This chapter things get a lil steamy so be warned.
Enjoy!
Nessie and I ran through the forest together, the trees and foliage flying by us. She looked so beautiful when she ran. Her small body moving so gracefully. Her long hair billowed behind her, flowing in the wind. And her face was upturned, basking in the cool night air. The moon illuminated her skin. She didn't glow as much as in the sunlight, but I was stunned all the same. She looked so wild out here and it made me fervent with desire.
She was radiant.
I don't know what I did to deserve her, but I'm so grateful the universe brought us together. I didn't realize how much my life was lacking color until Nessie came along, painting all the corners I had left blank. She brought me to life, her smile, her laugh, her kindness, her strength. Everything about her made me want to live to the fullest. She gave me a reason to make the most of life.
She trusted me with her most vulnerable insecurities and I protected them with my heart, helping her see how truly wonderful and amazing she is.
I barked, notifying that we were close, and I was going to shift back to human. She hung back while I tugged on my shorts, but I could still see her pale form glowing in the distance. Nessie was practically vibrating with excitement when I stepped through the trees towards her.
"Please tell me what we're doing out here."
"For the last time it's a surprise!" I chuckled, guiding her by the shoulders. "Now close your eyes or I won't show you anything."
"Jake!" She whined but still put her hands over her eyes. "This better be good!"
"No peeking, alright." I checked over her shoulder to make sure she couldn't see. I grabbed her elbow, guiding her through the forest. The sound of the water got closer and closer, and it only took a few more minutes until the trees broke, revealing the coastline.
"Alright, you can open your eyes now." I told her, letting go of her arm.
She pulled her hands away from her face, eyes still scrunched closed, an impish smile on her lips. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I'm sure." Wasn't she the one begging me to tell her the surprise two seconds ago?
"Ok, I'm opening." She announced, blinking open those beautiful brown eyes to look around.
On one side of the clearing was the ocean, dark and tranquil, the moon dancing across the surface. On the other side was a cabin. It was small and archaic but had good bones. It had clearly been abandoned at some point but was now in the process of being renovated and repaired by someone.
That someone being me.
"I know it doesn't look like much, but I wanted to show you the before." I stepped around her, gauging her reaction. "I bought this place a couple years ago and you should have seen it, it was a total mess… Well, more of a mess than it is now."
"I've been slowly renovating it. Like really, really slow. It's kind of been on the backburner since I've opened the auto shop, but I got it for cheap. It was a really good deal." She didn't say anything, her eyes wide as she took in all the details. I was nervous, so I just kept talking, word vomiting about the house. "I already replaced the porch and fixed the roof. I had to clear the pathways, which were super overgrown. I'm still missing most of the interior, including plumbing, electricity, and stuff."
Her face was blank, I couldn't tell what she was thinking. I wanted to press her hand to my face so I could see what was inside her mind, but I held off. I'll find out soon enough.
"Do you want to go inside and take a look?" I asked her hesitantly.
She nodded and I took her hand, walking her inside. I let her go so she could explore the interior, looking at me questioningly when she saw the mattress on the floor in the living room.
"I sleep here sometimes." I explained, "I would spend whole weekends working on the house and I needed a place to crash."
Nessie nodded in understanding, walking around and looking through the windows, touching certain walls, and peeking in different rooms to see inside. She still hadn't said anything, and my heartrate was increasing the longer she stayed silent. It was so unlike her, I figured she was keeping quiet because she hated it.
"I know what you're thinking, it's a piece of junk, but I think it will be worth a lot more once it's renovated." I said as she walked around the bare kitchen area, her footsteps echoing around the empty house. "I had originally bought it with the intention of moving out of Billy's when it was ready. But now, since I plan on moving close to you, once I finish fixing it up, I'm going to sell it."
"No!" She cried out suddenly, whipping her body around.
What the fuck.
