Chapter 24: New Sinister Six!
It is no surprise to anyone that it is common for the heroes we admire to have made a large number of enemies. From ordinary criminals to supervillains with powers or powerful technology to pose a great threat to the city and its inhabitants. We're lucky that Spider-Guppy was able to stop the villains. However, what would happen if these powerful evil beings made an alliance to take down Spider-Guppy once and for all? Well, unfortunately, it's happened before. Doctor Octopus created an association of supervillains called: The Sinister Six. Beings whose objective has been to destroy their common enemy: Spider-Guppy. There have been two confrontations with this team of villains. The first, they defeated Spider-Guppy, but could not finish him off by orders of the enigmatic Big Man. This guy who works in the occult turned out to be the true author of the creation of the Sinister Six. For the second confrontation, Doc Ock decided to act on his own and carried out an assault with his colleagues in crime, only to end up defeated by a Spider-Guppy powered by the symbiote. At this point, we must take into account that Doctor Octopus has separated himself from Big Man upon discovering that the latter was the cause of the accident that almost cost him his life. From that moment on, he seeks to eliminate Big Man. Although for that, Nonny needs something important: Kill Spider-Guppy before.
Evidently, Doctor Octopus is planning something new and wants his old colleagues to be involved in his new project. Although it seems that this time there will be important changes. Thanks to some creations of the evil scientist called Octo-Drones (which were machines similar to conventional drones, but had the ability to produce 8 mini-tentacles that allow them to hack without being detected by security systems) he managed to help some old colleagues. to escape from prison. These individuals were: Adrian Tomes (Vulture), Alex O'Hirn (Rhino) and Max Dillon (Electro). The drones left instructions for these supervillains to reach a specific, hidden meeting point. It turns out that they went to an abandoned warehouse far from the city. They had suspicions about the subject who freed them.
"I'm sure it's Doc Ock again" Vulture deduced.
"I wonder what he wants now. I just want to finish off Spider-Guppy now that we're free" Rhino added.
"You don't see it. Octopus has a plan. But it will surely fail like his past plans" Electro mocked.
"That's how you treat your old friends, huh?" In front of them appeared Nonny accompanied by his lethal and loyal robot tentacles.
"It was obvious. You got us out of prison, didn't you?" Adrian commented, crossing his arms.
"It's not difficult when you know what the prison is like and its structure. Anyway, if you are here it is because you followed my instructions" Doctor Octopus answered.
"We know! Just get to the point if you don't want to be crushed!" Rhino replied angrily.
"Always so impatient, aren't you Rhino? The point is...I have a master plan to take down Spider-Guppy. And this time, I'm sure we will" Doc Ock said confidently.
"Hahaha! We've tried it before. What will make you believe that we will get it this time, genius?" Electro asked challengingly.
"Because this time there will be a personnel change" The orange haired boy smiled before two new individuals appeared. One on each side of Nonny. On the left, there was a lobster man in a hunter's outfit with his iconic vest made of lion's fur and mane. And on the right, a guy in an extravagant purple and green suit with a helmet similar to a crystal ball.
"Huh?!" Vulture, Rhino and Electro were surprised.
"Since Sandman disappeared from town and I haven't been able to contact Shocker, I thought it was important to fill the vacancies. Gentlemen, meet the new members: Kraven the Hunter and Mysterio" Doctor Octopus introduced his new members.
"Hahaha! Don't tell me the fishbowl-headed wizard will be with us!" Electro laughed, mocking Mysterio.
"Also, you're not supposed to be a fraud" Vulture added.
"I suggest you retract it, freaks" Mysterio answered.
"Strength and power are not everything. Intelligence and cunning can win. And Quentin Beck is an expert in his field" Doctor Octopus said.
"And what about the fool over there? He's just an ordinary man in a strange costume" Rhino pointed at the hunter.
"Watch your words, rhino. You're not the best person to talk about ridiculous outfits. And if you know what's good for you, you better shut up if you don't want your head hanging in my trophy room, you monster" Kraven said intimidatingly as he played with his hunting knife.
