact, surprised to see how well he fought. However, a moment later, one of the Scrappers got a hit in, slashing upward and hitting him in the front, making him fall backwards as the girls screamed, seeing their savior fall to the ground and make both Principals gasop, thinking he was dead.
But he just opened his eyes, jumping back onto his feat before spinning around and kicking the Scrapper into the staircase, curve stomping it and making it explode into black dust before turning to the remaining two as they just stood back, backing away as to put some distance between them.
"If I were you, I'd leave before things got worse." Spyro said, giving them a firm look, yet telling them to get lost before he destroyed them too. Not wanting to meet the same fate, they disappeared into the shadows, moving through the darkness and getting away before they got destroyed. "That's what I thought."
"That... was... AWESOME!" Scootaloo shouted, the crusaders running up to him. "You were amazing! Where did you learn to fight like that!?"
"I learned from my master." Spyro replied. "He and a few others taught me how to fight."
"Well, whoever taught you, you were awesome!" Scootaloo said. "Apple Bloom, did you record everything!?"
"Sure did!" Apple Bloom said, pulling out her phone.
"Wait what!?" Spyro asked, watching the girl post the video online. "Great. So much for blending in."
"You were totally amazing!" Sweetie Belle said. "you're totally going to be famous Mr... what's your name?"
"Oh, Spyro." He replied. "My name is Spyro."
They were looking at their new idol with administration when they saw his shirt was slashed, barely noticing the Beskar chest plate he had on underneath, but mostly worried about the shirt.
"You're shirt's ruined." Apple Bloom said.
"Eh, it's just a shirt." Spyro said, looking at it. "My... favorite shirt, but it's just a shirt. "What matters is you kids are safe now. And you better get back to class before they show back up."
"You got it Spyro!" Scootaloo said, she and her friends running to class. "Thanks again!"
The crusaders ran off to get to class, the danger passing, but SPyro looked at his shirt, one of the strips falling down, so he covered his shredded shirt with his coat, zipping it up and looking around to make sure no one was watching him as he left. However, the two principals were watching him leave, surprised by how well he fought as he rounded the corner.
"I have a feeling he isn't a student." Luna said.
"I agree with you sister." Celestia said. "Find out what you can about this Spyro. I want to now who it is we have in my school."
Spyro walked back to the library, walking in and seeing Twilight looking in the paper version of the yearbook, looking at the human versions of their friends as she felt homesick.
"Will we be able to fix their problems Spyro?" Twilight asked.
"More than likely, we will." Spyro replied. "And I think we can save Sunset Shimmer from herself."
"What makes you think we should do that?" Spike asked.
"The darkness inside of her is eating away at her." Spyro replied. "Her negative emotions and energies are causing the Unversed to come to this world. And if we don't fix that, the Heartless will come here as well."
"You think we can save her?" Twilight asked.
"I do Twilight." Spyro said, pulling out a couple of tent orbs. "I really do."
"So, what's the plan for tomorrow?" Twilight asked.
"First, we need to get these people to like you enough to vote for you." Spyro replied, tossing the orbs up and making a couple of tents appear.
"But what about the girls?" Twilight asked. "Shouldn't we try to make them friends again?"
"That might be a challenge if we can't get them to come together and talk." Spyro replied. "But, we'll see what we can do. For now, let's get some sleep. I doubt anyone will bother us here for the night."
Spyro crawled into his tent, though it wasn't as spacious as a cottage, but it would have to do for their stay in that world, closing his eyes and going to sleep as did Twilight, though the princess was nervous about tomorrow as she closed her eyes. The next morning, Spyro was the first to wake up, crawling out of his tent and stretching right as Twilight came out, stretching and yawning as well as she looked around.
"Morning Spyro." Twilight said.
"Morning little Bookworm." Spyro replied. They both got out of their tents and a second later, they disappeared, Spyro smiling as he looked to Twilight. "Gotta love not having to pack up an entire tent. Thoiugh downside is, you can only use it once."
"Well, before I went to sleep, I compiled a list of points I can talk about." Twilight said, presenting a list. "And I got the hang of writing using these 'fingers.'"
"You made a list!?" Spike asked, laughing. "That's so like you!" Twilight turned and put her bag on the ground, pointing at it for Spike to jump into and made him laugh nervously. "Uh, please, continue."
"Smooth Spike." Spyro said. "Real smooth."
