A/N: This is the whole of the Flying Test and subsequent ranking. But only the interesting stuff since otherwise it wouldn't change much.

Flying and Ranks

(Babyls Teacher's Meeting Hall)

"I trust there are no objections." Sullivan said to the assembled teachers as they assigned students to their classes. "Iruma, Irumi, Valac, Asmodeus, and Sabnock will all be joining the Misfit Class for the problem children. The best option considering all the trouble they caused." It was a couple days after the twins solidified their friendship with Clara and the final arrangements were being made to truly start the semester. The only thing left was assigning the teachers to their classes. "Let's get this one out of the way first. Who will take on the Misfit-"

"I shall." Kalego interrupted, shocking the majority of the teachers except for Sullivan and Balam. "I shall take the responsibility of being the Misfit class's teacher." It was thought that no teacher wanted to take on the Misfit Class willingly, all the most dangerous and troublesome students of the generation gathered into one group was a recipe for ultimate chaos. That Naberius Kalego was willing to take that burden made his fellow teachers think... very poorly as it seemed like an idiotic decision when he could easily be teaching the ultimate elite students of the generation instead of the most troublesome.

"Professor Kalego, don't you think you should reconsider?" Momonoki Morax, the teacher of Magic Foundation, suggested. "Why are you willing to be responsible for them anyway? You've made it clear that you hate troublemakers more than anything."

"That's precisely why I should be their teacher." Kalego returned, unphased and smirking. "I can promise that they'll go from undisciplined brats and troublemakers to proper and truly impressive demons. Or is anyone else willing to take on this challenge?" The demon challenged, causing a few to glare at him at the insinuation of their teaching skills but none willing to take the bait.

"Very well. Naberius Kalego is hereby entrusted with being the homeroom teacher of the Misfit Class." Sullivan announced as the meeting went forward. "May the aether have mercy on him. Now, next is-"

(First day of official classes)

The twins were ecstatic that morning, hearing from grandpa Sullivan that Kalego was their teacher and they had the Misfit Class with Alice, Sabro, and Clara. They were so excited to properly resume their studies under one of their two favorite teachers that they almost forgot to get their father to reapply 'Autokeep' on the their eggs before flying away at top speeds back to Babyls. They were especially glad to start their true mission at Babyls, conquering the school. That excitement didn't shrink as they followed a glowing arrow to their classroom... until they reached the room proper.

"A ton of graffiti, massive pile of garbage, damp and cold underground." Irumi listed off as they climbed down the stairs of a cave and cavern system near the first years' tower, where the freshmen class of Babyls gather. The blueish stone of the underground lit mainly by the gaping holes leading outside and shining horned skulls, the stench of decay and rot clouding a stop in the staircase, all leading to a single decrepit looking door at nearly the bottom of the stairs.

"Just remember our main goal Umi." Iruma told his twin with an expectant smile. "Overcoming the trial makes the prize at the end all the better." The prince then reached out to grab the door handle before Sabro caught his hand, a serious and analytical look on his face as he gazed at the door. Trusting in their shield Iruma stepped back as Sabnock took point, biting onto the gold pendant on his necklace before throwing the door open. He immediately saw the dozens of weapons being fired on him and summoned a wide golden tower shield, causing all of the attacks to bounce away harmlessly. When the thuds and clangs ended, he dispelled the shield and glared at the applauding nine demons, two girls and seven boys.

The room itself was a mess, aged graffiti on the cracked walls, the floor mats in tatters from wear and erosion, the desks and seats were likewise cracked and chipped while the windows had giant holes in the glass. Everything about the room said that only refuse and the forgotten belonged in there, far away from everything and everyone else. Truly, this was going to be a trying time for the twins.

"Good job, but kind of bland." One of the boys, one with blonde hair with a black jagged ring around his crown, segmented arrow shaped horns said. He seemed to keep his eyes shut and wore the men's uniform while having the jacket open and showing off sandy brown colored T-shirt, brass pendant earrings, and appeared to be sitting while balancing on his tail.

"But still, he remains unharmed. Get your winnings people!" One of the taller boys said, having spiky black hair and red eyes. He wore the uniform with a black shirt and rolled up sleeves with the red dot earrings on his pointed ears.

"Did you seriously bet on whether your fellow classmate would be injured by this trap!?" Alice roared, furious that anyone would try to harm his lord and lady. Sabro seemed to shared this sentiment as he was growling while bringing his steel pendant to his mouth.

