I Know You Can Dance
Warning: Love scene
Kelsi slid her feet into her low wedge heels and shrugged at her appearance. Her reflection in the mirror seemed like a stranger, a girl completely foreign to dressing up like this. A sigh escaped as she ran a hand through her hair, the disappointment settling heavy in her chest. Jason had promised a fun night out, and for a second, the idea of dancing the night away had pushed aside all her anxieties. But now, staring at her reflection, doubt crept back in. At least her eyes had returned to normal after she had fought with her contacts, she didn't want her glasses to get in the way of anything tonight. She heaved a sigh and made her way downstairs, settling in at the kitchen island as her dad filled a water bottle at the sink.
"Alright K, I'm off to bowling," Steven announced as he turned to face her. "Don't you look nice," he said with a smile, grabbing his bowling bag and giving her a quick hug.
Kelsi shrugged. "Thanks, Dad. I guess it'll do."
Steven raised an eyebrow. "Got some plans, huh? With that Jason fellow again?"
Kelsi blushed slightly, confirming his suspicion. "Yeah, we're going dancing."
"Sounds nice, don't stay up too late!"
"Dad, I'm twenty-three, not twelve," Kelsi rolled her eyes playfully, though a smile tugged at her lips.
"Doesn't matter how old you are, you're still my little girl," Steven retorted with a wink. "And remember, if anyone gives you any trouble, you just call, and I'll be there faster than you can say 'strike'." He flexed his bicep, causing Kelsi to laugh.
"Okay, Dad, I got it," she assured him. "Have fun with your bowling buddies."
"Will do. Love you, K!" he called over his shoulder.
"Love you too, Dad!" she called back as he closed the door behind him. With her dad gone, the house felt strangely quiet. Kelsi took a deep breath, smoothing down her skirt and checking her make-up in the hall mirror one last time. She glanced at the clock, her anticipation growing. Any minute now...
A loud honk from outside made her jump. He's here, she thought, jumping off the island stool. She grabbed her purse and rushed to the door, excitement bubbling within her as she stepped out and quickly locked the door. When she turned around, she stopped dead in her tracks for a moment at the sight of Jason waiting for her, a pang of insecurity creeping through her as her gaze snagged on his appearance. His hips were snugged into a pair of dark jeans and rested against the fender of a jet black muscle car. A maroon t-shirt showed under a tan sports jacket that hugged his toned arms crossed in front of him, mirroring his casually crossed feet that donned a pair of skate sneakers. His outfit was like a grown up version of his high school style, and now he looked intimidatingly handsome. His soft brown eyes met hers and a wide grin lit up his face, the hint of appreciation making a blush creep into her cheeks. As their eyes locked, a flicker of excitement ignited in her chest, he looked just as happy to see her as she was to see him.
Jason couldn't stop smiling as his eyes moved subtlety up and down, taking her in as she ventured towards him. He stared for a long moment at how her heels made her legs look practically endless, leading up to a loose skirt that sat just above her knees. A patterned purple shirt peeked out from under her cardigan with a gold and purple broach pinned to the side. She had let her hair down to her shoulders in soft curls and she wasn't wearing her glasses, probably to be ready for the night of dancing he had promised.
"Wow," he said, "you dressed to kill, and you're gonna start with me."
Kelsi blushed, it had been a while since a guy gave her a compliment like that. "Geez, do you use that line often?" she chuckled, making him rub his neck nervously.
"Uh no, just waiting for you I guess," he answered.
"Well thanks, you're not so bad yourself," she replied with a smile.
He stepped towards her and placed a quick but confident kiss on her cheek before he swept his arm towards the passenger door. "Shall we?"
She followed his invitation and couldn't help recognizing his car. "Nice Mach 1. 1970?"
Jason had one hand on the passenger door to open it for her but stopped and turned to give her a surprised expression. "Yeah, you caught that pretty quick. How'd you know the year?"
"Well the name is on the door," she said with a smirk, "but those hood pins, they only came on the '70 Mach 1 model."
Jason looked back at her with intrigue. "Well this is a surprise," he chuckled softly, "I've never had a date who knew anything about cars."
Kelsi looked away and quickly tried to think of a way to dismiss her comments, but the look of genuine curiosity on his face told her that she could be honest with him. "Well my mom worked weird hours at the hospital, so I used to hang out with my dad at the shop instead of being home alone. Picked up a lot of stuff about cars I guess," she explained as she nervously pushed a loose curl behind her ear.
