Gremory domain meeting room
" Finally we are done." sighed azazel as he took a sip from a glass he had in front of him.
" You act like it took us a long time to talk about our domains and how repairs are going. It only took an hour." said sirzechs.
" ya thats an hour i could be doing something better." said azazel putting his feet up on the table.
" Like more paperwork from Shemhazai." said sarafall with a little giggle, causing azazel to almost fall out of his seat in shock.
" I believe he meant going for a drink." said Odin, laughing at Azazel's reaction.
" A drink doesn't sound bad right now. But we still have yet to talk about this rating game." said zeus.
" Ah yes, the games of the devils. I would like to hear about this idea of yours, young lucifer." said shiva in a calm tone.
" Yes, I am rather excited to hear about this idea," said odin.
" You're right. We should start talking about how this world class rating game would go." said azazel getting his feet off the table and taking on a serious face.
" azazel you are right. Now first we should talk about the rating games and how they are played and how we can adapt them to the world class rating game. Serafall would like to take it from here." said sirzechs looking at serafall.
" Sure thing zechs. The game takes the form of a strategic battle between the King and his/her pieces. It is fought on a map of their choosing, and can be created to be a perfect replica of any location they desire. Only mature Devils are allowed to participate in official Rating Games. The servants of the Devils are named after the pieces of chess: Rook, Knight, Queen, Bishop, and Pawn. The maximum number of players in a Rating Game is 16 and like the game of chess, the players lose when their King loses. All participants are placed into four categories: Power, Technique, Wizard, and Support. Aside from the normal rules, there are many more special rules for the Rating Games; aside from the standard rules, the games can also feature unique variations and even objective-based matches." said serafall finishing her explanation.
" Hmmm this is definitely a unique game, and system of power division." said Odin, stroking his beard in thought.
" I agree, and I can already think of some problems this can cause." said michael.
" Michael isn't wrong, we would first have to find a way to implement the evil piece system without changing the individual to a different race, and we would have to find a way to account for different abilities and powers and how many pieces are needed to get someone on their team. We would also need to talk about gods being able to join. If a god was to join or someone of equal power like me, micheal, and the satans, or someone of greater power like old man odin and lord zeus who are counted as some of the strongest even amongst the gods. Then we have those who are in the top ten like lord shiva who could take on almost anyone." said azazel.
" While I would find it quite entertaining to see if someone could beat me, I will not be participating in this game. But I can not speak for Indra, he would most likely take this as a chance to entertain himself, or to push his own plans." said shiva.
" These points are true, so does anyone have any ideas on what we should do or change?" asked sirzechs to the others in the room.
" For one, I would say change the evil pieces to not change the races of the user, and to change how much power someone can have before they need more pieces." said odin.
As the group continued to talk and discuss about the world class rating game, there was a group of people planning on an adventure to stretch their legs.
Hyoudou household
Sitting in the living room of the house were the guys nursing their injuries they had received from training with kiba, who was sitting in a chair looking like nothing happened, and sipping on some tea that one of his peerage members made while reading a book. With the guys in the living room are some of their girlfriends helping them heal from the injuries, with Asia using her sacred gear to heal them up and ravel using her magic to heal the guys as well.
Looking at the guys, Rias had to rub the bridge of her nose and look at her knight. " Was it necessary to injure them this much?" asked Rias in a disappointed voice.
" Sorry Rias, they asked me to fight them a little more seriously so I made a sword that on impact causes a small shock wave similar to a weak hit from Shiroi. But I guess I put a little too much power in the attacks. For this I am sorry." said kiba lowering his head to his king.
" at least the blade was blunt. If it was sharp i think i would have lost an arm or something else." said tanken, with asia healing the bruise on his arm.
" My my, seeing the guys all battered and bruised is stimulating to see." said akeno next to Rias, who just rolled her eyes at her queen's remark.
As Rias was watching the guys get healed a magic communication circle appeared next to her ear and she could hear a message that she had been waiting for, and as the call ended akeno could see her king was in a good mood. Getting out of her chair got the attention of everyone in the room. " Alright everyone, once the guys are fully healed we will be making our way to the familiar forest for the guys to get familiars." said Rias with all of the guys looking at her in confusion.
" umm sorry to ask, but what's a familiar?" asked gin.
" ya, i have read a little about them in some of the books but not a lot, only that they help their masters," said shin.
" you're not wrong, most familiars are used to help the masters with simple tasks like handing out flyers or cleaning, but a couple are used for transportation, and a small amount are used to help fight." said Rias, summoning her familiar taking the form of a small bat.
" So not all familiars are the same?" asked tento.
" yep. Most of the familiars that devils get are small little creatures that help us with little things like most of our familiars do. Some like Asia's familiar can be used to support in battle, but most of the ones used in battle are hard to get given that most of them require you to beat them in a battle to earn their servaes." said akeno.
" Wait, Asia's familiar can be used in battle, but how would you get it if you had to fight?" asked Shiroi.
" Well Asia here didn't have to fight to get her familiar because she is a dragon tamer and her familiar is a sprite dragon that took a liking to her and willingly let her contract it as a familiar." said akeno.
Hearing this the guys looked to Asia in shock that she had a dragon as a familiar. " You have a dragon as a pet and can tame them?" asked tento in shock, thinking to himself if he could be affected by the effect given his dragon type sacred gear.
Blushing at all the attention, Asia nodded her head in confirmation before summoning her familiar. " Yes, and this is Rassei, my familiar." asked Asia, hugging Rassei as he snuggled up to her.
" Rassei? Did you name him or was that his name?" asked shin.
" no, that's the name I gave him when he became my friend. I named him after Rias and Issei, the two people that helped me the most." said Asia, causing Shiroi to grimace and have a jealous look on his face.
" oh speaking of him, does issei have a familiar?" asked tento.
Setting his book down, Kiba was more than willing to talk about issei to the guys. " Yes he does, but it is not like normal familiars. Issei was gifted his familiar, Ryuuteimaru. It takes the form of a boat that can evolve with its owner to become what the owner needs. It started as a small boat but later it became a massive ship that could sail itself to were ever issei wanted it to, it can even sail through the skies and land if issei wanted it to." said kiba, with some of the guys looking aw struck at the thought of a flying ship.
