Ride Pager and Ten Carat Hill

After everyone was done congratulating Lincoln on passing his Grand Trial, Kahuna Hala walks over to him.

"I'll need to put a stamp in your passport to indicate that you've successfully defeated me." said Kahuna Hala. Lincoln hands him his Trainer's Passport, and Kahuna Hala pulls a rubber stamp out of one of his pockets and puts a stamp on one of the pages, then hands it back to Lincoln.

"Yes!" said Lincoln.

"With that Melemele stamp on your Trainer's Passport, you have completed all the Melemele Island trials." said Kahuna Hala. "You need a stamp from the other three islands to compete in the Alola League."

"Okay, sir." said Lincoln.

"And I have something else for you, Lincoln." said Kahuna Hala. He then hands Lincoln a small, light green, device that had a small screen on it, as well as what looked like a crystal pokeball at the end of it.

"What's that?" asked Lincoln.

"It's a Ride Pager." said Kahuna Hala. "You can use it to call a Pokemon to ride on."

"Wow." said Lincoln. Just then, a large, orange brown, bull-like Pokemon with a mane of gray fur around its neck, plus three tails, runs towards Lincoln.

"Lincoln, look out!" said Lynn Sr from the Rotom Phone. Kahuna Hala runs into the Pokemon's path and stops it with his bare hands.

"Whoa." said Lynn Jr with awe in her voice.

"I've never seen a bull like that before." said Liam. Lincoln grabs the Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.

"Tauros, the Wild Bull Pokemon. They live in groups. The one with the longest, thickest, and most-scarred horns is the boss of the herd." said the Rotom Phone.

"Sorry about Tauros here, he tends to get overexcited sometimes." said Kahuna Hala.

"You know this Tauros?" asked Lincoln.

"Yes, I've known him for years." said Kahuna Hala. "He's always getting into trouble somehow. Anyway, you can call him with your Ride Pager so he can give you a ride."

"Is it safe?" asked Lincoln with a nervous tone of voice.

"Don't worry, he's fine with people riding him; and you're a kid, so you won't be so heavy." said Kahuna Hala. "Try calling him with your Ride Pager."

"Okay." said Lincoln. He looks at the Ride Pager's screen and sees a selection menu that only had Tauros on it; he pushes the icon of it and the Tauros in front of them disappears into the Ride Pager, then comes back out with some sort of saddle seat on it.

"Cool!" said Lana Loud.

"And just so you know, Tauros can easily break through large boulders that might get in your path as you travel the Alola Region." said Kahuna Hala. A thought then enters Professor Kukui's head.

"Lincoln, could you bring Tauros over by my place?" asked Professor Kukui.

"How come?" asked Lincoln.

"You'll see." said Professor Kukui. Not knowing what else to do, Lincoln hops onto Tauros' back.

"Can I ride with you, Lincoln?" asked Mallow.

"I don't see why not." said Lincoln. Mallow hops onto the Tauros and wraps her arms around Lincoln, making him blush a bit, his sisters back in Royal Woods giggle, and Ronnie Anne growl. Lincoln and his friends make their way towards Professor Kukui's lab. Along the way, Lincoln drops his Torracat, Rufflet, and Cottonee off at the Hau'oli City Pokemon Center to get them treated after their Grand Trial battle. They soon reach the shore area where Professor Kukui's lab is, and they see him near a bunch of boulders blocking what looked like a cave entrance.

"Over here, everyone." said Professor Kukui as he waves them over. The group goes over to him.

"What did you need Tauros for?" asked Lincoln. Professor Kukui looks at the boulders behind him.

"A while back when the road for Hau'oli City was under construction, there was a rockslide that blocked off the entrance to Ten Carat Hill." said Professor Kukui.

"Ten Carat Hill?" replied Lincoln.

"It's an area here that has Pokemon you haven't seen yet." said Professor Kukui.

"Cool!" said Lincoln.

"And I've heard there's a Z-Crystal at the farthest part of the tunnel as well." said Professor Kukui. "I was hoping you can use Tauros to clear these boulders out of the way."

"Sure, I wouldn't mind doing that, especially if there's a chance at getting another Z-Crystal." said Lincoln. "Okay, Tauros; break those boulders!" Tauros rears back and charges into the rocks, reducing them to gravel.

"Good work, Tauros." said Sophocles.

"Thanks, Tauros." said Professor Kukui. "There might be more boulders down the tunnel, so you might want to keep Tauros out for a while."

"Okay, Professor." said Lincoln. He and his friends then enter the cave to explore the area.

Inside the cave, Lincoln and his friends were walking down the cave, looking around. As they got further down the tunnel, Lincoln suddenly sees a Pokemon that looked like a gray rock with light blue crystals coming out of it floating by really quickly; clinging to it, while eating some of the crystals on it, was a purple, bipedal Pokemon that looked like it had jewels for eyes and a red jewel on its chest.

"What are those?" asked Lincoln as he takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the crystal covered Pokemon.