Jason could see she was shy about it, but he could see she was also pretty interested as she looked down the sleek lines of the body. "Did you want to have a look under the hood?" She raised her eyes to look at him and gave him an excited nod, but stood patiently in front of the hood, hugging herself to hold back how intrigued she was. "Can you get those for me?" he asked, nodding at the hood pins as he passed. He stepped quickly to the drivers side and leaned in to spring the hood. He thought he might see if she would open up a bit more about what she knew, and as he watched her make quick work of unlatching the hood pins, he had to snap his gaze away from staring at her. He strolled back towards the front of the car, practically tripping over his own feet as he watched her ease the hood up over her head.
"Cleveland V8, four barrel, impressive," she mumbled to herself as she leaned over the block, "M-code?" Her inquiry flowed so innocently and genuinely across her lips, but Jason was dumbstruck.
He shook his head, trying to form an answer. "Uh yeah, M-Code, 5.8L. It was my nonno's, my grandfather's," he answered, correcting his use of the Italian term he was used to.
"Was?" Kelsi asked.
"He passed away a couple years ago, cancer. He left this to me. We used to work on it a lot together, he knew how much I loved it. Not the best on gas, but I'll never give it up," he said as he ran his hand affectionately over the front grill.
"I'm sorry to hear that, must've been a great guy, great taste in cars that's for sure," Kelsi replied with a soft squeeze on his arm.
He smiled at her comforting gesture and reached to put the hood down. "Well what do you say I fire it up and we get going?" She smiled and took off for the passenger door. When they had both climbed in, he put his hand to the ignition and paused to turn to her. "Seatbelts please," he said with a silly smile.
Kelsi was already pulling hers on. "At 300 horse, you know it," she mumbled and settled back in the black leather seat.
"Damn," Jason whispered to himself with a sharp exhale as he turned the key and let those horses run.
"What?" Kelsi asked.
"I guess no one has ever told you how hot it is that you like cars?" he asked without taking his eyes off the road. "How did I not know this about you? We should have ended up in the same shop class at school."
She looked down at her skirt and tugged nervously at the hem. "I didn't take shop, just learned from my dad. Guess I never told anyone, never came up with other guys I've gone out with. Either they didn't like cars or they didn't think I would."
He shifted into third as he picked up more speed. A weeknight in Albuquerque was usually pretty tame, but her deadly look was still threatening to take control of his attention. "Well I'm glad you do, if there's anything you want to know about this rig, just ask." He breathed a heavy exhale to release the pent up tension of keeping his mind on the road when he finally pulled into the parking lot at Leo's. It had been a fifteen minute drive of casual conversation about each of their days, but it felt like moments with how she fully engaged his attention. Jason stepped quickly to open the door for Kelsi, bringing a shy smile to her face as she swung her wedges out to the ground and took his outstretched hand.
"I'll have to keep a close eye on this tonight," she said as she pulled her purse up over her shoulder, immediately regretting bringing it.
"You could leave it here, just tuck it under the seat, I can carry your ID and phone if that would help."
She looked at the steady flow of people going in and out of the club and decided that was probably a good idea. She handed him her phone and he slid it into the inside pocket of his coat as she dug in her wallet for her ID, passing out her debit card along with it.
"That's a pretty mug shot," he said with a grin at her license. "And you can put that back, I'm buying," he added as he handed her debit card back.
"Are you sure? You got lunch yesterday."
"Yeah of course, wouldn't be much of a gentleman if I made you buy your own drink."
Playfully rolling her eyes at him, she decided not to fight, he was already being quite the gentleman so she might as well let him keep it up. She stowed her purse and stepped out of the way as he closed the door behind her.
"Besides, I'm driving so I won't be drinking," he said as he looped an arm around her shoulders, "and you look like a lightweight anyways, doubt you could run up too much of a tab."
She couldn't help but giggle at the playful squeeze on her arm, but of course he was right. The last time she'd gotten drunk it only took two glasses of wine and she was tipsy. The fourth had left her with a vicious hangover the next morning. She had discovered a hidden talent for throwing back tequila shots on her twenty-first birthday, but hardly wanted to fall into that tonight. They headed towards the front door of Leo's and showed their ID before Jason returned them to his pocket.