" Well what are we waiting for? Let's get some familiars." said Shin, jumping from his seat before grabbing his side where his bruising was. " after healing. That's a good idea." was Shin's statement before sitting back down.
As the girls healed the guys and got all of them back to 100 percent, Rias made the magic transportation circle to go to the familiar forest. " Alright everyone, time to go. Please get in the circle and get ready." said Rias with everyone but kiba and Irina getting in the circle.
" Are you two not coming?" asked shin.
" I have to catch up on homework and contracts, so I will be using this time to catch up." said kiba, with Rias understanding why her knight wanted to stay.
" and i was called back to heaven by one of my seniors for a meeting with at other brave saints to discuss about the brave saints cards and how they are effecting us." said irina, with rias knowing about these meets given that irina had to go to them every once in a while.
" alright then, we will see you both once we get back." said Rias with her and everyone else disappearing in the flash of the magic circle.
" I will be taking my leave for the day. I hope your meeting goes well." said kiba bowing before leaving to his own devices, with Irina bidding him a good night and leaving in a flash of heavenly light.
Looking back into the room to make sure everyone was gone, kiba let out a breath he was holding. ' Sorry Buchou, but I need to find issei. He has never been away this long without telling someone before and I fear he may have seen you and the others with the guys. Issei is my brother and I am worried.' thought kiba, before making a magic circle to contact sirzech but not getting any connection. Trying with azazel and serafall and having the same problem. Trying one more person and actually getting a connection.
" I am sorry to call out of the blue, but I need your help." said kiba waiting to hear the other person's response.
" Would the problem happen to be about issei?" asked Arthur on the other end of the communication circle.
" Wait, how did you know?" asked kiba.
" Come to the Grigori, and we can explain more." said Arthur, with kiba understanding and turning off the magic before transporting himself to the Grigori.
Familiar forest
In a flash of red the gremory group appeared and all of the guys had to take a knee after using magic to travel for the first time. " Welcome to the familiar forest boys." said akeno, with the guys looking around, seeing the creepy forest with the red tinted sky.
As the guys started to make it back to their normal states from the magic transportation, both Shiroi and tento got a weird feeling. The two brothers both looked up into a tree and they saw a man in a tank top and long pants with a backpack and a reversed ballcap. Jumping from the tree and landing in front of the group was a skinny and lanky man that looked like he could be carried off by a little breeze.
" Hello there young ones, welcome to the familiar forest, I am the familiar master and I am here to help you make your way around my forest." said the familiar master.
" Hello, thank you for letting us come to your forest. We are here to have our friends get some familiars." said rias.
" Familiars, I can help with that. But before we go I should say that some may run from us because of those two." said the familiar master pointing to shiroi and tento.
" us. What did we do?" asked tento pointing to himself.
" Well you two have the sense of a dragon and a tiger. Which causes some of the creatures around to run in fear at the aura. Might I ask why do you feel like these creatures?" asked the familiar master to the two brothers.
" it would be because they are the holders of two guardian beast sacred gears. The azure dragon spear and the white tiger claws." said rias.
" oooh, guardian beasts. Those are some rare ones aren't they? '' said the familiar master.
After getting past the man's weird look, and awkward mannerisms, the group made their way deeper into the familiar forest following the forest's master as he talked about the forest and the many creatures that call this place home.
As the group walked they came across multiple different familiars and different habitats that the familiar master would take time to talk about and explain how the creatures did what they did. At one such little place koneko pointed out an area that had an evil aura coming from it. As they went to investigate, they were all told to stop by the familiar master who quickly changed his demeanor when he saw a small collection of black eggs on the ground.
" Hey, what's with the flip of attention here?" asked shiroi, looking at the familiar master who was looking around frantically.
" Mister, is everything ok?" asked shin.
After not answering the two teens for a will, the familiar master finally turned to the two and answered them. " Sorry about that, but these eggs are a very aggressive and territorial invasive species. They kill with no remorse and have been wiping out native creatures to the forest. They were brought here by some evil devils who tried to attack tiamat with the mimics but they didn't last long against the dragon king and the remaining mimics feld into the forest and have been running rampant." said the familiar master.
" Wait, these things kill everything around them and you didn't tell us about them. Dude we could have been attacked and killed.!" yelled gin.
" gins right. Warning us would have been nice if we could have died." said shin.
" boys please calm down. There should be a good reason for the familiar master not telling us, right?" asked Rias looking at the familiar master.
" you would be right lady gremory. When I learned of these things killing off familiars, I asked for help to get rid of them. With the help from some devils and lady tiamat, we killed most of them. At the time we thought we killed them all but I guess there were still at least two alive. If I had known that there were still mimics left out here I wouldn't have allowed your group to come." said the familiar master.
Hearing this, everyone understood that they were not lied to or put in danger. " So what will you do with the eggs?" asked akeno looking at the eggs.
" destroy them. That's the only way to guarantee that they dont start wiping out more familiars." said the familiar master.
" But won't the parents come looking for us if we kill their young?" asked tanken.
" If the parents were alive then we wouldn't be standing here." said the familiar master, making his way to the eggs and starting to crush them.
Before he could finish crushing the eggs he was stopped. " Sir, could I crush one of the eggs?" asked gin.
looking at gin he grabbed an egg and threw it at him. " knock yourself out kid. As long as you crush it doesn't mean anything to me. In the end it is dead." said the familiar master, crushing the rest of the eggs.
" uuhh, gin why did you want the egg?" asked asia.
" I want to see if my sacred gear will activate and take the abilities of the creature." said gin.
" Aw, I see. That's a good idea, and we can see how your sacred gear works. Good thinking gin." praised rias.
As gin crushed the egg everyone looked at him to see if anything would happen. But once he had crushed the egg nothing happened. " Well, do you feel any different or something?" asked tento.