"Carbink, the Jewel Pokemon. Some say that deep beneath the surface of the world, a pack of Carbink live with their queen in a kingdom of jewels." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.

"Ooh, look at the pretty jewels." said Lola. "Catch that Pokemon for me, Lincoln!"

"Okay, okay." said Lincoln "But let me see what that other Pokemon is first." He points his Rotom Phone at the purple Pokemon.

"Sableye, the Darkness Pokemon. It digs through the ground with its hard claws and crunches down gems with its thick pointy teeth. Carbink is its favorite food." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.

"I'll stop that Sableye from completely devouring Carbink first, then I'll catch it for you." said Lincoln.

"Good idea." said Lola. Lincoln takes out his Rockruff's pokeball and releases him from it.

"Okay, Rockruff; use Rock Throw!" said Lincoln. Rockruff launches rocks out of the ones on his neck and they hit Sableye; it responds by lunging at Rockruff and repeatedly claws at him, not doing a lot of damage. "Now use Bite!" Rockruff runs at the Sableye and bites down on it, doing damage; Lincoln then takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Sableye, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.

"Yes! I caught Sableye!" said Lincoln.

"That was so amazing." said one of Lola's pageant friends.

"That pokeball is quite an interesting device." said one of Lisa's science colleagues.

"What's Sableye like?" asked Lana. Lincoln checks out his new Sableye's information on his Rotom Phone.

"This says it's a girl, she's part ghost type and part dark type, she knows Leer, Scratch, Foresight, Night Shade, Astonish, and Fury Swipes; and she has the Keen Eye ability which makes it so her accuracy can't be lowered." said Lincoln. Sableye's pokeball gets sent to storage.

"Lincoln; can we at the Morticians' Club have that Sableye?" asked Haiku. "Ghost and darkness are two of our favorite things; it would make a great mascot."

"I figured as much." said Lincoln. "I'll send it over next time I'm at a Pokemon Center."

"Thank you." said Haiku.

"Now for Carbink." said Lincoln. When he looks over at it, he sees it looked pretty worn out from its encounter with the Sableye.

"Looks pretty beat." said Lynn Jr.

"I guess getting eaten alive would have that effect on it." said Lori.

"I'll catch it now while it's tired." said Lincoln as he takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Carbink, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking. "I caught Carbink!"

"Great job, Lincoln." said Mallow. Carbink's pokeball gets transported to storage.

"After I get Carbink treated at a Pokemon Center, I'll send it over to you, Lola." said Lincoln.

"You better!" exclaimed Lola. Lincoln looks up Carbink's information on his Rotom Phone.

"This says Carbink doesn't have a gender, it knows Tackle, Harden, Rock Throw, Sharpen, and Smack Down; it has the Clear Body ability which makes it immune to moves that lowers its stats." said Lincoln. He returns Rockruff to his pokeball and the group continued walking down the cave. They came across another entrance and walked into it; they found themselves in an area surrounded by small hills and grassy fields.

"This place looks nice." said Lillie, looking around. Lincoln hears rustling coming from tall grass nearby; he looks to see a Machop walking out of it.

"A Machop! Catch it!" said Lynn Jr. Lincoln pulls out Pikachu's pokeball and throws it, releasing her from it.

"Pikachu, Thunder Shock!" said Lincoln. Pikachu releases electricity from her body and it hits Machop. Machop runs at Pikachu and karate chops her, knocking her back; static electricity covers Machop's body. "It's paralyzed. Pikachu, Quick Attack!" Pikachu runs at Machop with incredible speed and rams it, knocking it to the ground. Lincoln takes an empty pokeball from his backpack and throws it at Machop, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around until it clicked. "Yes! I caught Machop!" Machop's pokeball gets transported to storage; Lincoln returns Pikachu to her pokeball.

"You'll send that Machop to me, right?" asked Lynn Jr.

"Sure." replied Lincoln. He looks up Machop's information. "This says Machop's a boy, he knows Low Kick, Leer, Focus Energy, Karate Chop, Foresight, and Low Sweep; he has the No Guard ability which increases his accuracy."

"Bear!" said Lily. Lincoln looks to see a cream-colored, panda-like Pokemon with long ears, red spots all over its body, and spiraled eyes, walking and stumbling around. Lincoln points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon.

"Spinda, the Spot Panda Pokemon. Its steps are shaky and stumbling. Walking for a long time makes it feel sick." said the Rotom Phone. Lily giggles and claps at the Spinda.

"I think Lily likes that Pokemon." said Rita.

"Okay; I'll catch it for her." said Lincoln as he pulls out a pokeball. "Magikarp, go!" He throws Magikarp's pokeball and releases him. "Magikarp, Tackle!" Magikarp leaps at Spinda and rams into it, knocking it back. Spinda stumbles at Magikarp and rams him back. "Tackle one more time!" Magikarp rams Spinda, knocking it to the ground. Lincoln takes out another empty pokeball and throws it at Spinda, hitting it; it gets sucked into the pokeball and after it wiggled around, it clicks. "Lily, I just caught a Spinda."

