The Most Playful Demon
(Through the halls of Babyls)
It was the next day and the appointed time for students to gather the necessary books for their coming semester and required classes. As for the Aether Dragon eggs, to hatch they need an incredible amount of mana consistently over a long period of time. However, the amount necessary is still too much for twins to supply and they can't take the eggs with them everywhere they go. Thankfully their father Delkira had a perfect spell to keep the eggs safe and in stable condition while the twins were away, Autokeep, which kept anything in pristine condition. The only other thing this magic was used on was his old classroom at Babyls, Royal One.
"Let's see; history, pharmaceuticals, torture, magic theory courses, nothing we didn't go over already with professors Kalego and Balam." Iruma said as he, his sister, Asmodeus, and Sabro walked toward the school store to pick up the necessary work and textbooks for their future classes.
"Maybe, but it's important to review everything and stay on top of our studies." Irumi countered as they neared the door, just in time to watch it blow open suddenly with someone shouting out 'rolling'. Sabro immediately moved in front of the twins with a gold kite shield and steel greatsword ready while Asmodeus readied some fire magic. While they did that, Iruma and Irumi watched a green ball roll into a big pile of boxes, causing the entire thing to collapse. "What?" The twins asked as the ball burst out of the pile as a girl wearing the female school uniform with two yellow pouches on her skirt and two green lizard esque slippers. She had long lime green hair, curled ram horns, lime green eyes, red heart tail, and a mouth full of pointy teeth.
"Strike!" She shouted in excitement before laughing giddily. The twins blinked in surprise and confusion while Alice looked scared and Sabro seemed resigned.
"Asmodeus, take their majesties and go. I'll hold her off." The royal shield decreed as Asmodeus watched his dear friend prepare to sacrifice himself to the insanity.
"Sabro... I'll never forget you dear ally!" Alice cried as he reached out to his lord and lady. "Masters, we must- NO!"
"Hey, you okay?" Irumi asked while Iruma reached out to help the demoness up. She in turn looked up at them with stars in her eyes.
"I'm Clara!" She immediately and excitedly greeted while hovering in the air. "My right foot is Conner, my left foot is Murph!" She stopped when Irumi started to pat her on the head.
"Nice to meet you Clara." The princess said with a smile while the excitable demon girl started purring like a hell kitten.
"Pleasure to meet you as well, Conner and Murph." Iruma added, grabbing onto Clara's ankles and shaking them like hands while looking the slippers in the eyes.
"Are... are they somehow taming Clara Valac Sabro?" Asmodeus asked in shock, not noticing Sabro was no longer by his side but was with their highnesses and playing with Clara. 'AH! I shame myself by not joining them!' Alice cried to himself as he joined the group, Sabro using his tail like a cat toy while Clara tried to catch it.
"So what were you doing Clara?" Iruma asked, reassembling the pile of boxes Clara knocked over.
"I was playing." She answered, still enjoying the petting from Irumi while trying to catch Sabro's tail. "Seeing a big pile of stuff just makes me wanna go kaboom, so I did." All the while, Alice watched in amazement.
'Clara Valac, famous for being a nuisance to everyone with her eccentric hyperactive and clingy nature.' Asmodeus thought as a teacher came by and watched the scene before him. 'Yet, my lord and lady have so easily tamed her with just a simple act of patting her on the head? Truly, the Netherworld is in good hands my masters. I'm sorry for even doubting you.'
"You lot are Iruma, Irumi, Asmodeus, and Sabnock, correct?" It was professor Dali, a rather plain looking demon with a simple brown haircut and unimpressive white curved horns. "You guys can handle this." He said with a smile before waving his finger with a ball of light appearing on it as the group of five started floating and were wrapped up in rope before flying away. "Oh! And here are your books!" He added before sending them five packages of books.
(Babyls Courtyard)
"So, what now?" Iruma asked as the group were deposited outside of the building to one of the open courtyards, Clara now in the prince's lap and getting her belly rubbed. When Iruma asked this, Clara perked right up and jumped to her feet with a hand raised high.
"Let's play!" She happily cheered, patting the yellow pouches and getting them to emit a pale light. Soon after that she started pulling out random objects and naming the various games they could play with them. "Let's play house!"
"Alright." Irumi agreed. "Uma, I'll be the wife while you'll be my husband and... Clara? How about being the floozy he cheats on me with?" She suggested, Alice looking slightly betrayed and confused.
"Alright," Iruma agreed as well, "but I'm cheating on both of you with my boyfriend Asmodeus." Alice now sported a blush and his head looked like it was about to burst into flames.
"So what am I in this?" Sabro asked, just going along with everything since logic seems to have disappeared.
"My guard dog. Defend me!" Iruma shouted as Clara was now swinging a big ax at the prince. Sabro immediately summoned a shield to tank the ax swing and throw Clara off. "Good doggy!"
