Why do I keep fighting?

That was just one of the many questions Jaune Arc was asking himself as he fell from the golden bridge that was supposed to take him to Vacuo. He didn't see a reason to keep fighting anymore. Now it wasn't that he didn't have the will to fight... It was that he didn't see a point to it anymore.

All this suffering, all of this death, all of this destruction... All of this because of evil witch could not get a happily ever after! He didn't know where he was falling towards, and he didn't care. He was tired... And just wanted everything to be back to normal.

Jaune wanted to be back at Beacon Academy. He wanted to be with his friends again, learning to be huntsman so that they could protect people. When he first entered the academy with the barely legal transcripts he acquired, he knew it was not going to be an easy path he stepped forth towards, but he never imagined this.

He was no hero... He didn't have the power to save people. He was a dreamer who saw the harsh reality of the world, and it was not a pretty sight.

He lost the girl he was closest to who he figured out and loved him like a man far too late. He lost his best friend just moments ago when she fell into the void like he was doing right now. He had to kill a brave hero who would rather have been dead than allowing her power to fall into the hands of a false maiden.

He killed Penny Polendina... And despite the fact she had asked him to do it, the guilt with no less any better. He knew only a handful of people were to blame for all of this, but he didn't have the power to stop.

Why would he even stop them at this point when he had nothing left to fight for! He clearly lost the battle, and without team RWBY... How was the rest of the world going to win the war!

If only a handful of vile people could do all of this destruction, he could only imagine how much more powerful the one true Mastermind behind all of this was. He tried to fight against her, but he was taken down with one hit... And she didn't even break a sweat. She didn't even consider him a threat.

That what's the difference in power... It was like a normal man standing against a giant!

'Why am I still fighting... So many people have been killed... Atlas and Mantle are gone... So many people don't have a home anymore just because of a handful of evil people... Ironwood let his fears overcome him, and ultimately, he failed. What can an idiot like me do... I am no hero... I'm just a loser who thought he could be more than what he was.' Jaune thought to himself, wondering where this void was going to take him.

He failed to meet up with the others in Vacuo... He was sure the people were going to be safe with Winter now that she acquired more power. But how on Remnant was he supposed to keep going now that he had lost so many friends. He wasn't sure if Ruby, Weiss, Blake, or Yang were even alive at this point... He can only hope that they were somewhere where they would be safe.

But him, where was he supposed to go! He wasn't the main character of a story. He was a side character at most... It was a painful realization when he realized that, since he always dreamed of living up to his family's legacy.

Now, it feels like none of it matters since the real threat didn't even look at him like he was anything. He still remembers her cold gaze when she shot him with her magic... He still remembers the stinging feeling of the magic shipping away at his aura for a few seconds before it was depleted. He was no match for her, but he wishes he could be!

There were a lot of things he wished for... He wishes Pyrrha was still alive... He wishes Penny was still alive... He wishes he could have stopped the destruction of Beacon Academy... And he especially wishes that he could have stopped that evil b word from taking Pyrrha and causing so much destruction just because she wanted power.

He wishes he could start again.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?"said a voice that Jaune did not recognize.

He quickly realized in that moment that he stopped falling as soon as those words were heard. He looked around and realized he was on some kind of platform made out of what appeared to be a light construct, a golden light construct.

"You are an individual who has lost everything, and you seem willing to pay almost any price to get it back?"said the similar voice from before, causing the blonde young man to turn back to see someone standing there on the platform with him.

Just in front of him was an individual with no facial features as it appeared his whole body was made out of green light, with white glowing eyes. The only thing that Jaune could recognize was the suit he was wearing, which looked like it was extremely expensive. It was a white suit with everything you would expect a rich man to wear, including an under jacket and what a beard to be a solid gold pocket watch in his suit pocket. He also I had on black dress shoes that look like they were made up the finest leather. He was also wearing black leather gloves that look like they were made of the finest leather as well.

"Who are you?"the natural blonde inquired.

"I go by many names, but most of them are too hard for your human tongue to pronounce. For the sake of simplicity, you can call me Chris."said the individual who identified himself as Chris.

"What do you want from me?!"Jaune asked, as he was too exhausted and mentally fatigued to be afraid at that moment.

Normally, he would feel inadequate from the sheer amount of pressure this strange individual called Chris was giving off. It was clear to the young man that this was no human, faunus, or any sentient animal from Remnant. It was clear he was dealing with some being from the realm of the Divine.

"I'm here to offer you a deal."said Chris before he began approaching Jaune.

"Stay back!"the young man shouted, pulling out his sword when he said that.

Chris meanwhile appeared to smile with his non-existent face before he snapped his fingers. As soon as the finger snap could be heard, Crocea Mors disappeared like it was never there in the first place.

"What the?"Jaune said before he found his whole body surrounded by green light and found himself floating in mid-air.

"You have guts pointing a sword towards me, I'll give you that. It actually makes me more interested in you."said Chris with what appeared to be a smirk even though his head was a light construct.

