As the hospital stay came to an end, Izuku and Mina found themselves preparing for the transition to life at home with their new daughter, Miyu. The support from their friends had been overwhelming, and the gifts and well-wishes filled their hearts with joy, but the reality of parenthood was only beginning to set in.
The day they were finally cleared to leave the hospital was bright and sunny. Mina, still tired but full of excitement, packed the final items into their bag while Izuku carefully fastened Miyu into the car seat for the first time. He took extra care, making sure the straps were secure but not too tight, his hands moving with a mix of nervousness and determination.
Mina watched him with a soft smile. "You're such a careful dad already, Izuku," she teased, her voice filled with affection.
Izuku glanced up, chuckling nervously. "I just want to make sure she's safe. I can't help it," he said, double-checking the straps once more. "I think I read that guidebook a dozen times."
Mina laughed softly as she reached over, running her hand through his hair in a gentle, comforting gesture. "You're doing amazing. We both are."
Izuku blushed slightly, but the reassurance from Mina calmed his nerves. Once everything was set, they both took a deep breath, sharing a moment of excitement and anxiety. This was it—the beginning of a new chapter.
As they stepped outside the hospital, a breeze carried the scent of autumn leaves, and the sound of the city bustling around them was oddly comforting. They approached the car, and Izuku carefully placed the car seat in the back while Mina slid into the front seat. The drive home was quiet, save for the soft murmur of the radio playing in the background. Both Izuku and Mina were lost in thought, their minds racing with the realization that life had changed forever.
When they finally arrived home, Mina exhaled deeply, feeling the weight of exhaustion settle in her bones. "It's good to be back," she sighed as she looked at their modest home. It was a cozy, welcoming space, filled with the warmth of shared memories and the promise of new ones. A "Welcome Home, Baby Miyu" banner hung from the ceiling—a sweet gesture from Ochako and the others, who had snuck in earlier to decorate while Mina and Izuku were at the hospital.
"Home sweet home," Izuku said softly as he opened the door and helped Mina inside. He glanced at Miyu, still peacefully sleeping in her car seat, and smiled. "Our little family is complete."
Inside, everything was ready for Miyu. The nursery had been painted a soft pastel green, with playful hero-themed decorations on the walls. A crib stood in the corner, lined with the baby blanket Momo had given them, and a small rocking chair sat by the window, bathed in the soft glow of the afternoon light.
Izuku carefully lifted Miyu from her car seat, cradling her against his chest as Mina settled onto the couch with a sigh of relief. He walked over to her, sitting down beside her, and they both stared at their sleeping daughter in awe.
"She's so peaceful," Mina whispered, her fingers gently brushing Miyu's cheek. "I still can't believe she's ours."
Izuku nodded, his eyes shining with emotion. "Me neither. But I'm so glad she is."
They sat there in comfortable silence, their hearts full of love and hope for the future. There was still so much to learn, and they knew challenges awaited them, but in that moment, everything felt perfect.
Later that night, after a quiet dinner and some much-needed rest, Izuku and Mina found themselves in the nursery, watching as Miyu slept in her crib for the first time. The room was filled with the soft hum of a lullaby playing from the speaker Jirou had gifted them, and the frog plushie from Tsuyu sat on the shelf nearby, watching over Miyu.
Mina yawned, leaning against Izuku as they both stood by the crib. she kissed his cheek, "I think we're going to be okay," she said softly, her eyes half-closed from exhaustion but full of love.
Izuku smiled, wrapping his arm around her and pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "Yeah, we are," he agreed. "We'll figure it out, one step at a time."
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over their cozy home, Izuku and Mina finally settled on the couch after putting Miyu to sleep. They were both exhausted but filled with the kind of happiness that made everything else fade into the background. The quiet of the house, punctuated only by the soft hum of Miyu's baby monitor, felt serene.
Izuku leaned back, his eyes drifting to Mina, who was resting her head on his shoulder, her eyelids heavy with fatigue. He reached out gently, cupping her cheek in his hand, the warmth of her skin grounding him in this surreal but beautiful reality.
"Thank you," Izuku said softly, his thumb lightly brushing over her cheek. His voice was filled with emotion, his eyes tender as he gazed at her. "Thank you for delivering our baby. You're the strongest of us, Mina. I can't even begin to imagine what you went through, but... you were incredible. You're always incredible." He kissed her passionatley, wrapping his arms around her.
