Guzma and New Z-Crystals
At the bus stop on Route 10, the Eds, Sarah, Jimmy, and Maxiley were stepping out of the bus they were on. They were on their way to Malie Garden where they are meeting with Professor Kukui.
"So, what do you think Professor Kukui has for us, Eddy?" asked Ed.
"Not sure." replied Eddy.
"We'll just have to find out when we meet him." said Edd. Some rustling was coming from a tree, and a metal, birdlike Pokemon flies out and swoops past them. Edd takes out the Rotom Dex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Skarmory, the Armor Bird Pokemon. Its body is draped in steel armor. It looks heavy, but it can fly at speeds of up to 185 miles an hour!" said the Rotom Dex. The Skarmory turns around and hovers, looking at them. Edd steps forward and pulls out a pokeball.
"Perhaps I shall attempt to capture this Pokemon." said Edd as he throws his pokeball, releasing his Magneton.
"Go for it, sockhead." said Eddy. The Skarmory flies at Magneton and jabs it with its beak, not doing a lot of damage.
"Magneton, please use Thunder Wave!" said Edd. Magneton releases a wave of static electricity from itself that hits Skarmory, inflicting paralysis on it. The Skarmory tries to do something in retaliation, but it freezes up. "Now please use Electro Ball!" Magneton releases a ball of electricity from the center of itself that hits Skarmory, doing super effective damage, and making it fall to the ground.
"Catch it, Double-D!" said Jimmy. Edd quickly takes out an empty pokeball, and throws it at the Skarmory, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before clicking.
"You did it, Double-D!" said Ed. Edd watches as his Skarmory's pokeball disappears. He then looks up its information on the Rotom Pokedex.
"This says my Skarmory's a male, he knows Leer, Peck, Sand Attack, Metal Claw, Air Cutter, Fury Attack, Feint, and Swift; he has the Keen Eye ability which prevents accuracy loss." said Edd.
The group continued walking down Route 10 until they once again found themselves in Malie City. They continued walking until they reached Malie Garden. Upon entering, they see Professor Kukui.
"Alola, everyone." said Professor Kukui.
"Alola, Professor Kukui." replied Edd as the group walk to Professor Kukui.
"So, how did it go in your trial?" asked Professor Kukui.
"We all passed." said Sarah as she and the others pull out their Electrium-Z Crystals.
"Well, congratulations, all of you." said Professor Kukui. He then looks at Maxiley. "By the way, Maxiley; have you heard of the tournament Mask Royal's holding?"
"You bet; already signed up for it." replied Maxiley. "I'm going to train really hard for it."
"Well, Professor Kukui, you told us to come back her after our trial on Mount Hokulani because you have something for us." said Edd.
"Indeed, I do." replied Professor Kukui. As he reaches into his pocket, they hear someone yelling.
"See, boss; we told you he was here." they hear someone yell out. The group turned to see two Team Skull members; with them was a man with white hair that was shaved in the lower part and was black, wearing a black jacket with white, zigzag patterns on it over a white shirt, black pants with white X's on the bottom of them, a pair of white shoes, gold framed sunglasses, a gold watch on his left wrist and a black and white bracelets on his right.
"Oh great, it's those Team Skull jerks again!" exclaimed Eddy.
"What do those fatheads want?" asked Sarah.
"And who's that with them?" asked Maxiley, pointing at the man the Team Skull members are with.
"Guzma?" says Professor Kukui to the man.
"Alola, Kukui; it's been a while." said the man now known as Guzma.
"You know that man, Professor?" asked Edd.
"Yes." said Professor Kukui. "We both used to be apprentices to Kahuna Hala."
"Really?" replied Jimmy.
"Yeah, but I didn't really buy into the old man's teachings and just stopped learning from him." said Guzma. "Since then, I resolved to become stronger without needing those fancy Z-Rings you kids are wearing."
"And he's also trying to stop the Alola League from happening." said Professor Kukui.
"What?!" shouts the kids.
"Is that why Team Skull is going around, trying to take trainers Island Amulets?!" asked Edd.
