Finding Feebas
Once everyone was done congratulating Lincoln on completing his Brooklet Hill trial and earning his Waterium-Z Crystal, they try to figure out what they were going to do next.
"So, what now?" asked Hau. Lincoln then remembers something that Alola Lana mentioned earlier.
"Didn't you say that there were Feebas in Brooklet Hill, Lana?" Lincoln asked.
"That's right." said Alola Lana. "You wanted to catch one to evolve for your little sister."
"I think we have some time to spare before it gets dark." said Lincoln. He then takes out his Ride Pager and fishing rod and heads back up Brooklet Hill with his friends following after him.
They all soon reached the spot where Lincoln started his trial and he calls for Lapras, then hops onto it.
"Feebas are very hard to find, Lincoln." said Alola Lana. "So it will probably take a while before you actually catch one."
"If I don't find one today, I can always come back tomorrow." said Lincoln.
"Can I ride with you?" asked Mallow.
"Sure." Lincoln replied. Mallow hops on and the two ride to the center of the pond; once they get there, Lincoln casts his line into the water and waits for a bite; a few seconds later, he gets a nibble, making him yank on the rod and pulls out a Magikarp.
"Dang it." said Lincoln. He takes the Magikarp off his line and gently sets it back into the water where it swims away.
"Don't give up, Lincoln." said Alola Lana from the shore. Lincoln nods and casts his line into the water again.
"Do you think you'll catch a Feebas?" asked Mallow.
"Like I said, there's always tomorrow if I don't catch one today." said Lincoln. All of a sudden, Lapras starts thrashing around.
"What's wrong?!" asked Alola Lana. Lincoln looks into the water around them and sees a large school of green, fishlike Pokemon with black stripes with red edges going down their backs, white fins, and sharp teeth; were ramming or biting at Lapras.
"What are those?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at one of the Pokemon.
"Basculin, the Hostile Pokemon. Savage, violent Pokémon, red and blue Basculin are always fighting each other over territory." said the Rotom Phone.
"Boy, whoever came up with calling these guys the 'Hostile Pokemon' knew what he or she was talking about." said Lincoln.
"What's up with these guys?" asked Mallow.
"You must be in their territory!" said Alola Lana. The Basculin school's attacks started becoming more aggressive, causing Lapras to flail around more violently.
"We gotta get out of here." said Mallow.
"But we're surrounded." said Lincoln as he looks around to see Basculin all around them.
"What do we do?" asked Mallow. Lincoln takes out a pokeball from his pocket, prompting Mallow to do the same thing.
"If these guys wanna fight; then we'll give them one." said Lincoln as he tosses his pokeball, releasing his Cottonee; Mallow also tosses hers, releasing her Bounsweet. Seeing the new arrivals, several of the Basculin leap out of the water towards them.
"Cottonee/Bounsweet, use Razor Leaf!" said Lincoln and Mallow in unison, making Cottonee and Bounsweet release a barrage of leaves at the incoming Basculin, hitting them, doing super effective damage, and knocking them back into the water.
"Look out behind you!" shouts Sophocles from the shore. Lincoln and Mallow turn around to see more Basculin rocketing towards them.
"Bounsweet, use Magical Leaf!" said Mallow. Bounsweet launches a barrage of glowing green leaves at the Basculin, hitting some of them, doing super effective damage, and knocking them into the water also. Lincoln looks around at all the Basculin still around them.
"Cottonee, use Stun Spore!" said Lincoln. Cottonee releases yellow pollen into the water around them, making sure not to hit Lapras with it, covering the remaining Basculin, paralyzing them.
"Bounsweet, use Rapid Spin in the water!" said Mallow. Bounsweet splashes into the water and starts spinning, causing a small whirlpool to form and pull in the stunned Basculin, sweeping them away.
"Great work, you two." said Lincoln. Bounsweet smiles before she suddenly starts glowing.
"Hey! Bounsweet's evolving!" said Hau from the shore. Everyone watches as Bounsweet starts to change before their eyes; when she was done, she had white arms, and dark purple torso and legs, a white head with two large leaves acting like pigtails coming out the top of it, and a white lower body. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at Mallow's newly evolved Pokemon.
"Steenee, the Fruit Pokemon, and the evolved form of Bounsweet. It's protected by its hard sepals, so it plays with bird Pokémon without worry. They peck it relentlessly, but it doesn't care." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"Congratulations, Steenee!" said Mallow as she hugs her newly evolved Pokemon.
"And this says she learned Double Slap after evolving." said Lincoln. While he was focused on Mallow's new Steenee, a lone Basculin looks at him angrily and speeds towards him, getting Lillie's attention.
"Lincoln, watch out!" said Lillie. Lincoln turns as the Basculin leaps out at him; but before it hit, the ghostly, white stump headed, Pokemon flies out of some nearby bushes and rams it, knocking it back into the water.
"What's that Pokemon?" asked Lincoln as he points his Rotom Phone at the Pokemon that saved him.
"Phantump, the Stump Pokemon. By imitating the voice of a child, it causes people to get hopelessly lost deep in the forest. It's trying to make friends with them." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"You saved me." said Lincoln to the Phantump. It floats over to Lincoln and looks him in the eyes.
"It must be a Shiny Phantump, since it's colors are different than the one on your Rotom Phone." said Mallow.
"What's it doing here?" asked Alola Lana. "They're not usually found in this area."
"I don't know." said Lincoln. The Phantump then starts nuzzling Lincoln's cheek.
"I think it likes you." said Mallow with a small laugh.
"Maybe it's because my hair color is the same as its stump's?" suggested Lincoln.
"Could be." said Mallow.
