A Team Skull Welcome
The next day at the Pokemon School, Lincoln was doing his schoolwork while looking at the clock now and then, eager for classes to end so he can hang out with his relatives.
"Someone's eager for class to end." said Mallow.
"Just really looking forward to hanging out with my uncle, aunt, and cousins." said Lincoln.
"But you just saw them yesterday." said Sophocles.
"But before that, we haven't seen each other in person for about five years." said Lincoln.
"How come?" asked Kiawe. Lincoln then tells him about how his dad and uncle haven't really been on speaking terms since a fateful Christmas dinner.
"Isn't that a little too much to do over a spatula and a piece of exercise gear?" asked Mallow.
"You're talking about a family with a girl that tried mailing relatives to other relatives' homes." said Lincoln.
"He makes a good point." said Kiawe.
Just then, the school bell rang, indicating the end of class for the day. Lincoln quickly gets out of his desk and heads to the balcony; he then looks down towards the front gate of the school and sees his relatives looking around the area.
"Alola, everyone!" says Lincoln, getting his relatives' attention.
"Hi, cuz!" said Shane.
"I'll be right down!" said Lincoln. He gets on the slide connected to the balcony and goes down it to ground level with his friends following after him.
"That looked like fun!" said Shelby.
"It's a lot quicker than the stairs." said Lincoln.
"Yeah, but you'd get exercise using them." said Lance.
"True, but I really wanted to start hanging out with you all as soon as possible." said Lincoln.
"I guess so." said Lance.
"Who's ready for the tour?" asked Lincoln. Once everyone confirmed that they were, Lincoln and his friends start to show Lance and his family around the school; they show them the classrooms, the cafeteria, the racetrack where they see some students riding on Tauroses, the Pokemon fossils and skeletons that were there, and finally, Lincoln's classroom.
"This place is so awesome!" said Shiloh.
"It is a nice school." said Sharon. Just then, Lincoln's Rotom Phone rings, making him look to see he was getting a call from his family; he turns on video chat to see everyone in the Loud house's living room.
"Alola, everyone." said Lincoln.
"Hey, son." said Lynn Sr.
"How was school?" asked Rita.
"It was pretty good." said Lincoln.
"What are you up to now, brah?" asked Luna.
"I was giving Uncle Lance and his family a tour of the school." said Lincoln.
"Man, I wish I there so I can hang out with our cousins in person." said Lana.
"Me, too." said Lynn Jr.
"Maybe if Lynn apologizes for popping my Ab Blaster 3000, then we might make up and start seeing each other in person." said Lance as he frowns at Lynn Sr.
"Why should I apologize for something that happened because of something that you started?" asked Lynn Sr.
"It was your fault!" said Lance.
"Your fault times ten!" said Lynn Sr.
"Yours times a thousand!" said Lance.
"Yours times a million!" said Lynn Sr.
"Yours times infinity!" said Lance.
"Yours times infinity plus one!" said Lynn Sr. Their respective families facepalm themselves at Lynn Sr and Lance's childish actions.
"This is productive." Rita said sarcastically.
"You said it, Rita." said Sharon. Lynn Sr and Lance look away from the screens with huffs.
"Anyway, what are you going to do now?" asked Rita.
"Maybe Lincoln can show us some activities we can do here." said Sharon.
"There's a lot to do around here." said Lincoln with excitement. "One of my favorite things to do is Sharpedo Riding."
"What's that?" asked Shiloh.
"You ride around on a Pokemon called Sharpedo like a jet ski!" said Lincoln.
"That sounds awesome!" said Shiloh.
"Let's get some swimwear on and head to the beach." said Sharon. Everyone uses the slide to get to the front of the building.
"That was fun!" said Shelby.
"Wish there was a pool here I can cannonball into instead." said Shiloh. As Lincoln, his friends, and Uncle Lance's family exit the front gate, the sounds of motorcycle engines starts heading towards them.
"What's that?" asked Shelby. Lincoln looks and sees a sight that makes him groan.
"It's Team Skull again." said Lincoln as he watches Team Skull's motorcycles head towards the school.
"What's Team Skull?" asked Sharon.
"They're a gang that's always causing trouble for students here at the Pokemon School." said Alola Lana.
"They always bully other students into having Pokemon battles with them!" said Mallow with a frown.
"That's not cool." said Shane.
"Have they given you any problems, Lincoln?" asked Sharon.
"I've dealt with them before, but I was able to handle them every time." said Lincoln.