Looking over himself, gin didn't feel any different and was about to tell the others that it didn't work, but was stopped by a burning feeling on his arm causing him to freak out for a second. As gin was holding his arm the others came to make sure he was ok until xenovia noticed that on gins arm his tattoo of the snake now had a purple diamond shape just behind where the head met the body.
After a couple of seconds gin recomposed himself and looked at his arm seeing the addition to the tattooed sacred gear. As soon as he looked at it he felt a rush of information in his head and perfectly understood everything about his new abilities and about the creature he got them from on an instinctual level.
" Ha dude , are you alright?" asked Shin out of concern for his friend.
" ya i'm fine. I might even be better than fine." said gin jumping to his feet.
" Well don't keep us in the dark, what kinda abilities did you get?" asked shiroi, curious about his friend's new abilities.
" well unfortunately the majority of the use of this creature i cant use until i get to the balance breaker, but one thing i can do now is a type of life stealing touch." said gin showing off the ability by activating it on his hands causing a red aura to appear on them.
" Life steal. The familiar master didn't say anything about that." said shin.
" That would be because I didn't know. But it makes more sense why the devils tried using them to fight tiamat." said the familiar master.
As the last of the eggs were crushed, the group continued into the familiar forest seeing more familiars and asking about what they did. At one point the groups stopped and had a picnic on the side of a grassy field that the familiar master pointed out. Using magic rias made a basket appear that was filled to the brim with homemade food.
The group enjoyed a group picnic with some of the girls feeding the boys and some just enjoying the lunch they are having with their girlfriends, except for Shin who was just sitting eating his food given that his girlfriend was currently in heaven. As the group was finishing up their food, Shiroi got a weird feeling.
Shiroi looked to the forest that was behind the group. Looking into the dark forest he felt a strange pulling on his senses, like something wanted him to walk into the forest. Little to his own knowledge he had started walking into the forest with only the familiar master noticing that he wasn't with the group when they finished putting the picnic supplies away.
Calling out his name and not getting a response caused the group to become afraid. Tento was the most worried, he might act like his brother is a little annoying and noisy but at the end of the day they were brothers, and tento would do anything to help his brother. Seeing the concern on the boy's face, Rias asked koneko to help find him and once asked she listened.
As soon as koneko used her senjutsu she found shiroi but she also found something else. " I found him but there is some kinda creature with him." said koneko pointing in the direction of shiroi.
As soon as the group heard this they all quickly made their way to the area. They quickly picked up the pace when they felt shiroi activate his sacred gear and heard the sound of his shockwaves. As they got closer the other guys activated they're sacred gears ready for a fight. Making it over a hill the group saw shiroi standing in a fighting stance facing off against a strange creature that looked like a mix of a leopard and a tiger with five tails and a horn on its head.
" shiroi!" yelled tento to his brother.
" I'm good but I don't know how I got here or what this thing is, but it attacked me." said shiroi not looking away from the creature.
Tento was about to jump in and help his brother but was stopped by the familiar master. " Wait, don't intervene in this fight." said the familiar master holding one of his arms out to stop tento.
" wait! What do you think you are telling me to do." yelled tento pointing his spear at the familiar master, who did not pay it any attention.
" I am helping you complete what you came here to do." said the familiar master.
" umm, sir. What is that creature?" asked asia.
Looking away from the soon to be battle, the familiar master answered her question. " it's a zheng. A creature known to be a mix of a leopard and a tiger, with five tails and a horn on its head. It is a rare creature, given that they normally live in mountainous areas and don't come down normally. But I guess this is part of their way of testing if someone is worth their time to be a familiar."
" So it's a large five tailed cat. Doesn't sound that hard to fight." said gin
" Well if you didn't count their claws that can cut through metal like paper, and their ability to cause earthquakes with their paws." said the familiar master causing everyone to look at him in shock, before looking back to shiroi who was still holding his stance against the creature.
As shiroi held his stance with his sacred gear activated, the beast across from him was ready to pounce on its prey. The two stayed there staring at each other blocking out everything around them until it was just them. As a branch fell from a tree making a small noise, they both charged. As shiroi dashed towards the creature and that the creature ran and jumped at shiroi, a massive shock wave appeared when they both made contact with each other.
Once the two made contact the whole group had to grab something to stop themselves from falling. The shockwaves caused by shiroi's and the tremors caused by the zheng, shook the earth around them reshaping it into a battle field of sharp rocks, and twisted trees and roots. With each hit of shiroi's claws the zheng would stagger, and with each blow from the zheng's paws shiroi would fall to the ground just to get right back up.
Feeling the rush of the fight, shiroi didn't realize that he started smiling even after the zheng took a bite out of his shoulder. Unaware of the other people watching, the zheng was also feeling its own joy from the fight. While watching the fight, the whole group was focused on shiroi, with some being ready to step in and fight, with some it was an interest of the fight. But to two there was something different. To Asia she was concerned about shiroi and wanted to heal his shoulder and the other injuries he was receiving, and two koneko she was interested in the smell and the change happening to shiroi.
After a couple of minutes of watching the fight, the group noticed that the two were starting to slow down. The zheng had multiple cuts and slashes on its body with a broken back leg and some bruises, while shiroi had his own injuries with a bite on his shoulder, cuts on his body with his clothes ripped to shreds and a broken rib or two. The two stood a couple of feet apart feeling their injuries and starting to have problems standing from exhaustion and blood loss, but neither of them were ready to back down. As the zheng prepared itself for another attack, shiroi pulled his arm back and threw a hard punch towards the zheng but he was about 3 feet short from hitting it, but that was enough when a shockwave of compressed air shot towards the zheng.
As soon as the air shot hit the zheng it was sent skittering back before falling to the ground. A couple seconds passed when no one did anything, until Shiroi's sacred gear disappeared and he began to fall. Before he hit the ground he was caught by his brother who had dash to him with Asia right behind him and the others making their way to him too. Laying shiroi on the ground, Asia started to heal her boyfriend while the others looked to the zheng, with the familiar master looking over the creature.
After a couple of minutes shiroi began to wake up with the group releasing a sigh of relief. As shiroi started to sit up he was hugged by Asia who had some tears in her eyes, while the others said how happy they were that he woke up. Before shiroi could fully stand up with the help of his brother and shin, the group's attention was pulled by the familiar master who was still standing next to the zheng which was looking at shiroi.
