"This was a horrible idea to come here...and I heavily regret agreeing to join you." Visenya quietly scolded Jon, as they all were still in the Dragon Pit discussing the meeting that occured.
"I am sorry to bring you here, but I thought you'd like to speak with your sister." He began.
She rolled her eyes before glancing to Daenerys who was in deep conversation with Olenna.
"The last time my sister and I spoke, it didn't end well." She groaned, crossing her arms. That's when she noticed Jon's longing look toward Daenerys. She frowned. "What did she promise you?"
"That the North would remain independent if she ended up ruling." He explained.
She shook her head. "I don't believe a word that comes out of her mouth...she's lying. She told me she wants to rule all of The Seven Kingdoms. From Winterfell to Dorne."
Jon scoffed in disbelief. "I'm sure she didn't mean it, she seemed like she didn't want the Iron Throne."
"Are you sure we spoke to the same person?" She asked in disbelief. "Or are you that blinded by her?"
"What do you mean?"He frowned.
Visenya scoffed. "You are a man grown, how is it that you can be so short-sighted?"
"I am not short sighted, nor am I blinded by her." He protested. "She is a wonderful person."
"Have you told her that you are our nephew?" She asked, with a stern expression.
He simply looked down at his feet on the ground.
"I want to..."He began.
Her expression grew angrier by the second. "You didn't tell her? Why?"
He shrugged. "I do not want the throne...I am not the challenge."
Just as he turned to walk away, she forcefully grabbed his wrist. Her blue eyes staring daggers into his soul, anger coming through.
"You are the challenge!" She demanded. "You are the challenge, Aegon!"
"That's not my name." He protested.
"You are Aegon Targaryen, whether you like it or not!" She practically snapped.
He released his wrist from her. "Just because I am a Targaryen, and you are now my Aunt, does not make you in charge of me."
"Which Targaryen Queen will you pledge the North for?" She asked, knowing that based upon this entire conversation, he'd choose her sister.
He was quiet for a few moments as he looked her up and down.
"I haven't decided yet." He coldly replied before walking away from Visenya and over to Sandor and Theon, who were engaging in a conversation.
"You alright?" Jaime asked as he walked up to Visenya.
She shrugged, still keeping her eyes on Jon. "I don't know."
Across the Dragon Pit, Daenerys who was now eyeing her sister and Jaime, frowning at how physically close the man was to her. That's when she noticed the two swords Visenya had.
"What are those, Ser Davos?" Daenerys asked with a frown as she gestured to the sword on Visenya's back and at her waist.
"I believe the one on her back is Dawn, the sword of House Dayne, and the one at her waist is called Dark Sister." Davos explained.
Daenerys snapped her head to the older man. "Dark Sister? The sword of Visenya the Dowager Queen...my brother told me that it's believed to have been lost for centuries."
Davos shook his head. "Your uncle, Aemon, a Maester of the Night's Watch kept it safe. On his death bed, he gave it to your sister, saying she was worthy to wield it. Ashara Dayne, gave her Dawn, also on the mentality that she was worthy to wield it."
Daenerys felt her blood boil upon seeing her sister with two of the most famed and dangerous swords in all of Westeros. Her blood boiled even more upon seeing how she interacted with Jaime. She frowned in confusion.
Why was she close to the man who killed their father?
"Does she know how our brother died?" She asked the older man.
"Rhaegar or Viserys?" Davos questioned.
"Viserys." Daenerys sighed.
"I believe not." He said with a sigh.
Daenerys nodded before walking away from the older man, and venturing off to speak to her older sister. Visenya, noticing Daenerys was coming, shrugged Jaime off, as she turned to face her sister.
"Sister." Daenerys said cordially. "I am going to see my dragons, would you like to come? I am sure yours are with mine."
Visenya, who was taken aback by how pleasant her younger sister was being, gave her a small nod, before following her younger sister out of the Dragon Pit. Still unsure of her motives, Visenya kept her guard up, as she didn't fully trust her.