"Let me handle them for you this time, Lincoln." said Lance as he stands in front of his nephew in a protective manner. Team Skull pulls up in front of the gate and get off their motorcycles.
"What do we have here?" asked Tupp as he looks at everyone at the gate.
"Never seen some of you before." said Zipp as he looks at Lance and his family.
"Just got here a couple days ago for a vacation with my family here." said Lance as he stares down Team Skull.
"Oh, tourists huh?" replied Tupp.
"Yeah, they're my relatives." said Lincoln as he steps out from behind Lance.
"Oh man, not you again!" said Tupp. Lincoln was suddenly grabbed by Rapp who starts nuzzling his cheek, making him blush, and Mallow growl.
"Alola, cutie!" said Rapp.
"What's going on here?" asked Shane with a smirk.
"Yeah, Rapp here has a crush on that white-haired runt." said Zipp, making Lincoln's relatives and his family who were watching back in Royal Woods chuckle, making Lincoln blush some more; he was suddenly pulled out of Rapp's hug by Mallow.
"Hey, keep your hands off Lincoln!" said Mallow as she holds Lincoln tightly to her, making him blush some more.
"I wasn't done hugging him!" said Rapp as she and Mallow glare at each other, making everyone else chuckle.
"Looks like Lincoln's a real ladies man here." said Lance with a laugh.
"He gets it from me." said Lynn Sr.
"Yeah, sure, Lynn." said Lance.
"But this is a good chance for me to settle the score with you, punk!" said Tupp.
"C'mon, Tupp; let me have a crack at him!" said Zipp. "You tried the last few times, and you got your butt kicked."
"Fine, let's see you do better!" said Tupp. He steps aside and lets Zipp stand in front of him. Lance then steps out in front of Lincoln who was still being held by Mallow.
"If you want to mess with my nephew, then you'll have to mess with me!" said Lance.
"Fine by me, then let me give you an official Team Skull welcome to Alola." said Zipp as he takes out a pokeball and tosses it, releasing a large, orange, spiderlike Pokemon with yellow and purple legs, and a spike sticking out its forehead; Lance freezes up at the sight of it.
"AUUGGGHHH! SPIDER!" shouts Lance, along with Lynn Sr and Leni who were watching from the Loud house; Lance hides behind the Pokemon School's front wall, while Lynn Sr and Leni hide behind their living room couch.
"Ha! What a bunch of wimps!" said Zipp.
"Don't talk about my family like that!" said Lincoln. "And what Pokemon is that?" He then uses his Rotom Phone to see what the spider Pokemon was.
"Ariados, the Long Leg Pokemon, and the evolved form of Spinarak. Every night, it wanders around in search of prey, whose movements it restrains by spewing threads before it bites into them with its fangs." said Lincoln's Rotom Phone.
"How about a Pokemon battle, kid?" asked Zipp.
"You got it." said Lincoln. He then remembers that Mallow was still holding him. "Mallow, would you mind letting me go so I can teach this jerk a lesson?"
"S-S-Sure." stammered Mallow with a blush on her face as she releases Lincoln.
"Yeah, you better let my little cutie go!" said Rapp, making Mallow growl at her. Back with Lincoln and Zipp, Lincoln pulls out a pokeball.
"Rockruff, go!" said Lincoln, throwing Rockruff's pokeball and releasing him.
"Ariados, use Shadow Sneak!" said Zipp. Ariados' shadow stretches out towards Rockruff and strikes him, knocking him back.
"Rockruff, Rock Tomb!" said Lincoln. Multiple gray rocks form above Ariados and fall onto it, dealing super effective damage; Ariados begins to slump due to Rock Tomb decreasing its speed. "Now use Rock Throw!" Multiple rocks form around Rockruff's tail and they fly at Ariados, hitting it, and dealing super effective damage.
"Ariados, Absorb!" said Zipp. Ariados fires a red beam out of the spike on its forehead at Rockruff.
"Dodge it!" said Lincoln. Rockruff jumps to the side, narrowly avoiding the beam. "Now use Tackle!" Rockruff runs at Ariados and rams it, knocking it to the ground, unconscious.
"No way!" exclaimed Zipp.
"Great job, Rockruff." said Lincoln, making Rockruff bark in response.
"Whoa, awesome!" said Shiloh.
"That was pretty cool." said Shane.