"You bet." said a Team Skull member.
"Don't think I'm gonna let that happen!" said Eddy as he steps forward.
"You think you can take me?" asked Guzma with a grin.
"We'll just have to battle and find out!" said Eddy. Everyone else walks away to give Eddy and Guzma some battle room. "How many Pokemon are we using?"
"How does two each sound?" asked Guzma.
"Fine by me." said Eddy as he takes out a pokeball from his pocket, prompting Guzma to do the same. Guzma throws his, releasing a large, light gray, bipedal, insectoid Pokemon that had large claws with plating on them, along with feelers coming out of its torso.
"Ewww; what's that?" asked Sarah. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Golisopod, the Hard Scale Pokemon, and the evolved form of Wimpod. The shell covering its body is as hard as diamond. This Pokémon will do anything it takes to win." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"That Pokemon is part bug and part water." said Edd.
"Thanks, Double-D." said Eddy as he throws his pokeball, releasing his Charjabug. "Okay, pal; use Charge!" Charjabug starts gathering electricity into himself and increases his special defense.
"Golisopod, use Slash!" said Guzma. Golisopod charges at Charjabug and slashes him with its claws.
"Charjabug, use Spark!" said Eddy. Charjabug's body becomes coated in electricity as it leaps at Golisopod and slams into it, doing more super effective damage than normal thanks to him using Charge. All of a sudden, Golisopod returns to its pokeball.
"Why did Golisopod return to its pokeball without Guzma telling it to?" asked Ed.
"That's because Golisopod has the Emergency Exit ability." said Guzma.
"What's that?" asked Sarah.
"It makes Golisopod return to its pokeball by itself if it loses half its stamina." said Guzma.
"What a wimpy ability." said Eddy. All of a sudden, a pokeball on Guzma's waist opens and releases a white Pokemon with a waterdrop shaped head that had two large wings coming out of the side of it with designs that make them look like angry eyes, and coming out of the sides of its abdomen were two pairs of smaller wings.
"What's that?" asked Maxiley. Edd points the Rotom Pokedex at the new Pokemon.
"Masquerain, the Eyeball Pokemon, and the evolved form of Surskit. Masquerain intimidates enemies with the eyelike patterns of its eyespots. If that doesn't work, it deftly makes its escape on its set of four wings." said the Rotom Pokedex.
Charjabug suddenly seemed to get nervous.
"What's wrong, pal?" asked Eddy.
"Masquerain has the Intimidate ability." said Guzma.
"That move that makes the Pokemon with the ability's opponent's attack power weaker?" asked Eddy.
"That's right, kid." said Guzma. "Masquerain, use Gust!" Masquerain flaps its wings, sending a gust of wind at Charjabug, hitting it, and knocking it back.
"At least when Charjabug used Charge, its special defense was increased." said Edd.
"Charjabug, use Spark!" said Eddy. Charjabug leaps at Masquerain and slams into it, doing super effective damage.
"Masquerain, use Icy Wind!" said Guzma. Masquerain flaps its wings, releasing wind with bits of ice in it, hitting Charjabug.
"Charjabug, use Crunch!" said Eddy. Charjabug leaps at Masquerain and bites down on it, hurting it, and lower its special defense.
"Masquerain, use Air Cutter!" said Guzma. Masquerain flaps its wings, releasing blades of wind from them, hitting Charjabug.
"Charjabug, use Spark one more time!" said Eddy. Charjabug leaps at Masquerain with his body coated in electricity and slams into it, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"No way!" said Guzma. "How is this runt so strong?!"
"We forgot to mention; that's Eddy." said a Team Skull member.
"The Lily of the Valley Conference champion?!" replied Guzma.
"You know it." said Eddy.
"You all should've told me that!" said Guzma before returning his Masquerain to its pokeball; he puts it away, then lets his Golisopod back out. "Golisopod, use Razor Shell!" A blade of water comes out of one of Golisopod's wrist plates as it runs at Charjabug and slashes it, sending it flying to Eddy's feet, unconscious.