"I'll start by introducing myself." Twilight said. "Sprinkle in some things I learned about their world and-"
"Uh, maybe leave that part out." Spyro said, interrupting her. "How about you focus on some of the good aspects about yourself, do some nice things for some of the folks around here. We're trying to not appear as though we're not from this world, remember?"
"Oh, right." Twilight said, smiling nervously. "Well, today is the day we win them over and get y crown back! I have a good feeling about this."
"That's the spirit Twilight." Spyro replied. "Just think like a human and not a pony and you'll win them over in a heartbeat." They then walked out of the library and started to stroll down the hall, but before they could start making any good impressions, they saw that some of them were starring at them, more like starring at Twilight and laughing. "Or maybe not."
"Why are they laughing at us?" Twilight asked.
"I have no idea." Spyro replied. A moment later, they were pulled into another room by someone random, tossed in and slamming the door, but Spyro was ready for a fight, turning to face whoever their attacker was, but he then saw it was the human version of Rarity, relaxing a bit and lowering his arms. "Rarity?"
She didn't bother talking to them, going over and taking some measurements from Twilight, measuring her arms, legs, waist, and whatever else she needed before an idea struck her, going over to her back and pulling out a green outfit with a blonde wig.
"Perfect!" Rarity said, making rushing over and wrestling with Twilight while Spyro turned his back, letting her get Twilight changed when he looked back, finding the pony turned human wearing it and thinking how to feel about the new look. "Oh, yes, this will work perfectly. No one will recognize you now. And we'll need a disguise for your dog as well. I think I can make him look like a rabbit."
"Wait, why would she need a disguise?" Spyro asked.
Before he could get an answer, the door opened and from it, Applejack walked in, looking around and seeing them.
"Twilight, there you are!" Applejack said.
"So much for the disguise." Rarity said, looking very upset.
"Ah've been lookin' for ya everywhere." Applejack said, Fluttershy poking her head into the doorway.
"Me too." Fluttershy said as Pinkie popped her head above, coming down from the ceiling.
"Me Three!" Pinkie said, going rightside up as she skipped into the room and looked at Twilight. "I like the new look."
"Well, I do have an eye for these sorts of thigs, not that you seem to care." Rarity said.
"Seriously?" Spyro asked. "You and Pinkie are at odds as well?"
"Why do you think she doesn't care?" Twilight asked, seeing how furious Pinkie looked and Applejack indicating for her to drop the subject. "Actually, nevermind. Why were you all looking for me?"
"Oh, she hasn't seen it yet." Fluttershy said.
"Seen what?" Twilight asked.
They all looked at one another nervously, leaving both Twilight and Spyro confused as Pinkie got her laptop out, playing a video that had all of the things she was trying to do on the computer, smashing the keyboard woht her knuckles, grabbing the books with her mouth, even when she tried to use the printer.
"Twilight Sparkle wants to be your Fall Formal Princess." Sunset Shimmer said, strarting wiht the computer scene and following the order listed. "But what does it say when we give someone like such an important honor?"
A second later, twilight slammed the laptop shut, looking horrified as she looked to Spyro.
"How did she get these!?" Twilight asked. "I thought we were alone in the library!"
"Obviously not." Spyro replied.
"But... how?" Twilight asked, looking to the human version of her friends. "Did everyone in the school see this?"
"That's the darker side of the internet Twi." Spyro said. "People can post whatever they want, whether it's for entertainment, or in Sunset Shimmer's case, bullying others into dropping out."
"Oh, what am I doing to do!?" Twilight asked. "No one's going to vote for me now!"
"Not necessarily." Spyro said. "Scoot over. Let me handle this." Twilight got out of the chair and allowed Spyro to get on, opening the laptop and finding it was still on the video, so he reached for something in his right bracer and pulled out a USB cord, attaching it to the laptop as the screen went dark and codes appeared. "By bypassing the firewall on the website, I can upload a little surprise for Sunset Shimmer, deleting the video and the original footage. That should get under her skin."
"You can do that?" Applejack asked.
"Trust me little Apple Fritter, there are things that no one should know I do." Spyro replied.
A second later, a small little little humanoid like thing, but it had a bomb for a head and two fuses sticking out, acting like ears as it looked around.
"Crashbug!" It said.
"Hey Crashbug, long time no see." Spyro said. "Wanna cause some mischief?"
"Crashbug!" It replied, looking ver excited.
