Verosika left with Wally after hugging and kissing Cody farewell. Of course, Cody returned the same, hugging and kissing her. Kiki, Millie, and Moxxie went home, too. Blitzo stuck around Stolas's palace to wrap up a few things. He was going to meet Cody and Loona back home. Cody, Loona, and Jesus went through a portal to where Tommy, Melman, and Mikey were in Baxter's place. Slade, Kim, Fuko, and Octavia followed but stayed outside the room in the hallway.
"Cody!" Melman exclaimed.
"You're alive!" Mikey cried.
Melman and Mikey were overjoyed to see Cody as they hugged him fiercely and cried happy tears.
"We looked everywhere for you!" Mikey cried.
"Where the heck were you?! Where are we?!" Melman demanded.
Melman and Mikey talked about how they searched for him all over. Tommy hugged him as well but wanted answers. How he has a metal arm and leg, how his face and body aren't burned, and how Cody is taller, stronger, and looks older. Then Jesus walked in, and everyone fell silent. Cody and Jesus explained everything. Cody has angelic powers from his soul, being the son of Azrael, the Archangel of Death, the corruption of Heaven, being knighted, Hell's Civil War, the Grimms, and the I.S.N.A.
The boys and Tommy were stunned. Mikey cried with complete worry for his parents, and Melman was petrified when he learned he was a werewolf and that he had killed people.
"Oh my god! I killed those people?! What have they done to me?!" Melman exclaimed while holding his head.
Cody rushed over and held him from behind to calm him down.
"Mel! Mel! Calm down!" Cody said as they struggled, "Breathe! Breathe."
Eventually, Melman calmed down in Cody's arms and steadied his breathing.
"Melman, listen to me. All of you, listen. I have a plan to help you. Melman, two friends of mine can help you with your werewolf problem. You can't cure it, but you can tame it. Serena and Crystal have dealt with people who struggled with their werewolf sides. They'll take you to the Spirit Realm, where you walk 'The Path of the Wolf.' You'll learn to control your werewolf side there," Cody explained.
"Tame it? What like training?" Melman asked.
Cody nodded. Loona pulled out her phone and called Crystal and Serena.
"If he's going to the Spirit Realm, what will happen to me?" Mikey asked nervously.
"With the I.S.N.A. still out there and the whereabouts of your parents unknown, it's too dangerous for you to go to the service. However, we may have a place here that'll take good care of you. Charlie and Vaggie. Charlie is the Princess of Hell and Lucifer's daughter. She's one of the kindest and most caring people you'll ever find," Jesus answered.
"She is?" Mikey asked.
"Oh yes, my child. She runs a hotel to rehabilitate sinners so that they can have a shot to go to Heaven. Turns out demons actually can be redeemed, but Heaven won't let them in because of their corrupted and misguided views," Jesus explained.
Tommy was scratching his head, "And you can't take away their wings and banish them because you don't know which angels are the bad ones?"
"Exactly. It's like trying to find bad cops at a police station. They're all in the same uniform, behind the same badge."
Tommy turned to his younger brother, "Also, you gave me some of your blood to enhance my body?"
Cody nodded.
"Is that why I got killer muscles?" Tommy asked while pointing at his abs.
Loopty and Lipton stepped in with Baxter. Mikey and Melman were scared by their appearance, but Cody and Jesus assured them that they come in peace.
Lipton spoke first, "We figured once you recovered, you'd want some payback on the I.S.N.A. for attacking you and your wife."
"So, we attached robotic limbs to serve you in combat and some of Cody's super blood to make you stronger, faster, and better than a normal man," Loopty said.
"I am currently cloning limbs with samples of your DNA. Once they are finished, I can surgically attach them to you, and it will be as if you never lost an arm and a leg," Baxter said.
Cody cleared his throat, "However, the new limbs and my blood are half of the equation. Now, you need to begin your training to be an elite warrior. That's why I've asked Slade, Shadow, and Fuko to train you to master your new enhanced strength. Slade is a former sniper for Canadian Special Forces, Joint Task Force 2, who hunted terrorists for a living, and he was very successful at it. Shadow and Fuko are elite ninjas. They can make you into a deadly killer to hunt down the I.S.N.A."