Did she not want me to move closer to her? I thought this was what she wanted? What we planned. The mere thought of spending even another day apart from her was impossible. I thought she wanted to spend forever with me. What the fuck do I do? What do I say?
"Don't you dare sell this house, Jacob Black." She looked at me seriously, her eyebrows knitted together and dark eyes blazing. "This is where we're going to live one day and if you sell it, then I will never speak to you again."
I stared at her in disbelief, my mouth hanging open like an idiot. This girl was going to be the death of me. "Are you serious?" I asked, dumbfounded. "You want to live here? With me?"
"Yes, of course, dummy. Why, would you prefer I live here with someone else?"
"Hell no!" She's mine.
She laughed, throwing her head back. "I love it. Of course, there's some things that I want to change before we move in." She jumped around the room, making pointers. "If we can knock down this wall to open up the space. And we could make these windows bigger, that would let in more light, it would be a lot nicer for my plants. Maybe a little cat or doggy door here for Mango to come in and out. Oh! And…" She continued talking, describing the house she wanted us to build together.
I felt a rush of adoration for her. I just showed her the biggest piece of crap and she was already turning it into a home for us. I couldn't help myself, the words falling out of my mouth without thinking.
"I love you."
Nessie froze, looking at me bewildered. "What?"
"I said, I love you, Renesmee Carlie Cullen." I repeated myself, not breaking eye contact as I slowly stepped forward. She stared back at me, frozen and dumbstruck. "I'm in love with you. I've been in love with you from the moment I first saw you," I stopped in front of her, my fingers caressing her cheek. "And I will always love you."
Tears spilled from her eyes, and I quickly wiped them away, smearing them back with my thumbs. I could hear her heartbeat fluttering even faster as she slowly placed one hand on my bare chest, right over my own heart. She looked up at me, her beautiful eyes sparkling, the most stunning smile on her face. "I love you too, Jacob." She whispered. "With all of me."
I wasted no time capturing her lips between mine, consummating our love with a kiss. I devoured her like I was starving for a taste, which I was. Our mouths moved in synch, pushing and pulling against each other. Nessie let out a small sound of surprise when I softly sucked on her bottom lip, which only egged me on. She opened her warm mouth, thrusting her tongue into mine.
My hands carded through her hair, my fingers easily running through the glossy strands, gently holding on for leverage. Her curls were so soft, like liquid silk. I've never felt anything like it in my life. The kiss deepened, and we moved closer together, her breasts pressed up against me. It lit a fire inside of me, making me feral.
I needed her.
I pulled her up and Nessie jumped with the movement, wrapping her legs around my waist. The second she opened her thighs, her arousal hit me like a train. It was so intoxicating. I remembered the first time I smelled it, laying on the couch with her, back in her apartment in Chicago. It almost killed me to hold back then. But now I couldn't help myself, I grabbed her ass and squeezed, causing her to moan into my mouth. All this friction and heat between us was causing me to sweat and my dick to pound.
I was trying to take things slow with Nessie. She was inexperienced and I wasn't. I didn't want to take advantage of the fact that I was much older than her, and had done this before many, many times. She deserved to be romanced, not humped like a dog because I was horny.
But damn, was it hard.
"Jacob." She whined. "I need you."
Me too, Ness. "Are you sure?"
"Yes." She said breathlessly, kissing and sucking on my neck. "Please."
Without thinking, I carried her over to the mattress on the floor. But just as I was about to deposit her on it, I turned around and threw myself back against it. It was an old cushion and kind of gross; she didn't need to be touching that.
Nessie was on top of me, straddling my hard-on. It wasn't enough contact to satisfy me, but sufficient to make me desperate. I grabbed her ass again to grind myself against her core, eliciting another cry from her. She immediately thrusted against me, her sweet body dragging along my length.
I was losing control. Her smell, her heat, her taste. It was all too much. One of my hands pressed against her bare back where her shirt was lifted, guiding her body against mine. All of a sudden, Nessie broke the pace and stopped to wriggle her hips against mine, grinding into me. She grabbed my face, intensifying our kiss as her hands sent a message straight to my brain: Make love to me.
