Simon gets Started
In the Grand Underground, Lincoln and Luna's family, along with Clyde's dads, and Stella's parents just went through one of Lisa's portals back to their dimension; after it disappears, the group decides what to do next.
"I want to check this place out with my sister." said Simon.
"You can also find some more Pokemon you can use." suggested Lincoln. He reaches into his backpack and pulls out some empty pokeballs that he gives to Simon.
"Thanks." said Simon.
"What are you rest of you gonna do?" asked Sam.
"I'm gonna head to the Pokemon Center and trade my Staravia for my Dratini." said Lincoln. "Gonna sell all my bottlecaps; after that, I'm gonna train my Pokemon for a while."
"I'll train mine also." said Clyde.
"Me, too." said Luna.
"I want to do that also, and come up with some new performances for my next Pokemon Contest." said Stella.
"So will I." said Dawn.
"I'll be right back." said Lincoln as he starts to head back to the ladder, leading up to the surface; as he passes by Stella, she decides to be playful and pats Lincoln's butt, making his face turn completely red. After he gets over his awkwardness and everyone else, but Dawn, chuckling, he heads up to the Pokemon Center.
"Let's go do our things while Lincoln's making the swap." said Sam as she and Simon head off into the Grand Underground.
"We'll meet up near the ladder in two hours." said Luna.
"You got it." said Clyde.
Sam and Simon enter an area that was barren with a few rocks all over the place. They look around until they spot a small, quadrupedal Pokemon that an oval-shaped metal covering with holes, including two eyeholes, covering its head, along with a metal plate on its back with a few more holes and a protrusion sticking up from it.
"What's that?" asked Simon. Sam takes out her pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Aron, the Iron Armor Pokemon. It usually lives deep in mountains. But when it's hungry, it shows up at the foot of the mountains and eats railroad tracks and cars." said Sam's pokedex.
"Sounds like it gets a lot of iron in its diet." said Sam. "Man; Luna's sister, Luan, must be rubbing off on me."
"You think I can have this one?" asked Simon.
"Sure, bro." said Sam. Simon takes his pokeball out of his pocket and tosses it, releasing his Totodile. After Sam reminds her brother what moves his Pokemon knows, Simon gets ready for battle.
"Totodile, use... uh... Mud-Slap?" Simon says. Totodile flings some mud at the Aron, dealing super effective damage, as well as lowering its accuracy.
"Good move, bro." said Sam, making Simon smile. The Aron charges at Totodile and runs past him, making it run into a rock by mistake.
"Totodile, use Water Gun!" said Simon. Totodile looks towards Aron who was turning towards him and hits it with a blast of water, dealing super effective damage, and knocking it down.
"Try catching it now, Simon!" said Sam. Simon takes an empty pokeball out of his pocket and throws it at the Aron, hitting it, and sucking it in; the pokeball wiggles a few times before it clicks.
"I caught Aron!" said Simon. Sam looks up her brother's new Pokemon on her pokedex.
"This says your Aron's a boy, he knows Tackle, Harden, Metal Claw, Rock Tomb, Roar, and Headbutt; he has the Sturdy ability which makes it so he can't be knocked out in one hit if he's at full strength." said Sam.
"Huh?" Simon replied.
"Don't worry about it." said Sam. "Lincoln and I will teach you everything we know as we travel together."
"Thanks." said Simon.
After Lincoln got his Dratini from storage, he goes to the PokeMart to sell all his bottlecaps for pokedollars; after that, he returns to the Grand Underground to train up his Pokemon.
His Monferno learned Feint, his Hisuian Zorua learned Slash, his Shieldon learned Iron Defense and Swagger, his Espeon learned Baby-Doll Eyes, Mimic, and Psychic, his Buizel learned Aqua Jet, and his Dratini got stronger.
At a cavern with sand and rocks, Clyde was training his Pokemon with Dawn training hers.
Clyde's Gallade learned Protect, his Psyduck learned Aqua Tail, his Leafeon got stronger, his Ninjask and Shedinja both learned Absorb, and his Absol got stronger.