"Arf!" And like that, insanity ran supreme as they played various games and pushing their physical and mental limits until Alice and Sabro laid exhausted on the ground hours later. Iruma, Irumi, and Clara still stood tall, though the royal twins looked a little winded.
"You guys want some snacks now?" Clara asked, patting her pouches and pulling out various drinks and snack foods.
"Thanks Clara." Iruma said, gratefully taking the drink and draining the bottles contents within seconds. "The Valac bloodline magic sure is incredible." This surprised everyone but Irumi, but Clara was especially shocked.
"You know my bloodline magic?"
"Summon: the ability to recreate anything you've seen before." Irumi answered, drinking her own juice. "You can consider it the ultimate in support ability." Clara kept her bright smile but Iruma and Irumi could see the hurt in her eyes. Before anything else, the princess wrapped the hyper demon into her arms and started cuddling her. "And this has been the most fun I've had in a long while. So what do you wanna play next?" Clara started to brighten up again when they heard someone call out.
"Hey, Clarin!" Clara perked up at the call and rushed over to group of three demons, led by a guy with pale blonde hair and white curved horns Clara called 'Yocchin.' "Did you get some more owners?" He asked while patting Clara like a dog. As they continued to interact, the three asking Clara for stuff, Iruma and Irumi watched and glared at the group.
"Asmodeus. Sabnock." Iruma calmly said, making the two immediately stand up and get ready for whatever orders their masters may give them.
"Hunt them, find out how to really hurt them, and make our displeasure known." Irumi ordered, unusually cold for the normally gentle princess.
"By your command." The two responded, plans already formulating in their minds about how to torment the three.
"Good. CLARA! Let's play again tomorrow!" The twins called out as the sun started setting.
"Kay!" Clara returned as they went their separate ways, leaving with a skip in her step and humming to distract herself from the silent emptiness she's always fighting.
(Timeskip: A few days later)
Clara continued to enjoy her playtime with the group, mostly the twins while Asmodeus and Sabnock sometimes left early for one reason or another. One day she overheard Yocchin and his gang talk about how the honor students would eventually get bored of her as well and that she was only good for her bloodline magic, causing her to rush to find Iruma and Irumi to try and make sure they didn't leave her. Had she stayed for just a few seconds longer, she would've heard Sabro and Alice ask the group for a moment of their time. She would eventually find the twins waiting for her in the usual courtyard, waiting for her.
"Crash!" She cheered, jumping onto them. "Strike!" She laughed before patting her pouches and pulling out a lot of snacks. "Here, have some-" She didn't even finish before Iruma slapped all of the food and drinks out of her hands.
"No." He told her, stunning her as her heart began to race in fear at being abandoned.
"Y-you didn't like-"
"Clara. Look at us." Irumi order, forcing Clara to look at the princess as she leaned in close. "No. We don't like bribes. No more summoning snacks... though do keep summoning drinks. Especially after a long and active day of playing"
"Yeah, gotta stay hydrated after all." Iruma stated while Clara looked down, holding back her tears as she was about to summon the beverages. "But first," the prince stopped her by catching her wrist and pulling her into a hug, "what do you want to play first Clara?" He asked with a smile.
"Huh?" Clara returned, surprised at the sudden question.
"We don't like bribes Clara, but we do like you." Irumi answered, cupping the girl's face and looking her in the eyes with a gentle smile. "We've never had such an active playmate, or had so much fun playing with someone. So please, keep playing with us Clara?" Tears started pouring out of her eyes as she rolled out of Iruma's grasp, rolling around like a ball and screaming in joy.
"This is the first time! The first time! The first time someone asked me to be their friend!" She shouted out while knocking over a few trees. "What should I do Irumachi? Irumichi? What should I do?!" She asked while the royal twins giggled at her enthusiasm. They proceeded to enjoy a game of tag and were unable to hear the slapping of leather on flesh and screams of agony.
(The Next Day)
"It is done my lords." Asmodeus told Iruma and Irumi as they, Sabro, and Clara threw paint slime balls at each other. The shield kept Clara occupied while Alice made his report to the twins. "We 'convinced' them and anyone else to never try to abuse Clara's magic again."
"Excellent. Now, let's just enjoy ourselves." Iruma said as he tossed one at Sabro's head. "First to give up has to get the drinks!" He declared as the festivities began in full... until they painted a huge wall of Babyls. Something they started to clean up until Sabro started painting an effigy of Delkira, which everyone else eventually helped make. The end result was so nice that the faculty just decided to keep it there. The next day Delkira himself came by and used his magic Autokeep on it, though not before making a small addition of two black and azure dragons by his sides.
A/N: Yeah, this one was pretty short compared to other chapters. But, after befriending Clara... there wouldn't be much change at all. The entire 'friends' chapter is rendered moot considering the current setting and character relationships. Basically, the next chapter will be the first day of classes and the Flying Test.
