Ladies and Gentleman I am back for Chapter 10!

Like always I don't own anything DC and would love to hear what you guys all think about and would possibly like to see happen next in the story.

One ore thing before we get started I just want to answer some reviews. I've been meaning to get better at answering reviews so here we go.

Deal With Itt: Still deciding on his next hero name and as far as his actual name changing... leaning towards eventually changing his last name to Kyle, but we will see

Spectacular Webhead 11: Yeah I loved adding that twist. Been trying to fit that in here for awhile.

pokemonking0924: Yeah, I wanted to change to the cowl eventually for him cause I like the Red Robin cowl. Not sure how much the remote control Batarang will appear on missions since they have people with powers that could do recon better, but we shall see.

pokemonking0924 and Batrenz: Yeah I've wanted to incorporate The Batman 2004 into this series cause I love that cartoon and in my personal opinion I think I rate it higher than The Animated Series by a hair, just cause I think it did some things better. And its also way better then that garbage Beware the Batman. I plan to add more of The Batman 2004 into this, so stick around for that.

Darcy: Me too lol

Diabolos Aides: I had a lot of fun finally finding the spot to work in that twist.

I lied, one more thing. Shout out to one of my best friends and beta reader greenansatsu for helping me catch some of my spelling and grammar errors. Also shout out to those who liked and followed the story and myself as well!

Now... onto the story

YOUNG JUSTICE

DOWNTIME

GORDON RESIDENCE

AUGUST 21, 02:00 EDT

Nathan laid there on the couch staring at the ceiling, right through those few inches of wood was Barbara. He kept thinking back to earlier during the fight for the remote, when she was on top of him, the feeling of her weight on top of him, her breath on his face. He shook his head and forced his eyes away from the ceiling. Barbara was his best friend next to Dick, sure he had started to think of Barbara as more than a friend, but there were so many reasons it wouldn't work. The first was Lily, there was still emotional baggage left from her loss, though if anyone in the world understood his pain it was Barbara. She lost her mom, and knew Lily so she would be understanding, and she was the one who helped him through the grief and recovery after the attack.

Of course there was also the fact that he was Red Robin, protege to Batman, and part of The Team. He was constantly putting himself in danger and making dangerous enemies, that wasn't the life he could subject her too. Although her father is the Commissioner of Gotham, probably one of the most dangerous jobs outside full superherodom. Plus she actually wants to be a vigilante as well. He didn't approve of it, he knew how dangerous it was, and didn't want her to get hurt, but he knew he was being a hypocrite.

He spent the next thirty minutes letting his mind circle back and forth on reasons why he should and shouldn't want to be with Barbara, all the time staring at the same spot of the ceiling like he could see through it to the sleeping form of Barbara above him. He was finally shaken from his thoughts when he heard the front door open. He was so lost in his thoughts that he lost his sense of place and jumped up and turned towards the sound, starting to put himself into a fight position, only to come face to face with Commissioner Gordon, who had just pulled his gun and was pointing it in his direction.

"Woah Commish!" Nathan stated, raising his hands.

"Oh Nathan," Commissioner Gordon relaxed, realizing the threat that was itching at the back of his mind was his daughter's best friend, "What are you doing here son?" he asked, holstering his pistol.

"Barbara invited me over to watch TV, and we got caught up with a movie and Barbara told me to stay. She didn't want me traveling so late." he defended, then added with a smile, "even I know better now then to argue with her," he finished, getting a small chuckle from the Commish.

"How'd wrapping up those Yakuza members go?" Nathan asked, intrigued.

"Pretty smooth," Gordon answered, "that disc that Red Robin left for us was a gift to stopping more organized crime from making its way into Gotham," he said, "I just wish I could thank him," Gordon ended, sliding his hand through his hair, his face wearing a tired expression.

"I'm sure he knows," Nathan said, laying back down on the couch, allowing Gordon to make his trek to his bed himself.

Nathan laid with his eyes open some more, drifting back to his thoughts, but eventually, he did drift into some much needed sleep.