"Way to go, Lincoln." said Shelby. Lincoln's family, his friends, and even Rapp began cheering for Lincoln's victory. Zipp dropped to his knees and returned Ariados to its pokeball; he then tosses pokedollars at Lincoln.
"What did that guy give you, Lincoln?" asked Shelby.
"Pokedollars; it's the currency here." said Lincoln.
"Why would he give it to you?" asked Shane.
"You see, after a battle between two trainers, the losing trainer has to give the winning trainer half the money they have on them." replied Lincoln.
"That sounds like a fun way to make some spending cash." said Lance from behind the wall.
"Let's get out of here!" said Tupp as he and the other Team Skull members get on their bikes.
"And here's a little something for you, cutie." said Rapp as she pulls down her mask and blows Lincoln a kiss; Mallow suddenly grabs it out of midair, throws it to the ground, and stomps on it, making Rapp growl at her. Team Skull rides away, with Rapp winking at Lincoln as they do.
"Glad they're gone." said Sophocles. Lance comes out from behind the wall.
"Are those people always coming around here?" asked Sharon.
"Sometimes." said Lillie.
"Well, at least we know that Lincoln can handle them." said Sharon.
"Yeah!" said Shane, Shelby, and Shiloh.
"Now that that's done, who's ready for the beach?" asked Lincoln, getting cheers from his family.
"Let's go, Lincoln." said Mallow as she grabs Lincoln's hand, making him blush, and starts pulling him towards the beach with his relatives and friends following after him.
Twenty minutes later, Lincoln, his relatives, and his friends, all in swimwear, were riding across the ocean on Sharpedos.
"This is so awesome!" said Shiloh.
"What else can we do on these?" asked Lance.
"Watch this!" said Lincoln as he takes a deep breath and holds it, then has his Sharpedo go underwater, with his relatives and friends doing the same thing. Uncle Lance and his family marveled at the sights they saw on the ocean floor, including all the different kinds of water Pokemon they saw.
'This is so beautiful.' Sharon thought to herself.
'Lincoln is so lucky he gets to do this a lot recently' Shelby thought to herself.
'I don't want this day to end!' Shiloh thought to himself.
As Lincoln and Mallow were side-by-side with each other, they notice a bunch of Luvdiscs swimming between them; they look at each other then look away with smiles and blushes on their faces as they remember a fact they heard about how when two people encounter Luvdiscs, they are promised a loving relationship that lasts forever.
Meanwhile, with Team Skull, Rapp suddenly growled, scaring Zipp and Tupp.
"What's with you?" asked Tupp.
"I have a feeling that green-haired girl from before is doing something with my cutie!" said Rapp with a clenched fist.
"Whatever." said Tupp, resulting in Rapp punching the top of his head.
After Lincoln's group all got done with their joyrides, they all go back to Ride Sharpedo rental dock and hop off their Ride Pokemon onto it.
"Did you all enjoy your rides?" asked the woman who worked there.
"It was awesome!" said Shiloh.
"Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it." said the woman. The group then heads back to the Hau'oli City street.
"That was a fun day." said Shane.
"Could've done without that Ariados thing." said Lance with a shudder.
"I think it's time we got back to our hotel room, honey." said Sharon.
"So, we'll see you tomorrow, Lincoln?" Shelby asked Lincoln.
"I'm looking forward to it." said Lincoln with a smile. Everyone says their goodbyes and head to their homes/lodgings. As they do, Lincoln and Mallow look at each other and wave.
That night in Iki Town, Lincoln was in his bed, talking to his family about his day.
"You are so lucky you get to hang out with our cousins." said Lana.
"Makes me want to go there to Alola to do so myself." said Leni.
"I'd be willing to let Luan ship me there in a box." said Lynn Jr.
"Don't even think about it, young lady." said Rita with a frown.
"Anyway, we're glad you're doing okay, son." said Lynn Sr.
"Thanks, Dad." said Lincoln. He looks away with a smile and blush as he remembers his and Mallow's encounter with the Luvdiscs earlier; Lincoln's sisters notice this.
"What's with you?" asked Lori. Hesitantly, Lincoln tells them what happened with him and Mallow during the Sharpedo Ride underwater and what a Luvdisc encounter was said to mean, making his sisters squeal with delight.
"I, totes, hope you and Mallow get together." said Leni with a smile.
"If not, there's always Rapp." said Luan with a smirk, making Lincoln blush a bit. He then ends the call to put an end to the embarrassment and just goes to sleep, looking forward to spending time with his relatives soon.