"Ness." I groaned, breaking away from the kiss. My pants were so tight it was hard to think. "I don't have a condom, and besides, it's too soon."
"It's not!" She insisted. "And we don't need a condom, I'm on birth control."
"Really?" I thought she was a virgin, why would she need birth control.
"Yeah, it's to help regulate my periods. Stuff you wouldn't understand. It's safe."
"We can't."
"Please, Jacob." She begged, batting her lashes and bringing her palm to my cheek again. I could feel all her emotions in that moment. All the love and lust and desire rushing through her. "Love me."
That did it. I wouldn't have sex with her yet, but I couldn't deny her anything. Especially what she needed, and she clearly needed this. So, I was going to take care of her.
I lifted Nessie up, instructing her to take off her pants. As she unbuttoned her jeans and shrugged off her jacket, I undid the clasp of her bra from underneath her shirt, struggling to pull it out from beneath her top. Once she was just in her underwear and t-shirt, I pulled her back in my lap, continuing our movements. This time, even the material of my cut-off's couldn't block Nessie's warmth. I could feel all of her.
My hand moved up to cup her breast, kneading it through her shirt. It was supple and soft in my palm now that she wasn't wearing a bra. Her nipples pebbled up and I rubbed one through the cotton, softly pinching her. She whined, throwing her head back and worked herself harder against me.
"Is this alright? Are you ok?"
She nodded desperately; her beautiful face scrunched up with need. "Yes, more."
The hand on her chest shoved under her shirt and closed around it again, playing with her bare breast. The skin here was noticeably warmer. I kissed down her neck and chest, my lips closing around the opposite peak through her shirt. The fabric covering her skin was annoying, but it stayed there as a reminder. I couldn't go too far.
As I sucked on her, my other hand pushed between us, cupping her through her panties. She was soaked. I could feel the wet heat radiating off her, could practically feel her pulse through her sex. My middle finger moved back and forth along her lips, sliding in between them.
She gasped, "Yes!"
I teased her through the cotton of her underwear, skimming over her hot flesh. She smelled amazing and it grew more potent the longer I touched her. I had the uncontrollable urge to taste her. When I found her hard, little nub I rubbed around it, causing her body to go into a frenzy. She arched back, bucking her hips forward. I had to catch her with both my hands, simultaneously kissing further down her body and pulling her up to straddle my face.
I laid all the way down, so she was kneeling over me and curled my arms over her thighs, dragging her onto my mouth. I kissed the wet cotton of her panties, my tongue tasting the arousal there. She was delicious. Sweet and heady and perfect.
"God," I admired, kissing her through her soaked underwear. "Look at you."
"Jake!" She keened, begging me. Her palms pressed against the opposite wall to support her, arching her back. My God, the sight made me throb even harder. She was so fucking hot.
I used the flat of my tongue to pass over her a few times before flicking up to her clit and circling around it. Nessie was gasping and crying above me, letting me know I was on the right track. One of her hot, little hands grabbed onto my hair as she rode my mouth, her face a perfect expression of ecstasy.
I closed my lips around her and softly sucked, tugging her need into my mouth. I looked up to watch Nessie as I continued pleasing her. Her body was graceful as it rolled above me. Her shirt riding up, exposing her flat tummy and belly button. Perky breasts pushed out, her nipples firm, begging to be played with. She was hot and sweaty, hair sticking to her face, teeth biting her lip, and eyes squeezed closed.
She was a goddess.
"More, please." She whined brokenly. "I need more."
That I could do. I brought two fingers up to assist me, moving her panties aside so they could push into her. She was so wet and swollen she took them in easily. I curled them inside, rubbing that particular spot repeatedly. I was able to properly taste her now, my mouth on her bare skin, the little hairs above her slit tickling my nose. I broadened and recoiled my tongue, keeping a steady pace on her swollen nub. Nessie was absolutely a wreck now, her elbow and forehead pressed against the wall as one hand fondled her tits, pinching and pulling on her nipple.