Mina opened her eyes and looked up at him, her heart swelling at his words as it was ringing in her head while they were kissing.. A small smile tugged at her lips, and she placed her hand over his, feeling the love in his touch. "Izuku, you've been right there with me every step of the way. I couldn't have done this without you. You've always been my strength too." She paused, her voice lowering to a whisper. "I know this was hard… but seeing you hold Miyu, seeing the way you look at her… I feel like the luckiest person in the world to be doing this with you."
Izuku's chest tightened with emotion, his eyes shimmering with unshed tears. He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead, his heart full. "We're both lucky," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper. "I promise, I'll always be here for you and Miyu. We'll figure this out together, no matter what."
Mina smiled, a tear slipping down her cheek as she reached up to wipe it away. "We already are, Izuku. We already are."
A moment passed between them, filled with the quiet understanding of two people who had been through something monumental and emerged even closer. Mina closed her eyes again, resting her head back on his shoulder, and Izuku felt a deep sense of peace wash over him.
After a few minutes of quiet, Izuku sat up slightly, pulling his phone out of his pocket. "I should call my mom," he said softly, glancing at Mina with a small smile. "She's been waiting to hear from us."
Mina chuckled, knowing how eager Inko must have been for news. "She's probably been pacing around the house, wondering if everything went okay."
Izuku grinned as he hit the call button and held the phone to his ear. It only rang once before his mom picked up, her voice coming through the line immediately, full of worry and anticipation.
"Izuku! Is everything okay? How's Mina? Is Miyu here? Is everyone alright?!"
Izuku grinned, his heart swelling at the sound of his mother's voice. "Yeah, Mom, everything's okay. Mina's doing great, and... Miyu is here. She's perfect. Healthy, happy, and sleeping right now."
There was a brief pause, and then the unmistakable sound of Inko's squeal of joy erupted through the phone. "Oh, Izuku! I'm so, so happy! My granddaughter! Oh my goodness, I've been waiting all day to hear this! How's Mina? How are you? I'm just—oh, I can't stop smiling!"
Izuku's eyes softened as he glanced over at Mina, who gave him a tired but knowing smile. "Mina's doing amazing, Mom. She's been so strong. I don't even have the words to explain how incredible she was during everything." He paused, his voice filling with pride. "She's the strongest of us."
Mina blushed softly, reaching up to lightly touch Izuku's arm as she mouthed, "Thank you."
Inko's voice came through, more composed but still filled with joy. "I knew she would be. Mina is incredible. You two must be so proud."
"We are," Izuku replied, his voice filled with warmth. He turned to Mina, who smiled back at him with a mix of exhaustion and love. "And Mom… I can't thank you enough for everything. I wouldn't be who I am without you."
There was a moment of quiet on the other end of the line before Inko's voice came back, thick with emotion. "Izuku… I'm so proud of you, and I'm so happy for you both."
After a beat, Inko cleared her throat, her voice brightening again. "So, uh... is it okay if I come by tomorrow to meet her? I promise I won't stay long—I know you two need time to settle in, but I'd love to see my granddaughter. Please, just for a little bit?"
Izuku chuckled softly, looking over at Mina, who gave him an encouraging nod. "Of course, Mom. You can come by tomorrow. Mina and I would love for you to meet her. Just make sure to bring that soup you always make," he added with a grin.
Inko laughed warmly. "Oh, I was already planning on it! And I'll bring some extra food too, just in case you need it."
"Thanks, Mom," Izuku said, his heart full. "We'll see you tomorrow."
As the call ended, Izuku put his phone down and turned to Mina, gently brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Mom's really excited. She'll be here tomorrow to meet Miyu—and she's bringing food."
Mina smiled, her eyes half-lidded with exhaustion but still bright with happiness. "Your mom's amazing, Izuku. She raised you, after all."
Izuku blushed slightly, leaning in to kiss Mina's cheek. "I'm just lucky I get to share this with you. You're incredible."
Mina reached up, placing her hand over his. "We're in this together, Izuku. Always." He kissed her hand, causing her to blush lightly.
The following morning, sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow over the nursery. Izuku stirred first, his body still heavy with sleep, but the soft whimper from Miyu's crib had him fully awake in seconds. He blinked, sitting up, and glanced over at Mina, who was still fast asleep beside him. She needed rest, and after everything she'd been through, he was determined to let her have it.
Carefully, he rose from the bed and tiptoed over to Miyu's crib, peeking down at his newborn daughter. Her tiny fists were balled up, her face scrunched in the beginnings of a cry. Izuku felt his heart swell again, just as it had the moment he first held her. Gently, he scooped her up, cradling her against his chest, and softly rocked her.