The silence that was between the two of them was extremely awkward, as neither knew what to say to the other. Daenerys was the first to break the silence.
"You look lovely." She said with a small smile.
Visenya gave her a small smile back as they continued to walk. "As do you."
Silence fell over the two again, as they continued to walk. Almost like it was a sibling instinct, Visenya asked the question she had been wondering since they first met, and after she had intercepted the raven letter from Jorah Mormont all of those years ago.
"What happened to Viserys?" She asked calmly. "I intercepted a raven years ago that said he perished."
Daenerys sighed. "He always blamed me for being on the run...and killing our mother."
"I am sure he didn't mean it." Visenya said getting a small smile on her face. "Viserys used to look out for me when we were children. I have so many fond memories of us playing around the dragon skulls that were in the throne room. He helped me with my High Valyrian, and he taught me every dragon and Valyrian God."
Daenerys frowned to herself. Of course her older sister had a better relationship with her brother than she did. Her sister had everything. A family, a home. But what Daenerys didn't realize was that Visenya felt betrayed by her mother and brother, as she was left behind at the request of her father, and forbidden to go to Dragonstone.
"Our brother was a cruel man." Daenerys sternly replied, glancing to her sister. "He was vile, and sadistic, and from what I heard of our father, he was exactly like him. He thought he was invincible, and he always viewed me as a piece of property...constantly blaming my existence for all of the pain in our family. He arranged my marriage to Khal Drogo...and even then he thought of himself as a King."
"It must've been painful to endure." Visenya sighed, not knowing how to respond to all that Daenerys told her.
"There were times when he was like how you speak of him...but those only occurred after he received what he wanted." Daenerys continued. "Truthfully, the day he lost all of his kindness, was the day he sold our mother's crown to feed me."
Visenya's eyes widened, as she felt tears come to her eyes. She remembered that crown. She remembered her mother wearing that crown. She remembered how beautiful she looked in it. How intricate the crown was. How remarkable it was. After hearing everything from what Daenerys told her...she felt like her heart was breaking.
She loved her mother, and she loved Viserys, and to hear that this is what happened to them...she felt like her heart was breaking into a million pieces.
"My husband killed him, thankfully." Daenerys sighed. "A well-deserving death."
Visenya didn't reply as they approached the dragons.
"I thought you had three of them." She began as she walked up to Aegonar.
"I did...the Night King killed Viserion...I named him after Viserys." She explained before pointing to the green and black dragons. "These are Rhaegal and Drogon."
Visenya nodded to the dragons looking them over, as Aegonar nuzzled her.
"Nyke ȳdra daor raqagon ziry kesīr. (I don't like it here either.)" Visenya softly spoke to her sapphire dragon.
"They can understand all of your Valyrian?" Daenerys frowned. "Viserys said they only understood commands."
Visenya shook her head, as Sunspear, who now leaned her head down, began to nuzzle her just like Aegonar.
"They understand it." She explained, petting both the Sapphire and Gold dragons. "They are remarkable."
Daenerys didn't reply but looked at how her sister treated her dragons. So similar to how she treated her own dragons.
"Drakari pykiros, tīkummo jemiros." Visenya began to sing, singing the song Rhaegar taught her all those years ago, and since she started singing it to her dragons, they loved it as well. "Yn lantyz bartossa, saelot vāedis. Hen ñuhā elēnī, perzyssy vestretis. Se gēlȳn irūdaks. Ānogrose."
Daenerys frowned in confusion, before looking to Drogon and Rhaegal, who almost became entranced by her sister's voice. She had a distant memory of the song, as when Viserys was kind, he use to sing it to her when she would fall asleep, but she never remembered the words.
She was surprised her sister did.
"Perzyro udrȳssi, ezīmptos laehossi. Hārossa letagon, aōt vāedan."Visenya continued to sing."Hae mērot gierūli, se hāros bartossi. Prūmȳsa sōvīli, gevī dāerī."