Tommy stood up to stretch his body, "Good, because I do want payback on those bastards, but first, where's my wife?"
"She's staying at Prince Stolas's palace. He's agreed to look after and protect her. He's also made the necessary arrangements for the baby," Jesus answered.
"Baby?" Melman and Mikey asked in unison.
"Oh yeah, you didn't know. Celeste is pregnant. She's going to have a baby," Cody stated with a smile.
"So, that means she's going to be a momma. Tommy's going to be a dad, and you'll be an uncle!" Mikey pointed out.
Cody nodded, "Yep."
Mikey smiled joyfully, "That's wonderful!"
"You have to keep her safe!" Melman exclaimed.
Everyone turned to him, confused. Their smiles were gone with raised eyebrows.
"This is Hell! There are demons here. If something happens to her—"
"Melman, Melman, my child. I promise you, Celeste will be kept safe. Stolas and his daughter, Octavia, won't let anything bad happen to her. They're both very powerful demons of the Goetia Family. I assure you, Celeste is well protected," Jesus assured.
Melman breathed a relaxed sigh, "Okay, good."
Loona walked in with Slade, Fuko, Kim, and Octavia. Mikey and Melman were nervous around them, but Cody calmed them down and introduced them.
"Guys, you remember my adoptive mother, Loona. She's a Hellhound demon, but she's a good person who loves me to death, and I love her just as much. That's her boyfriend, Slade. This is Octavia, Princess Octavia. Prince Stolas's daughter. She and her father will keep Celeste safe and well-provided. This is Fuko, one of the elite ninjas I told you about. He and Slade will train you, Tommy, to be like them, an elite warrior. Once you're training is done, we'll provide you with all the necessary gear and weapons you'll need," Cody explained.
"Good. Nice to you," Tommy said, shaking their hands.
"You too, but the training ain't gonna be nice," Slade said, shaking his hand.
"It'll be hard, but if you're the fighter that Cody says you are, then it'll be a cakewalk," Fuko added.
"Who's she?" Mikey asked.
"This is Kim. She's my girlfriend," Cody answered while putting his arm around her shoulder, and she placed her hand around his waist.
Tommy and the two boys' eyes widened with a dumbfounded look.
"Girlfriend?" Tommy asked.
"Girlfriend?!" Melman and Mikey exclaimed.
"Yep, Cody's mine now. My Cody-Bear," Kim said before kissing Cody on the lips, "I know you got a bro pack thing and whatever, but I'm keeping him."
Melman and Mikey stood there with their jaws hitting the floor while Tommy gave his little brother this look.
"So, you're a knight, the Guardian of Hell, rich, famous, and you got a girlfriend?" Tommy asked.
"Yep," Cody nodded.
"Well, when the frigging heck were you gonna tell me, little bro?!"
"Somewhere during the baby shower, I guess."
Tommy leaped from his bed, got Cody in a lock, and gave him a nuggie. They laughed for a while until Loona spoke.
"I'd hate to break up your bro-mance, but I got off the phone with Crystal and Serena. They've agreed to help Melman, and they're ready to meet him," Loona said.
"Okay, have you called Charlie and Vaggie about Mikey?" Cody asked.
"Not yet."
"Alright. I'll take Melman to meet Crystal and Serena in Howler Haven. Then, I'll come back, and we can take Mikey to meet Charlie and Vaggie."
"Before you go, we have something for Moxxie," Lipton said.
Loopty brought in a rifle, but not just any rifle. It was a blessing-tipped rifle—a black and white bolt action rifle with shiny tribal markings all over it. The barrel was very strange-looking, almost like a thin cone narrowing to the end of the barrel, and there was a bipod between the barrel and the frame. Lipton and Loopty explained that it could fire holy 'blast' rounds and, therefore, needed a barrel with a built-in barrel that could withstand both intense heat and shocks from the blast. Everyone was impressed and looked upon it with awe.
