Brisbane City:
The Ambulance arrived at the scene as the paramedics tend to Chilli's unconscious injured body which was strapped down on the backboard wearing a neckbrace. The paramedics pick up Chilli onto the stretcher and buckle her up, sticking cardiac wirings on her chest and abdomen and puts an oxygen mask on her muzzle to help her breathe. Bandit and the girls watched as the paramedics load up Chilli into the ambulance.
"Do you guys want to come inside with us?" One of the paramedics said to Bandit and the girls wondering if they would like to ride in the ambulance with Chilli. "Yes, Please." Bandit said in response. "Come on, Girls." Bandit helps Bluey and Bingo in the ambulance as he climbs in with them. The paramedic closes the doors and the vehicle drives off.
Inside the Ambulance:
Bandit and the girls sat in the side of the ambulance as the paramedic tends to Chilli as she was still unconscious and hasn't moved a muscle. "Dad? Is mum gonna be okay?" Bluey said as she comforts her little sister Bingo who was crying. "I hope so, mate." Bandit replied as he puts his arm around Bluey comforting her. "Well, Her heart's normal. But her blood pressure is very high." The paramedic said look at Chilli's vital signs. "Really? How high is it?" Bandit said out of curiosity.
"I would say...above 180/120."
Bandit gasps in horror wondering how could his wife's blood pressure become severely high. Then Chilli groans as she begins to wake up from her unconscious state. "Look! She's waking up!" Bluey said in excitement to see her mother wake up. "Hey, Chilli." Bandit said in a soft tone happy to see his wife awake. Chilli coughs and looks around wondering where she was. She then raises her left arm trying pull to IV off of her right arm out of confusion. "Woah, Woah! Settle down mate! Your just in the ambulance!" The paramedic said trying to calm Chilli down. Chilli then tries to pull the neckbrace off with both her hands and starts to loose control. "Chilli! Chilli! Relax! It's Okay!" Bandit said grabbing both his wife's arms trying to stop her from hurting herself. However, Chilli didn't know how to relax especially in a situation like this. "Chilli! Settle down! Just calm down! I'm here for you. Everything's gonna be okay. Look, Bluey and Bingo are here too." Bandit said petting his wife's head trying to help her relax. "Hi, Mum." Bluey said gently waving at her mother. Chilli looks at both her daughters and finally starts to calm down. She reaches her hand out wanting to hold Bluey's hand. Bluey then holds her mother's hand and begins to smile.
Outside of Brisbane hospital:
"Alright, We're Here". The paramedic said as the ambulance arrived at the hospital. The other paramedic opens the doors and grabs the stretcher. Chilli's hand slips off of Bluey's hand as the paramedics load her out of the ambulance. Chilli moans in sadness as her arm was still out reaching her daughter. "Come On Mates! Let's go!" Bandit said as he gets Bluey and Bingo out of the ambulance. They get off and run for Chilli who was being halted out by the paramedics.
Inside Brisbane hospital:
The Paramedics rushed inside the hospital with Chilli who was wailing in fear and possibly pain as Bandit was holding Bingo in his right arm as she cries and Bluey's hand with his left hand as the three hear Chilli wail. It was a wail that Bandit has never heard his wife make before. Chilli has cried in the past but never to the point where she made a loud wail. "Okay, What do we got?" Dr. Shepherd said as he grabbed on to the stretcher. "We have a 43 year old female named Chilli Heeler who a was hit by a pick up truck while having a mental health episode. She has 2 rib fractures as well as a concussion. She has a broken left foot and has severe high blood pressure." The paramedic said he and Dr. Shepherd rush Chilli inside the emergency room.
Bandit and the girls try to run inside with Chilli but are blocked off by Dr. Shepherd. "I'm sorry sir, But you and your daughters are gonna have to wait outside in the waiting room." Dr. Shepherd said as he blocks the family from going inside. "But that's my wife in there! I need to be with her!" Bandit said trying to get in the room to see Chilli. "Sir, If you do not cooperate, I'm going to have to call security to escort you out of the building." Dr. Shepherd said as the shuts the door on Bandit's face. Bandit looks in dispair hugging Bluey with his arm as she tears up.
Dr. Shepherd then turns around to check on his patient. He and the nurses unbuckle Chilli as she coughs uncontrollably struggling to catch her breath whilst still laying on her back. Dr. Shepherd puts on the stethoscope to his ears and puts it on Chilli's ribs to listen to her lungs. "Yep, I could feel the broken ribs." Dr. Shepherd said as he puts his hand on Chilli's ribs feeling the fractures. "Right, Let's roll her over to her side." Dr. Shepherd said telling the nurses to roll Chilli over to her side to check on her spine. The nurses then roll the injured red heeler to her side as she groans in pain. Dr. Shepherd puts two fingers onto Chilli's spine causing her to groan even louder indicating that she had injured her back. Chilli then starts to hear the voices in her head again. "Look at what you've done. You literally tried to kill yourself in front of your own family. "How do you think your other two children feel? Having to watch their mother carelessly run into the street and get run over. You're nobody to them." Dr. Shepherd then sticks a syringe into Chilli's back causing her to scream in immense pain.
Waiting Room:
Bandit and the girls were sitting in the waiting room. Bluey and Bingo were holding on to each other as they both were still crying. Bandit was sitting forward with both his hands crossed waiting for the results of his wife's mental health and physical health.