"It's just a little fun~." The same demon answered, an answer that was less than pleasing for Asmodeus and Sabro who were preparing to tear him apart.

"Okay, RESET!" The twins shouted, surprising the class. "If you want a show, you got one~!" Sabro and Alice sighed in annoyance that his masters decided to jump head first into the trap the shield just protected them from before grinning in excitement at the coming display of their greatness. The twin left the room while the other misfits set up the trap again and waited. The doors burst open and the twins literally danced through the barrage of weapons with ease. The rest of the class was shocked but Clara was cheering while Alice and Sabro just nodded as it went exactly how they expected it to. "There you go." They said with a smirk before getting their heads whacked by a roll of papers.

"Too much wasted movement." Kalego scolded as he entered the classroom while summoning a book. "Now silence and sit down. We're doing roll call." He announced, making everyone go to their chosen seats. The royal twins sat in the back, closest to the door with Clara sitting next to them. A place she won playing a quick round of demon rock-paper-scissors with Alice and Sabro, forcing the spear and shield to sit in front of their masters. "Now, Agares Picero."

"Here." Yawned a small demon with messy brown hair that looked like a night cap that was wearing a green sleep mask with dopey looking eyes that was slumped over a cloud with a similar expression.

"Asmodeus Alice."

"Here sir." Alice responded.

"Allocer Schneider."

"I'm a learning machine." A demon with a cartoonish lion face answered.

"Andro M. Jazz."

"Yo." The demon that handled the winnings answered.

"Elizabetta Ix."

"Here~." A tall girl answered, wearing a gentle expression with long blonde hair tied in a ponytail with a pink bow that still reached down to her hips with long curved horns reaching out from her head. Her version of the school uniform was best described as scandalous, a cropped blouse with puffed up sleeves with pink stitching and a pink and purple camisole over that and left her stomach exposed and she had a frilly skirt that stopped at mid-thigh with two underwear straps clearly visible on her waist.

"Clara Valac."

"Here I am Eggy Teach!" Clara called out.

"That nickname dies right now." Kalego returned. "Caim Kamui." No response. "Caim Kamui! Are you here!?" The teacher called out more forcefully.

"H-Here!" A short owl looking demon answered. He was just that, an owl like demon with tan brown fluffy feathers and two short horns on his head, though his ears were more catlike. He was also gazing at Elizabetta intensely and was shaking with controlled desire, though it seemed like a losing battle. His uniform was just the jacket and the red eye pendent.

"Garp Goemon."

"Uh-huh. You're looking at him." A tall boy that was wearing a much longer jacket that reached his knees and had a belt for a Japanese katana sword. His face was completely covered in featureless silver hair with two slits for his eyes. His skin was the same color as his hair, giving the idea that he may be covered in fur.

"Kerori Crocell."

"Here." Said a quiet girl with chin length icy silver hair, two short horns, and big round detection warding glasses.

"Shax Lied."

"Yeah, okay. Here here." The blonde boy from earlier said while playing on a hand held game. A game that was quickly snatched away by a small, three headed, yellow dog. "Hey!"

"Silence!" Kalego growled as the beast brought him the game before disappearing. "Count yourself lucky I don't smash it. Sabnock Sabro."

"I'm here!" Sabro announced proudly.

"Purson Soi." Silence. Kalego looked to the lone demon with a face that seemed expressionless but still held longing with a bowl cut for his lavender hair, with two small black horns and small black wings on his back. The teacher sighed before turning his attention on the twins. "I have my work cut off for me this time. Iruma."

"I'm here sir!" The prince quickly answered.

"Irumi is here as well!" The princess added.

"Guess we'll skip that then. Now everyone, outside. Today we'll be determining your ranks with the Flying Race test." Kalego announced, leading the class outside and eventually to a fenced floating island in the middle of a valley filled with stone spires. "This race and the Familiar Summoning Exam will be used to determine your ranks. The goal is to reach the flag on the peak at the opposite end of this valley, the first student there will get a major boost in their score. Normally there are two routes: Warbling Valley and Cutthroat Valley." Hearing that surprised the twins. "However, the guardian of Cutthroat Valley has been moody lately, so Warbling Valley is the only option. It's not too dangerous, but don't drop your guard." The gates that were the starting line opened as the majority of the students got ready to fly. "The Flying Race will now commence. Ready?" Wings were unfurled. "GO!" He shouted as twelve of the fourteen student blasted off into the valley, leaving Kalego and the twins. "Is something the matter you two?"