As the group helped shiroi to the familiar master and the zheng. " Congratulations, you have passed this zheng's test." said the familiar master to shiroi.
" what?" asked shiroi in shock, with the rest of the group understanding what the familiar master said earlier.
" aw that's right you were fighting. You see, this creature's way of testing if someone is worthy of being their master is to fight them. Know that you have won, you can now make a familiar contract with it." said the familiar master gesturing to the zheng.
" You hear that shiroi, you can get a familiar now," said Asia, smiling at shiroi.
Helping shiroi over to the zheng, rias showed him how to make a contract with the zheng. As shiroi made the contract a glow came over the zheng and before anyone knew what happened the contract was done. " Congratulations shiroi, you're the first one to get a familiar." said Rias with a smile.
As the group continued to celebrate their friend's accomplishment a loud beeping went off. As the group looked to the source of the noise, they all saw the familiar masters looking at a magic circle on his hand that was going off. " Well I am sorry to say but time is up. I am sorry that only one of you got a familiar, but it is time for you all make your way back home." said the familiar master, turning off the magic circle.
" Oh come on. You can't let us stay a little longer?" asked tento, a little angry at the thought of not getting a familiar.
" ya, the only one to get a familiar was shiroi. It's not fair." said gin.
" It's ok boys. Sometimes it takes multiple trips to get a whole group familiar, and the familiar master is just following the rules of the forest." said Rias calming down the boys.
After getting the boys to calm down and scheduling another visit, Rias and the other girls made a magic circle to teleport everyone back. In a flash of red the whole group was gone, leaving the familiar master alone. ' Those kids are definitely a weird bunch. That green haired one, he seems a little off.' thought the familiar master while leaving to go to his house to sleep.
On the other side of the familiar forest in a cluster of trees a black knife sticking out of the ground began to glow before a flash went off and two people appeared.
Transalvayna
As the sun rose over the horizon and the beams of light landed on the open courtyard of the town hall, all that could be seen was bodies littering the ground and piles of ashes being blown away by the morning wind. "...p…"
"Wa… u"
"is ….."
As he was laying on the ground, Issei slowly came to feel the heat from the sun hit his face and the ringing of his ears. As he opened his eyes, he could feel where his regeneration had healed his body and the ringing in his ears was starting to leave him.
" issei…. Up."
" issei you …. Wake….. Now."
" Issei you need to wake up now!" yelled draig.
" draig. I'm awake." said issei slowly getting to his feet.
" issei. Good to hear your voice. I've been trying to get you to wake up for hours." said draig, with relief in his voice.
" I would ask how long I've been out, but given the sun is up I would say that I have been out a while." said issei getting to his feet, looking at the sun and having to shield his eyes for a couple of seconds before he could see clearly again.
" Issei, before you look around you need to know. It's not your fault." said draig.
" I already know draig. But it still.'' Issei turned around and looked at all the bodies of the innocent people. " PISSES ME OFF." said issei in a deep dragonic voice, with his teeth sharpening and his eyes turning reptilian and rage leaking off of him like a void of darkness swallowing up everything
" issei, you need to calm down. I know how you feel. If I was not sealed in here and out there with you, I would find much pleasure in helping you rip this guy apart. But right now we need a plane to kill alucard." said draig.
" and save luna." added issei.
" issei. Alucard wants to change her, the moment he has the power to change her he will." said draig.
" but he doesn't. If he did he would have done it before. So if we're lucky then we still have time." said issei.
" you humans with your hope. It's a mystery to me, but sometimes you seem to make things just happen all because of this hope. So i will trust you with this, just like i said i would. " said draig
" thanks draig." said issei looking in the direction of alucards castle.
" So then partner, what's the plan?" asked draig.
" I am going to force him to break his concentration, and use my flames to harm him. If i can get him off guard and lose focus on his sword i should be able to handle his attacks with little damage. But I also want to try and use his own technique against him." said issei.
" It's a good plan, but to use the technique like him takes years of training, and i don't think you will be able to do it with your shadow swords given that they are made out of magic." said draig.
" i agree that i can't do it with my shadow swords, but i want to use the technique to compress my fire into a small point." said issei.
" Issei to compress your flame like that could be disastrous. If you lose focus then you could have a massive detention happen or you could cause a massive condensed inferno that would vaperize you and anything inside its radius instantly. You might have extreme resistance to fire but even I wouldn't want to test if I am that fire resistant." warned draig.
" But if I can do it, can I use the flames and some magic to make a timed detonation on that explosion and contain it to a small area like a fire dome, or could I compress it to a small point and launch it like a beam?" asked issei.
" The timed detonation and area compressive dome, the level of control you would need is out of your scope right now. But the beam is possible, you would simply need to hold the flames in a point and allow them to be pushed out in a small pointed direction." explained draig.
" for a dragon you are sure good at teaching." said issei.
" Well I should be. My greatest pride is my flames. It should be only normal for me to know so much about controlling fire when I myself have been doing just that for centuries." said draig with pride radiating off of him.
" Alright, time to kill a vampire." said issei with draig agreeing.
Knowing that time was limited, issei spotted his wings and launched into the air with great speed, almost breaking the sound barrier as he made his way to alucards castle. As issei came into sight of the castle he slowed down, until he came to a complete stop floating in the air. Using his dragon eyes, issei could see that the castle had been sealed up tight and the door that he ripped off the hinges had been fixed and secured.
" It seems they made some improvements," said Issei with a grin.
" It's a clear sign that he doesn't want you to stop him." said draig.
" Well too bad for him. He made it personal." said issei flying down the courtyard in front of the main door.
Walking up to the main door, issei could hear resling just behind it and could also hear muffled screaming from deeper inside the building. Once he heard the muffled screams, his rage skyrocketed. Getting a grin on his face, Issei grew his claws and dug them into the front door hearing the splitting of wood and the creaking of metal. Gritting his teeth issei pulled and ripped the door in two allowing sunlight to beam into the castle turning some lesser turned vampires to ash getting the attention of the other turned in the room.
