Mina's Trial (Part One)
Now that the Alola Region is safe from Necrozma, the Eds can concentrate on the Alola Leage, Sarah and Jimmy can concentrate on the Junior's Division, and Maxiley can focus on the Mask Royal's tournament; The group has just arrived at Seafolk Village.
"Now with the situation with Necrozma has been resolved, we can now continue with our trials, everyone." said Edd.
"Oh boy!" said Ed.
"So, where do we go for our next trial, Double-D?" asked Eddy. Edd looks at the map app on the Rotom Pokedex.
"Why, we have to go to one of the houses here in Seafolk Village." replied Edd.
"Okay then; let's go!" said Eddy.
"Yeah!" replied everyone else. They followed the map until they reached a fish-shaped houseboat; they go inside and see Mina standing near an art canvas.
"Alola, Mina." said Edd, getting Mina's attention.
"Alola, everyone." said Mina.
"We're here for our island trial." said Jimmy.
"Excellent." said Mina.
"So what do we have to do?" asked Eddy with enthusiasm.
"You all simply have to battle me." said Mina. Eddy looks at the rest of the group.
"So who's first?" asked Eddy.
"Ladies first." said Sarah as she steps forward.
"You can do it, baby sister!" said Ed. Soon, Sarah and Mina were facing each other.
"Mawile, go." said Mina, throwing a pokeball and releasing a pale yellow Pokemon with a black ponytail that had a long pair of jaws on the end of it. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Mawile, the Deceiver Pokemon. It has two mouths. The big jaws on the back of its head can't taste anything, so that's the mouth it uses to eat foods it doesn't like." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"I wish I had something like that the next time I have to eat broccoli." said Sarah. "Salazzle, go!" She throws Salazzle's pokeball and releases her. Mawile's ponytail jaws bared its fangs at Salazzle, making her slump.
"Mawile has the Intimidate ability, weakening your Salazzle's attack strength." said Mina. "Mawile, use Sucker Punch!" Mawile leaps at Salazzle and punches her, knocking her back.
"Salazzle, use Nasty Plot!" said Sarah. Salazzle glares at Mawile and her special attack strength increases.
"Mawile, use Crunch!" said Mina. Mawile leaps at Salazzle and bites her with its ponytail jaws, damaging her, and weakening her defense.
"Salazzle, Flamethrower!" said Sarah. Salazzle releases a powerful stream of fire from her mouth and it hits Mawile, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Way to go, Sarah." said Jimmy. Mina returns Mawile to its pokeball.
"You were great, Mawile." said Mina. She puts Mina's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Granbull, go." She tosses her pokeball and releases a Granbull.
"He has a Granbull like Makoa does." said Maxiley. Granbull glares at Salazzle, making her attack strength even weaker.
"My Granbull has the Intimidate ability also." said Mina. "Granbull, use Earthquake!" Grandbull jumps up and lands hard on the floor, creating an earthquake that knocks Salazzle of her feet, dealing super effective damage to her; she struggles to get up.
"You can do it, Salazzle; use Flame Burst!" said Sarah. Salazzle fires a fireball out of her mouth and it hits Granbull, dealing damage to it.
"Granbull, use Thunder Fang!" said Mina. Electricity surrounds Granbull's mouth; it charges at Salazzle and bites her, dealing enough damage to knock her out.
"Don't worry, Sarah; you can still turn this around." said Edd. Sarah returns Salazzle to her pokeball.
"You did your best, Salazzle." said Sarah. She puts Salazzle's pokeball away and pulls out another one. "Mrs. Mime, go!" She throws Mrs. Mime's pokeball and releases her. "Mrs. Mime, use Psybeam!" Mrs. Mime fires a multicolored beam of energy from her hands and it hits Granbull, hitting it, and dealing damage; Granbull begins to stumble around.
"Granbull's confused." said Edd.
"Granbull, try using Ice Fang!" said Mina. Granbull fights through its confusion and charges at Mrs. Mime while ice covered its fangs.
"Use Reflect!" said Sarah. Mrs. Mime holds out her hands and a square, transparent wall appears in front of her. Granbull bites into it; it takes most of the hit, reducing the damage done to Mrs. Mime. "Now use Mimic!" Mrs. Mime runs at Granbull while ice covered her mouth and she bites Granbull, dealing damage, and encasing it in ice.