Pushing open the door, they were greeted by a wave of sound – a blend of salsa, bachata, and the occasional burst of Latin pop. The club itself wasn't huge, but it pulsed with energy. The dance floor sprawled in front of the bar where a few early partygoers danced under the warm glow of yellowed hanging lamps and swirling gobo lights. Along the brick walls, booths filled with patrons created a vibrant buzz of conversation punctuated by bursts of laughter. The bartenders, faces lit by the colourful cocktail displays behind them, expertly mixed drinks and swapped jokes with other patrons.
The air hung thick with the scent of spilled rum and something tropical. Jason quickly realized that the scent of rum was common in here, but the other aroma, coconut, was drifting off of Kelsi as he walked closely behind her.
She still wears it, he thought, a smile tugging at his lips. It was the same scent he remembered from years ago, more intoxicating now than any liquor ever could be. A wave of nostalgia washed over him as they made their way towards the bar, the familiar fragrance a subtle reminder of the girl who had captured his heart back then.
"Evening friends, what'll it be? For you miss?" a bartender asked.
"Just a beer, Budweiser if you have it," Kelsi replied. The bartender nodded and turned to Jason.
"And for you sir?"
"Whatever zero you've got for me, thanks. Driving." The bartender gave him a respectful nod and whizzed away to grab the drinks. "So still just a beer huh? No crazy fruity cocktails for you?" Jason said as he turned to Kelsi, a little surprised at her choice.
"Told you I hung out with my dad a lot," she replied as the bartender returned and slid their beers to them. She took a quick swig and turned to look out over the dance floor.
Jason took her hand to lead her over to an empty corner booth where they sat for a while, talking more about their days and sipping casually at their drinks.
"You know, most people can easily have one or two beers and drive, how come you always have a non-alcoholic? You a lightweight too?" she asked with a nudge at his side.
He chuckled and shook his head. "No, I can hold my own. My brother is a firefighter up in Colorado, he's just told me way too many stories about drunk driving accidents. I wouldn't want to end up in one of them." He took another sip of his drink as the music started to crank up louder and the DJ put out a call for everyone to get on the dance floor.
Sliding quickly out of the booth, Jason extended his hand to Kelsi. "Come on, I promised you a night of dancing."
Kelsi tipped her beer bottom up and drained the last of it before taking his hand and letting him pull her out of the seat. Her nerves needed all the help she could give them. "Do you mind if we stay out here?" she asked, her steps tentative to going further into the crowed.
"Sure, no problem," Jason replied as he raised her arm over her head and spun her once in front of him, taking in her beautiful form before moving into a comfortable groove of his own.
Kelsi felt a sense of ease as she started to dance with him, just like the other day, but this time the low tones of the sensual Latin rhythms made their dancing less than playful.
As the music thrummed, she circled her hips in slow waves to the music, her movements fluid and expressive. They followed the beat with a perfect sway, an invitation that Jason couldn't ignore.
He pulled her closer by those intoxicating hips, an embrace that sent a pleasurable jolt through her. Before he knew it, his hands had worked their way past her hips and he smoothed them over the curve of her behind.
She took a nervous breath in, trying to believe what was happening. Her embarrassment must have been showing on her face because he let out a nervous chuckle and started to draw his hands back.
"Sorry, I shouldn't have done that," he stammered.
"No, don't," she said softly, putting a hand on his wrist to keep his right where they were. "I don't mind." He smiled and she felt him pull her closer. "I like it actually... your hands all over me," she whispered in his ear before she spun around and let him wrap his arms around her from behind.
As they continued to move in time, his mind spun in surprise, their hips subtly grinding together. Her words beckoned him to let his hands wander to her waist, following its gentle curve as she responded to the beat and his touch. He let his cheek brush against hers until he couldn't resist a long and suggestive kiss below her ear.
Her breath caught in surprise, but she eased further back into his embrace, lifting her hand to caress his jaw as his hand slid down her hip to her thigh. Their bodies swayed together with the music, a slow, erotic movement that spoke volumes without needing words.
He raised her arm to spin her back to face him and brushed a strand of hair from her face, his calloused fingers lingering at her soft cheek for a beat too long. In that moment, the air crackled with desire, sending sparks through Kelsi's veins. Jason felt an ache deep in his chest, it was the same one he felt years ago. "Kelsi…" he breathed as he gazed into her eyes. Those beautiful green eyes were sparkling under the lights and her lips had parted ever so slightly, another silent invitation waiting, one he had waited years for.
"Mmm hmm?" she murmured softly, a question awaiting him to answer. He determined he would this time and leaned in to let his lips land on hers.