"Good morning, Miyu," he whispered, his voice barely audible in the peaceful room. "It's okay. Daddy's here."
As if soothed by his presence, Miyu's cries softened into quiet, sleepy noises. Izuku smiled, amazed at how something so small could already mean so much to him. He continued to rock her slowly, savoring the quiet morning moment between father and daughter.
Behind him, Mina stirred, blinking her eyes open and stretching slightly. "You're up early," she said softly, her voice still thick with sleep but carrying a warm smile as she watched Izuku holding Miyu.
Izuku turned to her, grinning. "I wanted to let you sleep. You deserve it after everything you've done. But Miyu had other plans," he added with a soft chuckle as he gently rocked their daughter.
Mina pushed herself up on the bed, watching the two of them. Her heart melted at the sight of Izuku cradling their daughter with such tenderness. "You're such a good dad already," she said, her voice filled with love.
Izuku's cheeks tinged pink, but his smile remained. He walked over and sat beside Mina, carefully placing Miyu in her arms. "You're the one who's amazing," he said, his tone sincere. "You brought her into this world, I figured you would sleep for the both of us."
Mina smiled, looking down at Miyu as the baby snuggled into her. "I couldn't have done it without you," she replied softly. "You've been my rock through all of this, Izuku. I don't think I would've made it through labor without knowing you were right there with me."
Izuku felt a lump form in his throat at her words. He leaned in, cupping her cheek gently, his thumb brushing her skin. "I'll always be with you," he whispered, his eyes full of emotion. "No matter what. We're in this together, Mina. You, me, and Miyu. Our little family."
Mina's eyes softened, and she leaned into his touch, feeling the warmth of his words settle deep in her heart. "We're a team," she whispered back, her voice full of love.
They sat there for a while, lost in the quiet comfort of their shared moment, watching Miyu sleep in Mina's arms. The peace was only interrupted when the doorbell rang, pulling them both out of their reverie.
Izuku perked up, glancing at the clock. "That's probably Mom," he said, standing and heading toward the door. He opened it to find Inko standing on the doorstep, her face practically glowing with excitement. She was carrying several bags—undoubtedly filled with food—and a warm, motherly smile spread across her face as soon as she saw Izuku.
"Izuku!" she exclaimed, immediately stepping forward to wrap her arms around him in a tight hug. "Oh, it's so good to see you, sweetie! How are you? How's Mina? And Miyu?"
Izuku chuckled, returning the hug before gently pulling back. "We're all good, Mom. Mina and Miyu are resting. Come on in."
Inko's eyes sparkled as she stepped inside, her gaze immediately drifting toward the nursery where she could already hear the faint sounds of her granddaughter. "I can't believe I'm about to meet her," she said, her voice full of emotion. "My granddaughter…"
Izuku led her into the room, where Mina was sitting up in bed, holding Miyu in her arms. Mina smiled warmly at Inko as she entered, and Inko's eyes filled with tears the moment she laid eyes on the tiny baby.
"Mina, you're glowing," Inko said softly, walking over and gently placing a hand on Mina's shoulder. "You did such an incredible job."
Mina blushed, a soft smile on her face. "Thank you, Inko. It wasn't easy, but… she's worth every second."
Inko's eyes shifted down to Miyu, and she let out a soft gasp. "Oh… she's beautiful. Just beautiful," she whispered, her hand coming up to her mouth as her eyes filled with happy tears. "Can I… can I hold her?"
Mina nodded, carefully placing Miyu into Inko's waiting arms. "Of course."
Inko cradled her granddaughter gently, her hands trembling slightly with emotion as she gazed down at the tiny baby in her arms. Miyu stirred slightly, her eyes fluttering open for a brief moment before she settled back into sleep.
"Hello, sweet Miyu," Inko whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "I'm your grandma. Oh, you're so precious. I'm so proud of your mommy and daddy. You're going to have so much love around you, little one. I'm going to spoil you rotten.
Izuku stood beside his mother, watching her with a soft smile. Seeing the joy in Inko's eyes as she held her first grandchild filled his heart with a warmth he couldn't describe as he laughed at her words.
After a few moments, Inko glanced up at Mina and Izuku, her eyes shimmering. "You two… I can't even begin to say how proud I am. You've created such a beautiful family."
Izuku smiled, wrapping his arm around Mina's shoulders as they watched Inko gently rock Miyu. "We had some pretty great examples to follow," he said, his voice full of gratitude.
Inko beamed at that, her heart full. She continued to hold Miyu, whispering soft words to her as Mina and Izuku exchanged a look, their hearts full of love for the little family they had created.