"Boss did it!" said a Team Skull member. Eddy returns his Charjabug to his Net Ball.
"You were great, pal!" said Eddy as he puts Charjabug's pokeball away.
"So, what now, kid?" asked Guzma with a smirk.
"I'm gonna beat you; that's what!" said Eddy as he takes out a pokeball from his pocket and throws it, releasing his Noibat. "Noibat, use Screech!" Noibat releases a high-pitched soundwave from her mouth which forces Golisopod to cover its antenna, lowering its defense.
"Golisopod, use Slash!" said Guzma. Golisopod charges at Noibat and strikes it with its claw, knocking it back.
"It's gonna take more than that to stop us!" said Eddy. "Noibat, use Wing Attack!" Noibat flies at Golisopod and strikes it with one of her wings, doing lots of super effective damage, thanks in part to Golisopod's defense being lower.
"Golisopod, use Razor Shell!" said Guzma. Golisopod leaps at Noibat and strikes her with its water blade, but not doing much thanks to Noibat being part dragon.
"Noibat, use Air Cutter!" said Eddy. Noibat flaps her wings, releasing a barrage of wind blades from them, hitting Golisopod, and doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"NOOOOO!" shouts Guzma.
"Eddy won!" cheered Ed.
"I knew he would!" said Edd. Guzma frowns as he returns his Golisopod to its pokeball. He then walks over to Eddy and looks down at him.
"You're lucky I have more important things to focus on right now or you would've lost!" said Guzma.
"Whatever." said Eddy. Guzma slams some pokedollars to the ground in front of Eddy and storms off with the Team Skull members following after him. Everyone goes over to Eddy and congratulates him.
"You did good, Eddy!" said Ed.
"That was amazing!" said Sarah. Professor Kukui walks over to the group.
"That was impressive, Eddy." said Professor Kukui. "I think you, Ed, and Double-D are ready."
"For what?" asked Eddy. Professor Kukui reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out three Z-Crystals.
"To use these." replied Professor Kukui, holding out the Z Crystals.
"Z-Crystals!" said Edd.
"Exactly." said Professor Kukui. He gives Ed a green Z-Crystal that had a black emblem of Decidueye's head. "Ed; this is Decidium Z; this will allow your Decidueye to use the Z-Move, Sinister Arrow Raid."
"Cool!" said Ed, looking at his new Decidium Z. Professor Kukui then shows Ed the poses he needs to do to activate it.
He then gives Edd a blue Z-Crystal that had a black emblem of Primarina's head.
"Double-D, this is Primarium Z; with this, your Primarina can use the Z-Move, Oceanic Operetta." said Professor Kukui.
"Remarkable." replied Edd as he looks at his new Primarium Z. Professor Kukui then shows Edd the poses needed to use it.
Finally, Professor Kukui gives Eddy a red Z Crystal that had a black emblem of Incineroar's head.
"Eddy, this is Incinium Z; with this, your Incineroar can use the Z-Move, Malicious Moonsault." said Professor Kukui.
"Sweet!" said Eddy. Professor Kukui then shows Eddy the poses he needs to do to activate it.
"Thank you, Professor Kukui." said Edd.
"And now, your next trial is located on Route 14." said Professor Kukui. "You just need to follow a trail that's south of Malie City and you'll soon be there."
"Sweet!" said Eddy.
"How about we start in the morning; it looks as if it's starting to get dark." said Edd. Everyone looks up to see it was.
"Okay; I was getting hungry anyway." said Eddy.
"Yeah; let's get something to eat!" said Ed.
"Okay." said Eddy. The group left Malie Garden and went straight to the Pokemon Center.
The next morning, the group walked out of the Pokemon Center and breathed in that tropical air and lets out relaxed sighs.
"Well, let's get going; our next trial is calling for us." said Eddy.
"Yeah!" cheered everyone else. They began walking down towards the path going through Route 11, not paying any mind to the fishing boat that was arriving at the pier, as well as a certain passenger on the boat looking at Eddy through a pair of binoculars with a sadistic grin on his face.