"Thank you very much. This will serve him well," Cody said as he placed it in his infinite cube.
"Don't lose or break it," Lipton said.
Cody summoned a portal to Howler Haven, taking Melman, Kim, and Fuko. Jesus took Tommy to Celeste at Stolas's palace. Loona stayed behind with Slade, Mikey, and L&L. Crystal and Serena were able to find a place of their own. It was a townhouse, but a nice one and in a good neighborhood.
Crystal still had her long black hair out with green highlights. Her fur was grey, and her tail was dark grey. She was wearing her gothic punk rock leather jacket with shoulder spikes, black tank top, black jeans, and white sneakers. Serena's hair and tail were blonde, while her fur was white. She wore her navy blue jacket, red t-shirt, blue jeans, and gothic combat boots.
Fuko and Serena hugged and kissed each other lovingly like couples do. They whispered to each other before turning to the boys. Of course, Melman was frightened by their appearance and hid behind Cody. They may not be as fearsome as Loona or Slade, but they are still scary-looking. The two Hellhounds saw the scared boy and glanced at each other.
"Melman, it's okay. These two are my friends. They're gonna help you," Cody assured.
Crystal and Serena bent down on their knees, giving Melman sincere looks.
"Hey there," Serena spoke with a gentle smile.
"Hello," Crystal greeted friendly.
Melman looked past Cody's shoulder.
"It's okay. We're not going to hurt you," Fuko said.
"My name is Serena, and this is Crystal," Serena introduced.
"Hi," Melman said nervously as he emerged from behind Cody.
"Loona told us you got a bit of a situation. That's okay. We're here to help you. We've helped people who've been bitten by werewolves," Crystal explained.
"You have?" Melman asked.
"Oh yes, many times. I got a few cousins who are werewolves, and they're okay living normal lives," Crystal answered.
Serena gently reached out and held Melman's hand. Melman looked into her kind eyes and gentle smile. Fuko gently rubbed Melman's head.
"We're going to be your caretakers. We'll take good care of you," Crystal said.
"We'll look out for you. Once we get to the Spirit Realm, we'll meet some people who can show you how to control your werewolf side. But for now, let's get you settled in. There's a spare bedroom inside, and tonight, we were thinking of getting pizza. Is that okay with you?" Serena spoke.
Melman glanced at Cody, and he gave a reassuring nod. Melman gently squeezed her hand and said, "Yeah, I like pizza. No toppings, please; just cheese is fine."
"Okay," Serena nodded.
They went inside, and the two Hellhounds gave Melman the grand tour and showed him his bedroom. Their place was nice, with white walls, bamboo flooring, neon lights, and posters of rock bands and horror movies. Crystal and Serena were really into anime and such. They were YouTuber reviewers who had their own channel talking about anime shows, movies, and video games – both old and new. So, there were also little figures of characters.
"It's not much, but it's enough to be home," Crystal said.
"Oh, that reminds me. Mel, I stopped by your house, and I grabbed your stuff. Your bed, clothes, furniture, video games, comics, and all your personal belongings are in my infinite cube. I don't know, but I also got your backpack. I figured if there was something important in it, then you'd be able to have it," Cody said.
"Actually, there is something important in my pack. My lucky keychains," Melman said.
"The wolf one and the eight ball?"
Melman nodded.
Cody pulled out Melman's backpack and gave it to him. Melman searched its pockets until he found them. Melman held them close as he sighed. Cody then pulled out most of Melman's stuff to put in his new bedroom. Since there was already a bed and furniture, he left that in his cube. After that, Cody gave him a new phone with all the contacts.
"If you need anything, give me a call," Cody said.
Melman nodded, looking away.
"Hey, look at me," Cody ordered.
Melman looked up at him.
"You're going to be okay. You got this. Just hang tough."
"I will," Melman said, "Cody . . . when do you think you'll find my parents?"