"If you're going to kill me, then do it! I don't care anymore."said Jaune, as at this point he had no reason left to fight.

Ruby was gone...Pyrrha was gone... Even Penny was gone. It was like nothing mattered anymore, too... At least as far as he was concerned.

"Ruby Rose and her allies live... They just got sent to somewhere where the beginning of Remnant first began."said Chris ominously, making the young man wonder what he meant by that.

"If you're not here to kill me, then why are you here?"Jaune inquired, feeling much better now that the news that Ruby and the others were alive made him feel better.

"Like I stated earlier. I am here to make a deal."said Chris before he Jaune down.

"I don't make deals with things I don't understand."said Jaune as he felt that this guy was very fishy.

"You have good instincts. Clearly, the Atlas Ace Ops have trained you well. But that's not important right now."said Chris as he began walking around Jaune, like he was studying him.

"Jaune Arc; age 19. A former first-year student of Beacon Academy, who got into the school through less than legal means. You are the youngest of eight children, consisting of you and seven sisters. You and your sister Saffron Cotta Arc are the only ones who live away from home. The reason you became a huntsman was because of your family's legacy, but your parents would not allow you to go down that path. So you decided to do it anyway. That takes real cojones for a weakling like you, and that's something I like about you. A true underdog."said Chris, making the young man wonder if he was mocking him or praising him.

"How do you know so much?"Jaune couldn't help but inquire, wondering how this guy knew so much.

"I know pretty much everything about you. Or at least the things that interest me. I know you were particularly close to three girls in your life, but one was not interested in you, one you loved as a friend, and the funnel one had feelings for you for a long time and you didn't realize it until she sacrificed herself."said Chris, making Jaune feel real low in that moment.

"Now I'm not saying this to make you feel down. I'm actually here to give you a chance to begin again. I do you have the power to control time, which includes putting someone at a certain point in time, like your first day at Beacon Academy."said Chris, who was using keywords to get the attention of the natural blonde.

"Are you saying that you can send me back to the day I first entered Beacon Academy? Are you saying you can send me back before that b word and her cronies ruined everything? Are you saying I get a chance to save Pyrrha!"Jaune inquired with enthusiasm.

"Yes to all three of those questions."Chris answered smugly.

"Then please do it! I want to go back and save all those people before any of this happens! I don't want to live in this time where I killed Penny! I just want to live my old school days with my friends again!"said Jaune while grabbing on to Chris's suit.

"Now hold your horses. I never said it was for free."said Chris while snapping his finger, which teleported the young man off of him.

He then snapped his other finger to unwrinkle his suit, something Jaune had accidentally done in his eagerness to go back to the past.

Jaune meanwhile wondered what happened to him before he looked over at Chris, and a realization came over him.

"You're not going to ask for my mortal soul, are you?"Jaune inquired with a bit of fear in his voice, as he wasn't so sure he wanted to sell his soul to this unknown individual.

"I'm not a demon! I don't want your mortal soul! But I do want something else."said Chris, clarifying that he wasn't here to take his soul

"Then what is it! Name your price!"said Jaune, who in that moment was willing to give an arm and a leg if it meant saving everyone.

"Entertainment."Chris answered a second later.

"Excuse me?"Jaune couldn't help but ask.

"I am a being with a lot of power, but the one thing I can do is entertain myself. So, I regularly look up underdogs and see their stories. I saw how your story was going to progress from here, and I must say it left a sour taste in my non-existent mouth. So I decided to change it up a bit. Jaune Arc, I will give you the power to go back to your first day at Beacon, but you will have to entertain me. Now, I don't mean juggling or trying to tell a bad joke. Think of it more along the lines of a magic quest."said Chris, just as the young man in front of him stood up.

"A magic quest?"Jaune inquired.

"You've heard of the Multiverse, haven't you?"Chris inquired, knowing that this geek must have heard of it.

"I have... It's the theory worth for every decision. There's a world where that decision didn't happen."said Jaune, who's seen enough Sci-Fi movies to know about that.

"Well, spoiler alert, the Multiverse is real. And I plan to send you the world I have chosen to go on a magic quest for the sole purpose of entertaining me."said Chris, making Jaune look at him with a confused look.

Surely he wasn't serious... That's what the young man thought.

"I'm sorry, but can you repeat what you just said to me?"Jaune couldn't help but inquire.

"I said it clearly. I am going to send you to different worlds throughout the Multiverse I have chosen for you for the sole purpose of you entertaining me."said Chris, who appeared hating repeating himself.

"WHAT?!"was the only natural reaction the young man could have.

"What's the big deal? You go on the epic quest that I've pre-chosen, and all you have to do is complete them. Now it will take you some time, but time is clearly something you have. All you have to do is do things like assemble an ultimate team of Pokemon, learned under The Dark Knight, befriend a family that is notoriously loud, go on a magic quest with talking ponies, fight in an intergalactic war, and a bunch of stuff I'm not going to bother saying right now."said Chris, as Jaune couldn't believe what he was hearing at that moment.