"Good." Spyro replied. "I need you to follow the signal from this video, delete it and the original footage, and send a little message to the one who posted it. Can you guys do that?"
"Crashbug!" The virus replied, duzens to hundreds more appearing right behind the first.
"Excellent." Spyro said. "Have fun."
A moment later, one of the bugs threw a bomb into a wall of data acting like a firewall, allowing for them to move through the internet and follow the trail all the way to the video, moving towards it. Elsewhere, Sunset Shimmer was sitting under a tree, enjoying something to drink as she saw how many views her video was getting.
"Heh, that'll show her not to mess with me." Sunset Shimmer said. "Let's see anyone vote for you now."
"Crashbug!" A Crashbug said, saying 'Surprise' in it's own language.
"What the!?" Sunset Shimmer said, knocking her drink down.
"Crash, crash!" The crashbug said, throwing a couple of bombs on either side of her screen, laughing. "Buggy, buggy, buggy, buggy, buggy!"
A second later, a screne popped up, showing Spyro looking very annoyed and surprising her.
"Hey Sunset Shimmer." Spyro said. "Keep away from my girlfriend. You're not going to play dirty this year."
Another moment later, a whole swarm of crashbugs appeared, forming into a skull that laughed at her before her laptop deactivated, making her try to reactivate it, but the laptop was down for the count, making her yell in rage. In the room everyone was in, Spyro reuploaded his virus back into his bracers before disconnecting the them from the laptop, closing it and turning to the others, who looked at him in shock.
"Yer a hacker?" Applejack asked.
"only when I need to be." Spyrp replied. "Most of the time, I'm knocking the stuffing out of bad guys."
"Right." Applejack said, leaning over to Rarity to say something. "This feller kinda scares me."
"You and me both Applejack." Rarity said. "But I doubt it'll make a difference. The whole school saw the video this morning."
"Well, even if it doesn't make a difference, I'll still vote for you." Fluttershy said to Twilight. "YYou and Spyro were both so nice to stand up against Sunset Shimmer when she was picking on me."
"Hey, if ya still wanna run, I can help." Pinkie Pie said.
"Word of advice, don't take her help." Fluttershy said, crossing her arms. "She doesn't take anything seriously."
"Wha.. why do you have to be so meanie mean to me!?" Pinkie Pie asked, clearly annoyed.
"Oh don't play innocent Pinkie Pie." Rarity said, Spyro covering his eyes. "You're no better than Fluttershy."
"WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!?" Pinkie shouted.
"It meansd she might benefit a bit more some some who can actually help and might appreciate it!" Rarity replied.
The three of them started to argue with one another, getting louder and louder while Spyro was getting more and more annoyed, the sky darknening outside as Applejack was about to try and seperate them when Spyro slammed his hands on the desk, spooking her.
"ENOUGH!" Spyro shouted, a bolt lightning hitting outside of the window and making them drop to the ground, the skies clearing up and looking at Spyro.
"What has gotten into you girls!? Twilight and I found a yearbook and it showed you girls think as thieves in previous years, but now you're at one another's throats!? What's wrong with you!?"
"He's right ya'll." Applejack said. "Get over it and move on!"
"Like how you moved on after what Rainbow Dash did?" Rarity asked.
"Drop it, now!" Spyro shouted, unintentionally using the Force and sending several desks flying, spooking them all, except for Twilight as they starred at him. He realized what had happened and took a deep breath, calming down as he used the Force to move the desks back, relaxing. "Ok, calm. Cool like a cucumber."
"This guy is definetly not normal." Applejack whispered to Fluttershy, who nodded her head.
"Look, tell me why you're all at odds with one another." Spyro said. "Give it to me straight. AJ, you start. What is your beef with RD?"
"Well, I had a bake sale go on some time ago and Rainbow Dash said she'd bring the softball team." Applejack replied. "I promised everyone they'd be there, but no tone of them showed up. She made me look like a liar!"
"Hmm, Rainbow Dash would never let her friends down, even for a moment." Spyro replied.
"And how you would know her?" Applejack asked. "We barely even know ya."
"Believe me, I know more about each of you than you know each other." Spyro replied, Twilight pulling out the Year book.
"He's right." Twilight said, opening the book. "You were all friends once."
They looked at the photo of each of them together at the park bench, smiling and looking like they were having a great time, making them smile.
"The Freshman fair." Applejack said. "Ya'll remember that?"