Her response was soft and hesitant, then quickly became eager and laced with passion, her grip tightening on his body. The world dissolved around them, making the music a distant hum, the lights a forgotten blur. All that existed was the press of his lips against hers and the spark that reignited a flame between them, one that had never died. It was different from any kiss either of them had ever had, yet strangely familiar, like a melody remembered from the past. With that kiss, the years of separation washed away, like they truly had a second chance at what could have been.
When they parted, Kelsi blushed heavily under his romantic gaze. "Wow," she whispered. It was all she could express after what she felt in that moment. The tenderness in his embrace as his hand moved to her back to pull her closer made her feel like she was right where she was meant to be.
"You can say that again," Jason replied with a soft smile.
Kelsi slid her arms around his neck and looked longingly into his eyes. "I will if you kiss me again." He let out a soft chuckle and leaned in for another.
"Wow," she said as their lips parted again, "Jason that felt…" She couldn't think of the words to describe, but he offered up a suggestion.
"Right?"
"Yeah, so right." They danced some more, and kissed even more, feeling as though they might be making up for lost time as the heat dialled up between them.
Jason held Kelsi close despite the throbbing bass that was making the other dancers go wild. He didn't want to be outside of a distance that wouldn't allow his hands or lips to be in some sort of contact with her body.
As the energy of the room ramped up with more blaring music, Kelsi began to feel the effects of the ticking clock and couldn't help letting out a small yawn.
"Getting tired?" Jason asked.
"A little," she said with a downcast expression.
"Let's get out of here then, we can come back another night," he replied, taking her hand and leading the way to the door.
When they stepped out into the warm night air, Kelsi let her head droop in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry, today was a long day, I shouldn't have agreed to this," she rambled, "I probably make a lousy date."
Jason raised her hand that he was still holding to his lips and gently kissed her knuckles. "Hey, don't say that," he replied, stepping closer to her, "you're an awesome date, and an incredible dancer." He moved closer yet again and laid another soft kiss on her cheek. "I'll get you home," he said and led the way to open the car door for her. "It's warm out tonight," he remarked, slipping off his sport coat. Before he forgot, he reached in his pocket for her phone and ID, "here don't want to forget those."
"Thanks." She took them and got distracted by his now exposed arms, toned to perfection. Looking quickly at her phone to rip her eyes away from him, she occupied herself with responding to a text from Martha while he slid into his seat. "Geez, no wonder I'm tired, it's almost midnight."
As they drove back, Jason reached over to take hold of her hand, barely brushing her fingers when someone cut him off and he needed to quickly shift gears. "Damn, stupid drivers," he muttered softly, gripping the gear shifter as he maneuvered the car safely onwards. A soft stroke of fingertips danced over his hand, calming his tensed grip as Kelsi established their connection again. He couldn't help but grin as he shifted gears again and her hand moved with him.
"Guess this is as close as I'll ever get to driving this thing, huh?" she giggled softly.
"Probably, that would be pretty big for me since I've never let anyone else drive it, but keep playing your cards right, I might come around eventually," he replied with a wink in her direction.
She laughed and carried on more conversation about the car until they pulled up outside of Kelsi's house. "Thanks for the night out, Jason," Kelsi said with a shy smile, "I had a great time even though I had to cut it short."
"That's okay," he said softly as they strolled hand in hand up the path to her front door. "I had a great time too."
Kelsi eased the door open quietly, her gaze meeting his. "Guess I should get inside," she said softly, a hint of reluctance in her voice.
Jason nodded, but didn't move. The memory of their intertwined bodies on the dance floor, the taste of her lips, burned bright in his mind. "Yeah," he breathed, "you should." A moment of charged silence hung between them, the air thick with desire. Kelsi's breath hitched as Jason leaned closer, his eyes locking onto hers. His gaze flickered to her lips, and without another word, he closed the distance between them. Their lips met in a kiss that was both tender and urgent, the pent-up passion of the night igniting into a fiery embrace. His arms wrapped around her waist, pulling her flush against him, deepening the kiss. Her hands found their way into his hair, tugging him closer as she melted into his embrace. He broke away at what felt like too soon, breathless and flushed. He could have kissed her all night with how wonderful it felt. Kelsi's eyes were wide, her lips swollen. Jason's chest heaved, his gaze fixed on her.
