CH. 1 'It apparently wasn't that serious' OR 'It sucks, but don't take it personally, okay?'

"Who is that?" Yuji asked, nodding his head to a shapely woman with deep auburn colored hair talking to Mei Mei near a wall.

Megumi glanced up briefly "Her? That's Rinami Senju. She's a Grade 1 Sorceror who graduated from Tokyo Jujutsu High years ago, she works out at the Kyoto school now." Megumi paused and looked from Yuji to Nobara. "She also happens to be Gojo's ex."

The look on Yuji and Nobara's face was priceless.

"Wha-?" They both screeched.

"You mean someone actually seriously dated that idiot?" Nobara asked, her jaw agape.

"Yep." Megumi answered, his focus now back on the somen he had been eating. "From what I understand it was ages ago and it didn't end well." He stopped mid-bite and looked up in contemplation. "Not really surprising considering we are talking about Gojo…"

"Did I hear my name?" Suddenly Gojo popped up between the three of them, a huge smile on his face, causing Megumi to drop his chopsticks, his face draining of color, and Nobara and Yuji to jump backwards.

Gojo laughed heartily. "What're you three talking about?"

"Nothing much" Megumi mumbled, picking up his chopsticks and wiping them off.

"About your ex girlfriend!" Yuji interjected. "Is it true that's her over there? She's hot!"

Megumi shot him a death glare. Yuji ignored it, while Nobara leaned in, desperate to hear Gojo's answer. Gojo turned to look at the woman, his smile slipped briefly, and then he shrugged. "Yeah I guess you could say that."

The woman-who had turned towards them- saw Gojo, and the pleasant look on her face instantly changed to one of unbridled disgust, which she clearly made no attempt to hide. She walked stiffly over, with Mei Mei smiling cheerfully, leading the way.

"Ah Gojo! So good to see you!" Mei Mei called, her purple eyes twinkling in delight. The other woman swiftly cut her deep gold eyes sharply at Mei Mei in a look that made it known that she was well aware of the other woman's dramatic intentions.

Gojo smiled brightly and flicked his wrist in a short wave. "Hey Mei Mei! Rin! It's been awhile. Good to see you, Hooow ya beeeen?"

The woman turned cold eyes to him. "Gojo." It was her only acknowledgment of him before her eyes moved to scan Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara. Warmth overcame her face as she presented the three of them with a genuine smile. "Fushiguro, so good to see you once again. You two must be the other new first years?"

"Sure are!" Gojo piped in "You already know Megumi, but let me introduce you to Itadori Yuji and Kugisaki Nobara!" The woman quickly cut her eyes to Gojo and then back to the three students, again smiling at them.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, I am Senju Rinami, though I just go by Rina, or you'll notice my close friends call me Rin."

Gojo interjected "Rin is a –"

"Gojo can refer to me as Rinami, thank you." She didn't bother to turn to him as she said this, but her tone was firm.

Gojo made a face behind her back and then cleared his throat. "So sorry. Ms. Rinami here works out of the Kyoto Sister School, but she actually started here at Tokyo Jujutsu High."

"Oh! Did you attend with Gojo and Nanami?" Yuji asked.

Rinami's smile stiffened. "I did. I was a year behind Gojo and in the same class as Nanami."

"Ah…" Yuji said, putting his hand on his chin in thought. "That must be when you and Gojo dated…"

Megumi smacked his forehead with his hand.

"You idiot!" Nobara hissed.

Rinami stiffened and her face became serious. "Dated?" She raised an eyebrow.

"Yeah!" continued Yuji, completely oblivious. "He's your ex, right?"

Megumi groaned, and Nobara kicked Yuji in the leg.

Rinami turned to look at Gojo, who was scratching the back of his head and apparently looking at imaginary birds in the sky. Mei Mei, who had been enjoying the entire encounter from the side, raised her hand to her mouth and snickered at the scene.

"No, 'Ex' isn't necessarily the word that I would use to describe Gojo. It apparently wasn't that serious, and I'll just leave it at that."