Cody sighed. Kim stepped forward and placed her hand on his shoulder, "We're not gonna lie to you, Mel. We don't know. We truly don't know."
Melman looked down with a sad look.
"Your parents are fighting a war in the shadows. That kind of war is complicated. It's like espionage, except they're fighting for or have support from any government. We hit the I.S.N.A. hard, but they're still out there and have numbers. We don't know where they are, but that doesn't mean that they're dead. Either way, it's too dangerous for you, me, and Mikey to live on the surface," Cody explained.
Melman nodded, "I understand."
"Just have faith, kid. Hang tough for your folks," Kim said.
"I will."
Cody hugged him before going through the portal with Kim and Fuko. Melman went back inside with Crystal and Serena. They ordered four pizzas and two-liter bottles of soda – Diet Coke and Diet Dr. Pepper. The sun had set, and night had fallen. Melman didn't say much. Even though he didn't feel hungry, he ate. The gravity of his situation weighed heavily on him.
"So . . . we go to this Spirit Realm, and we meet some people that'll teach me how to control my . . . my werewolf side?" Melman asked before sipping some soda.
"That's right. The Spirit Realm is a whole other world. There's a lot of strange beings and people in there," Crystal answered before chewing on some pizza.
"A long time ago, when Europeans were colonizing North America, many Native American Tribes fled to the Spirit Realm. These people are very spiritual. So, there are a lot of shamans, witches, wizards, warriors, and hunters there. The person we're meeting is Winona, The Witch Wolf Spirit," Serena explained.
Melman raised an eyebrow while glancing at the two Hellhounds, "Winona? The Witch Wolf Spirit?"
Crystal nodded, "Yeah. If anyone knows how to help you, it's her. She's helped other werewolves in the past. The Path of the Wolf involves a lot of physical tests and meditation to concentrate on your inner beast. Let's put it this way: you're taming yourself. One of the easiest ways to lose control is to get angry and lose your temper. The point of the path is mastering yourself."
"I see," Melman said, "What happens after that?"
Crystal and Serena glanced at each other.
"Well, it's too dangerous for you to return to the surface. So, we were considering enrolling you in the same school Cody's attending, Red Moon Junior High School," Serena said.
"Red Moon?"
"Yeah."
They talked more about the school, the town of Howler Haven, and life in Hell. It was a lot for Melman.
"I . . . I can't believe this is my life now," Melman spoke.
"Hey, sweetie," Serena went over and hugged him, "It'll be okay. We know it's a lot to take in but trust us. It'll be okay."
"Yeah, don't worry, kid. We got your back," Crystal said, joining in on the hug.
Melman's eyes watered as he looked up at her.
"We will never abandon you, Mel," Crystal stated very clearly.
The tears broke from his eyes as he hugged them back. The two Hellhounds held him motherly, stroking his hair and back while quietly shushing him as he sobbed softly. When it was time for bed, Melman had nightmares of being locked by the I.S.N.A., killing those innocent people, and, of course, Vlad Nicholson, The Red Werewolf. Melman still remembers him sinking his fangs into and getting the werewolf venom in his veins. He saw it all in his dreams. It was like a horror movie.
Then suddenly, Melman was jarred awake. He was panting and in a cold sweat. Crystal and Serena were standing over him.
"Wha? What happened?" Melman asked.
"You were having a nightmare. You were moaning," Crystal answered.
"You can hear me from your room? Was I that loud?" Melman asked.
"Not really. Hellhounds have highly developed senses. We can hear and smell better than humans," Serena said.
"Oh."
"Now, come on," Crystal said, picking Melman up, "You're sleeping with us. We'll keep those nightmares away. You'll love our fluffy tails. They're softer than pillows."
Melman blushed as she cradled him in her arms, "Okay. I'm not a baby! But I am allowing this only because I want to."
"Okay," Crystal said, rolling her eyes with a smile.
They got together in bed with Melman in the middle between them. Melman got comfortable in their arms and hugged Serena's tail. It didn't take him long to fall asleep.