GORDON RESIDENCE

AUGUST 21, 09:00

Nathan awoke to the smell of something wonderful coming from the kitchen of the Gordon household. He stretched and got out from under the blanket Barbara had given him and made his way, scratching the back of his head as he did so, to the kitchen.

He found Barbara hard at work making breakfast, which included pancakes with bacon and eggs.

"You know if you had woke me, I could have helped," Nathan stated, taking a mug of coffee that Barbara had literally just finished for him.

Barbara playfully scoffed at him, "Thanks, but I'd actually like to be able to eat the food too."

"Everyone's a critic," Nathan grumbled.

"You're almost as bad as dad. You get distracted way too easily," she defended her reasoning, smirking at him.

"Oh really." he asked with confidence.

Barbara walked towards him, just as he was lifting his mug to take a sip and as she approached, she could see him watching her out of the corner of his eye.

She casually got real close to him and leaned in so her mouth was up against his ear, her breath tickling him, "Yeah," she breathed out slowly, causing Nathan to spill his coffee on his shirt.

"Agh," he groaned, I- I liked this shirt."

"Way too easily," she repeated.

As Barbara made their plates, and one for her dad too, and started to eat, they told each other what went on with their lives during the time they had decided to give each other the silent treatment after their argument about Barbara's night activities.

They had finished eating when Jim Gordon came down and started his day. Nathan gave his thanks to Jim for allowing him to stay and made his way to the door to leave, followed by Barbara. Nathan ran through all his thoughts and arguments from last night, and came to the conclusion that he would leave the decision in Barbara's hands. I mean the worst she could say is no right?... or punch me in the face, or something else along those lines, his brain argued with him.

Once they were both outside, Nathan stopped and turned around to face her, "Thanks for letting me stay last night."

"You're welcome."

Nathan took a few steps closer to Barbara, but still left some distance between them, in case he needed a quick exit.

"B- Bar- Babs," he poorly started, "Would you want to go to dinner or maybe the movies with me this weekend?" he asked, speaking fast to try and get his poor attempt of asking her out over with as soon as possible."

"Yeah," she answered a little confused as to why he was struggling, "We always do that kind of stuff. Is Dick coming too?" she asked.

"What?" Nathan asked, a little taken back by her return question, "Oh no, he uh he's busy. He won't be able to join us." Nathan spoke, trying to think of an excuse. Back pedal out of this man his brain chimed in.

"Well yeah I'll go," she replied happily, "It'll be nice hanging out with you again."

"Yeah… yeah it would," Nathan said, his voice becoming quiet and dejected, "I should get going then," he started, thinking of an excuse to leave, "I got some… things to take care of first." he finished as he back pedaled and spun to start walking forward.

"Alright sounds good, let me know when." she said as she made to go back inside.

GOTHAM CITY

AUGUST 23, 14:05 EDT

Red Robin crouched on top of the same apartment complex he did the other day minding his own business and just patrolling the city, making his rounds. He decided he needed to blow off some frustration after he attempted to finally ask Barbara out, but she didn't realize it for some reason and figured they were just going out as friends.

"Maybe that's all we're supposed to be?" he mumbled to himself.

"All who's supposed to be?" came the sultry voice of the feline he got pretty well acquainted with last night.

"I'm not in the mood." Red Robin grumbled.

"Ahhh," she cooed, as he turned to look at her, but kept his crouched position, "I know that look," Catwoman continued, sighing but her voice took a slight genuine tone to it this time, "girl trouble." she spoke, as she made her way over next to him and took a seat, looking at the city below.

"No." he defended himself, but rather a little too quickly and Catwoman caught on. Red Robin looked over and noticed the knowing look Catwoman was giving him.

"What?" he asked, using the same tone she used last night when he made her give up the remote control she tried to keep from his belt.

"Don't play dumb with me. Women sense these kinds of things." she said, smirking at him, "Hard to imagine you having girl trouble," she purred, "not with the way that cowl sets off your chin," echoing her statement from last night, "Or is Batgirl," she paused for a second, making sure she got the name right, "immune to your looks." her smirk became a full smile, when she recognized the small blush coming from the teen beside her.

"It's not her." he added calmly, surprising himself with how calm that came out.

