Walking to Blitzo's and Loona's apartment with Moxxie and Millie, Lincoln and Clyde were getting worried about Loona. She didn't come to visit Blitzo in the hospital today and Lincoln wanted to know why the reason she didn't do so. Tex was with the group since he is a good friend of Loona too, and one of the very first ones she made. Perhaps Tex can provide more comfort to Loona and help her out with some emotional distress she is dealing with right now.
"Loona?' Lincoln called out int he apartment. "You in here?"
They searched in her room and found her in her pajama shirt with the word "NO" engraved on it in the front, softly sobbing on her bed with many used tissues scattered around her bedroom. She moved her eyes to her concerned friends (and coworkers) and gave an unamused look at them. "Go away." she said. "I'm too busy wallowing in my own shit right now." she turned over to face the wall right next to her bed. Loona had her back to them as she was curled up in a fetal form, and blew her nose once again.
"Are you ok, Loona?" Lincoln said as he walked to her.
"I'm fine, now leave me alone." the female hellhound gave a rude response. "It's only a matter of time before i go back to that shitty pound that i had to grow up in. Blitzo is gonna come back and put me back in the place. Fuck!"
"What? Blitzo would never do that." said Moxxie
"Oh what the fuck do you know, Fatty?" Loona sat up on her bed with a scowl. "You're not a Hellhound. I'm screwed for life!"
"Loona, calm down." said Tex.
"Calm down?!" Loona sounded defensive. "I would rather die before going back to that shithole."
"Loona, Loona," Lincoln tried to comfort her. "Look, me I might not have known Blitzo as long as you have, but i think i've known him long enough to know that he would never send you back to the pound."
"I agree with Lincoln, Loo." Tex said.
Loona was silent, but she finally said after wiping her nose, "I understand why you two are here, but why are you two here in the first place?"
"Look, Loona," Moxxie sighed, "i know you hat me and call me fat all the time - which I am not fat! but you're still our coworker, and... we always stick together."
"Yeah, just because we have a rivalry doesn't mean we have to completely hate each other." Millie pointed. "We're both worried about you."
"I apologized to Blitzo, but he didn't take it." the female hellhound let more tears escape from her red eyes. "Am i really that terrible?" and she blew into another tissue. "He's right. I'm not a people person after all. Just leave me alone. All of you. Don't act like you all care about me. Who can possibly give a flying fuck about me?"
"Don't talk like that," said Clyde. "We do care about you."
"Then why didn't anybody in the pound care about me?" Loona finally broke down in tears. "You don't know the kind of literal Hell I have been through!"
"Look, Blitzo would never send you back there to the pound." Lincoln continued trying to console her. "If he didn't love or care about you, he would have just left you in that horrible place to begin with.
and she cried into her pillow. The people she knew began to feel very sorry for the female hellhound. It was clear that she really wanted to be left alone. "Come on, guys." Lincoln sighed sadly. "Let's just go."
Looking sad, they all went out her bedroom door anyway. Lincoln himself was the last one to leave the bedroom, and he was suddenly stopped by the female hellhound, who sat up on her mattress. "Wait," she sniveled. "Don't go. I'm sorry."
Deep down, Lincoln knew that his hellhound friend was going to say that, or something similar. He halted, and so did the rest.
"Loona, it's ok." Said Lincoln.
"But when he gets back from the hospital, how am I going to face Blitzo? What can I say to him?"
"We know you're not good at apologizing, hun." Said Millie. "But maybe some distancing can help."
"Yeah, just give him some space and let him think." Moxxie added. "I don't... really know how long it will take, but just try to be nice to Blitzo. Just for once."
The female hellhound was silent, and looked down once more. "Can we... watch a movie?"
"Ooh, good idea, girl." Said Tex. "Whatcha wanna watch?"
"I don't care." She got out of her bed at last, and sniffed one of her armpits, making a face of disgust. "But I do need a shower."
At his home, Lincoln was glad Loona is slowly getting back on her feet. The movie he watched with her and his demon friends was delightful. Nothing can beat the original "Predator" movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Wanting to get more of peaceful sleep, Lincoln pulled out the special sleeping pod that Verosika gave him to help relief trauma with the Blood Beetle affair.
Getting inside the pod after placing it on his bed, he felt the thing close and the misty atmosphere shroud around him like the warmest kind of blanket. It was like the first time he tried this little invention, and he immediately went to sleep in a snap.
Before he knew it, Lincoln was dreaming of being a space cowboy driving a rocket ship, enjoying some space adventures and escapades. This pod was truly a work of art for the boy.
these dreams he was having were so serene and amazing that it felt like time was moving very fast for him.
When the morning came and it was time for him to wake up, he heard the alarm on his phone go off and awoken from his slumber, and the hatch to his pod opened up as soon as his eyes opened.
He wished he had got this a long time ago. For this was the most comfortable kind of thing he had gotten. It was a regular school day today, and he did his morning routine to get ready for school.
it was a regular, normal day in his school, and during lunch, he got a text from Loona, saying that she wanted to talk to him after school. Smiling, the boy happily replied that he would be obliged to see her when he gets home.
The afternoon came and the last bell rung. Walking home with Clyde next to him, his best friend said: "Have you heard from Loona?"
"Yeah she said that she wants to talk to me when I get back home. Hope she is feeling better."
"You and me both, buddy."