Earlier that Day
Cody and Loona called Charlie and Vaggie. They explained everything to them, and the two agreed to meet Cody and Melman. Kim and Fuko had to go home. So, Cody said his goodbye to her as they kissed. Then he went through the portal to the Hazbin Hotel with Mikey and Loona. The sight of the hotel never ceases to amaze those who see it. It gave a feeling that was both welcoming and curious at the same time. A feeling like, 'Oh, what's in there?'
Mikey, however, was nervous and frightened. He hid close behind Cody. Charlie and Vaggie were standing outside of the hotel's front doors. Like Melman, Charlie and Vaggie were gentle and friendly in their introduction to Mikey. They went inside, and Mikey was in awe of the hotel. Charlie talked about the hotel and what they do here.
"So, you help bad souls become good so they can go to Heaven?" Mikey asked.
"That's right! And since Angel Dust and Hust reached atonement, we now know it is possible, so we've gotten more guests lately. Some of them may be rough around the edges, but we just need some time to get through to them," Charlie explained.
"It's all about turning them around to do an act of true selflessness," Vaggie said.
"Oh, I see. How many guests do you have?" Mikey asked.
"We have six! Isn't that great? We would have nine, counting Angel Dust and Husk, but they're not here right now. Want to see them?" Charlie asked.
"Uh, I don't know if that's a good idea," Cody said.
"It'll be fine, Cody. They won't hurt Mikey," Charlie said.
"Also, if Mikey's going to be staying here, then he'll have to get used to the people here, too," Vaggie said.
"Okay," Cody reluctantly agreed.
The guests were all in a big room by the fireplace. They were talking casually to each other but stopped when Charlie and Vaggie walked in. Cody and Mikey caught their eye.
"Everyone! We have a new guest at our hotel. This person is very special. He's not a sinner demon but someone seeking sanctuary. Everyone, this is Mikey. Michael Alexander," Charlie announced.
"Hi," Mikey waved sheepishly.
"This is Nifty, our hotel's housekeeper. This is Crymini, our hotel's security and these are our newest guests of the hotel, John, Eddy, Mimzy, and Sonja," Charlie introduced.
"Hello," Nifty said, walking up to him with a smile, "Aren't you a cute boy."
"Nifty," Vaggie said in a warning tone, "Behave."
John was a sinner demon that looked like something from a swamp horror movie. He had dark greenish-blue wavy hair, green eyes, and grey skin. His hands were black and webbed like duck feet. His torso was glowing blue and looked like water. He had black baggy pants, a white midriff shirt, and a necklace of a yellow half-yin-yang symbol.
Niffy looked like something from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland with her red dress, white apron, red hair, and her one scary eye and razor-sharp teeth. Crymini was a hyena demon with a punk rock appearance. Her white and red hair was tied in a ponytail with her bangs out. She was wearing her red dress with a skull on it and an open black shirt and had a spikey collar around her neck. Since she was security for the hotel, she had a sidearm holstered around her thigh, chest body armor, and a tactical pump action shotgun close by with a shotgun shell holder belt.
Mimzy looked almost entirely human with her pale skin and light blonde hair. The only thing that wasn't human was her eyes with the sclera black and the iris red. She was dressed like a showgirl singer from the 1920s and was a little plump.
Eddy was a blue wolf demon with blue fur and black hair. He was athletic, with a muscular build and a mean look on his face. His eyes were scary, with the sclera black and the iris yellow. He wore a light blue trench coat, a black t-shirt, and red pants. Sonja was a sinner demon who looked similar to Mrs. Mayberry but with red skin, eyes, and horns. Her hair was jet black, and she wore a black collared shirt, a red vest, black pants, grey cowgirl boots, and a white cowgirl hat with a black band.
Cody knew Nifty and Crymini, which is why he hugged them both. He didn't know Eddy and Sonja, but Cody was surprised to see John there.
"John? Is that you?" Cody asked.
"Cody?" John asked.
"Hey!" they greeted each other with a friendly hug.
"Wow, what are you doing here?" Cody asked.