"Oh hohoho…I want to see you try it!" Rhino wanted to start a fight right there.
"Gentlemen, why don't we save all that anger and take it all out on Spider-Guppy? It is not wise to start silly fights and waste your strength when you can use it on the person we hate the most" Nonny calmed the situation. The villains remained silent and decided to pay attention to the idea of their apparent leader.
"Let's return to the point that interests us. You say you have a new plan to destroy Spider-Guppy. Why do you think we can win this time?" Vulture asked.
"Because this time we will do things right. Plus I have a few tricks up my sleeve" Doc Ock smiled evilly. It seems that this time, he has something very big in mind. The others were interested in the plan. They may not trust Nonny because of previous failures, but the simple idea of eliminating the wall-crawler from the map was tempting and was what they all wanted. So they decided to be part of Doctor Octopus's sinister plan. Again, the Sinister Six were back.
Shortly after, winter arrived in New Bubble York. Therefore, the festivities were closer than ever. At this time, there were not as many classes due to weather conditions and festivities. Although some students and workers rested, there are people who never rest. And one of them was Spider-Guppy. Let's say that crime does not rest, not even during the holiday season. Luckily, they weren't usually serious things like massive attacks. Petty theft was common and Spider-Guppy only dealt with thieves, thugs and the occasional drug dealer. The city's favorite wall-crawler kept the city safe even in these times. On one of these cold days, Gil was working in his personal laboratory, a hidden place in the city where he improved his equipment in his fight against crime and carried out his personal investigations. In fact, we can see how Gil applied his knowledge in one of his projects.
"(sigh) Come on….I've lost count how many tests I've done already. Let's hope it works this time…" Gil said before using a dropper with a mysterious substance on a slide where he had a sample. He quickly looked at the microscope. The blood sample was his own, and you can see some cells slightly altered by the mutation caused by the spider bite. The new substance began to react with the sample. Everything indicated that it would be a failed reaction like the previous ones. However, the miracle occurred. The cells began to heal again until finally, the cells regained their original shape "N-N-No…It cant be! I-I-I DID IT!" Gil shouted with joy when he saw the positive results.
"What's up, Gil? Why so much joy?" It was Molly. She arrived at the laboratory with two paper cups of coffee. She noticed the emotion her partner had.
"Molly! Today is a great day! We've finally made it! I have managed to create a gene cleaner. This new serum is a success! See the results" Gil said happily. The girl approached the microscope and noticed the results.
"Oh my! Gilly, you did it! You finally found the cure for Connors!" The pink-haired girl said happily.
"No, WE did it. If it wasn't for your help, I wouldn't have made it. Also, the Nonny previews that Oona gave me were spot on. Now all that remains is to prepare it and find the Lizard...If only I knew where he is now. He is very elusive and discreet. And the city and its underground system is enormous..." Gil said a little worried, since he had no idea where his friend turned mutant lizard could be.
"But hey...It's already a very important step forward. I say it's a day to celebrate, right?" Molly said before handing her boyfriend a glass of hot chocolate. Being the time of winter, it was the perfect drink for the occasion. Gil simply sat down next to her and they both began to drink their respective hot drinks together, celebrating a great achievement for them.
"Ohhhh...I'm such a fool! It's the holiday season and I couldn't think of a gift for you! It's our first holiday together...Ugh I'm the worst boyfriend" Gil remembered a very important matter.
"Hey…..Relax, Gilly. You're not the worst boyfriend in the world. You're just the most distracted boyfriend, but also the bravest and busiest. I know that when you're not studying or working, you're saving some innocent person who needs help. Besides, there's still time. I have to get my gift for you too" Molly explained calmly.
"I bet I'm gonna love whatever you have for me" The blue-haired guppy answered.
"Especially if I show you my "kitty costume" Molly said in a mocking and slightly mischievous manner.
"H-Hey….I thought you wouldn't take it so personally when I talked to you about her…" Gil asked nervously.
"Nah, I'm not like that. I was just surprised that you dated a thief" She answered.