Dawn spent most of her time training her new Cyndaquil; during the training, her Cyndaquil began to glow.
"Hey; Cyndaquil's evolving." said Dawn. She and Clyde watched as Cyndaquil began to grow; when Cyndaquil stopped glowing, she now had a long, slender body, triangular ears with red interiors, two red circles on top of its head and three on its rear, and red, triangular eyes. Dawn points her pokedex at her newly-evolved Cyndaquil.
"Quilava, the Volcano Pokemon and the evolved form of Cyndaquil. It intimidates foes with the heat of its flames. The fire burns stronger as it prepares to fight." said Dawn's pokedex.
"Wow." said Dawn. She spent time training Quilava and she learned Flame Wheel. Her Piplup learned Brine, her Sylveon got stronger, her Pachirisu learned Electro Ball, and her Buneary learned Charm.
Stella was in a cavern with several ponds, trees, and rocks, looking around.
"This place looks very nice." said Stella. She takes the time to train her Pokemon.
Her Roserade, Eevee, and Torchic got stronger, her Beautifly learned Mega Drain, and her Corsola learned Ancient Power and Bubble Beam. During the training, her Torchic began to evolve.
"Wow, Torchic's evolving." said Stella. She watched as Torchic began to grow; when she stopped glowing, she now resembled a bipedal chicken with a yellow upper body, arms with long claws at the end of them, an orange lower body with gray, scaly bird legs, and three orange feathers on top of her head.
"Hey, Stella." said Lincoln who just entered the cavern.
"Hey, Lincoln; my Torchic evolved." said Stella, pointing at her newly-evolved Torchic. Lincoln points his pokedex at the Pokemon.
"Combusken, the Young Fowl Pokemon and the evolved form of Torchic. Its kicking mastery lets it loose 10 kicks per second. It emits sharp cries to intimidate foes." said Lincoln's pokedex.
"This says your Combusken is part fire, part fighting type, and she learned Double Kick when she evolved." said Lincoln.
"Awesome." said Stella.
With the Sharp siblings, they were looking around a cavern with lava in it.
"Be careful when walking around her, little bro." said Sam.
"You too, Sam." said Simon, making Sam smile. Simon suddenly sees a sluglike Pokemon that appeared to be made of lava, crawling by a lavabank. "Hey, what's that?" Sam sees the Pokemon; she takes out her pokedex and points it at the Pokemon.
"Slugma, the Lava Pokemon. Its body is made of magma. If it doesn't keep moving, its body will cool and harden." said Sam's pokedex.
"Your Totodile should have the advantage over Slugma like he did Aron." said Sam. Simon nods and tosses Totodile's pokeball, releasing him.
"Okay, Totodile, use Water Gun!" said Simon. Totodile fires a stream of water out of his mouth and it hits Slugma, dealing super effective damage. The Slugma launches a fireball out of its mouth and it hits Totodile, but not dealing much damage to it.
"That looked like a fire type move; good thing those don't work well against water type Pokemon." said Sam.
"Use Mud-Slap!" said Simon. Totodile fires a stream of mud out of his mouth and it hits Slugma, dealing super effective damage; Slugma collapses onto the ground.
"I think it's weak enough now, Simon." said Sam. Simon takes out an empty pokeball and throws it at Slugma, hitting it, and sucking it in; it wiggled around a few times until it clicked. "Good work, Simon."
"Yes!" said Simon before walking to Slugma's pokeball and picking it up. Sam uses her pokedex to look up Slugma's information.
"This says your Slugma's boy, he knows Yawn, Smog, Ember, Rock Throw, Harden, and Incinerate; he has the Flame Body ability which has a chance of burning a Pokemon that attacks him physically." said Sam. Totodile suddenly begins to glow. "Hey, Totodile's evolving."
"What does that mean?" asked Simon as he watched Totodile grow.