"I should go," he said, his voice raspy. He slowly let her go and she took a shy step back through the door. But he saw a new sparkle in her eyes. No, it was fiercer than that, more like a fire that hadn't been there before. Something shifted with that kiss and he knew he was in trouble when she grabbed a fistful of his t-shirt.
"Get in here," she demanded breathlessly.
Caught off guard by the sudden yank, a shiver ran down Jason's spine when she hauled him past the threshold. He barely got his arms out to try and avoid crashing into her, coming to a stop when both hands hit the wall on either side of her with a soft thud. "Kelsi! What the hell?!" he whispered with a small laugh in surprise.
She looked up at him with desperate eyes. "Shut up, Cross," she whispered back and stood up on her toes to kiss him passionately. He couldn't help returning it with fervour of his own, tracing his fingertips down her arms. Tenderly following the trail to her hand that still gripped his shirt, he pressed it tighter over his chest so that she would feel how she was making his heart race. They melted into each other's arms, pressing their bodies into one another as close as they could get. Jason was about to deepen the kiss when he pulled back sharply.
"Kelsi, your parents," he whispered, trying to pull away.
"Just keep quiet," she whispered as she reached to close the door without a sound, "they don't have to know." She slid both hands down his chest, eliciting a deep and slightly frustrated groan of arousal from him as she twisted the hem of his shirt. That suggestion was all he needed to jump back into another passionate kiss.
He let his hands wander down her slender frame, soon finding them wrapped around her hips and pulling her closer to the growing bulge in his jeans. With a quick stoop to grab her thighs, he hoisted her petite body up onto his hips, letting out a soft groan when she wrapped her legs tightly around his waist and her arms around his neck.
She broke away and let her head fall back against the wall as the pleasure of his hips grinding into hers started to take her over. "Jason…" she whispered, unable to form any other words as he kneaded her hips with his strong hands and placed soft kisses down her jaw to her neck. Her delicate fingers running through his hair quickly began to drive him crazy.
"Mmm?" he murmured in between rapid trailing kisses to her collarbone.
She brought her hands back to cup his face and directed him to look into her eyes. "Can we take this to my room?"
"Which way?" he replied before wrapping his arms around her back to support her body. She nodded in the direction of the stairs and he took off, tiptoeing as quietly as he could, still in his sneakers. Her door sat ajar, requiring just a nudge from his knee to drift open and reveal a double bed in her pristine room. He set her down and she closed the door soundlessly, leaning back into it as he cornered her against it. The moonlight streaming through the window illuminated her desperate features, her skin glowing with a warmth that radiated from within.
When he leaned in to continue his assault on her lips, she gently edged the hem of his shirt up his waist. "Jason," she breathed between kisses, "would you just..." He broke away to grab his collar and rip the shirt over his head, bringing a soft gasp from Kelsi who was greeted by an enormous tattoo on his pectoral.
"When did you get that?!" she exclaimed in a hushed voice as she ran her fingers across the wings of a weeping angel that flowed across his heart and onto his shoulder, flanked by medieval style script in a language she couldn't read.
He wanted to enjoy the sensation of her caress for a little longer, but it was more than he could take and swept her up in his arms. "Tell you later," he whispered before he spun on his heel and eased her trembling body down to her bed as their kiss continued on entirely unhinged.
"You have something right?" Kelsi asked in between breaths.
He thought quickly and realized he didn't. He'd never been a condom in the wallet type of guy, and now he was kicking himself for it. "I don't…." He sighed and put his forehead to hers in frustration, "I'm sorry, Kelsi, I didn't think we'd…"
She braced her hands and pushed herself up to sit. "It's okay, you weren't planning on this and I appreciate that," she whispered as she edged her way around him to stand. "I think I might have one." She quickly dug into her bags, still packed from her arrival from college. Finally she found it, still tucked away from the last health checkup she'd had at school. "Found it," she said softly as she straddled him, "I've only got one though."
He smiled and rolled his eyes at her, taking the condom and putting it down beside him. "I'll take what I can get, that is if you're sure you want to do this with me, Kelsi…" He let the question hang in front of her, wanting to be sure.
She heaved a deep breath and took a moment to think. After all, it was Jason, her high school friend, her date to the Lava Springs staff party, the guy she wished had asked her to prom. Now, he was asking for that ultimate connection with her, and she surrendered with a nod in certainty. "I'm sure," she replied.
Their lips met again, hungrier this time, their tongues dancing in a rhythm of passion and urgency.