"Yay." replied Lily. Spinda's pokeball gets transported to storage. Magikarp suddenly begins to glow.

"Magikarp's evolving!" said Lincoln.

"I hope it becomes something tougher." said Lynn Jr. Everyone watches as Magikarp begins to grow; when the glowing stopped, Magikarp was now serpent-like, he was blue with a yellow underbelly, a blue, three-pointed crest on his forehead, and an angry expression that was complimented by the mouth full of sharp teeth; he lets out a loud roar, scaring Lynn Sr into jumping behind the couch. Lincoln looks at his newly evolved Magikarp with awe as he points his Rotom Phone at it.

"Gyarados, the Atrocious Pokemon and the evolved form of Magikarp. It fires hyper beams in all directions, burning the surrounding area to ash. There are some regions where it's called "the deity of destruction." said the Rotom Phone.

"Whoa. People who insulted you when you were a Magikarp will definitely take back what they said if they see you now." said Lincoln. Gyarados and Lynn Jr nod in response. Lincoln looks at Gyarados' information on his Rotom Phone. "This says when you evolved, you now know Bite and Thrash, and you now have the Intimidate ability which weakens the attack strength of an opposing Pokemon when you come out to battle." He then looks up Spinda's information.

"Lily, this says Spinda's a boy, he knows Tackle, Copycat, and Feint Attack; he also has the Tangled Feet ability which increases his evasion when he's confused." Lincoln returns Gyarados to his pokeball and the group continues to explore the area; Lincoln soon found what looked like a golden orb, a red four-pointed star, and a pokeball that was blue on top instead of red and had two red lines on it.

"Hey, that's a Great Ball." said Sophocles.

"What's that?" asked Lincoln.

"It's like a regular pokeball, but has a better chance of catching Pokemon." replied Sophocles.

"Cool." replied Lincoln and he puts the Great Ball in his pocket.

"Hey, is that orb made of gold?" asked Lola with interest in her voice.

Yes, that's a Nugget." said Lillie. "It can be sold for ten thousand pokedollars."

"That's a lot of money!" said Lincoln. "Maybe after I'm done here, I can sell it and use some of the money to buy Lori, Leni, Lola, Jackie, and Mandee some accessories from Alola Sunrise."

"Yayy!" said Lori, Leni, Lola, Jackie, and Mandee.

"What about this thing?" asked Lincoln as he holds out the red star-shaped object.

"That's a Star Piece!" said Sophocles. "Those can be sold for twelve thousand pokedollars!"

"Wow! I can buy lots of stuff with that; maybe some extra accessories also." said Lincoln. After minutes of exploring the area, they leave. They continued to explore the cave until Lincoln sees another entrance; he walks over to it and enters. Upon entering, he saw he was on a ledge; but what got his attention was a pedestal at the end of the ledge that had a blue Z-Crystal with an image of wings in it.

"Wow, a Z-Crystal!" said Lincoln. He walks to it and pulls it off the pedestal. He suddenly hears footsteps; he turns around, expecting to see one of his friends, but instead, it was a woman with light blue hair, wearing a sky-blue visor, a light blue and grayish, blue-striped polo shirt, light blue skirt, knee high orange socks, and white shoes while holding a golf club.

"Who's that?" asked Leni.

"I wonder if she's into golfing?" asked Lori, looking at the woman's golf club.

"The glistening Flyinium-Z." said the woman.

"Is that what this Z-Crystal is called?" asked Lincoln.

"Yes; it is yours now." said the woman. "Watch as I do the dance needed to activate it." The woman shows Lincoln the pose he needs to do to activate the Flyinium Z. "By doing the dance, you will activate the Z-Crystal's move, Supersonic Strike. It will work for any of your Pokemon that knows a flying type move."

"My Rufflet knows a couple." replied Lincoln. The woman nods and walks away.

"Congratulations, Lincoln." said Sophocles.

"So, what now?" asked Kiawe.

"Let's get back to Hau'oli City; I want to pick up my Torracat, Rufflet, and Cottonee." said Lincoln.

"Okay, Lincoln." replied Mallow. Lincoln and the group soon left the cave and walked over to the Hau'oli City Pokemon Center; once there, Lincoln picks up the Pokemon he left there, then had the ones he just caught, along with the ones who battled there, treated; after that, he sends Carbink to Lola, Machop to Lynn Jr, Spinda to Lily, and Sableye to the Morticians' Club. After that, he sells the Nugget and Star Piece he found for a lot of money, which he uses to buy Lori, Leni, Lola, Jackie, and Mandee some accessories at Alola Sunrise, which they all appreciated.

"Today's been a busy day." said Lincoln.

"Yeah, I think you've done enough." said Mallow.

"I'm just going to relax at the beach the rest of the day with my Pokemon." said Lincoln.

"They did earn some rest and relaxation." said Alola Lana. Twenty minutes later; Lincoln, his friends, and Pokemon were all on Hau'oli Beach, relaxing.

What will Lincoln's next island trial be like as his Island Challenge continues?