Walking into the castle, issei could see the dozens of turned vampires all staring at him with hunger in their dead eyes. Looking around at them, issei decided to move fast and waste as little time as possible. Light a fire in both hands, issei pushed his pales out in opposite direction sending a wave of fire in both directions incinerating all the turned vampires to ashes.
Walking deeper into the castle issei continued to kill vampires, and even had to kill a couple Vargheists. As he was walking through the coradoors and the hallways, he noticed that less and less vampires and creatures as he made his way deeper in until he made it to a double door that was locked and had light coming from under the door. Once issei was in front of the door he could smell alucard on the other side of it, so with a powerful kick the door fell over and revealed the contents of the room.
" Might I ask, what is your obsession with breaking doors?" asked alucard, holding a wine glass in his hand, swishing around a red liquid.
Looking at the table in front of alucard, issei could see the other vampire hunter that was with him and luna the other night laying on the table bleeding from the neck. Looking back at alucard, issei could see him taking a sip from the glass. " awww, mid thirties. Not a bad taste, it's kinda sweet with a hint of bitterness. Seemed he liked to smoke here and there. Sweetness definitely comes from him being a virgin, a little sad that he didn't eat more red meat would have made him a great quality to save." said alucard, drinking the rest to the blood in his glass before grabbing and throwing the hunter to the side.
" All you're doing now is pissing me off more and more, and that just makes me want to kill you more so please keep giving me reasons to rip your head off." said issei with fury in his eyes.
" oh and here i thought you were here for her." said alucard jestering towards an upside down cross behind him.
Looking up issei froze before he looked back at alucard with his aura lecking off of him, with darkness over taking the area he was standing in with all the light inside of it disappearing to nothing. Black and purple fire started to escape from issei's mouth being the only thing other than his rage filled eyes that alucard could see in the darkness.
Above alucard tied to the upside down cross was Luna with her arms tied above her head. Pointed right at her heart was alucards sword levitating in the air. " Now, we wouldn't want anything to happen to this beauty here. So let's talk about your options. First you can just walk away, but that's not something I think you would do. Second, you can trade yourself for her. You could try and attack me and I kill her, drink her blood, and then kill you." said alucard grinning at issei.
Pulling his aura back in, issei started to manipulate the shadows behind alucard to make their way to luna. " so my options are to leave and watch you attack the world, trade my life for her just for you to take her later, or fight you and have her die." said issei keeping alucards attention to himself.
As the shadows crept up to Luna and in alucards blind spots, issei was mulling over his choices. " You know, i think i have made my choice." said issei, holding his hands to his sides with shadow swords coming from the ground and into his open palms.
" That's too bad." said alucard, moving his fingers, sending his sword into Luna's chest. Alucard started to have a grin, until he heard the thud of his sword hitting the cross. Sniffing the air, alucards face changed to a monsterous look before turning around and looking up to the upside down cross to see his sword sticking into the cross but Luna was nowhere to be found. Turning back around to issei, he was about to yell at him but was forced to dodge a massive fireball that exploded on impact with the chair he was sitting in. as alucard got back to his feet from the dodge, he pulled his sword back to him catching it with a flourish.
" Well, guess there was a fourth option." said issei with a grin as he held both of his shadow swords up ready to fight.
" I am going to enjoy bleeding you for every last drop that's in that repulsive body." said alucard with venom in his voice.
Sharpening his gaze, Issei used his fire to light the edges of his blades with the black and purple fire. Seeing his opponent light his swords ablaze, alucard dashed at issei thrusting his swords straight at issei's chest attempting to impale him, but was stopped by issei's shadow armor. Before alucard could pull his sword back to attack again, he had to lean his head back to dodge a flaming blade from taking his head off. Jumping back alucard tried to take a slice at issei's neck, but missed when issei jumped back and used his words to make two slashes in the air sending two waves of fire at alucard.
Using his sword alucard hit the fire and dispelled it using his own magic power in the blade. As soon as issei landed he ran to attack alucard swinging both of his swords repetitively, but was continually blocked by alucard. As the attacks continued issei noticed alucard focusing his magic into the sword to make it sharper like the first time they fought. Seeing that some of his attacks were starting to get through and was starting to damage his shadow armor, issei decided to put his plan in motion. Using his pyrokinesis, issei covered his body in his flames before forcing it out in a dome of fire distracting alucard for a brief moment but it was long enough for issei to get a slice off on alucards arm burning the flesh.
Stepping away from issei, alucard looked at the cut on his arm and the new scar it made. " In all my years, no one has ever injured me. Let alone twice. Now I have these ugly scars tarnishing my body. You will…." alucard was interrupted when multiple shadow spears coated in flames were launched at him. As alucard clung to the ceiling of the room looking down at issei, he could see issei grinning at him.
" You talk way too much. Even Diodora didn't talk this much." said issei crouching down readying himself to jump at alucard.
Seeing issei crouching down, and being enraged, alucard dropped his sword and transformed into his monsterous form, roaring at issei. Grinning up at the bat monster, issei jumped up cracking the ground under him, with alucard pushing off the ceiling leaving a dent in the stone.
Elsewhere in the castle earlier
Appearing in a cocoon of shadows was Luna laying on the ground with the binding holding her hands cut. As she got to her feet, Luna looked around before hearing the sounds of battle coming from somewhere in the castle. " issei." said Luna looking around trying to think of where to go.
After debating for a short time, Luna chose a direction and started running to help issei. As she was running through the halls, Luna saw some turned vampires in her way and instead of stopping she increased her speed and grew her claws. Dashing past the vampires, Luna sliced the heads of the vampires off with her claws.
Rounding a corner, Luna was about to push off but was sent flying back first through the wall behind her. " I am getting really tired of being thrown around." said Luna, getting back on her feet and looking at what hit her.
