Roxanne and the other Spoonerville College cheerleaders had been very busy with their cheerleading this college year. They had been cheerleading for every sport events and other cheerleading events at Spoonerville College and at other colleges and universities for away matches and at every cheerleading competitions and other cheerleading events. Their hard work had paid off because they won many cheerleading awards and titles and made their reputation higher than it had ever been, even becoming one of the very best colleges for cheerleading not just in the USA, but also in the whole wide world. But there was one cheerleading event they still needed to face before the college year was over – the Cheerleader Goddess Awards.

For those who don't know what the Cheerleader Goddess Awards are, let me explain. Every year, cheerleading scouts would go to places and events that include cheerleaders and judge them while they would do their cheerleading business and then they would choose what they would think are the best ten cheerleading teams from elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, colleges/universities and even non-school cheerleader squads not just in the United States of America but all over the world. Then the chosen teams would go to Mouseton Stadium, where the main event is held every year, and they would compete against each certain type of school team or non-school team and the winning team of each section would get a Cheerleader Goddess Award for each category. And there is no silver award for second nor bronze award for third. The winning teams takes it all. The elementary school cheerleading teams always went on to compete first, then it was the middle school teams next, then followed by the high school teams, then followed by the college/university teams and then finally the non-school cheerleader squads.

This year it was the twenty fifth Cheerleader Goddess Awards and the cheerleading judges for this year were friends of my dad, Minnie Mouse, Daisy Duck and Clarabelle Cow.

This year was very special for Spoonerville College because it was the very first time they had ever been nominated to compete in the Cheerleader Goddess Awards, so everyone was incredibly honored to do it. Everyone, except Roxanne. She was glad like all her cheerleading friends that they had been nominated to take part in this very special event that every serious cheerleader would die to take part in, but she was feeling very nervous. Since this was the one of the important cheerleading awards in the whole wide world, she felt very worried and she felt like she couldn't do it and she felt like leaving, despite her cheerleading friends insisting that they couldn't do it without her, not because she was just a team member but because of her amazing cheerleading skills and dedicated passion about it. She did stay, thanks to me, whom I went to watch and support her. Her boyfriend Nathan couldn't go to watch and support her because he had urgent family matters to attend to.

"I'm sorry, Max, but I just can't do," Roxanne told me. "If I stay here and go out there with my friends, I'll only let them down and make us all nothing but jokes to the whole wide world of cheerleading."

"You won't, Roxanne," I told her. "In fact, you will let your cheerleading friends down if you leave now. You guys are here, thanks to you. They wouldn't have made it if it weren't for your incredible talent and dedicated passion. Not every cheerleader in the world gets to do this and every cheerleader would die for this chance, so don't let throw it away. Don't throw in the towel now and don't sneeze at this amazing opportunity. If you don't go out there and do it to the very best of your ability, you will regret it for the rest of your life."

That made Roxanne more confident. Then she smiled. "Okay, Max. I'll do it. I'll go out there and do it to the very best of my ability."

"Yeah, that's the spirit, Roxanne," I said.

"I'm really glad you're here," Roxanne said.

Those words she said made me feel very happy.

"All right, ladies, gentlemen and cheerleaders!" Daisy Duck cried. "It's time to find out who the best cheerleaders are. Elementary cheerleaders, get ready."

Then Roxanne and I went back to the event.

Then the event began. The elementary school cheerleaders went on first. It was all ten teams for the first round. Then for the second round, seven remained. Then for the third round, five remained. Then for the fourth round, three remained. Then for the final round, the last two remained and it was St. Canard Elementary School that won the Elementary School Cheerleader Goddess Award.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, please give it up for the incredible St. Canard Elementary School!" Minnie said to the audience, as she awarded the trophy to the school's cheerleading coaches.

We all applauded them for their success.

Then it was time for the middle school cheerleading teams to go on next. They did exactly the same as the elementary school did. They started off with ten teams and then only two teams remained for the fifth and final round. It was Duckberg Middle School that won the Middle School Cheerleader Goddess Award.

"How about that?" Daisy said to the audience, as she gave the award to the school's cheerleading coaches. "Give it up for these amazing talented cheerleaders!"

We all cheered them for the hard work.

Next, came the high school cheerleading teams. It was Mouseton High School that won the High School Cheerleader Goddess Award and it was Clarabelle who gave the school's cheerleading coaches the award. "Well, come on!" she said to the audience. "Where's your applause for these awesome ladies?"

We all cheered them for their victory.

Then it was finally time for the college cheerleading teams to go on. I told Roxanne 'good show' and she thanked me. Then she and her friends went on and did their awesome cheerleading. They made it to the finale round and had only to compete against the Duckberg College cheerleaders. And our college cheerleading team won the College/University Cheerleader Goddess Award!

I never doubted our cheerleading team was very talented, but even I couldn't believe they won. Not only was it the first time that cheerleaders from our college took part in this challenge, but they also won it. It was an amazing and significant achievement. And Minnie, Daisy and Clarabelle together gave the award to our college cheerleading coaches.

Roxanne ran to me and hugged me. "Did you see that, Max? Did you see us?"

"I did, Roxanne. You guys were incredible, especially you."

"Well, I couldn't have done it without you."

"But I didn't do anything. It was you and your friends that did it. It was you guys that worked very hard and showed off your incredible cheerleading talents."

Roxanne laughed. "Of course you helped me, Max. It was you who encouraged me to go to the college gym to work out to keep myself fit and healthy for my cheerleading. It was you who motivated me to get through my first cheerleading event at the first football game of this year. And today it was you who helped me to work up the courage to go through this challenge. And also you came to see me do and that helped me a lot. If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't have gone through it and I would have regretted it for the rest of my life, so thank you, Max."

"No problem, Roxanne."

Then it was the non-school cheerleading teams turn to do their challenge and it was the Mouseton Cheerleaders team that won the Cheerleader Goddess Award.

Then the winning teams of each category had their photos taken with Minnie, Daisy and Clarabelle. Then we all celebrated with the party hosted by the cheerleading judges.