"Yeah. What's wrong with Fluffy?" Irumi demanded, confusing the teacher with the name.

"Fluffy?"

"The Guardian of Cutthroat Valley." Iruma answered, leading to a minute of silence.

"Fluffy. The Guardian of Cutthroat Valley, a powerful magical beast that intimidates a majority of the faculty, and you named it 'Fluffy'." Kalego said, trying to process the conversation,

"Fluffy is fluffy." Irumi answered with a pout.

"Very fluffy." Iruma added with his own pout.

"The fluffiest!" They finished, maintaining that pout.

"Why do I bother?" Kalego asked, dragging a hand down his face. "Anyway, we don't know what's wrong with... Fluffy." He said, still finding it hard to call such a dangerous beast something so cute. "The guardian refused to let- NO!" He yelled out the moment he realized what the twins were planning on doing, finding that they were already at the platform's edge. "Don't you do it!" They edged closer. "I will tell Opera what you did!"

"Opera loves fluffy things." Iruma countered as they edged closer.

"I'll assign extra homework!"

"You know we're super diligent." Irumi said as they were barely standing on the edge, the majority of their beings hanging by half of their feet.

"I'll make sure you get grounded!"

"TO FLUFFY!" The twins cheered before falling back and kicking off the floating island, flying at supersonic speeds into the distance.

"PRINCE! PRINCESS!" The professor yelled out but to no avail, causing him to groan in frustration. "Those two are going to be the death of me." He said before teleporting to the end of the race, to another island that was identical to the one he was just on, but with a tall red pennant flag in the center. "But they can likely pull it off." He admitted while summoning a large monitor screen with a seat, a flying eye creature delivering him Hell Grey tea. "Nothing to do now but watch and wait."

(With Alice and Sabro)

"Do you see them?" Alice asked, scanning ahead while Sabro kept watch from behind.

"Unfortunately no." The shield answered, still scanning. "They could have passed us and reached the end already. You know how fast Iruma and Irumi are." He said, hope in his voice.

"Yep! Iruma-chi and Irumi-chi are amazing!" Clara cheered out, popping up from Sabro's back.

"Indeed they... how long have you been there?"

"From the beginning!"

"That's not important you two!" Alice roared, trying to restore focus. "We have to find the lord and lady! It's unbearable to be away and I ran off without them!" He started crying, realizing the failure he made by not ensuring he was by his masters' sides.

"There they are~!" Clara sang, seeing blurs of blue speed right passed them.

"...were they heading into Cutthroat Valley?" The shield asked, feeling very nervous for his lord and lady.

"...yes. Yes they are." Alice responded, sweat pouring down his head. "MASTERS!" He cried out, flying after the two with Sabro joining him, pendants in his mouth and magic at the ready to summon an arsenal of shields and blades to protect the prince and princess. Clara... didn't know what was going on and just enjoyed the ride. Kalego, having just watched this, felt like he was going to have a stroke.

(With the Twins)

For many, Cutthroat Valley was a perilous journey of powerful winds and rushing waters that would sweep away all but the strongest of young demons into jagged rocks that would tear them to pieces and vicious magical beasts that would devour anything that proved too careless. For the twins and the authority of their royal bloodline... these concerns were non-existent.

"We are the heirs to the throne! Prince Iruma/Princess Irumi!" They called out in the middle of the rushing gale force winds, hands clasped and glowing with power. "By our command, bring us to the Valley's Guardian!" Soon the winds stopped pushing against them and began to move with them, easily guiding them along the way to Fluffy.

"Whew. Royal Authority still takes so much power." Iruma said, feeling an intense drain on his magic. Royal Authority was a unique type of magic that Delkira made by mixing the twins' mana with the Aether itself, activating when they were in complete sync in mind, body, and soul. The magic gave them ultimate control of the Netherworld, from the magic to the world itself. This showed just how much the twins wanted to see their friend... though Delkira and Opera would give them a scolding for cheating before praising them for their desire.