"Well, at that time you were with Eddie. Plus, I'm sure the symbiote made me do weird things that I wouldn't dare do. Still, I never had a serious relationship with Black Cat" Our hero explained himself.
"I see...I didn't have a serious relationship with Eddie either. I was only with him because I thought we would work well together on my blog...but I didn't know he was sabotaging me. Anyway, it seems we had our separate "adventures", huh?" The pink-haired girl mocked him a bit.
"Hahaha, enough... Don't say it like that. Anyone who hears us would think we're talking about double entendres" Gil giggled a bit. They both joked a bit about it, but the laughter wouldn't last long when they heard something worrying. Both of their cell phones started to be tapped. As if someone could send a live video to everyone in the city.
"What's going on?" Molly asked, wondering about what could be it. A video began to play on every television, computer and cell phone in the city. It showed a guy wearing a glass sphere helmet and wearing a fancy green suit and purple cape. He was talking to the camera while standing in the center of the city.
"Greetings, people from all over New Bubble York City! You all know me by now. I am the great Mysterio! The great hero that you rejected and became the great villain. Here I am in the middle of the city causing chaos and destruction in this place you call home…" It was Mysterio who was showing incredible shots of some strange monsters that seem taken from some fantasy and dark magic story destroying the city and many people running away scared "I recommend that you all surrender to the Great Mysterio. Oh, and if Spider-Guppy is watching this, may he be brave enough to face me. I'll be waiting for you for our duel! Unless you want to see your city at my feet" Saying this, the transmission ended, leaving a threat towards our hero.
"(sigh) Mysterio is back, and what better way than on the eve of the holidays... Well, it's time to put him back where he belongs: Behind bars" Gil said as he began to quickly change into his superhero costume once again.
"I have a bad feeling, Gilly. Quentin is a clever man. And the fact that he wants you there makes me think he has something planned" Molly warned him.
"Is it a trap? Obviously it is. But I have to go and take the bait. That's the only way I can find out what he's planning and stop him. Call me on the communicator if you notice anything strange from here" Gil said before putting on the Spider-Guppy mask which was the last thing he needed to become the superhero.
"I'll be watching from here. Please be careful" Molly begged him.
"I will" Spider-Guppy said that before quickly leaving the secret laboratory and starting to swing through the snowy city with his webs, quickly looking for Mysterio to stop whatever he has up his sleeve.
It seems that the beautiful time of the year was interrupted by Mysterio. The master of illusions had generated dark fantasy monsters such as orcs, ogres, cyclops, and skeletons that were causing destruction in the city. It was as if the monsters from literary books had come to the city. The city center had been evacuated, that would be the place where the police were making a perimeter to contain the damage. They were fighting against these monsters without much success. However, the masked hero arrived to take care of the situation. Spider-Guppy knew that these monsters were part of Mysterio's mind tricks. Therefore, they were not real monsters. He probably improved his hologram technology combined with his hallucinogenic gas. Spider-Guppy decided to swing and destroy the drones one by one. He simply relied more on his spider instincts to know where to hit and what was real or not. Our hero had learned a lot in his last encounter with Mysterio. Obviously, the monsters were fake. It was the effect of holograms and hallucinogenic gas. And the damage was caused by drones. Spider-Guppy managed to destroy the drones with his own strength and webs. Finally he decided to go to the central plaza where Mysterio was.
"Spider-Guppy, you finally decided to come forward. I've been waiting for you" Mysterio said confidently.
"I see you didn't last long in prison. You broke a record, my friend. Now you're going to break the record for the fastest supervillain to get back into jail" Spider-Guppy joked with him.
"Always so funny, my wall-crawling friend. But you should know something. Last time, I had company. And you know something? This time, it's no exception" Quentin said that before snapping his fingers and deep, loud footsteps were heard.
"I GOT YA!" Spider-Guppy managed to detect the presence of another villain and managed to evade Rhino's deadly charge. He had prepared the horn to impale him, but failed.
