Then, Loke really looked at Lucy. He looked at the blonde female in front of him, dressed in his typical jeans and t-shirt. But weeks of being with the female made him notice how the female's hair was well-brushed. Her wearing was blue top white skirt . She was pristine-clean. And then, then Loke saw it.
He saw a single red rose in Lucy's hand.
Loke blinked before he realized something very important. He thought very hard, his brain rummaging through everything-all the dates when he realized exactly what day it was today.
Lucy slammed the rose into his chest, surprising the female (because while Loke slid back a foot, he didn't fly through the wall) and the female pushed past Loke to leave through the door.
"Hey"
"Happy anniversary," Lucy snapped back.
Loke blinked in surprise and then felt his eyes narrow before he grabbed the female's wrist.
When Lucy didn't break his arm, Loke figured that the female didn't want to leave either.
(He wanted to be stopped. He wanted to
"Don't go," she whispered softly. "It's too cold."
Loke stiffened, probably ready to rip out of his grip and snap his arm in the process, so Loke moved closer to hug the female from behind.
"I'm make it up to you," he responded back, hands slowly gripping Lucy's arms. He leaned around the female, always surprised at how much smaller the female was, letting his voice whisper against his ear.
(It always bothered him that Lucy was so skinny. her man was all energy.)
"Don't go,."
And when Loke didn't leave, and instead, held onto him , and Loke really find himself to be surprised that Lucy really liked it when Loke did these kinds of romantic gestures.
They found themselves on the couch after their silent, tiny amount of chinese take-out dinner, and sat on opposite ends of the couch.
(Loke was the one who ordered the Chinese take-out, upon realizing that Lucy hadn't eaten anything yet. And Lucy gave it (and him) a look, but ate it without complaining. For whatever reason, he was standing next to the oven when Loke made the call though.)
"You can come sit closer to me, you know," Loke commented, trying to say it offhandedly.
Lucy grunted in return, but didn't do anything.
Loke sighed a little to himself and kept his eyes on the tv screen, where they calmly watched movies together (it was their special thing, but that was another story for another time).
As he was beginning to doze off, however, Lucy reached over and grabbed his hand.
(When had the female moved so that they were sitting right next to each other?)
Ah, Loke thought as he watched the really bad graphics on the screen and the stench of Japanese food flooded their compartment. He squeezed the warm hand in his a little tighter, and turned his head to see Lucy watching the TV. Then the female turned to face him instead.
"What?"
Without really thinking, Loke just leaned over and kissed the female. And when Lucy kissed back, he was pretty certain that he really wouldn't mind if he spent the rest of his days like this.
(With Lucy.)
Loke pushed Lucy against the wall of their home, pressing fully against the female, even if that meant he had to lift Lucy a little bit off the ground.
(It wasn't like he was heavy or anything.)
The sounds, the soft sounds, that Lucy made next to his ear was driving him crazy though.
"It's special," Lucy panted out and Loke stopped his assault on his neck for a brief moment to register what he was saying before he went back to his meal.
(Because nothing tasted better than Lucy.)
"Really?" he asked licking slow trails from Lucy's ear down his neck.
(A part of his stomach tightened at the thought of Lucy being with another person, making him bite down harder and grind their two bodies closer together.)
"B-because it's you," Lucy said, breathlessly, trying hard to focus a little despite all of the attention focused on him.
Loke completely stopped, moving to stare Lucy right in the eyes. The younger looked a little confused (and definitely unhappy that they stopped), still panting hard as he met Loke's eyes with the same ferocity as he did when he fought and Loke gritted his teeth.
This was so unfair.
Lucy could always get him riled up like this and he was terrible about this whole relationship business-
But when Lucy reached up to connect their lips again, Loke swore to redeem himself again.
Loke's eyes looked at Lucy once more, appreciating the sight of the younger female being caught underneath him. He reached over and pulled the shirt off the female with relative ease, going a little more slower as they finally reached the bed.
His eyes caught onto a scar, almost a stab wound that ran right above his heart. It looked pretty recent.
"What happened here?" He asked, fingers gently tracing it. Lucy stifled a gasp and took a moment to try and form coherent thoughts and words.
"oh doesn't get how to hold back," Lucy explained easily, after taking a look at the scars (he was so used to getting injured, after all).
Loke, for a terrifying moment, thought about Lucy not waking up in the mornings and kissed him again.
"Loke..." Lucy panted back. "My Love. I'm fine-"
"I love you," Loke said instead. And when he stared at Lucy's shocked eyes, wondered why he was so surprised.
(He was such a shitty boyfriend afterall0if Lucy looked that surprised about him saying it-)
The female leaned up, "I know," he whispered back against his lips before kissing them again.
"Please don't leave me," Loke said pathetically.
(He was so lame-so uncool. Why did Lucy stay with him again?)
There was many implications from those four words, and Lucy was known to be a little more oblivious than the rest.
But when Lucy kissed him again and pushed him over so that Lucy was straddling him, Loke was pretty sure that he chose the right one.
"You're such an idiot," Lucy said, panting a little as he grinned down at the female. "There's no where else I want to be except by your side."
He would be lying if Loke said that he didn't fall in love with Lucy a little more from that sentence.
(Lucy stayed because he loved Loke-just as much as Loke loved him.)
Loke stared at the oven, the next morning, and saw spaghetti.
"What the hell is this?" he demanded from Lucy, who came down into the kitchen moments later.
The younger female looked away, "It-it's nothing-"
"Did you make dinner last night?" Loke asked instead.
Lucy looked away, and when he was moving to leave, Loke grabbed him and pushed him against the wall. Because Lucy didn't eat because he was waiting for him. Because Loke was an ass and brought home Chinese food instead. Because Loke, despite all of his stupidity, really did love Lucy. And Lucy loved him, too.
"W-What the hell are you-"
Loke kissed him instead. "Shut up," he said, kissing him again, because now he was feeling awful but he felt so loved.
(Lucy was waiting for him when he came in a couple hours late. Lucy had cooked him food and got flowers and-)
(And Loke forgot.)
"I love you," he whispered against Lucy's lips, almost desperately. "I love you."
And when Lucy whispered back, "I know. I love you too," Loke came to the very quick realization that the person who really loved romantic gestures in this relationship wasn't Lucy.
It was him.