"That means he's becoming a different Pokemon; they do that when they get enough battling experience." replied Sam. When Totodile stopped glowing, a yellow lower jaw, a yellow pattern on his torso, he had red spikes on his head, shoulders, and a diamond shaped one on the end of his tail, and black marking around his eyes. Sam points her pokedex at Simon's newly-evolved Totodile.
"Croconaw, the Big Jaw Pokemon and the evolved form of Totodile. Once it bites down, it won't let go until it loses its fangs. New fangs quickly grow into place." said Sam's pokedex.
"Cool!" said Simon.
Sam spent some time training her Pokemon also; her Prinplup learned Swagger, her Luxio learned Roar, her Kricketune learned Focus Energy, her Golbat, Eevee, and Onix got stronger.
Luna trained her Pokemon in the cavern with large crystals. Her Geodude got stronger, her Grotle learned Bite, her Hisuian Sneasel and Eevee got stronger, her Aipom learned Screech, and her Rotom learned Electro Ball. During the trainer, her Geodude began to grow.
"Rockin; Geodudette's evolving." said Luna. She watched as her Geodude began to grow; when she stopped glowing, Geodudette was now bigger, had four arms, and two legs. "Wish my bro, Sam, or Dawn was here with their pokedexes so I can know what Geodudette's now."
At a tunnel, Sam and Simon were walking down a tunnel on their way to the ladder that lead to the surface when Sam sees a bulge on the tunnel wall. Sam reaches into the Explorers Kit and pulls out a mattock.
"What are you doing, sis?" asked Simon.
"There's sometimes valuable items in these tunnel walls." replied Sam. She begins picking at the bulge with the mattock until she uncovered a Star Piece. "Wow, a Star Piece."
"Is it valuable?" asked Simon.
"Totally; it's worth 12,000 pokedollars." replied Sam.
"Whoa." said Simon with awe. As he watched Sam pull the Star Piece out of the wall, he sees something blue mostly covered by the wall. "What's that blue thing?" Sam looks to see it; she begins picking at the wall until a blue tablet was revealed.
"Whoa, a Splash Plate." said Sam.
"What does that do?" asked Simon.
"Any Pokemon holding it has the power of its water type moves increased." replied Sam. She pulled the Splash Plate out of the wall and holds it out towards Simon. "Here; let Croconaw hold this."
"You sure?" asked Simon.
"Yeah; you saw it first." replied Sam. Simon smiles and takes the Splash Plate; he lets Croconaw out of his pokeball and gives the Splash Plate to him. After Simon returns Croconaw to its pokeball, the Sharp siblings begin walking down the tunnel.
Later, everyone met at the surface leading to the surface.
"So, how did everyone do today?" asked Lincoln.
"Little bro caught a couple of Pokemon." replied Sam.
"Sis also found a Star Piece and a Splash Plate; she let me give the Splash Plate to Croconaw." said Simon.
"Croconaw?" asked Dawn.
"My Totodile evolved." replied Simon.
"Wow, congratulations, Simon." said Dawn, leaning close to Simon, smiling, making Simon blush.
"And Geodudette evolved." said Luna, letting her newly-evolved Geodude out of her pokeball. Sam takes out her pokedex and points it at the newly evolved Geodude.
"Graveler, the Rock Pokemon and the evolved form of Geodude. It tumbles down slopes, heedless of any body parts chipping off. It eats a ton of rocks daily." said Sam's pokedex.
"What do you guys wanna do now?" asked Lincoln.
"Let's head back to the surface and get our Pokemon treated." said Sam.
"Good idea." said Clyde.
The group make their way back to the ladder and climb it back to the surface; once they do, they go right to the Eterna City Pokemon Center.
"What's this place?" asked Simon.
"It's a place go to get their Pokemon healed." said Sam. "They also have free rooms and food for trainers who are on the road."
The group give the nurse their Pokemon and have dinner together.
Later, everyone gets ready for bed, with Simon wanting to sleep with his sister, which was allowed.
"Night, sis." Simon says to his sister.
"Night, bro." Sam replied.
The group has had a long day in the Grand Underground. What will they do as their Sinnoh adventure continues?