"Well, after I.M.P. killed the counselor that killed me, I had nothing to do and nowhere to go. But then I saw this commercial about the hotel and heard rumors about it being a place for rehabilitation. So, I thought I'd try this," John answered.
Cody nodded, "Well, that's good."
"So, is it true that atonement and redemption are possible?" John asked.
"Yes, it is. The problem is Heaven is corrupt with bad angels, but my people and I are working with Jesus to solve it so that people can get to Heaven. So, keep working atonement, and you'll get there," Cody said.
"Hey, aren't you the Guardian of Hell? The Slayer of Overlords?" Eddy asked.
Cody glanced at everyone before answering, "Yes, I am."
"Wow, you're really cleaning up Hell, ain't ya?" Sonja grinned.
"I guess so."
Nifty gave a big creepy smile and looked at Cody, "I love BAD boys."
"Anyway," Charlie intervened, "Mikey will stay at the hotel until his parents are found. So, I want you all to be on your best behavior around him. Understand?"
They all nodded.
"Oh, please! We wouldn't hurt a hair on his cute little head," Mimzy said.
"Is it really a good idea for him to be here? In Hell?" John asked.
"The surface is too dangerous with the I.S.N.A. still at large," Cody said.
"But what's he going to do around here while he waits?" Eddy asked.
"Yeah, it's gonna get pretty damn boring here pretty damn fast for him," Sonja agreed.
"If I may inquire," Alastor said.
His sudden appearance made everyone jump, especially Mikey. He shivered at the sight of Alastor as he hid behind Vaggie and Charlie.
"If this young man is going to be staying here for a while, he shouldn't miss out on school. So, how about home-schooling him here at the hotel? Also, Charlie, educating a child counts as helping someone, which is a redeemable quality," Alastor suggested.
Charlie's eyes lit up, "Oh! That's right! That would be a good opportunity for them to do something good and selfless!"
Vaggie shrugged, "Any volunteers?"
Nifty raised her hand, "I can teach him how to kill bugs with a knife!"
"Uh, no," Vaggie said.
"Also, we don't want anyone to take your job, Nifty," Charlie said.
"Oh no. Mine!" Nifty said.
After about ten seconds of silence, John was next to raise his hand.
"I'll help tutor him if he's okay with my appearance. I may look like something from the black swamp, but that doesn't mean I'm a monster," John said.
"Do you have any experience with children?" Loona asked.
"I was a counselor for a summer camp; before that, I was a teacher's assistant for my high school for reading & writing. I've worked with kids before. I got a ton of experience," John assured.
"Any other volunteers?" Vaggie asked.
"Oh, what the heck? I'll take a swing at it," Mimzy said.
"And do you have any experience?" Cody asked.
"Not really, but it would be surprising that I'm pretty good when it comes to math. When you're working as a showgirl, you want to make sure they're paying you in full. I've had a lot of cheapskates in my time in Chicago," Mimzy explained.
"Anyone else? We got math and reading & writing. Anyone want to do history and science?" Vaggie asked.
"Alright, alright. I'll home-school the kid for history," Eddy said.
"You worked with kids?" Sonja questioned.
"No, but how hard can it be? It's not rocket science," Eddy replied.
"Okay, then we'll need a room to do the teaching and we'll need school supplies. Paper, pencils, folders, binders, a whiteboard, and markers," Charlie listed.
"We'll also need all the stuff for assignments and tests for people doing homeschooling," Vaggie added.
"All that will come, but there's no need to rush. For now, I suggest you let Mikey get settled in. Give him time to get used to the place and its people," Loona said.
"Do I have to stay here?" Mikey asked nervously.
Cody turned to Mikey and held him by his shoulders.
"Listen to me, Mikey. These are good demons. They won't hurt you. I know you want to go home back up on the surface, but it's too dangerous with the I.S.N.A. out here. Right now, this is the safest place for you. Charlie and Vaggie will take good care of you. I promise. I trust them," Cody stated.
"For how long? When can I live with my mom and dad?" Mikey asked with watery eyes.
