The Power of Z-Moves
At Kahuna Hala's house, Lincoln was sitting in the living room, talking to his family and friends via video chat on his Rotom Phone, telling them about his day.
"Those Team Skull jerks should be glad I wasn't there when they were messing with you, or it would have been Camel Clutch City for them." said Lynn Jr.
"But it seemed Lincoln was able to take care of them." said Lisa.
"And at least he's okay." said Rita.
"Plus, I won some good money off of them." said Lincoln.
"Are you going to buy me something from the Alola Sunrise store?" asked Lola while giving Lincoln the puppy dog eyes.
"I'll stop by there after school tomorrow and I'll let you pick one accessory." said Lincoln.
"Well, it's better than nothing." said Lola.
"And I'm astounded by how Pokemon are able to evolve after short periods of time while it takes every other creature on Earth millenniums to do so." said Lisa.
"I think Pikachu was cuter when she was a Pichu." said Lola with a pout.
"I think Pikachu is plenty cute." said Leni.
"You also think there's a little man who lives in our refrigerator who turns the light on and off when you open and close the door." said Lola.
"One day I'll catch him!" said Leni. After Lincoln ends the call; he, Kahuna Hala, and Hau have dinner. Soon, night came, and everyone went to bed.
The next day, Lincoln gets up and has breakfast with Kahuna Hala and Hau.
"So, Lincoln; it's the weekend so there's no school today." said Hau. "What are you going to do?"
"Maybe I can go to that Alola Sunrise store and buy something for my sister, Lola." said Lincoln. "After that, maybe I can hang out on the beach."
"That sounds like a plan." said Kahuna Hala. As Lincoln ate, he looks at his Z-Ring with a look of curiosity on his face.
"So, I've been wondering, if I do somehow find one of those Z-Crystals I've heard about, how do I use it?" asked Lincoln. Kahuna Hala gives it some thought and has Lincoln follow him outside. When they leave the house, Lincoln sees that everyone seemed to be setting up tables and decorations. Lincoln and Kahuna Hala soon arrive at a clearing outside Iki Town.
"I'm going to show you how to use the power of a Z-Ring." said Kahuna Hala as he rolls up one of his sleeves, revealing a Z-Ring on his wrist.
"You have a Z-Ring?" asked Lincoln.
"I've had this for years." said Kahuna Hala. He then takes a pokeball out of his pocket and throws it, releasing a yellow, stout, humanoid Pokemon with black hands, orange circles on his cheeks, and a knot on top of its head. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Makuhita, the Guts Pokemon. It practices its slaps by repeatedly slapping tree trunks. It has been known to slap an Exeggutor and get flung away." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone. He reaches into one of his pockets and pulls out an orange, diamond-shaped crystal that had a symbol that looked like a fist in it.
"This is a Z-Crystal, Lincoln; or to be more specific, Fightinium-Z." said Kahuna Hala. He puts the Fightinium Z into his Z-Ring. "To activate it, you must do this specific pose." He holds out both fists forward, then he begins punching the air; as he does, energy is being channeled up from the ground into his body, surprising Lincoln.
"Whoa!" exclaimed Lincoln. Kahuna Hala throws one last punch and the energy in him was transferred into his Makuhita, making a symbol appear in front of it.
"Now for the Fightium-Z Crystal's Z-Move; All-Out Pummeling!" said Kahuna Hala. Makuhita begins punching the air, releasing a barrage of fist shaped energy from its fists and they hit a large rock, reducing it to rubble. Lincoln only looked in awe.
"Whoa; that was awesome!" said Lincoln. Kahuna Hala then returns his Makuhita to its pokeball.
"Several things you should know about using Z-Moves, Lincoln." said Kahuna Hala. "One, to use a Z-Crytsal, the Pokemon using its Z-Move must know a regular move of the same type as the Z-Crystal being used. Second, each Z-Crystal requires you to do a set of poses to help channel Z-Energy into the Pokemon; each type of Z-Crystal has a different set of poses. And a Z-Ring can only be used once per battle; it needs time to replenish its energies after each use."
"Where did you get your Z-Crystal?" asked Lincoln.