"Really?" Catwoman asked, unbelievingly, "Well if it's not her then you're probably out of uniform when you meet this... mystery girl then," she thought aloud, "that definitely doesn't help since girls dig guys in uniform." she playfully joked with him, nudging him in the elbow.

"Ha ha," Red Robin returned, unamused, but wore a small smile.

"Did you even ask her yet?" Catwoman probed.

"Yeah, kinda" he sighed dejectedly, in return to her question, "I don't think she realized what I was asking her."

"Well you told her where you were coming from then right?" she asked, but when she was met with only silence, she slapped his arm, playfully.

"Why didn't you?" she asked with concern.

"I panicked." he answered, his voice sounding defeated.

"You should have pushed the topic," she advised him, but she used a tone that said she was coaching and not trying to tease or poke fun at him, "Told her what you actually wanted."

"So I could get humiliated?" he asked, his voice coming back, "Ow" he said suddenly, has he got punched in the arm.

"I doubt that. If Batgi - I mean this mystery woman," she corrected herself after getting a look from Red Robin, though that knowing look returned to her face as he glared at her, "and you are as close friends as I think you are, she probably confuses her emotions sometimes."

When her only response was a sigh she glared slightly, deciding to give him a boost, "You want my advice?" she asked rhetorically, "go back there and get her."

Red Robin stood up and looked down at her with a smirk of his own, "Thanks, but why would I take your advice?" he asked rhetorically this time, "Especially when you and Batman can't get your own act together."

"Hmmm," Catwoman sighed, giving him a small glare, but a smirk worked its way onto her face.

He dove off the building and freefalled some, before grappling away, dodging a punch from Catwoman, who watched him leave, smile on her face.

GORDON RESIDENCE

AUGUST 26, 14:00 EDT

Nathan had taken several days to mull over what Catwoman had advised him on.

He had just finished running an errand for Alfred and was walking back to the manor, but his course took him past Barbara's and stopped at the start of their walkway and sighed, before making the trek up to the front door

Nathan knocked at the door and danced on his feet, waiting in anticipation for Barbara to answer. He heard her voice coming from the other side before she opened it.

"Nathan," she said surprised, "Come in."

"That's ok," he said, and so she stepped out onto the porch and closed the door behind her, "I was in the area and wanted to stop by real quick." he finished.

"Ok," Barbara nodded, "What's up?" she asked, a smile on her face.

"Well about earlier," he paused, taking a breath, "W-what I meant, w-was maybe w-we could, eer what I mean is, maybe you and I," he fumbled some more before sighing in defeat, deciding to start over.

"Nathan."

"Well what I'm t-trying to say i-is."

"Nathan."

"Well what if you and I went -"

"Nathan!" Barbara shouted this time, getting his attention.

"Yeah?" he asked confused, his voice leaving him again, getting quieter as he spoke his question.

Barbara smiled, and giggled at the look on his face, before leaning in and kissing him on the cheek, "I'd love to," she whispered, her voice right next to his ear, sending shivers through him as she spoke.

Nathan was in shock, "Love to what?" he asked dumbly, as she slowly pulled back, before current events caught up with him and smacked him in the face.

"Oh yeah?" he asked, his excitement taking over.

"Mmmhmm" Barbara answered, edging him on, the smile never leaving, as she got amusement out of his reaction.

"The Sorcerers' Apprentice is in theatres," he stated, getting a nod from her, "Would you maybe want to go see it with me tonight?" he asked.

"It's a date," she smoothly spoke, and kissed him again on the cheek before returning inside, leaving a lovestruck Nathan on her porch.

Nathan entered back into reality when his phone went off with a notification of The Team getting a mission from Batman. He immediately kicked it into high gear and took off, hoping this wouldn't take too long so that he could get ready for his date.

Gotham City

August 26, 19:15 EDT

Nathan was walking around the block of the Gordon household for the second time. Come on Nathan get it together, it's just Barbara, it's just a movie. You've done this tons of times before. Of course none of those were actual dates… Whatever it'll be fine, just be yourself.