When they finally made it to the house, there was Loona on the couch, in her normal hellhound form, texting on her phone (a she would normally do), and having her usual blank look on her cute wolf-like face. "Ah, there you dweebs are." she said as she looked at them. "About time you got here."
"So what did you want to talk about, Loona?" asked Lincoln
"Well, there's two things," the female hellhound stated. "Clyde," she looked at Lincoln's African-American friend, "Octavia wants to talk to you."
"She does? I didn't break her heart again, did i?"
"No, no, she just wants to talk to you. I got the book for you to go see her." she opened the portal to Octavia's room where the Goetia princess waved warmly at her close human friend, just waiting for him. "Here you go, dude."
"Thanks Loona." Clyde smiled before stepping through the portal. It immediately closed as Clyde went through it, and Lincoln was alone with Loona.
"So what did Octavia want with Clyde?"
"Said she wanted to show Clyde the dance that he missed when her grandmother had a stroke"
"Well... technically, it was an aneurysm." said Lincoln. "But i see where she's getting at. So... what did you want to talk about?"
The female hellhound was silent for a brief moment, and she finally replied: "We'll talk in your bedroom, ok?" The human boy looked a little confused, but he went along with Loona's request anyway. As soon as Lincoln closed the bedroom door, Loona sat on his bed. "Now we can talk." she said. "Listen," she took a little breath in herself. "Lincoln, i just wanted to say that, you really are one of the greatest things that ever happen to me." she gave him a cute smile. "I know i haven't said that before, and... yeah, i am terrible with this kind of talk, i admit it. Shitty with expressing myself."
"You're doing good." Lincoln smiled.
letting out an annoyed sigh, Loona said: "Thanks. But anyway, you're a really good friend to me. As much as Tex and Octavia, you are... one of the coolest people i've known in my life."
"Even though i read comic books and play video games?"
"Ah, sure you're a dork, but... you're a cool kind of dork." Loona pointed. "So, i wanted to ask... if anything bad were to happen, will you be there to help me?'
"Of course. What are friends for?"
"Good." the hellhound smiled. "And about Blitzo, how am i going to face him after unintentionally getting him in that fucking hospital?"
"Just tell him that you're sorry in the most sincere way. And if he doesn't accept it, just give him some space."
"And... you don't think he'll send me back to the pound, right?"
"No! Don't be ridiculous. He'll never send you back there. I know it."
"Even if he said-"
"Blitzo was just mad, Loona. Don't worry about it."
"You... you really are a good friend, Lincoln. And i'll help you if you ever need it."
"Thank you, Loona." then Lincoln felt something unexpected happen to him. This time, Loona hugged him instead of the other way around. Her body felt so warm, and she even wrapped her long, fluffy tail around Lincoln like a small blanket to show how much she cares about him. Lincoln hugged her back in response, and there was no fuss from her this time. They hugged for at least five minutes and they finally let go.
"But if you tell anyone about this, then i'll deny it. Got it?" she smirked
"My lips are sealed, Loona. And if there's any problem with you and Blitzo again, then let me know. But i'm sure everything will be fine. And hey, at least you have other friends."
"True." she let out a few small coughs.
"But are you feeling ok? You know, after finding you in your room, yesterday?"
"I'm... mostly fine." Loona sighed again. "But don't worry about me."
Lincoln looked a little guilty before saying: "Felt like i should have stayed out of this. This shouldn't be any of my business. Things between you and Blitzo are not really my concern."
"No, i said it in front of you and Clyde, Lincoln. Don't be too hard on yourself."
"Yeah. You're right. I'm sure you and Blitzo will work something out. In the meantime, why not think of a present to buy for him when he gets back."
"I don't know what to give him, but ok."
Meanwhile at the Goetia chateau
Octavia was back into her unitard she wore at the recital that Clyde missed. "Since you did not get to see my performance last time, I'll show you it."
"OK, Octavia." Said Clyde, who was sitting on her bed.
The Goetia princess was giving him her elegant performance and the human boy was dazzled by how elegant and magnificent she was under the spotlight he was imagining.
Seeing how happy and excited he was in his eyes, Octavia was happy to give this private performance to her friend.
Unlike her actual recital, she was dancing more lively than she did on the actual night of the performance. She danced and danced so much that some drops of sweat were forming on her body, already starting to drip like a melting popsicle.
It went on for about thirty minutes and Octavia was feeling out of breath. But it was all worth it to make up for what Clyde missed that very day.
In fact, Clyde was clapping with sincere cheering and smiled as she was finished. "That was amazing, Octavia!"
"Thank you." Via smiled gratefully. "And... I'm really sorry about accidentally killing you like that." She looked guilty again.
"Don't say that. We all know it's your mom's fault. Lord Lucifer even said that he is going to keep an extra eye on her form now on."
"Right. Even my evil mother is afraid of Lucifer's wrath." Then she hugged him by surprise. "And... we're still friends, aren't we, Clyde?"
"Of course we're still friends, Octavia." Clyde replied. "Nothing will ever change that."
Via smiled as she heard those words. "Thanks, Clyde. You really are a good friend. Why can't all friends be as sincere as you?"
"Good question. Ah, but how I died was all in the past. Besides, it wasn't a total loss. I got to see my mom after all these years."
"That's good." She smirked. "At least the curse was not painful." They both had a laugh afterwards.
"Yeah, it was very peaceful when I died. My spirit-"
"You don't have to describe any further, sweetie."