"What? Now Rhino's here? Tell me this isn't a cheap magic trick, Mysterio" The masked hero didn't believe that this was the real Rhino, because Mysterio had tricked him with his hallucinations.
"This is going to hurt, Spider!" Our hero managed to avoid an electric blast coming from the sky. There he saw Electro and Vulture descending respectively. The villains were slowly gathering.
"Vulture? Electro? No way...The Sinister Six again?" Spider-Guppy asked surprisedly.
"We finally meet again, Spider-Guppy. We had a duel pending" Among the villains we added one more. Kraven the hunter was present, preparing his two hunting knives and his weapons ready.
"That's right, my dear Spider-Guppy. Let's just say I took Doctor Octopus' idea and removed some of his limbs. And now we have formed Mysterio's New Sinister Six!" Quentin Beck presented himself as the mastermind of the new Sinister Six.
"Well, I think you failed math. I only see five of you" Spider-Guppy said funnily.
"Oh right! I didn't introduce you to the sixth member" The crystal-helmeted villain pressed a couple of buttons on his bracelet and the floor opened up in front of Spider-Guppy, revealing a massive cage containing a surprise character.
"GRRRRRUUAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
"N-N-No! It cant be!" Spider-Guppy was surprised.
"Surprised, huh? What's the matter? Has the cat got your tongue? Or maybe…."the lizard"?" Mysterio sneered. That's right, the monster locked in the cage was Lizard! Aka Grouper Connors.
"What happened to you? You don't work for anyone. You're supposed to be your own leader" Spider-Guppy asked him.
"GRRRRRRR!" Now The Lizard was just acting like a monster, like in the first encounter. It was as if he had returned to his primitive state. But our hero noticed something strange. It was a technological collar that The Lizard had on his neck. It was obvious, he was under Mysterio's mind control.
"Now that we're all gathered together, it's time for the big act to begin! Ladies and gentlemen of New BubbleYork, we want you to behold this grand feat. You will all witness Spider-Guppy fall at the hands of Mysterio's Sinister Six!" Mysterio said proudly and controlled some drones to start broadcasting the fight. Everyone could see what was happening in that square from their cell phones, computers and televisions. Spider-Guppy was surrounded by the New Sinister Six "It's time for the show to begin! Sinister Six, attack!" The illusory master ordered and the battle began.
The difficult duel has begun. Spider-Guppy had to face old enemies at the same time. Rhino, Vulture, Electro, Kraven, The Lizard and Mysterio joined forces to take down the spider-crawler. Rhino and The Lizard were the experts in brute force, ferocity and hand-to-hand combat. Vulture and Electro attacked from a distance with their respective powers and weapons. Kraven used a mixed strategy between melee attack and ranged attack with his hunting rifle. Mysterio was a strategist who fired his electropulse rays and used his drones and holograms to confuse our hero. This combination of attacks was overwhelming for Spider-Guppy.
"Ughh! I have to admit it. I've never been able to defeat the Sinister Six alone" Spider-Guppy confessed as he used his hands to forcefully grab the jaws of the Lizard who was trying to eat him. The masked man decided to jump on top of him to avoid him and shot web at Rhino's eyes to avoid another attack. Vulture managed to grab him with the claws of his feet like a bird of prey. The winged villain threw him to the ground and Mysterio shot him with a green electropulse, knocking our hero down "AGHH!"
"Admit it, Spider-Guppy! You've fallen to the best. Accept Mysterio's superiority" The caped villain bragged a bit.
"You know, I think that's a flaw of mine. I never know when to stop. And I'm not giving up now. I just need to use my imagination more" Spider-Guppy began to plan some strategy to stop the Sinister Six, one by one.
"This spider talks too much. It needs to be squashed once and for all" Rhino charged forward without thinking, looking to destroy him with blows. But Spider-Guppy managed to use his agility to evade his slow attacks. It was game time.
"Hey, Sparky! You're supposed to be one of the most powerful in the group and I don't see you doing much around here" Spider-Guppy mocked him.