"I earned my first one when I was about your age against the former Melemele Island Kahuna." said Kahuna Hala. "Otherwise, I have a lot of Fightium-Z Crystals that I give to any Island Challengers who are able to defeat me."
"Island Challenger?" replied Lincoln.
"Have you heard about the Alola League?" asked Kahuna Hala.
"Yeah, I recall Hau mentioning it over a week ago." replied Lincoln.
"Island Challengers are trainers who travel the Alola Islands, completing trials in order to earn the right to participate in the Alola League." said Kahuna Hala.
"That sounds so exciting!" said Lincoln.
"And Island Challengers are usually awarded Z-Crystals for completing the trials as well." said Kahuna Hala.
"Do you think I can try doing those trials?" asked Lincoln.
"We'll see." said Kahuna Hala. "For now, let's head back to Iki Town." The two then head back to Iki Town. When they get there, Lincoln sees people still setting stuff up.
"What's going on here?" asked Lincoln.
"People are setting up for an annual festival that we have to pay tribute to Tapu Koko." said Kahuna Hala. "We have two trainers do a Pokemon battle for Tapu Koko to watch."
"Could I be one of the trainers?" asked Lincoln.
"I don't see why not." said Kahuna Hala. "The festival will be held tonight."
"Okay." said Lincoln. He then heads off towards Hau'oli City where he goes to the Alola Sunrise store. Once he gets there, he calls up his family and his dad answers.
"Hi, son!" said Lynn Sr.
"How are things in Alola?" asked Rita.
"Awesome!" said Lincoln. "Is Lola there? I'm at the Alola Sunrise store and I want her to pick an accessory for me to buy for her." Lynn Sr and Rita were immediately pushed aside by Lola who had an excited look on her face.
"I'm here, Linky!" said Lola. "Start showing me accessories and I'll let you know when I see one I would like." Lincoln then starts holding his Rotom Phone towards all the accessories and Lola picks the very first one he showed her. He purchases the item and sees he still has plenty of money after selling the pearl he found a while back, along with the money he won from his battles with Team Skull and decides to buy Lori and Leni each an accessory as well, which they happily accepted.
"Thanks, Linky!" said Leni.
"Hurry and send them to us!" said Lola. After Lincoln goes to the Hau'oli City Post Office and has the accessories sent to the Loud House, he tells his family about the festival that was happening tonight.
"I wish I was there." said Lana with a pout.
"Have fun at the festival, Lincoln." said Lynn Sr.
"I will, Dad." said Lincoln. He notices that Luan in the background, hauling a bag of garbage on her back. "What's Luan doing?" Lynn Sr and Rita look over at Luan with frowns, making Luan nervous.
"Since you're not here to do your garbage-collecting chore and that it's her fault you ended up there in Alola, despite the fact that it's nice there; we're making her take out the trash until you're back in Royal Woods, partly as a punishment for all the other over-the-top April Fools pranks she's done over the years we let her get away with." said Rita.
"So, take your time getting back here; we're enjoying seeing Luan getting what she deserves." said Lynn Jr.
"Wait! She's going to Lily and Lisa's room!" said Luna as she cups one of her ears in anticipation for something. Soon, a loud roar was heard from upstairs.
"Lisa, help! Trashy's got me again!" said Luan from upstairs. "Ewww! His breath smells like Lily's used diapers!"
"Well, that's what Trashy is partly made of." replied Lisa. Everyone else but Luan chuckles at this.
"Talk to you later everyone." said Lincoln. He ends the call and puts his Rotom Phone away.
Later on the Hau'oli City beach, Lincoln was lying on a beach towel, catching some rays while his Pokemon laid on the sand, sleeping.
"I can't wait for the festival tonight. I wonder what it'll be like? I hope I get to battle at it." said Lincoln. "I almost feel a little bad that I'm enjoying myself while Luan has to do my taking out the trash chore...Okay, so I lied." He chuckles to himself and kicks back and relax.
Back in Royal Woods, Luan was coming out of the bathroom after taking a twenty-minute hot shower to get the smell of Trashy off of her.
"Maybe I should've just rigged a bucket of syrup and feathers over Lincoln's door instead of mailing him off?" said Luan.