Rinami's smile returned as she tore her eyes from Gojo's blindfolded face.

"Anyways, it was great to meet you kids, I've heard great things about you all. Especially you Itadori -the kid who was once the vessel for Ryomen Sukuna! You're incredibly strong to have survived that. I'm sure you'll do great things."

"Thanks! It's great to meet you Rina-sensei!" Yuji exclaimed. He put his hand out to shake hers and was surprised when Rinami immediately backed away from him, and both Gojo and Mei Mei moved quickly to intercede between the two of them.

"Uh, did I do something wrong?"

Rinami gave him a kind smile, "No, Itadori. Don't worry, you did nothing wrong." She looked up towards Gojo. "I've got to run, but I'm sure Gojo will explain it to you."

She waved and turned to walk off with Mei Mei.

As she left, Gojo looked after them with a frown on his face. He then turned to his students, smiling wide. "Weeeell…that happened!"

"Wha-?" They exclaimed.

"Yeeeaah," said Megumi dryly. "You're gonna have to give us more than that."

Gojo pulled up a chair and sat backwards in it, resting his arms and chin across the back.

"Rinami has a special curse technique. It's an extremely rare one and very difficult to control. Her full technique is called the '6-Senses Technique." Gojo paused to make sure they were following.

"I've never heard of it before.." Megumi said, thinking hard on it.

"That's because it's almost 'non-existently' rare. Basically as rare as the 6-eyes or as the 10 shadows. No one knows where this particular technique originated though. It doesn't seem to be passed down from a particular clan, like ours. At least there's no other written record of anyone else in the Senju clan having it. Anyways, the 6-senses deals with sensory perception. It's somewhat simple and somewhat complicated. Everyone knows the 5 basic senses right?"

"Uh, Yep! I do, I do! " Yuji raised and waved his hand excitedly.

"Yes- Yuji!" Gojo jumped to his feet and dramatically pointed at Yuji.

Megumi and Nobara rolled their eyes at the two of them.

"Um, There's sound, taste, touch, sight, and… smell. Right?"

"You're….. right!" Gojo flashed him a bright smile followed by a peace sign.

"Ugh, okay. Get on with it." Megumi groaned.

"Anyways," Gojo sat and became serious again. "There is also a "Sixth" sense, some people call it ESP, some people call it a tingle or a vibe, but it's a perception or 'feeling' of sorts. Her technique includes this sense as well. The details of the technique aren't fully known, not even to Rinami herself. What we do know is that when her senses engage it can trigger her powers. Most of the time it's mild. Smells for example don't do much to her, some can give her mild visions or affect her head, but nothing too serious. Touch, however, has a major impact. It's been that way since she was a child and her technique first manifested."

Gojo paused and seemed lost in thought for a moment.

"It was actually really hard on her, even after she came to Jujutsu High. Essentially she can't have skin to skin contact with anyone without being overwhelmed by her own power. It seems to scramble her brain or something- if she was directly touched, she would have these fits, almost like seizures. Yaga and our principal at the time, tried everything to work with her to figure it out and control it, but ultimately we were never able to help her with it." Gojo looked uncharacteristically sad for a moment. Then, in typical Gojo fashion, his face jerked up with a huge grin.

"Except for yours truly of course! I was the only one who was able to interact directly with her. Because of the 'limitless' technique I was able to technically touch her without any ill impact to her. We trained together for a while and I thought we were actually making some progress. Had she been able to master it she would definitely be classified as a special grade sorcerer. Unfortunately, everything all kind of fell apart after Suguru…" Gojo's voice trailed off. "Never mind. Those are stories for another time. Point is- She can't touch other people! It sucks, but don't take it personally, okay? Okay. Now we've got work to do, so let's move out."

As Gojo ushered the three young sorcerers out, he found he had to fight to shake off the thoughts of the past that were now bubbling up in his memories. He also wanted to push out of his mind that diamond ring that he'd noticed on Rin's finger.