"You'll stop laughing when you're roasted!" Electro started shooting his electric shocks at him to fry our hero. Spider-Guppy used somersaults and reflexes to dodge the electric shots and used the environment to his advantage. He provoked him so much that Electro charged a more powerful electric shot and when he shot the masked man, he simply dodged it and it ended up being Rhino who received the powerful electric charge.
"AAAAGHHHH! NOT AGAIN! AAAAHHHH!" Rhino screamed in pain as he received Electro's electric shock and the suit was rendered useless by the overload and fell to the ground. One less, five left.
"Damn it, Electro. Why do you always hit the wrong target?!" Vulture gets angry with Electro.
"You don't give me orders, old man!" The electric guppy angrily confronted him. They both started to argue. Being angry, Electro was starting to overload himself and Spider-Guppy overloaded him further with a high voltage cable from a street light. Electro began to swell a little, releasing powerful electrical energy.
"Stop it, Electro. If you blow up, you'll screw us all!" Mysterio said very worried when he noticed Electro's overload.
"I better go" Spider-Guppy escaped quickly before….
"AAAAAGGGGHHHHHH!" Electro couldn't contain all the energy he had accumulated by not controlling his power and began to explode large electric discharges that damaged everyone in his range. Vulture, Rhino, Lizard and Mysterio received the electric discharge, receiving a great amount of damage and all of them fell defeated, since many of them had metal equipment. When the chain reaction ended, Electro fell to the ground without energy and unable to fight. Spider-Guppy contemplated how the battlefield was destroyed by the explosion and his enemies had fallen.
"I didn't think it would work. It was risky, but I had to try it" Spider-Guppy said to himself.
"Finally, you're mine. I won't have to put up with Mysterio's orders anymore" Kraven appeared menacingly with his hunting swords ready to finish him off.
"I had a feeling someone was still standing" Spider-Guppy said.
"I don't like the team-of-villains game. I prefer to work alone or with my men. Besides, I only want one thing: Your head in my trophy room" Without further ado, the hunter launched an attack, seeking to cut off his head. For a common person, he was quite resistant and tenacious in wanting to kill him. He was a very talented person in physical combat. That's why Spider-Guppy kept his distance, since he didn't know how to fight better than him. In addition, the hunting knives increased his danger. To make matters worse, Kraven took out his hunting rifle and shot him. The masked boy was able to evade the attacks, except for one shot that managed to scrape his shoulder causing him pain. But he held on and continued fighting the hunter. The wall-crawler had an idea. He began to shoot his webs at his feet and legs to stick him to the ground, taking away his mobility. Then he took away his knives and began to entangle him in a cocoon of webs and hung him upside down from a light pole, to leave him immobile.
"Ugh...Ugh...I think that's all of them now" Spider-Guppy was covering his left shoulder, which was where he got scratched by the bullet. Unfortunately, one of the villains got up to fight more.
"GRRRRRRAAAAAHHHH!" The Lizard attacked Spider-Guppy, attempting to kill him with its savage claws and bites.
"The collar must have been damaged in Electro's explosion. Maybe he's out of control now. I must stop him now" Spider-Guppy thought about how to control Lizard. At that moment, the communicator in his ear activated.
"Gilly! Gilly! How are you?"
"Ugh…Molly….I'm still dealing with some of the Sinister Six. Looks like Mysterio stole Nonny's idea. Now Ughhh...I'm against Lizard" Spider-Guppy said as he dodged Lizard's deadly attacks.
"I know. I'm looking at you right now. Gil, I brought you the gene cleaner you created. You must inject it into him" Gil was surprised to hear that and saw Molly running, approaching the scene with the serum prepared.
"But Molly... Are you sure about this? Do you think the serum will work this time?" Spider-Guppy asked worriedly.
"I don't know, but we should try. Nonny would have wanted it. Let's do this" The pink haired girl said decisively. The masked hero had a risky idea. He jumped onto the creature's back and used webs to bind the Lizard's snout and began to ride it like a bull in a bullfight. The Lizard was in a wild state, so it jumped and ran around while Spider-Guppy kept its balance and slightly steered the monster's direction. Finally, Gil decided to crash it into a stone monument. So he jumped off its back and made the Lizard crash its head into the monument, leaving it very stunned.