After his internal pep talk Nathan finally made his way to Gordon's front door and was about to knock when he heard a ringing from his pocket. "You have got to be kidding me!" He sighed as he pulled out his phone and saw the alert from The Team, calling for an immediate meetup for a mission.

Nathan was torn, but knew what he had to do. He gently knocked on the front door of the Gordon's home. He had barely touched the wood for the third time and Barbara was pulling the door open. She was wearing a simple green sleeveless sundress, which brought out the shine of her hair and gave her blue eyes a mystical look as it reflected the green from the dress. "Wow" Nathan said, "you look amazing."

"Thank you, you don't look too shabby yourself, you ready to go?" She replied peppily.

Nathan looked down and tapped his toe against the steps. "Umm about that... "

"You're breaking up with me already?" she asked playfully.

"WHAT!, no of course not, I'd never, what I mean is that I forgot about a prior obligation I had with Bruce this evening, he just called me asking where I was, he didn't sound happy. I was supposed to be there at 7. I was just so excited for tonight I forgot completely about it, I hope you don't hate me too much for having to bail" Nathan Rambled.

"Ugh, I told you, you are too easily distracted." She sighed, she reached out and patted his cheek "I'll let you off the hook this time, but you owe me big time mister. We can talk about rescheduling later, call me once you are done with whatever this big Bruce Wayne project is. You better go before you get in even more trouble." She finished, letting him off the hook.

Nathan let out a breath he was holding in relief. "Thank you so much for being understanding, I'll try to be more tracted going forward." He replied

"Oh no, please not you with that word butchering as well. I deal with that from Dick, it's not as funny coming from you." She growled.

"Ok Ok, no reason to rip my head off, now I do need to go, I'm so sorry I promise I will make it up to you" He said as he started to back down the stairs.

Barbara reached out her hand and grabbed his, stopping him she leaned down and kissed him on the cheek. "I know you will, but don't expect me to get this dolled up everytime, especially if you are going to be ditching me."

"Won't happen again, I promise" Nathan said as he mentally forced himself to look away from Barbara and start making his way home so he could get his uniform and meet up with the team.

This mission better be worth it...

GOTHAM CITY

AUGUST 27, 06:17 EDT

Red Robin's vision was currently changing from fuzzy to black and back to fuzzy as he was almost completely covered in clay and stuck against the wall, and couldn't breath with the clay that Clayface had put over his mouth and nose.

Batman had ordered the team to bring in Clayface, Basil Karlo, as he escaped from Arkham Asylum and apparently still had his clay powers. Batman, Robin and Red Robin had used some of the time to try and relocate Ethan Bennett, but not even Batman could locate him and so as much as they really wanted to find Ethan, they had to change their focus to the Clay Menace.

Clayface recognized Robin and Red Robin immediately and looked to try to take them out first for payback for locking him up in Arkham. Clayface had been able to pin Red Robin to the wall and made him bait for the rest of the team. As the rest of the team tried to save him before he passed out… or worse, Clayface was able to take them out one by one until Aqualad alone remained.

Red Robin wasn't sure why, but since being allowed to rejoin The Team after his suspension, something was off with Aqualad. It was hard to notice with all the hazing he was getting from the rest of the team. They weren't taking his suspension well and let him know it. Even Canary was getting in on the action, during sparring sessions she picked at him when they fought, causing him to get angry, which led to him getting put on his back by Black Canary every time. The only person to not join in on the verbal and physical taunts was Aqualad, who he expected to be the harshest with him, however Aqualad seemed distant and distracted from what was going on with the Team.

He tried to keep focus, to keep his eyes from shutting as he tried to get himself free to help his leader against Clayface, but he was unable to and as he started to completely lose his vision he heard a crash from the ceiling, but he was unable to look up to see what was happening because black overtook everything.

MOUNT JUSTICE

AUGUST 27, 07:58 EDT

"I need to speak to Aqualad. The rest of you," Batman addressed, "hit the showers and head home."

"Head home?" asked Superboy frustrated, "I am home."