Jason's hands worked quickly to rid her of her shirt and explored her curves, tracing the lines of her body as if committing them to memory. Though calloused and rough from a day's work under the hood of a car, they felt surprisingly gentle against Kelsi's skin. His fingers trembled as he struggled with the clasp on her bra, the tight metal hooks becoming his worst enemy. "Damn, these things, can you..?"
Kelsi reached around her back and easily separated the clasp, barely letting go before Jason had it sliding off her arms. He dropped it to the floor, and pulled her close, finally feeling her heart racing as her soft breasts pressed against his chest.
The rest of their clothes made their way piece by piece to the floor, their kisses growing more fervent despite their soundless engagement. The world narrowed down to the taste of each other, the feel of skin on skin, the warmth of their entwined bodies.
"Kelsi," Jason whispered as he hovered over her, his lips trailing a fiery path down her neck. "I want you so bad, baby."
She pulled his ear close to her swollen lips, her fingers tangled in his hair, urging his body closer. "Then come get me, Cross," she moaned.
As soon as his trembling hands managed to get the condom on, he found his way to her slick core. Fighting the urge to fill her fast, he kept his movements slow to inch forward. She was perfectly ready and took him easily right to the hilt with a satisfied gasp. "You feel so good, Kelsi," he whispered as he began a steady rhythm, leaning down to kiss her lips again.
"So do you," she managed to whisper when he moved his kisses down her neck and thrust harder. He did feel terribly good, so good she wished this wasn't the first time they'd done this. Her mind whirled quickly through memories, feelings, moments they had shared. It all led here, to this. Instinctively arching her hips into his, she rose to meet him at every stroke, matching his rhythm.
Damn, she's good, Jason thought as his mind swirled. She was beyond blowing his mind, and that was supposed to be his job. He shifted her leg over his hip and changed his angle, making her eyes widen and her lips part in a silent expression of shock. "Did I hurt you?" he whispered, the slight pause giving him a chance to catch a breath and hold himself back. With a clenched jaw, he resumed the gentle strokes as before.
"Oh no, that's just…" she sighed, nearly out of breath as she felt her body responding to his. The perfect pressure and friction he supplied set off rapid explosions of pleasure. She reached a hand up to his face and noticed the strain in his jaw, obviously fighting the urge to finish off. There hadn't been many other guys in her life, but still, none of them had ever done that. He was taking the time to make her feel this good even at the delay of his own satisfaction? Ever the a gentleman.
Lucky for him, her climax suddenly broke like a crashing wave, its intensity robbing her of all her breath. Her body strained and shivered, making her grasp his back and dig her nails into his skin. The unfamiliar sensation rushed through her body and she trembled in shock.
When Jason felt the satisfaction flow through her body, her muscles throbbing then fully relaxing over him, it was more than he could handle. "Oh wow, Kels..." He thrust faster and finally went over the edge with her, wincing and gasping softly as the release shook him to his core. He got his bearings and dropped a sloppy kiss on her lips, like he was drunk on her.
"That was…" Kelsi said with a pause, making Jason hold his breath, "wonderful." Her voice was husky with contentment and she breathed a gentle sigh to relax.
"It really was," he murmured, his voice thick with satisfaction. "Anywhere I can put this?" he asked, glancing down at the spent condom. They quickly and quietly cleaned up and Jason reached for his jeans.
Kelsi took his hand and pulled him close. "What do you think you're doing with those?"
Jason ran a nervous hand through his hair. "I should probably go, I don't want your parents to catch me here, tangled up with you..."
Kelsi looked up at him, her green eyes sparkling in the dim light of the moon as she pulled him closer. "Please stay, Jason," she breathed, "stay with me."
He ran a tender finger down her jaw, how could he say no when she asked so nicely? "Okay, Kels, I'll stay for a bit." They crawled back under the covers and Kelsi nestled into the crook of Jason's arm, her head resting on his chest, the steady rhythm of his heartbeat lulling her to sleep.
He held her close, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on her skin, a contented smile gracing his lips. In the quiet aftermath, they lay tangled together, their naked bodies a testament to the first taste of the passion between them.
"I didn't expect the night to end like this," she whispered, looking up into his eyes.
Jason chuckled, his gaze soft as he looked down at her. "Me neither," he admitted, his fingers gently brushing a stray strand of hair from her face. "But I'm glad it did."
As they looked into each other's eyes, they knew that this was something special, something worth exploring. They soon drifted off to sleep, wrapped in each other's arms, believing that this was just the first chapter in a story that was only just beginning.
