Why did Geralt ever invoke the Law of Surprise while at the palace in Cintra? In my opinion, based on my understanding of the rest of canon, it was out of character for him. This is my attempt to answer that question in a way that meshes with the lore.

This collection of short stories explores the concept of a female witcher, Corrie. Each book is essentially a quest broken up into chapters, ie adventures starting with the first quest, The Beast That Howl, and as the stories continue we will see her journey get darker and heavier.

What could he want?
