A'N: Couldn't wait for you to find out who took them. Did anyone guess? We will learn why in the next chapter. NC
Chapter 9
John and Charlie looked toward the door when someone knocked. He got up to answer it and let Asa into the room.
"I got back as quickly as I could," Asa told them as he sat his bag down. "Any news yet?"
"No, we went to the cops and filed the paperwork to get them looking for Dean and Sam," John replied.
"I'm in their systema and keeping track of anything new they find," Charlie offered as she jumped from one search engine to another.
"Mary said to keep her in the loop and if there's anything she can do or if you need something from her, let her know."
"I'll do that. I'll call her later and fill her in."
"She's worried about Dean and Sam, and also you."
"I know, I know," John sighed wiping a hand down his face. Not having Mary with him made it harder because he knew how upset she was too.
"Do we have any idea at all why someone would kidnap them?"
"I have been racking my brain about that. I thought maybe it was something I did, but I can't think of anyone whom I've wronged that would go to this extreme," John explained. "Do either of you know if my boys had any disagreements with someone lately?"
"Not that I know of," Charlie answered.
"No, I can't think of anyone. If there had been a confrontation with someone, I think they would have talked to me. I'm like an older brother to them and they tend to tell me things," Asa replied with a shrug not wanting to seem too bold or upset John by his remark. Sometimes guys wouldn't tell their father things and confided in someone else.
"Then what other reason would they be taken?"
"What if it's something entirely off the wall?" Charlie offered causing John and Asa to turn to look at her. "They had on their search and rescue jackets that anyone would recognize. What if it's to do with what we do?"
"I'm not sure I'm following you," John told her.
"What if someone needed a search and rescue team for something illegal? Maybe they wanted to find something and needed their skills," she shrugged. "It's just a thought."
"It's not all that farfetched," Asa offered, agreeing with Charlie.
"Look, I'm going to go get us some dinner. I need to get some air anyway. Charlie why don't you get a room and Asa can room with me?" John said.
"I'll get you a room," Charlie replied. "Asa and I always bunk together." She didn't want to tell John they knew how loudly he snored and always let him get his own room.
"Fine, I'll be back." John picked up a room key and car keys and headed out the door. He was too distraught to argue with her.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" Asa asked Charlie after John left.
"I'm trying to find any other cameras that might have caught the van leaving to see which way they went. It's not much but it would at least give us a general direction."
"I'll go to the office and get John a single room then. He'll do better with having his own space."
"I agree and besides you don't want to listen to him snore all night," Charlie snickered.
"I'll never tell him that," Asa chuckled.
"Hurry back."
Asa headed for the motel office to get the room hoping he could get something close to the one they already had. He was worried about the brothers and what could be happening to them. This seemed like a random act of violence and the brothers were in the wrong place at the wrong time, but he could be wrong.

Scratching at the door and locks being thrown had the brothers up and facing it, waiting to see who it was. Dean stood slightly in front of Sam determined to protect him if need be. He had been doing that his entire life and wasn't going to stop now. Both stiffened as the door was opened and a masked man stepped in far enough to drop bags on the floor and sit drinks beside them.
"Who are you and what do you want with us?" Dean demanded in a growl.
"Eat," the masked man grunted before slamming the door shut and locking it.
"Well, might as well see what he brought us," Dean said. He stepped to the door to pick up the bags and the carton with drinks. "I think this is breakfast since the drinks are coffee."
"There's breakfast sandwiches in this bag," Sam told him when he investigated one of the bags. He sat on the bed and began to pull wrapped food from the bag to divide between them. Sam unwrapped one and opened the bread to smell it before taking a bite.
"It's cold, but I guess I can't complain," Dean frowned as he chewed. "They're at least feeding us something, so they want us alive."
"Haven't you wondered why?"
Dean stopped chewing and looked over at his brother before swallowing and speaking.
"Yeah, it has crossed my mind. I mean, it can't be for ransom. Mom and Dad are okay financially but they're not rich. We're not some hotshot playboys with money to burn, so why us?"
"Could they have mistaken us for someone else?"
"How? In yellow jackets that say search and rescue on them in big black letters. I find that highly unlikely. There's something else going on here that we're missing."
"Hope Mom and Dad are holding up okay," Sam sighed softly. He hated to worry their mom like this but there wasn't anything he could do about it right now.
"Listen to me Sammy," Dean whispered as he leaned closer to him, as his eyes darted around the room. They looked the room over but didn't find any hidden cameras or mics. "If there's a chance for you to escape, you get your ass out of here. Don't be worrying about me."
"No way!" Sam adamantly responded as he shook his head. "I couldn't do that."
"You have to. You can bring help back for me. I don't think they'll kill me until they get something."
"Only if you agree to run if you get a chance and leave me," Sam told him in a stubborn voice. "If either of us get a chance, we need to take it. Like you said, they need us for something and maybe one will be enough."
Dean pinched his lips together in a tight line and glared annoyedly at Sam for being so stubborn. He wanted his brother out of harm's way if possible and was willing to take the consequences from the kidnappers. With a huff of air, he looked hard at his brother and saw the bitch face Sam gave him.
"Fine," he finally snarked knowing there was no changing his brother's mind. "If either of us can get away we have to try. And bring help back."
"Good, now that that's settled, let's finish eating. We don't know when we'll get another meal." Dean bit off another large bite of his sandwich and chomped loudly making Sam stare at him in disgust.
"Is there any creamer or sugar for the coffee?" Sam asked looking in the other bag and drink container. He finally found a tiny creamer and used it, thinking it was better than nothing.
After the brothers finished eating, they again began to search the room looking for weak spots, or anything that they could use to break out, but came up short. Even the cots didn't yield any useable pieces, plus they were bolted to the floor. With nothing else to do, Dean led them through a few exercises to keep them limber and get the stiffness from their bodies.
They didn't know how much time had passed when the door opened again and two masked, burly men stepped into the room. They motioned for them to hold their arms out and zip tied their wrist together. When that was done, they were roughly pushed from the room and down a hallway to another part of the building.
Dean tried to see out the windows they passed but couldn't see anything to tell them where they were. He snarled at one of the men when they pushed Sam too hard almost making him stumble and fall. He grabbed Sam's arm to help him as they finally stepped into a room that had nice furniture scattered about.
"H'llo, boys," a man with a British accent greeted them as he stepped from the shadows. He was dressed in a dark three-piece suit and admitted an air of authority. His looks and demur told the brothers he was the boss and the one who had them kidnapped.