"I'm not some action figure you can mess around with!"said Jaune, who did not like being screwed around with.

Especially by someone who clearly had more power than him!

"Of course you're not an action figure I possess... I still have not acquired that one."said Chris under his breath so Jaune could not hear him.

"What did you say?"Jaune inquired, as he didn't hear what Chris said under his breath.

"Nothing! Now, think of this as a way to level up as these worlds are way more powerful than yours, but you'll have a chance to grow properly! You can gather new powers, abilities, weapons, and, more importantly, allies to help you fight the war against that evil witch. I know you're still feeling the sting of defeat from the last encounter you had with her. To her, you were nothing more than an ant that she could easily step on."said Chris, reminding the young man of his earlier encounter with the queen of the Grimm.

"Yes, I haven't forgotten..."said Jaune begrudgingly.

"Now consider these other worlds training ground for the proper training you really should have received when you were young. Now I'm not going to lie. Some of these worlds are a lot harder than the ones you're used to, but I promise you it will all be worth it in the end. Plus, you get a chance to save your beloved and your best friend, so isn't this all worth it in the end! Now, do we have a deal or not?"Chris inquired while extending his hand.

'I don't know if I want to take a deal with this guy. On one hand, everything he said sounds super sweet, but I have no reason to trust him. Ahh, this is all too complicated, and I hate it! Why can't this guy give me an easier decision to make! I don't know how much patience he has with me, but I have a feeling that this deal is a limited time offer. Should I just venture into the unknown, what should I allow myself to fall and see where this place takes me. No... If there was any truth to what he said, what is waiting for me if I fall is probably a fate worse than death. Plus, if there's anything a slim chance of saving Pyrrha and the others... Then I got to take it!' thought Jaune before taking a deep breath to calm himself down.

He then took a step forward towards Chris and grabbed his hand. He then proceeded to shake it.

"You have a deal..."Jaune said, is resolved, trying it's best not to waiver.

"Good!"said Chris with excitement, happy that the young man went along with the deal.

"Now to send you on your way to your first world! The world I have chosen for you first is the world of Pokemon! Now I'm either going to send you to Galar or Paldea... I still have not decided on which one. Either way, I expect you to assemble an ultimate team of Pokemon! I want you to have the best pokémon the world has to offer, so do your best to earn their trust and make sure they always have your back. Now I know you don't have any idea of what I'm talking about, but you are willing about 3 seconds."said Chris nonchalantly as he created a comfy looking sofa that he quickly sat on.

"What do you mean by that?"Jaune inquired, wondering what he meant by that.

"3..."said Chris nonchalantly.

"Hey, this isn't funny!"said Jaune, who was starting to sweat bullets.

"2..."said Chris nonchalantly.

"Hey! At least tell me a bit about this world before you send me!"said Jaune, who did not want to go to that other world without knowing anything.

"You will learn about it in due time. Now...1!"said Chris before he's not his fingers, causing the floor underneath Jaune to give out.

"Ahhhhhh...!"screamed Jaune as he fell through the void, only to land inside a white portal.

"I really hope he survives this quest I sent him on. Otherwise, I won't have any entertainment."said Chris nonchalantly before he teleported to who knows where.

Jaune, on the other hand, found himself landing in a green field next to what looked like a little town. He didn't know it at the time, but he had just landed in the world of Pokemon!

Now, the only question is what Pokemon was he going to encounter on his first step on this quest to go back to his first day at Beacon!

There is only one way to find out!

I have decided to write this story because I've noticed how popular my Arkham Batman's Redemption story is getting. So I decided to make another story of another underdog I'm very fond of, and that's Jaune Arc of RWBY.

In the next chapter, he will either be in Galar or Paldea. Now, if I go with Galar, I won't give him any of the starter Pokemon. There are so many amazing Pokemon in the world of Galar, so I'm not going to go with any of the starters. The same goes for Paldea. Now I have nothing against the starter Pokemon. In fact, I love them. But I feel like the story will be more interesting if he didn't use a starter pokémon that a person gets when they start the game.

I'm thinking his Ultimate Team will consist of three normal Pokemon that are good with battling and three legendary Pokemon. I'm still deciding on the teams, so if you have any suggestions, feel free to leave a comment or send me a message.

I'm really excited about this story as I really wanted to be one of the best stories I've ever written. Hope to get a lot of support for this story.

And I hope to get a lot of comments from you, the fans. Constructive criticism is appreciated since it will help me improve as a writer. Again, if you have any questions or if you want to make suggestions, leave a comment or send me a private message.

I'll try my best to respond unless it's a troll... So don't bother leaving anything if you're a troll! I won't answer at all! But for the rest of you who are not trolls, I welcome any constructive criticism or suggestions.

Hope the story gets a lot of appreciation.

The next chapter will be out in a few days, so stay tuned in the meantime by following the story or following me. Either way is fine. Please give me a lot of support.

That is pretty much everything I have to say, so have a great rest of the day, everyone and sayonara for now.

I own nothing !