"Granbull's frozen." said Maxiley.
"Granbull, try using Headbutt!" said Mina. Unfortunately, Granbull was still frozen.
"Mrs. Mime, use Psychic!" said Sarah. Mrs. Mime's eyes glowed blue and Granbull gets send flying back and onto the floor, shattering the ice; Granbull laid there with swirly eyes.
"Way to go, Sarah." said Jimmy. Mina returns Granbull to its pokeball.
"You did all you could, Granbull." said Mina. She puts Granbull's pokeball away and pulls out another. "You're doing well so far, Sarah; but you still have to beat one more Pokemon. Ribombee, go!" She tosses the pokeball and releases a tiny, flylike Pokemon with yellow hair, a white face and lower body, and a brown scarf around its neck. Edd points the Rotom Pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Ribombee, the Bee Fly Pokemon and the evolved form of Cutiefly. It can predict the weather from moisture levels and wind direction. Ribombee only reveals itself when there are a few clear days in a row." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Ribombee, use Silver Wind!" said Mina. Ribombee releases a silvery gust of wind from its wings and they hit Mrs. Mime, knocking her back.
"Mrs. Mime, use Double Slap!" said Sarah. Mrs. Mime leaps at Ribombee and slaps it a few times, knocking it back.
"Ribombee, use Pollen Puff!" said Mina. Ribombee creates a purple ball of pollen between its hands and it throws it at Mrs. Mime, hitting her.
"Psywave!" said Sarah. Mrs. Mime releases rings of energy from her hands and they hit Ribombee, damaging her.
"Bug Buzz!" said Mina. Ribombee lets out a loud yell, releasing red soundwaves that hits Mrs. Mime, knocking her out.
"Don't give up, Sarah!" said Eddy.
"You can do it!" said Ed. Sarah returns Mrs. Mime to her pokeball.
"You were great, Mrs. Mime." said Sarah. She puts Mrs. Mime's pokeball away and pulls out another. "Go, Blissey!" She throws Blissey's pokeball and releases her. "Blissey, use Pound!" Blissey runs at Ribombee and pounds it onto the floor, dealing damage; Ribombee slowly flies back up.
"Ribombee, use Struggle Bug!" said Mina. Ribombee releases green streaks of energy from its body and they hit Blissey, damaging her.
"Blissey, Double Edge!" said Sarah. Blissey charges at Ribombee and rams it with incredible force; Ribombee gets sent flying until it hits the ceiling. It falls to the ground, unconscious; Blissey flinches in pain from the recoil damge done by Double Edge.
"Sarah won!" said Ed.
"Knew she could do it." said Maxiley. Sarah runs to Blissey and hugs her.
"You were great, Blissey." said Sarah. Mina returns Ribombee to its pokeball.
"You were great too, Ribombee." said Mina. She puts Ribombee's pokeball away and walks over to Sarah. "You battled well."
"I know." said Sarah. Mina reaches into a pocket and pulls out a pink flower petal.
"This is for you." said Mina as she hands Sarah the petal.
"Uh... thanks?" Sarah said.
"I'll explain what that's for after I battle your friends." said Mina. She then looks at the Eds and Jimmy. "Which of the rest of you will be facing me next?"
"I will." said Jimmy.
"Very well; as soon as I get my Pokemon treated, we shall battle." said Mina.
While Mina goes to the Pokemon Center, Jimmy goes over what he learned from Sarah's battle with her, and picks the Pokemon he'll use in his.
Ten minutes later, Mina returns, and Jimmy gets into his position.
"Ready, Jimmy?" asked Mina.
"You bet I am!" said Jimmy. Mina takes a pokeball out of her smock's pocket and tosses it, releasing her Mawile; Jimmy tosses a pokeball, releasing his Wishiwashi, making his Schooling ability kick in, making other Wishiwashis appear and make his School Form; Mawile's Intimidate ability kicks in, weakening Jimmy's Pokemon.
"Mawile, use Crunch!" said Mina. Mawile bites down hard on Wishiwashi, dealing damage, and weakening his defense.
"Wishiwashi, use Aqua Tail!" said Jimmy. Wishiwashi swings a water-coated tail at the Mawile, hitting it, dealing damage.
"Mawile, use Feint Attack!" said Mina. Mawile moves left, then quickly moves to Wishiwashi's right and strikes him with a punch; Wishiwashi's School Form breaks apart, returning him to his Solo Form.