"I do." Rarity said. "It was an amazing day."
"But since then, you all have been enemies." Spyro said. "And I have an idea of whose behind this. Sunset Shimmer."
"it's a fair theory Spyro, but it couldn't have been her." Rarity said.
"She's right." Fluttershy said. "Sunset Shimmer didn't ruin my silent auction for the animal shelter with fireworks and noise makers. It was meant to be a serious even and Pinkie Pie ruined it."
"But that's not what you texted me that day!" Pinkie Pie said. "You said you wanted a big party!"
"Wait, a text?" Fluttershy asked. "I didn't send you a text."
"Wait, you didn't?" Pinkie asked.
"Hmm, looks like this web of lies is unraveling." Spyro said. "Pinkie, can I see your phone real quick?" Pinkie then held her phone close, glarring at Spyro. "I promise, I'm not going to upload a virus."
"Well, okie dokie then." Pinkie replied.
She was hesitant, but she gave Spyro her phone, which he looked at it and looked at the number, finding there weren't any more texts sent to her using that particula number, making him suspicious.
"Fluttershy, can you have a look at this number real quick." Spyro said, presenting the phone. "Is this your number?"
"No, no it isn't." Fluttershy replied. "That's not my number."
"One guess who it was that sent the text." Spyro said.
"Sunset Shimmer!" Pinkie screamed, yanking out cotton candy from her hair. "She made me ruin Fluttershy's special auction thingy!"
"You don't think she sent those nasty emails as well, do you?" Rarity asked. "Everytime I send an email, asking if I could help with the decorating, Pinkie Pie says she has enough volunteers, then I find out she did everything herself."
"Let me see those email real quick." Spyro asked, Rarity handing him her phone as he got a charging port out, connecting the phone as he did some digging. "Ah, here we go. Looks like the emails are coming from the same place the text messages came from."
"Sunset Shimmer!" Rarity said, looking annoyed. "Oh, I should have known!"
"Wait, so Sunset Shimmer has been tearing us apart all along?" Applejack asked. "Ruining our friendship? But why?"
"Because she's afraid." Spyro replied, giving Rarity back her phone. "She's afraid because you're the representation of five elements. The human version of our friends."
"Human version?" Rarity asked. "Whatever do you mean?"
"I'll explain everything, but only when the gang is all together." Spyro replied. "Where can we find Rainbow Dash?"
"Where else, the practice fields." Applejack replied. "But Ah doubt she'll listen to any of us if Sunset Shimmer got to her."
"Then we'll need to put some sense into her then." Spyro sai, getting up. "Come on, let's go find her."
"Uh, one moment Spyro dear." Rarity said, making him look at her. "Sweetie Belle told me how you saved her and her friends from being hurt by some brutish monsters and ruining your favorite shirt. Maybe I can fix it for you, as a way to say thanks for saving her."
"That's alright Rare, you don't need to do that." Spyro said.
"But I insist!" Rarity said, pulling out a black shirt. "I brought this with me. Might not be like your favorite shirt, but black goes well with purple."
Spyro looked at Twilight, wondering if it really was alright and she shrugged her shoulders, not knowing what to do or say, which he just smiled.
"Alright, if you insist." Spyro said. He took his jacket off, showing the damage done to it and making Fluttershy gasp, thinking he was injured, but when he removed his shirt, everyone, including Twilight, started to turn a bright red, seeing Spyro's abs and his muscles, Rarity's eyes widening while she was the brightest red, Applejack, trying to cover her eyes with her hat, but she could help but look at Spyro as he put the shirt on, putting his jacket back on as he put a locket on, feeling the cold metal against his chest as he put it under his shirt and felt the Beskar cover his torso, flexing his arms to see how they moved witht he new shirt. "Hmm, not bad. A little restrictive, but it'll work. Thanks Rarity."
"Y-y-y-y-you're... welcome." Rarity said, trying to find words, but felt extremely hot after seeing what she saw his body.
"Alright, let's go get Rainbow Dash and get this whole mess sorted out." Spyro said.
He walked out of the room, leaving the girls behind as they all recovered from what they saw, looking to Twilight in shock and awe.
"How the heck did ya land that stud Twilight?" Applejack asked. "That guy is one hunk of a hunk."
Twilight shrugged her shoulders, walking after Spyro as the others followed after him, heading out to the practice field where she was kicking balls, everyone sitting down while Spyro and Applejack walked over, the haired human version looking over and seeing Applejack and crossed her arms.