"Catch it!" Molly threw the syringe to Spider-Guppy. He caught it in one of his webs and pulled it into his hand. The hero quickly prepared the syringe before Lizard could get up. Finally, the masked boy was able to inject the gene cleaner into Grouper Connors.
"UAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH!" Lizard screamed in fury, but fell to the ground from his daze as the serum began to weaken him. Finally, all six supervillains were defeated. Spider-Guppy approached Mysterio, who was the leader and had been able to get up slowly and weakly.
"No! No! NOO! This should be my big moment!" Mysterio was weakened as he wished to shoot Gil with his bracelet, but it was damaged. He was totally defenseless.
"Your villain's club game is over, Quentin. Tell me, you didn't plan this alone, did you? We both know whose idea the Sinister Six was. Tell me, where is HE?" Spider-Guppy said seriously before grabbing Mysterio by the neck and holding him up for questioning.
"What are you talking about, Spider-Guppy? I am the mastermind here! I, the great Mysterio- Agh!" Quentin Beck previously said that the hero would throw him to the ground.
"I'm not in the mood for games, Quentin. I need to find him before…" Spider-Guppy said seriously until he noticed something strange. An energy radiation was being felt in the air. Spider-Guppy, Molly and Mysterio looked at the building that was in front of the square where the great battle was. They saw how a strange device appeared with four antennas in the form of huge pincers that were creating a sphere of pure yellow energy that was growing little by little. They noticed that there were air currents near the place, which was worrying.
"But what is that thing?" Molly asked worriedly.
"It can't be... Was it all a trap?" Spider-Guppy asked.
"You finally notice, Spider-Guppy. I knew you were smarter than you let on" The three of them saw that the voice was coming from the building. A mysterious silhouette was watching them on the roof. The subject threw himself off the building in the direction where they were. When he was about to hit the ground, four robot tentacles came out of his back to land safely and the subject finally showed himself to them.
"Did you miss me, Spider-Guppy?"
"Doc Ock!" Spider-Guppy took a defensive stance between Nonny and Molly. He didn't want Doc Ock to catch her with any of his tentacles.
"Looks like you were able to take on the Sinister Six. What a shame. I didn't think you could take them on alone. Last time you were only able to beat them with a little "help" The villain said sarcastically. Even he was aware of the existence of the symbiote that Gil used in the last duel against the Sinister Six.
"I always learn from my mistakes and from my past fights. Why do you think it's getting harder to finish me off? But tell me, what do you want now?" Spider-Guppy said seriously.
"Look up. Behold my masterpiece. It's my nuclear fusion machine. The power of the sun in the palm of my hand. The Sinister Six were just a distraction for you so you couldn't stop my machine of mass destruction. That thing is going to disintegrate the entire island of Manhattan and nothing and no one will be left alive. Everyone here will inevitably die" Doctor Octopus explained his ultimate plan.
"No! No! NO! This wasn't part of the plan! You never said anything about destroying the whole city. Much less with us included!" Quentin Beck said scared.
"Oh my dear, naive Quentin. I simply used you and the other Sinisters as bait to distract Spider-Guppy while I prepared the machine I've been working on since I began my criminal career. This thing will kill everything in the city. And no one, not even Spider-Guppy, will be able to stop it" Doctor Octopus said evilly.
"You've lost your mind! I'm going to stop your plan" Spider-Guppy said seriously.e if you dare, hero" Nonny said before grabbing two cars with his tentacles and throwing them at Spider-Guppy. The masked hero used his webs to save Molly and Mysterio from being crushed by the cars and managed to dodge them. The doctor simply used that to distract him and began to climb the tower where his machine was gathering more energy.
"Okay... Molly, I need you to get out of town now. I don't know if I can stop that machine in time" Spider-Guppy advised her.