Standing in the center of the whole that Luna made was a Vargheist with rage and fury blazing in its eyes. Rolling back dodging a hit from the Vargheist, luna jumped to her feet and continued dodging hits from the Vargheist by back stepping, side stepping, and jumping over the Vargheist. While all of this was happening Luna had grown her claws once again and had started slicing and cutting the Vargheist every chance she got. At one point Luna jumped over the Vargheists large arm doing a cartwheel right over its head and landing on its back where she proceeded to start clawing at its back and neck trying to kill the creature.
While Luna was on the creature's back she was ducking under the attack from the Vargheist, but wasnt ready for the Vargheist to jump up and lean back slamming its back and Luna into the ground. As the creature got up it grabbed Luna's leg and started slamming her against the ground and the walls until it threw her though the wall farthest from it. As Luna landed it was seen that she had blood coming out of her mouth, ears, and the numeris cuts all over her body. As Luna laid on the ground with her hair sprawled out behind her head she could only think of how weak she is and how all because of her another person was going to die. ' again. I'm too weak to help anyone.' thought Luna as she felt the vibrations from the Vargheist walking over to her.
' Is this the best you have?' said a voice from nowhere.
' must be losing more blood than i thought. I'm starting to hear voices.' thought Luna as her eyes closed.
Opening her eyes, Luna was back in her mental space with her werewolf persona next to her wagging its tail like a loyal puppy seeing its own after a long time. Looking around Luna could see that it changed a little. Instead of an all white area there was now a space that looked like a dark forest in the dead of night with a full moon cresting over a mountain, but the one thing that luna wasn't expecting to see was her great grandfather standing atop a rock outcropping.
" grandpa. Why are you here?" asked luna.
" the better question would be why are you here?" asked Luna's grandfather.
" But this is my mind, just like this wolf is the sign of my curse." said luna.
" this is not just your mind. This forest is a representation of our family's heritage. And that pup is not a symbol of your curse. It is a symbol of our family's blessing." said the grandfather.
" blessing but i'm the only one that has it, and everyone has called it a curse?" asked luna.
" It was lost after I inherited it. I thought your father would have it just like me but it seems to skip generations more with time. Before me there were dozens of others that had this blessing. It is what made our family so good at hunting vampires and other creatures. But it was a family secret." said Luna's grandfather.
" So I'm not the only one to have this?" asked luna.
" no but you have to stop holding it back. If you want to help that boy out there, you need to let the best free. Not caged and weakened in that state." said Luna's grandfather pointing at the wolf next to luna.
" caged but this is…." Luna was interrupted.
" You and the beast are supposed to be one, not two separate entities like this." said the grandfather.
" But then how do you not become a monster? Not feeling caged or hungry?" asked luna.
" The beast is not a cage or a monster." He began to change with his claws growing out of his skin and his face starting to reveal the eyes and face of an all black beast. His teeth grow and his limbs elongated at the skin and muscles torn from the body. As the last of the skin tore from his body, Luna's great grandfather grabbed the remaining skin as he was revealed to be a massive pitch black werewolf with red eyes howling to the moon above him.
" The beast is freedom, it's the power we were given to use for the good of others. Now show me why the beast chose you to hold the power instead of your father or his father before. Prove to me that you can help that boy out there." growled out Luna's grandfather.
" when I first came here. Me and the beast were two different entities and now it's this." said Luna pointing to the wolf that had started to growl at Luna's grandfather.
" You need to accept it. Let the beast in and surrender yourself to it. For once you surrender yourself to the beast and let it in, you will no longer have to fear losing yourself to it. You will be one." said the growl pitch black werewolf.
Looking at the little wolf next to her, Luna could feel herself in the wolf but there was also more. As she looked back to her grandfather she could sense him and the beast in perfect balance. Unlike how it feels with her and the wolf, where one is more calm and composed, with the other being wild and spontaneous. There was no balance in either of them. As she was about to ask her grandfather another question, Luna felt a strong pain in her side then her back while the world around her shuck.
" ow, what was that?" asked Luna, getting to her feet.
" that would be your body getting hit by that creature. It would seem you don't have much time left. Make your choice. Let the beast in and save yourself and the boy, or refuse the beast and die. " said Luna's grandfather with his red eyes narrowing.
" What do I need to do? How can I surrender to the beast?" asked luna.
" The thing that keeps you from accepting the beast is that you have no goal other than to kill that vampire. That is your cage and the beast doesn't like cages." said Luna's grandfather.
" I'm the caged one. And what do you mean i have no other goals other than killing alucard. I have goals." said luna.
" What are they then?" asked Luna's grandfather.
" well it's too… I mean I plan to…. I don't know." said Luna, confused at her realization that she didn't have any future goals.
As she came to this realization, Luna felt another hit on her body and the world around her shook again but this time the world started to fall apart. " It seems your time is running out. So what will it be." said Luna's grandfather, changing back to normal.
Looking at the world around her crumbling, and looking concerned at her grandfather, Luna was freaking out. She began to hyperventilate and have a panic attack until she felt something pressing against her side. Looking to her side, Luna saw the little wolf snuggling up to her whining. Hugging the wolf Luna started to apologize to it until she heard a voice. Listening to the voice to see where it was coming from Luna realized it was coming from the wolf.
As Luna put her ear to the wolf's fur she could hear the voice and as soon as she heard the voice she knew who it was and what her goal after alucard was. " looks like you found the key to your cage. My time has come. It was good to see my granddaughter at least once." said Luna's grandfather smiling at her as a bright light started growing behind him.
As Luna looked up at her great grandfather all she saw was a smiling man happy to see family, not the beast she saw earlier. Luna wanted to say so many things to him but she realized she wouldn't have time so she went with something simple. " Thank you grandpa. Love you." said Luna as the light overtook her grandfather with it getting closer to her. Before the light got to her, Luna hugged the wolf fully understanding what her grandfather meant and in the blink of an eye before the light hit there was only one person left, that being Luna in her werewolf form.
Back in the castle the Vargheist was stalking closer and closer to Luna ready to stomp her head in. As the creature raised its arm to crush Luna, it was stopped dead in its tracks before being thrown back into a wall, indenting it and breaking some of its bones. As the Vargheist pushed itself up, it looked back to its target but what's interrupted by a massive metal pike being thrown into its shoulder pinning it to the wall. Yelling out from the pain, the Vargheist tried to look at its attacker and roar but had been frozen in something it had never experienced, fear.