"Oh great, the heck do you want Applejack?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Rainbow, Ah just came to talk." Applejack replied. "Ah don't want us to fight anymore."
"Fine, what do you want?" Rainbow Dash asked, looking at Spyro. "And whose... wait a minute, you're the guy!"
"Guy?" Spyro asked, wondering what she meant by that. "What are you talking about?"
"You know, the guy!" Rainbow Dash. "The one who beat up those weirdos in those costums yesterday!"
"Oh, yeah, that." Spyro said.
"Dude, when I saw that video, I was beyond amazed!" Rainbow Dash said. "You were totally butt kicking awesome!" She then realized she was fan girling over him, straightening herself out to act cool like she didn't fan girl over him. "I mean, yeah, you're alright and all. So, what did you want to talk about?"
"About the bake sale." Applejack said.
"Ugh, this again!?" Rainbiow Dash snapped, turning to kick another ball
"Hear her out." Spyro said, getting her attention. "You might understand more than you would if you didn't."
"Listen, Ah'm sorry for snappin' at ya for not showin' up." Applejack said. "Ah was a mite ticked ya didn't show up that Ah didn't get yer side of the story."
"Well, for starters, you weren't even there!" Rainbow Dash replied. "I was told that the sale was moved to another date and brought the Softball team there on that date, embarrassing myself that you weren't there."
"But, Ah didn't change the date at all." Applejack said.
"You didn't?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"No, the bake sale happened when it was suppose to happen." Applejac replied. "Who told you the date was changed."
"Sunset Shimmer did." Rainbow Dash said, realizing what had happened and face smacking herself. "Of course she'd do that! I can;t believe I listened to her!"
"Yer not the only one who was affected by her." Applejack said. "She's been ruinin' everyone's friendship from the start. And Ah want us to have a fresh start. Friends?"
"Always." Rainbow Dash said, thw two hugging as they forgave and forgot, Spyro smiling as they ended the hug. "Now, how are we gonna take that liar down!?"
"Simple, we dethrone her." Spyro replied as everyone walked over. "We all have a common enemy, Sunset Shimmer. She's been ruining friendships left and right. It's high time we took her off her high horse. And I mean that literally."
"Well, I'll help, but on one condition." Rainbow Dash said, looking to Spyro. "If you beat me in a game of one-on-one."
"Are you serious!?" Twilight asked. "Why would-"
"Done." Spyro said, smiling at her. "When I win, you're so going to help us win the formal."
"Heh, oh yeah?" She asked, kicking the ball. "Readyset..."
As she kicked the ball, it went straight for the goal, but Spyro appeared in front of the net, bouncing the ball off his chest and letting it hit the ground before kicking it, hitting the goal on the other side, shocking Rainbow Dash. "Go?"
"I believe that's one to zip." Spyro said.
"Oh, I'm only just warming up." Rainbow Dash said.
She got another ball and started heading his way, kicking the ball before using both legs to spring it up and doing a flip, kicking it again, but Spyro was in front of the goal, catching it with his hand and making it spin on his finger, much to Rainbow Dash's surprise as he then tossed it and ran in Rainbow Dash's direction, the athlete trying t block him, but he kicked the ball through her legs and leapt over her, the rainbow haired girl looking at him in pure surprise as he looked ay her, winkin at her before rolling and kicking the ball again, getting another goal as Pinkie flipped the score card.
"Wow, yer boyfriend is quite the athlete." Applejack said. "Ah don't know anyone who comes close to Rainbow Dash's level."
"Trust me, you should see him without his bracers." Twilight said. "He's super fast and extremely strong with them off."
"Really?" Rarity asked. "How strong?"
"Strong enough to punch a boulder and turn it to pebbles." Twilight replied.
They then started laughing, thinking she was being funny when they realized she wasn't laughing with her, slowly, their laughter faded as they realized she wasn't kidding.
"Y-yer serious?" Applejack asked.
"Three-oh!" Pinkie said, Spyro scoring another goal.
"Wow, you're good." Rainbow Dash said, kicking the ball. "You sure you're not from a professional team?"
"Nope." Spyro replied. "Only time I was on a soccer team was back in elementary."
Rainbow Dash had a clear shot, taking it as she wound up a powerful kick, kicking it, but Spyro ran after it, going so fast he left a gold and purple streak, sliding and blocking the ball before kicking it and landing another goal, surprising Rainbow Dash.
