A/N (NEW) (Old A/N at the end)

It's been a year more or less since the last update and I have no excuse, just really lost inspiration in writing this and to be honest I kind of forgot about this for a while, only remembered about this when I got an email notification that somebody has just followed my story. So here is a chapter, can't really say that there would be a regular update schedule but please bear with me. Also please do leave a review since it's a big source of inspiration and validity that people actually like what I'm writing. Enjoy the chapter!

Year 848

Ilse Lagnar's POV

There were times in my life in which I would curse my training in the cadet corps, those were times were I knew that my body was still physically tired but I would still wake up in the same time in the morning due to the hellish training, and so despite my mental protest my body started moving on its own accord, a result of a three year long habit from my training days. The first thing that I felt was the warm dampness, the kind that you feel when you're inside of a sauna for too long, which was where my thought first went when I came to but it was the darkness of my surroundings that reminded me of what has happened before I lost consciousness, "Two talking titans, one after another" were on my mind whenI tried to move but my body felt too heavy and numb to properly work, it took minutes unsuccessfully trying to get any feeling back into my body that my sense of touch started working. That I felt solid rock beneath me was a relief that lead me to let out a huge sigh, a few more minutes and I was finally able to sit myself up.

I looked around and was pleasantly surprised that I did not woke up inside a titan. At first I thought that I was found by my fellow Survey Corps members and that I was finally rescued, but looking around me I noticed that I was inside a cave and I am completely alone and lacking a fire despite the dampness of the temperature.

That was when I noticed that one of the cave walls was not a cave wall but the back of a titan instead, its natural body heat being a substitute for the heat given by a campfire. But all that information came to me later in when I was calm and collected, because all that I was doing then was struggling not to scream and run away, I briefly considered attacking the titan but the fact that its only the back of it that I could see and not the nape, attacking it now would be very detrimental to my health.

Slowly and silently as possible, I tried to move further into the cave hoping to find another exit that would lead me away from the abnormal titan, because what else could it be? It more or less "saved" me from the other talking titan and when I passed out instead of eating me it placed me inside a cave and covered the entrance which indicates intelligence.

My musing was cut short by a sharp cry of pain which to my horror came out of my mouth, looking around it turned out that whilst using the wall of the cave to guide me, I placed my hand on a particularly sharp rock leading me to produce the sound that may or may not have doomed me.

I held my breath as I wait for the titan to move and finally end me but nothing happened. There was a running theory that some titans stop moving at night but that was mostly just a rumor that I am not willing betting my life on proving if it has any truth to it, maybe someday in a faraway vantage point but not then when there was a titan not far from me. Celebrating my luck, I took another step backwards and immediately tripped on a loose stone and this time the sound I made was loud enough that I could feel the titan starting to move. Checking if I have any weapons I remember that I stupidly left all of my extra blades when my ODM gear got ruined leaving me with nothing but a hunting knife strapped to my thigh, it's not much but I could throw it into its eye as a distraction and use that to run away.

With titan now active, I started to mentally prepare my escape plan: wait for it to show its face, throw knife at the eye then us the distraction to run. Not much of a plan but that's all I could do then.

Markus's POV

Turns out that I do not need to sleep like most pure titans, but the night still affects me in some ways, in particular it lead to me moving considerably slower. Found out the hard way when at some time in the middle of the night I heard a shout inside the cave. Fearing for the worse I started to move to look inside the cave when the moment that I finished turning and that I was finally able to look into the cave when I was hit by something in my eye. The shock of the hit had caused me to let out a roar and due to my partially blinded state I was only able to catch a glimpse of something running out of the cave, it was only due to the footprints that was left that I knew that it was Ilse that ran out of the cave and was the same one that threw something that hit me in the eye. Despite the few seconds head start that she had on me I was still a 14 meter titan which gives me a larger reach that lets me cover distance faster than her on foot.

I was running in the same direction of the footprints when I finally caught sight of her, given that I was a giant running at around she have would have already heard mem which would explain why she suddenly started swerving in a serpentine manner, probably hoping to confuse me and make it harder for her to be caught, unfortunately for her I wasn't a dumb titan so I upped my speed and ran parallel to her and used my longer arms to grab her.

She was too focused on swerving and looking in front for any roots or branches that might impede her that she didn't have time to react and was promptly caught into my outstretched hand. I bought her up close to my face and she understandably started struggling. I was in something of a petty mood due the thing that she threw to my eye earlier so I bought her up close to my mouth and roared directly into her, not a load roar though since I needed her to be able to hear the words that I was going to say but before I could even say anything she started hurling insults at me with a look of utter hatred and fury in her face. The look she gave me caught me so of guard that for a moment I forgot that I was looking at Ilse Lagnar: Survey Corps soldier and not Rachel Miller: Resident Sunshine and my best friend. The look that she gave me hurt so much that my body unconsciously gave out a quiet whimper. She must have heard it because she stopped cursing and yelling and looked at me with wide eyes, I tried to hide it and pretend that it was merely a coincidence that I immediately started talking.

"Outside dangerous" I grunt my throat still not used to forming words "You stay inside cave, cave safe"

Without any warning I started walking back inside the cave while she started struggling again although this time it's less energetic which was understandable as she must be really tired as she must've not eaten anything since she was separated from her allies. Maybe I could find a deer or other animal for her to eat come morning, got to find something to close of the cave first though.

A/N (OLD)

So just like I said in the last chapter, I have no plot. Like literally. The only semblance of plot that this fiction has in the one that was written on the summary so please be patient with me and maybe continue watching reading this train wreck