Red Robin, already on this ice, and extremely thankful to Batman for freeing him from his clay prison, allowing him to catch his breath, took off in a jog as everyone else just walked. He did look back and hear Batman even dismiss Robin from what he was going to talk to Aqualad about, and he saw how that angered the teen, even if what he showed was minimal.

Red Robin quickly showered and arrived at Wayne Manor and immediately pulled out his phone to continue texting Barbara why he had to cancel their date last minute. He signed when she still hadn't responded since she said that it was "ok" and Nathan had continuously texted after that apologizing every other text.

He decided to send one more text asking if they could redo their date today and look at some case files at GCPD, which surprisingly to him after a couple minutes got a yes in reply.

GOTHAM CITY

AUGUST 27, 16:04 EDT

Nathan was casually walking around the manor with his phone in hand paying attention to the texting thread he had with Barbara when he heard someone using the training room and saw Dick upside down on the still rings.

"Just Aqualad," Nathan heard Dick grumble to himself.

He watched as Dick gave himself some momentum to then flip backwards and try to land on a raised and padded platform, but Dick overshot his target and lost his balance and fell towards the floor but was able to flip himself upright, but still stumbled back towards the wall, his back hitting the solid surface.

Nathan raised an eyebrow when Dick immediately turned and his fist made contact with the wall, denting it. Dick then started to angrily walk his way.

"You umm ok?" Nathan asked.

"No." came his friend's angered response.

Nathan, as Dick passed him, put a hand on his shoulder to hopefully consolidate his best friend, but as he did, Dick spun around and was about to connect his fist to Nathan's face, if the latter didn't duck.

"Dude! What the heck?" Nathan asked, getting angered himself now.

"Just back off." Dick shot back, "I don't need help from the extra sidekick."

Nathan matched the glare he was getting from Dick now and stared him down.

"You need to solve whatever this is," Nathan started angrily, gesturing to Dick's person, "I never understood why Dick is a nickname to Richard, but you're definitely acting like one," he then paused to let his words sink in, "heavy on the lowercase." he finished before walking off.

GOTHAM CITY

SEPTEMBER 3, 17:30 EDT

Nathan sat in the back of Bruce's car while Alfred drove him to the GCPD. Since their movie plans had been ruined Barbara and him had decided to try something a bit more lowkey for their first foray into the dating scene, they were going to review cold cases. Sure it was something that they did all the time as friends, but they decided even if they were going to start dating they were still friends, they could still do the same things, just now there might be some kissing involved.

Even though this should have been like all the other times he hung out with Barbara, he was still nervous. He knew he wasn't the most suave of people, and he was really afraid of messing something up and making Barbara hate him. "She is your best friend Nathan, she would never hate you" Nathan mumbled to himself.

"Quite correct; Miss Gordan is a reasonable young lady, as long as you don't do anything too egregious I doubt your friendship with her will be in any question." Said Alfred from the front.

Nathan jumped at the words he didn't realize that he had spoken out loud, but he took Alfred's words to heart. "You're right, I just need to be myself, I was good enough to get this date, so I can be good enough to go on this date."

"Sensible theory, I'm sure you will do masterfully, now we are here so unless you plan on sitting there for the rest of the evening, I suggest you go meet your paramour" Replied Alfred.

Nathan nodded and opened the door, "Thank you again Alfred for driving me." said Nathan as he closed the door and turned towards the entrance to the police station. He took the stairs two at a time and entered the double doors. Nathan waved to Bryson who was manning the check in desk as he made his way over to the door to the back area. Nathan continued his journey through the building heading to the archives. He made quick greetings and waves to anyone he knew or recognized as he made his way though. As he got to the deeper portions of the building though Nathan noticed that he was slowing down. His nerves were starting to build up again, he came to a stop at the last door that led to the archives where he knew Barbara would be waiting, he took a couple of deep breaths and reminded himself of everything that Alfred had said, and opened the door.

As Nathan walked in he immediately scanned the room for Barbara, and quickly found her sitting at their usual desk, a box of files already sitting out waiting for them to review. She was wearing blue jeans and a light jean jacket over a black Tee shirt. Nathan had expected her more casual wardrobe for this date. The archives were kept cool and dry, and had a tendency to get really dusty, her outfit was practical, which was one of the things that Nathan liked about Barbara, she usually kept her head on straight, except that whole Batgirl nonsense.