"WHAT!?' Rainbow Dash asked. "How the heck are you that fast!?"
"Hey Rainbow, have him take the bracers off!" Pinkie said.
She looked at the bracers, seeing they were made of metal and looked at him, glarring at him almost.
"Hey, are your bracers giving you some kind of speed or something?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Nope, that's one hundred percent me." Spyro said.
"Prove it." Rainbow Dash said. "Take them off and play without them."
"Alright, it's your funeral." Spyro said.
He took the bracers off, keeping them on as he then felt lighter than air, tossing them backwards and a moment later, they hit the ground and caused a geyser of dirt and dust, shocking the human versions of Spyro's friends and Snips and Snails as they were recording everything, shocked to see the geyser.
"Holy smack!" Snips said. "How strong is this guy!?"
"W-w-w-w-w-w-w-w-what?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"Ah, much better." Spyro said. He then took a step forward and the ground beneath him cracked, creating a small crater that made everyone's hair stand up, Spyro smiling as he bent down. "Are you ready?"
"N-not really." Rainbow Dash replied.
Spyro smiled, getting ready to get the final goal when he looked up, seeing something heading towards them and saw it was an energy ball, his eyes widening as he rushed over and grabbed Rainbow Dash, turning to have his back to her as the ball hit him, causing an explosion and a large ball of black smoke, shocking them.
"Rainbow Dash!" The five girls shouted.
"Spyro!" Twilight shouted.
They looked to the ball of smoke and ash, praying they were ok as it started to disappear, fearing the worse.
"Seriously!?" Spyro shouted, sounding annoyed. "I just got this shirt!" The smoke cleared and revealed that Spyro was unharmed, standing up with Rainbow Dash coughing, looking at him as he ripped the shirt off, showing it burnt and ruined. "Oh, you're going to pay for that!"
As he threw the shirt down, a Symphony Master appeared, the instruments around it playing a deadly melody and fired another chorus at him, the energy threatening to destroy them both, but Spyro called his Keyblade, done with trying to blend in as he slashed through the energy, causing it to disappate as he ran forward, charging the massive Unversed as it continued to play, sending multiple blasts of energy at him but he just dodged and weaved throughy them all, jumping up and throwing the blade as flames surrounded his, striking the master and making it screech in pain as it felt it's body burn before Spyro landed, charging again as storm clouds gathered over head, releasing a bolt of lightning towards Spyro as he lifted his blade and the energy hit it, charging it full of power and leaping towards the Symphony Master. It then extinguished the flames around it and looked to Spyro to destroy him, but instead, the young prince slashed through it's neck, landing on the ground as it fell to the ground, turning into a cloud of dust and black smoke.
Spyro dismissed his Keyblade and turned to the others, seeing the look of fear and confusion on their faces as they looked at him.
"Ya'll definitely not from around here." Applejack said. "Or from this planet."
"Look, we'll explain everything." Spyro said, smiling. "Oh, and also, I just scored another goal."
"Waiut, what!?" Rainbow Dash asked, looking to see the soccerball in the net and groaning as she fell to the ground. "I can't believe I lost."
"Look, sorry about showing you up and about that thing, but-" Spyro said, which Rainbow Dash cheered as she sat up.
"That was totally awesome!" Rainbow Dash shouted. "I mean, even if I won,. I would have helped you guys, but that!? That was totally out of this world! Who, or what are you!?"
"As I said, we'll explain everything." Spyro said. "But, not here. We need some place more private."
"Oh, oh, how about Sugarcube Corner!?" Pinkie asked. "I work there and have a room there! We can talk there!"
"Good thinking Pinkie." Spyro said, zipping up his jacket. "Let's get going before anymore Unversed show up."
Looking at one another, wondering what an Unversed was, they followed the excited party animal to Sugarcube Corner, hoping to talk in private while Snips and Snails had just witnessed everything, their phones recording the whole thing as their mouthed were wide open.
"Please tell me you got that?" Snips asked.
"Yeah, I got it." Snails said. "He was awesome."
"Sunset Shimmer needs to see this!" Snips said. "Come on, let's get going!"
The two dimwits then ran out from behind their hiding spots, running past the door and past the guy that Spyro ran into yesterday, looking at the two guys as they ran by, seeing them snicker and wondering what it was they were up to.