"Jacob! Jake! Jake!" She cried out, tears rolling down her face. "I'm so close- I'm going to-"
I closed my lips again, softly sucking on her clit, giving her exactly what she needed to fall over the edge. I felt the exact moment she climaxed, her hand slapping against the wall as she tensed up. I continued my ministrations on her, using my strength to keep her pressed against my mouth, milking her for all she's worth. Her whole body shuddered, liquid gushing from her as my tongue lapped it up.
She slowly went boneless, her figure sagging against me. I shifted her down my body, bringing her to lay down with me as she quivered with aftershocks. Her legs were still trembling, so I tucked her underneath my chin, softly rubbing her back. I was still painfully hard, my was body begging me to unzip my pants and push into her. But this wasn't about me. All that mattered was that Nessie felt good. I gave her a few minutes to recover before I asked, "Are you ok?"
It took her a second to answer, "I think I just died and came back to life."
I chuckled, my chest rumbling against her cheek. "That good, huh?"
"Mhmm." She giggled, pressing her face into my skin. "So, so good."
"I'm glad."
As I laid there on top a dirty mattress on the floor, in a house that was falling apart, with a half-vampire woman in my arms, I felt more at peace ever before. She was the only person that truly mattered. My reason for living. My gravity. My Nessie. Nothing would ever separate us as long as I had something to say about it.
But there was still one thing bothering me. I had to tell her about Bella. I was planning on coming clean in Chicago, but when Bella unexpectedly called Nessie, and I thought for sure the cat was out of the bag. Luckily Nessie hadn't told her anything, and I had my chance to break the news but then she went into a speech about how she didn't want anything to complicate our relationship any further. I couldn't tell her after that.
I was a coward.
I had been biding my time, trying to find the right moment to confess. I know she wouldn't take it well, but it had to come from me. That was the only way.
"Hey, Ness." I broke the silence. "There's something I have to tell you."
All I heard was her breathing. "Ness?" I looked down, checking her face. She was asleep, softly snoring against me.
Great. Every time I'm ready to come clean, something always stops keeps me from doing it. I would tell her in the morning, and deal with the consequences. I would do anything for her forgiveness. Anything.
I settled back on the mattress, closing my eyes to get some sleep. But not before I kissed Nessie on the head, "Goodnight, Ness. I love you."
I dreamt of her, of course. Ever since I first saw her all I could dream about is her.
We were together on a porch swing, sitting outside the cabin; it was refurbished and looked completely different. It was our home.
Nessie was playing the guitar, singing a song. She sounded like an angel. I buried my face in her hair as I listened, inhaling her scent. It was so sweet.
Too sweet.
Suddenly it turned, and I burned like bleach. The sickingly sterile smell of a vampire.
I woke with a start, my skin crawling. I quickly moved Nessie off me as I jumped off the mattress. I sensed danger. My body trembled, my spine heating and tingling, ready to attack whatever was coming. Ready to defend Nessie.
"Jake?" She sat up, rubbing her eyes. "What happened?"
They were so quick I almost missed them, the white figure zooming in, descending on me. I growled, wanting nothing more than to phase and rip them to shreds, but unfortunately, I recognized this one.
Edward.
I don't think I've ever seen him look so angry. Even worse than when I kissed Bella and she broke her hand. But that was more of a quiet fury. Now he looked downright murderous.
"Dad!" Nessie jumped up from the bed, shoving on her jeans. "What are you doing here? How did you find us?"
"Renesmee…" He told her without breaking eye contact with me. "We've been looking for you."
"Why are you here? You should have called me!"
"We did!" He snapped his head to scowl at her. "But you weren't answering, and when we went to Chicago, you weren't there. You can imagine our surprise."