"I'm not leaving you here. I trust you to stop the machine. Spider-Guppy, I'm going to broadcast live to warn the entire city to evacuate. That way we can save more lives. Now, go get him, tiger!" His girlfriend encouraged him. He simply nodded and quickly climbed the building to reach the roof where Doctor Octopus was with his deadly destruction machine. The nuclear fusion machine kept accumulating more energy.
"Listen to me, mad doctor. You've done some really bad things, but this is going too far. Why do you want to destroy the city? It doesn't make sense!" Spider-Guppy faced him.
"Do you really want to know, spider? I assume you remember the day of the accident... The day Nonny died and Doctor Octopus was born…" He wanted to explain his reasons.
"I know, it wasn't an accident...Big Man planned everything to kill you. I've done my research...I don't understand, we're on the same side...We both want to stop him" Spider-Guppy tried to convince him.
"My patience is wearing thin. I can't stop thinking about that day or Big Man. I know Big Man is in town. So...why don't I just save myself the trouble and destroy this damn town...After all, all I want to do is kill Big Man" Doctor Octopus said insanely.
"You must stop. That machine will kill you too!" The hero tried to calm him.
"It doesn't matter anymore! Big Man will die today along with this city and me included! Nothing matters anymore if I'm not free!" He screamed in anger before launching into an attack, looking to fight "Let's make this the last dance!"
Spider-Guppy vs. Doctor Octopus again! This time, the villain wanted this to be the final battle where both would die by the explosion. He was so fed up with Big Man and his paranoia led him to want to destroy him along with all the inhabitants of the city. Spider-Guppy, on the other hand, sought the salvation of the city and the way to stop the machine. Unfortunately, every time he tried to approach the machine, he was intercepted by Nonny or by one of his intelligent robot arms. He just wanted to distract him before the machine could destroy the city with a nuclear energy equivalent to a bomb. Spider-Guppy used webs to slow down the movements of Nonny and his tentacles. Spider-Guppy approached the machine and tried to destroy the antennas, but they were very resistant. And just at that moment, a tentacle caught him and began to torture him slowly. Finally, Doc Ock approached the trapped Spider-Guppy.
"Hahaha! Naive wall-crawler, did you really think you could save the city this time? I'm stronger and smarter than you. The city will be destroyed with us included. The machine will not stop. Now tell me: What will be your last words?" Doctor Octopus asked him evilly.
"Ughh…Ughh…Aghhh….I...I...I know who you really are. You're not the Doc Ock that everyone hates and fears. I know that deep down...Nonny Octavius is still alive" Spider-Guppy admitted.
"Are you still clinging to that empty hope? Pathetic" He said cruelly and coldly.
"Listen to me, Doctor Octopus... Or rather, Nonny... I know you're still in there... Still fighting the artificial intelligence of the arms... Please listen to me... There are still people waiting for you... Gil Parker... Goby Osborn... Norman Osborn... Molly Jane Watson... Deema Stacey... Zooli Hardy... and Oona Allen... The girl you love is still waiting for you to come back... And all of them will die if the machine succeeds... Please, the girl you love is waiting for you and will die if you don't fight!" Spider-Guppy said seriously trying to convince him. That only caused Doc Ock to slam him into a wall hard.
"Shut up! Shut up! Nothing you say to me is going to...UGHHH!" Something strange happened. The robotic arms started to make a strange screech of pain and anger. The villain started to squeeze his own head with both his hands in pain. He started to scream and fight with himself.
"Nonny….Nonny…." Spider-Guppy repeated his name.
"UGHHHH AGHHHH STOP! UGHHH…..NO….NO!...I...I...I AM THE ONE IN CHARGE, NOT YOU!" For a moment, Nonny spoke angrily to his robot arms and they began to get angry. In a moment of ecstasy, Nonny was regaining control and he ordered his arms in a screaming manner that each tentacle could destroy each antenna at the same time with force.
"It can't be...Is that Nonny?" Spider-Guppy said quietly.