"Just shows how much more work is ahead of us Uma." His sister said as they cruised as high speeds, safely flying to a giant bowl of dried grass and branches with bones scattered about inside. "Now... where is Fluffy?" She asked as they started looking around. That was when they heard an air shaking growl, bringing their attention to a giant figure covered in black fur and feathers with glowing red eyes and thick black horns. Even in their true forms, this beast towered over them like a mountain, four legs and powerful muscles under the fur served as a nigh impenetrable armor that crushed anything in its wake, and a presence that would make any demon under the rank of Zayin(7) tremble. To the twins?

"FLUFFY!" It was their pet. The twins fearlessly leaped up and latched onto the Guardian's head, rubbing against the soft fur and laughing upon the reunion with their old friend. The Guardian itself released a happy purr that still shook the air, but it was clearly enjoying the affection being shown to it.

"So good to see you again!" Iruma said as he and his sister climbed up to its horns to scratch on the base, making Fluffy shudder in delight. "We heard you were upset about something so we came to see."

"Yeah, what's wrong Fluffy?" Umi asked, causing the beast to rise up and move around the nest, revealing a much smaller white version of the guardian but with more prominent features like the beak, horns, and an odd symbol on its forehead.

"BABY!" The twins cheered, excited to see that Fluffy became a parent, and flew down in front of the creature. The bird was cautious, trying to get ready to run, but the acceptance of its parent and something else seemed to prevent it from moving much. The twins approached it slowly, being as inviting as possible to put the demon bird at ease. Soon their noses twitched as they caught a familiar scent of blood emanating from the baby, specifically the right hind leg. Immediately the twins were on the baby, Iruma cradling the head with soothing rubs while Irumi brought out the leg and finding a deep gash in it.

"Don't worry. We'll take care of you!" Irumi said with a smile as she held up a glowing finger. "Pain, pain, go away~!" She sang while casting healing magic, causing the gash to quickly disappear. "There we go, all better!" The baby looked at its leg and took a couple of experimental steps to find that it was fully healed. It screeched happily before nuzzling the twins. "Such a cute baby~." Umi sang while she and her brother continued to pet it.

"And they aren't even in any danger." They heard from behind, turning to find Alice and Sabro dropping to the nest and panting for air as they flew as fast as possible to catch up, only for Cutthroat Valley to turn against them.

"WOW GUYS~!" Clara sang, her eyes sparkling as she beheld the giant birds. "They're so big~!"

"And fluffy!" The twins joins, getting to Clara and tossing her at Fluffy where Clara immediately began to... swim through the fur... somehow.

"Why do we even try?" Sabro asked as he and Alice dropped to their knees. "I can't keep up with them."

"Because we like having you around Sabro." Iruma answered as he held out a hand to help the shield up while Irumi did the same for her fiancee. "Besides, this is just motivation. Isn't it?" Sabro could only smirk as his devotion to his lord was made stronger.

"Indeed! But... I'm embarrassed to say I'm out." He reluctantly admitted.

"Same." Alice added. The twins looked to each other, then to Fluffy... and Clara who was playing with the baby.

"Fluffy! Can we get a ride?"

(Aftermath)

"And then they just came back with the Guardian and kept it and the baby at the end of the race for everyone to see." Kalego reported to Sullivan and, through a monitor, Delkira while Opera served tea. "Now the whole school knows about it and they're calling it 'Guardian Fluffy'."

"We really should've expected that." Sullivan admitted while looking at the class photo Kalego had his students take, showing off their ranks and making 666 hand signs. "They are the future rulers of the Netherworld."

"And their entourage may grow soon." Delkira added, looking at the students and their ranks. "Alice Daleth(4), Sabro, Clara, and Jazz Gimmel(3), Kerori and Purson Bet(2), Shax, Agares, Allocer, Kaim, Garp, and Elizabetta Aleph(1), and my dear son and daughter. He(5)." He smiled with pride as his children continued to prove their power. "Is that really as low as Balam could get the Rank Owl to make it?"

"That's what he said my lord." Kalego answered. "Still, by their own admission, they would've preferred a lower rank so that the climb up would be more motivating for others."

"They'll have to make due." Delkira stated, placing the picture aside to frame later. "Remember your duty Kalego. I want to hear Babyls sing not just my children's praises, but the whole of the Misfit class. Understood? The class my children are a part of MUST excel."

"Absolutely my lord." The teacher returned as the connection cut out.

"It looks like this generation is going to be a fun one." Sullivan said as Kalego got ready to leave.

"Indeed." He said with a smirk. "Even I can't quell this sense of excitement."