"Do something, Jimmy!" said Sarah.
"Wishiwashi, use Soak!" said Jimmy. Wishiwashi releases a blob of water that splashes on the Mawile, not doing any sort of damage.
"What was that?" asked Sarah.
"Mawile, use Crunch one more time!" said Mina. Mawile runs at Wishiwashi and bites down on him, dealing enough damage to knock him out.
"Poor Wishiwashi." said Ed.
"Why did Jimmy use that Soak attack?" asked Eddy. Jimmy returns Wishiwashi to his pokeball.
"Thanks for doing your best, Wishiwashi." said Jimmy. He puts Wishiwashi's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Raichu. Edd's eyes widen as he realized why Jimmy used Soak before.
"Clever." said Edd, getting his friends' attention.
"What?" asked Eddy.
"Raichu, use Thunder Wave!" said Jimmy. Raichu fires off a blast of static electricity that hits Mawile, causing paralysis.
"Mawile, use Crunch!" said Mina. Mawile tries to move, but paralysis stops it.
"Raichu, use Electro Ball!" said Jimmy. Raichu forms a ball of electricity over his tail and launches it at Mawile, hitting it, and dealing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"What the..." said Eddy. "Why did Electro Ball do super effective damage to Mawile?"
"Because of Wishiwashi's Soak attack." said Edd.
"What do you mean?" asked Sarah.
"Soak turns whatever Pokemon it hits into a water type." said Edd.
"And water types are weak against electric attacks." said Eddy as he realized what Edd was getting at.
"That was ingenious planning on Jimmy's part." said Edd. Mina returns her Mawile to its pokeball.
"You battled well." said Mina. She puts Mawile's pokeball away and pulls off another one; he tosses it, releasing her Granbull.
"Raichu, use Psychic!" said Jimmy. Raichu uses his psychic power to lift Granbull off the floor and slams it back down hard.
"Granbull, use Payback!" said Mina. Granbull releases streams of black energy from its body at Raichu, hitting it, and dealing double the super effective damage it normally would've due to it taking damage before attacking.
"Raichu, use Spark!" said Jimmy. Raichu sky surfs at Granbull while covered in electricity and rams into it, dealing damage.
"Granbull, use Bite!" said Mina. Granbull runs at Raichu and bites down on him, dealing super effective damage.
"Raichu, use Thunder Shock!" said Jimmy. Raichu releases a jolt of electricity that hits Granbull, dealing enough damage to knock it out.
"Yay, Jimmy!" said Ed.
"One more to go!" said Eddy. Mina returns her Granbull to its pokeball.
"You did your best." said Mina. She puts Granbull's pokeball away and pulls out her last one; she tosses it, releasing her Ribombee. "Use Pollen Puff!" Ribombee creates a purple ball of fluff and launches it at Raichu, hitting him, and dealing enough super effective damage to knock him out.
"Don't give up, Jimmy!" said Maxiley.
"You can do it!" said Sarah. Jimmy returns his Raichu to his pokeball.
"You were great, Raichu." said Jimmy. He puts Raichu's pokeball back on his waist and pulls another one off; he tosses it, releasing his Butterfree. "Butterfree, use Air Slash!" Butterfree flaps his wings, releasing a blade of air that hits Ribombee, dealing super effective damage, and making it flinch. "Now use Psybeam!" Butterfree fires a beam of psychic energy from his wings that hit Ribombee.
"Ribombee, use Dazzling Gleam!" said Mina. Ribombee releases a bright flash of light that damages Butterfree.
"Butterfree, use Air Slash one more time!" said Jimmy. Butterfree hits Ribombee with another air blade, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"Jimmy won!" said Ed.
"Splendid work." said Edd.
"I knew he could do it!" said Sarah. Jimmy returns his Butterfree to his pokeball while Mina returns her Ribombee to its pokeball.
"You were wonderful, Ribombee." said Mina. She puts Ribombee's pokeball away and gives Jimmy the same kind of petal she gave Sarah; Mina then looks at the Eds. "Who will I be battling next?"
"Me!" said Ed as he runs over to where Jimmy was.
"I will get my Pokemon treated and we will battle." said Mina.
Sarah and Jimmy have defeated Mina. Now Ed will test his skills against her. Will he and the rest of the Eds win? Wait and find out.