"UGHHHHH AGGGHHHHH LEAVE MY HEAD! I WILL NOT BE A MONSTER ANYMORE!" Nonny began to receive electrical energy from the machine. Despite the physical and mental pain of fighting the wishes of the artificial intelligence of the arms, he continued to destroy the machine until finally, the nuclear energy began to stabilize and began to disappear, but not before causing a small explosion that sent Nonny flying and he fell on the roof and slowly recovered. He was weak and it would not be long before the arms regained control.
"Nonny….Nonny….." Spider-Guppy approached Nonny. The orange-haired boy looked at the masked hero. He had no words in his mouth and said something that would fill him with hope.
"Spider-Guppy…please….Tell Oona I love her...and I always will…" Nonny smiled before…
"No…No! Wait! NO!" Spider-Guppy screamed as he saw Nonny simply close his eyes and let himself fall from the building. It seemed to be a kind of suicide. In fact, Spider-Guppy thought about throwing himself off the building to catch him with his webs. But as soon as he looked at the ground, the arms activated by themselves and cushioned Nonny's fall. And immediately, the tentacles screeched in anger and carried away the unconscious boy. For a few seconds, Nonny managed to prevail over the artificial intelligence of the arms and save the city. Although it was a victory, it did not feel like that to Gil.
There was a lot of damage to the city center and some injuries, but luckily there were no casualties. Many of the supervillains were arrested. Despite it being a satisfying victory, Gil didn't feel that way. He was walking through the suburbs with his girlfriend Molly. The two of them weren't talking. They were just walking and looking at the wintery atmosphere.
"Hey, Gil...Why are you looking so long? You finally managed to defeat the Sinister Six alone for the first time...And even a seventh one hehe" Molly asked him.
"(sigh) We should celebrate this victory...But it was only a partial victory...It didn't go as we expected….Rhino, Electro, Vulture and Mysterio were arrested...But Kraven, Lizard and Doc Ock escaped...And the worst thing? It seems that the serum failed again and...and...(sigh) Nonny was the one who destroyed the machine...He managed to recover his old self...but it was not enough..." Gil said sadly. He felt helpless for not being able to do more for them. Molly noticed this and put her hand on his shoulder.
"You did everything you could with what we had...Don't feel that way...I know one day we will achieve it..." Molly comforted him.
"Thanks for making me feel less bad...But, this was the perfect opportunity...There was Grouper and Nonny...(sigh) I'm thinking this is all because of Big Man. I think we should take care of him now. Grouper and Nonny are out of our reach now...He must be stopped, Molly..." Gil said determinedly.
"We will find him and he will pay for all the damage he has done... Ahem... Gilly, can we stop talking about Spider-Guppy stuff for now... It's the holidays and you could clear your mind during this celebration... Maybe we could think about the gifts we are going to prepare for our families, friends and each other of course" Molly smiled at him. Gil knew she had a point. How was he going to fulfill Spider-Guppy's plans without neglecting his normal life? So he decided to take his girlfriend's recommendation.
"Heh…Youre right, Molly….The holidays will soon begin and we must prepare the gifts...How lucky that I have saved up for the year…" Gil wanted to explain something before his girlfriend stopped him with a finger in his lips.
"Shhhh….Look, Gilly…." Molly stopped him with a flirtatious smile. She pointed with her other hand at something curious: It was a mistletoe above them. Gil noticed this and blushed.
"Oh! Euh…Huh…Well….e here" Gil decided to obey the Christmas tradition and took his girlfriend and kissed her on the lips under the mistletoe. Who says a hero can't enjoy his personal life? This holiday season wasn't the most normal for them, but this mission wasn't in vain. Maybe they didn't achieve much for themselves, but this will cause important things in the long run. For example, the serum must have done something to Lizard. And Nonny began to free himself more from the control of his robot arms. Will his return be soon?
Finally! This chapter is finally here! It seems like a good way to get back to this story. Due to several projects in both my personal life and my life as a fanficker, it became complicated for me to continue with this story. But I don't plan on abandoning it, especially when we're getting closer to the good stuff!

It was amazing! Grouper Connors is back...although he still retains his mutant appearance. It seems that things are going to improve little by little.