All the Vargheist could see was piercing yellow eyes that demanded submission. Standing in the dark bearley illuminated was Luna with her eyes piercing the dark and her hair flowing behind her. Walking to the Vargheist, Luna had no fear, no hesitation even when the Vargheist tried to swipe her head off. Raising her arm, Luna stopped the Vargheists' attack cold with little effort, just like the little amount of effort it took for Luna to break the Vargheists arm. As the creature started to yell from the pain, Luna grabbed the Vargheists lower jaw and with a simple pull, ripped the creature's lower jaw and part of its throat straight off the creature's body. Seeing the work she did Luna was shocked that she could do it so easily and that the anger and rage only stayed with her for a short time when she needed it then went back like nothing happened. Breaking off a piece of the pike, Luna slammed it into the Vargheists heart and watched as it crumbled to dust.
" So this is freedom. I kinda like it." said Luna looking at her hands smiling. Looking up, Luna was about to start making her way to help Issei when she caught sight of something that made her smile even wider.
Back with issei
Fighting with swords and honor is the normal way of fighting, but sometimes rage can cause others to fight wildly and lose honor. But what alucard and issei were doing was the farthest thing from a fight, it would be better described as to animals trying to kill each other. A massive humanoid bat monster and a dragonic human slamming each other against walls and throwing each other around like ragdolls, would be what normal people see. What most people wouldn't see is countless healing scars all over alucards body, and Issei's flaming claws and sharp toothed grin.
As the two landed on opposite sides of the room, both bleeding and panting from their fight. Issei had changed his claws back to normal and allowed his shadows to start crawling over his body and heal his injuries, but unlike alucard whose healing happened naturally, issei's healing takes more of his stamina. As alucard looked to Issei, he could feel all the cuts on his body healing and he knew that they were leaving scars all over his body, which pissed him off even more than he already was.
As the rage in alucard grew to unimaginable levels, issei knew he would have to come up with something or he was going to run out of steam. Issei being primarily a dragon with a small part devil gave him a ridiculous amount of stamina and endurance, but not infinite. ' it seems i wasn't fully rested after that attack last night. My muscles are screaming at me and I am having to catch my breath more and more. I need to think of something. Draig you got anything?' asked issei in his head.
' Sorry partner, but I can't think of anything at the moment that would help. If the boosted gear wasn't inactivated then we could try and power through it but at the moment it seems that you are in a bad situation.' said draig to issei.
As issei was listening to his partner he noticed that alucard had changed back to his normal form and had a grin on his face. Curious about why he changed issei didn't notice a massive creature plowing into his back sending him to the ground. ' and it just got worse.' replied issei in his head as he tried to push himself off the ground but was stopped by a massive foot to keep him to the ground.
Looking up issei could see that the thing holding him down was one of the Terrorgheist that destroyed the town and knocked him out. Looking back to alucard, issei could see the second Terrorgheist was next to him with a glowing purple energy coming from its mouth which was pointed right at himself.
" well, it seems you are running low on energy. It would appear that you didnt listen when I told you the first lesson is to use as little stamina as needed. But it doesn't matter now, because soon you will fuel me with enough dragon blood to make a powerful army, and the power I need to change the beautiful hellsing descendant." said alucard grinning at issei.
" like hell. You try to take even a drop of my blood or touch Luna. I will set this whole castle ablaze and burn you and every last creature you have to ash." said issei, with his eyes changing to his dragon eyes filled with rage.
" big talk coming from you. You look like you could barely make a puff of smoke. Maybe I will keep you awake and alive just to watch as I turn Luna hellsing and make her mine for all eternity." said alucard, stepping closer and closer to issei with each word.
With every step and with every word, issei's rage and fury grew as if it was boosted by the boosted gear, but instead of doubling it just grew and grew and didn't stop until. " GO TO HELL!" yelled out issei in a mix of a dragonic and some other deep bestial roar. As issei roared out, a massive black pool of darkness spilled out around him and hundreds of shadowy pikes, spears, and spikes launched out in every direction. As each weapon hit, pieces of the castle would shatter off like broken glass, and crumbled to ash as the shadow weapons obliterated whatever they touched.
As the movement of the shadows slowed to nothing, all that could be seen was a forest of spikes, and spears. When the dust settled issei could see that both of the Terrorgheists were slowly turning to dust, with the one that was holding him having it the worst with spikes in just about every part of its body while the one next to alucard was pinned to a wall with with a spike through its head and heart. Pushing himself up to his hands and knees, issei was panting and had sweat dripping down his face.
" Well well well. It would seem you still had a little left in the tank." said alucard appearing from around one of the spikes.
" damn it. Do you ever just get tired of talking?" asked issei rhetorically, as he got to his feet with a little trouble.
" Personally, no. i think i have a rather sweet voice." said alucard with a shit eating grin stretched across his face.
With exhaustion clear on his face, issei did his best to put his arms up to keep fighting but he was standing on wobbly legs. Issei could barely stand up let alone manafest any of his powers, or any of his dragonic features yet he tried anyways barely having a flame appear and his eyes being the only things to change with his body.
" Even now when you can barely stand, you still plan to fight me? You should just lay down, roll over, and die already." said alucard using his telepathic control over his sword to cut the back of issei's legs causing him to drop to his knees.
' Damn it. Draig, I'm sorry for bringing you into this.' thought issei.
' no. issei like i said, i am with you to the end.' said draig with rage in his eyes at his own weakness.
" Now to make sure you don't try and stop me." said alucard raising his sword to cut issei's hands.
As the sword was coming down to cut issei, all that both could hear was a loud bang. Time froze for both alucard and issei, with the only sound coming after the bang being the clanging of metal on the stone grounds. After a couple of seconds of silence, the sound of screaming echoed through the castle.