Barbara looked up as he closed the door. "Get your head out of the clouds mister and come over here. I think I found an interesting one for us to look at today."

Nathan laughed and made his way over to the table where Barbara was sitting at. "I've already found an interesting thing to look at, thank you very much." He said as he sat down next to her and smiled.

"Oh great, I agree to go on one date with you and suddenly you are becoming Don Juan? Hard pass the archives can't fit such an inflated head." She teased as she smirked at him.

Nathan smirked back "We wouldn't want that to happen, there is a reason we don't invite Dick to our investigations, he could barely make it into the building, let alone back here." Nathan tried to keep the smirk on his face but it did drop a bit as he mentioned Dick and he remembered their last conversation.

Barbara immediately noticed the change on his face, and inferred something happened. "Is everything ok between you and Dick?" She asked with a touch of worry in her voice.

"I think so, he was in a bad mood earlier, and I think I stumbled on him at the wrong time, we both said some harsh words to each other. I just hope he gets whatever is bothering him out of his system, I just regret saying what I did, he just got under my skin." Nathan answered her sincerely.

"Ugh, you boys always fighting with each other, tell you what, once we are done here, you are going back to Dick and apologizing" Nathan went to say something but Barbara just talked right over him "Nope don't want to hear excuses, I don't care if he started it, you are best friends and there is no reason to fight, it'll be easier and simpler if you just apologize. If you do, you'll have a very happy girlfriend, who is proud of her boyfriend for being the bigger man." She finished with a smug look, as she crossed her arms.

Nathan was going to respond, but hearing her say boyfriend stopped him in his tracks. Hearing her say that word while looking at him caused his brain to stop. He knew he asked her out, he knew she said yes, but this was the first time she had called him, her boyfriend, it brought the reality of the situation home to him all over again. "Who am I to argue with such wise words from my girlfriend" he replied with a beaming smile.

"You better get used to saying those words, I like hearing them" She giggled, and then leaned over and kissed him on the cheek. "Now, I believe the terms of this date were to look at these files not talk about your dysfunctional bromance with Dick."

Nathan resisted the urge to touch his cheek where Barbara had just kissed him and instead turned towards the file that was laying on the table. "So what case are we looking at today"

GOTHAM CITY

SEPTEMBER 3, 20:45 EDT

Nathan was reading over the last notes from the detective who was working the case Barbara had chosen for them. They had made some interesting observations about the case, and did want to see if the Commissioner could get some additional information from the classified documents that he kept in his office. Nathan looked up to see what Barbara was doing and noticed that she was gone. "Barbara?" he called out as he stood up, only to feel a pair of arms wrap around him from behind. Nathan turned around in her hug and replicated the gesture for her pulling her close to him. "Where did you go?" Nathan asked as he pulled away from her just enough to look into her eyes.

"I was just putting away the extra files we didn't need, I think we've worked enough for one night, now I want to spend some time getting to know my boyfriend a bit better." Barbara replied coyly.

Nathan and Barbara stood facing each other, Barbara with her arms wrapped around Nathan's neck and loosely resting on his shoulders. She pushed him back against the table where the case files they were looking were still laying forgotten in the moment. Nathan had both arms around her waist slowly pulling her closer to him. The two teens with their eyes closed as they inched closer and closer to what they both wanted for awhile now.

Nathan pulled Barbara in, arching her back slightly, as he leaned forward slightly to meet her, but ended up resting his forehead against hers as he started to lose his nerves with what they were about to do.

"Barbara," he whispered very shakily.

Barbara had her eyes closed and was losing herself in their closeness, but she knew what he was conveying to her by just saying her name.

"You got this lover boy," she lovingly sighed back. She was just able to hold down her own butterflies, which threatened to make her voice sound just as shaky as Nathan's.

Barbara smiled, as she felt him move one of his hands slowly up her back, and come to rest at the back of her neck, thumb on her right cheek, and start to slowly pull her closer to finish what they started, but her face morphed into a frown when their lips were just about to connect when Nathan's phone went off.