"Maybe it wants to join you?" suggested Sophocles. Phantump floats joyfully around Lincoln, making him laugh.
"Well, if it wants to come with me, then I don't see why not." said Lincoln. As he takes out an empty pokeball, Phantump floats over to it and taps the button with its head, making it grow; and then taps it again to make it suck itself inside; the pokeball wiggles a few times in Lincoln's hand before clicking, indicating a successful capture.
"That was easy." said Mallow with a smile. As Lincoln's new Phantump's pokeball disappears to storage, he looks up its information on his Rotom Phone.
"This says my new Phantump is a girl, she's part grass type and part ghost type; she knows Tackle, Confuse Ray, Astonish, Growth, and Ingrain; she also has the Natural Cure ability which cures her of any status condition when she's returned to her pokeball." said Lincoln.
As he looks at his fishing rod still sitting on Lapras's shell, he notices the line wiggling a little; out of curiosity, he grabs the line and pulls it, yanking out the Pokemon that Alola Lana described to him.
"That's a Feebas!" Alola Lana shouts out. Lincoln takes out his Rotom Phone and points it at the Pokemon.
"Feebas, the Fish Pokemon. They look ragged, so no one catches them. They look like they'd taste bad, so predators won't eat them. And their numbers continue to grow." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"I can't believe you actually found one!" said Alola Lana. The Feebas stares at Lincoln and starts swimming around him and Mallow.
"Can't let this chance slip by." said Lincoln. He motions Cottonee to come over, prompting her to do so. "Cottonee, use Fairy Wind!" Cottonee releases a pink wind from her body, hitting the Feebas, and knocks it back; it responds by leaping out of the water and slams into her. "Cottonee, use Absorb!" Cottonee releases a stream of green energy from her body that hits Feebas, draining it of stamina that's used to heal herself. Lincoln, seeing that the Feebas was looking pretty worn out, takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at the Pokemon, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking, indicating a successful capture.
"You did it, Lincoln!" said Alola Lana. Lincoln uses his Rotom Phone and uses it to look up Feebas's information while its pokeball is teleported to storage.
"This says my new Feebas is a girl, she knows Splash and Tackle; she also has the Swift Swim ability which increases her speed if its raining while she's out." said Lincoln. Once that was done, he and Mallow return their Pokemon to their pokeballs, and head back to shore; then they, along with the rest of the group head back to the Pokemon Center near the bottom of Brooklet Hill.
When they got there, Lincoln uses the PC to swap his Cottonee for his new Phantump, along with his Eevee for Feebas. He then lets Feebas out of her pokeball and has her hold the Prism Scale he found earlier.
"Who wants to do a quick mock trade?" asked Lincoln. Sophocles does a quick trade with his Togedemaru before trading it back. Once that was done, Lincoln lets Feebas out of her pokeball and she immediately starts to glow.
"She's evolving!" said Alola Lana. They all watch as Feebas starts to change; when she finished, everyone was in awe at her new form.
"Lola would definitely like this one." said Lincoln. Feebas's body was now serpentlike with a cream-colored body, pink pigtails going down the sides of her head, a straight spike on top of its head, the back half of its body had diamond-shaped blue and pink scales outlined black, and a blue, fanlike tailfin with pink ovals in it. He points his Rotom Phone at the newly evolved Pokemon.
"Milotic, the Tender Pokemon, and the evolved form of Feebas. Milotic has provided inspiration to many artists. It has even been referred to as the most beautiful Pokémon of all." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone. Lincoln then uses his Rotom Phone to look up Milotic's information.
"This says that Milotic learned Water Pulse after evolving, she also knows Wrap, Water Gun, Water Sport, Disarming Voice, and Twister; plus, she has the Marvel Scale ability which boosts her defense if she has a status condition." said Lincoln. He then uses the PC to swap his Eevee back for Milotic, then uses it to send Milotic to the Loud house. He uses his Rotom Phone to call his family who answer a few seconds later.
"Hi, son." said Lynn Sr.
"What have you been up to?" asked Rita. Just then, Luan looks at Lincoln with a frown on her face.
"Did you have to tell that Grimer to kiss me?!" asked Luan before she gargles a bit more mouthwash and spits off to the side.
"Do that in the sink, young lady!" said Rita.
"I had to get back at you for that mailing me in a box prank you did!" said Lincoln.
"I guess I had it coming." said Luan.
"So, we're good now." said Lincoln.
"At least there's that." said Luan. Lincoln then tells everyone about his day, including passing his Brooklet Hill trial.
"Way to go, bro." said Luna.
"And I also sent Lola a new Pokemon." said Lincoln, making Lola squeal with delight. Lisa runs up to her room to grab the newest arrival from her transport system, then comes back down and hands it to Lola who quickly lets Milotic out. She just looked at her with awe of her beauty.
"She's magnificent!" said Lola.
"She is literally amazing." said Lori.
"Thanks, Linky!" said Lola. After some more talking, they end the call.
"I'm ready to head back to Iki Town." said Lincoln.
"Let's go then." said Kiawe. He and Lincoln use their Ride Pagers to call for some Charizards to carry everyone to their homes, along with Lincoln to Iki Town.
Later that night at Kahuna Hala's house, Lincoln was talking to him about Brooklet Hill while they ate.
"I'm glad that things worked out for you." said Kahuna Hala.
"Lincoln's doing great as a trainer." said Hau.
"He might be a top competitor in the Alola League if he keeps working hard." said Kahuna Hala.
"I will." said Lincoln. After dinner, Lincoln cleans his dishes, brushes his teeth, showers, and gets into bed.
Lincoln has caught some new Pokemon. What other things will he do as his Alola adventures continue?