"Dad, please, can we go somewhere else to talk." She looked between me and him. "I can explain everything."
"No need to explain." He turned back to me, glaring daggers. "I think I've figured it out on my own."
Another figure whooshed inside the house, this one smaller and a little bit less familiar.
Bella.
Shit this couldn't be happening. Please, God tell me this is all some horrible dream.
I hardly recognized her. She looked completely different. More graceful and a lot more dangerous. She looked like a vampire.
I used to always figure that if I ever saw Bella again, it wouldn't be in the best of circumstances. I never could have imagined how bad the scenario would actually be. Caught in bed with her daughter, I felt like I was part of some weird, twisted soap opera.
"Edward. Calm down." She instructed, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Let's talk this out."
"Bella, this mongrel touched our daughter. He took her-"
"Dad!" Nessie screeched, her face tomato red. "You don't know what you're talking about."
I stood frozen in the same spot, my fists trembling. I tried desperately to calm down. I forgot how much hatred I use to have for him. The fact that he's Nessie's father was the only thing keeping me from ripping him apart. It would kill her if I hurt him. I had to keep reminding myself. You love her too much to hurt her.
Edward snarled, low and menacing. Whoops, I guess he heard that.
"Edward." I put both my hands up in a show of peace. "I can explain, if you would just listen-"
"Don't tell me to listen, you mutt!" He roared. "I can hear your thoughts loud and clear. The smell in here alone explains everything."
"Stop it!" Nessie screamed, her voice at its breaking point.
"Ok, ok." I tried to break the tension, Nessie was on the verge of tears, and I had to step in. "Look, I'm sorry that you found out this way, but this is not what you think is happening."
"You have no idea what I'm thinking." he hissed.
"Renesmee," Bella said calmly, looking to her daughter, and pointedly ignoring me. "Can you please explain what you're doing sleeping in an abandoned house with Jacob Black."
"Momma," Nessie pleaded, tears welling in her eyes. It broke my heart to see her so distressed. I have to do something; help make this easier for her. "I'm so sorry, I should have told you everything. Jake and I… well he's my…" She trailed off, losing her words, looking to me for support.
"She's my imprint." I announced, getting it right out there in the open. "We met over Thanksgiving break, that's when I imprinted on her. We've been seeing each other but decided we would wait to tell you anything yet." Bella and Edward froze. Both as still as statues. It was kind of freaky, actually. But I figured I should take this opportunity to keep talking, since I wasn't being interrupted.
"Listen, I love her, alright. And what you think that happened here, didn't happen. I would never take advantage of her like that. I know how weird this is for you, trust me, it was strange for me too at first, but none of that matters to me. All that matters is that Nessie is happy."
"Nessie?" Bella questioned, her eyes snapping to me. Gold, strange.
"Yeah, that's my nickname for her." I chuckled awkwardly. "Renesmee is kind of a mouthful."
"What a stupid-" She cut herself off, shaking her head in disbelief. "You imprinted? On my daughter?"
"Mom, we love each other." Nessie stepped in. "Dad will tell you, right Daddy?" She turned to Edward who still hadn't moved. Once his daughter called his name, he blinked, breaking out of his trance.
"Renesmee, do you know who this is?" His asked coolly, his composure back in place.
"Yes, Daddy. He's Billy Black's son, Momma's old friend, and a werewolf l. I know everything." She nodded, smiling softly at me. Despite the ball of anxiety growing in my chest, my heart still fluttered when I saw her smile.
"You don't know everything, Renesmee."
Edward don't do this. At least let me tell her. Please don't let her find out this way. I pleaded in my mind, hoping he would listen to me. Usually, I would never stoop so low as to beg a vampire, but this was Nessie. I couldn't allow anything to hurt her. Not even her father.
God, I am such a fucking idiot. I should have told her the first second I met her. I should have tracked down Edward and Bella and begged for their forgiveness. I should have never let things get so far tonight. I should have, I should have, I should have.