Looking to the source issei could see alucard holding his arm, as he yelled out in pain he clutched his arm were his entire hand was missing with a weird purple liquid coming from the injury and through his veins. Hearing a second bank, alucard now had a hole in his thigh with the same purple liquid coming from the wound and into his veins. Looking to where the sound came from, issei was both extremely happy, and amazed at the same time. Standing on a banister overlooking the area issei and alucard were fighting in was Luna with her hair flowing behind her, with one hand holding a column and her other hand holding a smoking revolver pointed right at alucard.
' for once i am happy to see a female saving us.' said draig, in issei's head, while issei just sat there staring at her. ' issei?' asked draig, surprised his partner did say anything. Looking deeper, Draig could sense his emotions and it put a grin on his face.
" issei move, now's your chance." said luna jumping down next to issei shooting more bullets at alucard causing him to scream more.
Turning to issei, luna holstered her gun and grabbed issei's arm to help him up. Getting issei to stand luna could see the cuts on issei's legs and how they were very slowly healing. " issei i'm sorry i wasn't here sooner. Why did you teleport me away? I could have helped?" asked Luna, doing her best to help issei.
" YOU, biTCH. I will, drAIn your BOdy dRy!" yelled alucard shifting from human to bat monster form.
Looking to alucard, luna's eyes flashed with anger as she drew her revolvers and started firing shot after shot at alucard causing more and more purple liquid to be pumped into alucards body, making him go more and more crazy. Flailing his arms around alucard started knocking into objects and walls as he tried blocking the bullets but they kept hitting him. As the bullets continued, issei was dumbstruck at the ease the bullets were piercing alucards body. While luna went to reload one of her revolvers a strange sound was coming from somewhere, but before she could think about that she here issei yell out her name. As she was about to answer there was a slicing and a sharp pain in her chest. Looking down, Luna could see alucards sword sticking out of the center of her chest.
" LUNA!" yelled issei seeing luna drop to her knees.
" HA ha. FInallY." laughed out alucard.
While alucard laughed like the deranged monster he was, he didn't notice the dark mass rising from the ground in the shape of a purple eyed dragon. Feeling the mass of anger, alucard looked to the mass to see issei standing with his eye glowing a massive purple, with his shadow behind him in the shape of a dragon. In that moment alucard felt something he had never felt in his life, absolute unending fear. Before alucard could do anything a massive force hit him and carried him straight into a wall.
Feeling a force around his neck and the pain from being repetitively slammed into the wall by an enraged issei, made alucard furies but his body wouldnt responded to him. He tried and tried but the hold issei had, and the fear he was causing made his body frozen, but the thing that really made his soul freeze was when a piece of the wall fell and sunlight pierced the room.
Slowly looking at the light alucard had a very bad feeling. noticing that he wasn't being slammed into the wall alucard turned his head to look at issei only to see an evil grinning dragon staring back at him. Before he could say anything alucard felt issei pull him back just to be sent right through the wall into the sunlight. As the sun burned alucard to ash, causing him to scream in agony, the only words he heard before he died was from the angry dragonic face of issei in a deep monsterous voice. " burn."
As the final spec of ash fell from issei's hand, the darkness around him seemed to evaporate to nothing as his dragonic features vanished with the darkness. As the rage and anger left his body, issei felt the strength he just had slowly left as well, but before that he quickly turned around and made his way to luna.
" luna. Luna, can you hear me?" asked Issei, pulling the sword out of her chest and covering the injury with his hands.
Getting no response, Issei began to worry. ' draig what do I do? I don't know healing magic. The girls never taught me how to heal." asked issei to draig.
' i don't know healing magic, or recovery magic. But there might be a way, your shadows heal you by covering the injury then healing it. Try and do that but on her, use whatever energy you have left and focus it on her.' said draig.
Listening to his partner issei forced the surrounding shadows to bend to his will and cover Luna's injuries. As the shadows creeped over Luna, Issei could feel his energy leave his body and go into Luna, but he could also feel what little energy he had become even smaller. Feeling the wound under his hand close,issei let out a sigh he was holding as he felt all the energy he had left him and flow into Luna as the shadows fell away once issei had nothing left. Looking to luna issei was hoping to see some sign that what he did helped, he looked to see if she was breathing, if she had a heart beat, but issei had little to no idea on what he should be looking for. As the seconds passed issei started to have a down cast look on his face.
" you know….. It's …. Easier to… breathe without…. You pushing down." said a low voice having trouble breathing in between words.
Looking down at the girl, issei could see her eyes opening and looking around slowly, and that she was trying to push his arms off her wound that happened to be right in between her very soft breasts. Once issei put the pieces together, he couldn't move his hands fast enough almost to the point that he almost dislocated his arms as they went into the air.
" Luna, you're ok." said Issei as he brought his hands back down to help Luna up.
" ya, thank you for helping me." said luna as she sat up with issei's help.
" No problem." said issei sitting next to luna feeling the exhaustion hit him like a 10 ton hammer.
" It's finally over. He's dead." said Luna as she looked at the sunlight coming in from the hole in the wall.
" ya. Sorry that I killed him, I know you wanted your revenge and all." replied issei.
" Either way he was going to end up dead so doesn't really matter now." said luna with exhaustion hitting her just as hard as issei.
" Speaking of now. What will you do?" asked Issei, curious about what the girl was planning on doing.
" You know that's a good question. I don't know. But I do know one thing." said Luna, turning her head to look at issei.
" Oh and what's that?" asked Issei, looking at luna.
" I kinda always wanted to see the pyramids and I wouldn't mind visiting Britain to see where some of my family is from." replied Luna with an exhausted smile.
" That sounds like a good idea." said issei with his own smile.
" Another good idea would be me laying down and taking….. A ….. Little… nap." said Luna as her head slowly lowered with every word until her head was on issei's shoulder dead asleep.
" you know…. I … would … agree." said issei as his own head lowered as he fell asleep with his own head on top of luna's.
' Congratulations partner, you are on the road to healing your heart. And thank you young miss. I hope you will help him in the future.' thought draig to himself after witnessing the site. Draig was about to take a nap himself when he quickly turned his head around and looked around the mindscape he shared with issei.
' thought i saw something. Must just be his aura acting up' thought draig as he too fell asleep.