Cody sighed, "I don't know. I truly don't know. Your parents are fighting a complicated war. Spies fighting spies."
"War in the shadows," Eddy said.
"Exactly," Cody said.
"Hey, it'll be okay, Mikey," Charlie said with a gentle smile.
"You just have to be strong for them," Vaggie added.
Mikey wiped his tears and nodded, "Okay."
"Good. Now, let's show you to your room," Charlie said.
"One more thing," Alastor said, stopping them, "Young Michael, while you're here at the hotel and being well cared for, you must be on your best behavior as well. That means we expect you not to cause any trouble."
"Oh, I-I won't, sir. I'll behave," Mikey said.
"Good. Keep that nose clean, young man, or we shall clean it for you. Now off to your room, pip-pip," Alastor said with a smile.
As they walked upstairs, Mikey asked, "He's scary."
"Yes, he is, but he won't hurt. Just remember your manners around him. That means, yes sir, no sir, yes ma'am, no ma'am, please and thank you, standing and sitting up straight, all that good jazz," Cody said.
"Why does his voice sound like an old radio from the early 1930s?" Mikey asked.
"He's the Radio Demon. He's from that era. I wouldn't ask too many questions about him. He's okay once you get to know him, and he's a gentleman. But listen, you are under my wing of protection, so anyone who hurts you or mistreats you will answer to the Princess of Hell," Charlie said confidently.
Mikey's eyes widened, "You're a princess?! Like a real one?"
With a confident smile, Charlie puffed up her chest, "I am indeed."
"Wow."
Mikey's room was across the hall from Charlie and Vaggie's room. It was big and space-ish. Cody unloaded all of Mikey's stuff in the room, including his bed. Cody gave him a new phone before heading out. Cody and Loona went home with Blitzo. Cody collapsed on the couch and groaned a sigh. Loona collapsed next to him, scoffing a sigh while rubbing her forehead. Blitzo came by and gave them both glass-bottled Sprites.
"I'm worried for them. Is that normal?" Cody asked after taking a sip.
"They're your best friends, Cody. Of course, it's normal," Loona answered.
"But they're in good hands. Anything goes wrong, we'll handle it," Blitzo said.
"You're right. God, I'm tired," Cody said.
Meanwhile
Rachel sat in the Grimms bunker watching Cody and Loona's concerts on her phone while listening to their music. She loved every song. They both had such great voices and played guitar & bass like pros. She looked closely at their images of them on stage and read the latest articles about Hell's Civil War. Rachel gazed at the latest photos of Cody; he looked like he was 14 or 15.
Rachel slowly shook her head, "Fuck this. I gotta see them."
Rachel met up with a demon who had an Asmodian Crystal.
"I will kill whoever you want me to kill or pay you whatever you want, but I need to go to Hell now," Rachel whispered.
"Actually, I'll let you go there if you deliver this letter to a friend of mine. His name is Cliff. I can't go because they'll recognize my face. The address is on the letter. It's in the Pride Ring," the demon said.
"Deal."
"Thanks a bunch. Cheers."
He gave her the letter and used the crystal to open a portal for Rachel to go through. Once on the other side, Rachel took a moment to gaze at it all. It's been so long since she's been in Hell.
"Not much different Newark or L.A.," Rachel said, looking around.
Rachel used her infinite cube to pull out one of her cars, a red 1977 Lamborghini Countach LP400. It was a beast and a fast one, too. Rachel delivered the letter as promised. She picked a bouquet of flowers, but she grew more nervous on her way to Loona and Cody's place in Nightmare City. She hadn't seen her flesh and blood in years, thinking all this time she was dead. Now, here she is, driving on a highway on her way to see her. Rachel watched the streetlights zip past her as she drove on the empty highway – a few seconds in the light, then in darkness.
"Oh fuck me. What the Hell am I going to say to her?! To her son?!" Rachel asked herself.
Rachel sighed and rubbed her head.
"Don't overthink it. Just get in there and do it," Rachel told herself.