"Nessie, there's something I have to tell you."
"What?" She asked, eyes bouncing back and forth between the two of us. "What is it?"
Edward grimaced, whether at my thoughts or hers, I wasn't sure. He squeezed his eyes closed, as if he was in agony. Good, at least this would be painful for both of us. "Go ahead, Jacob. She deserves to know." He glided to Bella's side, putting an arm around her shoulder. He gave me a look that read: Hurt her and I'll rip you to shreds.
Edward moved to lead Bella out of the room, but she first she floated over to Nessie, hugging her close. "I love you so much, Renesmee. More than my own life."
Once they were gone, Nessie looked at me, her face pleading for an explanation. "What's going on, Jake? What's he talking about."
I committed her to memory in this moment. The moment before I drop a bombshell on her head. She was so gorgeous. Even now, hair wild, clothes disheveled, and tear tracks down her face.
My angel.
"Nessie. There's something that I still haven't told you about my past. Something I should have told you a long time ago. About me and your mom."
She didn't say anything, eyes wide and nodded her head, motioning for me to continue.
"When Bella first moved to Forks, I had a crush on her." I kept my eyes glued to her face, inspecting her reaction. "But she was dating your dad, so I respected that, and I never tried anything. That is, until he left." I paused, trying to get this all out. "Edward and the rest of the Cullens skipped town, leaving your mom in pretty bad shape. She wasn't doing well, and she needed help. So, I helped her. We spent a lot of time together and became very close."
I could see the dread filling her face as she slowly put the pieces together, coming to the right conclusion. "No." She whispered.
I continued, "Eventually, your dad came back, and he and Bella got back together. But the damage was already done. I had grown real feelings for her, and she for me."
"No." Nessie insisted, shaking her head while new tears fell.
"Yes." I nodded, pursing my lips. I forced myself to continue, I had to do this. She deserves to know the truth. "I was in love with Bella."
"No!" Nessie shook her head furiously, expression distraught. "No. My mother?" She asked incredulously.
"Yes, I know. But, Nessie, I don't have any feelings for her whatsoever. She means absolutely nothing to me. You're the only person I care about."
"I don't believe this." She cried. "What happened between the two of you?"
I sighed; this was going to be hard. "I tried to win her over, but it didn't work. She married your dad, had you, and left town. I never saw her again and I got over her. I moved on."
"B-but you loved her. So, what? You're using me until you could see her again? To get back at them?"
"No! Of course not! I would never do that! I don't love her; I only love you. Everything with Bella was a mistake. You're all that matters to me." I moved to comfort her, but Nessie took a step back, keeping her distance from me. It stung.
"So then why didn't you tell me?" She screamed, looking at me like I was a traitor.
And fuck, did I feel like one. I betrayed her trust. I betrayed my promise. I was supposed to protect her, and here I was hurting her. And her pain hurt me exponentially worse than anything else possibly could. The fact that I was causing it was only the cherry on top.
"Because I'm a coward." I admitted. "I didn't know how to tell you, so I avoided it. And by the time I was ready, you weren't, so I held off. I'm sorry, Renesmee. You don't know how sorry I am that I kept this from you."
She laughed in disbelief, "You're sorry? You forgot to mention that you and my mom were in love and you're sorry? From the very begging, you lied!"
"I'm so sorry Ness, but I need you to understand, the only woman I love is standing right in front of me. I've never, and could never, feel for anyone the way I feel for you. You are my life."
"I can't believe I trusted you!" She cried, her face angry and betrayed. "I'm so stupid!"
"Nessie, you mean everything to me!"
"Don't yell at me!" She yelled back, her small body angry and ferocious.
"Renesmee." I took a deep breath. "I'm sorry, but I think we both need to calm down."
"Calm down? You expect me to calm down?" She shouted, "How about I go and screw your dad and then we'll see how calm you are!"
Gross. I know that she's just angry and saying things, but that put a nasty image in my head. "Ok, I'm sorry."