No sooner she finished singing, both Rhaegal and Drogon, lowered their heads towards her, allowing for her to reach out to pet them. Daenerys was in shock. Rhaegal and Drogon, never let anyone touch them...other than Daenerys.
So for them to let Visenya touch them...they must've really been drawn to her voice. Visenya then turned back to her sister, before gesturing for them to head back to the Dragon Pit. Silence filled the two of them again as they walked back, and no sooner they did, they separated once again, with Visenya going to one side, and Daenerys going to the other.
While they had a moment of where they could be like sisters, no sooner they returned to reality, they became against each other again.
"Where did you go?" Jaime asked, taking Visenya's right hand in his left.
She shook him off, no sooner she caught Tyrion and Cersei walking towards them out of the corner of her eye.
"I'll tell you later." She sighed turning to face the two individuals, as everyone else did the same.
Cersei's entire delegation followed her, making Visenya frown in confusion...something was either wrong or going extremely well.
"My armies will not stand down. I will not pull them back to the capital. I will march them north to fight alongside you in the Great War. The darkness is coming for us all. We'll face it together. And when the Great War is over, perhaps you'll remember I chose to help with no promises or assurances from any of you. I expect not." Cersei explained to the group. "Call our banners. All of them."
Daenerys smiled as she stepped forward to accept Cersei's decree, but Visenya stayed behind. She didn't move from her spot, but she watched the others nod to Cersei in admiration. Visenya had known Cersei well enough to know that Cersei was lying. She looked to Olenna, who gave her a nod in response.
Both of them could tell Cersei was lying.
Once Cersei and her party had left, Jon walked up to Visenya.
"We will meet you back in Winterfell." He explained. "We are heading to Dragonstone, then will venture North...we will see you there."
Visenya nodded to her nephew, watching him walk away, still disgusted at how he's letting her sister manipulate him. She shook those thoughts out of her head as her party began to exit as well. Once they were all on their galley, heading back to Winterfell, that's when Visenya informed them about Viserys, but also how she believed that Jon was being manipulated by Daenerys.
"Has he laid with a woman before?" Bronn asked with honesty.
"How am I supposed to know that?" Visenya frowned in annoyance.
Bronn shrugged. "Just a question."
"Based upon his reactions around your sister, probably not." Olenna scoffed. "Blinded by beauty, such an imbecile."
"That's not what I'm concerned about." Visenya countered, before looking to Olenna. "You and I both know that Cersei is lying."
"How can you both tell?" Jaime frowned.
Visenya narrowed her eyes and looked at him with annoyance. Olenna and Bronn did the same.
"Are you the only one who didn't notice it?" Olenna frowned.
He looked down at his feet making Olenna shake her head in annoyance.
"We need to act quickly. If Cersei is not sending her forces North, that means she is doing it to weaken all of us, so she can easily destroy us." Olenna explained. "We an easily outsmart Cersei...it's not that hard. The woman thinks she's smarter than she actually is."
Visenya turned to Jaime. "You need to call your bannermen."
"I can't do that...Cersei probably is writing to them saying to not go North." He sighed.
She rolled her eyes in annoyance and Olenna began to rub her temples.
Bronn groaned. "Do you listen to the words that come out of your mouth sometimes...because sometimes you make no sense."
"Either write to them, or I will go to each of them on Dragonback and reason with them." Visenya sighed. "Either way we are getting them to the North."
Jaime sighed before gesturing to Bronn for him to help write to the banners. Once they both left, Olenna turned to Visenya.
"You married an idiot." Olenna scolded.
"I know." She nodded with honesty.
"You had a child with an idiot." Olenna continued.
Visenya smirked in amusement. "Let's hope she doesn't inherit her father's stupidity."
"Or your stubbornness." Olenna countered with a smirk, and Visenya nodded knowing that the statements the older woman had made were 100% true.