Nathan froze, not sure what to do, his phone was going off in his pocket and he knew it was Batman about a Team mission, but the girl in his arms was the one of his dreams and he was so close to finally kissing her that he started to debate in himself what to do.

"You gonna answer that?" Barbara spoke, opening her eyes, this time the shakiness in her voice had let itself known to Nathan.

"The one time I'm completely focused and trying to achieve what I've been dreaming of and you want me to get distracted and answer my phone?" he asked jokingly to her, his voice still more shaky than hers.

"Just answer your phone," she irritably sighed back at him, but chuckled as he sighed in defeat, as he let his arms fall away from her and pulled out his phone, and walked away from the table.

"Hello," he answered defeated, as Barbara walked over to the desk Nathan had just vacated and leaned against it, as she watched him, a smile on her face, as he spoke into the phone.

"Noooo," Nathan sarcastically started, "you didn't interrupt anything Bruce," he groaned.

"Now?" he pouted, giving Barbara a sorrowful look, before looking away so he could focus on his call.

"Yes I have something better to do," Nathan argued, but then a look of confusion and a smile crossed his face. Did I hear Batman just chuckle? He thought at first out of bewilderment, which then turned to anger, He knows exactly what he's pulling me away from… jerk.

"Yeah I'll be there soon," he sighed in defeat, before hanging up the phone and giving Barbara his defeated look.

She smirked, at the look she was getting, and noted to make that look appear more often.

"Go ahead, you can go," she genuinely told him. She didn't like their date getting interrupted again, but she knew he had other priorities that she still wanted him to keep.

"Thanks Babs. I promise to make this up to you." he stated while making his way to the door and disappearing from her sight.

She sighed and turned to start putting the case files away, when she felt herself get spun on a dime and was surprised at first when lips met hers, but she realized quickly what was happening and melted in the arms that held her and returned the favor.

What felt like forever was over quick and she opened her eyes and stared into Nathan's eyes.

"Something for you to look forward too for our next date, err next make up date." he said before making his leave again, leaving Barbara off in space for a few seconds, before she returned back to earth, a big smile on her face as she returned to packing up the case files.

GOTHAM CITY

SEPTEMBER 3, 21:08 EDT

Red Robin landed in the alleyway not far from the nonfunctional telephone booth that would zeta him to The Cave where the rest of the team was probably already waiting for him.

As he made his way to the telephone booth, he quickly spun on his heels, birdarang out and ready to go, but relaxed when he saw Robin, standing up from just landing in the alleyway, his facial expression though was slightly hardened towards the younger teen though because of earlier.

"Dude," Robin greeted, then his face frowned, "I just wanted to catch you to apologize for earlier. I didn't mean to take it out on you, but I handled it."

"It's fine Rob. I said some things I regret too, so friends again?" he asked, stretching his fist out towards his partner, which was almost immediately greeted by a fist from Robin.

"You first." Robin insisted, and Red Robin shrugged and got into the telephone booth, which came to life with a yellow light from the inside.

[Recognized Robin B Zero-One]

Red Robin, followed soon by Robin, arrived at The Cave and immediately made their way over to Kid Flash, Miss Martian and Superboy who all stood by Batman, who stood in front of a holo-screen of Bialya Nathan recognized.

[Recognized: Aqualad B Zero-Two] introduced the computer.

Aqualad walked towards the group of teens and once he got there turned to face Batman, "I am here one hundred percent," he stated.

"Good. Just in time for your next mission," Batman addressed him, before turning his attention to them as a team, "The Watchtower detected an immense power surge from the Bialyian desert…"

Alright guys and gals. That concludes this chapter. Not sure when the next one will be posted, cause both mine and greenansatsu's schedules get busy in October, but I'll be sure to post ASAP once I finish writing it and greenansatsu gets the time to beta read to fix things I missed.

In the meantime, feel free to leave reviews and PM if you have any kind of other scenes you may want to see between Barbara and Nathan. There is a plan for their relationship but you want to see them work through some things you think would be interesting please PM me and we can chat about it.

That's all for now, have good rest of your day/night...