"Did anything else happen between the two of you? Did you bring her back to your house and fuck her too?" I winced at her words. I had never heard Nessie curse like that before.
"No!" I shook my head vigorously. "God, No. Nothing like that ever happened."
"Really?"
"Well… we did kiss. Twice." No sense in lying to her.
I watched as her face turned from fury to hurt to disgust. Suddenly she turned and ran from the room, bolting for the front door. I chased after her, diving to my knees to pull her hair back as she retched in the closest bush. Bella and Edward followed close behind, watching her in distress. Nessie dry heaved for a couple seconds afterwards before falling back on her butt, putting her head between her knees. I knew I should give her space, but I was really itching to pull her into my arms and hold her close.
I don't care if I have to apologize for the rest of my life, I would do it just to hold her again.
"Ness, you ok?"
"No." She groaned. "I'm not ok." Bella came and cradled her daughter against her chest, murmuring in her hair. I could hear her whispering 'It's true, baby.' And 'there are no feelings anymore'. That gave me a sliver of hope.
"I understand if you need time, Ness. I can give you all the time in the world. But, please, you need to know that I didn't mean to keep this from you for this long. And I never, ever meant to hurt you."
"Jacob." Edward stepped forward. "Maybe it's time you give Renesmee some space."
"Please, give me a second." I pleaded. "I just need another second with her."
Nessie slowly stood up, placing her hand against Bella's skin. She must have sent her a message because Bella soon retreated. She stood back with Edward, watching us in solemn silence. Renesmee had fresh tears in her eyes, her beautiful face twisted in anguish. "Jacob," she said my name so heartbrokenly, so crushed, it killed me inside. "This is too much… It's too bizarre. I can't."
"Renesmee," I breathed in shakily, trying not to panic. "I will do anything, anything, to prove to you. Whatever you need, I will do it. Please, don't go."
She looked pained, quietly whispering. "Did you tell her the same thing?"
I was at a loss for words. It was difficult recalling the time when I was in love with Bella. The things I thought, the things I said, the things I did. I never wanted to remember any of it. I had made an assortment of promises and professions of love to her back then, begging her to choose me. All for nothing.
When I didn't say anything straightaway, she closed her eyes, shaking her head slowly. "I'm sorry Jacob, goodbye."
Oh fuck.
"Please Nessie, listen to me, when you-"
"No!" She shouted. "I don't want to hear you anymore. Just leave me alone!" She turned to walk away.
"But we can work this out. I can't lose you!" I grabbed her wrist. I wasn't thinking clearly anymore, my body kicked into survivor mode, doing anything to make her stay. Before I knew it, her hand swung back and slapped me hard across the face, my head recoiling back from the shock. I felt like I had just been hit by a bus.
Damn she slaps hard.
"Nessie!" I yelled after her as she ran away, disappearing through the trees. Just as I was about to phase and go after her, Bella flew in front of me, blocking my way.
"Woah, Jacob, slow down. You need to stop. Take a minute"
"Get out of my way, Bella." I growled, trying to move around her, but she was fast. "Let me go!"
"No! You need to calm down. You're in no condition to talk to her right now."
Some distant part of my mind knew she was right. But the dominate part, the one that controlled all thought and emotion could only repeat one thing: Nessie, Nessie, Nessie. Find her. Go to her.
"Jacob." Bella said softly, soothingly. "Don't worry about her. Edward will make sure she's alright. We would never let anything happen to her."
I felt all the strength in my body give out as I fell to the ground, catching myself with my hands. My life was crumbling around me. Without her, it was pointless.
"Fuck." I moaned, my forehead pressing against the wet earth as tears spilled from my eyes. I couldn't believe it.
I just lost the love of my life.
Here's chapter 8! I haven't gotten any feedback from the last two chapters so I'm not sure if you guys are still enjoying it. I just started school again today so I'll try to update as much as possible.