Chilli's big sister Brandy and her Father Mort rush inside the waiting room. "Bandit!" Brandy said as she ran towards Bandit with tears in her eyes. "Brandy!" Bandit said as he and the girls get up from the chairs. Brandy hugs Bandit very tightly as she tears fall from her eyes. "I just got your text! Where's Chilli!? Is She Okay!?" Brandy said wondering if her little sister was alright. Bandit holds Brandy shoulder to calm her down. "We're still waiting for the results." Bandit said in response. Brandy hangs her head down starts crying as Mort walks to his daughter to console her.
"Mr. Heeler?" Dr. Shepherd said walking towards the family to tell them the results. Brandy then runs to the Doctor. "Is Chilli Okay!? Please Tell Me She's Okay! Brandy said gripping onto the doctor's white coat. "Chilli is alive, She's stable." Dr Shepherd said calmly as he takes both Brandy's hands off his coat. "However, Some of her injuries are pretty critical and I can't say that she's capable to be on her own. Brandy and the family gasps in horror and Brandy starts to cry. "Can we please see her?" Brandy said in desperation wanting to see her sister. "Yes, If you could simply follow me." Dr Shepherd leads family to the room where Chilli is kept in.
Chilli's Hospital Room:
Dr. Shepherd opens the door to the hospital room to let the family in to see Chilli. Chilli was quietly laying on the hospital bed on her back with an IV attached to her arm. She was wearing a neckbrace and had an oxygen mask on her muzzle as well as bandages wrapped around her broken ribs and on her left foot. "Chilli!" Brandy yelled as she ran towards sister holding her hand.
Brandy then pets Chilli's head begins to cry some more. "Oh, Chilli." Chilli begins to cough as she stares at her big sister with a blank expression not having a reaction. "So, As you can see she has a serious neck injury as well as some broken ribs and a broken foot. Because her ribs are broken she might struggle to catch her breath from time to time. But she will still make a full recovery though. However, We did end up diagnosing her with postpartum psychosis, Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia ,and PTSD." Dr. Shepherd said walking right next to Brandy to describe Chilli's condition.
Mort also walks towards Chilli's bed. "Aw, Chilli my sweetheart." Mort said petting Chilli's shoulder. Bandit and his daughters walk up to see Chilli as well. "Hey, Honey." Chilli starts to shed a tear from her eye.
"Also, We just discovered that she has a heart condition so she's going to have to undergo surgery." The family could not believe what they're hearing. Listening to all these mental and physical problems Chilli has and now having to undergo surgery as the icing on the cake. The Cake of Pure Hell.
"The surgery will start tomorrow afternoon."
"Oh No, I just realized I have work tomorrow. I won't be able to be there before hand." Bandit said saddened that he won't be able to support his wife since he has to go to his job as an archaeologist.
"Aw, It's okay Bandit, I'll look after the girls and I'll keep you updated. Brandy said offering to take care of Bluey and Bingo while Bandit is gone.
"Aw, Thanks Brandy I appreciate" Bandit said giving Brandy a hug. "Okay girls, It's getting late. Say bye to your mother."
"But, I don't want to leave Mum." Bluey said not wanting to leave the hospital. "Yeah, Me too." Bingo replied"
"I'm sorry girls, but we have to go. I have to get ready for work tomorrow."
Bluey and Bingo go up to their mother to say bye. "Bye Mum, We love you and we'll miss you. Bluey said as she and Bingo give their mother a kiss on the forehead but Chilli didn't respond to them as she was starting to be in denial.
"Just hang in there sis, I'll take good care of the girls and I'll see you before surgery, Okay?" Brandy said giving her sister a kiss on her forehead. "Bye Sweetie." Mort said to Chilli giving her a kiss as well.
"Bye Honey, I'll miss you and the girls." Bandit said petting his wife and giving her a kiss.
"Okay girls, Let's go." Bandit said walking his daughters out of the hospital room.
The Heeler Household:
It was 9:00 pm and Bandit was tucking his daughter's into their bed getting ready to go to sleep. "Goodnight Bingo." Bandit said tucking in Bingo with the blanket. Then he goes to Bluey's room to say goodnight. "Goodnight Bluey." Bandit said tucking his daughter to bed. "Um Dad, Why did Mum run into the street like that?" Bluey said wondering why would her mother do something so dangerous. "Well, I think your mother just wasn't in the right frame of mind." Bandit said trying to explain to his Bluey about his wife mental state. "What do you mean she wasn't in the right frame of mind?" Bluey said in curiosity not understanding what her father meant by that. "Well, You know how you're not supposed to run into the middle of the street?" Bandit said. "Yeah, because I know it's dangerous to run in the street." Bluey responded.
"Well, Something in your mother's mind just made her go crazy and not thinking that running into the street isn't a smart thing to do. Bandit said explaining to Bluey that even though Chilli knew better than to not run into to street. Her mental state took control of her mind causing her to not think clearly.
"So, Something in her mind made her run into the street?" Bluey said in sadness. Yeah, unfortunately but hopefully the hospital will give her the help she needs. Now get some rest okay, mate?" Bandit said get up in his feet to let Bluey sleep. "Okay, Goodnight Dad." Bluey said getting ready to sleep. "Goodnight Bluey." Bandit then shuts the light and closes the door.
